• Good evening, brethren.

    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    BENEFITS OF GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    ADOPTION.

    *TEXTS:*
    EPHESIANS 1:4-6, GALATIANS 4:4-5.

    *EPHESIANS 1:4-6.*
    4. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love
    5. He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will
    6. to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.

    *GALATIANS 4:4-5.*
    4. But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
    5. to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

    *TOPIC:*
    ADOPTION.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Adoption is the action or fact of legally taking another's child and bringing it up as one's own. Biblically, adoption refers to God's act of welcoming believers into His family, granting them the status of children and heirs, as well as offering them salvation and a new relationship with Him. This new identity also grants them a whole inheritance in God's kingdom. This is a clear demonstration of God's grace to humanity, especially the Gentiles (Rom. 8:14-17). It is disheartening when children from privileged backgrounds live miserably. Therefore, believers should not take their privilege and honour for granted. How is your relationship with your new Father? Cherish your new status, live holy as an obedient child. Do not desire your former sinful life that seeks to please Satan.

    *REFLECTION:*
Be a proud child of your new Father.

    *PRAYER:*
Thank You, Lord, for adopting me. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    TITUS 2:11.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    MARK 4-5.

    ED.ii. THE SLEEPING BRIDE

"I was asleep, but dreaming: The one I love was at the door, knocking and saying: 'My darling, my very own, my flawless dove, open the door for me!'" - Songs of Solomon 5:2

How can a bride sleep when the groom is on the way to fetch her? You understand that this is not possible. The bride says: 'I was dreaming.' The Bride (the Church) is not allowed to sleep today, because we are expecting our Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are happy, we sing and wait. He has not come back yet, but He is on His way. We know that He will come. Some think they have the right to go to sleep, but they are wrong. There is a huge need in this world. The harvest must be brought in.

    Be awake

How can we sleep now? This is impossible. We have to work as long as it is daytime. There is no time to slumber and sleep. This is the message the Church should convey to the children of God. You should also be awake so that He does not come to you like a thief in the night. 'Yes, but I am tired. The fight is too tough. I want to stop!' This is not possible though! It is a matter of life and death.

    The condition of most Christians

The bride from the Songs of Solomon slept while her heart was awake. That is the condition of most Christians today. They are spiritually sleeping, but in their hearts, they do not want to sleep at all because they love the Lord Jesus Christ. The true Christian is not satisfied with a sleeping attitude. The Divine life in you wants to follow the Lord's path and wants to stay awake. 'The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak' (Matthew 26:41).

    Is your heart awake?

I have a question for you: is your heart awake? If so, you cannot be satisfied with being asleep. You will have no rest. Go back to the Bridegroom today and say: 'I have found my Beloved and I will never let Him go.'

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. ⏤ Psalm 122:1

Prayer is the way you defeat the devil, reach the lost, restore a backslider, strengthen the saints, send missionaries out, cure the sick, accomplish the impossible, and know the will of God. ⏤ David Jeremiah

At the end of Your holy day, our Father, we come to You with our evening prayers. May our prayers rise to You like incense. We thank You for what this day has brought us—rest, spiritual help, and instruction in divine things. We thank You for the glimpses of truth we’ve received as we’ve read Your word. We’re grateful for the good impulses and desires that have stirred in our hearts.

Make us strong to face life’s struggles. Give us more peace and confidence amid the world’s chaos and conflicts. May the holy influences of Sunday stay with us like sweet songs, and may we carry the music of gladness wherever we go in the coming week. May the light that has shone on us today make our faces brighter, so we can shine as lights in the world. May the kind thoughts and desires kindled in us by the Holy Spirit drive us to serve others as we go about our lives. In every way, may we carry a blessing into our daily lives that makes the world a little brighter and brings new joy to many hearts.

Bless the preaching of Your word everywhere today. May Your people be strengthened, the sorrowful comforted, and may many find new life in You starting this Sunday. May the world be holier, filled with more of the Spirit of Jesus, because Your people have remembered You today and have called down blessings on others. Pour out a large measure of Your love.

Forgive all our sins and failures in duty, and grant us Your grace and peace as we lie down to sleep. We ask all this through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

Five significant developments in evangelism, prayer, Bible access, Christian care, and biblical archaeology

Today’s briefing highlights a major Gospel gathering in Manchester, a nationwide UK prayer initiative beginning this weekend, a campaign to distribute more than a million Bibles, a call for churches to support people facing mental-health challenges, and new research at a site sometimes claimed to be Noah’s Ark.

    1. Manchester Gospel Gathering Reports Hundreds Responding to Jesus

October 9 report | Manchester, England

    What happened?

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association reported that 10,400 people gathered at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena on October 3 for its God Loves You Tour.

The event featured Gospel preaching by Franklin Graham and worship led by Christian artists, including Charity Gayle. According to the organizers’ October 9 report, hundreds responded to the invitation to follow Jesus.

The report also shared testimonies from two teenagers who attended with family members. One described renewed confidence in her faith, while the other said he had responded to the Gospel invitation.

Churches across the region had helped invite people to the gathering, and the organizers emphasized the importance of connecting those who responded with local congregations for continued discipleship.

    Why it matters

Evangelism is not simply about filling an arena. It is about proclaiming the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and helping people become His disciples.

The cooperation between local churches is particularly encouraging. A large event can open a door, but consistent biblical teaching, fellowship, prayer, and Christian accountability help people grow afterward.

Scripture connection — Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV): Jesus commands His followers to make disciples of all nations and teach them to observe His commands.

What is verified, and what remains to be seen?

    * Reported fact: The event took place, organizers reported 10,400 attendees, and hundreds responded to the invitation.
    * Personal testimony: Attendees described their own spiritual experiences.
    * What remains unknown: Whether every person who responded will continue in Christian faith and discipleship. That fruit takes time to assess.

    2. UK Christians Begin Nine Days of United Prayer for Their Communities and Nation

    October 10–18 | United Kingdom

    What happened?

The UK’s National Week of Prayer has returned for its third consecutive year, with activities scheduled from October 10 through October 18.

According to Christian Today, the initiative brings together churches, Christian organizations, and prayer networks from different traditions. Organizers report that events are planned in more than 100 locations, ranging from small gatherings in homes and workplaces to larger meetings involving church and community leaders.

This year’s theme is “Gather. Remember. Return.” Participants are being encouraged to pray for spiritual renewal, families, local communities, public life, and people in positions of influence.

A central gathering is scheduled for October 15 at the Royal Military Chapel in London. A nine-day prayer plan is also available through the YouVersion Bible App.

    Why it matters

This initiative provides a practical opportunity for Christians to pray together across denominational and organizational boundaries.

Prayer can help believers slow down, seek God’s wisdom, confess where change is needed, and renew their commitment to serving others. United prayer is most fruitful when it also shapes how Christians live, forgive, give, serve, and share the Gospel.

The gathering also creates an opportunity for churches to pray for people outside their own congregations, including those experiencing hardship and those who do not yet know Jesus.

Scripture connection — 1 Timothy 2:1–2: Paul urges Christians to offer prayers and intercessions for all people, including those in positions of authority.

What is verified, and what remains to be seen?

    * Reported fact: The nine-day initiative is scheduled for October 10–18, with events planned at more than 100 locations according to organizers.
    * Interpretation: Participants may hope for national spiritual renewal, but the existence of a prayer initiative does not establish that a revival has occurred.
    * What to watch: Whether the initiative leads to sustained prayer, greater cooperation among churches, and practical service in local communities.

    3. Bible Ministry Launches Campaign to Distribute More Than One Million Bibles

Reported October 3 | International Bible distribution

    What happened?

Bible ministry Eastern European Mission (EEM) has announced a campaign aiming to distribute more than one million Bibles across dozens of countries, marking 500 years since William Tyndale’s English New Testament.

The campaign reflects Tyndale’s conviction that ordinary people should be able to read Scripture in a language they understand. His translation helped shape the English Bible and influenced much of the wording that English readers encounter today.

In an October 3 interview with Christian Today, EEM president Dirk Smith said the organization delivered 2.2 million books in 33 languages across 37 countries during the previous year. He also reported receiving requests for approximately four million books—more than the organization could supply with its available resources.

The interview highlighted requests for Bibles from displaced Ukrainians, as well as demand from other communities. Smith said many recipients specifically request printed copies rather than digital versions.

    Why it matters

Bible distribution and Bible translation address different but related needs. A translation makes Scripture accessible in a language; distribution helps place that Scripture into people’s hands.

Printed Bibles can be especially useful for people with limited internet access, unreliable electricity, or concerns about digital privacy. A physical copy can also be shared with family members, friends, and fellow believers.

The continuing demand reported by EEM is encouraging, but it also highlights the difference between the number of Bibles an organization hopes to distribute and the number it can actually provide.

Scripture connection — Romans 10:17: Faith comes from hearing the message about Christ.

What is verified, and what remains to be seen?

    * Reported fact: EEM has announced a campaign with a target of more than one million Bibles. The figures for previous distribution and requests are reported by its president.
    * Important distinction: The one-million figure is a campaign goal, not a confirmed total already distributed through this campaign.
    * Spiritual significance: Access to Scripture creates opportunities for reading, teaching, and discipleship. Distribution figures alone cannot tell us how recipients will respond to God’s Word.

    4. Church Called to Become a Safer Place for People Facing Mental-Health Challenges

October 1 announcement | Global Christian ministry

    What happened?

For October 2026, Pope Leo XIV has made mental-health ministry the focus of his monthly prayer intention.

In a message reported by Vatican News, he called for churches to become communities where people experiencing anxiety, depression, and other mental-health challenges are welcomed with dignity rather than judged or excluded.

The message acknowledged that Christians have sometimes contributed to stigma by looking away from people who are struggling. It called for greater compassion and support for those experiencing mental illness, as well as for family members, volunteers, and professionals who care for them.

Vatican News also highlighted existing work by Catholic ministries, universities, parishes, and support groups that accompany people experiencing mental-health difficulties.

    Why it matters

Christian compassion should include people whose suffering is not immediately visible.

People experiencing mental-health challenges may need prayer, friendship, practical assistance, pastoral support, and appropriate professional care. These forms of support can complement one another.

The message also challenges churches to examine whether their words and actions make it easier or harder for people to ask for help. A welcoming congregation should not assume that mental illness automatically reflects weak faith or personal sin.

Scripture connection — Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another’s burdens” is Paul’s instruction to the Church.

What is verified, and what remains to be seen?

    * Reported fact: The October prayer intention explicitly focuses on mental-health ministry and reducing stigma.
    * Practical significance: Churches are being encouraged to offer more welcoming and compassionate support.
    * Important distinction: A prayer intention is not evidence that mental-health services have improved everywhere. Real progress depends on how communities put compassionate principles into practice.

    5. New Investigation at Turkey’s Durupınar Formation Renews Debate About Noah’s Ark

October 3–7 reports | Eastern Türkiye

    What happened?

Researchers are conducting a new investigation of the Durupınar Formation in eastern Türkiye, a boat-shaped geological feature that has attracted claims about Noah’s Ark for decades.

In an October 3 report, The Jerusalem Post described preliminary radar findings reported by the group Noah’s Ark Scans. The group says the scans revealed linear features, angular intersections, layered structures, and possible voids beneath the formation. Researchers involved in the project interpret some of these anomalies as potential internal structures.

The team has also begun drilling and collecting samples for laboratory analysis. A separate report from Popular Mechanics, published October 7, described soil samples with elevated organic-carbon content and noted that further analysis is needed to determine what the material represents.

However, the claims have not been independently verified or peer-reviewed. The formation has previously been interpreted by other researchers as a natural geological feature, and no conclusive archaeological evidence has established that it is Noah’s Ark.

    Why it matters

The account of Noah and the Flood in Genesis 6–9 is significant to biblical theology. It describes God’s judgment, Noah’s obedience, preservation through the Flood, and the covenant that follows.

Scientific investigation can be worthwhile when it asks testable questions and allows evidence to challenge an initial hypothesis. But the importance of a biblical account does not make every proposed archaeological identification correct.

This case is a useful reminder that an anomaly is not the same thing as an artifact, and an artifact is not automatically proof of a particular biblical event.

Scripture connection — Genesis 6:14: God instructs Noah to make an ark. The biblical text describes the ark, but it does not identify the modern Durupınar formation as its location.

What is verified, and what remains unproven?

    * Reported fact: A research team has conducted radar surveys and begun collecting samples at the formation.
    * Preliminary claim: The team believes some of its findings could indicate a man-made structure.
    * Scientific status: The findings have not been independently verified or peer-reviewed.
    * Biblical conclusion: The site has not been established as Noah’s Ark. The investigation does not prove that the Flood account has received new archaeological confirmation.

    ⸻

Prophecy Watch: What Should Christians Take Away Today?

These stories touch on evangelism, access to Scripture, prayer, care for vulnerable people, and a site associated by some with the biblical Flood. They offer meaningful reasons to study, pray, and remain engaged—but none establishes a specific end-times prophecy as fulfilled.

    1. The Gospel is still being proclaimed

Matthew 24:14 (ESV) speaks of the Gospel of the kingdom being proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations.

The Manchester gathering and the Bible-distribution campaign relate directly to the Church’s continuing mission to proclaim Christ and make Scripture accessible.

What we can conclude: Evangelism and Bible distribution continue to be important parts of Christian mission.

What we cannot conclude: These individual developments prove that Matthew 24:14 has been fulfilled or establish the timing of Christ’s return.

    2. Bible archaeology should inform—not replace—biblical interpretation

The Durupınar investigation illustrates why evidence and interpretation must be distinguished.

What we can conclude: Scientific investigation can help assess claims about historical sites associated with biblical accounts.

What we cannot conclude: Preliminary radar patterns or unusual soil samples prove that the biblical Ark has been found. That conclusion would require much stronger, independently evaluated evidence.

    3. Prayer and compassionate service remain practical Christian responsibilities

The UK prayer initiative and the call for more compassionate mental-health ministry point toward two everyday responsibilities of the Church: seeking God’s wisdom and caring for people.

What we can conclude: Christians have biblical reasons to pray, support one another, and serve people who are suffering.

What we cannot conclude: A prayer campaign or ministry announcement, by itself, establishes that a national revival or prophetic fulfilment has occurred.

    A Scripture-first standard for prophecy

Before accepting a claim about current events, ask:

    1. What does the biblical passage explicitly say in context?
    2. What facts have been independently established?
    3. What part of the claim is testimony, hypothesis, or interpretation?
    4. Does the conclusion follow from Scripture, or has a meaning been imposed on the event?

Today’s assessment: We have encouraging reports of evangelism, an active prayer initiative, a Bible-distribution goal, and a call for more compassionate ministry. We also have a new archaeological investigation whose claims remain unconfirmed. None of these establishes a specific biblical prophecy as fulfilled.

    ⸻

    Today’s Scripture and Prayer

“Test everything; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (ESV)

    Father God,

Thank You for every opportunity to proclaim the Gospel, for the people working to make Your Word accessible, and for churches seeking to care for those who are struggling.

Strengthen believers to make disciples faithfully, pray with perseverance, and serve their neighbours with humility and love. Give wisdom to researchers studying biblical history, and help us distinguish established evidence from speculation. Protect Christians who face persecution and those who are vulnerable, lonely, or in need of help.

Teach us to study Your Word carefully, test what we hear, and remain faithful without fear or sensationalism. May our lives point others to Jesus Christ, our hope and salvation.

    In Jesus’ name, amen.

Why it matters Christian compassion should include people whose suffering is not immediately visible. Why it matters The account of Noah and the Flood in Genesis 6–9 is significant to biblical theology. Sources: The Jerusalem Post: Radar survey renews debate over Durupınar Formation · Popular Mechanics: New investigation at the proposed Noah's Ark site ⸻ 🔎 Prophecy Watch: What Should Christians Take Away Today? These stories touch on evangelism, access to Scripture, prayer, care for vulnerable people, and a site associated by some with the biblical Flood. They offer meaningful reasons to study, pray, and remain engaged—but none establishes a specific end-times prophecy as fulfilled. 1. The Gospel is still being proclaimed Matthew 24:14 (ESV) speaks of the Gospel of the kingdom being proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations. 2. Bible archaeology should inform—not replace—biblical interpretation The Durupınar investigation illustrates why evidence and interpretation must be distinguished. What we can conclude: Scientific investigation can help assess claims about historical sites associated with biblical accounts. What we cannot conclude: Preliminary radar patterns or unusual soil samples prove that the biblical Ark has been found. That conclusion would require much stronger, independently evaluated evidence. 3. Prayer and compassionate service remain practical Christian responsibilities The UK prayer initiative and the call for more compassionate mental-health ministry point toward two everyday responsibilities of the Church: seeking God’s wisdom and caring for people. What we can conclude: Christians have biblical reasons to pray, support one another, and serve people who are suffering. What we cannot conclude: A prayer campaign or ministry announcement, by itself, establishes that a national revival or prophetic fulfilment has occurred. A Scripture-first standard for prophecy Before accepting a claim about current events, ask: 1. ⸻ 🙏 Today’s Scripture and Prayer “Test everything; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (ESV) Father God, Thank You for every opportunity to proclaim the Gospel, for the people working to make Your Word accessible, and for churches seeking to care for those who are struggling.

  • Daily Devotion — October 11 | Romans 8:37 (NKJV)

Victory Does Not Mean We Never Face a Battle

Romans 8:37 is sometimes quoted as though being “more than conquerors” means believers should experience a life without serious hardship. The surrounding verses teach exactly the opposite. Paul speaks about tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, and sword. His confidence is not that Christians will avoid every battle, but that none of those battles can separate them from the love of Christ.

That gives biblical victory a much deeper meaning. Sometimes victory is God removing the problem, but other times victory is God giving us the strength to remain faithful while walking through it. A difficult season does not automatically mean we are losing. We may be experiencing enormous pressure while God is producing endurance, faith, character, wisdom, and deeper dependence upon Him.

This matters because we often measure victory by visible outcomes. We think we are winning when the business succeeds, the relationship improves, the prayer is answered exactly as requested, the financial pressure disappears, or the difficult person changes. Those outcomes can certainly be blessings, but Romans 8 gives us a stronger definition of victory: whatever happens around us, nothing can separate us from Christ's love.

That truth protects us from allowing circumstances to determine God's character. When life is going well, it can be easy to say God is good. When everything begins falling apart, we may start wondering whether He still loves us. Paul anchors God's love somewhere much stronger than favorable circumstances. Christ has already demonstrated His love, and no trial has enough power to separate believers from Him.

Being more than conquerors also changes how we approach adversity. We do not have to enter every difficult situation assuming it will destroy us. We can honestly acknowledge that something is painful, frightening, exhausting, or uncertain while remembering that Jesus remains with us. Courage is not pretending we are never afraid; courage is continuing to trust and obey Christ even when fear is present.

There are also battles where victory means refusing to become what the trial is tempting us to become. Someone hurts us, but we refuse to live in bitterness. Financial pressure comes, but we refuse dishonest shortcuts. We are criticized unfairly, but we refuse revenge. Temptation becomes intense, but we continue resisting. A prayer remains unanswered, but we continue trusting God. These victories may not look dramatic from the outside, but spiritually they are significant because the trial did not pull us away from Christ.

Romans 8 closes by reminding believers that neither death nor life, angels nor principalities, things present nor things to come, height nor depth, nor any other created thing can separate us from God's love in Christ Jesus. Our greatest victory is therefore not that nothing difficult will ever happen. Our victory is that nothing difficult can ultimately take Christ away from us.

    Reflection Questions

    1. Have I been defining victory only by whether my circumstances turn out the way I want?
    2. What current battle is tempting me toward fear, bitterness, compromise, dishonesty, or hopelessness?
    3. How would I approach my present difficulty differently if I truly believed nothing could separate me from the love of Christ?

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that through Jesus Christ I am more than a conqueror. Help me understand that victory does not mean I will never experience difficulty, disappointment, temptation, or suffering. When trials come, give me strength to remain faithful and keep my heart from bitterness, fear, compromise, or hopelessness. Remind me that Your love is not measured by how easy my circumstances are and that nothing can separate me from Christ. Give me courage to face today's battles knowing that Jesus has already secured my greatest victory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    Practical Application

    - Identify the current battle consuming most of your attention and ask what faithfulness to Christ looks like within it today.
    - Stop measuring God's love solely by whether your circumstances are improving.
    - When pressure tempts you toward compromise, decide beforehand that obedience is more important than obtaining an easier outcome.
    - If someone has hurt you, refuse to allow their actions to turn bitterness into your next spiritual battle.
    - When fear rises, remind yourself that the trial may affect your circumstances, but it cannot separate you from the love of Christ.

We Learn Three Things From This Devotional

    - Victory does not mean the absence of battles. Being more than a conqueror does not mean Christians avoid hardship; it means hardship does not have the final authority over us. Through Christ, we can remain faithful even when circumstances are painful, uncertain, or completely different from what we wanted.
    - Some of our greatest victories happen inside us before circumstances ever change. Refusing bitterness when someone hurts us, rejecting compromise under financial pressure, resisting temptation when nobody is watching, and continuing to trust God when prayers seem unanswered are genuine spiritual victories.
    - Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Circumstances can change, people can disappoint us, plans can fail, and difficult seasons can come, but none of those things can remove Jesus from our lives. Our greatest victory is not that every battle ends the way we want; it is knowing that whatever happens, we still belong to Christ.

  • WHEN GOD IS SILENT, DOES IT MEAN HE HAS FORGOTTEN YOU?

Have you ever prayed about something so deeply that you didn't know what else to say?

    You prayed.
    You waited.
    You cried.
    You believed.
And still, nothing seemed to change.

Perhaps you even began to wonder, “Lord, can You hear me? Have I done something wrong? Why does everyone else seem to have an answer while I am still waiting?”

If you've ever felt this way, I want you to pause for a moment.

Let's look at something Jesus did that might surprise you.

When Lazarus was sick, Jesus received the news. Lazarus was someone He loved. His sisters, Mary and Martha, were waiting for Him to come.

    But what did Jesus do?

    John 11:6 says:

“So when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.”

    He heard the news.

    He knew what was happening.

And yet, He delayed His arrival.

Imagine being Mary or Martha. You know Jesus can heal the sick. You know He loves your family. So why isn't He coming?

Have you ever asked God a similar question?

“Lord, if You love me, why is this taking so long?”

I won't pretend that waiting is easy. Silence can hurt, especially when the matter is close to your heart.

But the story of Lazarus reminds us that delay does not necessarily mean neglect, and silence does not mean Jesus has stopped caring.

Jesus had a purpose Mary and Martha could not yet see.

We must be careful not to assume that every delay means God is preparing a dramatic breakthrough. Sometimes we don't know why He allows us to wait. Some prayers remain unanswered in the way we hoped, and some seasons bring real grief.

But even when we cannot explain His timing, we can still bring our pain to Him.

And perhaps this is where our relationship with Jesus grows deeper.

Do we want Him only because of what He can give us?

Or are we learning to trust Him because of who He is?

It is easy to praise God when the answer comes quickly.

But can we still seek Him when the door remains closed, when the tears haven't stopped, and when we have no explanation?

My friend, you are allowed to grieve. You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to tell Jesus that waiting hurts.

Just don't let His silence become the reason you run away from Him.

    Come closer.

Keep praying honestly. Keep walking in the truth He has given you. Keep seeking Him, not merely for His gifts, but for Himself.

The Jesus who met Mary and Martha in their grief is still worthy of your trust.

Let me ask you something: Have you ever gone through a season when God seemed silent, but you later understood something about His faithfulness that you couldn't see at the time?

If you're comfortable sharing, your experience might encourage someone who is still waiting.

And if you're still waiting, may you find grace to keep holding on to Jesus.

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - SUNDAY, 11TH OCTOBER, 2026.*

19TH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY | SECOND SUNDAY IN OCTOBER

_LET A RENEWED HEART PRODUCE A LIFE THAT GLORIFIES GOD!_

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:
“O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.”
    — Psalm 51:15 (KJV)

*REFLECTION —LORD, OPEN MY MOUTH FOR PRAISE AND TESTIMONY.*

Beloved in Christ, welcome to another beautiful Sunday in God's presence!

As we continue our October theme, “My Month of Joy from Divine Helper,” today's Scripture directs our attention to repentance, spiritual renewal, and a life that reflects God's goodness.

Psalm 51 is David's prayer for mercy and restoration after recognising his sin. Rather than making excuses, he humbly sought God's forgiveness and cleansing.

In verse 15, David prayed that the Lord would open his lips so that he could declare His praise.

David understood that his greatest need was not merely a change in his circumstances but a restored relationship with God.

This teaches us an important lesson: genuine praise flows from a heart that recognises God's mercy and responds to Him with gratitude and obedience.

You may have faced disappointments, unanswered prayers, family challenges, or personal struggles. Yet you can still approach God honestly, seek His help, and trust His faithfulness.

Christian praise does not mean pretending that life is perfect. It means recognising God's goodness even while facing life's realities.

TODAY, ASK GOD TO RENEW YOUR HEART, STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH, AND HELP YOU LIVE IN A WAY THAT BRINGS GLORY TO HIS NAME.

    1. SEEK GOD'S MERCY AND A RENEWED HEART

    Psalm 51:10 (KJV)

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

David's prayer reminds us that spiritual renewal begins with humility and a willingness to change.

Sometimes, we pray for open doors without examining our attitudes. We ask for divine favour while struggling to forgive others. We desire greater opportunities but overlook the importance of honesty, integrity, and obedience.

God is interested not only in our outward circumstances but also in the condition of our hearts.

Before asking God to change everyone around you, invite Him to transform you.

Ask Him to remove bitterness, pride, envy, dishonesty, and every attitude that hinders your spiritual growth.

Remember, however, that not every hardship is caused by personal sin. Difficulties can arise for many reasons, and we should approach them with wisdom rather than condemnation.

    PRAYER
Heavenly Father, search my heart and show me where I need to change. Forgive my sins, cleanse me, and renew a right spirit within me. Help me walk in humility, integrity, and obedience. Let my life reflect the character of Jesus Christ.

    In Jesus' name, Amen.

    2. DO NOT ALLOW DISCOURAGEMENT TO SILENCE YOUR FAITH

Life brings seasons when disappointment makes it difficult to remain hopeful.

You may be praying for employment, seeking financial stability, facing family challenges, or carrying responsibilities that others do not understand.

During such moments, it is easy to focus exclusively on what has gone wrong.

Psalm 51:15 invites us to turn our attention toward God, whose mercy gives us reason to keep seeking Him.

Praise does not require us to deny our struggles. We can acknowledge our pain while remaining confident that God is worthy of our trust.

Philippians 4:6–7 encourages us to bring our requests to God through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, trusting Him for the peace that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

    When you feel discouraged:

    - Pray honestly about what is troubling you.
    - Remember God's faithfulness in previous seasons.
    - Read Scripture and seek wisdom for your situation.
    - Talk to trustworthy people when you need support.
    - Take practical steps toward addressing the challenges you face.

Praise is not a formula for forcing God to grant our requests. It is an expression of trust that keeps our hearts directed toward Him.

    REMEMBER:

YOU CAN FACE DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES WITHOUT ABANDONING YOUR HOPE IN GOD.

    DECLARATION

I receive grace to remain faithful during difficult seasons. I will seek God's wisdom, depend on His strength, and continue moving forward with hope in Jesus Christ.

    3. LET THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION STRENGTHEN YOU

    Psalm 51:12 (KJV)

“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.”

David's prayer reminds us that our relationship with God is more valuable than outward success.

The joy of salvation comes from knowing that, through Jesus Christ, we can receive forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and the hope of eternal life.

However, believers can still experience sadness, exhaustion, grief, and disappointment. Faith does not mean we must always feel happy or pretend that everything is fine.

When life's responsibilities become overwhelming, return to God in prayer. Meditate on His Word, seek fellowship with other believers, and make room for rest and appropriate support.

Habakkuk 3:17–18 reminds us that even when visible sources of provision fail, we can still rejoice in the Lord.

This is not a denial of hardship. It is a declaration that our hope is deeper than our present circumstances.

    PRACTICAL LESSON

Do not measure God's love for you solely by how quickly your prayers are answered or how comfortable your circumstances become.

Remain rooted in Christ, seek His guidance, and trust Him one day at a time.

    DECLARATION

THE JOY OF MY SALVATION SHALL REMAIN MY TREASURE. THROUGH EVERY SEASON, I WILL CONTINUE TO SEEK GOD AND TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST.

    4. LET YOUR TESTIMONY ENCOURAGE OTHERS

God's goodness should inspire us not only to give thanks but also to serve others with love and compassion.

Your experience of receiving encouragement during a difficult season may help someone who feels alone.

Your testimony of forgiveness may inspire someone who is struggling with guilt.

Your experience of learning from failure may encourage someone who is afraid to begin again.

However, share your testimony truthfully and humbly. Never use your experiences to shame those whose prayers have not yet been answered.

Every person's journey is different. Some are celebrating breakthroughs, while others are grieving, waiting, or rebuilding their lives.

Our responsibility is to encourage one another and point people toward the grace of God.

    PRACTICAL APPLICATION

This Sunday, consider contacting someone who may need encouragement. Listen patiently, offer sincere words of comfort, and provide practical help where possible.

Let your faith be visible not only in your words but also in your actions.

A LIFE THAT REFLECTS CHRIST'S LOVE CAN BECOME A SOURCE OF HOPE TO OTHERS.

    ‍‍‍ PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY

Heavenly Father, I commit my family into Your loving hands.

Thank You for the gift of life and the relationships You have entrusted to us.

Forgive us where we have wronged You or one another. Teach us to speak kindly, forgive sincerely, and pursue peace with humility.

Where there is misunderstanding, grant wisdom and patience.

Where there is grief, bring comfort.

Where there is sickness, grant strength and guide us toward appropriate care.

Where there is financial pressure, provide direction, discipline, and legitimate opportunities.

Protect the children in our households and guide them toward wisdom and godly character.

Help us support one another through difficult seasons and celebrate one another's progress without envy.

May our homes become places of love, understanding, prayer, and mutual encouragement.

LORD, STRENGTHEN OUR FAMILIES AND HELP US WALK TOGETHER IN LOVE AND FAITH.

    In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

    PRAY FOR YOUR MINISTRY

Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for the privilege of serving You.

Purify my motives, strengthen my faith, and help me remain faithful to the work You have entrusted to me.

When ministry becomes difficult, renew my strength.

When I make mistakes, grant me humility to acknowledge them and make things right.

When I encounter opposition, help me respond with wisdom and Christian character.

Protect my heart from pride, jealousy, and bitterness. Teach me to appreciate the gifts of others and work in unity with fellow believers.

Help me encourage young people, strengthen families, and share the Gospel with love and conviction.

May my ministry produce genuine spiritual growth and point people toward Jesus Christ.

LORD, USE MY WORDS AND ACTIONS TO COMMUNICATE YOUR TRUTH AND DEMONSTRATE YOUR LOVE.

    In Jesus' name, Amen.

PRAY FOR YOUR WORK AND DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Heavenly Father, I commit the work of my hands into Your care.

Grant me wisdom to make responsible decisions, diligence to fulfil my duties, and integrity in all my dealings.

Help me recognise genuine opportunities and develop the skills I need to grow.

Where I face setbacks, teach me to learn from them and begin again wisely.

Where financial pressures arise, help me manage my resources carefully, avoid harmful schemes, and seek sound advice when necessary.

Teach me to remain patient and faithful without comparing my progress with that of others.

Bless the honest work of my hands, and help me use my resources to care for my family and serve others.

LORD, GUIDE MY DECISIONS, ESTABLISH THE WORK OF MY HANDS, AND HELP ME WALK IN WISDOM.

    In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

*TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - SUNDAY, 11TH OCTOBER, 2026.* ⛪ 19TH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY | SECOND SUNDAY IN OCTOBER 🔥 _LET A RENEWED HEART PRODUCE A LIFE THAT GLORIFIES GOD!_ 📖 ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: “O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.” — Psalm 51:15 (KJV) ✝️ *REFLECTION —LORD, OPEN MY MOUTH FOR PRAISE AND TESTIMONY.* Beloved in Christ, welcome to another beautiful Sunday in God's presence! 🌿 1. SEEK GOD'S MERCY AND A RENEWED HEART 📖 Psalm 51:10 (KJV) “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” David's prayer reminds us that spiritual renewal begins with humility and a willingness to change. 🙏 PRAYER Heavenly Father, search my heart and show me where I need to change. Forgive my sins, cleanse me, and renew a right spirit within me. Help me walk in humility, integrity, and obedience. Let my life reflect the character of Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🔥 2. DO NOT ALLOW DISCOURAGEMENT TO SILENCE YOUR FAITH Life brings seasons when disappointment makes it difficult to remain hopeful. When you feel discouraged: - Pray honestly about what is troubling you. ❤️ REMEMBER: YOU CAN FACE DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES WITHOUT ABANDONING YOUR HOPE IN GOD. 🔥 DECLARATION I receive grace to remain faithful during difficult seasons. I will seek God's wisdom, depend on His strength, and continue moving forward with hope in Jesus Christ. 🕊️ 3. LET THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION STRENGTHEN YOU 📖 Psalm 51:12 (KJV) “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” David's prayer reminds us that our relationship with God is more valuable than outward success. • Good morning, brethren.

    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY.
    SUNDAY OCTOBER 11, 2O26.
"YOU'VE GOT TO WORK AT IT!"

…Well informed, quick to understand…qualifier to serve…’ Daniel 1:4 NIV

WHEN NEBUCHADNEZZAR captured the Jews, he told his Chief of Staff to look for the brightest and best, and bring them to his palace. He wanted the following qualities: ‘Showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace.’ Daniel seized the opportunity. Yes, God gave him favour, but he also had to work at it! The CEO of one of the world’s largest companies put it this way: ‘The only way you’re going to stand out, is to grasp this simple principle: When your boss asks you a question, assigns you a project or sends you to gather data, he already knows the answer he’s looking for. He just wants you to confirm that what he believes is true. Most people do just that. But there’s a difference. You must understand that the question is only the beginning. To elevate yourself, you must sink your thoughts into not only answering the question, but going above and beyond it. That means presenting him with three or four other ideas that he’d probably not considered. Your goal should be to add value to the idea by exceeding expectations. This is true not only with questions, but assignments, initiatives, and anything else ever given you to do. If you understand that the question is only the beginning, you’ll get out of the pile fast, because 99 percent of all employees stay in the pile because they don’t think. If you understand this principle, you’ll be given even more critical questions to answer, and in time, you will be the one giving the questions to others.’

*THE POWER OF HUMILITY BEFORE GOD*

    *TEXT:* 2 KINGS 1:13–18*

    13. And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.
    14. Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.
    15. And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.
    16. And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
    17. So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
    18. Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

    *Timeless Truth*
_Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up_
    ( James 4:10)

    *INTRODUCTION*

In 1996, during the Dunblane school tragedy in Scotland, teacher Gwen Mayor and others acted with extraordinary courage to protect children when a gunman entered the school. The event remains a painful reminder that, in moments of danger, people quickly discover that human strength and authority have limits. In a crisis, the right response is not pride, but humility, wisdom and a willingness to seek help.
Something similar occurs in 2 Kings 1. King Ahaziah was seriously ill, but instead of seeking the Lord, he sought guidance from Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron. Elijah announced God's judgment because of this rebellion.
The first two captains approached Elijah arrogantly and demanded that he come down from the mountain. Fire consumed them. The third captain, however, approached differently. He humbled himself, pleaded for mercy and acknowledged Elijah as God's servant. His humility made a remarkable difference.
*The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.* (Proverbs 15:8) The passage teaches us that God is not impressed by position, rank, threats or human authority. He desires hearts that recognize His sovereignty and respond to Him with humility.

    *1. The Danger of Pride*

    a. The first two captains approached Elijah with authority and command. The third captain recognized that he was standing before a representative of God. Ahaziah had already received God's Word through Elijah, yet he continued in rebellion. We must never allow our position, education, wealth, influence or accomplishments to make us feel independent of God. A person may be powerful before people, but completely powerless before God.
    b. The first captain said: *“Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’” — (2 Kings 1:9)*
He treated God's prophet as though royal authority could override divine authority. Respect for legitimate authority is biblical, but no human authority has the right to demand disobedience to God. When human commands contradict God's Word, believers must remain faithful to God.
    c. The first two captains presumed that Elijah could be compelled by royal command.
Presumption says, *“I can handle this without God.”* Humility says, *“Lord, I need You.”*
Every believer should regularly examine his or her heart for hidden pride.

    *Questions*

    (i) Am I allowing my position, possessions, education or achievements to make me less dependent upon God?
(ii) Is there an area where I am insisting on my own way instead of submitting to God's Word?

    *2. The Posture of Pleading*

    a. The third captain approached Elijah differently. His posture communicated something his predecessors had failed to understand: God deserves reverence.
The captain fell on his knees. Kneeling is not merely a physical posture; it represents a heart that acknowledges God's greatness.
We should cultivate humility in prayer, worship, decision-making and relationships.
    b. The third captain did not demand. He pleaded: *“Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.”*
He appealed to mercy rather than personal entitlement. When we face impossible situations, our first response should be prayer rather than panic, manipulation or human schemes. God's throne is a throne of grace.
    c. The third captain did not plead only for himself. He pleaded for the fifty men under his responsibility. God places people around us who need our prayers. Parents should intercede for children. Pastors should pray for congregations. Leaders should pray for those under their care. Christians should pray for friends, neighbours, communities and even those who oppose them.

    *Questions*

(i.) When confronted by crisis, is prayer my first response or my last resort?
(ii) Who are the people God has placed under my influence for whom I should be interceding?

*3. The Power of Prophetic Word*

    a. God responded to the humble approach of the third captain. *“And the angel of the LORD said to Elijah, ‘Go down with him; do not be afraid of him."* The same prophet who had been associated with judgment now became the instrument through which God's Word was delivered.
Elijah went with the captain because God instructed him to do so. God's Word is not a suggestion. It is the authoritative standard by which believers must live.
We should not adjust Scripture to suit our preferences; we should adjust our lives to conform to Scriptures.
    b. The king had been given an opportunity to respond to God's warning, but the judgment stood because of his persistent rebellion.
Hearing God's Word without responding to it is dangerous. Whenever Scripture exposes something wrong in our lives, we should repent rather than defend ourselves.
    c. The chapter ends with the king's death: God's Word ultimately prevails.
The blessing is not merely in hearing sermons, attending church or possessing Bibles. The blessing comes through hearing and obeying God's Word.
The question is not only, “What did God say?” but also, “What am I going to do about what God has said?”

    *Questions*

    (i) How do I respond when God's Word corrects something in my life?
(ii) Is there any instruction from Scripture that I know of, but have been deliberately postponing obeying it?

    *Prayer Points*

    1. Father, deliver me from every form of pride, arrogance, self-reliance and presumption. Give me a humble and teachable heart.
    2. Lord, teach me to seek You first whenever I face difficulties and make me faithful in prayer and intercession.
    3. Lord, help me to faithfully intercede for my family, church, friends and everyone You have placed under my influence.
    4. Father, give me grace not merely to hear Your Word, but to obey it faithfully, even when obedience is difficult.

And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight" (2 KINGS 1:13).*_

*Bishop Latimer, delivering a sermon before King Henry VIII, offended the King with his candidness. The king ordered Latimer to repeat the message the following Sunday and apologise publicly for his "offence". Latimer approached the pulpit and began by reflecting on the gravity of his audience, acknowledging the King's power to cut short his life. However, he recalled his obligation to God, whose message he preached and whom he knew had ultimate authority over his fate. With this conviction, he resolutely preached the same sermon with greater fervour, demonstrating that his reverence for God outweighed his fear of earthly power. It was an obeying-God-rather-than-men situation.*

*The captain of the third fifty soldiers sent by King Ahaziah to arrest Prophet Elijah seemed to be conscious of this principle when he adopted a reverential approach, unlike his predecessors. Ahaziah, the king of Israel, had been hurt by a fall. He sent messengers to Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to inquire whether he would recover. Elijah accosted the king's messengers and sent them back with the message that the apostate Ahaziah would die. The infuriated king issued a warrant for Elijah's arrest. The first band of 50 soldiers, led by a captain, arrogantly commanded Elijah, in the name of the king, to come down from the hill where he was. The prophet was moved to call down fire upon them, and they were consumed by it. Unfortunately, a second contingent behaved similarly and suffered the same fate.*

*The captain of the third contingent sent by Ahaziah was not only wiser but also God-fearing. He approached the man of God with utmost respect and pleaded for his life to be spared. It is no wonder that an angel of God instructed Elijah to go with the captain to King Ahaziah. By doing so, the captain demonstrated what it takes to do the will of God even within the context of an ungodly authority.*

*An attitude and action of humble submission to God, even at the risk of losing a job, fortune or opportunity, has always attracted divine favour. If you ever find yourself in a situation where pleasing men, no matter how powerful, means displeasing God, adopt the obeying-God-rather-than-men option. Those who do so always turn out to be the ultimate winners.*

Zeinab was a talkative and proud girl who loved to boast about her father's wealth. One day, while chatting and playing with other children at an amusement park, a man with an evil intention overheard her narrating to her friends how one of her father's customers brought a bag full of cash to her dad for some goods purchased! The bad man alerted his criminal gang about the information he got through Zeinab's loose tongue.

While Zeinab and her parents were on their way back home that Saturday evening, the gang overtook their car, blocked their way and shot into the air. They grabbed Zeinab from her parents at gunpoint and sped off with her in their unmarked car. The kidnappers later called her father on phone and demanded a huge sum of money as ransom in exchange for Zeinab's release.

Though the kidnappers were eventually arrested by security forces after about eight days, Zeinab missed her Common Entrance Examinations. Through the confession of the criminals, Zeinab later realised her error, repented and surrendered her heart and tongue to Jesus.

*When a heart is dirty with sin, the tongue becomes talkative, evil and deadly. But a heart washed in the blood of Jesus produces a Holy Spirit controlled tongue of peace, comfort and blessing. Your life, heart and tongue can be cleansed today, if you bring them to Jesus in a prayer of repentance. He will wash you clean.*

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ⏤ Hebrews 10:24-25

The man who mobilizes the Christian church to pray will make the greatest contribution to world evangelization in history. ⏤ Andrew Murray

Son of God, this is Your day, and we want to dedicate it completely to You. On this day, You rose from the grave, defeating death and bringing life to the world. We thank You for Your victory. We thank You for this day, which reminds us of Your completed redemption every week.

Make this an uplifting day for us. Help us to keep it holy for You. Give us a peaceful heart. Prepare us this morning to receive the richest blessings of Your love that may come our way today. May we open our hearts wide while You pour down blessings. May the public and private reading of Your word bring us messages that enrich our lives. May Your word enter into our hearts so deeply that it purifies and sweetens all aspects of our lives. May this Sunday’s communion with You keep us close to You all day, so that the warmth of Your love fills our souls, making us more like You.

We pray for all those who will speak for You today—whether in a large congregation or in a quiet room with just a few listeners, or even by the wayside to just one soul. Bless all Sunday school teachers, missionaries, and those who bring the gospel message to prisons, hospitals, and other places of need. Give Your word power, and may it break through hardened hearts or bring comfort to those who are grieving.

May this day be a rich blessing to our home. Stay with us, keep us close, and pour Your love on us, making our lives more beautiful and preparing us to be a greater blessing to others tomorrow. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀💝🌺🎁🌹🎀 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY OCTOBER 11, 2O26. "YOU'VE GOT TO WORK AT IT!" …Well informed, quick to understand…qualifier to serve…’ Daniel 1:4 NIV WHEN NEBUCHADNEZZAR captured the Jews, he told his Chief of Staff to look for the brightest and best, and bring them to his palace. If you understand this principle, you’ll be given even more critical questions to answer, and in time, you will be the one giving the questions to others.’ Bible In A Year: 2 Sam 20:1 – 22:30, John 4:1-12, Ps 100, Pro 23:22-28. [10/10, 6:53 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* SUNDAY, 11TH OCTOBER, 2026 *THE POWER OF HUMILITY BEFORE GOD* *TEXT:* 2 KINGS 1:13–18* 13. *Timeless Truth* _Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up_ ( James 4:10) *INTRODUCTION* In 1996, during the Dunblane school tragedy in Scotland, teacher Gwen Mayor and others acted with extraordinary courage to protect children when a gunman entered the school. *1. The Danger of Pride* a. The first two captains approached Elijah with authority and command. The third captain recognized that he was standing before a representative of God. Ahaziah had already received God's Word through Elijah, yet he continued in rebellion. We must never allow our position, education, wealth, influence or accomplishments to make us feel independent of God. A person may be powerful before people, but completely powerless before God. b. The first captain said: *“Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’” — (2 Kings 1:9)* He treated God's prophet as though royal authority could override divine authority. Respect for legitimate authority is biblical, but no human authority has the right to demand disobedience to God. When human commands contradict God's Word, believers must remain faithful to God. c. The first two captains presumed that Elijah could be compelled by royal command. Presumption says, *“I can handle this without God.”* Humility says, *“Lord, I need You.”* Every believer should regularly examine his or her heart for hidden pride. *Questions* (i) Am I allowing my position, possessions, education or achievements to make me less dependent upon God? (ii) Is there an area where I am insisting on my own way instead of submitting to God's Word? *2. The Posture of Pleading* a. He pleaded: *“Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.”* He appealed to mercy rather than personal entitlement. *Questions* (i.) When confronted by crisis, is prayer my first response or my last resort? (ii) Who are the people God has placed under my influence for whom I should be interceding? *3. The Power of Prophetic Word* a. The question is not only, “What did God say?” but also, “What am I going to do about what God has said?” *Questions* (i) How do I respond when God's Word corrects something in my life? (ii) Is there any instruction from Scripture that I know of, but have been deliberately postponing obeying it? *Prayer Points* 1. Father, deliver me from every form of pride, arrogance, self-reliance and presumption. Give me a humble and teachable heart.🙏 2. Lord, teach me to seek You first whenever I face difficulties and make me faithful in prayer and intercession.🙏 3.

Amen.

He approached the man of God with utmost respect and pleaded for his life to be spared. It is no wonder that an angel of God instructed Elijah to go with the captain to King Ahaziah. By doing so, the captain demonstrated what it takes to do the will of God even within the context of an ungodly authority.* *An attitude and action of humble submission to God, even at the risk of losing a job, fortune or opportunity, has always attracted divine favour. If you ever find yourself in a situation where pleasing men, no matter how powerful, means displeasing God, adopt the obeying-God-rather-than-men option. Those who do so always turn out to be the ultimate winners.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Virtue never loses a battle.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *LUKE 22*📜📜 Humble Submission Has It https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 259: MORE LIKE THE MASTER; GHS 216: MORE ABOUT JESUS WOULD I KNOW; AND GHS 258: OH, TO BE LIKE THEE* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna11thOctober2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [10/10, 7:30 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER, 2026``` *THE ROLE OF THE GIRL-CHILD* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♀️👧🏻👩🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:PSALM 144:11-15```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace" (PSALM 144:12).*_ *"The courage, hope and determination of girls are a force to be reckoned with. It is time for the world to step up and help transform their vision and aspirations into reality," opines Antonio Guterres.* *Girls are a unique creation of God. Our memory verse refers to them as "corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace." Corner stones are needed to make a building strong to avoid collapse. Without the inputs of girls, the world will be like a building without corner stones, and it is bound to collapse.* *On this special day to reflect on the uniqueness of the girl-child, it is crucial to note that we are to collectively stamp out anti-girl-child or gendered behaviour that tend to promote hate and discrimination against girls.* *Girls are also enjoined to contribute to the growth of humanity, just as Ada Luz used music to share the message of peace and advocate for a united future in Columbia; and Julieta who mediated to resolve community disputes, promoted peace and supported children with conflict issues.* 💬 ```QUOTE:``` _*Contribute to the growth of humanity.*_ 🏆 ```CHALLENGE:``` _*Stop the discrimination against the girl-child!*_ 🙏🏽🙏🏽 ```PRAYER:``` _*Lord, I pray for all girls to attain their full potentials.*_ The Role Of The Girl-Child https://dailymanna.app// *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#HigherEveryday11thOctober2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [10/10, 7:30 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*(SINCERE MILK: Children Daily Devotional Guide 2⃣0⃣2⃣6️⃣)*_ 🙇🏼🙇🏼🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇🏼🙇‍♀️🙇🏼🙇‍♀️🙇🏼‍♂️ ```SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER, 2026``` *A DIRTY HEART BREEDS A DEADLY TONGUE* 📓📖🎚️🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🖤👅🗣️💬⚠️‼️🛑❌🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽🩸🤍🙌🏽 📜📜```MATTHEW 12:32-37```📜📜 🕔📚🖋️🚻😁🎼🏆🍉🪴🌈💻 🔑📖 ```Key Verse:``` _*"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34).*_ 📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖📖 Zeinab was a talkative and proud girl who loved to boast about her father's wealth. He will wash you clean.* 🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 ```🅿️rayer:``` _*Lord Jesus, please wash my heart with Your blood, and let my tongue speak only what pleases You, in Jesus name.*_ 🙏🏽 ```📖 Further Reading:``` *Luke 6:43-45* A Dirty Heart Breeds A Deadly Tongue https://dailymanna.app// *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#SincereMilk11thOctober2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS]. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ⏤ Hebrews 10:24-25 The man who mobilizes the Christian church to pray will make the greatest contribution to world evangelization in history. ⏤ Andrew Murray Son of God, this is Your day, and we want to dedicate it completely to You. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/07/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
