• WHEN THE STONES CRY OUT:
ARCHAEOLOGY AND THE GOD WHO ACTS IN HISTORY

INTRODUCTION: THE GOD WHO LEAVES EVIDENCE
Saints, today we stand on holy ground not because of the carpet beneath our feet, but because of the truth beneath our faith. We live in a world that questions everything sacred, doubts everything divine, and dismisses everything biblical. But Jesus said something that echoes across time:
“If these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”
He was not speaking metaphorically. He was speaking prophetically, and in our generations, the stones are crying out. Archaeology, the science of digging into the earth has become a witness to the truth of Scripture.
Psalm 85:11 declared it long ago:
“Truth shall spring out of the earth.”
Truth is rising from the soil. Truth is emerging from the dust. Truth is being uncovered from the ruins. And every discovery whispers the same message: The Bible is true. The God of the Bible is real. And the God who acted in history is still acting today.
Today, I want to take you on a journey not just through Scripture, but through the stones, the ruins, the inscriptions, the tombs, the cities, and the artifacts that confirm the Word of God. This is not a lecture. This is not a seminar. This is not an academic presentation. This is a sermon, a proclamation of truth, a declaration of faith, and a celebration of a God who leaves evidence.
    I. THE TEL DAN STELE WHEN A PAGAN KING CONFIRMS GOD’S PROMISE
For decades, the "minimalist" school of biblical criticism argued that King David was nothing more than a pious fiction, a mythological figure akin to King Arthur, designed to give a fledgling post-exilic community a sense of grand heritage. They claimed there was no extra-biblical evidence for his existence. But in 1993, at the foot of Mount Hermon in northern Israel, archaeologist Gila Cook noticed a stone used in a secondary wall that looked different. It was a fragment of a victory monument, the Tel Dan Stele, commissioned by Hazael of Aram-Damascus. As the dust was brushed away from the basalt surface, three words in Paleo-Hebrew script silenced the skeptics and shook the foundations of academia.
"Beit David" – "The House of David."
This wasn't a biblical scribe writing with a theological agenda; this was a pagan king, a bitter enemy of Israel, boasting of his military triumph over a dynasty he recognized as the legitimate lineage of David. He didn't just carve a name; he carved a historical reality. The stones cried out across 2,800 years of silence.
    This discovery confirmed:
    David was real.
    His dynasty was real.
    His impact was real.
God’s promise to him was real.
    Preaching Lift:
If God kept His promise to David, a promise carved into history He will keep His promise to you. Your faith is not built on fairy tales. Your faith is built on a God who leaves evidence. And sometimes, God will let your enemies confirm your calling.
II. THE HOLY SEPULCHRE GARDEN THE RESURRECTION IN REAL SPACE
For nearly two millennia, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has stood as the epicenter of Christian pilgrimage, marking the traditional site of Golgotha and the Empty Tomb. While some sought more "scenic" locations like the Garden Tomb, recent scientific excavations and restorations within the Aedicule and the surrounding complex have unveiled a subterranean history that aligns perfectly with the Passion narratives.
But recent excavations beneath that church revealed:
    A first‑century garden
Soil containing grains, grapes, and figs
A quarried limestone tomb matching Gospel descriptions
A landscape consistent with John’s words: “In the place where He was crucified there was a garden.”
Critically, archaeologists found that the site was originally an ancient limestone quarry that had been transformed into a garden in the first century. By analyzing the archaeological strata, they confirmed that the tomb was indeed carved into a rock face outside the city walls of that era, exactly as the New Testament records. Archaeology cannot peer into the supernatural moment of the resurrection, but it can and has verified the geographical theater of our salvation. The Gospel is not a "once upon a time" story; it is a "there in that garden" reality.
The discovery of the limestone quarry-turned-garden is not merely a geological curiosity; it is a profound chronological marker. For years, critics argued that the traditional site of the Holy Sepulchre was located inside the city walls of Jerusalem during the time of Christ, which would have invalidated it as a burial site according to Jewish law. However, archaeological probes have definitively shown that these walls were expanded by Herod Agrippa I only years after the crucifixion. The stones reveal that at the moment of our Lord’s sacrifice, this ground was indeed "outside the gate," preserving the legal and historical integrity of the Passion narrative.
Furthermore, the presence of agriculture remains, the soil containing grains, grapes, and figs paints a vivid picture of the "garden" mentioned in the Gospel of John. This was not a manicured park of leisure, but a working, living piece of Judean land. It underscores the profound humility of the Incarnation: that the King of Glory was laid to rest in the working soil of His own creation. The archaeology invites us to see the Resurrection not as a ghost story occurring in a vacuum, but as a cosmic event anchored in the very dirt and vegetation of the first century.
Finally, the specific architectural features of the tomb itself, uncovered during recent restorations of the Aedicule, provide a direct link to the burial customs of the wealthy in the Second Temple period. The presence of a "kokh" or burial niche and the rolling stone track found in similar tombs of that era validate the specific details provided by the Evangelists regarding Joseph of Arimathea’s "new tomb." Every measurement of the rock and every analysis of the mortar serves as a silent, physical witness that the story of the Empty Tomb is rooted in a specific, identifiable location that still speaks to us today.
    Preaching Lift:
If the resurrection happened in real space, then redemption happens in real lives. Your salvation is not symbolic, it is historical. Your deliverance is not theoretical, it is factual. Your hope is not imaginary, it is anchored in reality.

III. CAPERNAUM AND MAGDALA JESUS WALKED WHERE WE WALK
The shores of the Sea of Galilee aren't just beautiful landscapes; they are the floorboards of the Master's classroom. At Capernaum, known as Jesus' "own city," excavators found in 1968 the black basalt foundations of the very synagogue where He taught, and just steps away, an octagonal church built over a humble first-century home identified by early Christian graffiti as the House of Peter. This is where the healing of the paralytic and the centurion's servant weren't just stories, they were events. The theology of the Incarnation is etched into this basalt and limestone. When we touch these stones, we are touching the reality that the Word did not just become "idea" or "philosophy" He became flesh. He dwelt in a specific house, walked on specific floors, and breathed the air of a fishing village. The House of Peter serves as a monument to a God who is comfortable in the messy, ordinary spaces of our lives.
    A first‑century synagogue beneath a later structure
Homes arranged exactly as described in the Gospels
Fishing tools consistent with Peter’s profession
Even more striking is the recent discovery at Magdala. While building a retreat center, workers struck stone and found a perfectly preserved first-century synagogue, one of only seven in the world. They found the "Magdala Stone," a miniature representation of the Second Temple, likely seen and touched by Jesus Himself. These aren't just ruins; they are witnesses to the fact that Jesus occupied the same physical world we do. The Magdala Stone represents the bridge between the holiness of the Temple and the dust of the village. It tells us that Jesus brought the presence of God out of the distant sanctuary and into the marketplace. The Incarnation means that the "Holy of Holies" has entered the human experience, validating every square inch of our physical existence as a potential meeting place with the Divine.
    A first‑century synagogue
A carved stone depicting the Menorah
A thriving Jewish fishing village Mary Magdalene’s hometown
These discoveries confirm that Jesus’ ministry unfolded in real towns with real people not imaginary settings.
    Preaching Lift:
If Jesus walked into real towns, He can walk into your real situation. The archaeological record at Capernaum and Magdala proves that our Savior is not a distant, sanitized deity, but an Incarnate Lord who got His feet dusty in the same world where you struggle. He is not a mythical Redeemer or a symbolic figure; He is a present help in the real world for real people with real problems. Because He truly entered our history, He can truly transform your story.

IV. THE EXODUS AND THE FORTRESS OF TELL EL‑KHAROUBA: GOD GUIDES WITH STRATEGIC PURPOSE

In the blistering, arid expanse of the northern Sinai, at a strategic site known as Tell el-Kharouba, archaeologists have unearthed a massive Egyptian military installation that provides a startlingly clear window into the geopolitical landscape of the New Kingdom. This fortress was a critical link in the defensive chain guarding "The Way of Horus," the primary coastal international highway connecting Egypt to Canaan. The archaeological significance of this infrastructure cannot be overstated; excavations revealed thick mud-brick ramparts, sophisticated granaries, and residential quarters for a permanent garrison of elite Egyptian troops.
The presence of such advanced military infrastructure confirms that this "Way of the Philistines" was not merely a road, but a militarized zone. Tell el-Kharouba served as a logistics hub and early-warning system for Pharaoh’s chariot corps. For Israel, a newly liberated but militarily unproven assembly of former slaves, artisans, and families, to have attempted this route would have been a suicide mission. They were a non-combatant group laden with the elderly, children, and livestock totally unequipped to breach a fortified frontier guarded by the world's most advanced superpower.
    This fortress confirms:
Egypt heavily fortified the northern coastal route
Israel could not have taken the “short way”
Exodus 13:17–18 is historically accurate: “God led them not by the way of the Philistines… but by the wilderness.”
The theology of the "detour" in Exodus 13:17–18 is revealed here as an act of divine tactical genius and fatherly preservation. God did not lead them into the wilderness because He was lost; He led them there because He knew the vulnerability of their hearts and the reality of the Egyptian swords at Kharouba. The text says, "Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war." God understood that while the spirit might be willing, the trauma of slavery had not yet been replaced by the courage of the covenant. By diverting them from the coastal route, God was not delaying their destiny; He was protecting their fragile, burgeoning freedom from the crushing military reality of the "Way of Horus."
    Preaching Lift:
When God reroutes your life and sends you the "long way," it is not a sign of His absence, but of His strategic protection. The archaeology of the Sinai proves that His detours are often the only reason we survive the hidden fortresses of our enemies. The same God who saw the garrison at Tell el-Kharouba sees the obstacles in your future and is guiding you with a purpose that prioritizes your preservation over your speed.
    V. NEBUCHADNEZZAR’S CYLINDERS THE KING WHO FULFILLED PROPHECY
For generations, the Book of Daniel was dismissed by critics as a late-date pious fiction, written long after the events it purports to describe. Skeptics argued that its intimate details of the Babylonian court were too accurate to be prophetic and too specific to be historical. However, the shovel of the archaeologist has once again silenced the seat of the scornful. The discovery of numerous primary sources including the clay cylinders found near Kish and the monumental East India House Inscription has provided an archival, first-person look into the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II. These are not biblical commentaries; they are the official state records of a superpower, preserving the voice of the king himself across the chasm of two and a half millennia.
The physical evidence etched into these cylinders is staggering. They describe a monarch of unparalleled ambition whose construction projects transformed Babylon into the envy of the ancient world. The inscriptions detail the building of the Etemenanki ziggurat, the massive Ishtar Gate, and the formidable defensive walls that made the city seemingly impregnable. These artifacts confirm that the biblical portrait of Nebuchadnezzar is not a caricature, but a precise historical reflection of the man who stood at the center of the world's stage.
His absolute military and political dominance across the Ancient Near East
His historical role in the siege of Jerusalem and the destruction of Solomon’s Temple
His exhaustive architectural campaigns that mirrored the "Great Babylon" of Scripture
The theology of the Babylonian exile is anchored in the reality of Nebuchadnezzar’s pride. In Daniel 4:30, the king walks upon his palace roof and boasts, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?” The East India House Inscription contains words that are eerily similar, recording his obsession with his own legacy and his "mighty work" for the glory of his name. This is more than a linguistic parallel; it is a spiritual revelation. It shows that God does not merely observe history; He manages it. He took a king who sought to immortalize himself in clay and stone and used him to fulfill the prophetic purposes of the Almighty, proving that the heart of the king is but a stream in the hand of the Lord.
    Preaching Lift:
If God can take the most powerful monarch of the ancient world, a man who thought he was a god, a king who commanded empires with a whisper and turn him into a servant of His divine decree, then there is no authority on this earth that can overrule God’s plan for you. The archaeological record of Nebuchadnezzar proves that the "Great Babylon" of man’s ambition is merely a footstool for the King of Kings. You need not fear the "kings" and "cylinders" of this world; for the same God who held the heart of Babylon holds your future in His hands. His sovereignty is the final word, and His providence is the ultimate architecture of your life.

ARCHAEOLOGY AND THE GOD WHO ACTS IN HISTORY
    Luke 19:40; Psalm 85:11
VI. THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS GOD PRESERVES HIS WORD IN THE WILDERNESS
In 1947, a young Bedouin shepherd threw a stone into a cave near Qumran and heard pottery shatter. That unexpected sound led to a monumental discovery that changed biblical scholarship forever: the Dead Sea Scrolls. Hidden away in those desert caves lay ancient jars holding priceless manuscripts that had remained preserved across two millennia.
    Inside those caves were:
Over 900 manuscripts, representing a vast library of theological and community documents.
Copies of every Old Testament book except Esther, confirming the textual canon used in the Second Temple period.
A complete scroll of Isaiah dated to around 125 BCE, which is virtually identical to the texts used today.
Texts that match the Masoretic Hebrew Bible with astonishing accuracy, silencing those who claimed the Bible had evolved over time.
The Dead Sea Scrolls provide undeniable historical confirmation that the Scriptures we read today are not corrupted, altered, or distorted. Across centuries of copying and historical upheaval, the Word has been supernaturally preserved. This discovery serves as a bridge across time, linking our modern Bibles directly to the hands of ancient scribes who treated every letter as sacred.
    Preaching Lift:
If God can preserve His Word in a cave for 2,000 years, He can preserve you in the wilderness of your life. No matter how isolated, dry, or challenging your surroundings may feel, your calling and destiny remain secure in His hands. Just as the scrolls were kept safe from the elements, God is keeping you safe from the fires of your trials. The scrolls cried out from the desert: “The Word of God endures forever.”
VII. HEZEKIAH’S TUNNEL WHEN FAITH BUILDS WHAT FEAR CANNOT STOP
In 701 BCE, King Hezekiah faced the threat of Assyrian invasion. Scripture says he built a tunnel to secure Jerusalem’s water supply (2 Chronicles 32:30) Archaeologists found that tunnel 1,750 feet long, carved through solid rock, meeting perfectly in the middle.
Inside the tunnel, they found an inscription describing:
    The workers
    The engineering
The breakthrough moment when the two teams met
    The exact biblical event
    The stones cried out.
The architectural feat of Hezekiah’s Tunnel is more than an engineering marvel; it is a physical manifestation of the synergy between human responsibility and divine sovereignty. When the Assyrian king Sennacherib boasted of shutting up Hezekiah "like a bird in a cage," he underestimated a king who had already secured his city's lifeblood. The Siloam Inscription, discovered on the tunnel wall, records that the two teams of stonecutters guided by the sound of their axes meeting in the middle, bridged a gap that should have been impossible to navigate with such precision. This "breakthrough" was not merely a victory of craftsmanship, but a victory of a people who refused to let the drought of fear dictate their destiny.
Archaeologically, the tunnel validates the specific strategic measures detailed in the biblical text, proving that Hezekiah did not simply pray and wait, he prayed and prepared. The Gihon Spring, Jerusalem’s only permanent water source, was redirected into the city to ensure that "the kings of Assyria should not come and find much water." The stones tell us that the "God who acts in history" often acts through the calloused hands of those who are willing to dig in the dark. The theology of the tunnel teaches us that when we move in obedience to secure the "living water" of God's presence, the obstacles of solid rock must eventually yield to the progress of the promise.

    Preaching Lift:
Faith does not wait for crisis faith prepares for victory. Hezekiah dug a tunnel before the enemy arrived. Some of you need to start digging before the battle begins.
VIII. THE PONTIUS PILATE INSCRIPTION THE GOVERNOR WHO COULD NOT STOP GOD’S PLAN
For centuries, skeptical scholars and critics claimed that Pontius Pilate was nothing more than a fictional character or a literary invention. But in 1961, in the ancient seaside city of Caesarea Maritima, archaeologists turned over a limestone block and uncovered a monumental discovery. Carved directly into the stone was an authentic first-century inscription reading: “Pontius Pilate, Prefect of Judea.” The very Roman governor who presided over the trial of Christ and condemned Jesus to be crucified had his name and official title indelibly etched into physical history.
    This limestone inscription confirms:
The historical existence and official role of Pontius Pilate as Prefect of Judea.
The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts detailing the trial and condemnation of Jesus.
That human rulers and political authorities cannot stop or erase God’s sovereign plan.
Pilate famously sought to wash his hands of Jesus and distance himself from the judgment, yet he could not wash his name out of human history. Though he held earthly power and sentenced the Savior, the physical stone at Caesarea Maritima remained hidden for generation

Preaching Lift: If God can preserve His Word in a cave for 2,000 years, He can preserve you in the wilderness of your life. No matter how isolated, dry, or challenging your surroundings may feel, your calling and destiny remain secure in His hands. Just as the scrolls were kept safe from the elements, God is keeping you safe from the fires of your trials. The scrolls cried out from the desert: “The Word of God endures forever.” VII. HEZEKIAH’S TUNNEL WHEN FAITH BUILDS WHAT FEAR CANNOT STOP In 701 BCE, King Hezekiah faced the threat of Assyrian invasion. Scripture says he built a tunnel to secure Jerusalem’s water supply (2 Chronicles 32:30) Archaeologists found that tunnel 1,750 feet long, carved through solid rock, meeting perfectly in the middle. Inside the tunnel, they found an inscription describing: The workers The engineering The breakthrough moment when the two teams met The exact biblical event The stones cried out. Preaching Lift: Faith does not wait for crisis faith prepares for victory. Hezekiah dug a tunnel before the enemy arrived. Some of you need to start digging before the battle begins. VIII. THE PONTIUS PILATE INSCRIPTION THE GOVERNOR WHO COULD NOT STOP GOD’S PLAN For centuries, skeptical scholars and critics claimed that Pontius Pilate was nothing more than a fictional character or a literary invention. This limestone inscription confirms: The historical existence and official role of Pontius Pilate as Prefect of Judea.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    WEDNESDAY JULY 29, 2O26.
"DEAL WITH THE STUMBLING BLOCKS (1)"

'Make up your mind not to put any stumbling block…in your brother’s way.’
    Romans 14:13 NIV

IF YOU want to win someone to Christ, there are certain stumbling blocks you may have to remove. Let’s be honest, people are turned off by religion for a lot of reasons—legitimate ones. Let’s look at some: 1) Hypocrisy. Think about the twelve disciples; one of them betrayed Jesus, one denied Him, and one doubted Him. That’s a 25% failure rate! But the good news is, Jesus continues to love us and work with us in spite of our problems. 2) Terminology. If you grew up in the church, you’re probably familiar with Bible terminology. But don’t assume everybody else is, or you’ll talk over their heads. When Jesus talked to shepherds, He discussed sheep. When He talked to farmers, He discussed sowing and reaping. Identify the person’s interests and spiritual needs, then use language they understand. 3) Negative emphasis. If your major emphasis is on what people can’t do, they’ll run in the opposite direction. A well-known preacher says, ‘I grew up understanding what our church was against, but never what it was for. Basically, we were against everything!’ Smiling, he added, ‘We preached against smoking and drinking. We especially preached against adultery, because we believed that could lead to dancing.’ Seriously, the gospel is not about what you lose when you come to Christ, but what you gain. Jesus said, ‘…I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10 NIV). If you’re serious about winning people to Christ, you must recognise the stumbling blocks that stand in their way and try to remove them.

    ```TEXT:JAMES 2:1-9```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors" (JAMES 2:9).*_

*Christianity and its adherents have indisputably been described as humanity's revolutionary "pioneers for legal equality". In his seminal study, _Real Faith,_ the American evangelist, Mark Driscoll, writes: "Christians broke ground on the battle for...equality... The Bible from beginning to end describes God's heart for the poor and commands His people to be generous (and respectful) toward those who possess little or nothing...Christianity does not allow us to equate net worth with self-worth."*

*Apostle James' inspired dictum on how not to treat the underclass in the Church or society is but a slice of the unequivocal stand of Christ on the matter. As He walked the streets during His ministry, the Lord never contemned the poor or wretched sinner because of their socioeconomic status. He was (still is) their Friend. He brought down all class distinction and taught His disciples that His Father's love extends to all humanity, beyond Jewry, religion or politics.*

*Great changes, movements and reforms over the generations along with the emergence of landmark constitutions such as that of the United States in 1787, have a heavy and unmistakable infusion of the teachings of Christianity on the equality of all men and women. This attests to the inerrant position of our Lord that He brought a message meant to transform lives for a rancour-free relationship among men, and prepare us for a hereafter of harmonious experience.*

*The Lord does not expect Christians to wear a partisan or condescending outlook in our assembly or outside it. Christianity has given the world a "royal law" that disavows looking down on the deprived in order to please the rich. James says those who flout such a creed that has benefited humanity are "transgressors". We do not only need to embrace the law wholeheartedly in the home and in our congregations, we also need to practise it in our workplaces. We must be doers of the Word.*

*In February 2025, in Winterset, Iowa, U.S.A., Keigan Reisor, a 16-year-old secondary school student, found himself and his family trapped in their home by a sudden flood. Torrential rains had overwhelmed rivers and drainage systems, and in hours, water was rising fast around their house. Keigan's mother panicked, and his younger sister cried. They were scared and had no way out, and the roads turned into rivers.*

*But Keigan remembered a verse he had learned in youth group: Isaiah 43:2. He held onto that verse as a lifeline. Instead of panicking, he began praying aloud and singing worship songs to calm his sister and encourage his mother. After hours of waiting in the cold, a rescue team arrived in boats and helped the family to safety.*

*The phrase 'fear not' and its variants appear over eighty times in the King James Version of the Bible, emphasising the significance of trusting God always, giving no room for worry. Fear weakens faith and hinders one from receiving from God. All things are possible with God, and if you trust Him, nothing shall be impossible.*

In the examination hall, Emily spotted Olivia copying answers from a tiny piece of paper she had sneaked in. She tried asking for answers to one of the questions but Olivia refused, for fear of being caught. Because of this, Emily raised her hand and reported Olivia to the teacher, who seized the piece of paper; and after much pleadings, asked her to start all over on a new, fresh answer script.

However, towards the end of the examination, the teacher noticed that Emily was restless and behaving in a suspicious way. She walked up to her table and asked her to raise her answer booklet. Lo and behold, there was a full page of all the answers neatly scribbled.

The teacher wrote *"CHEATED"* on her examination answer booklet in bold letters and walked her out of the examination hall. Check yourself! Do you engage in stealing, cheating, backbiting, and other vices that you condemn in other people?

*Like Jesus warned, you're to remove the log of wood in your own eyes before removing the speck from others. It is true that you cannot give out what you don't have. Instead of always pointing accusing fingers at others, examine yourself and pray to be free from every form of sinful behaviour. That done, it will be a lot easier to correct and point out the way of salvation to others. Your life is a book before the world, does it point them to Jesus?*

    *AVOID PARTIALITY: IT IS SIN*

    *TEXT:* JAMES 2:1-9.

1.My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
    2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

*Timeless Truth:*_"But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors"_ (James 2:9).

    *INTRODUCTION*

Partiality and favouritism are part of the mark of the corrupted adamic nature. God is impartial and He expects His children to reflect His character in their relationships with others. Favouritism is the act of treating people differently based on their appearance, wealth, social status, tribe or influence. Scriptures strongly condemn this attitude because it contradicts the gospel of Christ, who died for all and takes every soul to be equally in need of redemption. Every believer must guard against prejudice and show the same love and respect to everyone, knowing that all people are created in God's image.

    *1. The Commandment against Favouritism*

a.James begins with a direct command: *"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ... with respect of persons."* The Christian faith is incompatible with favouritism and partiality. Genuine faith in Christ cannot coexist with partiality. God created each soul with His breath, He gave the same life to all and made the same heaven for all without discrimination. The gospel is the same and the conditions for salvation are the same for all. It is the same Rapture for all believers. The Gospel of Christ breaks all barriers, via social, race, status, education and wealth. During Christ days here on earth, He welcomed the rich and the poor, the influential and the rejected without discrimination. When believers show favouritism, they misrepresent the nature of Christ and weaken the testimony of the Church. b. The faith of Christ is a leveler. *"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus"* (Galatians 3:28). True Christianity values people because of who they are before God, not because of what they possess.

    *Question*

Does my attitude towards people reflect Christ's impartial love or am I influenced by their social status and outward appearance?

    *2. Cases of Favouritism*

    a. James illustrates favouritism with the example of giving the wealthy man a place of honour while humiliating the poor man. Such conduct exposes worldly thinking and evil motives. Definitely, people have different positions and some are given special honour because of their positions. However, giving honour to such people should not translate to dishonouring or disrespecting others. Everyone should be given due honour and respect. *"Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king"* (1 Peter 2:17). The Church should be a place where everyone receives equal dignity and acceptance. Judging people by external appearance instead of godly character creates division and dishonours God. Believers must consciously reject every form of discrimination based on wealth, education, ethnicity or influence.
b.Those who are partial *"are become judges of evil thoughts"* because it involves pride, deriding and degrading God's creatures in their thoughts. The Scriptures ask, *"Who maketh thee to differ?"*. All God's human creations regardless of race, social and material status are equal before Him. Also, in the day of judgment, there will be no special consideration or special treatment of anybody before God. God will judge without any partiality where everybody will be naked before Him and the servant will be freed from their masters.

    *Question*

Do I ever treat someone differently because of his or her appearance, possessions, position or background?

    *3. Concerns Over Favouritism*

a.James gives serious reasons why favouritism is sinful and does not make sense. The people who are poor are often more serious with their faith than those we specially esteem because of who and what they possess. *"Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom?"*. The people Jesus chose as His disciples were not even lettered men and yet they were the people who *"turned the world upside down"* and their ministries remain blessings to generations after them. God has often chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of His kingdom. Ironically, some of those receiving preferential treatment are sometimes the very people who oppress the poor.
    b. Above all, favouritism violates the royal law: *"Love your neighbour as yourself."* Anyone who practices partiality becomes guilty of sin before God. Love cannot be selective; it must be impartial, sincere and Christ-like.

    *Question*

Am I fulfilling the royal law of love by treating every person with equal respect and compassion?

    *Prayer Points*

1.Lord, forgive me for every form of favouritism, prejudice and partiality in my heart .
2.Father, fill me with Christ's love so that I will treat every person with dignity and respect .
3.Purge Your Church from all carnal discriminations and favouritism .
4.Lord, help our church to reflect Your impartial nature and welcome everyone without discrimination.

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ⏤ Romans 8:15

The greatest privilege of prayer is not what you can get from God, but simply to be with God. ⏤ A.W. Tozer

It is a great comfort, our Father, to always be able to come to You with our needs. It is reassuring to know that You are truly our Father. We understand something of what fatherhood means to a child, and it is wonderful to know that You are our divine Father, not just in name, but in all that a father can be to a child—You are to us, and even more, as Your divinity is greater than humanity. Help us to know You as our Father, to trust in Your fatherly love for us, and in Your fatherly care.

Grant us the spirit of being Your children, the spirit of adoption, that we may look up to You and say, "Abba, Father!" May we be obedient children, doing all that You ask us to do. May we honor You as children are taught to honor their parents. May our commitment and our actions be worthy of You. Let us never do anything that would bring dishonor to You. May Your image be reflected in our lives so clearly and brightly that everyone who sees us will see Your divine fatherly qualities shining through us.

Today, as we go out into the world, we ask that we may indeed go as Your children. We will need Your protection. The world is full of dangers, subtle enemies, insidious influences, and crafty evils. We cannot take care of ourselves—so we ask You to take care of us. Hide us away in the secret of Your presence, from the strife of tongues.

We will need Your sustaining grace for every step of the way—grace upon grace. Just as the flowers cannot live without Heaven's dew, rain, and sunshine—so neither can we live without Your love and strength. Fill us with Your Spirit. Pour Your love into our hearts. Then we will be able to live lives worthy of Your children. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

In his seminal study, _Real Faith,_ the American evangelist, Mark Driscoll, writes: "Christians broke ground on the battle for...equality... The Bible from beginning to end describes God's heart for the poor and commands His people to be generous (and respectful) toward those who possess little or nothing...Christianity does not allow us to equate net worth with self-worth."* *Apostle James' inspired dictum on how not to treat the underclass in the Church or society is but a slice of the unequivocal stand of Christ on the matter. As He walked the streets during His ministry, the Lord never contemned the poor or wretched sinner because of their socioeconomic status. He was (still is) their Friend. He brought down all class distinction and taught His disciples that His Father's love extends to all humanity, beyond Jewry, religion or politics.* *Great changes, movements and reforms over the generations along with the emergence of landmark constitutions such as that of the United States in 1787, have a heavy and unmistakable infusion of the teachings of Christianity on the equality of all men and women. This attests to the inerrant position of our Lord that He brought a message meant to transform lives for a rancour-free relationship among men, and prepare us for a hereafter of harmonious experience.* *The Lord does not expect Christians to wear a partisan or condescending outlook in our assembly or outside it. Christianity has given the world a "royal law" that disavows looking down on the deprived in order to please the rich. James says those who flout such a creed that has benefited humanity are "transgressors". Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? 7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? 8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. *Timeless Truth:*_"But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors"_ (James 2:9). *INTRODUCTION* Partiality and favouritism are part of the mark of the corrupted adamic nature. *1. The Commandment against Favouritism* a.James begins with a direct command: *"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ... with respect of persons."* The Christian faith is incompatible with favouritism and partiality. *Question* Does my attitude towards people reflect Christ's impartial love or am I influenced by their social status and outward appearance? *2. Cases of Favouritism* a. *Question* Do I ever treat someone differently because of his or her appearance, possessions, position or background? *3. Concerns Over Favouritism* a.James gives serious reasons why favouritism is sinful and does not make sense. *Question* Am I fulfilling the royal law of love by treating every person with equal respect and compassion? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, forgive me for every form of favouritism, prejudice and partiality in my heart 🙏. 2.Father, fill me with Christ's love so that I will treat every person with dignity and respect 🙏. 3.Purge Your Church from all carnal discriminations and favouritism 🙏. 4.Lord, help our church to reflect Your impartial nature and welcome everyone without discrimination🙏. *HYMN:* The way of the cross leads home *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EPHESIANS 1-3. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ⏤ Romans 8:15 The greatest privilege of prayer is not what you can get from God, but simply to be with God. ⏤ A.W. Tozer It is a great comfort, our Father, to always be able to come to You with our needs. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/24/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.

  • For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. 1 Samuel 3:13

One major reason God was angry with Eli was that he knew about the wrong behaviour and sinful lifestyle of his children yet he could not take a fatherly and priestly stand to bring them to order.
Many parents still behave like Eli today. They see their children doing what is wrong and living a lifestyle that is not according to God's will and all they say is, it is their time; when they grow up they will change. The society is now structured to encourage and teach a lifestyle that displeases the Lord. We have invented what the Scripture calls abominable customs.
From our homes to the church, from schools to the offices, from the market to the sporting grounds, we must take responsibility to correct every wrong doing. We should not accommodate or encourage a lifestyle that displeases God.
Eli was brought to judgment because he accommodated and quietly encouraged the behaviour which was disgusting and sinful before the congregation of the children of Israel and God Himself.
God is calling us to stand up for a righteous lifestyle.

    Our Good Shepherd

    By John Dinzey

    June 27th, 2026

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” John 10:11

From Genesis to Revelation there is abundant evidence of God’s goodness, kindness, gentleness, fatherly care, and incomparable love. One of the most articulate in expressing these characteristics is David the Psalmist. He uses powerful and comforting expressions such as, “God is our refuge and strength,” “He heals the brokenhearted,” and “The Lord will bless His people with peace.” Psalm 46:1; 147:3; 29:11.

However, one of the most comforting phrases comes from his personal experience as a shepherd. David learned to love the sheep that were under his care. He carefully watched over them, fed them, carried them in his arms, gently bound up their wounds, protected them from the weather that would cause them harm, and even risked his life to defend them by fighting off a lion and a bear. So when he uses the words, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,” He speaks from a perspective that says volumes about God’s love and concern for us.

My friend, in the same way—whether you noticed or not, and whether you thanked Him or not—God has been nurturing, protecting, and caring for you throughout your life.

In the book of Isaiah the prophet, we can see this continuing revelation of God’s love and care for you and me. Notice what it says: “Behold, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.” Isaiah 40:10–11.

Now that is a marvelous picture of God! A comforting revelation of God’s true love for us.

Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” John 10:10–11.

Will you let Him love you that way? Will you allow the Lord to be your Shepherd? Consider the blessings and benefits God is offering you. Psalm 23 says that if you allow the Lord to be your Shepherd, He will restore your soul, lead you in the paths of righteousness, and that even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you don’t have to fear evil because God will be with you. And consider this: surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.

𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆, 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒔𝒕 𝑨𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕

Imagine a young child standing in the quiet vacuum of a suddenly empty home, burdened with a massive responsibility that would easily crush most grown adults. When a biological mother vanishes without any explanation, leaving behind three infants, and a father is subsequently incapacitated by severe illness for an entire year, the normal trajectory of childhood ends instantly. In this quiet domestic disaster, a young boy is forced to transition from a protected dependent into both a father and a mother to his tiny siblings. There are no structural handbooks for premature parenting at that tender age, nor is there any time to grieve the sudden theft of innocent playground laughter. The daily struggle becomes an immediate battle for basic survival, characterised by preparing meals, soothing infant tears, and managing an anxious household while your own heart breaks silently. This profound subversion of standard domestic order forces a vulnerable youth to look far beyond human limitations to find a steady, supernatural anchor for absolute emotional survival.

This extraordinary trial reveals a foundational truth about how genuine character is formed under intense pressure. True leaders, wise guides, and faithful protectors are rarely produced in environments of unblemished comfort and predictable safety. Instead, they are often cast into the furnace of early adversity where they must earnestly learn to provide before they have ever been provided for by others. When earthly parental structures shatter entirely, a child faces an existential choice between bitter emotional collapse and deep spiritual dependency. By discovering a divine father figure, an ultimate mentor often known historically as the master eagle hunter or Berkutchi, a wounded soul finds the supreme blueprint for ultimate guardianship. This sacred relationship redefines the meaning of family, transforming an abandoned orphan into an active agent of profound grace. The suffering that threatened to destroy your future becomes the very soil from which generational strength slowly emerges, demonstrating that divine parenting can completely rebuild what human absence originally broke so painfully.

    The Accelerant of Premature Responsibility

The weight of premature responsibility acts as a severe accelerant for psychological and spiritual growth. When you are forced to govern a household at an age when your peers are merely learning basic social games, the luxury of careless youth is permanently revoked. You do not have the option to procrastinate or retreat into adolescent self-indulgence because helpless lives depend entirely on your immediate choices. This forced maturity creates a unique cognitive perspective where every action is weighed against its direct impact on others. It strips away superficial vanity, replacing it with a sober understanding of duty and survival. While this early burden can feel like an unjust imprisonment, it simultaneously builds an uncommon capacity for endurance and logistical execution. You begin to develop the instincts of a seasoned guardian long before your physical frame has fully matured, establishing a clear foundation of dependability that will define your entire future approach to leadership and communal care within your chosen career and profession.

    The Catalyst of Parental Absence

The pain of sudden parental absence creates a profound emotional vacancy that can either poison a life or prompt an intense search for transcendent truth. When the primary figures designated to offer protection and provision vanish through abandonment or prolonged physical illness, the foundational sense of earthly security evaporates completely. You are left to navigate a chaotic world without the traditional emotional buffering that a healthy family structure normally provides. This deep wounding often generates a persistent, quiet anxiety regarding stability, trust, and personal worth. However, when this grief is encountered with courage, it prevents you from placing ultimate faith in fragile human institutions or flawed individuals. You quickly realise that human anchors are inherently vulnerable to failure, decay, and sudden disappearance. Consequently, this painful disillusionment drives your heart to seek a higher, unshakeable source of validation, turning an organsing personal tragedy into an essential catalyst for genuine spiritual awakening and mature independence across your entire earthly existence and personal development.

The Metaphor of the Divine Anchor

Finding an ultimate divine anchor amidst the ruins of early childhood provides the exact template required to construct an authentic identity. In Central Asian traditions, the Berkutchi is a master eagle trainer who guides, protects, and provides for the magnificent bird with absolute dedication, teaching it how to soar and hunt effectively. When you adopt this profound metaphor for your relationship with the divine, your perspective on abandonment shifts dramatically. You no longer view yourself as a forgotten casualty of a broken home, but as a prized creature being intentionally trained by an expert celestial master. This supreme mentor steps into the massive void left by human absence, offering consistent wisdom, unwavering protection, and steady provision. As you absorb these divine attributes daily through prayer and meditation, your internal landscape undergoes a thorough transformation. You begin to understand that true fatherhood is not merely biological, but structural, spiritual, and deeply relational, anchored securely in eternal, unwavering, and absolute celestial fidelity.

The Generative Power of Transformed Trauma

Transforming early personal trauma into generative fatherhood allows you to become a safe harbour for other broken lives. The suffering you endured as a vulnerable ten-year-old child does not have to remain a source of permanent emotional deficit. Instead, the very skills you developed while managing a crisis become the primary tools you use to build up your community. Because you experienced abandonment directly, you possess an exceptional degree of empathy for the marginalised, the lonely, and the unprotected. You intentionally choose to embody the roles of a wise guide, a strong protector, and a faithful provider for those who currently wander without direction. This active choice represents the ultimate victory over past adversity, ensuring that the cycle of brokenness stops completely with you. By mentoring others with the same unconditional love you received from your divine anchor, you create a lasting legacy of stability that inspires subsequent generations to overcome their own deep wounds with remarkable, enduring, and inspiring resilience.

    Illustrative Case Study

Consider the historical reality of Anthony Ashley Cooper, the Seventh Earl of Shaftesbury, who grew up in nineteenth-century Britain under conditions of profound emotional neglect. Though born into immense aristocratic privilege, his biological parents were cold, severe, and entirely detached, leaving him isolated within a vast, echoing manor. In this environment of severe emotional starvation, he faced immense psychological pressure that could have easily twisted his young character into cynical arrogance. However, the trajectory of his life shifted dramatically through the quiet, consistent care of a devout family housekeeper named Maria Millis. She stepped into the parental vacuum, introducing him to a compassionate, protecting divine reality, and provided the emotional anchor his parents withheld. When she died before he turned ten years old, he was left to navigate the rigid structures of British society alone, carrying a heavy burden of grief while clinging tightly to the spiritual principles she had so gently instilled during his formative and early childhood years.

The consequences of this divine fathering model became evident as Cooper transitioned into adulthood and entered the chambers of Parliament. Rather than pursuing personal luxury, he transformed his early experiences of isolation into an unyielding mission to protect the most vulnerable members of society. Inspired by his deep spiritual conviction, he became a wise guide and a fierce provider for destitute factory children, mentally ill individuals, and exploited chimney sweeps. His legislation fundamentally altered the industrial landscape of Britain, establishing legal safeguards that rescued millions from horrific exploitation. Cooper effectively became a national father figure because he had learned, through early heartache, to rely completely on a heavenly protector. His life proves that the pain of an empty childhood, when filtered through profound faith, can construct an enduring legacy of systemic rescue. By allowing divine love to fill his early wounds, he became an architect of societal transformation, showing how a broken youth can be beautifully remade into a great champion.

    Personal Connection and Human Reflection

When you examine your own life, you may recognise the familiar sting of unmet emotional needs and parental deficits. Many people carry silent wounds inflicted by parents who were physically absent, emotionally distant, or incapacitated by the exhausting struggles of daily survival. You might find yourself questioning how you can possibly become a stable source of strength for others when your own foundation feels incredibly fractured and insecure. The pressure to provide, protect, and guide can feel deeply overwhelming when you have never experienced those gifts from a mature human mentor. This internal tension often manifests as a persistent, quiet fear of failure, causing you to shrink away from serious relational or leadership responsibilities. It is easy to conclude that you are disqualified from building a healthy family or community because of the historical chaos that defined your early development. You may feel trapped by the legacy of abandonment, believing that your past permanently dictates your capacity for future stability and growth.

However, true growth occurs when you realise that your early deficits do not define your eventual destiny. The absence of an earthly father or mother can become the precise catalyst that drives you directly into the embrace of a flawless divine parent. When you surrender your deep childhood wounds to this celestial guardian, you receive an entirely new standard of ultimate protection and consistent provision. This shift in perspective clarifies your understanding, allowing you to view your early hardships as a rigorous training ground rather than an unfair punishment. You begin to understand that you can offer others the very guidance you once craved because you have discovered an inexhaustible source of love. Your identity is no longer anchored in human frailty or family dysfunction, but in divine fidelity. This realisation empowers you to step confidently into your role as a protector, understanding that your history has uniquely equipped you to lead with deep empathy and profound wisdom for long-term success.

Call to Reflection and Personal Application

To apply this wisdom practically, you must actively challenge the underlying assumption that your emotional history makes you permanently vulnerable or defective. It is vital to audit the internal narratives you maintain regarding your personal capacity to protect and provide for others. Examine whether you are hiding behind the excuse of past neglect to avoid stepping into necessary roles of leadership within your family or community. True self-awareness requires you to identify the specific moments where fear of abandonment causes you to withdraw from deep relational commitments. You must acknowledge that carrying responsibility early was not a sentence of permanent brokenness, but a profound reshaping of your inner strength. By facing these internal patterns directly, you can begin to dismantle the defensive walls that prevent you from becoming a reliable guide. This honest assessment is the initial phase of stepping out of passive victimhood into active, purposeful, and enduring maturity for the rest of your entire earthly life and leadership journey.

Furthermore, you must adjust your daily behaviours to reflect your reliance on a divine father figure rather than temporary human approval. Begin by intentionally carving out dedicated time each day to commune with your ultimate protector, absorbing His guidance and instructions. This practical discipline shifts your focus from the panic of daily survival to the clarity of eternal purpose. When managing difficulties, consciously refuse to react out of old childhood anxieties or defensive habits. Instead, pause and ask what a wise, loving provider would do in your specific situation, then execute that action with quiet confidence. You must also actively extend protection and support to those around you, turning your attention outward rather than remaining self-absorbed. As you consistently apply this divine blueprint to your personal and professional relationships, you will notice a gradual stabilisation of your emotional state. Your life will begin to radiate genuine fatherly strength, proving that divine dependency produces practical, human-centred transformation for everyone involved in your sphere.

    Seven Actionable Insights

    1. Recognise the Structural Impact of Early Parental Deficits

You must become fully aware of how early parental absence or childhood responsibility has shaped your current emotional patterns. Avoid minimising the profound impact of abandonment or early caregiving duties, as these experiences construct your primary views on security and survival. Look closely at your daily reactions to stress, noting if you instantly assume a posture of anxious self-reliance. This awareness allows you to identify where you are operating out of survival instincts rather than mature, deliberate choices. Acknowledging these hidden forces prevents them from quietly controlling your life, allowing you to observe your internal landscape without any judgment or unnecessary shame as you actively prepare for genuine, lasting, and meaningful growth.

Conscious Awareness Disarms the Power of Past Trauma

Developing deep personal awareness strips away the invisible control of historical hurts, giving you the mental clarity needed to break repetitive behavioural cycles. You gain the essential capacity to separate your present identity from past family chaos, ensuring you lead others from a position of conscious stability rather than unhealed, painful, and deeply repressed childhood anxiety, pain, and fear.

    2. Reflect Deeply on Your Current Parental Metaphors

You must spend intentional time reflecting on how you conceptualise ultimate authority and fatherhood in your private thoughts. If you view guardianship through the lens of human abandonment, you will naturally project those anxieties onto your relationships and your spiritual life. Examine your underlying definitions of a provider and protector, questioning if they are limited by the failures of your childhood family structures. This reflective process allows you to separate flawed human models from perfect divine blueprints, clearing space for a superior framework of mentorship to take root. By analysing these concepts deeply, you open your heart to receive the unconditional training of a true celestial master who never, under any circumstances, abandons his sacred post.

Deep Reflection Separates Divine Truth From Human Failures

Engaging in structured reflection breaks the connection between human disappointment and divine truth, establishing an accurate mental model for true fatherhood. This clarity allows you to perceive the divine master as a reliable source of wisdom, liberating you to provide consistent care to others without ever reproducing historical, painful, and deeply destructive family errors in your own daily conduct and leadership.

    3. Embrace Complete Emotional Honesty Regarding Your Personal Grief

You must practise complete emotional honesty by admitting the deep grief and exhaustion caused by premature childhood responsibilities. Pretending that the sudden departure of a mother or the severe illness of a father did not hurt you only preserves internal bitterness. Confess the hidden anger and resentment you may have carried for years regarding the theft of your innocent youth. This level of honesty is not a sign of weakness, but a vital prerequisite for genuine spiritual restoration. When you bring your unedited pain before your divine anchor, you allow real comfort to replace defensive stoicism. Emotional honesty breaks the cycle of denial, enabling you to receive profound inner healing and genuine personal restoration.

Emotional Honesty Dissolves the Hidden Deficits of Vulnerability

Embracing rigorous emotional honesty dissolves the toxic accumulation of repressed grief, allowing genuine warmth to enter your character. By admitting your past pain, you discharge its negative energy, ensuring you protect others from a posture of authentic power rather than brittle, anxious, and defensive emotional conduct. This builds trust within your immediate family circle and broader social and professional community.

    4. Adopt a Mindset of Divine Training and Guardianship

You must intentionally adjust your mindset from that of a victimised orphan to a trained ward of the divine Berkutchi. Stop viewing your early hardships as an indication that you are uniquely cursed or forsaken by life. Instead, cultivate a perspective that views early responsibility as a rigorous preparation programme for exceptional leadership capacity. This mental shift transforms your memory of childhood isolation into a source of strategic wisdom and profound capability. When you realise that the supreme protector was actively raising you amidst the chaos, your structural insecurity evaporates. You begin to look at difficulties not as threats to survival, but as standard training exercises designed to sharpen your personal governance and strength.

Mindset Adjustment Reframes Past Suffering Into Strategic Strength

Adjusting your foundational mindset allows you to see the hidden value within early suffering, unlocking internal leadership reserves. You stop waiting for human validation and begin operating as a fully authorised provider, offering steady guidance to those who currently rely on your emotional and spiritual strength within your daily life. This fosters deep, abundant, and lasting communal trust and respect.

    5. Execute Definite Behavioural Actions of Guidance and Protection

You must translate your internal healing into definite behavioural actions by intentionally serving as a protector for the vulnerable. Identify individuals within your social sphere who are currently navigating confusion or abandonment, and actively offer them your wise guidance. Do not wait until you feel perfectly qualified but instead initiate practical steps of caregiving and reliable provision immediately. This active involvement forces you to practise the exact attributes of the celestial mentor who sustained you during your childhood crisis. By showing up consistently for others, you ground your spiritual convictions in real-world utility. Behavioural action cements your transformation, proving that you have successfully shifted from a needy dependent into a generative anchor for society.

Practical Behavioural Action Validates and Seals Internal Transformation

Taking practical behavioural action validates your inner healing, transforming abstract spiritual beliefs into visible relational security. As you actively protect those around you, you break the cycle of historic deprivation, establishing your position as a reliable, trustworthy, and highly effective guide within your household and community. This ensures that your efforts bear fruit for generations to come quite visibly and powerfully.

    6. Maintain Absolute Consistency in Your Daily Caregiving Duties

You must maintain absolute consistency in your leadership roles, refusing to allow emotional fluctuations to disrupt your responsibilities. True fatherhood is defined by enduring reliability, not intermittent bursts of enthusiastic involvement driven by convenience. When fatigue or old anxieties threaten to paralyse your efforts, remember the unwavering fidelity of your celestial master. Commit to showing up for your dependents even when the immediate rewards are entirely invisible. This disciplined consistency builds deep trust within your family structure, providing the emotional stability you were denied as a child. By staying steady through repetitive daily tasks, you reinforce your identity as a faithful provider, permanently cementing a lasting legacy of unshakeable, enduring, and absolute reliability.

Disciplined Consistency Solidifies Trust and Stabilises Family Environments

Practising disciplined consistency solidifies relational trust, transforming an unpredictable family environment into a sanctuary of absolute safety. Your steady presence assures dependents of continuous protection, effectively neutralising the lingering generational fears of sudden human abandonment across your entire household for the long-term future. This fosters uncommon harmony and peace among those you love most dearly in this world today.

    7. Secure a Generational Legacy of Wise Spiritual Fatherhood

You must commit to the long-term process of generational transformation, recognising that real structural change takes decades to mature. The final stage of this journey is reached when your identity as a provider is fully integrated into your character. You are no longer merely reacting to childhood deficits. Instead, you are actively writing a new family history based entirely on divine fidelity. This enduring transformation ensures that your children and community inherit a legacy of wisdom, protection, and security rather than trauma. The scars of your early abandonment are completely transfigured into badges of honour, proving that a broken ten-year-old child can successfully become a foundational pillar of generational strength under loving celestial mentorship.

Long-Term Transformation Secures an Unshakeable Generational Spiritual Legacy

Securing a long-term transformation completely purges generational trauma from your lineage, ensuring future descendants grow up under stable guardianship. Your life stands as a living monument to the power of divine fathering, demonstrating that early abandonment can be fully converted into a deep well of enduring wisdom and absolute protection for the benefit of all your family members everywhere today.

    Concluding Affirmation

The profound journey from an abandoned childhood to a position of genuine fatherhood requires a deliberate reliance on perfect divine structures. When early human support systems collapse entirely, the soul is forced to look toward a higher celestial anchor for survival. By embracing the divine master as your ultimate guide, protector, and provider, you transcend the painful limitations of your history. This sacred connection completely reshapes your character, converting early deficits into a great reservoir of generative strength.

True fatherhood is never a mechanical byproduct of biology, but an active, human-centred choice to embody unyielding protection and reliable care. You do not need an unblemished childhood background to serve as an effective mentor for the vulnerable people within your community. When you align your daily conduct with the perfect blueprint of the celestial Berkutchi, you break the cycle of abandonment. Your life becomes an active agent of grace, providing a safe sanctuary for those navigating confusion.

Let us choose to be a generation that reframes early personal trauma through the liberating lens of divine training and spiritual family restoration. By dedicating your life to the service of others, you ensure that historic wounds are fully healed. Walk confidently forward as a wise guide, a strong protector, and a faithful provider, knowing your celestial father walks beside you always. Your enduring legacy of stability will safely anchor future generations in objective truth and unconditional love.

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆, 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒔𝒕 𝑨𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 Imagine a young child standing in the quiet vacuum of a suddenly empty home, burdened with a massive responsibility that would easily crush most grown adults. The Accelerant of Premature Responsibility The weight of premature responsibility acts as a severe accelerant for psychological and spiritual growth. The Catalyst of Parental Absence The pain of sudden parental absence creates a profound emotional vacancy that can either poison a life or prompt an intense search for transcendent truth. The Metaphor of the Divine Anchor Finding an ultimate divine anchor amidst the ruins of early childhood provides the exact template required to construct an authentic identity. The Generative Power of Transformed Trauma Transforming early personal trauma into generative fatherhood allows you to become a safe harbour for other broken lives. Illustrative Case Study Consider the historical reality of Anthony Ashley Cooper, the Seventh Earl of Shaftesbury, who grew up in nineteenth-century Britain under conditions of profound emotional neglect. Personal Connection and Human Reflection When you examine your own life, you may recognise the familiar sting of unmet emotional needs and parental deficits. Call to Reflection and Personal Application To apply this wisdom practically, you must actively challenge the underlying assumption that your emotional history makes you permanently vulnerable or defective. Seven Actionable Insights 1. Recognise the Structural Impact of Early Parental Deficits You must become fully aware of how early parental absence or childhood responsibility has shaped your current emotional patterns. • EXPLORING THE POWER AND AUTHORITY OF A FATHER

"The Hand That Blesses, Builds; The Hand That Rules, Shapes Destiny"

    LEAD SCRIPTURE
    1 Chronicles 26:10 (KJV)

"Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)"

    INTRODUCTION
One of the most mysterious powers God delegated to humanity is the authority of fatherhood.
From Genesis to Revelation, fathers appear not merely as biological progenitors but as custodians of destiny, distributors of inheritance, architects of family culture, and gatekeepers of generational blessings (Genesis 18:19; Ephesians 6:4; Hebrews 12:7-10).

The story of Simri raises a thought-provoking question: Why would a younger son become chief while older brothers remained under him? Was Hosah partial? Was this favoritism? Or was it a judgment based on character, competence, wisdom, and trustworthiness?

Scripture repeatedly reveals that while God respects order, He also values character above mere seniority (1 Samuel 16:7; Matthew 20:16; Romans 9:12-13).

The painful truth is that many destinies rise or fall under the influence of fathers.

A father's blessing can open gates no man can shut (Genesis 27:27-29), while a father's curse can close doors for generations (Genesis 9:24-27).

THE REALITIES OF PATERNAL POWERS AND AUTHORITY

    1. Fathers Possess The Power To Establish Identity
    Genesis 2:23-24
    Genesis 17:5
    Luke 15:22-24
Abram became Abraham through a fatherly declaration from God. Identity often precedes destiny.

    2. Fathers Can Transfer Blessings
    Genesis 27:27-29
    Genesis 48:13-20
    Hebrews 11:20-21
Isaac's blessing altered Jacob's future. Jacob crossed his hands and elevated Ephraim above Manasseh.

    3. Fathers Can Reposition Destinies
    1 Chronicles 26:10
    Genesis 49:3-4
    1 Chronicles 5:1-2
Reuben lost preeminence. Joseph and Judah inherited portions originally meant for him.

    4. Fathers Can Build Or Destroy Through Words
    Proverbs 18:21
    Genesis 49:1-28
    Numbers 14:28
Words are destiny-carrying vehicles. Jacob's pronouncements followed his sons for generations.

    WISDOM NOTES

    Wisdom Note #1
Being firstborn does not automatically qualify one for leadership. Character sustains what birth order cannot.

    Wisdom Note #2
Promotion is not always favoritism. Sometimes it is the reward of hidden faithfulness.

    Wisdom Note #3
Many people blame "destiny swapping" when the real issue is neglected responsibility.

    Wisdom Note #4
Every father is writing tomorrow's history through today's decisions.

    Wisdom Note #5
A wise father does not merely raise children; he raises successors.

    Wisdom Note #6
The greatest inheritance is not wealth but wisdom, character, and covenant.

    Wisdom Note #7
Before God entrusts authority to a person, He examines the person's ability to manage responsibility.

    FINAL THOUGHTS
The story of Simri reminds us that heaven's promotions are often based on principles deeper than human traditions. Reuben lost what Judah gained. Saul lost what David inherited. Esau despised what Jacob valued. Vashti abandoned what Esther embraced.
    The lesson is sobering:
Never assume your position is secure simply because it was given to you.
Honor, influence, authority, leadership, and opportunities must be stewarded wisely.
A father's authority is one of the strongest earthly forces God created. It can launch destinies into greatness or leave scars across generations.
Therefore, whether you are a father, a spiritual leader, or a future parent, remember:
You are not merely raising children—you are shaping generations.

    PRAYER LINES
Father, grant me the wisdom to steward every responsibility You have entrusted to me!

Every blessing assigned to my destiny, I shall not lose through carelessness, in Jesus' name!

Lord, heal every negative effect of wrong parental decisions operating in my lineage!

Let every generational blessing hidden in my family line locate me by mercy!

Father, raise godly fathers, mentors, and leaders who will shape generations for Your glory!

Every spirit of rejection, demotion, and displacement fighting my purpose, be broken by fire!

Lord, establish me in the place You have ordained for me before the foundations of the world!

🔥 EXPLORING THE POWER AND AUTHORITY OF A FATHER 🔥 "The Hand That Blesses, Builds; The Hand That Rules, Shapes Destiny" LEAD SCRIPTURE 1 Chronicles 26:10 (KJV) "Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him the chief;)" 🔥 INTRODUCTION One of the most mysterious powers God delegated to humanity is the authority of fatherhood. 🔥 THE REALITIES OF PATERNAL POWERS AND AUTHORITY 1. Fathers Possess The Power To Establish Identity Genesis 2:23-24 Genesis 17:5 Luke 15:22-24 Abram became Abraham through a fatherly declaration from God. Identity often precedes destiny. 2. Fathers Can Transfer Blessings Genesis 27:27-29 Genesis 48:13-20 Hebrews 11:20-21 Isaac's blessing altered Jacob's future. Jacob crossed his hands and elevated Ephraim above Manasseh. 3. Fathers Can Reposition Destinies 1 Chronicles 26:10 Genesis 49:3-4 1 Chronicles 5:1-2 Reuben lost preeminence. Joseph and Judah inherited portions originally meant for him. 4. Fathers Can Build Or Destroy Through Words Proverbs 18:21 Genesis 49:1-28 Numbers 14:28 Words are destiny-carrying vehicles. Jacob's pronouncements followed his sons for generations. 5. Fathers Can Open Doors Of Inheritance Luke 15:11-32 Galatians 4:1-2 Deuteronomy 21:15-17 Inheritance is not merely property; it includes influence, opportunities, and legacy. 6. • ONE CHAPTER DAILY
    Today’s Reading: Hebrews 12 (Verses 1–29)
    Theme of the Day
"Run Your Race: Looking to Jesus & Standing Unshaken"
    Key Takeaways to Meditate On
The Great Cloud of Witnesses (Verses 1–3): We are not running this spiritual race alone. Surrounded by the heroes of faith who went before us, we are commanded to strip off every heavy weight and the sin that so easily trips us up. We must run with endurance, keeping our eyes fixed entirely on Jesus—the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
The Blessing of Fatherly Discipline (Verses 4–11): Do not be discouraged when you face hardships; God uses them to train you. Just as a loving earthly father disciplines his children, God disciplines those He loves for our own good, so that we may share in His holiness. It may painful at the time, but it later produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.
A Warning Against Bitter Roots (Verses 12–17): Strengthen your tired hands and weak knees! Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy. Guard your heart carefully so that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to cause trouble and corrupt many, like it did for Esau, who traded his eternal birthright for a single meal.
An Unshakable Kingdom (Verses 18–29): We have not come to a terrifying, physical mountain wrapped in smoke and fire (like Mount Sinai). Instead, we have come to Mount Zion—the heavenly Jerusalem—and to Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant. Since everything temporary in this world will ultimately be shaken and removed, we must be filled with gratitude because we are receiving a Kingdom that can never be shaken!
️ Memory Verse of the Day
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."
    — Hebrews 12:1–2 (NIV)
    Today's Action Step
Is there a non-sinful "weight" (anxiety, an unhealthy distraction, a bad habit, or a toxic relationship) that is slowing down your spiritual pace? Make a conscious decision to throw it off today so you can run your race freely.
    Reflection Question
When you face trials, do you tend to view them as a sign of God's anger, or can you see them as a sign of His loving discipline training you for a greater purpose?

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    WEDNESDAY 27TH MAY, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    RESPONSE TO GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    OBEYING GOD'S COMMANDS.

    *TEXT:*
    1 SAMUEL 15:22-23.
22 But Samuel declared: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obedience to His voice? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams.
    Pro 4:17 Hos 6:6 Mat 9:13 Mat 12:7 [Pro 21:3] [Mat 23:23] [Luk 11:42]
23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance is like the wickedness of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”
    [Hos 13:11]

    *TOPIC:*
    OBEYING GOD'S COMMANDS.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
God commanded King Saul to destroy everything that belonged to the Amalekites, but he did not obey. His excuse for sparing Agag and some animals was not acceptable to God. Today's text makes it clear that religious ceremonies, rituals, or activities are empty unless they are performed with an attitude of love and reverence. Disobedience to God's commands is likened to witchcraft and idol worship. These are grave sins that attract the death penalty. Disobedience to God is rampant among Christians today. Religiosity has taken over spirituality and total submission to God's instructions. The good singer, instrumentalist, or preacher may be guilty of sexual immorality or idolatry, which God forbids. Remember, Saul disobeyed God; he was rejected, and his kingdom was taken away from him. Do not be like him.

    *REFLECTION:*
    Disobedience attracts God's punishment.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to always obey Your commands. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    JOB 28-30.

Therefore, be ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

    Godly Instruction

It is through God’s word that the Creator of the universe communicates to us. It is through the Word of God that the Saviour of our soul speaks to His own. The need for readiness and preparedness is a Bible theme that frequently surfaces, and the many instructions to be ready and prepared are given to saved believers.

    Wise Preparation

Noah heeded the word of the Lord and made ready an ark of salvation for his family. Israel were ready to move camp in the wilderness, as soon as God’s pillars appeared. The prudence of wise preparation is a repeated warning in the book of Proverbs. Peter reminds of the necessity to be prepared to give an answer for what we believe. John encourages us to abide in Christ so we will be spiritually ready to meet Him, and Christ’s warning of the 10 virgins rings loud and clear- to His own followers: be ready, be prepared – your Lord comes at a time you think not.

    Armour of Light

Paul warns us to cast off the works of darkness put on the armour of light, for he knows the night is far gone and the day is at hand for the Lord’s return, The need to be ready and prepared is a theme that frequently surfaces in Scripture. The time for readiness and preparedness is not a future issue, but necessary now!

    Accepted Time

Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation 2Cor.6:2. Now is time to be ready – not in 20 years, 20 months; 20 days or 20 hours… So why is it important to be ready and prepared and watchful? What is the reason for this oft-repeated exhortation in the pages of scripture? Why is this warning to be ready given to believers in so many places?

    Spiritual Readiness

Being unprepared does NOT mean that a believer loses eternal life – that’s finished. The work on the cross was a ‘done deal’ forever, when you were washed in His blood. God would deny His very essence were He to change His mind on that aspect. No, the problem of unpreparedness in a believer – it is a lack of spiritual reserves.

    Danger of Unpreparedness

Lack of spiritual readiness can hit doctrinally sound saints and godliest of men alike. Lack of spiritual preparedness can creep up on the most ardent believer. Lives thrown into confusion by this or that – is a result 0f being unprepared, Ill-prepared believers can be torn apart by grief, loss; need or calamity.

    Careless Unpreparedness

But this is not the only sphere of life that can catch a Christian unaware. Lives that are comfortable, clean and plodding carelessly along may be unprepared. Lives that have left their first love or lost their focus on Christ will not be ready. Lives that enjoy a surfeit of worldliness are lives that fall foul of Satan’s ploys. Lives that give up on patient endurance have left the Spirit’s training program. Lives that treat other believers carelessly may be in danger of not being ready. Lives that have removed their eyes from the goal of their calling will not be ready.

    Lack of Reserves

These are believers that have no reserves and they are the ones that are ‘foolish’ These believers are born of God, saved by His blood – but just not ready. These are the ones in Whom the Holy Spirit resides – but are not prepared. These may be deeply involved in the interests of Christ’s work and yet be unprepared.

    Bible Theme

It is through God’s word that the Creator of the universe communicates to us. It is through the Word of God that the Saviour of our soul speaks to His own. The need for readiness and preparedness is a Bible theme that frequently surfaces, and many instructions to be ready and prepared are given to saved believers.

    Being Ready

The warning to be ready should rejoice our hearts and be an encouragement, for God has outlined in His Word all we need to ensure we are ready and prepared – and loving Jesus and trusting His word is the most important step in being ready.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content. ⏤ Philippians 4:11

Prayer is not so much an act as it is an attitude—an attitude of dependency, dependency upon God. ⏤ Arthur Pink

Almighty God, who has ordered our lives and appointed the place where we live—grant us the grace to accept cheerfully and to occupy contentedly the station in life that You, in Your providence, have assigned to us. Help us to see its sacredness because it is Your fatherly choice for us and Your gift to us.

Surely, the place You have prepared for us, and where You have set us, must be the best place for us—the place where we can best grow as Christians, where the atmosphere is most healthy for us, and where the experiences are best suited to develop our character. It must also be the place where we can do the best service for You. Help us to accept it with confidence and to live in it without discontent.

Sometimes we are tempted to complain. We think others are more favored, have easier lives, less care and toil, and more ease and comfort. We imagine that if we could trade places with others, we could live more sweetly and make more of our lives.

Forgive us for this sin of discontentment with our place in life. You know what is best for us. You know where we can be of the most use to You and others, where the work is that You have for us to do.

So, we earnestly pray, our Father, for the spirit of cheerful acceptance of Your plan and Your way for us. Help us to accept Your guidance and to do the things that come to us day by day from Your hand. Then, at the end, we can rejoice in the blessing of those who have done Your will and served our generation. We ask all this through Jesus Christ. Amen.

    Matthew 24:44

Amen.
