• The Advent Truth
When one church departs from Scripture, the answer isn’t to abandon God’s remnant—it is to call for repentance.

The event shown here is deeply troubling. Celebrating identities and lifestyles that Scripture calls us to surrender to Christ is not compassion, it is compromise. Dressing it up with spiritual language, rainbow symbolism, and church ceremonies does not change what God has already spoken. The church’s mission is not to affirm people in their sins, but to lovingly call every one of us, regardless of our particular struggle, to repentance, conversion, and new life in Christ.

The apostasy of one congregation or institution does not prove that the entire SDA Church is bad.

Throughout Scripture, God worked through imperfect organizations. Ancient Israel repeatedly fell into apostasy, yet God continued calling faithful believers to labor for revival from within rather than immediately abandon His covenant people. Jesus rebuked the corruption of His day more severely than anyone else, yet He still worshiped in the synagogue and temple until His nation finally rejected Him.

The SDA Church has members, pastors, churches, conferences, and institutions that are faithful, and others that are drifting. That has been true throughout church history. We should expose error wherever it appears, but we should not confuse the actions of a local church or university with the official message and beliefs of the worldwide body.

If anything, this should remind us why the Laodicean message is so urgent. Christ warned His last-day church that compromise would arise from within. The solution was not to discard the church, but to repent, heed the Laodicean Message (Revelation 3:14-22).

Pray for La Sierra University Church. Pray for every student involved. Pray for the leaders who have embraced this direction. And pray that God’s faithful people will lovingly but firmly stand on Scripture without compromise.

Truth without love is harsh. Love without truth is counterfeit. The gospel calls us to both.

  • Stop demanding that others keep the Sabbath. We are not under the law. We are under grace. Stop judaizing believers and cause them to doubt the finished work of Christ as sufficient for their salvation. Stop preaching a different gospel of works and another Jesus whose blood wasn't good enough.

Commandment keeping won't save you, and your obedience to the commandments won't keep you saved either -- only faith in Jesus can do both.

    The Church Will Not Fall.

Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18.

Those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus will feel the ire of the dragon and his hosts. Satan numbers the world as his subjects, he has gained control of the apostate churches; but here is a little company that are resisting his supremacy. If he could blot them from the earth, his triumph would be complete. As he influenced the heathen nations to destroy Israel, so in the near future he will stir up the wicked powers of earth to destroy the people of God.... Their only hope is in the mercy of God; their only defense will be prayer.

The trying experiences that came to God's people in the days of Esther were not peculiar to that age alone. The revelator, looking down the ages to the close of time, has declared, “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17. Some who today are living on the earth will see these words fulfilled.

The wrath of Satan increases as his time grows short, and his work of deceit and destruction will reach its culmination in the time of trouble.36The Faith I Live By, 289.

Satan will work his miracles to deceive; he will set up his power as supreme. The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall. It remains, while the sinners in Zion will be sifted out—the chaff separated from the precious wheat. This is a terrible ordeal, but nevertheless it must take place. None but those who have been overcoming by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony will be found with the loyal and true, without spot or stain of sin, without guile in their mouths. 37 SDA Bible Commentary 7:911.

God declares that even a mother may forget her child, “yet will I not forget thee.” ... God thinks of His children with the tenderest solicitude and keeps a book of remembrance before Him, that He may never forget the children of His care. 38 The Faith I Live By, 280.

SABBATH OBJECTIONS MADE CLEAR, WITH THE BIBLE, AND HISTORY ANSWERS.

From Eden to the New Earth, God’s Holy Day Still Stands

The Sabbath question is not about defending a denomination.
It is about honoring what God blessed, sanctified, commanded, and foretold.

“God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” — Exodus 20:8
“The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Mark 2:28
“From one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.” — Isaiah 66:23
    ---

OBJECTION 1: “The Sabbath is only Jewish.”

Answer: No. The Sabbath began in Eden before there was a Jew, Israel, Sinai, temple, priesthood, or ceremonial system.

“God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3
“The sabbath was made for man.” — Mark 2:27
“For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth… and rested the seventh day.” — Exodus 20:11

Truth: Sinai did not create the Sabbath. Sinai reminded humanity of the Sabbath.
    ---

OBJECTION 2: “Saturday Sabbath came from Pope Gregory’s calendar.”

Answer: No. Pope Gregory XIII’s calendar reform in 1582 adjusted the date numbers, not the weekly cycle. The reform omitted 10 calendar dates; Britannica notes October 4, 1582 was directly followed by October 15, 1582, to correct the drift of the equinox. Britannica’s Gregorian-calendar article explains that the day after October 5 was to become October 15, omitting 10 days. Other historical summaries state the sequence remained Thursday October 4 followed by Friday October 15, showing the weekday order was not broken.

“The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10

Truth: Gregory did not bless the seventh day. God did.
    ---

OBJECTION 3: “Saturday is pagan because it is named after Saturn.”

Answer: The English name Saturday has pagan/planetary language history; Britannica says Saturday comes from Latin Saturni dies, “day of Saturn.” But God did not command us to worship the word “Saturday.” He commanded us to keep the seventh day.

“The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10

Sunday is named after the sun. Monday after the moon. The names men attach to days do not cancel what God sanctified.

Truth: Pagan day names cannot erase God’s holy day.
    ---

OBJECTION 4: “The Sabbath is only a shadow.”

Answer: Ceremonial shadows pointed to Christ’s sacrifice, but the Sabbath was blessed before sin entered. It existed before sacrifices, priesthood, temple ceremonies, or Jewish feast systems.

“God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3
“God did rest the seventh day from all his works.” — Hebrews 4:4
“Wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” — Exodus 20:11

Truth: A day blessed before sin cannot be merely a shadow of sin.
    ---

OBJECTION 5: “Jesus is our rest, so we don’t need the Sabbath.”

Answer: Jesus is our rest—Amen. But Jesus being our rest does not erase the day He made holy. Hebrews 4 points back to God resting on the seventh day, then speaks of a rest remaining for God’s people.

“Come unto me… and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
“God did rest the seventh day from all his works.” — Hebrews 4:4
“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.” — Hebrews 4:9
“The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Mark 2:28

Truth: Christ is not the grave of the Sabbath. Christ is Lord of the Sabbath.
    ---

OBJECTION 6: “There is no night in heaven, so there can be no Sabbath.”

Answer: Revelation says there will be no night, yes. But Revelation also says the tree of life yields fruit every month. So “no night” does not mean no order, no sequence, no worship, or no sacred appointment.

“There shall be no night there.” — Revelation 22:5
“The tree of life… yielded her fruit every month.” — Revelation 22:2
“From one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me.” — Isaiah 66:23

Truth: No night means no darkness—not no divine order.
    ---

OBJECTION 7: “Isaiah 66 only means continuous worship, not Sabbath worship.”

Answer: Isaiah 66 does show universal worship, but it does so using Sabbath language in the setting of the new heavens and new earth.

“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me…” — Isaiah 66:22
“From one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.” — Isaiah 66:23

Notice the details: new heavens, new earth, all flesh, worship, from Sabbath to Sabbath.

Truth: Continual worship does not cancel appointed worship.
    ---

OBJECTION 8: “Every day is Sabbath now.”

Answer: Every day should belong to God, but every day is not the seventh day that God blessed and sanctified.

“Six days shalt thou labour… but the seventh day is the sabbath.” — Exodus 20:9–10
“God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3

If every day is the Sabbath, the commandment’s distinction between six days and the seventh day disappears.

Truth: Loving God every day does not erase the day God set apart.
    ---

    OBJECTION 9: “Sabbath-keeping is legalism.”

Answer: Obedience to earn salvation is legalism. Obedience flowing from love is faithfulness.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15
“This is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.” — 1 John 5:3
“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” — Romans 3:31

Truth: Legalism says, “I obey so God will love me.” Love says, “God loved me, so I obey.”
    ---

OBJECTION 10: “The Sabbath was abolished at the cross.”

Answer: The cross ended the sacrificial system that pointed forward to Christ, but the Bible never says the Ten Commandments were abolished. Revelation describes God’s final people as those who keep God’s commandments and have the faith of Jesus.

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law.” — Matthew 5:17
“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid.” — Romans 3:31
“Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12

Truth: The cross did not make rebellion holy. It made obedience the fruit of love.
    ---

OBJECTION 11: “Colossians 2 says don’t judge about sabbath days.”

Answer: Colossians 2 speaks of shadows connected with meat, drink, holy days, new moons, and sabbath days. But the weekly Sabbath is rooted in Creation and written in the Ten Commandments. Ceremonial shadows must not be used to erase Creation’s memorial.

“Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” — Colossians 2:17
“God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” — Exodus 20:8

Truth: Do not use ceremonial shadows to erase Creation light.
    ---

OBJECTION 12: “Romans 14 says any day is fine.”

Answer: Romans 14 discusses doubtful matters, eating, and personal observances. It does not mention the Sabbath commandment or cancel the fourth commandment.

“Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.” — Romans 14:1
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” — Exodus 20:8

Truth: A chapter on doubtful matters cannot erase a command written by God.
    ---

OBJECTION 13: “Jesus broke the Sabbath.”

Answer: Jesus never broke God’s Sabbath. He broke Pharisaic traditions and showed the Sabbath’s true purpose: mercy, healing, worship, and doing good.

“It is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.” — Matthew 12:12
“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.” — Mark 2:27
“The Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” — Mark 2:28

Truth: Jesus did not destroy the Sabbath. He rescued it from legalism.
    ---

OBJECTION 14: “History does not support Saturday as the seventh day.”

Answer: Even non-SDA historical references recognize the Sabbath as the seventh day. Britannica says the Jewish Sabbath is observed on the seventh day of the week—Saturday—and commemorates the original seventh day on which God rested after creation. Britannica also describes the Sabbath as a day of holiness and rest observed from sunset Friday to nightfall the following day.

“The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:10

Truth: The seventh-day Sabbath did not begin with Adventists. It began with God.
    ---

OBJECTION 15: “The final issue is not the Sabbath.”

Answer: Revelation’s final message calls the world back to worship the Creator. That language directly echoes the Sabbath commandment.

“Worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” — Revelation 14:7
“For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is.” — Exodus 20:11
“Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12

Truth: The final issue is worship, authority, loyalty, and obedience. The Sabbath is the memorial of the Creator.
    ---

  • THE ADVENT TRUTH

“Ellen White did NOT start the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”

That statement will surprise some people — because many have been taught a version of history that isn’t true. But here’s the real story:

The SDA Church did not begin with a single founder. It emerged from a global, Scripture-based movement following the Great Disappointment of 1844. Believers from different backgrounds — farmers, teachers, preachers, teenagers, men and women — returned to their Bibles with deeper hunger, determined: Let God be the authority, not tradition.

Ellen G. White was one pioneer among many, including names like James White, Joseph Bates, J.N. Andrews, Uriah Smith, and others. They studied together, prayed together, and compared every idea with Scripture. Ellen White’s prophetic gift helped guide the movement — but she never claimed to be the leader, founder, boss, or pope of anything. If anything, she consistently pointed AWAY from herself and back toward Jesus and the Bible.

It wasn’t her idea to name the church.
It wasn’t her idea to formally organize a denomination.
It wasn’t her idea to choose doctrines.

Everything was done collectively — through committees, votes, Bible study, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

    In fact, Ellen White wrote:

“The Bible, and the Bible alone, is our rule of faith and practice.” (GC 595)

Those who try to say Ellen White started the SDA Church usually want to dismiss the entire message by attacking the messenger. But the truth is: the Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded upon the teachings of Scripture — the Sabbath, the Second Coming, the state of the dead, the sanctuary, the gospel — long before Ellen White wrote on those subjects.

She didn’t create new doctrines. She confirmed biblical ones that God was already revealing through His Word.

    So let’s be clear:
    The movement is God-led.
    The foundation is Jesus Christ.
    The authority is Scripture.

Ellen White simply helped point us back to it.
THE ADVENT TRUTH “Ellen White did NOT start the Seventh-day Adventist Church.” That statement will surprise some people — because many have been taught a version of history that isn’t true. But here’s the real story: The SDA Church did not begin with a single founder. 🔹 It wasn’t her idea to name the church. 🔹 It wasn’t her idea to formally organize a denomination. 🔹 It wasn’t her idea to choose doctrines. Everything was done collectively — through committees, votes, Bible study, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. In fact, Ellen White wrote: “The Bible, and the Bible alone, is our rule of faith and practice.” (GC 595) Those who try to say Ellen White started the SDA Church usually want to dismiss the entire message by attacking the messenger. So let’s be clear: The movement is God-led. The foundation is Jesus Christ. The authority is Scripture. Ellen White simply helped point us back to it.

  • THE ADVENT TRUTH
    Satan studies prophecy too.

He knew the 2300-year prophecy of Daniel 8:14 was nearing its end in the mid-1800s, and history shows a pattern:
Before a major time prophecy begins → God raises a prophet.
Before it ends → God raises a prophet again to announce the transition.

    Before the Flood — Noah
    Before Israel’s 70 years — Jeremiah
Before the 490 years — John the Baptist
And as the 2300 years were closing (1798–1844) — God again raised a prophetic voice.

But Satan wasn’t going to sit back and let the world wake up. He launched counterfeit movements right at the same time to distract from the real message and the real people God was raising.

    * Mormonism begins — 1830
    * Millerite movement stirring — 1830s–40s
    * Charles Taze Russell born — 1852 (later Jehovah’s Witnesses)

Right in the middle of this confusion, God raised a young woman who had no money, no influence, no education… but Heaven chose her to help with God’s last-day movement:
Ellen G. White and God’s remnant church — Seventh-day Adventists.

Satan threw everything he could at her:
    * Character attacks
    * Fake scandals
    * And yes — accusations of plagiarism

I have a video in my SDA playlist specifically dealing with the plagiarism accusation.

And let’s address another common accusation:
Did Ellen White have failed prophecies?
No. She had conditional prophecies — just like Jonah about Nineveh or God’s warnings to ancient Israel — where the outcome changed based on the response. Conditional ≠ failed.

Why all the attacks? Because Satan knows:
    The Three Angels’ Messages
    * The judgment hour
    * The Sabbath
    * The final deception unmasked
    …all go hand-in-hand with God’s end-time prophet and His end-time people.

This message is not popular — but it is present truth.
God isn’t raising a new prophet. He already gave one.
The question is: Are we listening?

  • Chapter 40 The Leopard Beast

We have looked at the scarlet beast, and the dragon. The third of these cohorts that have ten horns and seven heads is the leopard beast of the first half of Rev 13. It is also referred to as the composite beast because it has features of several animals:

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

The three animals that this beast is comprised of happen to be the first three beasts of Dan 7. This indicates a clear connection between the prophecies of Dan 7 and that of the first half of Rev 13. In our alternative interpretation of prophecy, we saw that the leopard represents Europe (chapter 28), the bear the communist regimes of Russia and China (chapter 26) and the lion with eagle wings the alliance between Britain and the USA (chapter 25). We also saw that the fourth beast represented the New World Order, yet to be set up (chapter 31). I want to suggest that this composite beast also represents the New World Order, supplying us with different details. In Dan 7 the focus was on the horns, and we suggested that the horns represented modern religious movements. Here we focus on the composition of this beast.

The beast is a leopard and is therefore situated in and governed from Europe. The headquarters of the Papacy is in Europe, at the heart of Rome. The Papacy in conjunction with the Jesuits is the governing force in the New World Order. The woman in purple and scarlet (the Papacy) sits on top of the scarlet beast (the Jesuit Order) in Rev 17 (chapter 35).

This leopard beast has feet of the bear. The communist systems were and in China still is very repressive. People enjoy few freedoms. It was worse in Russia before 1991. The New World Order will be the same, and even worse. There will be surveillance all over. Computers will keep track of every single citizen all the time (as in China today). People will be afraid to make one false move. The citizens of the New World Order will be controlled by fear.

It has the mouth of a lion. The lingua franca of the New World Order is English (also spoken in America).

Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

We have already discussed how the heads of the three cohorts of Revelation are associated with the leopard beast (chapter 37). This leopard beast is the New World Order, and is also the Papacy. Quite clearly, as shown in verse 4, this beast is not just a religion, but is also a political power where it asks the question: “Who is able to make war with him?” The Vatican will be in charge of the political world just as it was during the Dark Ages. It is also important to note that the dragon, Satan, empowers this regime. Satan is, and has been in charge of the Vatican for centuries, and especially so at the end of time.

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

The New World Order will come into being, and operate during the 3.5 years that span the period between the outpouring of the Latter Rain and the Close of Probation. The Papacy will claim divine right as they have always done, and more so in this end-time regime. It claims the right to give salvation to whom it pleases and to make saints of whom it pleases, blaspheming against God and His Son and the occupants of God’s heavenly realm. Papal doctrines claim that the saints are in heaven, and that Mary is alive and in heaven. This is a misrepresentation of those that are in heaven.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Who allows him to make war with the saints? God allows because He is ultimately in control, but Satan the dragon empowers the Papacy (verse 2). It is Satan that inspires the Papacy to make war – persecute – Gods children, the saints. Today it is Satan that inspires the SDA church to disfellowship any member that does not believe in the Trinity. It is Satan that is engineering the unification of the whole world under the New World Order. It is Satan that inspires the European leaders and sometimes the USA to perpetuate the losing war against Russia, because the outcome of this war impoverishes Europe and the USA, necessary requirements to set up the New World Order.
Everybody throughout the World will bow to the New World Order and the Papacy, that is except if you are God’s elect. God knew from before creation who His elect are and their names are written in the Book of Life from before creation. God does not predestine His elect, He simply has a perfect foreknowledge.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

When Christ or God says: “He that hath an ear, let him hear,” it means, “pay close attention, for this is very important. It pertains to life and death issues as far as salvation is concerned.” God is telling us here not to get involved with the politics and the wars of the nations today. The aim of war and politics today is to set up the New World Order. We are wasting our time and energy when we get involved. Are you pro-Trump, or do you hate him. He was groomed to look like he will save the USA from the Democrats who were destroying the USA. He made promises to stop the wars. He has not. All of this is part of a choreographed game to divide and conquer. Trump was trained at a Jesuit University. The war in the Ukraine was also planned at the expense of 1.8 million Ukrainians and 120 000 Russians. Ukraine feeds many countries with its grains and the aim is to starve the world so that the New World Order, promising to save everyone, will be welcomed by the populace of the world. DON’T GET INVOLVED.

We are rapidly approaching the fulfilment and completion of the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation. We are entering a period that is said to be the most difficult the world has ever known, and will ever know (Matt 24:21). The only way to survive this period of time is by being God’s elect (Matt 24:24). Survival does not mean physical survival, but rather spiritual survival. Satan will do his uttermost to break the bonds we have with God. Our prayer must be that God will protect our relationship with Him against the wiles of Satan, and against ourselves. Do you love God more than you love yourself? It is time to renew our commitments to God. Pray for His protection, and pray also for your fellow saints trudging this pathway of thorns.

God bless you and keep you.

  • The Media Calls for a Weekly Day of Rest with No Work, and No Shopping.
Blue Dot Living, an online magazine focused on sustainable living and environmental protection, published an article on December 29, 2025, calling for the establishment of a weekly day of rest for both people and the planet, giving examples of how Sunday is being set aside in different communities for rest and family time. The ideas expressed in the article show how society is being conditioned—step by step—to accept a mandated weekly day of rest.

Blue Dot Living expressed the following:

    • “If you’re like Dot, you surely need a rest. So let me share with you some wonderful news. The best thing we can do the planet just might be … nothing. Nothing? Nothing! Jonathan Schorsch is urging all of us to join him in the Green Sabbath Project, a mass movement to observe a weekly day of rest, a modern version of what the ancients practiced: No work, no driving or flying, no scrolling our phones or anything technology, no shopping, no building. Instead, walk, sing, play. Eat with friends, food prepared ahead of time. Gather in community. Rest.” [1]

    • “This isn’t necessarily about God or religion, insists Schorsch, ‘it is merely common-sense self-care for oneself and our planetary home.’ And it just might help ease the strain on our planet, something we’re already seeing around the world. On Sundays, Mexico City allows tens of thousands of bicyclists, skateboarders, rollerbladers, parents, kids, and other pedestrians to take over more than a 30-mile area around the city’s historic district. Bogotá, Colombia, has similarly introduced car-free Sundays that the population savors, while England’s Playing Out program gives the streets back to parents and children for play.” [1]

    • “It is not just humans who need rest. Our Earth cries out for it, too. As Schorsch puts it, ‘A green Sabbath restores Shabbat to its original intention of commemorating the creation of the world.” [1]

Blue Dot Living insists that a weekly day of rest “has nothing to do with God or religion,” but rather with self-care, well-being, and environmental healing. This type of reasoning redefines the Sabbath as a humanitarian and ecological tool, making it more appealing to the general public and reducing the likelihood of resistance to this proposal. This is how the world is being prepared to accept Sunday as the official day of rest: first, by disconnecting the Sabbath from the Word of God and presenting it as a matter of “common sense.”

At the same time, a collective, synchronized day of rest, Sunday, is being normalized. The language emphasizes a “mass movement,” “gathering in community,” and “weekly day of rest.” This represents social participation. The article then gives samples about how this can play out in society through Sunday street closures, Sunday car-free events, and Sunday community gatherings. Essentially, Sunday is being elevated as the day when commerce stops, movement is restricted, and collective rest is encouraged. This call is describing a return to Sunday laws, but stripped of explicit religious language. However, the objective remains the same: to establish Sunday as the default day of rest without direct reference to religion.

Truly, society is becoming accustomed to seeing Sunday as an obvious and practical day for rest. The problem is that Sabbath can never be separated from God or detached from His Word, because it was instituted by God Himself and defined by His command (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11). From creation, God sanctified and blessed the seventh day, Saturday, as the memorial of His creative power and sovereignty. In the Ten Commandments, God did not invite men to pick and choose their own day; He clearly identified “the seventh day” as His holy Sabbath, set apart by divine command, not human tradition.

Any attempt to redefine the Sabbath as a personal or secular concept—whether for cultural or environmental reasons—strips it of its biblical meaning. Substituting Sunday in place of the true day of worship is an attempt to change the commandments of God. It shifts authority from God to human authority—from the Word of God to the traditions of men. These developments are helping to fulfill the long-standing biblical warning that Sunday will be imposed as the day of rest and worship. In time, economic and social pressure will be applied, and this movement will ultimately culminate into the mark of the beast crisis.

“But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:9. #sda #adventist #adventista

  • Chapter 1 New Light

Ellen White said that the foundational pillars of the SDA church would not change, but she also said that there would be new light toward the end of time, especially with respect to prophecy. There are several such statements, but here is one:

"We are to know more than we do at the present time. We are to comprehend the deep things of God. There are themes to be dwelt upon which are worthy of more than a passing notice. Angels have desired to look into the truths which are revealed to the people who are searching God's Word and with contrite hearts praying for wisdom, for greater lengths and breadths and heights of that knowledge which God alone can give. . . . as we near the closing scenes of this earth's history still more wonderful representations will be made. We need to study the Scriptures with humble, contrite hearts. Those who will devote their powers to the study of God's Word, and especially the prophecies referring to these last days, will be rewarded by the discovery of important truths." (Ms 75, 1899, pp. 4,5. [Untitled Manuscript, May 11, 1899] -- may be found as Manuscript release #54 in Manuscript Releases, Vol. 1, pp. 195-196).

I would like to share what I discovered while doing a systematic study of Revelation from 1996 to 2003. I took every word in Revelation (except articles – “a” and “the,” and conjunctions – “and” and “but”), grouping them together for comparison. I was in search of chiasms in Revelation, because Strand showed that Revelation was designed with major chiasms. I discovered new concepts, which I rejected at first, but when they kept coming back and being reinforced, as I continued on this project, I had to accept them. These are what I would like to share.

My springboard in my study of Revelation was my Adventist understanding of the prophecies, but I laid aside EG White (She said she was the lesser light leading to the Greater), and used the Bible and the Bible only.

It is also important to consider the origins and foundation of the Adventist understanding of prophecy. When William Miller preached about the Advent, he had used his understanding of the prophecy of Dan 8:14 to set the Second Coming of Jesus to be in 1843 first, but then corrected the timeline by a year, setting it to the Jewish Day of Atonement on 22 October, 1844. Christ did not come on that date, and the Adventists had to reconsider the meaning of that prophecy. Hiram Edson came up with the concept that Christ had entered the Heavenly Sanctuary on that day. With the prior concept of the Advent taking place in 1844, Miller and the Adventists, while studying their Bibles, had to find fulfilment for all prophecy in history. Many prophecies were given symbolic meaning to have their fulfilment in the past. For example the Seven Trumpets of Rev 8 represented conflicts in and around Europe in history. Objects falling from the sky represented armies and battles.

Since 1844, Adventists have not changed the understanding of the fulfilment of prophecy much. Bringing into the equation the fact that 181 years have passed since the Great Disappointment, and we are still here because Jesus has still not come, it is expedient to reconsider the meaning of the prophecies. This is what I have done, and I have found new meaning, better continuity, and less symbolic more literal meaning to some of these prophecies.

In the ensuing chapters, I will show you what I have been led to understand while I researched Revelation. Please keep an open mind and carefully, prayerfully and logically follow what I have to share. May God bless you as you go with me on this journey.
Chapter 1 New Light Ellen White said that the foundational pillars of the SDA church would not change, but she also said that there would be new light toward the end of time, especially with respect to prophecy. There are several such statements, but here is one: "We are to know more than we do at the present time. • THE SDA BIBLICAL TRINITY, AND THE CATHOLIC TRINITY, ARE VERY DIFFERENT.
Why The Seventh-day Adventist Teaching Is Distinct, Scriptural, And Spirit Of Prophecy–Supported

A small group within Adventism claims that the Trinity held by the church today is “Catholic,” “apostate,” or “a late invention.” These accusations misunderstand both history and doctrine. The biblical doctrine of the Godhead embraced by Adventists is not borrowed from Catholicism, nor is it a recent adoption, but is fully rooted in Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy. Far from opposing it, Ellen White helped establish the very understanding Adventists hold today.

The confusion arises largely because early Adventist pioneers rejected the Catholic doctrine of the Trinity, not the biblical doctrine.

The traditional Catholic model encompasses several philosophical components that are not taught in Scripture. They teach:
The Son is “eternally generated” from the Father.
The Holy Spirit “proceeds” from the Father and the Son.
The Godhead is defined in terms of Greek philosophical concepts such as substance, hypostasis, and procession, formed by post-biblical councils.
The Catholic Trinity is understood through creeds and philosophical tradition, not through Scripture alone.

The Adventist understanding comes directly from Scripture, not from creeds or philosophy. The SDA Church teaches:
    Three Distinct Eternal Persons.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. exist from eternity and act in perfect unity.
Jesus Is Not Derived or Created.
He is fully divine and self-existent:
“In Christ is life, original, unborrowed, underived.” —Desire of Ages

    Scripture affirms:
John 1:1–3 – “In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God.”
Hebrews 1:8 – “But unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy kingdom.”

The Holy Spirit Is a Personal, Divine Being:
“The Holy Spirit is a person, for He beareth witness with our spirits.”
“He is as much a person as God is a person.” —Evangelism

Jesus described the Spirit as Teacher and Comforter (John 14:16–17, 26).
Peter declared the Spirit to be God (Acts 5:3–4). The Adventist Trinity is therefore thoroughly biblical, not philosophical.

The Bible consistently reveals three divine Persons:
    Father – Matthew 6:9
    Son – John 1:1, 14; Hebrews 1:8
    Spirit – Acts 5:3–4; 2 Corinthians 3:17

There are Scriptures where all three appear together:
    Creation – Genesis 1:1–2; John 1:1–3
    Christ’s Baptism – Matthew 3:16–17
The Great Commission – Matthew 28:19
Intercession – Romans 8 shows Father, Son, and Spirit all working together

The biblical evidence is overwhelming, three Persons, one God. Contrary to anti-Trinitarian claims, Ellen White never taught any of the following:
    That Jesus had a beginning.
That the Holy Spirit was an impersonal force.
That the pioneers’ earliest views were the final truth.

Instead, she repeatedly affirmed the eternal Godhead:
    Christ’s Eternal Self-Existence
“In Christ is life, original, unborrowed, underived.”
“From eternity there was a complete unity between the Father and the Son.” —Signs of the Times

Ellen White spoke of the Holy Spirit’s personality, acknowledging that He is a person:
“The Holy Spirit is a person… as much a person as God is a person.” —Evangelism

“There are three living persons of the heavenly trio… the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” —Evangelism

These statements form the foundation of the Adventist understanding today. Ellen White did not oppose the Trinity; she clarified and defended it.

It is true that several pioneers, James White, Joseph Bates, and Uriah Smith, held non-Trinitarian views early on. But the reasons have been distorted. Their rejection was based on Catholic tradition, not the SDA biblical foundation held today.

    They opposed:
    Eternal generation
    Procession of the Spirit
    Creeds as authority
Their rejection was really anti-Catholic ideologies, not anti-Trinity itself. Also, for them, truth did not arrive all at once. Like the early disciples, their understanding grew progressively. Ellen White corrected their misunderstandings. As more light came, pioneers surrendered earlier views. This is precisely how God leads a prophetic movement.

The pioneers held Sunday traditions before learning the Sabbath. They held age-of-the-earth errors. They held wrong prophetic interpretations. So they also had wrong views of the Godhead.

The pioneers were growing. Their early views were not the final truth. So, using pioneer quotes as a doctrinal authority directly contradicts the Spirit of Prophecy.
That is the fundamental mistake some people keep making. While they accuse the church of adopting Catholic teachings, they are themselves behaving like Catholics. They want to hold on to beliefs because, traditionally, that was what was believed in the past.

Adventism is a movement, and movements grow in truth. Scripture repeatedly teaches that God’s truth unfolds progressively:
Proverbs 4:18 – “The path… shines more and more unto the perfect day.”
Luke 2:52 – Even Jesus grew in wisdom.
1 Corinthians 3:1–2 – First milk, then meat.
1 Peter 2:2 – Grow by the Word.

Those who insist that doctrines must remain exactly as pioneers believed are repeating the error of Protestants who stopped advancing after the Reformation.
A movement that stops growing becomes a monument.

Ellen White warned against freezing doctrine at the pioneer level. She wrote:
“We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible.” —Selected Messages

“Those who think they will never have to give up a cherished view will be disappointed.”

This applies powerfully to the Godhead discussion. The pioneers were not infallible; only Scripture is.

    In Conclusion:
    1. The biblical Trinity taught by Adventists is not the Catholic Trinity. It rejects Catholic philosophical ideas and rests entirely on Scripture.

    2. Ellen White fully supported three co-eternal, co-equal divine Persons.
Her clearest statements match the doctrine taught today.

    3. Early pioneers’ rejection of the Trinity was based on the Catholic version, not the biblical truth taught by Adventists today.

    4. Adventism must continue advancing in light. The Spirit leads into deeper truth, not backward into discarded errors.

    5. The Trinity embraced by Adventists today is biblical, Spirit of Prophecy–affirmed, and God-revealed, not borrowed from Rome.

The Trinity is not a departure from Adventism; it is the completion and refinement of the light God gave His last-day movement.
