  • TODAY'S WORD
    Text: Isaiah 40:31
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

    MESSAGE: RENEWED FOR THE RACE
The last days are tiring. Many are weary. But God has not called you to run dry.

    1. STRENGTHENING:
Waiting on God is not wasting time. It’s refueling. When you pray, worship, and sit in His Word, He puts new strength in you. Like an eagle, you’ll rise above the storms.

    2. ENCOURAGING:
You will NOT faint. You will NOT quit. The same God who sustained you at St. Joseph P.3-P.7 will sustain you at Parents Joy P.1-P.4. He does not grow tired Isaiah 40:28.

    3. SANCTIFICATION:
To "wait on the Lord" means to set yourself apart from distractions and fix your eyes on Him Hebrews 12:1-2. Sanctification is choosing His presence over panic, His peace over pressure.

    PRAYER:
Father, I wait on You today. Renew my strength. Lift me on eagles’ wings. Help me to run this race and not grow weary, and to walk in holiness until Jesus comes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage one another and build each other up.”

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Today looks to be a potentially soggy day again. I checked the weather on my phone and it was a muddy puddle. This brings me to my funny story for you today.

Yesterday, my husband and I had a meeting with our VA lawyer in a new town. Because of all the storms and flooding issues, the crowd was much smaller. We actually got to ask a couple of questions when we sat down with him. We did not feel rushed. As good as that was, it was not the highlight of the trip. While waiting for our turn, we met some new friends. Two of which just happened to be authors. One of which just happens to run a podcast. Hmmm. Any thoughts on why we went to ‘this’ meeting with the lawyer and not the meeting place? I wonder if Someone knew who we were going to meet.

One of these two individuals’ spouses has memory issues. The other is applying for their survivor’s benefits with the lawyer’s help. I wonder Who designed this meeting?

Since I have been retired, I have been hyper-focused on making sure that I take care of my husband and keep his medical stuff straight and on track. I have been hyper-focused on keeping our lives as smooth as possible. So hyper-focused that when my littles from across the pond arrived, I was not the fun American grandma. I was grumpy grandma. That changed yesterday.

On our way home from the lawyer, I was thinking about all this rain, the flooding, and then I thought about the muddy puddles in my yard. I decided on the way home that we were going to play in the muddy puddles. God gave them to us, why not play in them? So, when I got home, I changed into shorts, kicked off my shoes, and challenged the grandkids to a splash fest. I do not know how long we played, but we all needed showers when it was over with … and that is after washing off with the garden hose. I even got the other grandma to play in the muddy puddle. We all were muddy puddle winners.

Too often, the enemy gets grown-ups to think they have to be adults all the time. When in fact, Jesus tells us that we are to come to Him as children. In all these storms, there have been ugly skies, so dancing in the rain has not been possible … however … splashing in the muddy puddles … well now, that is an awesome stress reliever.

Today is His day. Today we are going to his house to worship him, whether in a church or a prayer closet. Today we are going to thank Him for his blessings and for the trials. Today, we give God the glory and enter His presence as children. Will you join me on the heavenly playground of muddy puddles?

    Be blessed.

**And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:3-4

  • It is indeed a blessed thing to trust in the Lord whole-heartedly and make Him our confidant.
Firstly, those of us who have made the Lord our trust are Firmly rooted in Him, and the storms of life can never uproot us.

Secondly, there is nothing we need Fear or be anxious about because the Lord we trust in is powerful, and He gives us courage to face every challenge that comes our way.

Thirdly, even in the most trying seasons of our lives we will be Fruitful , and a blessing to others.

Have a blessed day, and let's lean on the everlasting arms of God, knowing we will never ever be disappointed.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

I do not recall the last year when we had so many storms pound us one right after the other. I am thinking it was the early 2000’s or so. Mind you, my memory is not the best and I was working a lot after 2003, so my time frame could be off. In the last week alone, it feels like we have been handed a new and severe storm each day. Mowing is all but out of the question, though the grass is green and full … and high.

I told you about my drive to the airport and how much ‘fun’ it was. Last night we had another very loud and very powerful storm come through our area, during which my dog decided to have a panic attack in the midst of it, which of course woke me up. In her defense, the storm and my overactive imagination had already stirred me, so it was not like I was sound asleep. However, I called her over to my side of the bed and we had an ‘its okay’ pet and conversation as the storm made its way through the noisy and scary part. This morning, she is in my office with me as another part of this storm party is making its way through.

Her reaction to the storms reminded me of myself. As powerful and influential storms pass through my life, sometimes they are intimidating enough to send me into an internal panic attack. (Rarely are they visible to anyone other than those closest to me because of my pride…just being honest.) Last night, as I calmed my dog, I felt the Holy Spirit remind me that what I was doing to settle her down, He did/does for me. A simple, yet effective, visual aid to remind me that I am not alone in my storms. All I need to do is put my eyes and my faith in the One who has everything under control.

Last night, when my dog came to my side of the bed for comfort, she knew that I would not let anything happen to her. She felt soothing and calm begin almost instantly. After a few minutes of reassurance and light, loving pets, she returned to her bed on the floor and slept the rest of the night. This is the peace that the Holy Spirit brings to us in our storms … if we truly believe and trust that He is the one who will not allow anything to hurt/happen to us. Just before the first big thunder cracker hit, my overactive imagination had already begun; the Holy Spirit sent my dog to me for comfort, to release my mind from the internal chaos I was building and to place my focus on Him. It worked. My focus changed to soothing the dog and my anxiety went down tremendously, so then I could get back to sleep.

The Trinity is a powerful tool in our arsenal against our daily battles. God created us. Jesus died for us. The Holy Spirit holds us close in times of struggle to remind us of our value to the first two. Leaning on Them, is the only way to truly release the demons of our mind and regain our peace. Peter had faith to step out of the boat, but allowed his eyes to see the storm, so he sank … but … he called out for the One who was on the water with him and reached for His hand. When we start focusing on the storms, we lose sight of the One who saved us in the first place, but when we call out … He is there.

Today, as the storms of life push through, keep your eyes focused on the One who will hold you close and protect you. Invite Him to come sit and cuddle with you as your storm passes. The comfort you receive is unimaginable and beautifully felt.

    Be blessed.

** “Come.” He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. – Matthew 14:29-31a

THEME: THE WEIGHT OF COVENANT I

    AUTHOR: PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

MEMORISE: "My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips." Psalm 89:34

    READ: Genesis 17:1-8
1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

    MESSAGE:
In today's Bible reading, God made a covenant with Abram and promised to make him a father of many nations, then changed his name to Abraham. God never lies, so all the promises that He made to Abraham were fulfilled. Numbers 23:19 says: "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" When God makes a covenant with a person, He always fulfils His part, and this gives the fellow access to everything he or she will ever need on earth. These things include long life, prosperity, favour, blessings, joy, peace, divine health, and everything good. The devil, on the other hand, is unable to keep any covenant he makes. He breaks his promises at will because he is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).

People often enter into covenants with other parties to receive something from them, while also giving something in return. The real weight of a covenant, however, comes when one of the parties involved is unable to fulfil their obligations. In most cases, a heavy weight of death is the consequence for breaking a covenant.

When people join secret societies, they enter into covenants. When they do not do the things they are asked to do in the group, the penalty is usually death. You might be asking yourself, "Why would anybody want to join a cult knowing that it could lead to their death?" Some people claim that they join secret societies because they need protection, while others say that it is for prosperity and other benefits. It is important to note that the devil lures them into such societies with the promise of those things, but in return, he takes their souls and destroys them. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul (Matthew 16:26)? A soul is too heavy a weight for anyone to surrender to the devil.

Beloved, do not allow the devil to tempt you into establishing an evil covenant with empty promises, and if you have entered into any covenant with hell and signed a pact with satan, Jesus can set you free if you run to Him. He will not cast away anyone who comes to Him (John 6:37). I pray that the Lord will establish His covenant of peace with you and your household, in Jesus' name.

    KEY POINT:
Any covenant that is made with the devil is based on lies.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
    Jeremiah 33-36

HYMN 11: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING
1 Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

    Chorus:
    Standing, standing,
    Standing on the promises of God my Saviour;
    Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

3 Standing on the promises I now can see
    Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

4 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5 Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Saviour as my All in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

How much do you truly trust God?

Oh, pop quiz this morning. How much do you sincerely trust Him?

Now, I know that everyone is going to immediately jump up and say with everything and always. But … I want you to think deeply about this question. As always, I have a reason for it. When you get scared. When things fall apart. When something goes sideways. When a negative surprises you. Do you always run to Him first?

Personally, I usually have a tantrum first, then I go to Him. I think this is how it is with most people. It seems, or it feels like what be the norm. At least from my perspective. I could be wrong. But anywho…

Yesterday I had a challenge where I did not panic or throw a tantrum, I actually prayed over the situation, through the situation, and in the finality of the situation. Where I live, we have been hammered with storm after storm, after storm. Yesterday, I had to drive to the airport to get my littles from over the pond. On the way to the airport, I had to drive a high-roof van through one of those storms. The wind was vicious. Corn was laying down. A tree was still rooted and trying to lay down. I could feel the intense wind trying to take the van over on its side. I had visions of the van flipping over because the gusts were massive. When I drove my little car in storms like this, I would just envision the wind picking up the car and placing it in the nearest field… smack dab in the middle of course. Yesterday, I wondered if the van was going over. But … even in the middle of those thoughts, that terrifying experience, I was calm; I was at peace in my core. I started reciting the 23rd Psalm. I started praying for protection. I released my control (metaphorically) of the vehicle and situation and asked Him to carry us through. He did. On the highway to the airport, the lines that separated the lanes disappeared. That was scary, but He kept the van in the lane it was supposed to be in.

I have driven in or been in many harrowing experiences, but never had I stopped my brain activity to stay safe and invited Him in to keep me safe. I always just trusted in my instincts. Then gave glory to Him at the end, but in the moment, to actually rely on Him and His presence and His power … real-time possibility of danger and harm … and release that fear and anxiety … was mesmerizing.

He does lead my life, and until yesterday, I thought every aspect of it; however, yesterday proved that there was an area that I still had control of … until I didn’t. I am so thankful that I released that fear to Him. I am a strong woman. I am a faithful woman. I am a diligent servant of the Holy Spirit, at least I try to be. But sometimes my pride in my own strength gets in the way of my growth. Yesterday, I grew. Yesterday, I felt what it was like to truly trust Him in a harrowing process.

How much do you trust Him?

A valid question to search your innermost core. Before you jump up and say all the Christiany things … ask Him to show you those areas that you are still keeping Him at arm’s length. Ask Him to show you how to lower those walls and move forward. There is no shame in admitting you still seek control. There is no guilt in admitting you have not released it all. There is only growth. Do not let the enemy tell you otherwise. For me to share a vulnerable moment publicly is a miracle in itself. I know that I have more areas that I need to work on, with His guidance. I will not allow the enemy to rob me of one inch of His grace. Will you join me on this journey?

    Be blessed.

    Rooted, Built Up, and Overflowing

    Colossians 2:6–7 (AMP)
“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him [demonstrating your faith in Him and following His example], having been deeply rooted in Him and now being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly established in your faith... and overflowing in it with gratitude.”

Receiving Jesus is not the end of our journey—it is the beginning.

Paul reminds us that just as we received Christ by faith, we are called to walk in Him every day. Walking with Jesus means allowing Him to shape our thoughts, decisions, relationships, and priorities. It means choosing His ways even when our feelings or circumstances tell us otherwise.

A strong Christian life is like a tree. Roots determine stability. When the roots grow deep, the tree can withstand storms. In the same way, when we are deeply rooted in Christ, difficult seasons may come, but they don't have to destroy our faith.

Then Paul says we are to be built up in Him. God is continually working in us—strengthening our character, increasing our faith, and teaching us to trust Him more. You don't have to have everything figured out today. Keep growing. Keep praying. Keep learning His Word. Keep following Jesus.

    And what is the result?

    Gratitude.
When we recognize how faithful God has been, thanksgiving begins to overflow from our hearts. Gratitude changes our perspective. Instead of focusing only on what is missing, we begin to see how much God has already given us.

Today, make the decision to stay rooted in Christ. Let His Word nourish you, His presence strengthen you, and His love establish you.
You may face storms, but deep roots can keep you standing.

    Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to walk closely with You every day. Root me deeply in Your Word and build my faith stronger and stronger. When storms come, help me remain firmly planted in You. Teach me to trust You, follow Your example, and live with a heart overflowing with gratitude. May my life reflect Your goodness wherever I go. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    Today’s Reminder
Stay rooted in Christ, keep growing in faith, and let gratitude overflow from your heart.

THE 2 GREATEST OBSTACLES TO GROWING IN THE LORD: DISCOURAGEMENT & FEAR

The journey of walking with God is deeply rewarding, yet every believer faces moments where progress feels stalled. When we examine Scripture and human experience, discouragement and fear emerge as the two primary obstacles that paralyze our spiritual growth. Understanding how these forces operate—and how God addresses them—is essential for moving forward.
    1. Discouragement: The Loss of Heart…
Loss of heart refers to a deep state of emotional, mental, or spiritual exhaustion where a person loses their courage, hope, and drive to keep going. It is the moment when inner strength gives way to despair, leaving you feeling completely defeated and wanting to give up. In a biblical context, it often describes the spirit becoming heavy or discouraged—losing confidence in God's promises, timing, or presence amid ongoing trials. "Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day." — 2 Corinthians 4:16 (NASB). Paul acknowledges that suffering is real, but it doesn't have the final say. Discouragement comes when we measure our lives solely by what is fading.
Discouragement targets our perspective. It tells us that our efforts are futile, that God has forgotten us, or that our current trial will never end. It distorts reality by magnified shadows, trapping us in a cycle of despair that blinds us to His past faithfulness and robs us of the joy and purpose God has actively set before us for today. In Nehemiah 4:10, as the Israelites rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls, they confessed, "The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubble that we cannot build the wall." Notice what stopped them: physical fatigue and the overwhelming clutter around them.
When we focus on the "rubble" of our circumstances rather than God's power, weariness sets in. The overwhelming weight of daily struggles obscures His promises, draining our passion and clouding our spiritual vision. Left unchecked, this focus turns temporary hardships into permanent barriers, convincing us that forward progress is completely out of reach. The Apostle Paul knew this danger, warning us in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Discouragement tempts us to quit just before the breakthrough. To overcome it, we must anchor our hope in God’s unfailing word, remembering Psalm 42:11: "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my savior and my God."
    2. Fear: The Loss of Trust…
While discouragement shrinks our hope, fear grips our faith. Fear isolates us, convincing us that God is absent or unable to protect us. It locks our attention on perceived dangers, blinding us to the truth that the Almighty is standing beside us, actively defending our peace and holding us securely within His unbreakable grace. When God called Joshua to lead Israel, He addressed this threat directly: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).
Fear thrives when we focus on giant obstacles rather than an almighty God. Yet, when we fix our eyes on His sovereignty, those overwhelming threats shrink into quiet reminders of His endless power, protection, and faithfulness. God’s sovereignty means that God possesses supreme, absolute authority and supreme power over all of creation. Nothing happens outside of His knowledge, permission, or ultimate control.Scripture reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:7 that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18) because love reminds us whose we are. When fear speaks, we counter it with Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you." By replacing discouragement with biblical hope and confronting fear with God's presence, we reclaim our spiritual momentum and draw closer to the Lord. In doing so, we shift our focus from the magnitude of our trials to the majesty of our Father. We begin to see that every giant before us is simply a stage for His strength, turning our deepest doubts into lasting faith.
Here are 4 key things one can do to overcome discouragement and fear when they attack:
Consciously shift your gaze from the magnitude of the trial to the majesty of God. Look away from the temporal and fix your eyes on what is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).
Counter feelings with facts. Speak specific Scripture aloud to quiet emotional storms—reminding your soul of God’s sovereignty and promises (Isaiah 41:10, Joshua 1:9).
Seek daily spiritual replenishment through prayer, worship, and God's word. Even when the outer circumstances are exhausting, your inner person can be renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16).
Break the momentum of paralysis by doing the very next right thing, no matter how small. Continued obedience in doing good keeps spiritual momentum moving forward (Galatians 6:9).
CLOSING PRAYER: Heavenly Father, when discouragement and fear attack my heart, help me fix my eyes on You. Forgive me for focusing on the rubble instead of Your power. Grant me the strength to quiet my doubts with Your truth and trust in Your unbroken presence. Renew my spirit day by day, Lord, and replace my anxious thoughts with Your peace. Lead me step by step, knowing You walk beside me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
