EUPHORIA Devotional (The spirit of joy, an ecstasy that comes from God) August 27, 2025 BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING REV. AROME E. TOKULA Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his BURDEN SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING.” The anointing is the power of God that removes yokes from people’s necks and burdens from off their shoulders. Sicknesses, oppression and poverty are yokes and burdens that the devil puts on people but thank God for the anointing of His Spirit. The Bible tells in Acts 10:38 that this yoke-removing, burden-removing power was upon Jesus and through this anointing, He was able to do good to many by healing their sicknesses and freeing all that were oppressed by the devil. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and this same anointing is still available today to do good by destroying any kind of sickness, satanic manipulation and oppression. The Bible says the yoke will be destroyed or obliterated by the anointing. The Bible didn’t say that the yoke will be destroyed because you have a university degree. It won’t be destroyed because you visited a renowned doctor. (I don’t have a problem with doctors, I believe there are anointed doctors). Financial institutions or political affiliations cannot destroy yokes because the answer to yokes and burdens is the anointing. The New International Version renders Isaiah 10:27 thus: “In that day their burden will be lifted from your shoulders, their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken BECAUSE YOU HAVE GROWN SO FAT.” This gives us the picture of someone outgrowing something such that it no longer fits. This means when the anointing comes certain things like sickness and disease will no longer fit on you! By the power of the anointing, you are fattened (in the spirit) that you outgrow sickness. In those days, yokes were put on the necks of animals to plough farms but a time comes when those yokes don’t fit on the necks of those animals any longer because they become so fat. Do you remember the clothes you used to wear when you were in your teenage years? If you try wearing them; what do you think will happen? I am sure they will be ‘destroyed!’ It is not the clothes that changed, it is you that has changed. In the same way, the anointing changes you! 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 says, “Do not be YOKED together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between CHRIST AND BELIAL? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?” (NIV) This scripture draws clear lines between righteousness and wickedness, light and darkness, CHRIST and BELIAL and the believer and the unbeliever. It says they can’t be YOKED together. Now the word ‘Christ’ means ‘the anointed One’ or ‘the anointing.’ It means that the believer is righteousness, light and Christ. As a child of God, you are CHRIST. The anointing is IN you and you cannot be yoked with ‘Belial’ – satan. There’s no communion between Christ and between Belial- because sickness emanates from Belial and healing and health come from Christ. Verse 16 says “…and what agreement has the TEMPLE OF GOD with idols.* Your body is now the temple of God. Sickness cannot dwell in you. You have become too big for that germ, virus or bacteria in the name of Jesus DECLARE The anointing is IN me. Christ dwells in me by the Holy Spirit. I am the temple of God and sickness and disease cannot reside in me. I’m too big to be sick so I command my body to be whole and function according to perfection in the name of Jesus.
