Daily Bible Lesson. CAN BEAUTY BECOME A LIE? THE HIDDEN DANGERS OF ARTIFICIAL BEAUTY, AND THE BEAUTY CHRIST WANTS TO CREATE. “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” — Exodus 20:16 We usually think a lie must be spoken. But can deception also be displayed? A complexion made to appear different. Artificial lashes presented as natural. Artificial nails. Artificial hair. Filters that create another face. An appearance deliberately designed to make the artificial appear real. Here is the searching question: IF GOD REQUIRES TRUTH FROM OUR LIPS—DOES HE ALSO CARE ABOUT THE TRUTH OUR APPEARANCE COMMUNICATES? God is not against beauty. HE CREATED BEAUTY. But Scripture directs us away from making outward appearance our treasure and toward something cosmetics can never manufacture: THE BEAUTY OF A CHRIST-TRANSFORMED CHARACTER. --- ① WHEN APPEARANCE IS USED TO DECEIVE, TRUTHFULNESS IS AT STAKE “Putting away lying, speak every man truth.” — Ephesians 4:25 Falsehood is not merely pronouncing an untrue sentence. We can misrepresent ourselves by intentionally creating a false impression. So before the mirror, ask: “AM I SIMPLY BEING CLEAN AND PRESENTABLE—OR AM I TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING ARTIFICIAL APPEAR NATURALLY MINE?” Scripture does not specifically say, “makeup and wigs violate the Ninth Commandment.” The biblical principle is broader and deeper: WHEN APPEARANCE IS INTENTIONALLY USED TO DECEIVE, THE PRINCIPLE OF TRUTHFULNESS IS AT STAKE. And context matters. A wig used because of illness, hair loss, protection, or genuine practical need should not automatically be branded dishonest. God wants truth not merely upon our lips— “Thou desirest truth in the inward parts.” — Psalm 51:6 --- ② MAKEUP CAN COVER A BLEMISH—BUT IT CANNOT CREATE BEAUTY OF CHARACTER Peter redirects our attention: “Let it be the hidden man of the heart… even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit.” — 1 Peter 3:4 Paul adds: “In modest apparel… with good works.” — 1 Timothy 2:9–10 God moves beauty: FROM DISPLAY → TO CHARACTER. FROM VANITY → TO MODESTY. FROM HUMAN APPLAUSE → TO GOD'S APPROVAL. FROM MAGNIFYING SELF → TO REVEALING CHRIST. No foundation can produce purity. No lipstick can create kindness. No artificial lashes can produce humility. No wig can manufacture contentment. No filter can create holiness. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FACE CANNOT COMPENSATE FOR AN UNCONVERTED HEART. “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” — Proverbs 31:30 --- ③ ARTIFICIAL BEAUTY CAN QUIETLY TEACH THE HEART: “THE REAL YOU IS NOT ENOUGH” Cover this. Lengthen that. Darken this. Lighten that. Change the hair. Reshape the face. Hide every imperfection. And tomorrow— BUY SOMETHING ELSE. Eventually the danger becomes bigger than cosmetics. The mirror begins preaching: “GOD'S WORKMANSHIP IS NOT ENOUGH.” But Scripture answers: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14 Your deepest question is not: “Am I attractive enough for people?” It is: “AM I BECOMING LIKE JESUS?” --- ④ THERE ARE REAL PHYSICAL RISKS—BEAUTY PRODUCTS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY HARMLESS Science requires honesty. Not every cosmetic is dangerous, and many properly formulated products are safely used by most people. But cosmetic does not mean risk-free. Dermatology recognizes both irritant and allergic contact dermatitis from cosmetic ingredients. Fragrances, preservatives, hair dyes, resins and adhesives can trigger reactions in susceptible people. Products used around the eyes may cause irritation or allergy; contaminated eye cosmetics can contribute to infection. False-eyelash adhesives can also provoke irritation or allergic reactions. Hair dyes and some products used with artificial hair can likewise expose sensitive skin to allergens. So the Christian principle of health asks: “Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19 WHY ADD AN UNNECESSARY EXPOSURE SIMPLY TO CREATE AN APPEARANCE? BEAUTY SHOULD NEVER BE PURCHASED AT THE EXPENSE OF HEALTH. And cosmetics cannot permanently reproduce what sleep, nourishing food, exercise, cleanliness, sunlight, temperance and healthful living help cultivate naturally. THE HEALTHIEST GLOW CANNOT BE PAINTED ON. --- ⑤ THE MENTAL DANGER MAY BE EVEN MORE SUBTLE The most dangerous mirror is the one that whispers: “DON'T LET THEM SEE THE REAL YOU.” When we feel unable to leave home without enhancement… when compliments determine our worth… when comparison controls our happiness… when we repeatedly inspect perceived flaws… when appearance consumes excessive money, thought, time and emotional energy— THE OUTWARD IMAGE HAS BEGUN TO GOVERN THE INWARD PERSON. Research on appearance-focused media repeatedly links appearance comparison and exposure to idealized or heavily edited images with increased body dissatisfaction and related psychological distress. The gospel offers another identity: YOUR VALUE IS NOT MEASURED BY A MIRROR. It was demonstrated at CALVARY. “Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things… But with the precious blood of Christ.” — 1 Peter 1:18–19 YOUR FACE DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR WORTH. THE PRICE CHRIST PAID REVEALS YOUR WORTH TO HIM. --- ⑥ VANITY CAN BECOME EXPENSIVE IN MORE WAYS THAN MONEY Ask what artificial beauty may consume: MONEY that could bless others. TIME that could be invested in prayer, family and service. THOUGHT that could dwell upon eternal things. CONTENTMENT through constant comparison. SIMPLICITY through dependence upon fashion. HEALTH when unnecessary products cause reactions. And potentially— SPIRITUAL ATTENTION, when the question becomes “How do I look?” more often than “How does Christ look through my life?” “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” — Matthew 6:21 That makes this deeply personal: HOW MUCH OF MY PEACE DEPENDS UPON HOW PEOPLE SEE ME? --- ⑦ WHY CHOOSE NATURAL CHRISTIAN SIMPLICITY? Not because neglect is holy. Not because attractiveness is sinful. Not because everyone who wears makeup is vain. And certainly not because Christians should police another person's face. Choose simplicity because it can help cultivate something better: TRUTH instead of artificial impression. CONTENTMENT instead of comparison. HEALTH instead of needless exposure. MODESTY instead of display. STEWARDSHIP instead of unnecessary expense. FREEDOM instead of dependence upon appearance. CHRIST instead of self at the center. Ellen White wrote: “God is the author of all beauty.” Christian simplicity therefore does not mean: “MAKE YOURSELF UNATTRACTIVE.” It means: STOP LETTING THE WORLD DECIDE WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL. Be clean. Be neat. Be healthy. Be modest. Be appropriately dressed. Be beautifully Christlike. BUT NEVER LET FASHION BECOME YOUR MASTER OR APPEARANCE BECOME YOUR IDENTITY. --- ⑧ THE GREATEST DANGER IS SPIRITUAL We can spend an hour preparing the person everyone sees— and minutes preparing the person GOD SEES. Correct the complexion— while leaving anger untouched. Arrange the hair— while neglecting prayer. Perfect the outward appearance— while tolerating pride. Cover blemishes— while hiding cherished sin. Then Jesus takes us past the mirror: “Cleanse first that which is within.” — Matthew 23:26 CHRIST DID NOT DIE TO GIVE US A BETTER MASK. HE DIED TO GIVE US A NEW HEART. “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” — Psalm 51:10 **HEAVEN IS NOT PREPARING FACES FOR DISPLAY. HEAVEN IS PREPARING CHARACTERS FOR ETERNITY.** --- ⑨ BEFORE THE MIRROR—ASK SEVEN QUESTIONS Is it truthful? Is it modest? Is it necessary? Is it healthful? Is it good stewardship? Am I content with how God made me? Does it help reveal Christ—or magnify self? Christianity does not merely ask: “WHAT CAN I GET AWAY WITH?” Love asks: “Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?” — Acts 9:6 --- CHRIST OFFERS WHAT THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY NEVER CAN Makeup can change a complexion. Artificial hair can change an appearance. A filter can change a photograph. BUT ONLY JESUS CAN CHANGE THE PERSON. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 He replaces— vanity with humility, comparison with contentment, insecurity with identity in Him, self-display with modesty, falsehood with truth. This is not permission to ridicule women, condemn those dealing with hair loss, or judge another person's heart by appearance. REFORM WITHOUT CHRIST BECOMES CONDEMNATION. REFORM THROUGH CHRIST BECOMES TRANSFORMATION. Bring Him the insecurity. Bring Him the vanity. Bring Him the craving for approval. BRING HIM THE MIRROR. “Beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, [we] are changed into the same image.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18 DON'T SPEND YOUR LIFE PERFECTING AN IMAGE THAT TIME WILL ERASE—WHILE NEGLECTING THE CHARACTER CHRIST WANTS TO PREPARE FOR ETERNITY. Every cosmetic eventually washes away. Every artificial enhancement is eventually laid aside. Youthful beauty fades. BUT THE BEAUTY CHRIST WRITES INTO THE CHARACTER CAN ENDURE FOREVER. LET THE FACE BE SIMPLE. LET THE LIFE BE BEAUTIFUL. LET THE HEART BE TRUE. LET THE CHARACTER REVEAL CHRIST. AND ABOVE EVERYTHING—LET JESUS BE SEEN.

When the church is functioning according to its nature, it offers • interdependence instead of independence • wholeness instead of fragmentation • participation instead of spectatorship • connectedness instead of isolation • solidarity instead of individualism • spontaneity instead of institutionalization • relationship instead of programs • servitude instead of dominance • enrichment instead of insecurity • freedom instead of bondage • community instead of corporation • bonding instead of detachment.

17-08-2026 One Spirit With Him Scripture — 1 Corinthians 6:17 (AMP) “But the one who is united and joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” What an incredible truth: when you belong to Christ, you are not walking through life alone. You are united with Him. The world often tells us to find our identity in what we accomplish, what people think of us, our past, or our circumstances. But God invites us into something far deeper. Through faith in Jesus, we are joined to Him. His presence is not simply something we visit during prayer or church—it is a reality we carry with us every day. Being “one spirit with Him” means your relationship with Jesus affects the way you think, speak, choose, love, and live. When you are tempted, He is with you. When you are discouraged, He is with you. When you don't know which way to go, you can turn to Him. You don't have to live as though you are separated from God, trying to figure everything out by your own strength. His Spirit is with you, guiding you and drawing you closer to Him. Today, remember that your life belongs to Christ. Your body, your mind, your choices, your dreams, and your future can all be surrendered to Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you live from your union with Jesus rather than from fear, pressure, or insecurity. Prayer Father, thank You that through Jesus I am united with You. Help me to remember that I am never alone. Let Your Spirit guide my thoughts, my words, and my decisions today. Teach me to live in a way that honors You and reflects Your love. When I feel weak, remind me that Your presence is with me. I surrender every part of my life to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Today’s Reminder I am not alone. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: 5 THINGS EVERY CHRISTIAN WOMAN SHOULD NEVER COMPROMISE. Key Scripture: Proverbs 31:30 «“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”» A Christian woman is not called to fit into the world; she is called to shine in the world without becoming part of its darkness. There will be pressure to compromise your convictions for a relationship, a job, money, acceptance, fashion, popularity, or social media approval. But remember this: What you compromise to gain today may become the very thing that destroys your testimony tomorrow. You can lose money and recover it. You can lose an opportunity and find another. You can lose popularity and still be fulfilled. But when you lose your character, convictions, and fellowship with God, the cost can be far greater. A godly woman must learn to say: “I would rather disappoint people than disappoint God.” 1. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD Matthew 6:33 «“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…”» Before you are a wife, mother, professional, entrepreneur, student, minister, or friend, you are first a woman created by God. Your relationship with God must not become secondary because life becomes busy. Do not abandon prayer because you have entered a relationship. Do not abandon the Word because you have become successful. Do not stop attending fellowship because you have become comfortable. Do not allow a relationship to replace your relationship with Christ. Deep Spiritual Insight Anything that takes God's rightful place in your heart eventually becomes an idol. A Christian woman must be able to say: “God is not part of my life; God is the foundation of my life.” Practical Action - Maintain a consistent prayer life. - Study God's Word. - Fellowship with other believers. - Guard your spiritual environment. - Put God first in your decisions. 2. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR PURITY AND CHARACTER 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 «“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification…”» The world may tell you that purity is outdated. It is not. Holiness is not old-fashioned. Holiness is still God's standard. Your body is not merely an instrument for attracting attention. It is a temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Paul reminds believers that their bodies belong to God. Therefore, do not allow desperation for marriage, money, attention, or acceptance to push you into sexual immorality or compromising situations. A woman of God must understand: Your value is not determined by who desires you. Your value is determined by the God who created you. Biblical Example: Joseph and Potiphar's Wife Joseph was tempted privately when nobody appeared to be watching. But Joseph said: «“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” — Genesis 39:9» Notice what Joseph considered most important. He did not say, “What will people say?” He said, “I cannot sin against God.” That must also be the conviction of every Christian woman. 3. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR IDENTITY AND GOD-GIVEN VALUE Psalm 139:14 «“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”» Social media can make women compare themselves with other women. One woman looks more beautiful. Another appears richer. Another has a successful marriage. Another has thousands of followers. Another seems to have everything together. But remember: Comparison can make you despise what God created. You don't have to become somebody else to become valuable. God created you intentionally. Your identity should not be built on: - Physical appearance - Relationship status - Wealth - Social media validation - People's opinions - Titles - Material possessions Your identity must be rooted in Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 You are part of a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. Therefore, don't sell your identity cheaply for acceptance. You are God's workmanship before you are anybody's girlfriend, wife, employee, friend, or follower. 4. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR VALUES FOR MONEY OR SUCCESS Proverbs 11:1 «“A false balance is abomination to the LORD…”» There is nothing wrong with wanting success. There is nothing wrong with building a business. There is nothing wrong with becoming financially independent. But success without integrity is failure wearing expensive clothes. Never lie to make money. Never cheat to get ahead. Never sleep with someone to secure an opportunity. Never participate in corruption because “everybody is doing it.” Never allow financial pressure to destroy your principles. Biblical Example: The Virtuous Woman Proverbs 31:25 «“Strength and honour are her clothing…”» The woman described in Proverbs 31 was productive, hardworking, intelligent, business-minded, generous, and responsible. She was not weak. She was a woman of strength and honour. God does not require Christian women to be unsuccessful. He requires them to be faithful while pursuing success. 5. NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR PURPOSE AND GODLY INFLUENCE Esther 4:14 «“And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”» Esther was positioned in the palace for a purpose. Her position was not merely for comfort. It was an opportunity to influence history. Every Christian woman has influence somewhere. You may influence: - Your children - Your husband - Your workplace - Your church - Your community - Your generation - Your social media audience - Young people watching your life Never underestimate your influence. Titus 2:3-5 Older Christian women are instructed to teach and guide younger women. This means Christian women are not merely recipients of spiritual knowledge. They are also carriers and transmitters of godly wisdom. Your life is preaching something even when your mouth is closed. The question is: What is your life preaching? BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: HANNAH 1 Samuel 1:9-20 Hannah experienced deep emotional pain because she had no child. She was mocked and misunderstood. Yet she took her pain to God. She did not allow her disappointment to destroy her faith. She prayed. She waited. She trusted. And eventually, God answered her with Samuel. Lesson for Christian Women Your current situation is not necessarily your final chapter. You may be waiting for: - Marriage - Children - Financial breakthrough - Career advancement - Healing - Ministry growth - Restoration But don't compromise while waiting. Never exchange your destiny for temporary relief. Hannah waited before God, and her story changed. 5 QUESTIONS EVERY CHRISTIAN WOMAN SHOULD ASK HERSELF 1. What am I tempted to compromise because I desperately want something? 2. Has any relationship become more important to me than God? 3. Does my private life agree with my public Christian testimony? 4. Am I allowing society or social media to determine my value? 5. If Jesus examined my decisions today, would I be proud of them? PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. Establish non-negotiable convictions. Decide beforehand what you will and will not compromise. 2. Choose relationships wisely. Anyone who constantly pushes you away from God is not helping your destiny. 3. Protect your private life. Character is revealed by what you do when nobody is watching. 4. Build your identity in Christ. Know God's Word concerning who you are. 5. Find godly women to learn from. Don't walk alone. Learn from mature Christian women who have walked with God through different seasons of life. POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Father, give me the grace to love You above everything else, in Jesus' name. 2. Lord, strengthen me to stand for righteousness when I am under pressure to compromise. 3. Father, protect my heart, mind, body, and destiny from ungodly influences. 4. Lord, deliver me from comparison, insecurity, and the need for human approval. 5. Father, give me wisdom to recognize relationships and opportunities that are not from You. 6. Lord, help me to pursue success without sacrificing my integrity. 7. Father, let my life become a godly example to the generation coming after me. 8. Lord, restore every woman who has fallen through compromise and give her the grace to rise again. CALL TO ACTION Dear woman of God, you don't have to compromise to be accepted. You don't have to compromise to get married. You don't have to compromise to become successful. You don't have to compromise to become beautiful. You don't have to compromise to become influential. You don't have to compromise to survive. God is able to bless you without destroying you. The world may tell you: “Everybody is doing it.” But you must say: “I am not everybody. I belong to Christ.” When everybody is bowing, stand. When everybody is compromising, stand. When everybody is pursuing popularity, pursue holiness. When everybody is choosing temporary pleasure, choose eternal purpose. Your beauty will fade. Your possessions will pass away. Your popularity may disappear. But a life that honours God will leave an eternal testimony. Final Declaration I will not compromise my faith. I will not compromise my purity. I will not compromise my identity. I will not compromise my integrity. I will not compromise my purpose. I am a woman of God. I belong to Christ. My life has purpose. My body is God's temple. My character is my treasure. My faith is my foundation. (1)" ‘…when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.’ Hebrews 10:36 NIV. MANY OF us remember singing in church, ‘Every promise in the Book is mine!’ Exciting words—but are they entirely true? If you’ve prayed for the fulfilment of a Bible promise that didn’t materialise, you may have wondered, felt disillusioned, or even stopped trusting. What’s true is that every promise in the Book intended for you, is yours! God is committed to keeping every promise He has made (Matthew 24:35). So how can you know which Bible promises are yours? Here are some scriptural guidelines to help you: 1) Be sure you understand the promise. God is committed to His Word, not to your interpretation of it. When Jesus said, ‘…Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up’ (John 2:19 NKJV), His audience completely misunderstood Him, thinking He meant the literal temple when He meant His body. 2) Walk in the Spirit, not the flesh. Walking in the Spirit, Peter received divine understanding of Christ’s deity. When Jesus asked, ‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘…this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father…’ (Matthew 16:15-17 NIV). Soon afterwards, walking in the flesh, the same man totally misunderstood Jesus and was severely rebuked by Jesus (Matthew 16:21-23). Why? Because ‘…the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God…nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned’ (1 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV). Examining the periods of the Christian Reformation, Revival, and Renaissance, he concludes that the darkest hour is often just before the dawn. Consequently, we should always be people of hope and prayer rather than gloom and defeatism. God can turn the situation around in a moment.* *The cleric took lessons from the experience of Habakkuk, the prophet who was struck with terror on learning from the Lord that the land of Judah would be attacked by the fierce Chaldean troops from Babylon. Already disturbed by the iniquities of injustice and impunity around him, on which he expected the Lord to act, Habakkuk was now informed that more disquietude was on the way. The prophet was made to understand that even the Chaldeans, who were to be used as an instrument of punishment, were themselves to face the wrath of God for their wickedness. His anxiety was relieved when he realised that the God of mercy he served was at the point of reviving His people in the process. He went on to intercede for precisely that.* *With humanity now also traumatised by sporadic assaults coming through technological inventions like Artificial Intelligence (AI), wars, insecurity, dysfunctional governance, threats of nuclear conflagration, there are fears that man is on the brink, looking into the bottomless abyss. Really? Not so. The Christian is challenged, rather, like Habakkuk, to plead for revival among the turmoil. It is the hour to ask for an unprecedented move of God's Spirit in the world, an event that should usher multitudes to repentance and turning to Christ for succour in trying times.* *The Lord's second coming is imminent, going by the signs we are witnessing. It is a timely call for vigilant heaven-seeking Christians to strengthen their commitment to holiness, evangelism, study of God's word, fellowship, and acts of kindness. There are many contemporary cases of revival in addition to the one in Bible days. Jonah was used by God to bring Revival to the people of Nineveh where all the 120,000 inhabitants got convicted and converted. There were revivals in Israel during the time of king Hezekiah and Josiah. The Early Church also experienced great revival immediately after the Pentecost. When there is spiritual coldness and indifference to spiritual things, when there is no clear distinction between the world and the Church, when saints are distracted from heavenly desire to earthly preoccupation, then revival is needed. When the saints are weak, powerless and fainting in scriptural conviction and consecration, then we need revival. When formalism and entertainment fill our worship instead of true and holy devotion to God and heavenly things, revival is needed. In order to experience revival, there must be deep concern and burden for prayer coupled with passion for revival. It takes a revived person to be an instrument of revival. *1. The Man of Prayer* a. The man God uses must be a man of bended knees with power of prayer. *"A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.”* Habakkuk was not merely a prophet who preached; he was also a man who prayed. His direct communication with God was not clogged. God could express His mind and vision to him clearly and He also could hear from God and communicate with God effectively and fruitfully. He was a true servant of God that stood between God and man as mediator. He lived a life that was pleasing to God and God could speak to him about people. He dwelt in the midst of compromised and corrupted people without being defiled and with boldness to declare unto them their sins and evil as God had told him without fear or favour. His response to the difficult circumstances surrounding Judah was to seek God. The spiritual condition of a nation should drive God's servants to their knees. Revival begins when someone becomes sufficiently burdened to pray as he comes out of the cocoon of self seeking and self satisfaction. b. There is no revival that ever came in human history without people who had the passion and power of prayer from God. Habakkuk's prayer demonstrates that prayer is not a sign of weakness, but an expression of dependence upon the Almighty. The revival God wants to bring may begin with one person who is willing to stand before Him in persistent intercession. Churches need prayer warriors who will carry the burden of their generation before God. The praying saints or warriors that bring revival concentrate their prayers on heavenly things and not on earthly benefits and blessings. Earnest, consistent and persistent prayers by holy people with deep burden and passion for the glory of God, salvation of souls and perfection of saints are indispensable to a true God sent revival. *Question* Am I sufficiently burdened by the spiritual condition of my generation to become a man or woman of prayer? *2. The Manifestation of Passion* *"O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid"*. Habakkuk's prayer reveals intense spiritual passion. Having heard God's Word and understood His dealings with His people, he was moved deeply. He was such a person that was not indifferent to the Word of God. The Word of God moved, burned and melted his heart. It became fire in his bones that only revival could quench. First he heard the voice of God. Second he was afraid. He was like Noah who, after hearing the Word of God, believed and *"being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house"* (Hebrews 11:7). True passion for God is not passive. It actively engages in things that will bring change and revival. b. Passion for revival means longing to see God glorified, sinners saved, believers renewed and righteousness restored. Habakkuk did not ask God merely to improve circumstances; he asked Him to revive His work. True revival passion is therefore God-centred rather than man-centred. We must pray until spiritual hunger replaces spiritual complacency. *Question* Does my prayer life demonstrate a genuine passion for God to revive His work in my generation? *3. The Mercy from the Potentate* a. What does this world need desperately from God? Mercy! The degree of worldliness and ungodliness are inexcusable. Man deliberately lives his life, spurning His Word and commandments as if God does not exist. Saints' lives are soiled with carnality, worldliness and corruption. Their focus has shifted from serving the Lord to what mundane things the Lord will give to them. b. Passionate prayer for the mercy of God is an indication that we accept that God has been offended and He is angry at us because of our coldness and carnality. It should always be a prayer point constantly. *“In the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”* Habakkuk recognized God as the sovereign Potentate who has authority to judge, revive, restore and show mercy. He therefore pleaded, *“in wrath remember mercy.”* Revival cannot be manufactured by human ability; it must come through divine mercy and sovereign intervention. The prophet understood that although God's people might deserve judgment, God's mercy could provide restoration. This should encourage us to approach God humbly and plead for mercy upon the Church, families, communities, and nations. When God shows mercy, dry bones can live again, cold hearts can burn again and His work can flourish again. *Question* Am I humbly pleading with the sovereign God to remember mercy and revive His work in our generation? DAILY MANNA 2026 DEVOTIONAL DATE: SAT, AUG 15, 2026 TOPIC: QUEST FOR REVIVAL KEY VERSE: "O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy." - (Habakkuk 3:2). READ: Habakkuk 3:1-2 (KJV) MESSAGE: Reviewing the history of revivals in Christendom, English author and theologian, Os Guinness, states that these spontaneous supernatural acts occur during turbulent times. Examining the periods of the Christian Reformation, Revival, and Renaissance, he concludes that the darkest hour is often just before the dawn. Consequently, we should always be people of hope and prayer rather than gloom and defeatism. God can turn the situation around in a moment. The cleric took lessons from the experience of Habakkuk, the prophet who was struck with terror on learning that the land of Judah would be attacked by the fierce Chaldean troops from Babylon. Already disturbed by the iniquities of injustice and impunity around him, on which he expected the Lord to act, Habakkuk was now informed that more disquietude was on the way. The prophet was made to understand that even the Chaldeans, who were to be used as an instrument of punishment, were relieved when he realised that the God of mercy he served was at the point of reviving His people in the process. He went on to intercede for precisely that. With humanity now also traumatised by sporadic assaults through technological inventions like Artificial Intelligence (AI), wars, insecurity, dysfunctional governance, threats of nuclear conflagration, there are fears that man is on the brink, looking into the bottomless abyss. Really? Not so. The Christian is challenged, rather, like Habakkuk, to plead for revival amid the turmoil. It is the hour to ask for an unprecedented move of God's Spirit in the world, an event that should usher multitudes to repentance and turning to Christ for succour in trying times. The Lord's second coming is imminent, going by the signs we are witnessing. It is a timely call for vigilant heaven-seeking Christians to strengthen their commitment to holiness, evangelism, word, fellowship, and acts of kindness. The Helmet of Salvation Many believers struggle in the mind because they have not put on their helmet. They entertain thoughts of condemnation, rejection, abandonment, and spiritual insecurity, all of which are attacks against the head. Put on the helmet of salvation: the settled assurance of God's finished work in your life. Let it protect every thought that passes through your mind. Press forward with a saved, secured, and sanctified mind. PRAYER: Gracious Heavenly Father, let the helmet of salvation cover my mind. Protect my thoughts from the enemy's accusations. God Calls You What He Is Making You Scripture Judges 6:12 (NKJV) And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him The Lord is with you you mighty man of valor Seen by God Beyond Fear Judges chapter 6 introduces Gideon during one of Israel’s darkest seasons. The Midianites are oppressing the people and Israel is living in fear. Gideon is found hiding in a winepress threshing wheat in secret to avoid the enemy. Nothing about the scene looks brave or heroic. Yet God speaks to Gideon based not on where he is but on who God is calling him to become. The Lord calls him a mighty man of valor while he is still afraid. God’s words reveal a powerful truth. God does not define us by our current weakness but by His future purpose. Gideon struggles with doubt insecurity and questions. He feels small insignificant and unqualified. But God patiently reassures him that His presence is what makes the difference. The calling is not based on Gideon’s strength but on God’s faithfulness. For believers today Judges 6 reminds us that God often meets us in places of fear and calls us forward anyway. He sees what His grace will produce. When God says He is with you courage becomes possible even before confidence appears. Reflection Questions 1. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS. YOU ARE GOD’S DELIGHT. Understanding Your Identity, Value, and Place in God’s Heart. Main Text: Psalm 149:4 > “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.” Supporting Scriptures: Isaiah 62:4; Zephaniah 3:17; Psalm 18:19; Matthew 3:17; Ephesians 1:5–6 1. STRONG OPENING — GOD IS NOT ASHAMED OF YOU There are people who spend their entire lives trying to prove that they are valuable. They seek approval from friends. They seek acceptance from society. They seek validation through money, achievements, relationships, titles, appearance, and social media. But here is the good news of the Gospel: Before the world applauded you, God already saw you. Before people celebrated you, God already loved you. Before you achieved anything, God had a purpose for your life. You are not an accident. You are not a mistake. You are not forgotten. You are God's delight. That does not mean God approves of every sinful action we take. It means that, in Christ, God lovingly claims us, values us, and desires fellowship with us. The enemy wants you to live like an unwanted person. God wants you to live like a beloved child. 2. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE GOD'S DELIGHT? Psalm 149:4 says: > “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people.” Think about that. God takes pleasure in His people. God is not merely tolerating you. He is not saying, “I have no choice but to deal with this person.” He desires relationship with His people. Zephaniah 3:17 gives us an even deeper picture: > “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy..." God rejoices over His people. Your value is therefore not determined by your failures, your past, your bank account, your educational level, your family background, or the opinions of people. Your ultimate value comes from God. 3. FIVE POWERFUL TRUTHS ABOUT BEING GOD'S DELIGHT POINT ONE: GOD'S LOVE FOR YOU IS ROOTED IN GRACE Ephesians 1:5–6 God chose to adopt us through Jesus Christ and accept us in the Beloved. Notice something important: God's love is not a salary you earn. It is grace. You cannot work enough to make God love you more. And when you fail, you should not run away from God as though He has stopped caring about you. Instead, run toward Him in repentance. The prodigal son is a powerful example. He left his father's house. He wasted his inheritance. He made terrible decisions. But when he returned, the father received him. Luke 15:20 says the father saw him while he was still far away and ran to meet him. That is grace. Your failure may have changed your circumstances, but it did not erase God's invitation to return. Spiritual Insight: Sin should make you repent, not hide. When you understand God's grace, you stop running from God and start running back to Him. POINT TWO: GOD'S DELIGHT DOES NOT MEAN GOD APPROVES OF EVERYTHING YOU DO This is very important. Being God's delight does not mean: "I can live anyhow because God loves me." No. God's love does not remove His holiness. Hebrews 12:6 teaches that the Lord disciplines those He loves. A good father does not watch his child walk toward danger and say, “I love you, so do whatever you want.” Love corrects. Love disciplines. Love protects. Therefore, when God corrects you, do not interpret His correction as rejection. Sometimes the closed door is love. Sometimes the conviction of the Holy Spirit is love. Sometimes God's “No” is protecting your future. Remember: God loves you too much to leave you the way He found you. His grace saves you, and His grace also transforms you. POINT THREE: YOUR IDENTITY MUST COME FROM GOD, NOT PEOPLE Matthew 3:17 When Jesus was baptized, the Father declared: > “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” This happened before Jesus began His public ministry. Think about that. The Father affirmed the Son before the miracles, before the crowds, before the cross, and before the resurrection. Jesus did not have to perform miracles to become the Father's Son. He performed miracles because He already knew who He was. Many Christians have reversed the order. They say: > “If I succeed, then I will feel valuable.” > “If people accept me, then I will feel important.” > “If I become rich, then I will feel significant.” But God says: “Know who you are in Me.” Your identity should produce your activity—not the other way around. To the young Christian: Do not allow social media to tell you your worth. To the mature Christian: Do not allow your position, title, ministry, or achievements to become your identity. You are first God's child before you are anything else. POINT FOUR: GOD DELIGHTS IN A HEART THAT SEEKS HIM Psalm 37:23 > “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” God delights when His children walk with Him. He delights in obedience. He delights in faith. He delights in humility. He delights when we choose righteousness when nobody is watching. You may not be standing on a pulpit. You may not have thousands of followers. You may not have a famous ministry. But if you are faithfully walking with God, your life matters to Him. God sees the prayer nobody heard. He sees the sacrifice nobody appreciated. He sees the kindness nobody thanked you for. He sees the temptation you resisted. He sees the tears you cried privately. He sees you. POINT FIVE: BECAUSE YOU ARE GOD'S DELIGHT, YOU MUST BECOME A DELIGHT TO OTHERS This is where the message becomes practical. If God has shown you mercy, show mercy. If God has forgiven you, forgive. If God has encouraged you, encourage someone. If God has lifted you, lift someone else. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16: > “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” The world does not only need Christians who attend church. The world needs Christians who carry God's character into society. Be a blessing in your home. Be honest in business. Be faithful in marriage. Be compassionate toward the needy. Be truthful when lying would be easier. Be kind when people are difficult. Let people encounter God's love through your life. 4. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY DAVID Consider David. Before David became king, he was a shepherd boy. His own father did not initially present him when Samuel came looking for God's chosen king. His brothers underestimated him. Saul later hunted him. David experienced rejection, danger, loneliness, and betrayal. Yet God had already chosen him. 1 Samuel 16:7 reminds us that God does not judge as man judges. People look at outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. David's circumstances did not determine his value. His position did not determine his value. God did. And David eventually became king. Lesson: You may be in a season where nobody recognizes you. Keep walking with God. You may be overlooked. Keep serving. You may be rejected. Keep your heart clean. You may be hidden. Keep preparing. Being hidden does not mean being forgotten. Sometimes God hides you before He reveals you. 5. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. Stop defining yourself by your past. Your past may explain some things about you, but it does not have the final word. 2. Spend time in God's Word. You cannot understand your identity if you constantly listen to voices that contradict God's Word. 3. Pray from identity, not insecurity. Don't only pray, “Lord, make me somebody.” Begin to pray: “Lord, help me become who You created me to be.” 4. Refuse comparison. Someone else's testimony does not cancel yours. Their timing is not your timing. 5. Walk in obedience. If you know what God has commanded, do it. 6. Become an encourager. Find someone who is struggling and remind them that God has not forgotten them. 6. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. Do I genuinely believe that God loves and values me? 2. Have I allowed people's opinions to become more important than God's Word? 3. Am I confusing God's love with permission to live in sin? 4. What area of my life needs God's transformation? 5. Who around me needs encouragement today? 6. If I truly believe I am God's beloved, how should my lifestyle change? 7. POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1 Father, thank You for loving me and accepting me through Jesus Christ. 2 Lord, deliver me from the fear of rejection and the desire to please everybody. 3 Father, help me to see myself the way You see me. 4 Lord, heal every wound created by rejection, disappointment, and failure. 5 Father, give me grace to walk in holiness and obedience. 6 Lord, let my life bring pleasure and glory to Your name. 7 Father, make me a source of encouragement, hope, and blessing to others. 8 Lord, restore everything in me that has been damaged by shame and condemnation. 9 Father, help me to fulfill the purpose for which You created me. 10 Lord Jesus, let my identity be firmly established in You and not in the opinions of people. 8. Your success should flow from your identity—not create your identity. Your ministry should flow from your relationship with God. Your service should flow from love. Your obedience should flow from gratitude. And your confidence should flow from knowing whose you are. STRONG CLOSING — LIVE LIKE SOMEONE GOD DELIGHTS IN Beloved, lift your head. You are not forgotten. You are not worthless. You are not God's mistake. You are not disqualified because you have fallen. Get up. Return to God. Receive His grace. Walk in His truth. Live in obedience. And become everything He has called you to become. You are God's delight—but don't stop there. Let your life become a testimony of His goodness. Let your family see Christ in you. Let your workplace see integrity in you. Let your community see compassion in you. Let your generation see holiness in you. Let heaven see obedience in you. And when the world asks, “What makes you different?” Let your life answer: “I belong to Jesus.” Final Declaration I am loved by God. I am accepted in Christ. I am not defined by my past. I will not live by the opinions of people. I will walk in obedience. I will fulfill God's purpose for my life. My life will glorify God. I am His child, and I will live like one.
