"FREEDOM FROM SEXUAL ADDICTION" ‘…Help us for the glory of your name…’ Psalms 79:9 NLT FOR FIFTEEN years, Mike Cleveland, airline pilot and founder of ‘Setting Captives Free,’ seemed powerless as his addiction to online pornography devastated his life, his marriage and his family. The spiral of lust enslaved him ‘until there wasn’t a moment of his days free from its tortured domination.’ The cycle of prayers for deliverance, followed by repeated indulgence in porn, XXX DVDs, and sex chat-rooms, plunged him deeper into the darkness of despair and He longed to escape the slimy, secluded underworld of secret soul-destroying sin, but every pathetic attempt left him unchanged, unhinged, and uncertain that freedom was possible for him. Mike turned to self-help books, counsellors and friends without success. His repeated disappointment, when every effort failed, led to increasing guilt and self-incrimination. When his wife insisted on a last-ditch visit to see her pastor (all other remedies had been exhausted), the lights in their bleak prison cell suddenly came on. Mike learned that ‘…deliverance belong(s) to the Lord’ (Jonah 2:9 AMP), and its rules are all dictated by Him. Mike’s old motivations for getting clean—‘saving my marriage for my kids’ sake; I’m a Christian, a seminary graduate and preacher’—were full of ‘loopholes and escape clauses’ and produced one botched disaster after another. His pastor taught him that the only viable motivation for getting clean and staying clean was a commitment to glorifying God in all of his decisions, because God delivers the powerless, ‘For the glory of [His] name.’ When Mike learned, ‘…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God’ (1Corinthians 10:31 NIV), the doors to freedom from years of sexual addiction began to open. [19/08, 8:10 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* THURSDAY, 20TH AUGUST, 2026. *FROM FAME TO SHAME* *TEXT:* JOSHUA 7:1-6. 7 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel. 2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai. 3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few. 4 So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai. 5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water. 6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. *Timeless Truth:*_"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump"_ (1 Corinthians 5:9). *INTRODUCTION* Israel had just experienced a remarkable victory at Jericho. The intimidating walls had fallen, the people had rejoiced, and Joshua’s leadership had received great honour. *"So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noise throughout all the country"* (Joshua 6:27). Yet, within a short time, that fame turned into shame. It is noteworthy that Israel never lost any battle either under Moses or under Joshua. It was natural for them to think that experience is the best teacher. The text shows clearly the danger of leaning only on experience when it comes to spiritual battles. God must continue to lead and the Word of God must remain final. The text teaches us that yesterday’s victory does not guarantee today’s success when there is hidden disobedience. Sin in the camp can turn triumph into tragedy. God desires not only victorious people, but also holy people. *1. Stealing Cursed Properties* a. *"For the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing"*. A glorious and happy journey suddenly turned sour and sorrowful because of sin. Many great men have also fallen from glory to grass just because of a single sin that became public.One man sinned and the whole nation suffered for it. The army that the whole Canaanites dreaded and could not conquer was conquered by the sin of a single rebel. Obviously, the tempter and demons had a field day. Achan was guilty of stealing what did not belong to him. That was disobedience to one of the ten commandments, *"thou shalt not steal"*. He did not just steal what belonged to his neighbours, which was equally sin, he stole classified materials that God called accursed and those that were to be reserved for God in His sanctuary. He did not feign ignorance when caught, he knew it was forbidden. He went deeper in his sin by hiding it from people until the knock of death became real. God had expressly commanded Israel concerning the devoted things of Jericho. *"And ye shall in any wise keep yourself from accursed thing, lest ye make yourself accursed..."* (Joshua 6:1). Achan secretly took what God had forbidden. He thought since nobody saw it, God could not have seen it either. His private sin produced public consequences: *“the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.”* b. Achan’s action reminds us that what is obtained through disobedience cannot produce lasting blessings. Hidden sin may remain concealed from people, but nothing is hidden from God. The desire for material gain can lead a person from honour to disgrace, from victory to defeat and from fame to shame. Sin will turn fame to shame overnight no matter how long it can be hidden. There are some shame that can never be taken away. Some people's sins are revealed after death and they bring a lot of shame on themselves and their families. The sin of a single person can bring a whole family, church and nation into unlimited ridicule and defeat. *"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump"*. There must be care and watchfulness against all forms of sins so as to avoid community, church or societal judgment. Partnership and marriage with accursed and demonized people have deadly consequences and should be avoided. *Question* Is there anything in my life that I have acquired or retained contrary to God’s command? *2. Self-Confidence and Pride* a. Israel had so far won all their battles. Jericho had a population of between 1,200 and 3,000 and yet they had to allow God to guide and lead them. As few as they were, the whole army of Israel was involved. The population of Ai was about 12,000. Shouldn't they ask for guidance as usual? They resorted to recommendations of experience without checking up from God. Unconsciously, pride of past successes results in self confidence. The spies returned with confidence, suggesting that only a small force was needed for such a large city. They thought it was their wisdom and might that had earned them a former victory. Their assessment overlooked the most important factor—the presence and favour of God. They trusted their own strength rather than seeking God's direction. Consequently, about three thousand men went to battle and were defeated. b. Success can sometimes produce overconfidence, making us forget that every victory comes from God. *"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will trust the name of the LORD"*. Pride as a result of past victory or success are natural reactions that must be deliberately avoided. Human strength, experience, position, wealth and reputation cannot substitute for dependence upon the Lord. *Question* Am I depending more on my past achievements and personal ability than on God? *3. Supplication with Crying after Defeat* a. The shame and defeat brought Joshua to his knees to do what he should have done before sending 3000 for the battle. If he had prayed, remained spiritually sensitive and heard from God, God would have told him not to proceed on the battle, but to settle the issue on ground first. On the other hand, we must commend Joshua for not being touchy. He could have blamed the spies for underestimating the population of Ai. He could have blamed the defeated soldiers for being careless and not smart enough. Joshua did not do that. He could see abnormality and spiritual implications in the unusual and unexpected defeat. When strange things happen to us contrary to the Word and promise of God, we should learn to see the face of God and hear His Word on the matter. b. Israel’s defeat brought fear, discouragement and deep sorrow. Joshua tore his clothes and fell before the Ark of the LORD with the elders, putting dust upon their heads. His response shows that when God's people experience defeat, they must turn to God in humility and supplication. Prayer should not merely be our response after failure; it should be our posture before every major undertaking. Nevertheless, even in defeat, God can reveal the cause of the problem and lead His people back to restoration. The place of brokenness can become the beginning of renewed obedience. *Question* When I experience failure or defeat, do I genuinely seek God for correction and restoration? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, give me grace to reject every form of disobedience and to flee from every forbidden thing. Against God's command, he had taken some of the spoils from Jericho. And worse was his attempt to cover up the sin by hiding the stolen spoil under the earth in his tent. The consequence of this was the humiliating, ignominious defeat of Israel at Ai, the death of thirty-six valiant men, and the sombre, ominous shadow of failure cast over the camp of God's chosen people. This disaster in battle, on the path of Joshua, led to humiliation, self-examination, prayer and faith, and finally to victory.* *Joshua embarked on an awfully painful search and recovery. This is the gist of our text. The magnified leader is now mortified, but he refrained from maligning God. Self-emptied, self-humiliated and broken, Joshua's primary concerns were twofold: loss of innocent Israelites and the tender regard for the honour of God's name. He wailed: "O Lord, what will thou do unto thy great name?" He conceded both justice and wisdom to God. Neither did he blame the spies he sent out for furnishing the nation with supposedly inaccurate security reports. Nor did he castigate the soldiers who were defeated in battle for cowardice. Joshua did not underestimate the deadliness of sin. He wisely resorted to the only window left, namely, mercy, as a solution to the present crisis.* *The only option you have when ensnared in sin is a broken and contrite heart. JAMES DOBSON ON PARENTING (3)" ‘…Bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.’ Ephesians 6:4 NIV WHEN ASKED, ‘How do you suggest parents handle their children’s activities on web sites like Facebook and Twitter?’ Dr. Dobson gave this advice: ‘Parents have to know what technology their kids are using. Sexting is a terrible thing. (‘Sexting’ is the new term for children exposing themselves to one another online, thinking they are safe because they are in the sanctuary of their own home.) Pornography is pervasive, and parents need to keep up with changes in technology and protect their kids. That’s a tough assignment, because kids are ahead of them. Parents often have extremely demanding careers and when they come home they have nothing left to give, so the culture will often take your kids to hell.’ One night a father and his daughter were out on a lake when their small boat was caught in a storm. As he rowed, Dad kept saying to his daughter, ‘Can you see the shore? Can you see the shore?’ After a terrifying hour the little girl pointed over her dad’s shoulder and said, ‘Yes, I see the light. [17/08, 9:11 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* TUESDAY, 18TH AUGUST, 2026. *THIRSTING AFTER GOD* *TEXT:* PSALM 42:1-5. 1As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. 5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. *Timeless Truth:*_"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;"_ Psalm 63:1). *INTRODUCTION* When a man ceases to experience thirst, he is as good as dead. The same is true in the spiritual. In fact, one of the first experiences of a converted man is thirst for God and spiritual things. Spiritual thirst is a deep longing for God and His presence. Just as the body cannot survive without water, the soul cannot flourish without God. The psalmist expresses an intense desire for the living God despite the pain, tears, discouragement and difficult circumstances surrounding him. His experience teaches us that genuine faith does not mean the absence of trouble; rather, it means learning to seek God even in the midst of trouble. When everything else fails, God remains the only lasting satisfaction for the thirsty soul. *1. Thirsting After God Like a Hart* a. The psalmist declares, *“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”* A thirsty hart desperately seeks water because its survival depends upon it. Many are thirsty for wealth, pleasure, popularity, power and pride of life among others. The thirst makes them pay a heavy price to get what they are looking for. At times they pay the ultimate price. True thirst will always be demonstrated by desperate seeking for how to satisfy and quench the thirst. In the same vein, many commonly seek God's blessings without seeking for the God of the blessings. The psalmist case was different. *"So panteth my soul after thee"*. Who and what you are passionately and desperately seeking for is a reflection of the state of your heart. In the same manner, the believer should have an earnest and persistent longing for God. The psalmist does not merely desire God's gifts; he desires God Himself. b. His greatest hunger is to *“appear before God.”* He was thirsty to become closer to God. Jesus also echoed this when He said, *"seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness"*. Our ultimate purpose for seeking God was to see His glory, be conformed to His image and be always ready for the kingdom of God. Jesus further assured that *"all other things shall be added unto you"*. The psalmist demonstrated his thirst for God when he decided, *"early will I seek thee...to see thy power and thy glory as I have seen thee in the sanctuary"* (Psalm 63:1,2). Our spiritual lives become weak when our desire for God is replaced by the pursuit of worldly pleasures, possessions, recognition or human approval. Genuine revival begins when the soul cries out for God's presence, His Word, His holiness and fellowship with Him. *Question* Is my desire for God as deep and urgent as the thirst of a hart for water? *2. Tearful Afflictions Giving Loss of Hope* a. Incidentally, the psalmist did not prioritize seeking for heavenly blessings above seeking for God just because everything was going well with him. In fact, the psalmist's circumstances have become so painful that his tears have been his food day and night. He was not finding it rosy in life at that time. One would have expected him, as many worshippers do today, to concentrate on seeking God for release from pains and troubles as priority. Worse still, people around him mockingly asked, directly and indirectly, *“Where is thy God?”.* His memories of former worship and joyful fellowship with God's people intensify his present sorrow. Yet that did not distract his affections towards God. b. At times, affliction can attack not only our circumstances, but also our emotions and confidence. Yet the psalmist's tears reveal that God's children may experience seasons of deep discouragement without being abandoned by God. His pain was real, but it did not have the final word. Even when circumstances seem to contradict God's promises, faith must continue to look toward Him. Seeking God and His righteousness, above all else, should not be diminished as a result of our pains, problems, persecutions and poverty among others. Whatever be our situations, the promises of God that *"all other blessings shall be added"* still stand as long as we keep seeking the face and the glory of God to be reflected in our lives above all else. We must have grace to be tougher than our tough challenges. It is our attitude and the content of our prayers in the time of distress and difficulties that reflect the genuineness of our love for God. Jesus Christ, while on the cross and under intense pains, was still consecrated to soulwinning and intercessory prayers for the sinners and the lost. The will of God and the glory of God was His priority. He has given us examples to follow. *Question* Am I consecrated to seek God and His glory as priority when affliction and tears surround me? *3. Trust in Abiding Grace with a Life of Holiness* When passing through tough times, we must maintain trust in God's abundant grace and continue to live the life that God approves. There is no challenge we pass through that God has not allowed and if God allowed it, then He will see us through as children. The act of faith is in mocking those challenges and still continues seeking the glory of God and heavenly readiness. We must learn how to feed our frustrations and fruitlessness with the word of hope and promises given by God. The psalmist speaks directly to his troubled soul: *“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God.”* He refuses to surrender permanently to despair. Instead, he deliberately redirects his heart toward God. Trusting God's abiding grace means choosing hope when feelings say there is no hope. It also means continuing to live faithfully, before God while waiting for His intervention. A thirsty soul must not only seek God's presence, but also remain committed to a holy life. God's grace sustains us, restores our joy and enables us to praise Him even before our circumstances change. Awakened by the testimonies of God's faithfulness and the certainty of blessedness that flows from trust in God, he gladly addresses his soul and jerks back from the abyss of despondency.* *Are you troubled about any ugly situation or setback? Cheer up and look up! Here are gems and clues for you as a Christian pilgrim, who could, at times, be discouraged and cast down. Don't stay down. David didn't. He queried and counselled his soul. First is to know that neither discouragement nor despondency is a sign of weakness. Elijah is one biblical character who fits this description. After defeating the prophets of Baal, he received a death threat from Jezebel. His hope was shattered, and despondency set in. He wanted to die! The Lord did not rebuke him for his feelings but sent an angel to provide for his physical needs. In our times of discouragement, suicide is no option; it only leads to a more serious, endless and interminable suffering in hell. The present challenge or problem has not diminished God's love for us. He desires to lead us to a place of a renewed vision of His power!* *The time to exit the discouragement mode is now! Take the verifiable steps that effectively log you out, which include a deep, interminable longing for God. This is what Isaiah calls "waiting upon the Lord". God can use dreams for many purposes. Here are four biblical ways He speaks through them. 1 –God Can Impart Through Dreams In 1 Kings 3:5–12, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream and invited him to ask for whatever he desired. Solomon asked for an understanding heart so that he could lead God’s people well and distinguish between right and wrong. The Lord was pleased with his request and gave him extraordinary wisdom. Solomon did not merely dream about God—he encountered God in his dream. What happened while he slept resulted in a genuine impartation that affected his waking life. There have been times when I sensed the Holy Spirit’s presence intensely in a dream and then awakened with that same sense of His presence in the room. A dream can become a genuine place of encounter. God can impart wisdom, courage, direction, or spiritual strength through it. 2 –God Can Reveal the Future Through Dreams Genesis 41 records Pharaoh’s troubling dreams and Joseph’s God-given interpretation. The dreams revealed that seven years of prosperity would be followed by seven years of famine. Because God revealed what was coming, Egypt was able to prepare. God can reveal future events through dreams. Sometimes, He may show you something before it happens; at other times, He may confirm what He has already been speaking to your heart. Years ago, at about age ten, I had a dream in which I saw an old man carrying a load in a "Ghana Must Go" bag. I took the load from the old man and walked with him for a distance. At a point , he asked me to put the load down, and when I did, he opened the bag; it was full of Bibles. He gave me one of them and told me to cherish it. He then said he could carry on from that point. He moved a distance away and vanished into thin air. In another dream at a different time, I was given Genesis 17:1–4. In a third dream, a well-built man in a white robe came to me and gave me a briefcase, telling me to guard it well, as everything in it was for me. I opened it and found a Bible and a white handkerchief with a dove drawn at the center, inscribed with the words "Holy Spirit." When I shared these dreams, I was told God would use me. Since then, God has used dreams to show me what lies ahead, what is present, and even what is in the past that needs to be unraveled. 3 –God Can Reveal Important Information After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him it was safe to return to Israel with Mary and Jesus (Matthew 2:19–20). The dream provided the information Joseph needed for a decision in that moment. Daniel also declared, “But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future” (Daniel 2:28, NLT). The Holy Spirit may reveal a missing piece of information, bring clarity to something you have been sensing, or expose a matter that needs prayer. But dreams must never make you paranoid or suspicious of everyone around you. Do not make accusations or major decisions based on a dream alone. Remain discerning, levelheaded, prayerful, and submitted to Scripture. 4 –God Can Warn Through Dreams God may use a dream to warn you about physical danger, spiritual attack, a damaging decision, or a difficult season ahead. Sometimes a warning calls you to act; other times, it simply calls you to pray and prepare. In Genesis 15:12–14, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a terrifying darkness came over him. God warned him that his descendants would be oppressed for 400 years, but He also promised to judge the nation that enslaved them and bring His people out with great wealth. This passage corrects a common misconception: a dream from God will not always feel pleasant. A warning may produce a serious or even troubling emotional response. The presence of a negative emotion does not automatically prove that a dream is not from God. The more important questions are whether the message agrees with Scripture and whether it ultimately leads you toward faith, obedience, prayer, and redemption. God bless you!

TOPIC: WHERE IS YOUR ETERNAL DESTINATION? Bible Text: “For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.” — Hebrews 13:14 There is something very peculiar about this world that calls for a sober mood of reflection before God, and should leave every mortal conscience awakened unto God, to live before Him in utmost awe and reverence: Every day, a child must lose a mother or father. Every day, a wife must lose a husband, every day, a husband must lose a wife, every day, a parent must lose a child. A sister must lose a brother, and a brother must lose a sister. A relation must lose a relation. A family must lose a family member. A friend must lose a friend. Colleagues must lose a colleague in an organization, and so on and so forth. And this happens daily, all over the world and throughout the human race, yet many see it simply as a way of life or say, “Life happens.” Yet every day, a child is born into the world, and every day, a human being leaves this world. This is a mystery. And someone will still say there is no God? The mystery behind it is incomprehensible to man. This tells us that the world is temporal. People live and leave. They come and go. But God is man's final Destination. The question is: Where? Heaven or Hell—eternity has a destination. Make the wise choice. Make God your Eternal Destination, and let your final home be with Him in Heaven. God's Loving Heart.

Thankful Thursday Morning Prayer “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.” — Psalm 92:1 (KJV) Heavenly Father, on this Thankful Thursday morning, we enter Your presence with grateful hearts and praise upon our lips. Thank You for watching over us throughout the night and touching us with Your hand of mercy this morning. Thank You for the breath in our bodies, the strength to rise, and the blessing of seeing another day. Before we ask You for anything, Lord, we pause to thank You for everything. Thank You for being our Savior, Protector, Provider, Healer, Comforter, and closest Friend. Thank You for loving us when we were difficult to love, forgiving us when we fell short, and remaining faithful even when our faith became weak. Your Word declares, “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23). Father, thank You for every prayer You answered and every blessing You released. Thank You also for the prayers You answered differently than we expected. We now understand that some closed doors were Your protection, some delays were Your preparation, and some disappointments were Your divine redirection. Thank You for what You allowed, what You prevented, and what You are still working together for our good. Lord, forgive us for the times we complained about what was missing while overlooking what remained. Forgive us for focusing on our burdens more than Your faithfulness. Give us eyes to recognize Your goodness in the ordinary blessings—the food on our tables, clothing on our bodies, roofs over our heads, family and friends, moments of peace, and strength to keep moving forward. We may not possess everything we desire, but we thank You that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). Thank You for sustaining us through seasons we thought would destroy us. We have been wounded, but You healed us. We have been discouraged, but You strengthened us. We have experienced loss, but You comforted us. We have faced uncertainty, but You continued to guide us. When we could not trace Your hand, You taught us to trust Your heart. When our strength was gone, Your grace proved sufficient. Father, we place this entire day into Your hands. Go before us and make every crooked path straight. Order our steps, guide our decisions, govern our conversations, and protect us from dangers seen and unseen. Cover our homes, families, workplaces, schools, churches, vehicles, finances, health, and everything connected to us. Let no weapon formed against us prosper, and bring every plan of the enemy to nothing. Lord, bless every member of our family. Strengthen marriages, restore relationships, protect our children, encourage our seniors, and draw every unsaved loved one into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Bring peace where there is conflict, understanding where there is confusion, forgiveness where there is offense, and unity where division has entered. Remember those who awakened this morning carrying silent burdens. Touch those battling sickness, chronic pain, cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, dementia, depression, anxiety, addiction, or any condition known or unknown. Give wisdom to doctors, nurses, caregivers, and medical professionals. Let Your healing power flow, for Your Word declares, “I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26). Comfort every grieving heart and remind them that You are “a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Provide employment for those seeking work, financial relief for struggling households, shelter for the displaced, food for the hungry, and hope for those who feel forgotten. Open doors that no person can shut, and release resources from unexpected places. Father, strengthen Your Church. Bless pastors, ministers, leaders, missionaries, and every servant laboring for Your Kingdom. Give them wisdom, integrity, endurance, and fresh anointing. Let our churches be houses of prayer, healing, truth, love, deliverance, and salvation. Help us not merely to speak about Your goodness but to demonstrate it through compassion and service. Teach us to live thankfully—not only when life is easy, but also when the road is difficult. Your Word commands us, “In every thing give thanks” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Therefore, we will thank You in the waiting, praise You through the struggle, and trust You in uncertainty. Our circumstances may change, but Your character never will. You are still good, still faithful, still sovereign, and still worthy of all our praise. Let gratitude guide our attitude throughout this day. May our words bring healing, our actions show kindness, and our lives point others toward Jesus. Keep murmuring and negativity far from us. Place a new song in our hearts so that wherever we go, we carry Your peace, display Your joy, and testify of Your faithfulness. We thank You in advance for today’s protection, provision, divine appointments, unexpected blessings, restored strength, and answered prayers. Whatever this Thursday brings, we will not fear, because You are with us. We will rejoice and say, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). Remember when we trusted these strap lines? Not anymore; it’s not the same world. Financial uncertainty characterises today’s world of failing banks, crumbling investment giants, shrinking multinational corporations, swelling queues of the under-employed and unemployed, plus an epidemic of fear plaguing the hearts of the currently-employed. For the young, the joy of graduation has become the stress of university debts and a shrinking job market. Many older people are trading in their retirement dreams for a new twenty-first century reality: ‘work till you drop.’ In such times, where can we turn? To politicians? To government? To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? Turn to the only reliable source of security: God! There’s no financial crisis in His kingdom! Israel hungered and thirsted and He sent them fresh manna, and water from the rock. He assigned ravens to feed Elijah, multiplied oil and flour to sustain a destitute widow’s family, fed thousands from a boy’s lunch of five loaves and two fish. And He asks us: ‘…is anything too difficult for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27 NAS). No! So: 1) Trust God to provide for you. 2) Do what He tells you to do. 3) Believe that God ‘will.’ ‘The lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field. [07/08, 10:13 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* SATURDAY, 8TH AUGUST, 2026. *AND THE LEADERS ALSO?* *TEXT:* MICAH 3:1-12. 1And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? 2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; 3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. 4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. 5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. 6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. 8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. 9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. 10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. 12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. *Timeless Truth:*_"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of your paths"_ (Isaiah 3:12). *INTRODUCTION* Leadership has a vital role in the social, family and spiritual well being of a society that cannot be substituted with any other institution. Divine messages, no matter how powerful and impactful, will have its impact short-lived when there is a weak leadership in place. Speaking the truth wisely, humbly and lovingly to power is part of the responsibilities of saints and true ministers of the Gospel. The text records the prophet Micah's fierce condemnation of the corrupt leaders, judges, priests and false prophets of Israel and Judah, culminating in the prophecy that Jerusalem and the Temple mount would be completely destroyed and plowed like a field. Unlike the case of many prophets, the people at the time of Hezekiah listened to Micah and this caused a revival as a result of the godly leadership of Hezekiah. 100 years later, the people still remembered the revival effect of his speaking to power. It is not all the time leaders will be rebellious against the Word of God. This was what they said when people wanted to put Jeremiah to death about 100 years later: *"Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him (Micah) at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls"* (Jeremiah 26:18-19). Preachers and saints should preach and proclaim the Word of God with hope, faith, love and optimism. *1. The Evil-Loving Princes* a. The princes and judges were expected to enforce the truth in the land. So they were expected to know the truth in the first place. *"O heads of Jacob. Is it not for you to know judgment?"*. But what happened in reality, they hated the good and loved evil? Can you imagine how they would reign? *"Who hate the good, and love the evil"*. Such was the terrible state of Israel and Judah. They became oppressors and predators who made life unbearable for the sheep. *"Who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones"*. They exploited the innocent and the poor. Those who do evil and are able to bribe their ways are justified while the innocent and the poor are cheated and oppressed as guilty. While they may profess and pretend that they love good and are enforcing justice, their secret heart and actions do the opposite. As a result, the law for the poor is different, in operation, from the law for the rich and the great. They make life difficult and painful for the vulnerable. b. They are not going to escape divine judgments though it appears they live large and all is going on well with them and their families. Their end will always be full of regrets, with their families, except there is total and full repentance. On the day of their calamities, *"they shall cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings"*. What a great disgrace in spite of the glowing the gowns of the godly and the great when God is not with them and neither hear their prayers when they in turn are oppressed by the oppressors that are greater than them. The oppressors may be stronger humans, demons, incurable sicknesses and diseases among others. *Question* Are you an oppressive leader or a just and true godly leader? *2. The Error Launching Prophets* a. The next set of leaders Micah prophesied to were religious leaders. *"Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace"*. These prophets never preach of judgment or hell fire. They feign to be more compassionate and loving than God that they are scared from preaching on the coming and certain judgment coming on the evil doers. They want people to be happy though they are doing evil. They specialize only in preaching love, comfort and things that make people happy. They don't want to offend or see the frown of the wicked. Are these religious leaders Christlike? Jesus Christ preached about hell fire more than any preacher in the Bible. He did not preach to condemn, but to warn the hearers to repent from their sins. So after preaching about Judgment, He showed them the way of escape. After preaching about the judgment to come, Micah, as a balanced prophet, used the Word of God to prophesy mercy, comfort and forgiveness to those who were sincerely repentant. *"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort"*. Edification, exhortation and comfort are for the repentant who have decided to count the cost and burn the bridge behind them and follow Christ. b. There is also judgment for those backsliding prophets. They cannot escape. God strikes where it pains most. The prophets pride themselves in being close to God and receiving the visions of God. But God will ensure that they lose spiritual insight, spiritual authority and cease to have real visions of God from the altar. Their backslidings shall be visible to all those who are discerning. *"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine"*. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*. *Question* Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing? *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers* a. Micah proved himself to be a true and uncompromising proclaimer of the truth. His effectiveness was clearly manifested through the revival that happened during the reign of Hezekiah when he ministered. Furthermore, his work was so enduring that 100 years later his ministry, his messages remained a reference point. What was the secret of a successful end-time proclaimer of the truth? *"But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin"*. He did not just have the power of the Holy Ghost, he was full of it. Man does not want his evil to be revealed. In most cases they hide under the curtain to do their evil. The person who will declare their sins and bring it to open needs uncommon boldness and courage. This cannot be overemphasized when people are deep and hardened in their sins with the tendency to do violence against the Word of God and against the proclaimers. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is the answer to courageous and fearless declaration of the sins and evils of the people. He condemned the injustice of the kings and princes: *"Princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity"*. The practices of their judges were also perverted and were condemnable. *"The heads thereof judge for reward"*. What of the religious leaders? They have commercialized their spiritual assignments. *"And the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money"*. They made their sins difficult to detect by camouflaging with ecclesiastical appearance to deceive that they were close to God and acceptable by God. *"They lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us"*. Their confessions of faith turned out to be self confidence and deception. b. Micah was clear about the judgment that would follow though it was not palatable: Zion and Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed. The truth from the godly proclaimer brought conviction of sin and produced repentance and revival under the reign of King Hezekiah. Nothing but the truth is the hope of mankind today. *Question* Are you a non-compromising proclaimer of the truth of the Word of God? *Prayer Points* 1.Ask for forgiveness where you have failed God and promise to be another Micah for Christ🙏. 2.Pray that God will visit and restore all our compromised and backslidden children and ministers of God 🙏. 3.Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to declare and expose sins to fill all our ministers of the Gospel afresh 🙏. 4.Pray that our messages will bear the expected fruit of repentance and our leaders and rulers will love good and hate evil and be awakened to righteousness 🙏. *HYMN:* Is your life a channel of Blessing? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 18-20. What remains of that house now is known as "Simpson's Folly" - a heap of ruins on the beach.* *In today's text, the obstinate attitude of the Jewish leaders - both the princes and the prophets - is similar to that of Simpson. Prophet Micah decried, in the strongest terms, the egregious sins of these leaders who had actually become ringleaders. The princes or governors of the people had become so callous, covetous and corrupt that they were compared to ravenous animals. They shunned divine counsel and sued for wickedness, and God resolved that He would ignore their prayers. The so-called prophets in the land had become exploitative, fleecing, yet flattering the people. They chose to walk in darkness, and God decided He would keep them in the dark, shutting them out of divine revelation and inspiration. This terrible scenario provoked a holy zeal in Prophet Micah, who, full of power by the spirit of the LORD, denounced the people's transgressions, in contrast to the flattering prophets.* *The impunity of the ringleaders of Micah's day is not different from the prevailing disturbing carriage of today's greedy leaders and desperately materialistic and flattering so-called gospel ministers. These self-styled "prophets" are leading multitudes of ignorant people away to perdition. However, like the case of the corrupt prophets and seers of Micah's time, they will not escape God's righteous judgment, their self-deluding confidence notwithstanding.* *As you reflect on this matter, it is only fitting for you to examine your position on it. Are you part of the ringleaders? Are you deceived because of your penchant for flatteries? Why not learn from "Simpson's Folly"? On the other hand, are you spirit-filled and bold, like Micah, to declare the truth? Mr. Larry Biggie was warned severally by his family doctor to watch carefully over his heart's health by avoiding a bad lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. "WHERE’S YOUR FINANCIAL SECURITY?" ‘…riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generation Proverbs 27:24 NIV ONE LARGE insurance company advertises itself as ‘the Rock,’ claiming to be the foundation of your financial security. Remember when we trusted these strap lines? Not anymore; it’s not the same world. Financial uncertainty characterises today’s world of failing banks, crumbling investment giants, shrinking multinational corporations, swelling queues of the under-employed and unemployed, plus an epidemic of fear plaguing the hearts of the currently-employed. For the young, the joy of graduation has become the stress of university debts and a shrinking job market. Many older people are trading in their retirement dreams for a new twenty-first century reality: ‘work till you drop.’ In such times, where can we turn? To politicians? To government? To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? Turn to the only reliable source of security: God! There’s no financial crisis in His kingdom! Israel hungered and thirsted and He sent them fresh manna, and water from the rock. He assigned ravens to feed Elijah, multiplied oil and flour to sustain a destitute widow’s family, fed thousands from a boy’s lunch of five loaves and two fish. And He asks us: ‘…is anything too difficult for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27 NAS). No! The Error Launching Prophets* a. The next set of leaders Micah prophesied to were religious leaders. *"Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace"*. These prophets never preach of judgment or hell fire. They feign to be more compassionate and loving than God that they are scared from preaching on the coming and certain judgment coming on the evil doers. They want people to be happy though they are doing evil. They specialize only in preaching love, comfort and things that make people happy. They don't want to offend or see the frown of the wicked. Are these religious leaders Christlike? Jesus Christ preached about hell fire more than any preacher in the Bible. He did not preach to condemn, but to warn the hearers to repent from their sins. So after preaching about Judgment, He showed them the way of escape. After preaching about the judgment to come, Micah, as a balanced prophet, used the Word of God to prophesy mercy, comfort and forgiveness to those who were sincerely repentant. *"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort"*. Edification, exhortation and comfort are for the repentant who have decided to count the cost and burn the bridge behind them and follow Christ. b. There is also judgment for those backsliding prophets. They cannot escape. God strikes where it pains most. The prophets pride themselves in being close to God and receiving the visions of God. But God will ensure that they lose spiritual insight, spiritual authority and cease to have real visions of God from the altar. Their backslidings shall be visible to all those who are discerning. *"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine"*. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*. *Question* Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing? *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers* a. Micah proved himself to be a true and uncompromising proclaimer of the truth. His effectiveness was clearly manifested through the revival that happened during the reign of Hezekiah when he ministered. Furthermore, his work was so enduring that 100 years later his ministry, his messages remained a reference point. What was the secret of a successful end-time proclaimer of the truth? *"But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin"*. He did not just have the power of the Holy Ghost, he was full of it. Man does not want his evil to be revealed. In most cases they hide under the curtain to do their evil. The person who will declare their sins and bring it to open needs uncommon boldness and courage. This cannot be overemphasized when people are deep and hardened in their sins with the tendency to do violence against the Word of God and against the proclaimers. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is the answer to courageous and fearless declaration of the sins and evils of the people. He condemned the injustice of the kings and princes: *"Princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity"*. The practices of their judges were also perverted and were condemnable. *"The heads thereof judge for reward"*. What of the religious leaders? They have commercialized their spiritual assignments. *"And the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money"*. They made their sins difficult to detect by camouflaging with ecclesiastical appearance to deceive that they were close to God and acceptable by God. *"They lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us"*. Their confessions of faith turned out to be self confidence and deception. b. Micah was clear about the judgment that would follow though it was not palatable: Zion and Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed. The truth from the godly proclaimer brought conviction of sin and produced repentance and revival under the reign of King Hezekiah. Mr. Larry Biggie was warned severally by his family doctor to watch carefully over his heart's health by avoiding a bad lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Doing this will help him to keep his heart healthy and avoid a heart attack. However, Mr. Larry refused to stop eating junk food and smoking cigarettes. He kept a very bad and unhealthy lifestyle. One evening, he was just back from work when he suddenly grabbed his chest in pain and collapsed. He was admitted to a hospital's Intensive Care Unit where he spent about six months. Financial uncertainty characterises today’s world of failing banks, crumbling investment giants, shrinking multinational corporations, swelling queues of the under-employed and unemployed, plus an epidemic of fear plaguing the hearts of the currently-employed. For the young, the joy of graduation has become the stress of university debts and a shrinking job market. Many older people are trading in their retirement dreams for a new twenty-first century reality: ‘work till you drop.’ In such times, where can we turn? To politicians? To government? To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? Divine messages, no matter how powerful and impactful, will have its impact short-lived when there is a weak leadership in place. Speaking the truth wisely, humbly and lovingly to power is part of the responsibilities of saints and true ministers of the Gospel. The text records the prophet Micah's fierce condemnation of the corrupt leaders, judges, priests and false prophets of Israel and Judah, culminating in the prophecy that Jerusalem and the Temple mount would be completely destroyed and plowed like a field. Unlike the case of many prophets, the people at the time of Hezekiah listened to Micah and this caused a revival as a result of the godly leadership of Hezekiah. 100 years later, the people still remembered the revival effect of his speaking to power. It is not all the time leaders will be rebellious against the Word of God. As a result, the law for the poor is different, in operation, from the law for the rich and the great. They make life difficult and painful for the vulnerable. b. They are not going to escape divine judgments though it appears they live large and all is going on well with them and their families. Mr. Larry Biggie was warned severally by his family doctor to watch carefully over his heart's health by avoiding a bad lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Remember when we trusted these strap lines? Not anymore; it’s not the same world. Financial uncertainty characterises today’s world of failing banks, crumbling investment giants, shrinking multinational corporations, swelling queues of the under-employed and unemployed, plus an epidemic of fear plaguing the hearts of the currently-employed. For the young, the joy of graduation has become the stress of university debts and a shrinking job market. Many older people are trading in their retirement dreams for a new twenty-first century reality: ‘work till you drop.’ In such times, where can we turn? To politicians? To government? To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of your paths"_ (Isaiah 3:12). *INTRODUCTION* Leadership has a vital role in the social, family and spiritual well being of a society that cannot be substituted with any other institution. Divine messages, no matter how powerful and impactful, will have its impact short-lived when there is a weak leadership in place. Speaking the truth wisely, humbly and lovingly to power is part of the responsibilities of saints and true ministers of the Gospel. The text records the prophet Micah's fierce condemnation of the corrupt leaders, judges, priests and false prophets of Israel and Judah, culminating in the prophecy that Jerusalem and the Temple mount would be completely destroyed and plowed like a field. Unlike the case of many prophets, the people at the time of Hezekiah listened to Micah and this caused a revival as a result of the godly leadership of Hezekiah. 100 years later, the people still remembered the revival effect of his speaking to power. It is not all the time leaders will be rebellious against the Word of God. This was what they said when people wanted to put Jeremiah to death about 100 years later: *"Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him (Micah) at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls"* (Jeremiah 26:18-19). Preachers and saints should preach and proclaim the Word of God with hope, faith, love and optimism. *1. The Evil-Loving Princes* a. The princes and judges were expected to enforce the truth in the land. So they were expected to know the truth in the first place. *"O heads of Jacob. Is it not for you to know judgment?"*. But what happened in reality, they hated the good and loved evil? Can you imagine how they would reign? *"Who hate the good, and love the evil"*. Such was the terrible state of Israel and Judah. They became oppressors and predators who made life unbearable for the sheep. *"Who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones"*. They exploited the innocent and the poor. Those who do evil and are able to bribe their ways are justified while the innocent and the poor are cheated and oppressed as guilty. While they may profess and pretend that they love good and are enforcing justice, their secret heart and actions do the opposite. As a result, the law for the poor is different, in operation, from the law for the rich and the great. They make life difficult and painful for the vulnerable. b. They are not going to escape divine judgments though it appears they live large and all is going on well with them and their families. Their end will always be full of regrets, with their families, except there is total and full repentance. On the day of their calamities, *"they shall cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings"*. What a great disgrace in spite of the glowing the gowns of the godly and the great when God is not with them and neither hear their prayers when they in turn are oppressed by the oppressors that are greater than them. The oppressors may be stronger humans, demons, incurable sicknesses and diseases among others. *Question* Are you an oppressive leader or a just and true godly leader? *2. The Error Launching Prophets* a. The next set of leaders Micah prophesied to were religious leaders. *"Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace"*. These prophets never preach of judgment or hell fire. They feign to be more compassionate and loving than God that they are scared from preaching on the coming and certain judgment coming on the evil doers. They want people to be happy though they are doing evil. They specialize only in preaching love, comfort and things that make people happy. They don't want to offend or see the frown of the wicked. Are these religious leaders Christlike? Jesus Christ preached about hell fire more than any preacher in the Bible. He did not preach to condemn, but to warn the hearers to repent from their sins. So after preaching about Judgment, He showed them the way of escape. After preaching about the judgment to come, Micah, as a balanced prophet, used the Word of God to prophesy mercy, comfort and forgiveness to those who were sincerely repentant. *"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort"*. Edification, exhortation and comfort are for the repentant who have decided to count the cost and burn the bridge behind them and follow Christ. b. There is also judgment for those backsliding prophets. They cannot escape. God strikes where it pains most. The prophets pride themselves in being close to God and receiving the visions of God. But God will ensure that they lose spiritual insight, spiritual authority and cease to have real visions of God from the altar. Their backslidings shall be visible to all those who are discerning. *"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine"*. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*. *Question* Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing? *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers* a. Micah proved himself to be a true and uncompromising proclaimer of the truth. His effectiveness was clearly manifested through the revival that happened during the reign of Hezekiah when he ministered. Furthermore, his work was so enduring that 100 years later his ministry, his messages remained a reference point. What was the secret of a successful end-time proclaimer of the truth? *"But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin"*. He did not just have the power of the Holy Ghost, he was full of it. Man does not want his evil to be revealed. In most cases they hide under the curtain to do their evil. The person who will declare their sins and bring it to open needs uncommon boldness and courage. This cannot be overemphasized when people are deep and hardened in their sins with the tendency to do violence against the Word of God and against the proclaimers. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is the answer to courageous and fearless declaration of the sins and evils of the people. He condemned the injustice of the kings and princes: *"Princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity"*. The practices of their judges were also perverted and were condemnable. *"The heads thereof judge for reward"*. What of the religious leaders? They have commercialized their spiritual assignments. *"And the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money"*. They made their sins difficult to detect by camouflaging with ecclesiastical appearance to deceive that they were close to God and acceptable by God. *"They lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us"*. Their confessions of faith turned out to be self confidence and deception. b. Micah was clear about the judgment that would follow though it was not palatable: Zion and Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed. The truth from the godly proclaimer brought conviction of sin and produced repentance and revival under the reign of King Hezekiah. It is like an engine room where life-giving blood is pumped to all parts of the body. When the heart is well taken care of and healthy, the body is well, but if the heart is unhealthy, the body will be sick. Mr. Larry Biggie was warned severally by his family doctor to watch carefully over his heart's health by avoiding a bad lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Doing this will help him to keep his heart healthy and avoid a heart attack. However, Mr. Larry refused to stop eating junk food and smoking cigarettes. He kept a very bad and unhealthy lifestyle. One evening, he was just back from work when he suddenly grabbed his chest in pain and collapsed. He was admitted to a hospital's Intensive Care Unit where he spent about six months. After he was discharged, he stopped all the bad habits. He had learnt his lesson in a hard way. If it is so with the physical heart, it is much more important to keep our spiritual heart healthy. Everyone has the spiritual heart, of which the Bible warns that we should watch over and keep it with all diligence. Why? Because out of it comes every thought, decision, desire and purpose of life, whether good or bad. *You must therefore watch over your heart. Never allow bad and filthy thoughts and actions. Surrender your heart to Jesus for thorough cleansing with His precious blood.
