DAILY LIGHT DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY OCTOBER 16, 2026 YOU CANNOT ENTER A NEW SEASON WITH AN OLD IDENTITY Primary Scriptures: Isaiah 43:18–19 | 2 Corinthians 5:17 | Ephesians 4:22–24 OPENING THOUGHT You are standing at the border of your breakthrough holding an expired passport. God has already stamped your new papers, sealed them with the blood of Jesus, and handed them to your spirit. But every time heaven calls your new name, you flinch because you are still used to answering to the old one. You cannot cross into a land of promise while dragging the luggage of your past. The gate is open. The angel is waiting. But you are arguing with the guard about whether you deserve to walk through. Stop it. Your worthiness was settled at Calvary. The only thing keeping you outside the new season is the old version of you that refuses to let go of the wheel. Drop the old name. The new country does not recognize it. MAIN EXPOSITION I did not come to comfort your feelings today. I came to confront your future. And your future is being held hostage by a ghost — the ghost of who you used to be. Isaiah 43:18–19 says, "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." God is building a highway where there was no road. He is pushing rivers through dry sand. The miracle is already under construction. But you are still walking the old dirt path behind you, looking over your shoulder at the wreckage God already told you to leave behind. You cannot travel two roads at once. The new road goes forward. The old road goes in circles. Every time you replay the memory of what was done to you, what you did to yourself, or what people said about you, you are turning around on the highway and driving straight back into the desert. God said, "Do not remember." That is not a suggestion. That is a survival command. Remembering the old season is the fastest way to miss the new one. Now look at 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Think about a seed. When you plant a seed in the ground, it must crack open completely before it can become a tree. If the seed holds on to its shell because the shell feels safe, it will rot in the dirt and never produce fruit. The cracking is painful. The breaking feels like death. But the breaking is not the end — it is the beginning. Many of you are praying for fruit while refusing to crack. You want the shade of the tree but you are clinging to the shell of the seed. The old you is the shell. It protected you once. It helped you survive the storm. But the storm is over, and the shell is now suffocating the tree God planted inside you. Let it break. Let it fall off. The new creation cannot breathe inside the old container. Ephesians 4:22–24 makes it a battlefield order: "Put off concerning your former conduct the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." Paul is speaking to soldiers. He is saying you cannot wear the enemy's uniform into the camp of the living God. The old man is not your friend. The old man is a spy. He whispers lies that sound like your own voice. He tells you that you will fail again because you failed before. He tells you that you are not qualified because of your history. He tells you that God could never use someone with your background. That is not your voice. That is the old identity wearing your face. Strip it off. Right now. The new man is not a better version of the old man. The new man is a completely different person born from the breath of God. Stop trying to fix the old you. The old you is not broken — it is dead. You do not repair a corpse. You bury it and walk away. The new season is not a calendar change. It is an identity change. January will not fix you. A new job will not fix you. A new relationship will not fix you. A new city will not fix you. Only a new identity in Christ Jesus will fix you. When you know who you are, the season will find you. When you know whose you are, the door will open itself. Stop begging the old season to come back and stop begging the new season to hurry up. Fix your identity, and the season will bow to the name you carry. I command every expired identity, every dead label, every rotten name tag that the world pinned on my reader — I tear you off by the authority of the blood of Jesus! You have no legal right to speak over this child of God any longer. Your contract was cancelled at Calvary. Your voice was silenced at the empty tomb. Be quiet and be gone! I decree that the shell is cracking right now. The old self is falling away like dry skin. The new creation is rising from the inside out with a roar that shakes the gates of hell. I prophesy that the mind of my reader is being rewired at this very moment — every lie is being replaced with truth, every fear is being replaced with boldness, every memory of shame is being washed clean by the river of God's mercy. I declare that the new season is not coming — it is HERE. The highway is built. The river is flowing. The border is open. My reader is walking through right now with a new name, a new walk, a new voice, and a new authority that makes demons tremble and angels rejoice. What God has called you, no man can uncalled. What God has named you, no devil can rename. You are NEW. You are FREE. You are HIS. And the old you will never sit on the throne of your life again! In Jesus Christ mighty name AMEN AND AMEN!

Don't assume your right. Don't assume other peoples actions. Don't assume God's plan. Don't assume the devil's moves. Don't assume the next phase or season of life. FIND OUT, KNOW IT, BE INFORMED, AND THEN USE THAT INFORMATION FOR YOUR ADVANTAGE AND ADVANCEMENT. Your reactions and actions henceforth, should be based on revelation - revealed information, not assumption - perceived information. Don't assume anything, find out about everything. From this day forward, refuse to mother frustration. Choose instead to mother understanding, patience, humility, and love. 16 October The God Who Has Always Been Psalm 90:2 (AMP) “Before the mountains were born Or before You had given birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God.” Devotional Have you ever looked at a mountain and wondered how long it has stood? Mountains remind us of strength, stability, and endurance. Yet, according to Psalm 90:2, even the mountains had a beginning. The earth itself had a beginning. But God? He has always existed. Before the first sunrise painted the sky with golden light, before the oceans filled the earth, and before humanity took its first breath, God was already there. He did not need someone to create Him, nor does He depend on time to sustain Him. He is the eternal God, without beginning and without end. This truth brings tremendous comfort to our everyday lives. We live in a world where circumstances change, relationships sometimes break, opportunities disappear, and seasons of life come and go. What feels secure today may look completely different tomorrow. We may even find ourselves wondering what the future holds or whether we will have the strength to face what lies ahead. But God remains the same. The God who existed before the mountains were formed is the same God who sees you today. He knows your past, understands your present, and already knows what lies ahead. Nothing surprises Him. No situation is beyond His understanding, and no season of your life is outside His knowledge. Perhaps you are standing in the middle of a difficult season. You may be waiting for an answer to prayer, struggling with uncertainty, or trying to understand why something has happened. When life feels unstable, remember that your security does not depend on everything around you remaining unchanged. Your security rests in the unchanging, eternal God. Think about this: mountains may appear permanent to us, but they are part of God's creation. He existed before them, and His existence does not depend on them. In the same way, the things you depend on in this world are not your ultimate source of security. Your career, possessions, relationships, plans, and achievements can all change, but God is greater than every temporary thing. This does not mean that life will always be easy or that every question will receive an immediate answer. It means that you never have to face the uncertainty of life without knowing who holds you. You can trust the One who sees beyond your limited perspective. God was faithful before you knew His name. He was present before you understood His love. And He will remain God long after today's worries have passed. Your circumstances have a timeline, but your God is eternal. Today, lift your eyes beyond what is temporary. Let your heart rest in the One who has always been and will always be. When everything around you seems uncertain, remember that you belong to the eternal God. His greatness is beyond time, His wisdom is beyond your understanding, and His presence is not limited by the changing seasons of your life. You may not know what tomorrow holds, but you can place tomorrow in the hands of the God who has already seen it. Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank You for being the eternal God, the One who existed before the mountains were formed and before the earth came into being. You have no beginning and no end, and Your greatness is beyond anything my mind can fully comprehend. Lord, when life feels uncertain and the things around me begin to change, remind me that You remain the same. Help me not to build my confidence on temporary things, but to anchor my heart in Your unchanging nature. When I worry about tomorrow, teach me to trust Your wisdom. When I feel overwhelmed by my circumstances, remind me that You see the bigger picture. When I become discouraged, help me remember that my life is held by the God who has always been and will always be. Thank You that my past does not surprise You, my present is not hidden from You, and my future is not beyond Your reach. Help me walk with faith, peace, and confidence in Your everlasting presence. You are my God from everlasting to everlasting, and I choose to trust You today. In Jesus' name, Amen. Thought for the Day The world around me may change, but the God I serve is eternal. I can face today and trust tomorrow because my life rests in His everlasting hands. Application for Today Take a few quiet moments today to reflect on God's eternal nature. • Remember: Name one thing in your life that has changed and thank God that He has remained faithful through it. • Release: Give God one worry about your future that you have been trying to control. • Rest: Spend five minutes in prayer, reminding yourself that God was God before your problem existed, and He will still be God when this season has passed. Finding peace in the everlasting presence of God.

A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE “They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. ‘We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,’ they said.” —Acts 14:21–22 I believe that when we get to Heaven, we’ll look back at our time on earth from a different perspective. I believe we’ll realize that the things we viewed as good weren’t nearly as good as we thought they were. I also believe we’ll realize that some things we thought were bad were, in fact, beneficial. For example, our culture has conditioned us to think of prosperity and success as good things. And for some people, they can be, if they’re used for God’s glory. But quite honestly, for others, financial well-being can be a great distraction, something that causes them to lose sight of God. Material possessions can weigh us down, spiritually speaking, when God wants us to travel light.  In addition, we think of sickness or loss or failure as things that are always bad. And they can be bad. Very bad. But they also can be good, because they cause us to cling to God and to lean on Him like we never would have if things had been easier. So, from Heaven’s perspective, a so-called bad thing can be a good thing. When his friend Lazarus was sick, Jesus delayed going to see him in Bethany. John 11:5–7 says, “Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, and then he said to his disciples, ‘Let us go back to Judea’” (NIV).  Instead of running to help Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, as they hoped He would, Jesus delayed His arrival by two days. Why? He wanted Lazarus’ sickness to run its course. He didn’t simply want to heal His friend. He wanted to bring greater glory to His name. Sickness and death were the means to bring about that greater glory. The Lord doesn’t look at trials and suffering as we do. The question is, whose perspective will we trust? Here’s a hint: “‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts’” (Isaiah 55:8–9 NLT)  I believe that God will reveal the whys of our suffering in time. He will help us see the big picture, how our trials ultimately led to a greater good. But until that day, we need to remember these words from Acts 14:21–22: “They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. ‘We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,’ they said” (NIV).  No matter how many hardships we must endure, the result—eternity in the kingdom of God—is more than worth it.  God bless you!

📖 DAILY GOSPEL — BIBLE STUDY SERIES THE GOSPEL OF JOHN STUDY 3 — THE TRUE LIGHT 📖 TODAY'S SCRIPTURE — JOHN 1:7–9 KJV VERSE 7 “The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.” VERSE 8 “He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.” VERSE 9 “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” 🔎 UNDERSTANDING THE WORD VERSE 7 — A WITNESS TO JESUS CHRIST John the Baptist was sent by God with a specific mission. His purpose was to testify about Jesus Christ so that people might believe in Him. John was not drawing attention to himself. He was preparing people to recognise the Saviour. His message pointed beyond himself to Jesus. VERSE 8 — JOHN WAS NOT THE LIGHT Scripture makes an important distinction. John the Baptist was a messenger, not the Messiah. He could tell people about the Light, but he was not the source of that Light. Only Jesus Christ is the true Light. This reminds us that faithful Christian teaching must always point people toward Christ rather than the messenger. VERSE 9 — THE TRUE LIGHT COMES INTO THE WORLD Jesus Christ is described as the true Light. He reveals God's truth to humanity and exposes the darkness of sin. His coming into the world brings light to mankind. This does not mean that every person is automatically saved. John goes on to explain that some reject Christ while others receive Him through faith. ✝️ THE GOSPEL John's message was simple: people needed to believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus came into a world darkened by sin to reveal the Father and bring salvation. Later, Jesus declares: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” — John 8:12 KJV Eternal life is found in Jesus Christ, not in our own goodness or religious achievements. 🌿 APPLYING GOD'S WORD Like John the Baptist, we are called to point others toward Jesus. Our purpose is not to draw attention to ourselves but to help others discover the truth of God's Word. Let your words, actions and testimony direct people toward Christ. 🙏 PRAYER Heavenly Father, Thank You for sending Jesus Christ, the true Light of the world. Help us understand Your Word and believe in Your Son. Teach us to live according to Your truth and point others toward Jesus. *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - FRIDAY, 16TH OCTOBER, 2026.* _REMEMBER ETERNITY — LIVE WITH COMPASSION TODAY!_ 📖 ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: LUKE 16:24 (KJV) “And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” ✝️*REFLECTION: DO NOT IGNORE THE NEEDS OF OTHERS* In Luke 16:19–31, Jesus tells the story of a rich man who lived in luxury while a poor man named Lazarus lay at his gate, covered with sores and longing for the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. The rich man had abundance, but Lazarus lived in painful poverty. Every day, the suffering of Lazarus was close enough for the rich man to notice, yet the story records no act of compassion from him. Eventually, both men died. Lazarus was carried by the angels to Abraham's side, while the rich man found himself in torment. In his anguish, he pleaded for a drop of water to cool his tongue. What a painful reversal! The man who once enjoyed abundance now longed for the smallest comfort. The poor man who had suffered on earth was now comforted. Beloved, Jesus used this story to confront our attitudes towards wealth, suffering, compassion, and eternity. The rich man's problem was not simply that he possessed wealth. Scripture does not teach that every wealthy person is condemned or that poverty automatically guarantees eternal life. Rather, this parable warns us against a life of selfishness, spiritual blindness, and indifference to the suffering of others. The rich man had an opportunity to show compassion, but he failed to respond to the need at his gate. Sometimes, the person God wants you to help is closer to you than you realise. There may be someone around you who needs encouragement, a hungry person who needs food, a struggling family that needs support, a discouraged young person who needs guidance, or a lonely individual who needs someone willing to listen. You may not be able to solve every problem, but you can refuse to become indifferent. As we continue our October journey under the theme “My Month of Joy from Divine Helper,” let us remember that God's blessings should inspire gratitude, generosity, and compassion. The divine help we pray to receive should also shape our willingness to become instruments of help to others. 🔥 DO NOT PRAY ONLY TO RECEIVE HELP; ASK GOD TO MAKE YOU A CHANNEL OF HELP TO SOMEONE ELSE! 📖 THREE POWERFUL LESSONS FROM LUKE 16:24 1️⃣ EARTHLY POSSESSIONS ARE TEMPORARY, BUT ETERNITY IS REAL The rich man enjoyed earthly comfort, but death brought his earthly experience to an end. His story reminds us that money, position, influence, property, and material possessions cannot replace a genuine relationship with God. There is nothing wrong with working hard, building a business, providing for your family, or pursuing legitimate financial progress. The danger arises when material success becomes more important than God, righteousness, and the well-being of others. 📖 Mark 8:36 (KJV): “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Beloved, pursue success, but do not sacrifice your soul on the altar of worldly ambition. Build your career, but build your character too. Gather possessions, but gather heavenly treasures through faith, obedience, love, and service. 🔥 LET YOUR LIFE BE PREPARED FOR ETERNITY, NOT JUST FOR EARTHLY SUCCESS! 2️⃣ NEVER BECOME BLIND TO THE SUFFERING OF OTHERS Lazarus was at the rich man's gate. His suffering was near, visible, and real. Yet the rich man's lifestyle remained unchanged. This is a warning against becoming so occupied with our own comfort that we overlook the pain of those around us. 📖 Proverbs 19:17 (KJV): “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” God values compassion towards the needy. You may not have enough money to support everyone, but you can share what you have, offer practical assistance, provide encouragement, connect someone to a genuine opportunity, or pray with a person who is struggling. Compassion is not limited to financial giving. Sometimes, it means offering your time, listening without condemnation, or helping someone find a responsible solution to a difficult situation. Do not allow the pursuit of your own breakthrough to make you insensitive to another person's pain. 🔥 MAY GOD GIVE YOU EYES THAT SEE NEEDS, A HEART THAT FEELS COMPASSION, AND HANDS THAT ARE WILLING TO HELP! 3️⃣ RESPOND TO GOD'S WORD WHILE YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY In the parable, the rich man's circumstances could no longer be changed by the request he made after death. Jesus' message calls us to take God's Word seriously now. We must not postpone repentance, obedience, forgiveness, generosity, or the work God has placed before us. 📖 Galatians 6:10 (KJV): “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Do good while you have the opportunity. Forgive when forgiveness is appropriate. Repent when God corrects you. Make peace where it is possible and safe. Help someone when you have the ability and opportunity to do so. Above all, put your faith in Jesus Christ and live in the light of His Word. Do not wait until tomorrow to practise the obedience God is calling you to today. 🔥 YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO DO GOOD IS A RESPONSIBILITY; USE IT WISELY! 🪞 TODAY'S PERSONAL EXAMINATION Beloved, take a moment to examine your heart before God. Ask yourself: 1. Have I made material success more important than my relationship with God? 2. Have I ignored someone whose suffering I could have helped to ease? 3. Do I use the resources God has given me with wisdom and compassion? 4. Am I living with eternity in view? 5. Have I postponed an act of kindness, reconciliation, or obedience? 6. Does my faith influence how I treat people who cannot repay me? Remember, this examination is not intended to condemn you. It is an invitation to growth, repentance, and a deeper walk with Christ. God's grace enables us to recognise our shortcomings and respond with faith and obedience. Today, ask the Lord to show you one practical way to express His love to someone. 🔥*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:* As I put my faith in Jesus Christ and commit myself to living according to God's Word, I declare: 🙏 1. MY HEART SHALL REMAIN FOCUSED ON ETERNITY! By God's grace, I shall not allow worldly possessions, temporary pleasures, or the pursuit of success to take the place of my relationship with Him. The Lord shall grant me wisdom to make decisions that honour Him. I shall pursue my earthly responsibilities faithfully while keeping my eternal hope in Christ. One may be poor in the mind, then in character, then in attitudes of relationships and responsiveness to life and people. In fact, you stand a chance to live longer than folks you've honored and respected; the reverse is the case: when you insult, disrespect, or dishonor an elder, you're invariably saying, "I don't want to reach your age when I die!" 🔥⚠️ Unchecked power is sweet until it ruins. **Having Grace Doesn't Mean You Should Keep Sinning** "I have grace," "Jesus loves me just the way I am" — and using that as a shield to keep going in the exact same sin as always. Having grace doesn't mean you should keep sinning. When Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery, He didn't stop at grace. He followed it with a command: *"go, and sin no more"* (John 8:11). Forgiveness isn't the finish line — it's the starting point for a different life. If you received forgiveness and keep the same practice, the same way, without any struggle, without any change, you haven't understood grace. You've just found a comfortable excuse to keep sinning. Jesus had harsh words for those who lived on appearances: *"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also"* (Matthew 23:25-26). So many people today are cups washed on the outside — they go to church, they pray, they post Bible verses — but inside they carry envy, lust, lies, pride, with no intention of changing at all. God isn't impressed by your outside alone. He wants the inside clean, and the outside obeying what He commands. *"He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him"* (1 John 2:9-10). It isn't what you say that proves who you are — it's how you live, how you treat others, whether your life reflects what your mouth declares. Jesus helps those who do what He commands: *"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"* (Luke 6:46). You can call Jesus Lord all day long, but if your life doesn't obey what He taught, that relationship is just words. Being a child of God isn't about carrying the title. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: WHEN GOD SETS YOU FREE: THE POWER OF DIVINE DELIVERANCE. Key Scripture: John 8:36 > “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (KJV) There are battles that human strength cannot win. Sometimes a person can change their environment, relationships, job, or location and still discover that the same struggle follows them. There are situations where counselling is helpful, discipline is necessary, and wise decisions are important—but there are also moments when divine intervention is needed. Deliverance is not merely about escaping trouble. True deliverance is the work of God that brings a person out of bondage and into the liberty He has provided through Jesus Christ. When God sets a person free, He does not merely remove the chain; He restores the person who was bound. The Bible declares: > “He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.” — Psalm 107:14 Whatever has held you captive does not have the final word. God has the power to set His people free. 1. GOD IS A DELIVERER. One of the great revelations of Scripture is that God is not indifferent to human suffering. When Israel was enslaved in Egypt, God heard their cries and intervened. Exodus 3:7–8 > “I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry... and I am come down to deliver them.” God saw. God heard. God came down. And God delivered. This teaches us something important: your situation may be visible to God even when nobody else understands what you are going through. Israel could not deliver themselves from Pharaoh. They needed divine intervention. Likewise, there are situations where you must stop depending entirely on human strength and begin trusting God. Psalm 34:17 > “The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.” God still delivers. 2. JESUS CHRIST CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVE FREE. Divine deliverance is ultimately connected to the ministry of Jesus Christ. Luke 4:18 > “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me... he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives...” Jesus did not come only to make people religious. He came to bring freedom, healing, restoration, forgiveness and reconciliation with God. Some people are physically free but emotionally imprisoned. Some are financially free but spiritually bound. Some are surrounded by people but imprisoned by fear. Some smile publicly while carrying deep wounds privately. Jesus addresses the whole person. 2 Corinthians 3:17 > “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Where Christ reigns, bondage does not have to remain. 3. GOD CAN BREAK CHAINS THAT HUMAN BEINGS CANNOT BREAK The book of Acts records a powerful example of divine intervention. Acts 16:25–26 Paul and Silas were imprisoned because of their faith. Instead of allowing their circumstances to silence them, they prayed and sang praises to God. Then something extraordinary happened: > “And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.” Notice the progression: They prayed. They worshipped. God intervened. The doors opened. The chains fell. This does not mean every deliverance will happen in exactly the same way. But it demonstrates a powerful biblical truth: God is not limited by the prison you are in. A prison may have walls. A prison may have locks. A prison may have guards. But when God intervenes, the prison cannot imprison His purpose for your life. 4. DELIVERANCE IS MORE THAN THE REMOVAL OF A PROBLEM. One of the greatest mistakes people can make is to think that deliverance simply means, “My problem has disappeared.” Biblical deliverance goes deeper. God wants to deliver you from bondage into relationship with Him. Israel was not delivered from Egypt merely so they could wander without purpose. God was taking them toward the Promised Land. Colossians 1:13 > “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” Notice two movements: Delivered from darkness. Transferred into the kingdom of Christ. Therefore, genuine deliverance should produce a changed life. If God delivers you from something, don't return to the same bondage. If He brings you out of darkness, walk in the light. If He frees you from destructive patterns, establish new godly patterns. If He restores you, use your restored life to glorify Him. 5. AFTER DELIVERANCE, GUARD YOUR FREEDOM. Freedom must be valued. Paul told the Galatians: Galatians 5:1 > “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” There is a responsibility that comes with freedom. After God delivers you: - Guard your spiritual life. - Stay in God's Word. - Maintain a prayer life. - Walk in obedience. - Avoid relationships and environments that continually pull you back into destructive patterns. - Seek godly counsel when necessary. - Keep your eyes on Christ. Deliverance is not the end of your journey. It is the beginning of a new life. 6. GOD WANTS TO RESTORE WHAT BONDAGE DESTROYED. Sometimes people focus so much on being delivered that they forget about restoration. But God is interested in restoration. Joel 2:25 > “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten...” God can restore dignity. God can restore hope. God can restore purpose. God can restore relationships where restoration is appropriate. God can restore spiritual strength. God can restore the courage to dream again. Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not have to determine where God is taking you. The scars may remain as reminders of what God brought you through, but the scars do not have to control your future. 7. YOUR DELIVERANCE CAN BECOME A TESTIMONY. God does not waste our experiences. The person who has experienced God's deliverance can become an encouragement to somebody else. The man who once lived in fear can tell someone, “God gave me courage.” The woman who once felt hopeless can tell someone, “God restored my hope.” The person who once lived far from God can testify, “His grace brought me home.” Psalm 40:2–3 > “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit... and set my feet upon a rock... And he hath put a new song in my mouth.” The pit was real. But the pit was not permanent. God brought him out. And after the deliverance came a new song. Your testimony may become somebody else's encouragement to keep believing God. A BIBLICAL PICTURE OF DELIVERANCE: PETER IN PRISON. In Acts 12, Peter was imprisoned and heavily guarded. Humanly speaking, escape appeared impossible. But the church prayed. Acts 12:5 > “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Then God sent an angel. Peter's chains fell off. The prison door opened. And Peter walked out. Acts 12:7l > “And his chains fell off from his hands.” What a powerful picture! Prayer reached where human strength could not reach. Peter could not unlock himself. But God could. PRACTICAL STEPS AFTER GOD SETS YOU FREE. 1. Give God the glory Never forget who delivered you. L > Psalm 115:1 2. Develop a consistent prayer life Prayer keeps your relationship with God active. > 1 Thessalonians 5:17 4. Separate yourself from destructive influences Not every environment is compatible with your new life. > 1 Corinthians 15:33 5. Forgive where forgiveness is required Do not allow yesterday's wounds to become tomorrow's prison. > Ephesians 4:31–32 6. Walk in the Spirit Your freedom should produce spiritual growth. > Galatians 5:16 7. Help others Your testimony can become an instrument of encouragement. > 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 DECLARATIONS OF FAITH. Declare these words in faith: I belong to Jesus Christ. I am not a slave to fear. I am not a prisoner of my past. The power of Christ is greater than every power that opposes God's purpose for my life. I will walk in the liberty Christ has given me. I will not return to the bondage from which God delivered me. My past will not control my future. God is restoring my hope, strengthening my faith and directing my steps. I will live for God's glory. PRAYER FOR DIVINE DELIVERANCE. Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You because You are my Deliverer, my Refuge and my Strength. Lord, wherever I have experienced bondage, fear, oppression, confusion, destructive patterns or anything that is contrary to Your will for my life, bring Your freedom. Break every chain that needs to be broken. Heal every wound that needs healing. Restore what has been damaged. Give me wisdom to recognize what I must leave behind and courage to obey You. Deliver me from every influence that draws me away from Your purpose. Help me to walk in the freedom Christ has given me. According to Your Word, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Let my life become a testimony of Your grace. Turn my sorrow into joy, my fear into faith, my weakness into strength, and my testimony into an encouragement to others. I declare that my life belongs to Jesus Christ. I will walk in His light. I will stand in His truth. I will live for His glory. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. CONCLUSION. When God sets you free, do not go back to the prison. When God opens the door, walk through it. When God breaks the chain, don't pick it up again. When God restores your life, give Him the glory. And when God gives you a testimony, use it to strengthen someone else.
