Some tasks feel important because people notice them. Others seem so ordinary that we wonder whether they matter at all. We answer emails, clean rooms, finish assignments, serve quietly, raise families, and fulfill responsibilities that may never receive applause. Yet Scripture gives ordinary work eternal weight. The question is not whether our task looks significant—but whether we are doing it for Christ.

The command reaches beyond church ministry into every legitimate responsibility God has placed before us. Whether our work is public or hidden, celebrated or unnoticed, Christ is the true Master we serve.

A craftsman may spend hours working on something nobody will ever see inside a finished building. Yet he works carefully because he knows what he is building matters. So it should be with us. Heaven sees what earth overlooks. The unseen task, the ordinary duty, and the quiet responsibility can all become worship when they are done faithfully before the Lord.

    Scripture teaches and reminds us that our labor matters to God. We do not work for applause; we work for approval from above. Our workplace, home, church, and daily responsibilities can become places where Christ is honored.

The audience of our work is ultimately not man—it is God. Don’t work like a mouse that only moves when the cat is away. We are not called to perform when people are watching and relax when they are gone. The task may be ordinary, the audience may be small, and the reward may be unseen—but the Lord sees every faithful hand.

    Before Christ called us to work, He worked for us. The risen Lord now sends us as His servants, not to chase recognition, but to glorify Him in all we do.

Are you treating your ordinary responsibilities as interruptions or as opportunities to glorify Christ? What task have you been doing reluctantly because nobody seems to notice? You don't need Christ merely to make your work successful—you need Him to make your work worship. Whatever your hands find to do, do it for Him. The task may be ordinary, but the One we serve is not.

    Todayโ€™s Scripture
    John 2:6 (ESV)
โ€œNow there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.โ€
    Opening the Scriptures
John now draws our attention to something standing nearby at the wedding: six large stone water jars.
These were not ordinary drinking containers. John specifically tells us that they were connected with Jewish purification practices.
The jars were large. Together they could hold well over one hundred gallons of water.
At this point, however, they were simply standing there.
The servants did not yet know why Jesus would soon direct their attention toward them.
This detail reminds us of something important when reading Scripture. God often accomplishes His purposes through things that appear completely ordinary.
    The servants saw water jars.
Jesus knew what He was about to do.
    Living Godโ€™s Word Today
We often think God can use us only when we possess something impressive.
We may believe we need greater ability, more education, more money, greater influence, or better circumstances before we can serve Him effectively.
But Scripture repeatedly challenges that thinking.
God is not limited by what appears small or ordinary to us.
The question is not whether what we possess seems impressive.
The question is whether it is available for His purposes.
Those stone jars could not perform a miracle.
    Neither could the servants.
The power belonged entirely to Christ.
That distinction is essential in Christian service.
Whenever God accomplishes something through our lives, ministries, churches, abilities, or resources, we must never confuse the instrument with the One who supplies the power.
    Christ receives the glory.
Perhaps you sometimes feel that what you have to offer God is insignificant.
Do not measure usefulness according to human standards.
Bring what you have under the authority of Christ.
Your time can be used by Him.
Your home can be used by Him.
Your abilities can be used by Him.
Your resources can be used by Him.
Your ordinary conversations can become opportunities to speak truth and demonstrate the love of Christ.
But never forget: the power is not in us.
We are servants. Christ is Lord.
The six stone jars were standing at Cana, ready to be used according to His command.
The servants would soon discover that ordinary obedience placed them in the service of an extraordinary Savior.
Our responsibility today remains the same.
    Be available.
    Listen to His Word.
    Obey what He commands.
And give Christ all the glory for whatever He accomplishes.
    Question for Today:
Are you willing to place what you have at Christโ€™s disposal for His purposes?
Respond: โ€œLord, use what You have given me for Your glory.โ€

  • LOST IN THE CHURCH:

    [GETTING LOST IN CHURCH]

    Part Seven

    Worshipping the Word of God/Scripture.

The Word of God, together with the Church, are among the things given to us for the purpose of salvation, to bring people to God, although they themselves are not God. Therefore, I can say that the Word of God is like a signpost pointing us to where Christ is.

When a person ends up building his life upon the Word of God without going to Jesus Christ, this becomes the foundation of one of the greatest deceptions of religious spirits and idolatry in the Church.

If you read John chapter five, you will see how the Lord spoke to those who had fallen into this kind of deception:

    > โ€œYou search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.โ€ John 5:39โ€“40

Today, many people have ended up in religious institutions, while others have ended up in Scripture, yet they have never truly come to Jesus to receive life.

Jesus did not come to establish any religion or bring a system of laws to the world; rather, He came to restore the RELATIONSHIP between humanity and Godโ€”the relationship that was lost in Eden. It is within this relationship that salvation and eternal life are found.

    > โ€œAnd this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.โ€ John 17:3

A person can know all the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, and may even teach them with great skill and accuracy, yet never have encountered or truly known the Lord.

It may be easy for someone to explain things about the Lord based on what they have heard from other people. However, it is completely different to know the Lord personally.

Jesus is the Way and the Life. There is no way for anyone to come to the Father except through Him. And when He says that He is the Way, many people picture a dusty road, a gravel road, or a paved road. But the Way He is talking about here is a Person.

To know the way to heaven is to know a Person. And you cannot truly know Him without having a relationship with Him.

    > โ€œThen I will declare to them, โ€˜I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!โ€™โ€ Matthew 7:23

It is entirely possible for someone to preach, teach the Word of God, cast out demons, and perform many works of the Kingdom, yet still not know the Lordโ€”and likewise, not be known in Heaven.

It is easy for a person to build a name for himself and become famous on earth, but it is very different to be known in Heaven.

Many of the things we glorify on earth are often considered worthless before God. Therefore, it is possible for someone to be well-known in Heaven while having no name or recognition on earth.

Glorifying the Word More Than the One Who Gave the Word

There has been a very strange tendency among people to glorify the Word of God more than God Himself, who gave the Word.

In this way, many people hold on to what God said yesterday against what He is saying today.

For example, it is possible for God to say โ€œYesโ€ yesterday concerning a particular matter and say โ€œNoโ€ today, according to His will and timing.

If we have not learned how to walk with the Lord, it is very easy to cling to a dead word, which undoubtedly becomes an idol. In this way, we have many churches today that have died because they continue holding on to a dead word.

The Apostle Peter is one of the examples in Scripture of someone who almost made such a painful mistake. He resisted the Lordโ€™s command concerning the animals, relying on the earlier word from the same God who had declared those animals unclean.

However, by His great mercy, the Lord corrected Peter and told him:

    > โ€œWhat God has cleansed you must not call common.โ€ Acts 10:15

LOST IN THE CHURCH: [GETTING LOST IN CHURCH] Part Seven Worshipping the Word of God/Scripture. If you read John chapter five, you will see how the Lord spoke to those who had fallen into this kind of deception: > โ€œYou search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.โ€ John 5:39โ€“40 Today, many people have ended up in religious institutions, while others have ended up in Scripture, yet they have never truly come to Jesus to receive life. Jesus did not come to establish any religion or bring a system of laws to the world; rather, He came to restore the RELATIONSHIP between humanity and Godโ€”the relationship that was lost in Eden. It is within this relationship that salvation and eternal life are found. > โ€œAnd this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.โ€ John 17:3 A person can know all the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, and may even teach them with great skill and accuracy, yet never have encountered or truly known the Lord. > โ€œThen I will declare to them, โ€˜I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!โ€™โ€ Matthew 7:23 It is entirely possible for someone to preach, teach the Word of God, cast out demons, and perform many works of the Kingdom, yet still not know the Lordโ€”and likewise, not be known in Heaven. It is easy for a person to build a name for himself and become famous on earth, but it is very different to be known in Heaven. Many of the things we glorify on earth are often considered worthless before God. Therefore, it is possible for someone to be well-known in Heaven while having no name or recognition on earth. Glorifying the Word More Than the One Who Gave the Word There has been a very strange tendency among people to glorify the Word of God more than God Himself, who gave the Word. However, by His great mercy, the Lord corrected Peter and told him: > โ€œWhat God has cleansed you must not call common.โ€ Acts 10:15 #ToBeContinued..! Mwl. • โ€œFor if, having escaped the worldโ€™s impurity through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in these things and defeated, the last state is worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy command delivered to them.โ€
    โ€” 2 Peter 2:20โ€“21 (CSB)

Peter gives a serious warning about people who encounter the truth of Christ but later turn away and become entangled again in the corruption of the world. In the larger context, he is especially addressing false teachers whose lives and teachings reveal that they have rejected the truth they once knew. Greater knowledge brings greater responsibility, making deliberate rejection of Godโ€™s truth especially dangerous. This passage calls us to remain firmly rooted in Christ, allowing the truth we know to continually shape the way we believe and live.

  • Need to know.
Some argue that the Ten Commandments belonged to the Old Testament and were replaced by the command to love.

But there is a serious problem with that argument:

The commands to love are Old Testament commands too.

โ€œYou shall love the LORD your God with all your heart...โ€ comes from Deuteronomy 6:5.

โ€œYou shall love your neighbor as yourselfโ€ comes from Leviticus 19:18.

When Jesus identified these as the two great commandments, He was not introducing a new law that replaced the Ten Commandments. He was quoting commandments already written in the Old Testament. โ€” Matthew 22:37โ€“40

And the New Testament continues both.

Paul says, โ€œLove is the fulfillment of the law,โ€ and immediately explains what he means by quoting the commandments against adultery, murder, stealing, coveting, and โ€œany other commandment.โ€ โ€” Romans 13:8โ€“10

Love does not abolish Godโ€™s law. Love is the principle by which His law is fulfilled.

So simply calling something โ€œOld Testamentโ€ proves nothing about whether it still applies. The commands to love were there. The Ten Commandments were there.

    Both continue.

    โ€œOld Testamentโ€ does not mean โ€œabolished.โ€

  • The Advent Truth.
โ€œNew covenantโ€ does not mean โ€œno law,โ€ and โ€œa new commandmentโ€ does not mean Jesus replaced the Ten Commandments with a vague command to love.

Jesus said, โ€œA new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved youโ€ (John 13:34). What was new? Not the command to love. Leviticus 19:18 had already commanded, โ€œThou shalt love thy neighbour as thyselfโ€ centuries earlier.

And Jeremiah 31 actually proves the opposite of the โ€œlaw abolishedโ€ argument. God describes the NEW COVENANT Himself:

โ€œI will put MY LAW in their inward parts, and write it in their heartsโ€ (Jeremiah 31:33).

Notice what God does NOT say: โ€œI will abolish My law and replace it with another law.โ€ The difference is where the law is written. Under the new covenant, God writes His law upon the HEART.

Hebrews repeats Jeremiahโ€™s prophecy: โ€œI will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their heartsโ€ (Hebrews 8:10; cf. 10:16).

Yes, Jesus said, โ€œThis cup is the new testament Abdulaziz Ibn Muhammad in my bloodโ€ (Luke 22:20). His blood ratifies the new covenantโ€”but what covenant does Jeremiah say it is? The covenant in which GOD WRITES HIS LAW ON OUR HEARTS.

The problem with the old covenant was never that Godโ€™s moral law was defective. Scripture says, โ€œThe law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and goodโ€ (Romans 7:12). Hebrews identifies the problem: โ€œfinding fault with themโ€ (Hebrews 8:8). The people promised, โ€œAll that the LORD hath spoken we will doโ€ (Exodus 19:8), but human strength could not produce obedience.

The new covenant provides what the old covenant experience lacked: forgiveness through Christ, a transformed heart, and Godโ€™s Spirit producing obedience from within.

And what does love look like?

โ€œFor this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievousโ€ (1 John 5:3).

Grace doesnโ€™t erase Godโ€™s law. Grace writes it deeper.

The old covenant could point to righteousness. The new covenant puts Christ within us to live it.

THE TEMPTATION OF JESUS โ€” VICTORY WHERE ADAM FAILED

    Matthew 4:1โ€“11 | Mark 1:12โ€“13 | Luke 4:1โ€“13

The temptation of Jesus was not merely a story about three conversations in the wilderness. It was a powerful revelation of how Satan attacks, how Christ responds, and how victory over temptation is possible.

After Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit led Him into the wilderness, where He fasted for forty days and nights. Then Satan came to tempt Him.

ยซโ€œThen was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:1ยป

Notice something important: Jesus was not tempted because He had sinned. He was tempted because He was righteous.

THE FIRST TEMPTATION โ€” โ€œCOMMAND THAT THESE STONES BE MADE BREADโ€

Jesus was hungry. Satan attacked Him at His weakest physical moment.

ยซโ€œIf thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:3ยป

Satan was essentially saying, โ€œUse your power to satisfy yourself. Put your physical desire before obedience to God.โ€

    But Jesus answered:

ยซโ€œMan shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:4ยป

    The lesson is simple:
Your greatest need is not always the thing your flesh is demanding.

Food is important, but obedience to God is more important.

Jesus did not allow hunger to become an excuse for disobedience.

    THE SECOND TEMPTATION โ€” โ€œCAST THYSELF DOWNโ€

Satan then took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple and quoted Scripture.

ยซโ€œIf thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:6ยป

    Notice carefully: Satan quoted Scripture!

This teaches us something extremely important:

Not everyone who quotes the Bible is teaching the truth.

The devil quoted Psalm 91, but he twisted its meaning to encourage Jesus to test God.

    Jesus answered:

ยซโ€œThou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:7ยป

    The lesson:
Knowing Scripture is not enough. We must understand Scripture correctly and submit to its true meaning.

The devil can use Bible words while promoting a message that contradicts God's will.

THE THIRD TEMPTATION โ€” WORSHIP ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE KINGDOMS

Satan showed Jesus the kingdoms of the world and offered them to Him.

ยซโ€œAll these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:9ยป

    What was Satan asking for?

    Worship.

    Jesus answered with absolute firmness:

ยซโ€œThou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.โ€ โ€” Matthew 4:10ยป

Jesus would receive the kingdomโ€”but not by compromising His loyalty to God.

    The lesson:
Never exchange obedience to God for temporary success, popularity, money, power, pleasure, or worldly recognition.

There are things Satan may offer that look attractive, but anything that requires disobedience to God is too expensive.

JESUS WON WITH โ€œIT IS WRITTENโ€

Look at Christ's weapon throughout the temptation:

    โ€œIt is written.โ€

He did not answer Satan with human philosophy.

He did not argue from emotion.

    He did not negotiate.

He stood upon the Word of God.

    This is why Scripture says:

ยซโ€œThy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.โ€ โ€” Psalm 119:11ยป

If the Word of God is not in your heart, what will you stand upon when temptation comes?

    JESUS SUCCEEDED WHERE ADAM FAILED

There is a beautiful contrast here.

Adam was tempted in a perfect garden, surrounded by abundanceโ€”and he fell.

Jesus was tempted in a barren wilderness, weakened by forty days of fastingโ€”and He remained faithful.

    Adam listened to the serpent.

Jesus answered the serpent with God's Word.

    Adam disobeyed God.

    Jesus obeyed God.

Where Adam failed, Christ stood victorious.

And Hebrews gives us this encouragement:

ยซโ€œFor we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.โ€ โ€” Hebrews 4:15ยป

Jesus understands temptationโ€”not because He surrendered to it, but because He faced it and overcame it without sin.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR US?

    Temptation itself is not sin.

Giving in to temptation is sin.

    When temptation comes, remember:

When your flesh says, โ€œSatisfy yourself,โ€ remember: โ€œMan shall not live by bread alone.โ€

When Satan twists Scripture, remember: โ€œIt is written.โ€

When the world offers you success in exchange for compromise, remember: โ€œThou shalt worship the Lord thy God.โ€

And when you feel weak, remember:

ยซโ€œI can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.โ€ โ€” Philippians 4:13ยป

The Christian life is not about pretending temptation does not exist.

It is about learning to stand when temptation comes.

Jesus did not overcome temptation by compromising with Satan.

He overcame by trusting His Father, standing upon Scripture, and refusing to disobey.

    THE FINAL LESSON

Satan can tempt you, but he cannot force you to sin.

    The choice remains before you.

When temptation comes, don't negotiate with it.

    Don't entertain it.

Don't twist Scripture to justify it.

Stand on the Word. Trust God. Choose obedience.

Because the same Christ who overcame in the wilderness is able to strengthen those who follow Him today.

ยซโ€œResist the devil, and he will flee from you.โ€ โ€” James 4:7ยป

    Jesus overcame.
    Jesus is our example.
    Jesus is our strength.
And through Him, victory is possible.

Luke 10:19: โ€œListen! I have given you authority, so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the Enemy, and nothing will hurt you.โ€

    Thoughts:

Accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour and thus inviting the Holy Spirit into your life, you also gain power through God; power to face even the most daunting enemies and challenges.

If you live your life in honor of God, if you understand that His presence in your life is a constant, you never need to be afraid again.

Fear makes us weak, it makes us doubt that God can intervene in time to save us. If we stand firm in the knowledge that we have power through our belief in the Lord, if we face the future with courageous hearts, we can (and will) overcome any obstacle in our way.

Fear gives the devil a foothold, he thrives on us being afraid and uses it against us. When we take our stand against evil, against the world, knowing that we are children of the Almighty; children with God-given power, even the devil and his minions will fall. Luke 10:17: โ€œ....Even the demons obeyed us when we gave them a command in your name."

A word of warning, though, remember that with this power comes a warning:

Luke 10:17: โ€œBut donโ€™t be glad because the evil spirits obey you; rather be glad because your names are written in heaven.โ€

Therefore you should accept our God-given power and use it to quench the human fear still lurking in our lives. In our commitment to God we can use this power to overcome even the darkest of enemies and do so to glorify His name. For it is only through Him that we can claim this power and only with His blessing that we can use it in our daily battle.

    Ask yourself:

Are you ready to accept God's challenge and take up the powerful sword God gave you? Are you ready to trust in Him so that you can live a life to His glory, victorious agaist the treachery of the world?

  • The Faith of our Fathers

What Does it Mean to Have the "Faith of Our Fathers"?

When we open Hebrews 11 often called Godโ€™s "Hall of Faith" we aren't just reading ancient history. We are looking at a masterclass on how to walk with God in a hostile world.

Looking closely at Hebrews 11:23โ€“28, we see the faith of Moses and his parents. Their lives reveal 3 core characteristics of real faith and an actionable model we can live by today: S.E.E.F.

Letโ€™s dive deep into what Godโ€™s Word teaches us!

Characteristics of the Faith of Our Fathers

    1. A Faith That Protects (v. 23)
"By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents..."
True faith doesn't throw up its hands in fear when society or government laws contradict God. Mosesโ€™ parents (Amram and Jochebed) faced a decree from Pharaoh to kill all male babies. Yet, their faith drove them to protect what God had entrusted to them.

Application: Faith acts as a shield over our families, our calling, and our spiritual lives against the enemyโ€™s attacks.

    2. A Perceiving Faith (v. 23)
"...because they saw he was a beautiful [proper/special] child; and they were not afraid of the kingโ€™s command."
Physical eyes only see problems; eyes of faith perceive Godโ€™s divine purpose. Mosesโ€™ parents didn't just see a newborn babyโ€”they perceived by faith that God had a specific destiny for his life. This perception cast out their fear of Pharaoh.

Application: Faith gives you spiritual vision to see God's plan hidden inside difficult circumstances.

    3. A Faith That Perseveres (v. 24)
"By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaohโ€™s daughter..."
Notice that Moses' faith matured as he grew up. He didn't just rely on his parents' religion; he developed a personal, enduring faith that stood the test of time and temptation.

Application: Real faith lasts. It carries you through childhood into adulthood, through changing seasons, and through life's trials.

The Faith of Moses โ€” The "S.E.E.F." Model

Moses' life gives us a 4-step blueprint for walking in victorious faith:

    S โ€” Self-denying Faith (v. 24โ€“25)
Moses gave up royal status, boundless wealth, and the top position in Egypt. Why? Because faith chooses to suffer with Godโ€™s people rather than enjoy the short-lived pleasures of sin.

True faith knows when to say "NO" to the world so it can say "YES" to God.

    E โ€” Expectant Faith (v. 26)

"...esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward."

Moses wasn't focused on what he was losing in Egypt; he was focused on what God promised in eternity. Expectant faith keeps its eyes on God's ultimate reward, making present sacrifices feel small.

Faith measures value by eternity, not by worldly success.

    E โ€” Enduring Faith (v.27)

"By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible."

Moses faced the rage of the most powerful ruler on Earth, yet he stood firm. How? Because he saw the invisible God as more real than the visible king.

When you can "see" the Invisible God, you can endure any visible trial.

    F โ€” Faith in Godโ€™s Message of Salvation (v. 28โ€“29)

Moses kept the Passover and applied the blood of the lamb so that the destroyer would not touch Israel. He led the people through the Red Sea by trusting God's word.

Ultimate faith always anchors itself in Godโ€™s plan of salvation through the Blood of the Lamb!

    PERSONAL REFLECTION:
Faith isn't passive, it protects, perceives, perseveres, denies self, expects God's best, endures hardship, and rests in Salvation.

The Faith of our Fathers What Does it Mean to Have the "Faith of Our Fathers"? When we open Hebrews 11 often called Godโ€™s "Hall of Faith" we aren't just reading ancient history. We are looking at a masterclass on how to walk with God in a hostile world. Looking closely at Hebrews 11:23โ€“28, we see the faith of Moses and his parents. Their lives reveal 3 core characteristics of real faith and an actionable model we can live by today: S.E.E.F. Letโ€™s dive deep into what Godโ€™s Word teaches us! ๐Ÿ‘‡ Characteristics of the Faith of Our Fathers 1. A Faith That Protects (v. 23) "By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents..." True faith doesn't throw up its hands in fear when society or government laws contradict God. 23) "...because they saw he was a beautiful [proper/special] child; and they were not afraid of the kingโ€™s command." Physical eyes only see problems; eyes of faith perceive Godโ€™s divine purpose. 24) "By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaohโ€™s daughter..." Notice that Moses' faith matured as he grew up. He didn't just rely on his parents' religion; he developed a personal, enduring faith that stood the test of time and temptation. Application: Real faith lasts.
