  • St. Cajetan

St. Cajetan was born on October 1, 1480 and his baptismal name was Gaetano dei Contidi Tiene. He studied law in Padua and got a degree on civil and cannon law at age 24 years. He was working as a diplomat in the Venetian Republic for Pope Julius-II. He was ordained as a priest during the year 1516. He founded a congregation named “The Oratory of Divine Love”. The Bishop of Chieti diocese, Giovanni Pietro Carafa was the first superior of this Oratory, who later became Pope Pius-IV. The members of the Oratory are also called as “theatines” in the name of the city of Chieti, which is called as “Theate” in Latin. In the year 1533 he founded a house in Naples to fight against Lutheranism and to check its spreading. When he fell ill, he slept on a wooden board. When the doctors told him to take rest on a comfortable bed, he refused and said that his savior died on a cross and at least let him die on wood. He died on August 7, 1547.

He was beatified by Pope Urban-VIII on October 8, 1629 and also canonized on April 12, 1671. He is the patron saint of workers, job seekers and un-employed people.

  • Daily Devotion — July 11 | Acts 9:5 (NKJV)

    A Life-Changing Encounter

Saul was traveling to persecute Christians when Jesus confronted him on the road to Damascus. In a single moment, his life changed forever.

This encounter demonstrates that no one is beyond God's reach. Saul, once an enemy of the church, became one of its greatest missionaries because of God's transforming grace.

Jesus continues to call people to Himself today. He meets individuals in their brokenness, redirects their paths, and offers new life.

When we respond to Christ in faith, He begins a work of transformation that shapes every area of our lives.

    Reflection Questions

    1. How has Jesus transformed my life

    2. Is there an area where I need to surrender to Him

    3. Do I believe God can change any heart

    Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your transforming grace. Help me follow You wholeheartedly and trust Your work in my life and in the lives of others. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    ● Reflect on your testimony of faith

    ● Pray for someone who needs Christ

    ● Surrender one area of life fully to God

    Takeaway Thought

Jesus has the power to completely transform a life.
