Daily Devotion: Isaiah 52:5
“We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at him – we ignored him as if he were nothing. But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God. But because of our sin he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received.” GNB
Isaiah actually says it all, there is no need for further explanation of the gift granted to us on that long ago Good Friday. It has been done, it is finished. All you and I have to do is to choose to accept the offered salvation.
One very important thing must be said, though, you have heard the message, you have received the invitation, you’ve heard the truth. There is no turning back now. You cannot claim that you did not know, so if you make your decision to disregard Jesus’ message and cast Him aside yet again, keep in mind that your physical life on earth will end one day. And when it does, you will face God and you will be judged for your words and your actions. You will not be able to simply shake your head and say: “I did not know”.
Proverbs 1:24-28: “I have been calling you, inviting you to come, but you would not listen. You paid no attention to me. You have ignored all my advice and have not been willing to let me correct you. So when you get into trouble, I will laugh at you, I will mock you when terror strikes – when it comes on you like a storm, bringing fierce winds of trouble, and you are in pain and misery. Then you will call for wisdom, but I will not answer. You may look for me everywhere, but you will not find me.”
Romans 2:5: “But you have a hard and stubborn heart, and so you are making your own punishment even greater on the Day when God’s anger and righteous judgements will be revealed.”
Why don’t you accept Jesus Christ as you Saviour today. He died for everyone, not just for a select few. You can become part of God’s family and, someday, face God without fear.
This is your choice, so make sure you choose well.
