• Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    WEDNESDAY AUGUST 19, 2026.
    "TRUST YOUR BIBLE, IT'S TRUE!"

    ‘…that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled...’ Matthew 26:56 NIV

    THE DEATH, burial and resurrection of Jesus fulfilled no less than twenty-nine different Old Testament prophecies. The odds of that happening are virtually impossible! Mathematician Peter Stoner explains it this way: ‘If you were to cover the state of Texas two feet deep in pound coins, then on one, place a mark. What is the probability that a blindfolded person could, on their first attempt, select that coin? That’s the likelihood of just eight prophecies being fulfilled in one lifetime. And Jesus fulfilled twenty-nine of them in one day!’ Let’s look at some of the prophecies He fulfilled: 1) ‘…They pierced My hands and… feet’ (Psalms 22:16 NKJV). 2) ‘They divide my garments…and…cast lots’ (Psalms 22:18 NKJV). 3) ‘…in that day…I will make the sun go down at noon, and…darken the earth in…daylight’ (Amos 8:9 NKJV). Jesus predicted both His death and His resurrection. He told His critics, ‘…“Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”…the temple he had spoken of was his body’ (John 2:19-21 NIV). Jesus orchestrated every event, including Judas’ betrayal, the high priest’s hypocrisy, and Peter’s denial. Why? ‘That the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.’ So you can trust your Bible because it’s true. And something else is true too. God is ‘…able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…’ (Ephesians 3:20 NIV). Note the words ‘immeasurably more.’ What seems impossible to you at the moment, is all in a day’s work for Him. So start trusting Him to work on your behalf.

    *THE PRICE OF DWELLING TOGETHER IN LOVE AND UNITY*

    *TEXT:* GENESIS 33:5-15.

    5 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.
    6 Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.
    7 And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.
    8 And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.
    9 And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.
    10 And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
    11 Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.
    12 And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.
    13 And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.
    14 Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.
    15 And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.

    *Timeless Truth:*
    _"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"_ (Psalm 133:1).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Love and unity are the indispensable catalysts of human relationships that make life worthwhile. Without these two graces, life ceases to have meaning and will breed heartaches, emotional troubles, bitter enmity and rivalries, anguish of the soul and all sorts of relational problems. The fulfilment and joy of natural and spiritual families, communities, nations etc rest on love and unity. *"Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity"*. Satan's delight is to fuel relational problems and thereby make the earth another hell for relations. When the foundation of happy relationship and co-existence is destroyed, what shall the righteous do? The foundation of a happy and united family life of Isaac was broken and it had its toll on the children. Parental disunity and favoritism led to bitter rivalry between Esau and Jacob. The result was not a sweet experience for each member of the family. After 20 years of separation between the children, the need for peace and unity, so as to end the ugly experience became imperative. They must be commended that they did not die in that situation. They allowed God and let go of their differences. What can we learn from them about how to build the broken walls and foundation of life and unity among brethren? Read on.

    *1. Bridge the Communication Gap*

    a. The main reason Jesus came to pay the ultimate price of redemption is to break the communication barrier between man and God due to sin. Once that barrier is broken, it will be possible to break the communication barrier among fellow brethren. The fact that Jesus paid this price underscores the importance of love and unity among brethren. No man can claim to be godly without conscious and deliberate commitment to living in peace and love with fellow brethren and neighbours. A graceless person will be content with disunity and loveless relationships while true grace makes true reconciliation possible. Jacob initiated it and this shows he had grace. He first settled the problem in the spiritual realm by wrestling with God on a lonely night at Jabbok. His personal encounter with God first changed his life, blew his ego to the wind of heaven, brought a deep transformation into his life and melted his hardened heart of deception. The change must start with you. The godly who desires to live at peace and pleases God must be ready to pray through until his heart is melted with the grace to forgive, forget and fall into the love of God. Ego or self is often the main problem that must bow in order to live at peace and unity.
    b. For the first time after 20 years, Jacob opted to take the lead by asking for a face to face meeting with his estranged brother and bridge the communication gap. *"And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee?"*. Take the godly initiative and step: bridge the Communication Gap. Sink all your pride, anger, hatred, bitterness and desire for revenge at the cross and take the initiative. Unknown to him, Esau, though a violent man, secretly desired peace too. It only takes one to bell the cat. Surprisingly, the God of peace that had broken Jacob at the altar of prayer and grace had also dealt with Esau too. Broken communication became mended. *"And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant"*. In bringing peace to a troubled or broken relationship, there may be the need to bring a third party that is respected by both sides and has the wisdom and grace to mend relationships.

    *Question*

    Are you willing to please and bridge the communication gap with someone? How do you want to demonstrate your willingness?

    *2. Bind Your Character with Grace*

    a. Jacob had trained all his wives and children on how to show respect and give honour to the one who had been hurt and might be breathing out revenge and anger. It was not the time prove who was wrong or right. In reconciliation, self defence is minimized. *"Why do ye not rather accept wrong? Why not rather let yourselves suffer wrong and be deprived of what is your due? Why do you not rather take wrong?"* (1Corinthians 6:7). The crucified saint will be willing to accept blame even when he is not convinced that he is wrong for the sake of peace. This is where grace is also needed. *"Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves"*. All the people with Jacob went humbly and bowed to their Daddy's brother. Jacob had depoisoned the hearts of his people so that they could sincerely give the needed and expected honour to Esau. The peaceful person will not be a hypocritical person who will pretend to seek for peace and unity and privately he will be poisoning the hearts of others.
    b. Humility is an essential part of living in love and unity and building again love and unity in a broken relationship. Many apologies, though may be simple, have a way of healing hurt hearts and broken bones and barriers in relationships. It takes humility to bend when the other person is standing on his points which may even be wrong and unacceptable altogether. *"The fruit of peace is shown by them which make peace"*. *"Blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called the children of GOD"*.

    *Question*

    Are you willing to pay the price of love and unity so that your life receives the immeasurable blessings of obedience to God or you still want to stick to your gun and end up in perdition?

    *3. Bless Your Companion With Gifts*

    God paid the price of reconciliation with man by giving us the gift of Jesus Christ and all other spiritual and earthly gifts and blessings. True reconciliation must also be sealed up with exchange and acceptance of godly and helpful gifts. Jacob was smart to have prepared gifts for Esau ahead of their encounter. In fact, at first, Esau wanted to wisely reject the gifts. If he had refused, then know that the problem was only solved superficially. *"And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord"*. The Scripture says, *"A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men"* (Proverbs 18:16). It is not how much that is affordable, but the heart of love and reconciliation that is behind it. Jacob insisted that the gift should be taken though Esau himself was well to do. *"Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it"*. Look at the choice of words of wisdom and humility of Jacob. He was not using words that will fuel the ember of hatred, but words that will calm down nerves. *"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger"* (Proverbs 15:1). Apart from exchanging and acceptance of gifts and visits, true reconciliation will also be manifested by willingness to walk together and experience godly partnership. *"And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go"*.

    *Question*

    How genuine was your previous reconciliation with others?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Father, examine my heart, expose and remove all tendencies in me contrary to abiding in love and unity .
    2.Lord, give me a definite life changing encounter like Jacob that will make me full of grace to initiate and advance peace and love in my family, church and community .
    3.Make me a peacemaker and promoter of reconciliation among people .
    4.Lord, visit all families with broken relationships and help all to open up to true communication and reconciliations .

    *After the horrific genocide in 1994, Rwanda focused heavily on national reconciliation. The Gacaca Courts, a system of community-based justice, allowed perpetrators of the genocide to confess their crimes and ask for forgiveness, while victims could voice their suffering. The emphasis on unity and a shared vision for rebuilding the country contributed to Rwanda's remarkable recovery and the avoidance of further ethnic conflict. Although there are ongoing challenges, the national narrative of "unity and reconciliation" has continued to play a central role in Rwanda's politics and society.*

    *Jacob had lived for years under the shadow of a broken relationship with his brother, Esau. Their past was filled with deceit, betrayal, and conflict. Having stolen Esau's birth right and blessing, the resultant rift was so deep that Esau had vowed to kill Jacob. After years of separation, Jacob now had to face Esau, but with trepidation and fear of retribution. However, what ensued was a stunning picture of grace and a lasting reconciliation, with no record of relapse into hostilities.*

    *Their reconciliation must have been mutual. That "... Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept" showed his willingness to forgive Jacob and let go of his anger and bitterness, and the pain of the past - a rare display of grace. On the other hand, Jacob exemplifies a posture of humility. His bowing before Esau, offering gifts of homage, and acknowledging his wrongs demonstrate the humility required for true reconciliation.*

    *We are called to the same grace and reconciliation that Jacob and Esau experienced. Perhaps there are areas where we need to humble ourselves and seek forgiveness. We are called to extend grace, even when the hurt is deep.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29).*_
    The Bible refers to John the Baptist as the forerunner who came to prepare the way for the Lord. Though John was born before Jesus, he was not greater than Jesus. In fact, John himself declared that someone greater than him would come after, and he was not even qualified to untie his shoe latchet.
    This is to show the high esteem in which John rightly placed Jesus. John proclaimed the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world. He told the people that Jesus was before him, meaning that Jesus had been before the time of creation.
    John was baptizing people in River Jordan, and it was he who also baptized Jesus Christ. John did not know Jesus, but the Holy Spirit descended and stayed on Christ at His baptism. He diverted attention away from himself, and made men to see Jesus Christ as *"...the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."*
    *Do you know Jesus? Can you point to Him that He is your Friend, Saviour and Lord? If your answer is No, then surrender your life to Him, repent and ask Him to forgive you all your sins. Tell Him to be your Friend and tell others about Him everywhere you go.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but Manikya Kumar one thing [I do,] forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ⏤ Philippians 3:13-14
    Prayer is the acid test of devotion. ⏤ Samuel Chadwick
    O Lord, You’ve taught us through Your apostle to forget what lies behind and to reach forward to what lies ahead. Give us the grace to let go of the past and press on toward the goal of our high calling. Help us to cast aside every weight and the sins that so easily trip us up, and to run with endurance the race set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
    This world pulls us back, holding us from aspiring heavenward. May we have the strength to resist these earthly temptations and instead be drawn toward the blessings of a heavenly life. Help us to live more and more for the things that are unseen and eternal. Earthly things, though sweet and beautiful, are temporary—like flowers that are fragrant today but wilted tomorrow. May these fleeting blessings remind us of You and turn our thoughts to You. Let us not rest in these temporary joys or build our hopes on them. Instead, teach us to rest in You and build our hopes on the enduring rock of Your eternity. Then, no matter what earthly disaster or loss comes our way, we will be safe and secure in You, our unchanging God.
    As we step into the world today, fill our hearts with thoughts of Your love and grace. Go before us, lead us, and help us follow You wherever You guide. Give us wisdom to respond rightly in every situation. Grant us courage to face difficulties and overcome obstacles. And give us gentle hearts so we may be a blessing to others. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Apart from exchanging and acceptance of gifts and visits, true reconciliation will also be manifested by willingness to walk together and experience godly partnership. *"And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go"*. *Question* How genuine was your previous reconciliation with others? *Prayer Points* 1.Father, examine my heart, expose and remove all tendencies in me contrary to abiding in love and unity 🙏. 2.Lord, give me a definite life changing encounter like Jacob that will make me full of grace to initiate and advance peace and love in my family, church and community 🙏. 3.Make me a peacemaker and promoter of reconciliation among people 🙏. 4.Lord, visit all families with broken relationships and help all to open up to true communication and reconciliations 🙏. *HYMN:* Let love be among us *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 38-42. The Gacaca Courts, a system of community-based justice, allowed perpetrators of the genocide to confess their crimes and ask for forgiveness, while victims could voice their suffering. The emphasis on unity and a shared vision for rebuilding the country contributed to Rwanda's remarkable recovery and the avoidance of further ethnic conflict. Although there are ongoing challenges, the national narrative of "unity and reconciliation" has continued to play a central role in Rwanda's politics and society.* *Jacob had lived for years under the shadow of a broken relationship with his brother, Esau. Their past was filled with deceit, betrayal, and conflict. Having stolen Esau's birth right and blessing, the resultant rift was so deep that Esau had vowed to kill Jacob. After years of separation, Jacob now had to face Esau, but with trepidation and fear of retribution. However, what ensued was a stunning picture of grace and a lasting reconciliation, with no record of relapse into hostilities.* *Their reconciliation must have been mutual. That "... Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept" showed his willingness to forgive Jacob and let go of his anger and bitterness, and the pain of the past - a rare display of grace. On the other hand, Jacob exemplifies a posture of humility. His bowing before Esau, offering gifts of homage, and acknowledging his wrongs demonstrate the humility required for true reconciliation.* *We are called to the same grace and reconciliation that Jacob and Esau experienced. Perhaps there are areas where we need to humble ourselves and seek forgiveness. We are called to extend grace, even when the hurt is deep.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Reconciliation draws the curtain on a dark past and opens a door for a brighter future.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *JOB 39-42*📜📜 Enduring Reconciliation https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 232: BLEST BE THE TIE THAT BINDS; GHS 117: SHOW A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE AND KINDNESS; AND GHS 75: THE CHURCH'S IS ONE FOUNDATION* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna19thAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [18/08, 9:45 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```WEDNESDAY 19TH AUGUST, 2026``` *SNUB SATAN* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️👿👺❌🫷🏽🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:JAMES 4:4-8```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do,] forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ⏤ Philippians 3:13-14 Prayer is the acid test of devotion. ⏤ Samuel Chadwick O Lord, You’ve taught us through Your apostle to forget what lies behind and to reach forward to what lies ahead. Give us the grace to let go of the past and press on toward the goal of our high calling. Help us to cast aside every weight and the sins that so easily trip us up, and to run with endurance the race set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. This world pulls us back, holding us from aspiring heavenward. May we have the strength to resist these earthly temptations and instead be drawn toward the blessings of a heavenly life. Help us to live more and more for the things that are unseen and eternal. Earthly things, though sweet and beautiful, are temporary—like flowers that are fragrant today but wilted tomorrow. May these fleeting blessings remind us of You and turn our thoughts to You. Let us not rest in these temporary joys or build our hopes on them. Instead, teach us to rest in You and build our hopes on the enduring rock of Your eternity. Then, no matter what earthly disaster or loss comes our way, we will be safe and secure in You, our unchanging God. As we step into the world today, fill our hearts with thoughts of Your love and grace. Go before us, lead us, and help us follow You wherever You guide. Give us wisdom to respond rightly in every situation. Grant us courage to face difficulties and overcome obstacles. And give us gentle hearts so we may be a blessing to others. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/45/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
  • Be a Peacemaker (Matthew 5:9)
    We live in a world where conflict is everywhere.
    Arguments happen in families.
    Friendships break over misunderstandings.
    People fight over opinions.
    Social media turns disagreements into battles.
    Sometimes, even Christians can become so focused on proving themselves right that they forget to show the character of Christ.
    But Jesus gives us a different calling:
    “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
    Notice that Jesus didn't say, “Blessed are the people who win every argument.”
    He said:
    “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
    Being a peacemaker doesn't mean avoiding every difficult conversation.
    It doesn't mean pretending that wrong is right.
    It doesn't mean allowing people to mistreat you.
    And it doesn't mean remaining silent when something needs to be addressed.
    Being a peacemaker means choosing a response that seeks reconciliation rather than revenge.
    Sometimes peace begins with listening.
    Before responding in anger, listen.
    Before assuming someone's intentions, ask questions.
    Before posting something hurtful, pause.
    Before repeating someone's mistake to others, consider whether your words will help or destroy.
    The Bible reminds us that a gentle answer can turn away anger.
    Your words have power.
    You can use them to heal or to wound.
    To build or to tear down.
    To reconcile or to divide.
    Think about your relationships today.
    Is there someone you're angry with?
    Someone you haven't spoken to?
    Someone you need to forgive?
    Someone you need to apologize to?
    Maybe you've been waiting for the other person to make the first move.
    But sometimes following Jesus means having the courage to take the first step.
    Say:
    “I'm sorry.”
    Say:
    “Can we talk?”
    Say:
    “I forgive you.”
    Say:
    “Let's work this out.”
    Those words don't make you weak.
    They can demonstrate the strength of Christ working in you.
    Jesus Himself is our greatest example.
    He came to reconcile sinful humanity to God.
    The cross shows us that God doesn't simply ignore broken relationships.
    He made a way for reconciliation.
    And if we have received God's grace, we should become people who extend grace to others.
    So don't be the person who adds fuel to every argument.
    Don't spread gossip.
    Don't celebrate someone else's failure.
    Don't use social media to attack people.
    Don't allow pride to destroy relationships that could be restored.
    Instead, be the person who brings calm into chaotic situations.
    Be the person who listens.
    Be the person who encourages forgiveness.
    Be the person who speaks truth with love.
    Be the person who points people toward Christ.
    And remember:
    You cannot control how everyone responds to you.
    Your responsibility is to control your own response and pursue peace wherever it is possible.
    As Romans 12:18 teaches, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
    Sometimes peace will require boundaries.
    Sometimes it will require distance.
    Sometimes reconciliation won't be possible immediately.
    But even then, you can refuse to allow hatred to control your heart.
    Pray for those who hurt you.
    Give the situation to God.
    Choose grace over revenge.
    Choose wisdom over anger.
    Choose peace over pride.
    In a world that is quick to fight, be someone who brings the peace of Christ.
    Is there a relationship or conflict where you can take one step toward peace today?
  • Were you called “mature for your age” growing up?
    Maybe you were responsible, independent, the easy child, the peacemaker—the one who learned to read the room before you even understood why you were doing it.
    Those things can look like strength from the outside. But what happens when the strength you learned as a child follows you into adulthood?
  • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS
    SERMON TITLE:
    WARS AND CONFLICTS – PEACE AND PRAYER.
    We live in a generation filled with wars, conflicts, violence, terrorism, family disputes, political unrest, tribal hatred, and spiritual battles. Nations are fighting nations. Communities are divided. Homes that should be places of peace have become battlefields. Many people are asking, "Where is peace?"
    The answer is not found merely in stronger weapons or better negotiations. Lasting peace begins with God. While the world prepares for war, God's people must prepare for prayer.
    The Church is called to be a light in darkness, an ambassador of peace, and a house of prayer for all nations.
    > "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." — Matthew 5:9
    Key Bible Verses
    1. 2 Chronicles 7:14
    > "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray... then will I hear from heaven... and will heal their land.
    God's prescription for healing a troubled nation begins with humble prayer. National transformation starts with spiritual transformation.
    2. Philippians 4:6–7
    Paul teaches believers not to be consumed by fear and anxiety but to bring every concern before God in prayer. The result is God's peace, which guards both heart and mind.
    3. James 4:1–2
    James reveals that many conflicts begin with selfish desires, pride, envy, and uncontrolled passions. External wars often reflect internal battles.
    4. Psalm 122:6
    > "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem..."
    God commands His people to pray for cities, nations, leaders, and communities.
    Point 1: Every War Has a Spiritual Dimension
    Not every conflict begins on the battlefield. Many begin in the human heart.
    Satan delights in division because a divided people become weak. Whether in marriages, churches, communities, or nations, the enemy seeks to sow confusion.
    Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 that our ultimate struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil.
    Lesson: Fight spiritual battles with spiritual weapons.
    Point 2: Prayer Is More Powerful Than Panic
    Fear never solves problems.
    Prayer invites God's intervention where human strength reaches its limit.
    When believers pray:
    Heaven responds.
    Hearts change.
    Wisdom is released.
    Peace replaces fear.
    God makes a way where there seems to be none.
    Instead of spreading fear, Christians should spread faith.
    Point 3: God Calls Believers to Be Peacemakers
    Peace is not weakness.
    Peacemakers bring reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing.
    Jesus did not merely preach peace; He became our Peace.
    Christians should avoid:
    Gossip
    Bitterness
    Revenge
    Tribal hatred
    Religious intolerance
    Unforgiveness
    Instead, we should promote love, truth, justice, and forgiveness.
    Point 4: Revival Begins When God's People Pray
    Throughout Scripture, national revival followed sincere prayer.
    When the Church returns to prayer:
    Families are restored.
    Communities change.
    Leaders receive wisdom.
    Crime decreases.
    Hope returns.
    Prayer may not immediately stop every war, but it changes people, and changed people change nations.
    Biblical Case Study:
    King Jehoshaphat
    Text: 2 Chronicles 20
    Three powerful armies came against Judah.
    Humanly speaking, defeat was certain.
    Instead of relying solely on military strength, King Jehoshaphat proclaimed a national fast and called everyone to seek God.
    As the people worshipped and prayed, God fought for them.
    Their enemies turned against one another, and Judah won the battle without fighting in the usual way.
    Lesson:
    Some victories come not by human strength but through prayer, faith, and obedience.
    Practical Action Steps
    1. Make daily prayer a priority.
    2. Pray regularly for your family, community, and nation.
    3. Refuse to spread hatred, rumours, or division.
    4. Forgive those who offend you.
    5. Become an ambassador of Christ's peace wherever you go.
    6. Support efforts that promote justice, reconciliation, and unity.
    Deep Spiritual Insights
    Peace is first a condition of the heart before it becomes the condition of a nation.
    Prayer does not eliminate every battle, but it brings God's presence into every battle.
    God's greatest victories often begin on praying knees.
    A believer who prays consistently becomes a channel of God's peace in a troubled world.
    Questions for Reflection
    1. Am I promoting peace or contributing to conflict?
    2. How often do I pray for my nation and its leaders?
    3. Is there anyone I need to forgive today?
    4. When problems arise, do I panic first or pray first?
    5. What practical step can I take this week to become a peacemaker?
    Powerful Prayer Points
    1. Father, let Your peace rule in my heart through Christ Jesus.
    2. Lord, heal every family, church, and community divided by conflict.
    3. Father, frustrate every plan of violence, terrorism, and bloodshed in our nation.
    4. Grant wisdom, integrity, and justice to our leaders.
    5. Raise believers who will stand in the gap through faithful prayer.
    6. Destroy every spirit of hatred, bitterness, and revenge.
    7. Let revival begin in Your Church and spread across our land.
    8. Lord Jesus, make me an instrument of Your peace everywhere I go.
    Call to Action
    The world does not need more hatred—it needs more people who know how to pray. It does not need more voices fueling division—it needs disciples who reflect the peace of Christ.
    Today, choose to become a peacemaker. Commit yourself to a life of prayer. Stand in the gap for your family, your church, and your nation. As you do, trust that God is able to calm every storm, heal broken hearts, and establish His peace where conflict once reigned.
    "Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all." — 2 Thessalonians 3:16
    SERMON TOPIC:
    PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE
    "Living Together in Love, Unity, and the Fear of God"
    A Call to Wake Up
    We live in a generation where families are divided, communities are polarized, churches experience unnecessary conflicts, and nations are at war. Many people desire peace, yet few are willing to pay the price to maintain it.
    As Christians, we are not only called to enjoy peace—we are called to create it. Every believer should be a bridge-builder, not a divider; a healer, not a destroyer.
    God's desire is that His children become instruments of peace wherever they are.
    «Matthew 5:9
    "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."»
    A true child of God is recognized not only by what they believe, but also by the peace they spread.
    Key Bible Texts
    1. Romans 12:18
    «"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."»
    Paul teaches that while peace may not always depend entirely on us, we must do everything within our power to pursue it.
    2. Hebrews 12:14
    «"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."»
    Peace and holiness go together. A heart filled with bitterness cannot enjoy close fellowship with God.
    3. Psalm 133:1
    «"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"»
    Unity brings God's blessing and creates an atmosphere where His presence is experienced.
    4. John 13:35
    «"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."»
    Love is the foundation of peaceful coexistence and the greatest evidence of genuine discipleship.
    Point 1: Peace Begins in the Heart
    No one can give what they do not possess.
    A heart filled with anger, envy, hatred, jealousy, and pride cannot produce peace.
    Before God changes society, He changes individuals.
    When Christ rules your heart, peace becomes your lifestyle.
    Colossians 3:15
    «"Let the peace of God rule in your hearts."»
    Lesson:
    Inner peace produces outward peace.
    Point 2: Love is the Foundation of Peaceful Coexistence
    Peace is sustained by genuine love.
    Love forgives.
    Love overlooks offenses.
    Love seeks understanding instead of revenge.
    Love chooses unity over division.
    Where love dies, conflict begins.
    Where love lives, peace grows.
    Point 3: Forgiveness Breaks the Cycle of Conflict
    Many homes remain broken because people refuse to forgive.
    Unforgiveness is a prison that keeps both the offender and the offended in pain.
    Jesus forgave those who crucified Him.
    If Christ forgave us, we must forgive others.
    Ephesians 4:32
    «"Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another..."»
    Forgiveness does not excuse wrongdoing; it frees your heart from bitterness.
    Point 4: Respect Every Human Being
    Every person carries the image of God.
    Differences in tribe, language, culture, denomination, education, or social status should never become reasons for hatred.
    God created diversity but desires unity.
    Respect opens doors that pride can never open.
    Peaceful coexistence thrives where people value one another.
    Point 5: Be a Peacemaker
    Do not spread rumors.
    Do not fuel quarrels.
    Do not rejoice when others fall.
    Instead:
    - Speak words that heal.
    - Pray for those who hurt you.
    - Encourage reconciliation.
    - Build bridges instead of walls.
    Every believer should become an ambassador of God's peace.
    Biblical Case Study:
    Abraham and Lot (Genesis 13:5–12)
    Abraham and Lot's servants quarreled because of limited resources.
    Abraham, although older and more influential, chose peace over personal rights.
    He generously allowed Lot to choose the land first.
    His humility prevented conflict.
    Ironically, after choosing peace, God blessed Abraham even more abundantly.
    Lessons:
    - Humility protects relationships.
    - Peace often requires sacrifice.
    - God rewards those who pursue peace.
    Practical Action Steps
    1. Pray daily for a peaceful heart.
    2. Refuse to gossip or spread harmful information.
    3. Forgive those who have offended you.
    4. Speak gently, even during disagreements.
    5. Respect people regardless of their background.
    6. Settle conflicts quickly before they grow.
    7. Become known as someone who brings unity wherever you go.
    Deep Spiritual Insights
    - Satan thrives where division exists.
    - The Holy Spirit works where unity exists.
    - Peace is not weakness; it is spiritual strength under God's control.
    - Every conflict is an opportunity to demonstrate Christ's character.
    - A peaceful church becomes a powerful witness to the world.
    - A peaceful family becomes a testimony of God's grace.
    Questions for Reflection
    1. Am I known as a peacemaker or someone who creates conflict?
    2. Is there anyone I need to forgive today?
    3. Are my words promoting peace or causing division?
    4. Does my home reflect the peace of Christ?
    5. What practical step can I take this week to restore a broken relationship?
    Powerful Prayer Points
    1. Father, fill my heart with Your perfect peace in Jesus' name.
    2. Lord, remove every root of bitterness, hatred, envy, and unforgiveness from my life.
    3. Holy Spirit, help me to become a true peacemaker wherever I go.
    4. Let peace reign in my family, church, workplace, and community.
    5. Heal every broken relationship connected to my life.
    6. Deliver me from words and actions that promote division.
    7. Let the love of Christ overflow through me every day.
    8. Make me an ambassador of reconciliation and unity.
    9. Let every plan of the enemy to bring confusion and conflict be destroyed.
    10. May my life continually reflect the character of Jesus Christ
    Call to Action
    The world does not need more people who win arguments; it needs more people who win hearts. Christ did not call us to spread hatred but to spread His peace. Let your home become a place of peace. Let your church become a center of unity. Let your community see Christ through your love, humility, and forgiveness.
    As you leave today, make a deliberate decision to become a peacemaker. Speak words that heal, forgive those who hurt you, and let the peace of Christ reign in your heart. Remember, where peace dwells, God's presence is welcomed, His blessings are released, and His name is glorified.
    "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." (Matthew 5:9)
  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.
    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
    *DATE:*
    MONDAY 27TH JULY, 2026.
    *SUB-THEME:*
    THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.
    *TOPIC:*
    CIVIL UNREST.
    *TEXT:*
    2 SAMUEL 20:1-10.
    1. Now a troublemaker named Sheba son of Bikri, a Benjamite, happened to be there. He sounded the trumpet and shouted, “We have no share in David, no part in Jesse’s son! Every man to his tent, Israel!”
    2. So all the men of Israel deserted David to follow Sheba son of Bikri. But the men of Judah stayed by their king all the way from the Jordan to Jerusalem.
    3. When David returned to his palace in Jerusalem, he took the ten concubines he had left to take care of the palace and put them in a house under guard. He provided for them but had no sexual relations with them. They were kept in confinement till the day of their death, living as widows.
    4. Then the king said to Amasa, “Summon the men of Judah to come to me within three days, and be here yourself.”
    5. But when Amasa went to summon Judah, he took longer than the time the king had set for him.
    6. David said to Abishai, “Now Sheba son of Bikri will do us more harm than Absalom did. Take your master’s men and pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and escape from us.”
    7. So Joab’s men and the Kerethites and Pelethites and all the mighty warriors went out under the command of Abishai. They marched out from Jerusalem to pursue Sheba son of Bikri.
    8. While they were at the great rock in Gibeon, Amasa came to meet them. Joab was wearing his military tunic, and strapped over it at his waist was a belt with a dagger in its sheath. As he stepped forward, it dropped out of its sheath.
    9. Joab said to Amasa, “How are you, my brother?” Then Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
    10. Amasa was not on his guard against the dagger in Joab’s hand, and Joab plunged it into his belly, and his intestines spilled out on the ground. Without being stabbed again, Amasa died. Then Joab and his brother Abishai pursued Sheba son of Bikri.
    *TOPIC:*
    CIVIL UNREST.
    *THE MESSAGE:*
    David escaped one trouble, only to fall into another. He survived Absalom's plot, but here comes Sheba, from Saul’s lineage, with his problem. Sheba turned the heart of the Benjamites against King David and his reign. The land fell into another chaos. Creating unnecessary rancour among people for a selfish aim is evil. Many countries and states are facing civil unrest because they have not followed God's principles in governance. Due to political ambitions and selfish interests, many are drawing others into unnecessary crises, especially when thugs are involved. By doing so, they jeopardise the community's peaceful coexistence. In which way have you aided and abetted civil unrest? Desist from this evil act. Be a peacemaker wherever you are - home, community, workplace, and the Church.
    *REFLECTION:*
    Be a man and woman of peace.
    *PRAYER:*
    Lord, help me not to join the wicked in causing unrest. Amen.
    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    HEBREWS 10:29.
    How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    ISAIAH 46-48.
    ED.ii. MARRIAGE, THE IMAGE OF CHRIST AND THE CHURCH
    "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word." - Ephesians 5:25-26
    In the covenant of marriage, the husband has to be devoted to his wife in such a way that he surrenders his life for her. It is often emphasized that a woman must submit to her husband. Everything you have, you should give for your wife, in the same way Jesus Christ gave Himself for His Church.
    If the man has such attitude, it is not difficult for a woman to submit herself to her husband. Jesus gave His life so that the Church, His Bride, can become holy and prepared for His coming. 'In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of His body' (Ephesians 5:28-30).
    Husband and wife become one
    God sees the covenant of marriage between husband and wife as one. Of course, you will keep your personal identity. This is also how it works between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church' (Ephesians 5:31-32).
    Marriage is an image of Jesus Christ the Bridegroom, and the Church the Bride. That is why marriage is sacred.
    2. Evening Prayer for today.
    EP.i. Evening Prayer
    Let my prayer be set forth before thee [as] incense; [and] the lifting up of my hands [as] the evening sacrifice. ⏤ Psalm 141:2
    There is a time for heart searching in every evening, to see how the day has been spent. ⏤ Octavius Winslow
    Lord, we come to You; may You hear our voice when we call upon You. Let our prayer come before You like incense, and the lifting up of our hands be like the evening sacrifice. Give us Your peace. In the quiet evening time, may Your blessing rest upon our home. Forgive the sins and failures of this day. If we didn’t live together in all ways with affection as a family, if we were impatient with each other or lacked Christlike kindness, we ask for Your forgiveness. If any of us have hurt another’s heart with a sharp word or unkind act, may You heal the wounds with Your grace. May we forgive one another, just as You forgive us, and pour out Your love in response to the things that grieve You.
    Our hearts long tonight to enter more deeply into the experience of Your wonderful love. Help us to know more and more of it. Pour it into our souls, filling us with its tenderness and grace. May we immerse ourselves in the ocean of Your love, as one bathes in the sea. May its blessedness surround us like the air we breathe. Teach us more and more by Your Spirit the deep meaning and infinite riches of Your love. May we be so filled with Your love that we will love others just as You love us.
    We are not afraid of the darkness because You are with us. The darkness and the light are both alike to You. You are present in the gloom of night just as truly as in the brightness of noonday. So we are not afraid in the darkness with You by our side. We will lie down on our beds in peace because You will be our keeper.
    Remember our neighbors tonight. Comfort the dying and console the grieving. We ask all this in the name of our Redeemer. Amen.
  • James 3:18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
    Do you consider yourself to be a peacemaker or someone who sits by and silently observes, choosing to remain separate? Today we look at the peacemakers and what they gain from getting involved. We find ourselves in the book of James where we see the outcome of our efforts when we become a peacemaker.
    In the passage leading up to verse 18, we see that James contrasted different types of wisdom - earthly vs heavenly. Verse 18 serves as the conclusion to the passage, informing readers that operating in heavenly wisdom that is peaceful produces results that are what James called a harvest of righteousness. But what exactly does all of that mean and how do we apply it in our own lives today?
    When we choose to take action by resolving conflicts by being peaceful, gentle, merciful, etc., we create an environment where a God-honoring life can grow. Righteousness becomes the byproduct of our efforts. If we choose to live a life that is selfish or where we try to gain things through fighting, spiritual maturity does not happen. It cannot take root and grow. But someone who sows in peace, who chooses to actively pursue peacemaking with the people in their lives and community, those people reap a harvest of righteousness or experience a life that is Godly and morally just.
    To put it another way, we can view peace as the soil in which we plant. It must be rich and fertile for spiritual things like righteousness to grow. We cannot achieve a harvest without a soil that is properly prepared. Just like the farmer who needs proper soil to plant crops in, righteousness cannot thrive in an atmosphere of chaos or bitterness.
    There are things we can do to help be peacemakers and reap a harvest of righteousness. We can choose to be active participants. Instead of letting arguments escalate and disrupt the peace, choose to help bring about reconciliation and create harmony. When we find ourselves in the midst of a disagreement with others, choose to let go of things that may be self-seeking or selfish. We should try to approach disagreements with purity, gentleness, mercy, and sincerity (James 3:17).
    And over everything we need to give it to God. Turn to Him, trusting that He will bring about peace and reconciliation in the circumstances you find yourself. Commit everything to prayer and let the Spirit guide you in a manner that is loving and peaceful.
    Today let’s look for opportunities to cultivate peace in our lives. Let’s examine our motives and behaviors and choose peace over all else.
    James 3:18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.  Do you consider yourself to be a peacemaker or someone who sits by and silently observes, choosing to remain separate? Today we look at the peacemakers and what they gain from getting involved. We find ourselves in the book of James where we see the outcome of our efforts when we become a peacemaker. In the passage leading up to verse 18, we see that James contrasted different types of wisdom - earthly vs heavenly. Verse 18 serves as the conclusion to the passage, informing readers that operating in heavenly wisdom that is peaceful produces results that are what James called a harvest of righteousness. But what exactly does all of that mean and how do we apply it in our own lives today?
