MONDAY 24TH AUGUST 2026 IGNITE YOUTH DEVOTIONAL Topic: Think Before You Decide Bible Reference “The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.” Proverbs 14:15 (NKJV) A Short Story Daniel was excited when he received a message from an old friend one Monday morning. The friend told him about a business opportunity that could make him a lot of money within a short time. He sent pictures of cars, expensive clothes, and screenshots of people who had supposedly made huge profits from the business. Daniel was immediately interested. “You should join now,” his friend told him. “If you delay, you will miss the opportunity.” Daniel did not have much money, but he was tired of struggling. He had watched other young people make progress while he was still trying to find his feet. He began imagining what he would do with the money if the business worked. He could buy a better phone, support his family, and finally stop asking people for help. That evening, Daniel was ready to transfer his savings. He had already made up his mind when his older brother asked him a simple question. “Have you checked how the business works?” Daniel became quiet. He had not checked anything. He had only listened to his friend and looked at the pictures he had been shown. His brother advised him to slow down and investigate before putting his money into it. Daniel reluctantly agreed. The next day, he searched for information about the company and discovered several complaints from people who had lost money through the same scheme. He also discovered that the pictures his friend had shown him were being used to attract new people. Daniel was disappointed, but he was grateful that he had not acted quickly. That experience taught him a lesson he never forgot. Not every opportunity is from God, and not everything that looks good is good for you. Sometimes wisdom is simply knowing when to stop, ask questions, pray, and think before making a decision. Today's Message Every young person will make important decisions. You will make decisions about your education, career, business, friendships, relationships, marriage, money, ministry, and the kind of person you want to become. Some decisions may look small at first, but they can affect many years of your life. The Bible says that a wise person considers his steps. This means you should not allow excitement, pressure, fear, or the desire to impress people to make your decisions for you. You do not have to say yes simply because everyone around you is saying yes. Some people have entered wrong relationships because they were afraid of being alone. Some have chosen the wrong career because they wanted to impress their friends. Some have lost money because they wanted quick success. Others have made serious mistakes because they acted before asking questions. Faith does not mean refusing to think. God expects you to pray, seek wisdom, examine your options, and make responsible decisions. You can trust God and still do your homework. Before you make an important decision, slow down. Ask yourself what the Bible says about it. Pray about it. Seek advice from mature and trustworthy people. Look at the possible consequences. Do not allow temporary excitement to make a permanent decision for you. A wise decision today can save you from years of regret tomorrow. What To Do Today 1. Think about one important decision you are currently considering and refuse to rush into it. 2. Pray about it and ask God for wisdom and clear direction. 3. Seek advice from someone mature and trustworthy. 4. Consider the possible consequences before you make your final decision. Prayer Lord, give me wisdom to make good decisions. Help me not to be controlled by pressure, fear, excitement, or the desire to please people. Teach me to think carefully, listen to wise counsel, follow Your Word, and choose what will honour You. Because the Israelites had abandoned God and worshiped Baal, God also abandoned them. Therefore, Jehoshaphat should not have had any relationship with Ahab. But he became related to Ahab and went to see him through that relationship. Then Ahab invited him to go fight against Syria. He was very angry. But he wanted to please Ahab more than God. So he went to war with Ahab. In this battle, God wanted to kill Ahab, and Ahab knew it. So he went to battle in disguise; but Jehoshaphat put on his royal robes and went to battle. The king of Aram had told the soldiers, "You shall only strike the king of Israel, and you shall not kill anyone." During the battle, when the soldiers of Aram chased Jehoshaphat, thinking that he was King Ahab, Jehoshaphat saw the desperate situation. He was now losing his life trying to save the lives of his family. Then he sought refuge in God and cried out. And the Lord helped him and turned the soldiers back. But a soldier drew his bow without aiming, and an arrow hit the king of Israel, and he died. This is how God saved Jehoshaphat. Even though God's chosen ones make mistakes, he delivers them when they call on him in their time of trouble. "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their supplication." 1 Peter 3:12

THE PILGRIMS GUIDE MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2026 THE STEPS OF THE GODLY A WORD FROM THE WORD: "The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives." Psalm 37:23 BBE. For you as a believing child of God, life becomes lighter, easier and more meaningful when you give the LORD God full control and allow Him to direct your steps (and stops too). Diverse experiences and frustrations arise not because God is absent, but because decisions are made without His guidance. When God orders your steps, He goes ahead of you to arrange outcomes, remove traps, and align (your) helpers (of destiny) along the way. God is not only interested in your destination, but also in your journey first and foremost. Every step matters, and some delays are divine protections, and some redirections are answers to prayers you did not know how to pray. What may look like a detour could be God preserving your destiny. Those who walk with God do not rush blindly; they move discerningly. David often inquired of the LORD before battle and never lost when he followed divine direction. When God orders your steps, even mistakes are redeemed, and losses are restored. As you move forward, surrender your plans, pathways and pace to God. Endeavour to trust Him enough to lead, correct, and guide you, because any life ordered by God cannot end in confusion. DAILY BREAD FELLOWSHIP DBF-001-029 Today’s Scripture John 2:8 (ESV) “And he said to them, ‘Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.’ So they took it.” Opening the Scriptures The servants had obeyed Jesus and filled the six stone jars with water up to the brim. Then Jesus gave another command. “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” Notice what John tells us next: “So they took it.” There is no recorded argument. There is no demand for an explanation. There is simply obedience. The servants had put water into those jars. They knew what had been placed there. Yet Jesus now told them to draw from the jars and take it to the man responsible for the wedding feast. They still did not know what Jesus was doing. But they obeyed what He said. Living God’s Word Today There are times when obeying Christ requires us to move forward without knowing what the result will be. We often want certainty before obedience. We want God to show us exactly how everything will work before we act. But Scripture does not teach us to trust our ability to understand every circumstance. It teaches us to trust God. This does not mean Christians should act carelessly or treat every personal feeling as though it were a command from God. That would be dangerous. Our obedience must be governed by what God has actually revealed in His Word. When Scripture speaks clearly, however, we should not delay obedience simply because we cannot see what God will accomplish through it. We forgive because Christ commands us to forgive. We speak truth because God commands truthfulness. We love because Christ commands us to love. We share the Gospel because Christ has commanded His people to make disciples. We serve faithfully because we belong to Him. The servants at Cana could not change water into wine. Their responsibility was much simpler. Jesus commanded. They obeyed. What happened next depended entirely upon the power of Christ. This protects us from two serious mistakes. We must not become passive and refuse to do what God commands. But neither should we imagine that the results depend entirely upon us. Obedience belongs to us. The power and the results belong to God. Whatever responsibility Christ has placed before you today, carry it out faithfully according to His Word. Then trust Him with what follows. Question for Today Are you willing to obey Christ even when you cannot yet see what He will do? Respond: “Lord Jesus, I will trust You and obey Your Word.”

*TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - SATURDAY, 22ND AUGUST, 2026.* 🌟*I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES!*🌟 📖 Scripture: “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.” — Job 19:25 (KJV). 🔥*Reflection – Faith That Stands in Difficult Times* Job spoke these powerful words in the midst of tremendous suffering. His circumstances gave him many reasons to despair, yet he declared with confidence: “I know that my redeemer liveth.” Job's confidence was not based on what he could see. His situation was painful and uncertain, but his faith rested in the character of his Redeemer. There will be seasons when circumstances challenge our faith. We may not understand why certain things are happening, but we can still hold firmly to the truth that God lives, God cares, and God remains our Redeemer. Today, let your confidence be greater than your circumstances. You may not know how everything will work out, but you can know Who holds your future. Your situation is not the final chapter. Your Redeemer lives! 🔊*Prophetic Declaration:* Today, I boldly declare: I know that my Redeemer lives! My hope is not dead, my faith is not dead, and my future is not hopeless because the Lord who redeemed me is alive. I declare that no present difficulty shall make me forget the faithfulness of God. Though I may walk through challenging seasons, I will continue to trust the Lord because He remains my Redeemer. Today, I receive fresh confidence in God's power to restore, renew, and redeem. Every area of my life that needs divine intervention is placed into the hands of my living Redeemer. I declare redemption over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May God redeem wasted opportunities, restore broken relationships according to His will, renew lost strength, and bring beauty out of difficult seasons. I refuse to believe that my best days are behind me. I choose to believe that God is still working, even when His work is not immediately visible. I declare that my faith shall become stronger through every trial. Like Job, I shall hold firmly to God even when I do not understand my circumstances. I proclaim that the Lord shall stand for me. He shall defend me, sustain me, guide me, and establish me according to His perfect purpose. Today, I declare that my life shall become a testimony of God's redeeming power. What seemed like the end shall become a new beginning, and what appeared hopeless shall reveal God's faithfulness. My Redeemer lives! My hope lives! My faith lives! My future is in God's hands! My story is not over! Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen! 🙏🔥✝️ ✅*Action Steps for today:* 1️⃣ Begin with worship: Thank God because your Redeemer lives, regardless of your present circumstances. 2️⃣ Read Job 19:23–27: Meditate on Job's remarkable declaration of faith in the midst of suffering. 3️⃣ Declare: “I know that my Redeemer lives. Therefore, I will not give up hope.” 4️⃣ Surrender your past: Give your failures, disappointments, regrets, and painful experiences to God and trust Him to redeem your story. 5️⃣ Strengthen someone's faith: Encourage someone who is passing through a difficult season with the message: “Your Redeemer lives.” 6️⃣ Refuse hopelessness: Whenever negative thoughts arise today, consciously remind yourself of God's faithfulness. 7️⃣ End the day with thanksgiving: Thank God for His redemption, preservation, mercy, and the hope you have in Him. 🔥*Prayer:* Heavenly Father, I thank You because You are my living Redeemer. Like Job, I declare today that I know that my Redeemer lives! Even when I do not understand my circumstances, help me to trust You. When I am weak, strengthen me. When I am discouraged, renew my hope. When I cannot see the way forward, remind me that You are already there. Lord, redeem every area of my life that needs Your intervention. Redeem my time, opportunities, efforts, relationships, work, ministry, studies, and every good purpose You have placed within me. Bring restoration where there has been loss and renewal where there has been weakness. Turn painful experiences into testimonies and use my story for Your glory. Protect my family and establish everything concerning us according to Your perfect will. Help me never to allow my circumstances to become greater than my faith in You. Give me the grace to stand firm like Job and continue trusting You until my change comes. I know that my Redeemer lives, and because He lives, I have hope for tomorrow. In Jesus' mighty name. THE PILGRIMS GUIDE  SATURDAY AUGUST 22, 2026 STRENGTH THROUGH HIS SPIRIT  A WORD FROM THE WORD: "That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,." Ephesians 3:16 NKJV. In this life, especially as a believing child of God, there are battles that you cannot win by physical strength, emotional intelligence, mental intelligence or willpower. Your true victory begins in your inner man, the very spiritual core of your being. When your inner man, powered by God's Spirit is strong, external situations and circumstances would surely lose their power to overwhelm you. Paul the apostle, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit had a clear understanding of this truth, and so his prayers were not for external blessings, but for inner strength. Reasons for this are simple: When your inner man is strengthened, the following (though not exhaustive will definitely be evident. 1). You will endure and overcome challenges without breaking down. 2). You will firmly withstand situations and circumstances that overwhelmed others. 3). Your view will always be from God’s perspective instead of reactionary actions resulting from fear. 4). Your demeanour and walk will be in anchored in peace even in times of turbulence. So many lives, even that of Christians, are in disarray because their inner man is not strengthened by God's Spirit. One of the mistakes God's children make is to daily feed their bodies, and neglect and starve their inner man, yet expect to walk in victory. The Holy Spirit helps you draw strength from Him through prayer, God's Word, worship, and a consistent walk with God (Jude 20). Your inner man receives supernatural strength when your spirit is fortified, and you become unshakable. Won't you rather draw strength for your inner man through His Spirit? PRAYER BULLETS: Father LORD, strengthen me in my inner man by Your Spirit. Renew my courage, fortify my faith, and fill me with divine strength for every assignment You have given me. Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’  For a lot of people, God is an uncaring, mean judge who takes no interest in the lives of people struggling to survive. But nothing is further from the truth. Today’s verse is a great example of just how much He cares for us. Our God does love us, even those people who are caught up in lives of sin and shame. And He wants what is best for us.  God doesn’t want anyone to die, good or bad. He wants them to cease doing the bad things in their lives and instead repent and turn to Him. He told us in this verse just how He feels about the death of those who are wicked. He takes no pleasure in their deaths at all because He doesn’t want any to perish, but instead, for all to come to know Him and be saved.  He made a vow to the Israelites, spoken through the prophet Ezekiel. He said “As surely as I live…” This was an undisputed fact for the Israelites. They knew God existed and for Him to make a vow, it was serious business. And God is always faithful, always following through with what He said He would do. In this case, He vowed that He took no pleasure in the punishing or death of the wicked and sin filled people. He wanted them to repent, to turn from their ways, and to live.  He even said, “Turn! Turn…” The emphasis on the word turn, spoken twice, showed the Israelites that He was giving them the opportunity to change their behavior and transform their lives. This clearly demonstrated that He is a merciful God, giving grace when it is not deserved. Even when we feel weighed down by our mistakes, He offers us another chance. He extends His hand and pulls us back up, setting our feet on the ground once more. He is truly a patient, waiting God who wants none to perish, but all to come to be redeemed and made righteous once again (2 Peter 3:8-9). Despite His grace and mercy and His long standing patience, we must also remember that He is a just God. He will judge people accordingly. If we are living in sin, He will bring judgement to us and it will not be pleasant.  Turn from your sin today. Accept His grace and mercy and let your life be transformed and let yourself be made righteous. Don’t wait. There is no telling when He will return, when He will judge, or how long it might be in the meantime. JEHOVAH TSIDKENU—The Lord Our Righteousness. ❤️ There are days when the weight of our mistakes tries to convince us that we could never be worthy of God’s love. But the cross tells a different story. We are not made right with God because we have lived perfectly, worked hard enough, or earned His approval. We are made right because Jesus took our sin upon Himself and clothed us in His righteousness. “This is the name by which He will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.” — Jeremiah 23:6 At the cross, our guilt met His grace. Our shame met His mercy. Our brokenness met His perfect love. We no longer have to hide from the Father—we can come boldly before Him, covered by what Christ has done. Today, stop trying to prove that you are worthy. Lay every failure at the feet of Jesus and receive the gift only He can give. Not my righteousness, but His. Not my perfection, but His grace. Daily Bible Lesson. YOUR PAST DOES NOT DISQUALIFY YOU John: 4:13–18, 28–29 "Lord, quiet my heart as I spend these few minutes with You. Help me set aside the burden of past mistakes, regret, or shame. Open my eyes to see how Your grace covers my entire history, and remind me that my past is never a barrier to Your purpose for my life. Amen." In the ancient Near East, women gathered water at the well during the cool early morning or late evening. It was a social, shared routine. But in John 4, a Samaritan woman comes to Jacob’s well at noon—the hottest, most unforgiving hour of the day. She wasn't avoiding the heat; she was avoiding the people. Her life was marked by brokenness: five previous husbands, and a current living arrangement that offered no security or honor in her community. She carried the weight of public judgment, self-reliance, and isolation. When Jesus asked her for a drink, He broke three major cultural barriers at once: social (men didn't speak to women publicly), religious/ethnic (Jews avoided Samaritans), and moral (rabbinic traditions avoided public interaction with people of ill repute). Jesus didn't ignore her past. In fact, He directly addressed it: “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” — John 4:16–18 Notice how Jesus speaks: He states facts without condemnation. He exposes her true condition not to humiliate her, but to show her that He knows everything about her and still wants to offer her living water. Many people live under the impression that God only uses those with pristine backgrounds. We assume that past failures, bad choices, or deep regret relegate us to the spiritual sidelines. The Samaritan woman’s story flips that assumption completely: Full Exposure Leads to Full Acceptance: Jesus knew her complete history before He started the conversation. God never looks at your past and says, "I didn't realize you did that." His offer of grace is given with full knowledge of your worst moments. From Hiding to Witnessing: After meeting Jesus, the woman left her water jar behind—the very symbol of her daily burden and isolation—and ran back into the city she had been avoiding. A Voice for the City: The very town that judged her became her mission field. “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony” (John 4:39). Your past does not disqualify you from God's love or His purpose. In God’s hands, the very mess you tried to hide can become the message that points others to freedom. Take a moment to reflect or write down your thoughts on these questions: 1. What past mistake or area of regret do you tend to hold onto, assuming it limits how God can use you? 2. How does knowing that Jesus fully understood the woman's past before offering her living water change how you view His offer to you? "Father, thank You that my past does not dictate my future in Your Kingdom. Thank You that You see every flaw, every regret, and every mistake, yet You still call me, love me, and offer me living water. Give me the courage to leave my 'water jar' of shame behind and walk confidently in the purpose You have for me today. In Jesus' name, Amen."
