This illustrates the call for believers to separate themselves from sin, false teachings, and unworthy associations, so that they may live in purity and be useful instruments in God's hands. Living in purity involves fleeing youthful passions and actively pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace. You must also avoid watching sensual musical videos, obscene movies, music with erotic lyrics, and lust. This requires self-control, which is necessary for anyone who intends to live a life of purity. How is your lifestyle? The reason we talk about this is because we all need to know what is to come. Just as God is a Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, there is also a diabolical trinity, namely: the evil one, the antichrist and the false prophet. The Lord God did not leave us in ignorance about what is to happen. These three have different personalities. The evil one There are people who do not believe that the evil one - the first person of this trinity - exists. However, as God exists, there is also an opponent who is now more than ever out to destroy humanity. He is looking for a prey to destroy (see 1 Peter 5:8). The antichrist The second person of the diabolical trinity in this end time is the antichrist. We read about this in Revelation 13:1-8. In the Bible he is called the beast. The antichrist will rise during the last big empire - the restored Roman Empire - from the image of Daniel (see Daniel 2). When the feet of that image become visible, the power will be given to this leader. He will emerge as a diabolical dictator. He will not allow God to be worshiped and will place himself in the temple in Jerusalem. The false prophet In the time of the antichrist, the false prophet will also appear. We read about him in Revelation 13:11-14. He will seduce people by performing miracles and signs. During this time the false prophet will persuade people to believe in the antichrist. When these three appears on stage, a terrible time will come. But Jesus Christ will also return on the clouds to end this period. The Holy Spirit, who inspired Scripture, does not contradict Himself. Therefore, testing a teaching by Scripture is not resisting the Spirit; it is one of the ways obedience to the Spirit is expressed. Discernment is not suspicion toward everyone. Earlier, John described teachers who had departed from the fellowship because their doctrine revealed that they were never truly of it. Here he exposes the spiritual dimension behind their message. Human teachers speak, but their teaching serves either the truth of God or the spirit of error. This does not mean that every mistaken believer is a false prophet. Christians may misunderstand a passage and later receive correction. A false prophet, however, claims spiritual authority while leading people away from the truth God has revealed—especially the truth concerning Christ. Scripture tells the church to examine both doctrine and fruit. Character cannot make false doctrine true, and correct vocabulary cannot make corrupt fruit harmless. The incarnation is not a secondary doctrine for specialists. If Christ did not truly assume our humanity, He could not stand in the place of human sinners. The incarnation safeguards the cross, the bodily resurrection, Christ’s present intercession, and the believer’s future bodily hope. It may praise Him as a moral teacher, prophet, healer, example, or spiritual guide while denying who He actually is. Respectful language can still hide a rejection of the Son. John allows no neutral ground here. To deny the Son revealed by the Father is to stand against God, however religious the denial may sound. This is why doctrinal precision matters. Precision is not spiritual fussiness when the identity of Christ is at stake. The church does not preserve truth by being quarrelsome, but neither does it preserve love by treating every description of Jesus as equally faithful. This promise is not a celebration of the power supposedly hidden within the human self. The greater One is God, not us. Nor does the verse teach that believers cannot be confused or temporarily influenced by error. John’s assurance is that the power behind the truth is greater than the power behind deception, and that God will preserve His people through the means He has appointed: His Word, His Spirit, and the fellowship of the church. Discernment may require courage, but it need not be driven by fear. Teaching that protects human autonomy, minimizes sin, removes the offense of the cross, or reshapes Christ to suit the age will naturally find a hearing in the world. Error often succeeds not because it is carefully proved, but because it tells fallen people something they are already inclined to believe. Popularity is therefore an unreliable test of truth. A large audience may hear a faithful message, and a small audience may hear a false one; numbers alone settle nothing. Yet the church should not be surprised when biblical truth meets resistance. The gospel confronts the world’s deepest loyalties by declaring that humanity is sinful, Christ alone saves, and every person owes Him repentance and faith. To hear the apostles is to hear the testimony Christ authorized; to reject that testimony is to reject the standard God has given. This is how the church recognizes the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. The test is neither novelty nor antiquity, emotional intensity nor intellectual sophistication, miracles nor lack of miracles. The decisive question is whether the message agrees with the apostolic Christ of Scripture. Not every spiritual voice deserves trust simply because it sounds sincere. Sincerity may accompany truth, but sincerity cannot create truth. Need to know. THE THIRD TEMPLE DECEPTION Everyon Is Looking In The Wrong Place For The Antichrist. The belief that a third Jewish temple must be rebuilt in Jerusalem before the second coming of Christ has become one of the most popular teachings in modern prophecy circles. Many Christians now watch events in Israel expecting the rebuilding of the temple to signal the final countdown of earth's history. Organizations such as the Temple Institute have prepared priestly garments, vessels, and architectural plans, while some groups have even trained men who claim descent from the tribe of Levi for future temple service. The search for a red heifer has also received worldwide attention because of the ceremonial purification described in Numbers 19. To many, these developments appear to fulfill prophecy. Yet sincere belief does not make a teaching true. Jesus warned that many would be deceived concerning the last days, saying, "Take heed that no man deceive you" (Matthew 24:4). The apostle Paul likewise urged believers to "prove all things; hold fast that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Every prophetic teaching must therefore be tested by the whole Bible rather than by popular opinion or current events. Those who insist on a future temple often point to passages in Daniel, Ezekiel, Matthew 24, or 2 Thessalonians 2, but these texts are separated from their historical and biblical context. Paul wrote that "the man of sin... sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). In the New Testament, however, God's temple is repeatedly identified as His church. Paul wrote, "Ye are the temple of God" (1 Corinthians 3:16-17), and again, "What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God" (2 Corinthians 6:16). Peter described believers as "living stones... built up a spiritual house" (1 Peter 2:5), while Ephesians 2:19-22 says the church is "an holy temple in the Lord." Therefore, the prophecy points to a religious power exalting itself within the sphere of Christianity rather than to a rebuilt Jewish temple in the Middle East. History also shows that the modern expectation of a rebuilt third temple is not the historic understanding held by the majority of Christians through the centuries. During the Protestant Reformation, leaders such as Martin Luther, John Calvin, and John Knox identified the Antichrist with the papal system based on Daniel 7, Daniel 8, 2 Thessalonians 2, and Revelation 13. Historically, this was not the view of only a few individuals. It was the dominant Protestant interpretation for centuries. The Anglican Reformers, the Presbyterian Reformers, the Baptist pioneers, the Methodist founder John Wesley, and many others all identified the Antichrist as the papal system rather than a single future individual. This historical consensus is well documented in works such as Romanism and the Reformation by Henry Grattan Guinness. In response to the Reformation, Jesuit scholars developed alternative prophetic systems that shifted attention away from the papacy. Francisco Ribera published a commentary in 1590 placing most of the prophecies of Antichrist into a brief future period involving a single individual, a rebuilt temple, and restored Jewish sacrifices. These ideas have infiltrated many evangelical churches who has given up the protest against the papacy and has effectively lost their identity as Protestants. The teaching spread widely in the nineteenth century through John Nelson Darby, who popularized dispensationalism. His ideas separated God's plan for Israel from His plan for the church and placed many prophecies into a future seven-year tribulation centered on a rebuilt temple. These teachings became enormously influential through the Scofield Reference Bible, whose notes shaped generations of Bible readers. Later books such as The Late Great Planet Earth and the Left Behind series brought these interpretations into popular culture. Although widely accepted today, popularity is not proof of truth. Isaiah declared, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isaiah 8:20). The importance of this issue extends far beyond the question of whether another temple will be built. The rebuilt-temple doctrine fundamentally changes where Christians expect the Antichrist to appear. If the Antichrist must sit in a literal temple in Jerusalem, then believers naturally conclude that he must be a future political ruler who has not yet arrived. Their attention is directed toward Israel, a future seven-year tribulation, and a coming world dictator who will one day enter a rebuilt sanctuary. Yet since the "temple of God" in 2 Thessalonians 2 refers to God's spiritual temple, the church, then the entire picture changes. Instead of looking for an unbelieving political leader to enter a Jewish temple, believers must look for a religious power arising within the sphere of professed Christianity that claims divine authority and exalts itself in God's place. The location of the temple determines the identity of the Antichrist. Change the temple from spiritual to literal, and the Antichrist is changed from a long-standing religious system into a future individual. This is why the interpretation of the temple is not a minor prophetic detail but the foundation upon which the entire identification of the Antichrist rests. The Bible consistently warns that the greatest deceptions come from within the realm of religion rather than from obvious enemies of God. Jesus warned of "false Christs, and false prophets" (Matthew 24:24). Paul warned the Ephesian elders that "grievous wolves" would arise from among God's own people (Acts 20:29-30). He also foretold a "falling away" before the revelation of the man of sin (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Peter likewise warned of false teachers who would secretly introduce destructive errors (2 Peter 2:1). These warnings describe an apostasy arising within the visible community of faith, harmonizing with Paul's description of the man of sin sitting in God's temple. This explains why Satan would benefit from directing prophetic attention elsewhere. If Christians are convinced that the Antichrist will only appear after a future temple is rebuilt, they are less likely to examine the religious system that has exercised enormous influence over Christianity for centuries and fulfills the prophetic characteristics described in Daniel and Revelation. Instead of recognizing a power already operating in history, they continue waiting for someone else. In this way the expectation of a future temple does more than change prophetic chronology, it redirects prophetic attention. Rather than watching for the fulfillment of biblical characteristics already given in Scripture, many are waiting for a future event that becomes the prerequisite for identifying the Antichrist. This mistaken teaching serves as a deceptive diversion from the real issues presented in Bible prophecy. Revelation does not direct the world's attention to a rebuilt temple but to a beast that receives worldwide admiration and worship. "All the world wondered after the beast" (Revelation 13:3), and "all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him" (Revelation 13:8). Daniel described the same power as speaking "great words against the most High" and thinking "to change times and laws" (Daniel 7:25). Paul warned that this power would exalt itself above God (2 Thessalonians 2:4). By persuading millions to look almost exclusively toward political events in Jerusalem and a future temple, attention is diverted from examining the continuing work of the power that Scripture identifies. Satan has always worked through deception, for Jesus called him "a liar, and the father of it" (John 8:44), and Revelation 12:9 says he "deceiveth the whole world." The greatest deceptions are those that contain enough truth to hide serious error. The Bible reveals that God's people are called to fix their eyes on Christ rather than on an earthly building. Jesus declared, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up," speaking "of the temple of his body" (John 2:19-21). Believers are now "built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone" (Ephesians 2:20). Hebrews repeatedly directs the believer's attention to Christ as our High Priest in heaven (Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 8:1-2). The book of Revelation portrays God's end-time people as those "that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12), not as those waiting for renewed animal sacrifices or an earthly sanctuary. Their attention is fixed upon the Lamb "that was slain" (Revelation 5:12), whose perfect sacrifice can never be repeated. The New Testament consistently teaches that the earthly temple reached its fulfillment in Jesus Christ and that its sacrificial system ended forever at the cross. When Christ died, "the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom" (Matthew 27:51), showing that the earthly sanctuary services had come to their end. Hebrews declares that Christ entered "into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us" (Hebrews 9:24), ministering in "the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man" (Hebrews 8:2). His sacrifice was offered "once for all" (Hebrews 10:10). To rebuild a temple for renewed sacrifices would deny the completeness of Christ's atoning work. The true focus of Bible prophecy is not an earthly sanctuary in Jerusalem but Christ's ministry in the heavenly sanctuary. Conclusion The expectation of a third temple is not a harmless difference of prophetic opinion, but a teaching that shifts the focus away from Christ's finished sacrifice, His present ministry in heaven, and the identification of the power Scripture repeatedly warns against. The devil benefits whenever prophecy is misunderstood because error always hides truth. Paul warned that Satan transforms himself "into an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14), while Jesus warned that false prophets would arise and "deceive, if it were possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24). God's people are therefore called to search the Scriptures diligently, like the Bereans who "searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so" (Acts 17:11). The safest guide is not popular prophecy, sensational headlines, or human tradition, but the clear testimony of God's Word, which points believers to Christ, His heavenly ministry, and the final conflict over worship and obedience described throughout Daniel and Revelation. But Paul tells us that one day the source, the very origin of iniquity, will be revealed. One day all the hidden things of darkness, all the vileness of evil, will be placed in one person. That man, the Antichrist, will reign in this world and will be loved like no leader before him. He will promise peace but bring destruction. He will promise prosperity but bring poverty. More than this, he will make and then dreadfully break a covenant with Israel. He will go into the rebuilt temple and seat himself as God over the earth.

Story one: Not long ago, the world watched as three grey whales, icebound off Point Barrow, Alaska, floated battered and bloody, gasping for breath at a hole in the ice. The whales’ only hope was to be somehow transported five miles past the ice pack to the open sea. Rescuers began cutting a string of breathing holes about twenty yards apart in the six-inch thick ice. For eight days they painstakingly coaxed the whales from one hole to the next, mile after mile. Along the way, one of the trio vanished and was presumed dead. But finally, with the help of Russian icebreakers, the other two whales, Putu and Siku, swam to freedom. Story two: Jackie Robinson was the first black player in the US to play major league baseball. While breaking baseball’s colour barrier, he faced jeering crowds in every stadium. Playing one day in his home stadium in Brooklyn, he made an error and his own fans began to boo him. As he stood, humiliated, at second base, ‘Pee Wee’ Reese came over and stood next to him. God was happy with him and provided a ram from heaven to his father for the burnt offering. The blessing of Abraham passed on to him not just because he was Abraham's son, but because he, personally, loved and obeyed the Lord. God always blesses those children who love and obey Him. Isaac was not slothful or lazy either. Though he inherited covenant blessings from his father, yet, he worked very hard. Our Bible passage confirms that God blessed Isaac more and more. It is not enough to know and quote the promises of God for Him to bless you. If you know all the promises of God in your heart and fold your arms and do not work, the blessings of God's provision may not come. Isaac had all-round blessings. *The same God who promises to make you the head and not the tail, is the same who has warned us not to be slothful in business; but rather, consider the ants who work hard at the right time. None of the prophets gave comprehensive information on any of the subjects except those given by Jesus Christ and John the Beloved on the Island of Patmos. However, combining the revelation of those prophets will give a more comprehensive information of the things that must shortly come to pass. The closing verses of Joel present a prophetic picture of the events that will culminate in God's final judgment and the establishment of His righteous kingdom. These are not uncertain predictions, but divine decrees that must come to pass according to God's eternal purpose. The passage reminds believers that history is moving toward God's appointed climax, where every individual and nation will give an account before Him. Therefore, the wise prepare themselves spiritually, remain faithful and confidently await the fulfilment of God's promises. *1. The Determinate Valley of Decision* a. God created man as a free moral agent and therefore, he is expected to make his decisions and be fully responsible for his decisions. God only gives the needed information and persuades people to choose right and in the light of eternity. He told Israel as He still tells all today, *". I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: ".* Decision always determine destiny. Right and divinely informed decisions will lead to eternal life while carefree and selfish decisions will lead to eternal damnation. In the text, the prophet was made to see far into *"the day of the LORD"* and into the valley of decision. *"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision..."*. *The day of the LORD* describes the gathering of nations before God's judgment. Decisions are both ways. Man must make His decision before that day when God will make His decision as to what to do with the wicked. The "valley of decision" is where people seal their choices after their decisions and where God pronounces His irreversible verdict. *The day of the LORD* is certain and no sinner will escape His righteous judgment. b. God always gives opportunities for people to make their decision and He also will judge all base on their personal and individual decisions made. While God's grace is available today, the opportunity to repent will not remain forever. Every person must respond to Christ before the day of divine judgment arrives. It was not only Joel that had the vision of impending judgment of nations and individuals. Virtually, most the prophets saw it and it is irreversible. It will happen. *Question* Are you living each day with the consciousness that you will one day stand before God's judgment seat? *2. The Deadly Visions of Destruction* a. Joel portrays terrifying cosmic disturbances: *". The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. "*. This has to do with the event at the Great Tribulation period preceding the Second Coming of Christ. Jesus confirmed it in Matthew 24:21,27-30. These signs reveal the majesty and holiness of God as He judges evil. The wrath of God during the Great Tribulation will be so fearful that *"the heavens and the earth shall shake"*. b. The prophet concentrates on the fate of Israel as a nation during this period. *"The LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel"*. Israel will be protected from the wicked onslaught of the Antichrist. Though the wicked will do wickedly, God's people will find refuge in Him. God's people will always be given shelter, protection and refuge from His wrath and the wickedness of the wicked.The same Lord who shakes heaven and earth is the secure shelter of those who trust Him. His judgment is dreadful for sinners, but comforting for the righteous. God is always our refuge in trouble. *Question* Is the Lord your refuge or are you relying on temporary earthly securities? *3.The Divine Visitations According to Decisions* a. The decisions people make will determine God's response to them. Every decision you make at any instance either draws you closer to God or farther away from God. Be always mindful of your decisions. Egypt and Edom will become desolate during the Millennial reign of Christ *"because they have shed innocent blood in their land"*. It is the opposite of the holy Jerusalem because they will be cleansed of their sins. In the time of the Millennial reign of Christ, there will be abundant prosperity, the visible presence of God and unlimited blessings for the godly. *"The mountains shall drop down......and the hills shall flow with milk"*. God's visitations are consistent with His justice: He rewards faithfulness and judges rebellion. Eternal blessing belongs to those who belong to Him. b. The wicked may appear to prosper and enjoy this world, but their end is regret, sorrow and judgment of God. The righteous may appear to lack and righteousness may not be fashionable in the land, but the righteous will always have the last laugh if they can endure faithfully to the end. *Question* Are your daily decisions leading you toward God's eternal blessings or toward His judgment? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, help me to live every day in readiness for the coming Day of the Lord and to remain faithful until the end 🙏. 2.Father, be my refuge and strength in every trial and preserve me from the judgments coming upon the world 🙏. 3.Lord, let my decisions always align with Your perfect will so that I will enjoy Your favour and everlasting blessings 🙏. 4.Father, establish Your righteousness in our lives, keep us steadfast in Christ, make and keep us ready for Your glorious kingdom 🙏. *HYMN:* Have you counted the cost *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EXODUS 20-22. The protection of God was on him. Abimelech warned his people who had been disturbing Isaac to stop their wicked activities towards him. This was God's favour on him. Isaac learned to love the Lord from the time he was a young child. He was that boy who willingly gave himself to his father to be offered as a sacrificie to God. God was happy with him and provided a ram from heaven to his father for the burnt offering. The blessing of Abraham passed on to him not just because he was Abraham's son, but because he, personally, loved and obeyed the Lord. God always blesses those children who love and obey Him. Isaac was not slothful or lazy either. Though he inherited covenant blessings from his father, yet, he worked very hard. Our Bible passage confirms that God blessed Isaac more and more. It is not enough to know and quote the promises of God for Him to bless you. If you know all the promises of God in your heart and fold your arms and do not work, the blessings of God's provision may not come. Isaac had all-round blessings. *The same God who promises to make you the head and not the tail, is the same who has warned us not to be slothful in business; but rather, consider the ants who work hard at the right time. None of the prophets gave comprehensive information on any of the subjects except those given by Jesus Christ and John the Beloved on the Island of Patmos. However, combining the revelation of those prophets will give a more comprehensive information of the things that must shortly come to pass. The closing verses of Joel present a prophetic picture of the events that will culminate in God's final judgment and the establishment of His righteous kingdom. These are not uncertain predictions, but divine decrees that must come to pass according to God's eternal purpose. The passage reminds believers that history is moving toward God's appointed climax, where every individual and nation will give an account before Him. Therefore, the wise prepare themselves spiritually, remain faithful and confidently await the fulfilment of God's promises. *1. The Determinate Valley of Decision* a. God created man as a free moral agent and therefore, he is expected to make his decisions and be fully responsible for his decisions. God only gives the needed information and persuades people to choose right and in the light of eternity. He told Israel as He still tells all today, *". I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: ".* Decision always determine destiny. Right and divinely informed decisions will lead to eternal life while carefree and selfish decisions will lead to eternal damnation. In the text, the prophet was made to see far into *"the day of the LORD"* and into the valley of decision. *"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision..."*. *The day of the LORD* describes the gathering of nations before God's judgment. Decisions are both ways. Man must make His decision before that day when God will make His decision as to what to do with the wicked. The "valley of decision" is where people seal their choices after their decisions and where God pronounces His irreversible verdict. *The day of the LORD* is certain and no sinner will escape His righteous judgment. b. God always gives opportunities for people to make their decision and He also will judge all base on their personal and individual decisions made. While God's grace is available today, the opportunity to repent will not remain forever. Every person must respond to Christ before the day of divine judgment arrives. It was not only Joel that had the vision of impending judgment of nations and individuals. Virtually, most the prophets saw it and it is irreversible. It will happen. *Question* Are you living each day with the consciousness that you will one day stand before God's judgment seat? *2. The Deadly Visions of Destruction* a. Joel portrays terrifying cosmic disturbances: *". The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. "*. This has to do with the event at the Great Tribulation period preceding the Second Coming of Christ. Jesus confirmed it in Matthew 24:21,27-30. These signs reveal the majesty and holiness of God as He judges evil. The wrath of God during the Great Tribulation will be so fearful that *"the heavens and the earth shall shake"*. b. The prophet concentrates on the fate of Israel as a nation during this period. *"The LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel"*. Israel will be protected from the wicked onslaught of the Antichrist. Though the wicked will do wickedly, God's people will find refuge in Him. God's people will always be given shelter, protection and refuge from His wrath and the wickedness of the wicked.The same Lord who shakes heaven and earth is the secure shelter of those who trust Him. His judgment is dreadful for sinners, but comforting for the righteous. God is always our refuge in trouble. *Question* Is the Lord your refuge or are you relying on temporary earthly securities? *3.The Divine Visitations According to Decisions* a. The decisions people make will determine God's response to them. Every decision you make at any instance either draws you closer to God or farther away from God. Be always mindful of your decisions. Egypt and Edom will become desolate during the Millennial reign of Christ *"because they have shed innocent blood in their land"*. It is the opposite of the holy Jerusalem because they will be cleansed of their sins. In the time of the Millennial reign of Christ, there will be abundant prosperity, the visible presence of God and unlimited blessings for the godly. *"The mountains shall drop down......and the hills shall flow with milk"*. God's visitations are consistent with His justice: He rewards faithfulness and judges rebellion. Eternal blessing belongs to those who belong to Him. b. The wicked may appear to prosper and enjoy this world, but their end is regret, sorrow and judgment of God. The righteous may appear to lack and righteousness may not be fashionable in the land, but the righteous will always have the last laugh if they can endure faithfully to the end. *Question* Are your daily decisions leading you toward God's eternal blessings or toward His judgment? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, help me to live every day in readiness for the coming Day of the Lord and to remain faithful until the end 🙏. 2.Father, be my refuge and strength in every trial and preserve me from the judgments coming upon the world 🙏. 3.Lord, let my decisions always align with Your perfect will so that I will enjoy Your favour and everlasting blessings 🙏. 4.Father, establish Your righteousness in our lives, keep us steadfast in Christ, make and keep us ready for Your glorious kingdom 🙏. *HYMN:* Have you counted the cost *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EXODUS 20-22.
