I think some Christians just shouldn't read the Bible as an other religious book but as God's eternal Word with the desire to grow as it enters us. While it's good to read through Genesis to Revelation, it is even more essential to search through the scriptures concerning certain matters in our lives. What does the Bible say about prayer? You can't definitely tell but yet we vague pray and assume we're doing the right thing the right way. This also applies to other matters like finance, faith, social relationships and others. For prayer specifically, I think every young Believer has to sit down and search through scriptures to see the mind of God on the subject. Prayer is beautiful labour but we know the labour of a fool warries him. 'Fool' is not a curse in scriptures but the description of the state of a person without the knowledge of God's Word. This is why prayer is very unpleasant or burdensome to so many young persons especially around my age. Sermon: When You Are Poor, But God Sees You Beloved, I want to talk to you who are counting coins tonight, who lie awake wondering about school fees, rent, and the next meal. The world may pass you by because your pockets are light. But heaven has not passed you by. 1. The Lord is the Helper of the Poor Isaiah 41:17 says, “When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst, I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them.” God names Himself in this verse. He does not say “maybe I will help.” He says “I will answer.” He sees the lack. He hears the cry. You are not forgotten. The same God who fed Elijah by the brook and multiplied oil for the widow in Zarephath still provides. Psalm 34:6, “This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.” 2. Be Poor in Spirit, Not Just Poor in Pocket Jesus begins His teaching in Matthew 5:3 with, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Being “poor in spirit” means this: I have nothing to bring to God but my need, and I bring it anyway. It is the place of humility where pride breaks and faith begins. The world measures you by bank balance. God measures you by a heart that depends on Him. Do not let lack of finance make you bitter. Let it make you bow. Because the moment you bow, God lifts. 3. Seek First, and God Will Add Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Jesus knew we worry about food, clothes, and money. So He gives us order. First the Kingdom. First righteousness. First trust. Then He promises, “all these things will be added.” That means God intends to satisfy you in both places: Physical needs: Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Spiritual needs: John 6:35, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger.” He does not want you starved in body or in soul. 4. The World May Ignore You, But God Will Not The world often respects titles, influence, and finance. But God has a history of choosing the overlooked. He chose David from the sheepfold. He chose the disciples from the nets. He chose you. James 2:5, “Has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom?” Your instability is not your identity. You are an heir. You are seen. You are loved. How Do We Live This Out? Cry out: Like the psalmist, bring your need to God daily. He listens. Seek first: Put prayer, Word, and obedience before panic. Righteousness is your anchor. Trust His provision: Give thanks for today’s bread. Manna came one day at a time. Walk in generosity: Even with little, share. A generous heart is a rich heart before God. Prayer for the Poor and Needy Father, You are the Helper of the poor. You see every need in this room and in every home listening. Forgive us for worrying more than trusting. Teach us to be poor in spirit, fully dependent on You. Meet every physical need, food, rent, school, health, and meet every spiritual need, peace, joy, strength. Satisfy us with Yourself so we lack nothing that truly matters. We believe Your Word: You will supply all our needs in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Final Word to Strengthen You Your 40 years in the wilderness may feel long. But God used that season to train Israel in dependence. He will use this season to train you in righteousness too. Do not despise the small beginning. The Lord who fed 5,000 with 5 loaves can do exceedingly abundantly for you. Hold on. Keep seeking. Keep trusting. The Helper of the poor has not forgotten you.

THE MONEY’S MIND The Money Is a Person By Omodolapo Ogunye Before we can properly discuss money, wealth, finance and economics, there is a more fundamental question we must ask: Who is the Money? We have been taught to think of money as a thing—a currency, an asset, a medium of exchange, a store of value. But Scripture gives us another way of seeing. In Song of Solomon 5:11, the Beloved is described: “His head is purest gold.” This is a remarkable description. Gold is precious. Gold carries value. Gold has been used throughout human civilisation as a store of wealth and a monetary asset. Yet in this passage, gold is not merely an economic object. Gold is used to describe a Person. And the Scriptures testify that the Person of the Word is revealed throughout Scripture. Jesus said: “These are the Scriptures that testify about me.” — John 5:39 This gives us the foundation for The Money’s Mind: The Money is a Person. The Money is the Word. And if the Money is the Word, then the Money has a Mind. The question, therefore, is no longer simply: “What is money?” The deeper question becomes: “What is the Mind of the Word concerning money, wealth, finance and economics?” --- THE BODY OF THE WORD IS ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL This revelation becomes even more significant when we examine the descriptions of the Body of the Word. In Revelation 1, John sees the glorified Christ with feet like bronze glowing in a furnace and eyes like blazing fire. His feet reveal a way. His eyes reveal sight. His head, in Song of Solomon, is described as purest gold. We therefore begin to see three dimensions of the Body of the Word: The Word has a way. The Word has sight. The Word has an economic and financial identity. The Word is therefore not disconnected from the material and economic realities of the earth. The Word has implications for how we see value, how we build, how we produce, how we steward resources, how we create wealth and how nations develop their economic capacity. This is why the economic revelation of the Word cannot be reduced to a collection of biblical principles about giving, saving or prosperity. The revelation is about a Person. --- THE MONEY HAS A MIND Every economic system has a mind behind it. Markets operate according to assumptions about value. Businesses operate according to ideas about production and human need. Investments are based on judgments about the future. Governments make economic decisions according to their understanding of resources, productivity and national development. There is always a mind behind the money. But The Money’s Mind asks us to look beyond the minds that govern earthly financial systems. What is the Mind of the Word? How does the Word understand value? How does the Word understand wealth? How does the Word understand productivity? How does the Word understand resources? How does the Word create enduring wealth? How does the Word enter the economic environments of nations? These are not merely financial questions. They are questions about the Person of the Word. --- THE ECONOMIC WAY OF GOD Proverbs 3:16 says: “In her left hand are riches and honor.” Proverbs 8:18 says: “With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.” The language is unmistakably economic. But the Scriptures testify of the Person of the Word. Therefore, riches, honor, wealth and prosperity must be understood within the wisdom and order revealed through Him. This changes the way we think about wealth. The question is no longer merely: How can I acquire money? It becomes: What wisdom produces wealth that can endure? There is a difference between possessing money and possessing the capacity to create value. There is a difference between receiving wealth and possessing the wisdom to preserve, multiply and transmit it. There is a difference between financial success and enduring economic capacity. The Word therefore presents an economic way that goes beyond immediate accumulation. It points toward enduring wealth. --- THE MONEY’S MIND This is the reason for the title of this series. The Money is not merely a thing. The Money is a Person. The Money is the Word. And therefore: The Money has a Mind. The Money’s Mind is an exploration of the economic and financial Mind of the Word—the revelation of the Word concerning value, wealth, productivity, finance and the economic destinies of nations. The starting point is therefore not: “Where is the money? It is: “Who is the Money?” Because when we discover the Person, we can begin to discover the Mind. And when we discover the Mind, we can begin to understand the Way. The Body of the Word is the economic and financial way of the Lord. The Money is the Word. SMART BOUNDARIES: BIBLICAL WISDOM ON NATIONS, CHURCHES, AND FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST 1/ Proverbs 20:16 in the NASB 1995 reads: "Take his garment when he becomes surety for a stranger; And for foreigners, hold him in pledge." This ancient proverb gives us essential wisdom for our money, our country, and our personal walk with Jesus Christ. 2/ In basic terms, being surety means guaranteeing someone else's debt. In Traditional Judaism, famous scholars like Rashi explain that if a man is foolish enough to co-sign for a stranger without collateral, the court must seize his cloak as a deposit. You cannot pledge your hard-earned assets to an unvetted stranger without destroying your own household. 3/ Today, many political movements misuse Bible verses about helping the stranger. In Old Testament law, welcoming foreigners always required them to assimilate, obey local laws, and show good character. Foreigners were allowed to join the community, but they had to prove their worthiness first rather than demand free support. 4/ Socialist and progressive policies twist these scriptures to force taxpayers to pay for unchecked migration. Forcing citizens to act as financial guarantors for unproven strangers violates biblical stewardship. International laws cannot overrule a sovereign nation, because forcing a country to put foreign demands ahead of its own citizens forces that government to betray its people. A house divided against itself cannot stand. 5/ In Chabad and Chassidic thought, this verse carries a deeper spiritual meaning. The garment represents the soul's three tools: thought, speech, and action. The stranger represents the evil inclination, or Yetzer Hara, inside every person. 6/ When you surrender your thoughts, words, and actions to bad habits or false ideas, you become surety for a stranger. You allow lower impulses to take control, letting the evil inclination strip away your spiritual garments until you cross over from divine truth into spiritual bankruptcy. 7/ This same betrayal happens in controlling and abusive Christian ministries. When leaders twist Scripture and mix it with secular psychology, human philosophies, or power games, they give in to their evil inclination. By replacing God's truth with man's rules, these leaders host the stranger of worldly deception and cross over into the realm of idolatry. 8/ Conviction must hit our hearts here. In 1 Timothy 5:8, the Apostle Paul warns: "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." To abandon your household, church, or nation to finance reckless, unproven outside interests is a direct compromise of the Christian faith. 9/ Hear this warning: foolish sentimentality will destroy your life, your family, and your country. If you allow abusive leaders to control your mind, or if you support laws that bankrupt your nation to feed unvetted demands, you are giving away your garments to a stranger and walking into ruin. 10/ Here are four practical instructions to live out this truth in Jesus Christ: First, guard the garments of your soul by keeping your thoughts, words, and actions aligned strictly with Scripture. Second, test every pastor and teacher, rejecting any ministry that uses secular psychology or manipulation to control you. Third, practice true Christian charity voluntarily, but demand law, vetting, and accountability before giving resources. Fourth, stand up for lawful borders and national sovereignty, honoring God's design for order and protection. 11/ Be encouraged! Setting firm boundaries is not mean or unloving; it is true biblical wisdom. When you align your life with the Lord Jesus Christ, He gives you the strength to stand strong against deception, protect your home, and walk in total peace. 12/ A Prayer for Wisdom and Boundaries: Lord God, thank You for Your holy Word and the wisdom found in Proverbs. In the name of Jesus Christ, I ask You to help me guard the garments of my soul: my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Convict my heart whenever I give in to the evil inclination or let false ideas take control. Give me the discernment to reject abusive leaders and twisted doctrines that cross over into idolatry. It could be bad habits, telling lies, living a life of pretense, using abusive words, even after you confess to be born again. Isaac in our Bible passage never knew that his father (Abraham) told the same lies at the same place, and this continued in their family lineage unconsciously. Jacob, with the support of his mother, also told a lie to his father. Your sin will always follow after you, if you do not repent of it. Yours might be anger or hatred towards others. Jesus wants to remove such sins from your life and family lineage. *"And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live"* (Deuteronomy 30:6). *Tell Jesus to root out the adamic nature of besetting sin, and make you pure within and without. First there is obedience to the Word of God which leads to abundance of blessings and victory over the adversaries. Due to their abundance, they went back into idolatry and sinned after which there came oppression and defeat by the adversary nations for many years. In their afflictions, they cried to God and God showed His mercy and restored them. After restoration to blessings, then backsliding set in and the cycle continued to repeat itself. Such is the life of a believer who is not stable in the Lord. The history of Israel reveals both the severity and the goodness of God. When God's people departed from Him, they suffered oppression because of their disobedience. Yet, God never abandoned His covenant people forever. He promised to judge the cruel nations that afflicted them and to restore the repentant remnant. The text teaches that backsliding attracts divine discipline, wicked oppressors will not escape God's judgment, and sincere repentance always opens the door to God's mercy and restoration. *1. The Retribution for Backsliding* a. Israel is compared to a scattered sheep driven away by fierce lions. Israel, under the shepherd of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, was supposed to be an unconquerable ruler over every nation on earth since they were promised to be the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). They only enjoyed this blessing for a few moments under some of their good kings like David, Solomon, Hezekiah and Josiah. Why was the enjoyment of their promised blessings always short lived? Sin of different forms or different shades. What were the consequences) of their sins? Defeat and oppression from the adversaries. b. The Assyrian and Babylonian empires became instruments of God's chastisement because of Israel's persistent rebellion. Sin always weakens believers, exposes them to the enemy and robs them of the peace and blessings of God. Backsliding never leaves anyone better than before. A backslider deprives himself of the best of God. Though God disciplines His children, His purpose is to bring them to repentance and renewed fellowship with Him. *Question* Have you allowed any form of backsliding to expose your life to unnecessary suffering and spiritual defeat? *2. The Retribution for the Brutal* a. Although God used Babylon as an instrument of judgment, He also held Babylon accountable for its cruelty, pride and violence. *"Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria"*. The Lord declared that He would bring desolation upon the land, and trap the nation because it arrogantly opposed Him. No oppressor, persecutor or wicked person escapes God's righteous judgment. Those who exploit others, fight against God's people or exalt themselves against the Lord will ultimately face His justice. There are those who set up snares for God's people and those who are responsible for the fall of God's people. Such people will definitely be judged by God. b. *"Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!"* (Matthew 18:3). Those who cause others to offend God or fall into sin will definitely be recompensed by God. *Question* Are you involved directly or indirectly ensnare, beloved of God, to fall by your life, compartments etc.? *3. Restoration from Backsliding* The marvels of God's mercy is God's grace and willingness to totally restore those who are backsliders and are sincerely repentant. Nobody is doomed for destruction except those who willingly reject the mercy of God. The final condemnation of sinners in hell is so severe that God is willing to forgive no matter the gravity of the offence and backsliding. The final word to His people was not destruction, but restoration. He promised to bring Israel back to their own pasture where they would enjoy abundance and satisfaction. Even more wonderful, He declared that their sins would be sought, but not found because He would pardon the remnant whom He preserved. This points to God's abundant mercy toward all who genuinely repent. Through His forgiveness, the repentant sinner is restored to fellowship, usefulness and spiritual fruitfulness. *Question* Have you genuinely returned to God so that you can experience His complete forgiveness and restoration? *Prayer Points* 1.Father, deliver me from every form of backsliding and keep my heart steadfast in my walk with You 🙏. 2.Lord, forgive all my sins, restore my spiritual strength, and renew my fellowship with You 🙏. 3.Help me to be watchful so that I will never be a source of the fall of anybody 🙏. 4.Heavenly Father, let Your mercy restore every blessing, opportunity, and spiritual inheritance each of Your children have lost through disobedience, in Jesus' name 🙏. *HYMN:* I have decided to follow Jesus *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EPHESIANS 4-6.l. 2. Deepen our love for each other, and help us to be patient and kind in all our interactions. Help us to love like You do. Fill our hearts with Your love—then we will love truly. Destroy all selfishness in us and give us the mind of Christ Jesus. Help us to bear one another's burdens and to be patient with one another. Make our home more and more like Heaven. Give us the grace to help each other grow spiritually, to make each other holier, and to encourage each other to love and good works. May we be a means of grace to one another.
