• TUESDAY MORNING PRAYER FOR OUR FAMILY!

“As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15 (KJV)

    Heavenly Father,
we come before You this Tuesday morning with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of another day. Thank You for watching over our family through the night, for waking us up this morning, and for giving us another opportunity to experience Your grace, mercy, and love.
Your Word declares, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). So regardless of what yesterday looked like or what today may bring, we choose to rejoice because You are still God, You are still faithful, and our family is still in Your hands.
Lord, we place every member of our family before You today—the young and the old, parents and children, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and loved ones near and far. Cover every household connected to our family.
Father, go before us today. Your Word says, “The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” (Psalm 121:8). Protect those traveling to work, school, appointments, and wherever this day may take them. Surround our vehicles, homes, workplaces, schools, and communities with Your protection.
Lord, strengthen every family member who is tired, discouraged, overwhelmed, worried, or carrying burdens they have not told anyone about. Remind them that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Give strength to the weary, peace to the troubled, and hope to those who feel like giving up.
Father, we lift up every family member dealing with sickness, pain, disease, medical concerns, procedures, treatments, or recovery. You declared, “I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26). Touch bodies from the crowns of their heads to the soles of their feet. Give wisdom to doctors, nurses, caregivers, and medical professionals. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is weakness, bring strength. Where there is uncertainty, bring peace. We stand on Your Word: “With his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
Lord, touch the minds of our family members. Break the grip of fear, anxiety, depression, confusion, stress, and constant worry. Your Word tells us, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). Let “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding” (Philippians 4:7) guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Father, we pray for anyone in our family struggling with addiction, alcohol, drugs, destructive habits, or anything that has taken control of their life. Break every chain and destroy every stronghold. Your Word declares, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Lord, set them free and restore what addiction has tried to steal.
We pray for our marriages and relationships. Strengthen husbands and wives. Restore communication, trust, affection, patience, forgiveness, and commitment. Guard marriages against temptation, infidelity, division, bitterness, and outside interference. Let every home remember, “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Mark 10:9).
Bless our children, grandchildren, and young people. Protect their minds, their bodies, their futures, their friendships, and their decisions. Keep them from dangerous influences and wrong relationships. Your Word says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Draw our young people closer to You and give them courage to stand for righteousness.
Father, we pray for every family member facing financial difficulties, unemployment, underemployment, debt, or uncertainty concerning their future. Open doors that no one can shut. Provide jobs, promotions, raises, opportunities, resources, and financial wisdom. Teach us to be good stewards of everything You place into our hands. We trust Your promise: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
Lord, bring unity into our family. Heal old wounds. Remove grudges, jealousy, unforgiveness, misunderstandings, gossip, and division. Give us the humility to apologize when we are wrong and the grace to forgive when we have been hurt. Your Word says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).
Comfort every family member who is grieving or missing someone they love. When memories bring tears, wrap Your loving arms around them. Remind them that “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart” (Psalm 34:18). Give them strength for the difficult moments and peace when the emptiness feels overwhelming.
Father, we pray especially for those who are caregivers. Strengthen those caring for aging parents, sick spouses, children, relatives, and loved ones. When they become physically and emotionally exhausted, renew their strength. Your Word declares, “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). Give caregivers patience, wisdom, rest, compassion, and help when they need it.
Lord, protect our family from attacks we can see and attacks we cannot see. We declare, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17). Cancel every plan designed to bring destruction, confusion, division, or discouragement into our homes.
And Father, above everything else, draw our entire family closer to Jesus. For those who know You, strengthen their relationship with You. For those who have wandered away, bring them home. For those who have never surrendered their lives to Christ, soften their hearts and save them. We declare over our household, “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).
As we step into this Tuesday, help us walk by faith and not by sight. Help us speak life instead of death, encouragement instead of criticism, faith instead of fear, and love instead of anger.
We declare that our family is covered.
    Our family is protected.
    Our family is being healed.
    Our family is being restored.
    Our family is being strengthened.
Our family is being provided for.
Our family is walking in unity.
    Our children are covered.
    Our marriages are covered.
    Our homes are covered.
And our future is in God's hands!
For Your Word declares, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. Thank You for what You have already done, what You are doing right now, and what You are preparing to do in our family.
We give You all the glory, honor, and praise.
In the mighty, matchless, powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen, Amen, and Amen!

  • Life Of Charles G. Finney.
    By
    Aaron Merritt Hills

    Part 1 - B

    SENT OF GOD

Charles Finney found the old authors in his law books frequently quoting from the Scriptures. This excited his curiosity so much that he purchased a Bible, the first that he had ever owned, and hunted up every passage referred to. This led to careful reading and much meditation upon the Sacred Word. Here follow two facts that are profoundly important to all Churches and Christians, and especially to all who would ever be successful soul-winners. His pastor's name was Rev. George W. Gale, a graduate of Princeton College and Theological Seminary. His theology was hyper-Calvinistic and not yhe genui e Calvinism taught in Princeton at that time. Gale believed that man’s nature was so totally sinful that he was utterly incapable of any good; the will was incapable of a right choice; the soul was utterly passive in regeneration; ''there was no adaptation in the gospel to change his nature, and consequently no connection in religion between means and ends.”

"This Brother Gale sternly held; and consequently, in his preaching, he never seemed to expect, nor did he even aim at converting anybody by any sermon that I ever heard him preach. And yet he was an able preacher, as preaching was then estimated. The fact is, these dogmas were a perfect strait-jacket to him. If he preached repentance, he must be sure, before he sat down, to leave the impression on his people that they could not repent. If he called them to believe, he must be sure to inform them that, until their nature was changed by the Holy Spirit, faith was impossible to them. And so his orthodoxy was a perfect snare to himself and to his hearers." (Memoirs of C. G. Finney, pp. 59, 60.)

The pastor was in the habit of dropping into the
young lawyer’s office to see what impression his sermons had made on the lawyer’s mind. Finney was at this time leader of his choir, and of course their relations were familiar. With the keen, subtle, intellectual acumen which characterized him and a frankness bordering on to impolite bluntness, and probably with a touch of cynical irreverence, the lawyer satisfied the minister’s curiosity completely; for fifty years afterward he wrote: 'I now think that I criticised his sermons unmercifully. . . . Indeed, I found it impossible to attach any meaning to the terms which he used with great formality and frequency. What did he mean by repentance? Was it a mere feeling of sorrow for sin? Was it altogether a passive state of mind, or did it involve a voluntary element? If it was a change of mind, in what sense was it a change of mind? What did he mean by the term 'regeneration?’

What did such language mean when applied to a spiritual change? What did he mean by faith? Was it merely an intellectual state? Was it merely a conviction or persuasion that the things stated in the gospel were true? What did he mean by sanctification? Did it involve any physical change in the subject, or any physical influence on the part of God? I could not tell; neither did he seem to know himself. I sometimes told him that he seemed to begin in the middle of his discourse, and to assume many things which, to my mind, needed to be proved. I must say, I was rather perplexed than edified by his preaching.”
    (Memoirs, pp. 7, 8.)

As one reads such words, one can not help wondering how many ministers now are as vague and misty as was Rev. Gale, and how many multitudes are still sitting in the pews and wondering what the ministers are talking about. Neither can one help reflecting that, with such a theology prevailing, it is little wonder that infidelity was widespread at the beginning of the century, and revivals were few, with seldom a conversion, and that only one in fourteen of the population of this country was even a professor of religion!

Everybody was told that they were absolutely helpless, and could do nothing to secure their own repentance or conversion; and they generally believed it. With one accord they were idly waiting, in imaginary helplessness, for a sovereign God to enable them to repent and believe; and thus whole generations were sweeping into hell. What appalling results can flow from a false theology!

The other striking fact was this: Finney read a great deal in his Bible about prayer and answers to
prayer and prayer promises; and yet he continually heard people pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and as often confess that they did not receive what they asked for. He heard them exhort each other to wake up and be engaged and pray earnestly for a revival of religion, professing that, if they were in earnest, they would have a revival, and the impenitent would be converted; but they would as continually bemoan their coldness and complain that they were making no progress. He says : '"This inconsistency, the fact that they prayed so much and were not answered, was a sad stumbling-block to me.'' ‘'On one occasion, when I was in one of the prayer-meetings, I was asked if I did not desire that they should pray for me. I told them, ‘No,' because I did not see that God answered their prayers. I said: ‘I suppose that I need to be prayed for—for I am conscious that I am a sinner—but I do not see that it will do any good for you to pray for me; for you are continually asking, but do not receive. You have been praying for a revival of religion ever since I have been in Adams [three years], and yet you have it not. You have prayed enough since I have attended these meetings to have prayed the devil out of Adams, if there is any virtue in your prayers. But here you are, praying on and complaining still.' " (Memoirs, p. 10.)

Some young people proposed to pray for Finney, among them the noble young woman who afterward became his wife. But the hopeless pastor remarked that it would do no good; he did not believe that Finney would ever be converted, since he had already sinned against so much light that his heart was hopelessly hardened! And what was the more, the choir was so much under Finney's influence that it was doubtful if they would ever be converted while their leader remained in Adams.

Fortunately for the kingdom of God, some one had more faith than the pastor, and laid hold of God for Finney’s conversion. To use his own words, he became 'Very restless.” A little reflection showed him that he was by no means in a state of mind to go to heaven, if he should die. He began to feel that there was something in religion of infinite importance, and that, if the soul was immortal, he needed a great change to be prepared for happiness in heaven. The great soul was approaching his Bethel: he was standing face to face with God, and confronting the decisive question whether he would accept Christ as presented in the gospel, or pursue a worldly course of life. Prayers were being answered at last; for God had his hook in Finney’s jaw, and was pulling with the mighty cord of Infinite Love.

  • EVIDENCE OF OCCULT OPPRESSION AND SUBJECTION. Part 2 of 3.
    2. Psychoneuroses indicative of occult oppression and subjection. Continued.
Such neurotics are often overly conscious of their health and welfare, being alarmed at the slightest symptom and will generally contact their physician on the slightest pretext. Attending to themselves is their only real interest, and they expect others to follow suit. Their affliction provides them with an excuse for failing to meet their obligations or to attain their level of aspiration in business, marriage, religion, or life in general. Their life is characterized as "just one great bundle of problems and anxieties" as they journey from one person to another-doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, minister, parents, friends or strangers alike-seeking, always seeking, attention, reassurance, advice, or help.

Those who are oppressed or possessed with these spirits of self-pity, self-centeredness, and self-love (narcissism) are very difficult to bring to a point of liberation, due to the nature of the spirit causing this condition. The victims fear that admission of the real nature of their neurotic condition and deliverance from it will cause them to lose the attention and pity they feel they require to survive. These spirits, unlike many other types, have such a firm hold on their victims, and are so closely identified with their personalities, that these individuals willingly accept such an abnormal disposition as their own. Even after liberation, such persons usually require prayer support, and firm, but loving admonishment to practice standing alone, to face their responsibilities on their own, and to discipline themselves to regular periods of Bible study and prayer in order to develop a strong life of faith. A daily, biblical confession of what they have and are in Christ is necessary, together with a firm, steadfast resistance to the temptation to fall back into their previous bondage and dependence upon others.

Compulsive thoughts and behavior, as well as certain phobias and obsessions, are often present in such individuals. Compulsive lying, deception, infidelity, arson, or cleptomania (an irresistible desire to steal, not motivated by personal need) are some of the compulsive abnormalities. Others are obsessed with peculiar and strange ideas. One may, for example, be obsessed with the idea that he will contract some disease such as cancer or tuberculosis; another believes that he will die prematurely from the same organic trouble that seems "to run in the family," from which some of his relations have already died. Others become obsessed with the idea that they have committed the "unpardonable sin," or that they have failed God, their families, or their employers, thus living a tormented life of self-condemnation.

Those who are obsessed are ruled by some idea or thought (which often has no basis in fact) which finally becomes the dominant factor in their lives. Individuals may be obsessed with self-torturing jealousy, or the notion that someone is always watching or following them (the individual's eyes dart furtively here and there constantly), or as the housewife who imagines that her friends and neighbors are always talking about her.

Compulsions may be in the form of phobias, such as a fear of germs. This is seen in the neurotic behavior of the woman who felt compelled to disinfect all the doorknobs in her home daily, never touching one anywhere without wearing gloves to avoid contamination. Some persons are obsessed with a spirit of self-importance, suspicion, covetousness, or pride. Other compulsives cannot keep from repeating the same actions over and over, such as recounting the money which they have just counted because they feel they made a mistake the first time, or washing one's hands over and over, retracing one's steps, or repeating instructions again and again. Such compulsions and obsessions often indicate the presence and work of demonic spirits, who mercilessly vex and delude their victims.

In summary, the most common mental and emotional disturbances and abnormalities resulting from occult involvement are: mental illness; serious depression; anxieties and fear; thoughts of self-destruction; compulsive thoughts and behavior; obsessions; emotional instability and self-pity; profound feelings of inadequacy and failure; and enslavement to certain excessive appetites, passions, and habits.

    B. Psychic Disturbances and Abnormalities.
This category consists of those forms of subjection and oppression that pertain particularly to the extrasensory functions of the mind or psyche (spirit).

    1. Occult subjection.
Those who have had occult involvement of any kind, or whose family background contains occult connections, frequently become "psychic" themselves and discover that they have certain extrasensory abilities, psychic sensitivity, or intellectual powers and knowledge at times beyond their normal capacity. These so-called psychic "gifts" result from occult connections, and are under the control and influence of the powers of darkness. They should be repudiated immediately, without reservation, for the simple reason that they are under the condemnation of God.

The following characteristics indicate occult subjection and will ultimately issue in mental, spiritual, and/or physical deterioration and damage, unless one is liberated from their enslaving power by Christ. One may, of course, possess psychic or ESP powers to a greater or lesser degree than described here. And, while the characteristics which follow include the psychic powers and practices of such occult professionals or practitioners as fortune tellers, astrologers, spiritualist mediums and hypnotists, we apply them to anyone who has been involved in the occult in any way."

    (1) Clairvoyance.
This term describes the psychic ability of some subjected individuals to see objects or events spontaneously and super normally (beyond the natural range of vision). It is the awareness or knowledge of what is taking place elsewhere. This so-called gift of "second sight" is a satanic counterfeit of the Biblical prophetic gift of the "seer," and the gift of the "word of knowledge" (I Corinthians 12). It enables the person to see things relating to the past, present, and sometimes the future (precognition). Clairaudience, the supernormal ability to hear voices and sounds not within the reach of the normal senses, may also be present in such individuals. Clairvoyant persons often have premonitions of death or misfortune concerning others before the event occurs. They hear spirit voices, or the alleged voice of a departed loved one or friend giving advice, warning, or assurance of some kind. Often they discern such things as the substance of a letter before opening it, or know who is calling before answering a ringing telephone; and they may be subject to dreams and visions of a psychic or bizarre nature.

'Psychic "gifts" and powers resulting from occult involvement are not to be confused with genuine gifts of the Holy Spirit, authentic visions, and other divine, supernatural phenomena, which do have a vital place in the life of the believer and the church (e.g., Mark 16:17-18; 1 Corinthians 12; Acts 1:16-26).

    (2) Precognition.
The power of precognition enables occultly subjected persons to have knowledge of, or to see, future events before they occur. Some who have become "psychic" through occult associations have a very pronounced ability to sense or foresee a future event. They often experience mysterious premonitions of impending events. For example, Jeane Dixon predicted President Kennedy's assassination; and Edgar Cayce predicted World Wars I and II, and the years they would begin and end, as well as the universal Depression of 1929. Many people have precognitive experiences, such as premonitions, visions, dreams, or mental "flashes." As a result of becoming psychically "sensitive" through their occult involvement, they can see, hear, or sense events which are yet future.

    (3) Telepathy.
Persons who are psychic often exhibit the power to transfer thoughts from one mind to another, either by thought-sending or mind-reading. This is usually what people think of first when "ESP" is mentioned. After some form of occult participation, individuals may discover that they seem to know what another person is thinking; later on, they find out they were right. The ability to "tune in" on another's thoughts and read his mind is well attested to by many parapsychologists, and by such organizations as the American Society for Psychical Research.

Thus, when one dabbles in occultism, or seeks to heighten his so-called ESP powers through the practice of telepathy, he may find mental images, strong feelings, emotions, and thoughts from the minds of others floating into his own consciousness. Often he is not aware of what is taking place and interprets these impressions as mere coincidence.

But what may seem at first to be an interesting psychic phenomenon can quickly become a mental burden. If one is psychically sensitive in this way, he will be constantly subject to the infiltration of disturbing mental images and thoughts, from both the powers of darkness and the minds of others. Often he will experience the same problems and disturbances as the one to whom he is telepathically attuned.

Another dangerous possibility is that of becoming "psychically dependent" upon another through the practice of telepathy, hypnotism, or remote influence. "Remote (or unconscious) influence" is a form of telepathy, advocated by some, which attempts to influence the subconscious mind of one who is asleep or unconscious. For example, one may try to implant positive thoughts of love into the subconscious mind of a person who has grown cold or indifferent; one may try to implant corrective ideas into the subconscious mind of a person who might be offended or unreceptive if such advice were given openly; or one may try using suggestion to heal the one who is asleep.

However, the psychic dangers in such attempts to control and influence the thoughts and behavior of others are clear. The very same telepathic powers can and have been used for evil purposes. Those skilled in ESP are well aware of their power to influence others in this way, causing them to think or do as they wish.

No finite human being has the right, whatever his alleged motive, to invade the privacy of the subconscious mind of another individual without his consent! God alone has this prerogative and there is no Biblical basis whatever for this practice by Christians. Aside from the obvious dangers involved and the unauthorized intrusion into the mind of another without his permission, this is clearly an attempt to circumvent the Biblical method of solving one's problems; namely, the prayer of faith.

Evidently these individuals do not realize that, in their attempts to influence the subconscious minds of others by speaking to them while they are asleep, they are intruding upon the prerogatives of God. They may also unwittingly be establishing telepathic connections with their minds which may later have adverse effect. This is an occult practice, condemned in Scripture as charming and enchantment (Deuteronomy 18:10-11). It is little more than "mesmerism" of the subconscious, and should be repudiated by the Christian without hesitation as an abomination to God. Those who teach and practice remote influence, or who advocate its use by other Christians, should consider its insidious nature and its disharmony with Scripture, and should cease and repent of this occult activity.

    (4) Divination.
This is the most common form of occultism. It refers to the ancient black art of fortunetelling, whether by the crystal ball, palm reading, cards, pendulum, ouija board, planchette, glass tumbler movement, tea leaves, handwriting analysis (graphology), horoscope, or any of the many other forms of divination. Fortune Telling differs from clairvoyance in that the clairvoyant sees or knows things spontaneously, while the fortuneteller divines by use of certain occult objects, such as cards, tea leaves, ouija board, crystal ball, etc ., or practices soothsaying by interpreting signs, omens, dreams, or other phenomena.

Millions of victims are drawn into the abominable web of occultism either by visits to fortune tellers or by participation in some form of occult practice, whether consciously, or unconsciously: playing with a ouija board, ESP, telepathy, using fortune telling cards, and so on. It must be emphasized that those who have participated in these forms of occult practice, even though it was done "in fun," have opened themselves to the same occult oppression and subjection as those who are seriously involved. The same dark powers exercise influence and control over all forms of occultism. A loaded revolver is as dangerous when one is playing a "game" of Russian roulette as it is in the hands of one attempting to commit suicide.

Persons who have experienced occult oppression or subjection warn of the dangers of fooling around with the psychic and occult, including ESP, telepathy, ouija boards, automatic writing, and table-tipping. Innocent or not, those who do so are inviting invisible (demonic) "playmates" to participate in the game or practice, and are in for a rude awakening psychically and spiritually, often with serious, permanent consequences.

    (5) Psychometry.
This is the psychic ability to determine the facts about an object's owner from contact with the object. For example, simply by touching a missing person's picture, or some personal object belonging to him, a "sensitive" individual can give the particulars of the person, their present whereabouts, and whether the person is living or dead. Other psychometrics can diagnose diseases and other ailments by handling an object belonging to the afflicted person, by touching the patient's body, or by use of the pendulum. A certain pastor’s files contain testimonies of those who suffered oppression as a result of contact with such psychic healers. Deliverance from the powers of darkness was necessary.

    (6) Radiesthesia.
Divining for such things as water, oil, and minerals, using a dowsing rod or pendulum, is an ancient occult practice known the world over, having its roots in heathenism. It is condemned in the Scriptures (Hosea 4:12; Deuteronomy 18:10) as inspired and controlled by "the spirit of fornication" (an unclean spirit). Martin Luther charged, and rightly so, that the practice violated the First Commandment.

One survey on water dowsing (or "water witching," as it is often called) stated there were an estimated 25,000 water dowsers in the United States alone. The actual number of nonprofessional dowsers is much higher. It is practiced by water engineers to locate water pipes, by plumbers to determine sewer lines, by well drillers to find water sources, by mining engineers to locate minerals or oil, and was used by the Marines in Vietnam to locate mines, tunnels, and booby-traps along jungle trails. Practical instruction in the use of the dowsing rod is available as part of military training at Camp Pendleton, California. Thousands of officers and enlisted men have been subjected to these dark powers (although participation is voluntary), and only time will tell the terrible psychic effect upon these men as a result of their occult involvement.

Dowsing for water is commonly done with a forked stick, such as a hazel or willow twig. Some dowsers use coat-hangers, wires, keys on a chain hanging from a Bible, or brass welding rods. Some also succeed using the pendulum (a small ball or pear shaped object, or a needle, key, or ring, etc ., hanging from a string or chain). The dowsing rod (or pendulum) is used to divine for gold, silver, oil, water, minerals, buried treasure, missing persons, and many other things. As the divining instrument is held over a map of the area in question, it reacts in a certain manner at the correct location. Of course, divining instruments are also used at the geographical sites themselves, in the general area where water, minerals, missing objects or persons, and oil are believed to be.

Radiesthesia (the use of a dowsing rod or pendulum) is frequently used in the diagnosis of illness and disease, to determine the sex of an unborn baby, to prescribe medicines, to aid in crime detection, and in any of the ways in which psychometry (above) may be used. Frequently, those who practice dowsing or who use the pendulum give evidence of psychic disturbances and other signs of occult subjection or oppression.

    (7) Magic practices.
One subjected by occultism is often involved in magical practices such as hypnosis, mental suggestion, remote influence of others, magic charming, conjuring, healing animals and humans, casting spells, concocting and using magical remedies and cures, and countless other magical and superstitious practices. The source is the same whether one practices so-called "white" magic (invoking hidden powers for "good" ends), or "black" magic (invoking spirits for destructive or evil purposes).

"This proves beyond question that dowsing has nothing to do with so-called "magnetic" forces attracting the rods as some allege, since it is also effective when used over a map of the site. The source of its power is demonic.

It is incredible to think that, in this modern scientific age, millions are involved, or have been involved, in some way with ancient magic practices and rites, from the charming of warts and burns to the use of spells, magic herbs, and hex signs on houses and barns (which are still seen in some areas). Magic practices and beliefs are not limited to rural folk, who are often naturally superstitious, but are found in urban areas and large cities. These practices are not merely harmless superstitions, as time and again the adverse psychic, mental, spiritual, and physical effects are seen in the lives of the countless people involved. Simply stated, magic is man's sinful attempt to break through the bounds set by God and His Providence, as well as to overcome human resistance, for one's own selfish purposes.

One of the most subtle and potentially dangerous forms of magical practice is hypnosis, an ancient occult method of influence or control of the mind and actions of others. Largely through the efforts of the Viennese physician, Mesmer, and as a result of its adoption by psychiatrists, dentists, doctors, and psychologists, hypnotism has lost much of its distasteful association with witchcraft and the vaudeville stage, and has now acquired a cloak of respectability. The ancient "charmer" and "enchanter" (Deuteronomy 18:10-11) now, as often as not, has a Ph.D. degree!

Advocates often try to justify this ancient form of witchcraft by arguing that (1) hypnotherapy has many beneficial medical uses, and (2) the hypnotist cannot compel his subject to commit any criminal action or morally wrong act which the subjected individual would not do when awake. Both of these arguments are invalid.

In the first place, when hypnotism is used to treat many psychological, mental, moral, and emotional problems, its benefits are seldom permanent. For example, one under hypnosis may be told that he has been released from his deep-seated fears, or doubts, or the problem of alcoholism; but the effect of such suggestions seldom lasts, and must be repeated in time. The reason is that the cause of such conditions has not been removed. Only the effect has been treated.

Professional hypnotists and hypnotherapists admit that attempting to relieve symptoms through hypnosis is dangerous, if treatment focuses merely on symptoms and does not deal with the underlying causes. One doctor cites the case in which a patient, through hypnosis, was stopped from chain smoking, but became a compulsive eater as a result. She was then cured of her overeating, only to become an alcoholic!

Such examples are by no means the exception. They weaken the naive idea held by many that hypnotherapy is a magic "cure-all" which, in the hands of the medical technician or psychiatrist, can solve all our mental, emotional, social, and psychological problems. In fact, by removing the symptom without curing the cause, the hypnotherapist may weaken the subject's defenses against inner turmoil's and problems. Edited. Shared.

❤️EVIDENCE OF OCCULT OPPRESSION AND SUBJECTION. And, while the characteristics which follow include the psychic powers and practices of such occult professionals or practitioners as fortune tellers, astrologers, spiritualist mediums and hypnotists, we apply them to anyone who has been involved in the occult in any way." (1) Clairvoyance. • A WAKE UP CALL TO A TIME SUCH AS THIS

    The earth is shaking.
    Volcanoes are erupting.
    Storms are intensifying.
    Nations are raging.
    Governments are in conflict.
    Economies are uncertain.
    Truth is being challenged.
    Morality is being redefined.
    Marriages are breaking.
    Families are deteriorating.
    Hearts are growing colder.
People are searching for answers in a world that feels increasingly unstable.

God is shaking things to expose what is temporary, what doesn't last, to reveal that which is eternal, that which what matters most - God, His Word and the souls of men.

Men and women of God. Have done with lesser things.

Pray. Fight our battles on our knees.

Let us repent of our ways that are displeasing and dishonoring to our God. Walk in His forgiveness and on the path of righteousness.

Put God first. Nurture and safeguard your marriage. If not, infidelity will destroy it.

Raise your children in the way of the Lord. Do not just hand them an electronic device. Spend time with them. They are not interruptions they are assignments from the Lord. Remember, children spell love as T-I-M-E.

Church, the gospel of Jesus Christ is still the power of God unto salvation for those who believe in Him. Do not be ashamed of it. Proclaim it. Speak of it. Many are just waiting to be told.

Know this: Global powers come and go, kingdoms rise and fall, but God's kingdom remains forever.

All the shaking we see right now isn't to paralyze us in fear - it’s a wake up call!

Let's make sure we aren't building our lives on things that can be stolen, fade away, and burn, but on the One who is from everlasting to everlasting - Jesus Christ, the soon and coming King!

- From a Pastor's Desk.

Here is the text of Proverbs 5:21, followed by a breakdown of its meaning and context.

    Verse;
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.
    - Proverbs 5:21 (KJV)

    Insights;
This verse serves as a powerful reminder of God's complete omniscience (all-knowing nature) and omnipresence (being everywhere at once).

"Before the eyes of the Lord":
There is no such thing as secret behavior in the biblical worldview. Humans often go to great lengths to hide their actions from family, friends, or society, but this clause states that everything is entirely transparent to God.

    "He pondereth all his goings":
The word pondereth (from the Hebrew palas) means to weigh, level, or examine closely. God isn't just passively watching like a distant spectator; He is actively evaluating, measuring, and weighing the motives and directions of a person's life paths ("goings").

    Context;
While this verse is a universal truth applied throughout scripture, its placement at the end of Proverbs 5 gives it a specific edge.

The entirety of Chapter 5 is a father’s warning to his son against the dangers of infidelity and the "strange woman." The father describes how temptation promises sweetness but ends in bitterness, ruin, and regret. Right before verse 21, the writer asks why a man would be infatuated with an adulteress and embrace the bosom of a stranger.

Verse 21 drops in as the ultimate reality check: Even if you think you can hide an affair or a moral failure from the world, God sees it all. It shifts the motivation for pure living from a fear of getting caught by people to a healthy, reverent fear of a holy God who examines the heart.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY SUNDAY JULY 5, 2026.
    "FORGIVE FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!"

‘…Forgive as the Lord forgave you.’  Colossians 3:13 NIV

A LADY writes: ‘I found my husband with another woman. Although he begged me for forgiveness, I wanted my pound of flesh, so I filed for divorce even though our kids asked me not to. Two years later my husband was still trying to get me back, but I wanted none of it. He’d hurt me and I wanted revenge. Finally he gave up, married a young widow with two children, and rebuilt his life without me. They’re all so happy and I’m just a lonely, miserable woman, who let bitterness ruin her life.’ Now there’s no question that infidelity is wrong. But without forgiveness, what’s left? There’s a point at which anger stops being a healthy emotion and becomes a driving force. Like a drug, you need larger and larger doses. Once that happens, you move even further from forgiveness, because without anger you’ve no energy at all. It’s what drives hate groups and extremists. Without bitterness they’ve no reason to exist. If you take bigotry from the racist, revenge from the zealot and chauvinism from the sexist, what’s left? ‘Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.’ Bitterness is fatal; it kills your soul. So how can you stop yourself from becoming bitter when you’ve been hurt? a) By looking into the face of the person who hurt you and seeing, instead, the face of the One who showed you mercy when nobody else would have given you another chance. b) By realising that before the day, the week, the month or the year is out, you’ll be needing mercy yourself.

    MD.ii. JESUS LIVES

"I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!" - Revelation 1:18

We do not serve a dead God; we serve a living God! We do not serve a god of wood or stone, but the living God! The basis, the Christian foundation of our faith is that Jesus did not remain dead, but He rose from the death. If we omit this important fact, we will remove the foundation of our faith. 'He is not here; He has risen, just as He said' (Matthew 28:6).

The first to testify about the gospel

Who were the first to hear that Jesus had risen? It was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary. And what were they asked to do when they received this message? They were to tell the disciples. This means they were to testify. These two women were chosen by God as the first to testify about the gospel. It is striking that for this God did not choose men, but women. We know from the Bible that there were many women following and serving Jesus.

    Easter morning in your heart

Easter is a celebration to be happy, to worship Jesus and to exalt God. Dear reader, how are you? Maybe it looks more like Good Friday in your life! Everything is dark around you and you realize how sinful you are. But then suddenly it is Easter morning in your heart. The sun shines and you feel relieved and happy. Why? Because the burden of sin has been taken away from you. Your sins are gone. You become happy and get peace and rest in your heart which is not your own but comes from God.

Then you will sing: 'Because the Lord has risen, the new life begins. A life prepared by His death; a life in His glory.'

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. ⏤ Exodus 20:8

The Sabbath is the link between the paradise which has passed away and the paradise which is yet to come. ⏤ Andrew Murray

Dear God, we start this Sunday with You. It’s Your day, and we want to honor that. You’ve given us this day not as a burden but as a gift. We need the rest to stay healthy, and we need the spiritual refreshment to keep our hearts warm and full of love. Without this day, we might forget to keep You at the center of our lives. So we’re grateful for this day that You’ve set aside for us.

Please make this Sunday a day full of blessings. Help us to focus on You and let go of the world’s distractions. Let us hear Your gentle voice in the quiet moments, reminding us of Your love.

Fill our home with Your peace. Our minds have been stressed and overwhelmed by the week’s demands. Give us Your calm this morning. Take away our worries and anxieties. If the world has taken too much of our focus, let Your grace take over so that You are at the center of our lives again. Strengthen our love for You, so it pushes out any love for things that don’t matter.

Bless everything about this day. As we read Your word, help us understand it and let its teachings guide our lives. As we pray, may we receive the blessings we need: comfort when we’re sad, strength when we’re weak, guidance when we’re unsure, and wisdom when we don’t know what to do.

As we try to be a blessing to others, help us to have the same mindset as Jesus. We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen.

  • Daily pearls from the shore🫧

    Are you still battling?

 “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.” (Exodus 17:11)

    Isn’t this true?

Till we are standing firm and fighting with strength, we are winning. And then we wear out in our strength, the enemy starts winning, and we start losing.

We, humans, are prone to take matters into our own hands. We live with the idea that we can handle and sort everything. We can fix the problems. We talk of resilience and self-sufficiency. We keep fighting our battles on our own. And one fine day, we feel like we are failing. And we are. Because our carnal strength is limited. Self-sufficiency is a lie. Resilience is futile without a source of power.

Amongst various struggles chartered for present times, burnout tops the list, followed by loneliness, insomnia, self-esteem and self-doubt issues, anger, depression, anxiety, and addiction, impacting both physical and mental well-being.

More so, relationship challenges, conflicts, mutual hatred, infidelity, and gender confusions are further weighing everyone down. Most challenging is fighting against temptations.

These fights are not always visible but are present to some extent.
Not to forget, physical ailments, financial goals, work deadlines, success ladders, responsibilities of children and parents, future concerns, and the unforeseen. Seems endless for a mere human to handle.

 Elijah suffered severe physical and emotional exhaustion due to fear of Queen Jezebel. He felt like a failure, ran away, isolated himself, and wished to die. This was the same prophet who, a little while ago, challenged 450 prophets of Baal and had victory.

See the contrast? Elijah tried to fight this fear with his own strength, and it failed him. Earlier, the same Elijah fought 450 Baal prophets, won, and had them seized and put to death. HOW? Because God was in the picture then.

 Peter saw Jesus walking on water in the middle of the storm-tossed sea. He, too, jumped in and started walking on water. And after a while, he started drowning.

The point? Till he had his eyes on Jesus, Peter was walking on water; the moment he took his eyes off, he drowned in the same water. (Matthew 14:25-31 )

Paul talks about fighting the good fight of faith. (1 Timothy 6:12)

 David, a teenage shepherd boy, single-handedly struck down the giant Goliath without any army training or weapon, solely with his faith and a slingshot. The same Goliath whom the whole army and mighty general, including King Saul, couldn’t dare to take on. “All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD's.” (1 Samuel 17:47)

 Joshua, an army general, was concerned that enemies would get together and make an alliance against him overnight. So, Joshua prayed to God and commanded: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon." And it was so, and he won. (Joshua 10: 12-14)

    How? What just happened here?

Instead of relying on themselves for victory, Joshua, David, Elijah, and Peter, when they sought God, won the battles.

For there is a promise, “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)

“Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's.” Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord's victory.” (Chronicles 20:15)

"For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory."(Deuteronomy 20:4)

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Exodus 14:14)
Time and again, God showed up and proved that He is fighting the battles for us.

What battles are you still fighting alone?

A sickness, a depression, a financial crunch, a rebellious child, a temptation, an addiction, a marriage falling apart, a burnout, loneliness, or fear of uncertainty?

Maybe drop your guard before God and let him take over your battles?

    **Call out your Goliath,*
    *Face it with faith,*
    *Aim with confidence,*
    *and watch*
    *God give you victory.**

  • This Week's Prayer Guide

June 21 - This week, pray for personal requests from pastors in Fuyang, for their families and their churches. Pray for God to be with their family and church relationships.

June 22 - The church leaders that we interviewed for Fuyang were mostly deacons because many elders and pastors have been detained by the government. Please pray that the Lord will protect these church leaders and empower them to carry on the work at their churches.

June 23 - Church leaders are finding shepherding a house church more challenging as people deal with “psychological wounds of modern life” - marriage problems, infidelity, dissatisfaction, materialism. Shepherding now demands more time and counseling knowledge. Please pray that God will equip church leaders with adequate time and skills to shepherd their sheep.

June 24 - Church leaders in Fuyang have received updates that their pastors have been sharing the gospel with other prisoners during their detention, and these efforts have been met with surprising openness. “when they hear the Gospel, it’s as though they’ve found a lifeline.” Please pray that God will save many souls through the faithful preaching of these pastors even while they suffer for the gospel.

June 25 - One of the leaders of the churches is seeking to balance ministry, seminary study, and work. Please pray that God and the church can continue to support him financially and spiritually through this period of studies.

June 26 - Thanks be to God, he has blessed one of the church leaders in Fuyang with twins. However, parenting in the midst of persecution has also been extremely difficult as Christians have limited options to educate their children in faith, and many children have developed mental illness due to pressure. Pray that the Lord will protect these children, and let the little children come to him.

June 27 - One Fuyang leader described their generation of Christians as “Christian education generation.” Passing on their new theological understanding and worldview to their children has become a priority. May the Lord bless the new Christian academy that his church established in the last 15 years, and may the children in Fuyang grow up to carry on the faith of their parents and grandparents.

  • Fuyang: Challenges and Struggles
China Partnership: What are some common challenges, fears, and struggles that you and your church encounter as you minister to people in Fuyang? How can we pray?

    Evangelism and Shepherding
Song Xile: The first challenge is political. As control has tightened, evangelism has become harder. Fifteen years ago, we would go to a local park every few months to sing hymns, hand out gospel tracts, and hold a small outdoor worship gathering. This drew in Christians who hadn’t yet found a church. It also made the gospel and Christian faith visible, letting people know a community of believers existed here in Fuyang. That was part of our vision.

But after faith came under tighter control, we couldn’t do that. Even so, if we met someone who was curious about the gospel, we’d sit down and talk. People showed real interest, and some believed. It was actually quite fruitful. But after 2011, we stopped altogether. That is a big challenge: public evangelism has been shut down.

The government promotes the narrative that certain groups are “cults… Because of this, a lot of people are very wary of Christianity…. So, even when we try to share the gospel privately, many people are guarded and resistant.

Private evangelism also has challenges. The government promotes the narrative that certain groups are “cults” without directly saying house churches or mainstream Christianity are cults. Because of this, a lot of people are very wary of Christianity. The government also uses the “cult” label to spread false propaganda that includes regular house churches. So, even when we try to share the gospel privately, many people are guarded and resistant; they’ve been shaped by this narrative.

Another thing that makes Fuyang hard to reach is materialism. Fuyang’s economy developed pretty late, because Fuyang is inland. People are focused on material gain: buying a house, buying a car, looking prosperous. The culture of comparison is very strong. If you ask someone to believe the gospel, their instinct is, “The most important thing right now is earning money.”

The other challenge is shepherding. Ten years ago, we could give a simple sermon, and that was enough. Believers had limited theological knowledge, and basic biblical understanding. A good sermon could engage them. But now, urban believers are more educated, and their overall knowledge is higher. Pastoral care now can’t just stop at preaching or giving advice. More and more, people are dealing with the psychological wounds of modern urban life: marriage problems, infidelity, dissatisfaction, the pull toward other things to satisfy needs that faith alone doesn’t seem to fill. The challenge of secularization is very serious.

It’s more complex to shepherd people through these issues now than it was ten or even five years ago. Now, a simple pastoral visit is not enough. You might need to sit for a long time and just listen while people try to say things they themselves don’t fully understand and can’t quite put into words. I feel this deeply.

I personally went through a serious bout of depression last year. Several others in our church are dealing with it as well. In my experience, depression is one manifestation of psychological and spiritual distress, and it’s becoming more common. A brief conversation won’t help. Pastors today need deeper counseling skills and deeper understanding to shepherd well.

As for prayer, we need to stay open to learn truth, and pastors need to be continually equipped. Faith and knowledge grow hand in hand. We need to hold fast to our church’s original vision of gospel-centered shepherding of believers. Persecution can scatter and distract from that vision, instead drawing attention toward managing the crisis.

We say persecution is a grace from God – and it may well be – but it extracts a real spiritual cost from believers and the church. It shifts our gaze from the gospel to the crisis, from proclaiming the Word to managing fears and responses.

    Nurturing the Relationship with God
Tan Jianli: I totally agree with what Elder Song said – one Sunday sermon is not enough. Yet, I’m grateful that those believers who have stayed [in church despite persecution] are taking their personal walk with God more seriously. After everything we’ve gone through together, they treasure that personal relationship. I’m thankful for that. They are staying committed to the church, and holding onto each other like brothers and sisters. They share prayer requests, chat, care about their relationship with God, and read Scripture and pray. They don’t just show up on Sunday. So, what matters most is not just the Sunday sermon – it’s the personal relationship between each person and God.

We say persecution is a grace from God – and it may well be – but it extracts a real spiritual cost from believers and the church.

I don’t really know how to solve our challenges. Please pray for the servants who are leading our church through this challenging time.

    Bringing Hope Amid Persecution
Zhang Ping: Our main challenges come from two directions. The first is persecution. When we planted a new church, we grew quickly. People brought friends and family; the atmosphere was wonderful and everyone came enthusiastically. But once persecution started, seekers and friends who hadn’t fully committed got scared and stopped coming.

The second challenge is economic and cultural. People are focused on themselves and their freedom, and are drawn to material comfort. In this culture, people’s values are tilted toward the world. That makes evangelism really tough. The forces of economy and culture don’t just affect society, they also deeply affect the church. Pastoral care is harder, especially for young people – both new Christians and the adult children of believing families. You have to understand where people are coming from, how they’re responding to pressure, and then figure out how to use God’s word to shepherd them in a way that actually reaches them.

Some local pastors have been detained. We are told these pastors have been sharing the gospel with other prisoners in the jail – and it is actually going better than on the outside. In prison, people have more free time, and when prisoners hear the gospel, it’s like they’ve found a lifeline. Some are despairing, not knowing what lies ahead, and that’s their state when the pastors share with them. Many in jail are willing to listen, and some have come to believe. In prison, there is real grace to witness.

Looking at the whole picture, these times are genuinely challenging, and test the church. It brings real fear and struggle in people’s hearts. Think about it: what happens if your church is labeled as a “cult?” If your children’s schooling is threatened? Or your job and livelihood are endangered? If you don’t comply, you might lose everything because of your faith. That’s a heavy burden.

How do we, as pastors, shepherd? How do we bring hope? How do we help people realign their values so faith remains central?

    Persecution of Children and Teachers
Hu Laiyang: Our school was raided a few years ago. Since then, we have been basically unable to meet together in-person. Children and teachers face the most direct persecution of any group. Children need to learn every day; they’re not like adults, who just gather [to worship] once or twice a week.

In this situation, learning has been difficult. We have done different things: rent out-of-the-way spaces in rural areas; meet in family homes; hold outdoor classes. Through all this, the academic situation has not been good, and the children’s souls have been deeply wounded. Finally, we had to begin to meet online for much of our time together.

Some local pastors have been detained. We are told these pastors have been sharing the gospel with other prisoners in the jail – and it is actually going better than on the outside… Many in jail are willing to listen, and some have come to believe.

With all this, many children have developed tics, physical and psychological symptoms [of the intense stress]. For me, that’s the most heartbreaking thing. This all creates heaviness and darkness inside.

Certain things make it worse: if parents aren’t directing them, children can fall into phone addictions. Others are only children, and are very lonely. Some families have been repeatedly questioned by the authorities, which brings even further trauma.

The school also serious financial strain. Teachers face very difficult family situations, with teachers barely getting by [on the meager school salary]. We owe these teachers a great debt.

Pastoral care for children is tough, not like it used to be when children were simpler and less “cluttered” in their hearts. Now they have opened their eyes to screens, and endless stimulation everywhere.
Fuyang: Challenges and Struggles China Partnership: What are some common challenges, fears, and struggles that you and your church encounter as you minister to people in Fuyang? How can we pray? Evangelism and Shepherding Song Xile: The first challenge is political. If you ask someone to believe the gospel, their instinct is, “The most important thing right now is earning money.” The other challenge is shepherding. • BEWARE UNFAITHFUL IN MARRIAGE

Marriage is a sacred covenant established by God. It is not merely a contract between two people but a divine institution designed to reflect God's love, faithfulness, and commitment.

One of the greatest threats to marriage is unfaithfulness. Unfaithfulness destroys trust, breaks hearts, damages families, and dishonors God.

Today, many marriages suffer because spouses have become emotionally, spiritually, financially, or physically unfaithful.

God's desire is that husbands and wives remain faithful to one another throughout their lives.

    What Is Unfaithfulness in Marriage?

Unfaithfulness is any act of betrayal that violates the marriage covenant.

    It includes:

    Physical adultery

    Emotional affairs

    Secret relationships

    Pornography and lustful behavior

    Dishonesty and deception

    Neglecting marital responsibilities

Giving someone else the affection reserved for one's spouse

Jesus expanded the definition of adultery beyond physical acts.

    Matthew 5:28

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."

Sin begins in the heart before it manifests in actions.

    Causes of Unfaithfulness

    1. Lack of Fear of God

When people lose reverence for God, they become vulnerable to temptation.

    Proverbs 8:13
"The fear of the LORD is to hate evil."

    2. Uncontrolled Lust

Many fall because they allow sinful desires to grow.

    James 1:14-15
"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."

    3. Poor Communication

When spouses stop communicating, emotional distance develops, creating opportunities for temptation.

    Ephesians 4:29
"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth."

    4. Neglect of Spiritual Life

A weak spiritual life often leads to moral weakness.

    Galatians 5:16

"Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."

    Biblical Examples of Unfaithfulness

    1. King David and Bathsheba

David committed adultery with Bathsheba and later arranged the death of her husband.

    2 Samuel 11
His sin brought severe consequences upon his household.

    2. Samson and Delilah

    Judges 16
Samson's unfaithfulness to God's calling and his compromise with Delilah led to his downfall.

    3. Israel's Spiritual Unfaithfulness

Throughout the Old Testament, Israel repeatedly abandoned God for idols.

    Jeremiah 3:20
"Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me."

This shows how seriously God views covenant unfaithfulness.

    Consequences of Unfaithfulness in Marriage

    1. Loss of Trust

Trust is difficult to build and easy to destroy.

    Proverbs 25:19
"Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth."

    2. Emotional Pain

Unfaithfulness causes deep wounds, disappointment, and heartbreak.

    3. Family Destruction

Children often suffer greatly when marriages are damaged by infidelity.

    4. Spiritual Consequences

Sin separates people from God's fellowship.

    Isaiah 59:2
"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God."

    5. Divine Judgment

    God takes marriage vows seriously.

    Hebrews 13:4
"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

How to Remain Faithful in Marriage

    1. Keep God at the Center

A marriage centered on Christ is stronger against temptation.

    Ecclesiastes 4:12
"A threefold cord is not quickly broken."

    2. Guard Your Heart

    Proverbs 4:23
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

    3. Avoid Tempting Situations

Do not entertain relationships that can compromise your marriage.

    1 Thessalonians 5:22
"Abstain from all appearance of evil."

    4. Strengthen Communication

Speak honestly, lovingly, and regularly with your spouse.

    5. Pray Together

Couples who pray together build spiritual intimacy and unity.

    Matthew 18:19
"If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them."

    Is There Hope After Unfaithfulness?

Yes. God offers forgiveness, healing, and restoration to those who genuinely repent.

    David repented after his sin.

    Psalm 51:10
"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

God forgives those who confess and forsake their sins.

    1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins."

While forgiveness is available, rebuilding trust often requires time, humility, accountability, and consistent change.

    Conclusion

Unfaithfulness in marriage is a serious sin because it violates a sacred covenant established by God.

It brings pain, destroys trust, and can damage generations. However, God calls His children to faithfulness, purity, and commitment.

Whether you are married or preparing for marriage, determine today to honor God with your relationships. Remain loyal to your spouse, guard your heart, resist temptation, and build your home upon God's Word.

    Key Scripture: Hebrews 13:4

"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

    Prayer Points

Lord, help me remain faithful in every area of my marriage.

Father, remove every spirit of lust and temptation from my life.

Restore broken trust and heal wounded hearts in marriages.

Strengthen husbands and wives to honor their covenant before You.

Let every marriage represented here reflect Your love and faithfulness.

Grant repentance, forgiveness, and restoration where there has been failure.
