  • Two Words for Time That Changed How I Read the Gospels
English has one word for time. Greek has two, and the difference quietly transforms how we read the New Testament.
Chronos (χρόνος) is clock time. Measurable. Sequential. How long, how many days. It's where we get "chronology" and "chronicle."
Kairos (καιρός) is something harder to pin down — the appointed moment, the right time, time loaded with meaning rather than just duration. Ancient Greeks used it in archery: the precise instant to release the arrow. Miss it, and the shot is lost.
The Gospel writers knew exactly which word to reach for.
When Mark opens Jesus' ministry, he doesn't write "after a long time had passed." He writes: "The kairos is fulfilled" (Mark 1:15). Not a clock announcement — a cosmic one. The entire arc of Israel's story had been moving toward this moment. The bow is fully drawn. The arrow released.
Paul says something similar in Galatians 4:4 — "when the fullness of time (χρόνος) came, God sent forth His Son." Sequential time had been running its course until it tipped over (“filled to the brim”) into the appointed moment.
Even after the resurrection, this holds. Jesus appears in locked rooms, on unrecognised roads, at a dawn shoreline — no chronos-logic, no schedule. Every appearance is a kairos: wounds touched, doubts met, a commission at shore. Nothing accidental. Jesus operates in kairos — in divinely appointed, irreversible moments of significance.
And at Pentecost, Peter quotes Joel — "In the last days..." The kairos hasn't closed. It has opened wider. We live, as it were, in the tension between kairos fulfilled and kairos approaching.
Most of us live almost entirely in chronos — anxious about time running out, frustrated by delays, measuring life in deadlines. But maybe the more important question isn't how much time I have?
Maybe it's — is this the moment?
Has there been a kairos in your own life — a moment that felt charged, significant, like something was being decided?
    I'd love to hear.

  • Psalm 75:2 You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity.

This psalm was written to be sung by Asaph’s choir and was used in times of threat or as celebration for deliverance. It begins with a declaration of praise and then follows today’s verse.

In this verse, we have God speaking to us directly. We see Him stating that He chooses the time. But what is He referring to when He says “the appointed time?” In this instance, we turn to the context to help guide our interpretation and determine what is being said. The sentence continues after the semicolon - it is He Who judges. So we see that it is God Who determines the appropriate time for judgement.

The appointed time that God speaks of is not to be interpreted literally as per our calendars (the Hebrew word chronos is used to refer to our earthly, measurable calendars). Instead, He speaks of a divine timing (the word kairos, something we cannot measure because only He knows that time). We must remember that justice from the Lord will most likely not come when we want it to but it will come in His divine timing. We see the Hebrew word shaphat used, which means to govern, vindicate, punish, or decide a case. It is the root word for “I will judge.” He says “I WILL,” a promise that He will step in and do something. He WILL do it. He WILL judge. He WILL serve justice where needed.

We can rest in the assurance that we have a Father Who loves us and wants to provide for us, which includes justice. No matter what is going on in the world, no matter how many struggles we face in our life, and no matter how arrogant and self-centered we may be at the time, God will step in and execute a fair and righteous judgement in His timing. This is guaranteed and something we shouldn’t worry about.

Until that time, we should be living a life that is righteous. Confess your sins, repent of them and change your ways. And trust that He will step in and render justice where due, in HIS timing, not our own.

THE TRAGEDY OF MISPLACED SLUMBER: MASTERING THE RHYTHM OF SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY
    Broadcast Date: May 17, 2026
Topic: The Gethsemane Paradox: Sleeping Through the Preparation, Panicking in the Crisis
    Scripture Foundation: Matthew 26:40-41, 45-47; Luke 22:45-46
    THE OUT-OF-SYNC CHURCH
Saints of the Most High, the Holy Ghost is issuing a severe warning to our generation regarding the Timing of the Spirit. We have believers who are chronically out of rhythm with the heartbeat of Heaven. They are fasting when God says "feast," feasting when God says "mourn," and most dangerously—they are sleeping when the Master is begging them to watch!
There is a profound mystery hidden in the Garden of Gethsemane that explains why so many ministries, families, and individuals are collapsing under sudden demonic attacks. It is the tragedy of Misplaced Slumber. If you do not learn the rhythm of spiritual sensitivity today, you will find yourself fighting the right enemy at the wrong time with the wrong weapon!
THE EXPOSITION: THE ANATOMY OF A MISSED CHRONOS
    1. The Agony of the Ignored Invitation (Matthew 26:40-41)
“And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation...”
Here is the Master, sweating drops of blood, actively begging His inner circle for just sixty minutes of intercessory covering. But the disciples were paralyzed by heaviness. When the Spirit demanded agonizing prayer, their flesh demanded a pillow.
Prophetic Truth: How many times has the Holy Spirit nudged you at 2:00 AM, urging you to pray for your children, your city, or your local assembly, but you silenced the alarm? When God asks for an hour, He is not being religious; He is trying to vaccinate your spirit against an imminent temptation!
    2. The Irony of the Permitted Sleep (Matthew 26:45)
“Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.”
After missing three divine windows to pray, Jesus finally says, "Go ahead and sleep." But here is the soul-piercing paradox: They couldn't sleep even if they tried! Because the very next verse says, "Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me." Suddenly, torches are flashing, swords are drawn, and the mob has arrived.
The Revelation: When you sleep through your season of spiritual preparation, you will be violently jolted awake by the crisis. You will be denied the rest you crave because the battle you failed to pray against has broken down your front door!
    3. The Consequence of Reactive Warfare (John 18:10)
Because Peter slept in the garden, he woke up in the flesh. He drew a physical sword and cut off Malchus's ear. He tried to fight a spiritual battle with carnal energy.
This is exactly what happens when you miss the rhythm! You end up sending angry text messages, fighting your spouse, and battling your coworkers. You are swinging a carnal sword because you failed to wield the spiritual sickle in the place of prayer!

THE SOUL-PIERCING REALITY: THE SCARCITY OF THE AWAKE
Look at the Church today. We are experiencing a terrifying scarcity of the sickle in the harvest field because the Body is heavily sedated by entertainment, offense, and worldly ambition. We are sleeping when the harvest is rotting.
And yet, when economic crisis hits, when a health diagnosis drops, or when a marriage fractures—suddenly, everybody is awake! Suddenly, we want to hold emergency prayer meetings! We are wide awake in the crisis because we were fast asleep in the preparation.

Hear me: Labourers, not workers, are needed! A worker sleeps when the shift is over. A labourer stays awake when the Master is travailing!

YOUR APOSTOLIC MANDATE (CALL TO ACTION)
We must recalibrate our spiritual clocks. You cannot afford to be the generation that sleeps while the Betrayer is negotiating your destiny!
RESPOND TO THE NUDGE: Tonight, if the Holy Spirit wakes you up or interrupts your favorite show with a burden to pray, DO NOT IGNORE IT.
That one hour of obedience is your shield against tomorrow's trap.
REPENT OF CARNAL REACTIVITY: Ask God to forgive you for trying to fix with your flesh what you failed to cover in your prayers. Put away your "sword" and pick up your "sickle."

PRAY FOR SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY: Demand that your spiritual ears be unblocked. Lord, let me weep when You weep, and rest when You rest!

SET THE WATCH: Do not go to bed tonight without commanding the spiritual atmosphere over your home. Do your praying before the mob arrives!

     PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
I decree the shattering of every spirit of slumber and heaviness over your life! I command your spiritual sensitivity to be resurrected today! You will no longer miss the hour of your visitation! You shall not be caught naked and unarmed in the day of battle! You are transitioning from a sleeping spectator to a vigilant labourer! In the Mighty Name of Jesus!
COMMENT "I AM AWAKE ON MY WATCH!" if you are taking your position on the wall tonight!

THE TRAGEDY OF EXPIRED VITALITY: THE ILLUSION OF TIME AND THE MISUSE OF STRENGTH
    Broadcast Date: May 16, 2026
Topic: The Chronos Audit: What Are You Buying with the Currency of Your Youth?
    Scripture Foundation: 1 Samuel 18:27; 2 Samuel 11:15; 1 Kings 1:1-4
     THE MERCILESS AUDIT OF TIME
Saints of the Most High, the Holy Spirit has dragged my spirit into the throne room to deliver a terrifying warning to this generation. We live under the dangerous delusion that we have an endless supply of tomorrow. We boast in our stamina, our intellect, and our youthful fire. But God is about to show you the tragic biography of a man who conquered nations but mismanaged his own biology.
Strength is a temporary currency. Time is a merciless auditor.
If you do not learn the prophetic usage of your time and strength today, you will arrive at the winter of your life with a crown on your head but a freeze in your bones! Let the anatomy of David’s vitality be your ultimate teacher!
THE EXPOSITION: THE THREE PHASES OF SQUANDERED STRENGTH
    1. The Zealous Waste of Youth (1 Samuel 18:25-27)
“Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men... that he might be the king's son in law.”
In his youth, David possessed supernatural, raw strength. Saul asked for 100 foreskins to marry Michal; David, fueled by the adrenaline of his prime, killed 200. He spent an exorbitant amount of physical and mental energy to secure a bride who would eventually despise his worship (2 Samuel 6:16).
The Prophetic Truth: What "Michal" are you killing yourself for right now? How much of your prime energy, your 4:00 AM wake-up calls, and your intellectual bandwidth is being wasted on worldly validation, toxic relationships, and corporate ladders that will eventually despise your spiritual mantle?
    2. The Abuse of Peak Power (2 Samuel 11:14-15)
“And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.”
In the prime of his kingship, David didn't use his sword; he used his influence. He orchestrated the death of a loyal mighty man just to cover up the lust of his flesh for Bathsheba. He used his peak authority not to advance the Kingdom, but to accommodate his carnality.
The Soul-Piercing Reality: When God elevates you, gives you an office, or blesses your finances, do you use that peak strength to finance the Gospel, or do you use it to fund your flesh?
    3. The Expiration of the Flesh (1 Kings 1:1-4)
“Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat... Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin... that the king may get heat... but the king knew her not.”
Here is the terrifying climax. The man who had the strength to slay a bear, a lion, Goliath, and 200 Philistines... the man who had the stamina to take multiple wives and conquer cities... is now freezing in his bed. They brought him Abishag, the most beautiful young virgin in the land, to warm him.
But his strength was gone. He "knew her not." The flesh that once demanded Uriah's death to satisfy a momentary urge had completely expired.
THE CRUCIBLE: THE SCARCITY OF THE SICKLE
Hear me, Church! You are fighting demons of lust, ambition, and pride right now because you have excess strength that you refuse to deploy into the Kingdom.
We look at the fields and see a desperate scarcity of the sickle. Why? Because the men and women who should be wielding it are exhausting their vigor chasing 200 Philistines for a worldly prize! We are in a critical dispensation where labourers, not workers, are needed. A worker uses their strength for a paycheck; a labourer exhausts their youth for the Master of the Harvest.
Do not wait until your "1 Kings 1" season to offer God your body! God does not want the leftovers of your vitality! If you wait until the fire of your youth burns out to finally get serious about discipleship, you will find yourself shivering in a palace of your own making, unable to even lift a sword for the Kingdom!
YOUR APOSTOLIC MANDATE (CALL TO ACTION)
The clock is ticking. You cannot negotiate with Time, and you cannot bribe your Biology.
AUDIT YOUR ENERGY: Write down the top three things consuming your physical and mental strength right now. Are they yielding eternal dividends, or are you just hunting "Philistine foreskins"?
REPENT OF CARNAL EXHAUSTION: If you are too tired to pray, too exhausted to evangelize, and too drained to study the Word because you gave your best hours to the world, repent today.
DEPLOY THE SICKLE: Take your youth, your intellect, and your prime years and invest them in soul-winning and Kingdom building immediately. Do not give the devil your best years and offer God your retirement!
EMBRACE TRUE DISCIPLESHIP: Submit your daily schedule to the Holy Ghost. Let Him dictate where your strength goes today!
     PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
I decree that the illusion of limitless time is shattered over your mind right now! I break the spell of wasted youth and mismanaged strength! You will not exhaust your vitality on the altars of Babylon! The Holy Ghost is realigning your stamina for the eternal harvest! You shall be a labourer who bears fruit in their season! In the Mighty Name of Jesus!
SHARE THIS to wake up a generation that is sleeping on the clock!

#DAILY LIGHT THE TRAGEDY OF EXPIRED VITALITY: THE ILLUSION OF TIME AND THE MISUSE OF STRENGTH Broadcast Date: May 16, 2026 Topic: The Chronos Audit: What Are You Buying with the Currency of Your Youth? Scripture Foundation: 1 Samuel 18:27; 2 Samuel 11:15; 1 Kings 1:1-4 THE MERCILESS AUDIT OF TIME Saints of the Most High, the Holy Spirit has dragged my spirit into the throne room to deliver a terrifying warning to this generation. THE EXPOSITION: THE THREE PHASES OF SQUANDERED STRENGTH 1. The Zealous Waste of Youth (1 Samuel 18:25-27) “Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men... that he might be the king's son in law.” In his youth, David possessed supernatural, raw strength. • THE FOURTH BEAST: A DREADFUL AND TERRIBLE BEAST.
Please, share this lesson with your family, friends co-worker and all who you can, for the expansion of the Kingdom of GOD.

”After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the remnant with the feet of it…”"

"The fourth kingdom is the Roman Empire, which is said to devour and break in pieces. The chief god of the Romans was known as Saturn, or Chronos, god of time, whose chariot was serpents/dragons. Chronos, in fear of losing his place as chief among the gods, devoured any child who was born from him.

Chronos, the god of time, often depicted with a serpent/dragon chariot, devoured children."

"It was during the Roman Empire that Christ came as a man. Speaking of Christ’s birth during this time, we are told this devouring beast was the “dragon”. “…the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”(Rev. 12:4)

Upon king Herod learning of Christ’s birth from the wise men, he ordered all of the youth two and under to be killed for fear of his throne being overthrown. Satan, also called “the great dragon…that old serpent” (Revelation 12:9) in the Bible, had inspired the king with his very own fears of losing his throne.

Thus Herod was moved by the very spirit of Satan to “devour” Christ “as soon as he was born.”

It devours and brake in pieces…
The beast symbolized by the devouring beast of the dragon, “that old serpent”, was also symbolic of the Roman god, Saturn. Saturn was known to transform himself into a serpent with wings, and he is also depicted as having a chariot carried along by serpents with wings.

The “old serpent” in Scripture is a reference to Satan using the medium of a serpent with wings before it was cursed perpetually to live on the ground. The god Saturn was known for having devoured his children as soon as they were born for fear that they would overthrow his dominion.

It was through the Roman Empire that it “break in pieces” Christ, as the sacrifice for man on the cross. After He ascended, we are told that the dragon makes war with “the remnant…which keep the commandments of God”: so the early Christians were terribly persecuted under the empire until the time of Constantine, when the dragon, “that old serpent”, would take a much more subtle form of attack in the Roman Empire.

"THE TEN HORNS OF THE FOURTH BEAST:
    “…and it had ten horns.”

Daniel 7:24 says, “And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise…”

The Roman empire was divided into what may be more commonly understood as ancient Europe. When the single Roman emperor fell, the kingdom was divided initially into ten divisions: Franks, Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Vandals, Saxons, Lombards, Suevi, Celts, Alemanni, Thuringians.

    A LITTLE HORN:
“I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots…”

The Antichrist’s Rise: Who is this little horn?
We must not make the mistake of falsely identifying this little horn power, because it will prove to be the great antichrist power of history, and serve as a key to unveil the deception of the subtle serpent, and how he is working in these last days.

In order to avoid all mistakes of identity, it would be well first to consider the nine characteristic marks described in the prophecy itself. These marks of identity will enable us to be absolutely sure of the interpretation. We dare not guess or speculate concerning the historical identity of this “little horn” of prophecy."

    "Identifying Marks

    1) It arises amongst the ten horns of Western Europe and it’s divisions.

    2) The ten horns were in 476AD, so the little horn rises after this point.

    3) It would uproot three horns standing in the way of it’s dominion, saying that “there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots.”.

    4) It would have “eyes like a man and a mouth speaking great things,” signifying that it would be a man symbolized by this reign, and he would claim to be in a position of great authority.

    5) This horn would be “diverse from the first”, showing that he is a different kind of power than the traditional political authority of the other kings.

    6) It says “he shall speak great words against the most High.” Another verse says, “speaking great things and blasphemies.” [Blasphemy in the Bible is defined as a man, placing himself in the position of God. “For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.” John 10:30-33, also to forgive sins- ““Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God only?” Mark 2:7)

    Additional Identifying Marks

    7) He makes war with the saints, and prevails. (The saints are defined in the Bible as those who have the gospel of Christ and keep the law of God [Rev. 14:12])

    8) He thinks to change times and laws. This does not refer to the laws of the kingdom of Rome, because the laws of the earthly kingdoms have always changed. It speaking about a man who claims to have authority to change the law of God and His kingdom.

    9) It will reign for 1260 years. The Scripture says “a time, times, and a dividing of time.” While it seems unusual to word time like this, how can we know it is referring to 1260 years?

The expression is employed again, in regards to a time when the church of God must flee persecution “for a time, and times, and half a time” in Revelation 12:14, which in verse 6 is referred to as “a thousand, two hundred, and threescore (a score is 20, so 3×20=60) days”.

A day in Bible prophecy is in fact a year, according to Ezekiel 4:6 (“I’ve appointed thee each day for a year.”) A time, therefore, is 360 days, which is the length of the Bible’s year. Times is 720 (2×360), and a half a time is 180. If this is all put together, it gives us the key of reigning for 1260 years.

"All of these points must match perfectly to identify the antichristian power, which will be used by Satan in the last days to deceive the world. God has already let these points find fulfillment, so none need be in darkness in the last days regarding the deceptions of Satan.

  • Natural Time and Spiritual Time

Time is one of the greatest gifts God has given to man. However, there are two dimensions of time operating in the life of every believer: Natural Time and Spiritual Time.

Understanding the difference between the two is vital for living a life of purpose and divine fulfillment.

Natural time is measured by clocks and calendars — seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years. But Spiritual time is determined by God's divine calendar — His purpose, seasons, and timing for your life.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

2 Peter 3:8 – “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

    - UNDERSTANDING NATURAL TIME
Natural time is the dimension in which we live physically. It is governed by the rotation of the earth and human schedules.

It is linear — past, present, and future.

It helps us plan, grow, and measure progress.

Natural time is temporary, and once gone, cannot be recovered.

Psalm 90:12 – “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

Many people live only by natural time — chasing money, career, pleasure, or recognition — forgetting that their spiritual time might be calling for something deeper.

    - UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUAL TIME
Spiritual time operates according to God’s divine purpose. It is not measured by clocks but by seasons of destiny.

    It is Kairos, not Chronos.

Chronos means natural time (hours, days).

Kairos means God’s appointed time — when heaven decides something must happen.

Habakkuk 2:3 – “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie…”

You may feel delayed in natural time, but in spiritual time, you may still be right on schedule!

    - EXAMPLES FROM SCRIPTURE
Abraham: In natural time, he was old; in spiritual time, he was right on God’s schedule for Isaac’s birth. (Genesis 21:1–2)

Joseph: In natural time, he was a prisoner; in spiritual time, he was being prepared for the palace. (Genesis 41:14–44)

Jesus Christ: He said, “My time has not yet come.” (John 2:4) — showing awareness of divine timing.

Each waited until God’s appointed time — and when the spiritual time came, everything changed suddenly.

    - DANGERS OF IGNORING SPIRITUAL TIME

You may move ahead of God and fail like Saul (1 Samuel 13:8–14).

You may delay obedience and miss your moment. (Luke 19:41–44)

You may grow weary and give up right before your divine season. (Galatians 6:9)

Many people are frustrated because they measure themselves by others’ natural timelines instead of their spiritual season.

    - HOW TO ALIGN NATURAL TIME WITH SPIRITUAL TIME

    Walk closely with God.
Proverbs 3:5–6 – “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
He reveals divine timings through promptings, dreams, and the Word.

Be patient and trust God’s process.
Isaiah 40:31 – “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength…”

    Stay obedient.
Obedience keeps you synchronized with God’s clock.

    Redeem the time.
Ephesians 5:16 – “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

    - GOD’S CLOCK IS NEVER LATE

When it seems delayed, remember: God is preparing both you and the environment for manifestation.
Galatians 4:4 – “But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son…”

At the fullness of time, what looked impossible becomes possible.

    * Beloved, do not let your natural time make you doubt your spiritual season. God is never late. Live wisely in your natural time while walking faithfully in your spiritual time. When both align, destiny manifests gloriously!

Psalm 31:15 – “My times are in thy hand…”

    PRAY THIS PRAYER

    * Lord, help me to discern my spiritual time.

    * Father, align my natural schedule with Your divine calendar.

    * Lord, deliver me from every form of delay or premature action.

    * I receive grace to wait on You until my appointed time.

    * Lord, let my times be ordered by Your hand.

When both align, destiny manifests gloriously! 📖 Psalm 31:15 – “My times are in thy hand…” PRAY THIS PRAYER * Lord, help me to discern my spiritual time. * Father, align my natural schedule with Your divine calendar. * Lord, deliver me from every form of delay or premature action. * I receive grace to wait on You until my appointed time. * Lord, let my times be ordered by Your hand.
