    OLD TESTAMENT
    1 SAMUEL 2 — Hannah's Prayer & Samuel's Ministry
    NEW TESTAMENT
JUDE 1 — Contending for the Faith
Congratulations on completing the book of 3 John! Today we begin the book of Jude.
    MAJOR PROPHETS
ISAIAH 37 — Hezekiah Seeks the Lord
    TODAY'S REFLECTION
    1 Samuel 2
Hannah praises God for His faithfulness, while Samuel grows in the presence of the Lord. The chapter contrasts faithful service to God with the corruption of Eli's sons and reminds us that God sees the heart.
    Jude 1
Jude urges believers to contend for the faith and remain watchful against false teaching and ungodly living. We are called to build ourselves up in faith, pray in the Holy Spirit, remain in God's love, and show mercy to others.
    Isaiah 37
When Jerusalem is threatened by Assyria, King Hezekiah takes the matter before God in prayer. God responds and delivers His people, showing that no earthly power is greater than the Lord.
    KEY VERSE
“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit.”
    — Jude 1:20
    PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help us remain firmly rooted in Your truth. Give us discernment to recognize error, courage to stand for the faith, and humility to show mercy to those who are struggling. Like Hezekiah, teach us to bring every difficult situation before You and trust in Your power. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
    TODAY'S CHALLENGE
Stand firm in your faith today. Spend time in prayer, remain grounded in God's Word, and trust God with the situation that concerns you most.
WE STUDY. WE PRAY. WE OBEY. WE GROW. UNTIL WE ARE TOTALLY TRANSFORMED.

  • It is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    2 Thessalonians 1:6–8 ɴᴋᴊᴠ

There is another thing connected with my waiting for God’s Son from heaven. I have not yet got the Person I love with me, and while waiting for Him I am going through the world tired and worn with the spirit and character of everything around me. The more I am in communion with God, the more keenly shall I feel the spirit of the world to be a weariness to me, although God still upholds my soul in fellowship and communion with Himself.

Therefore, Paul says, in 2 Thessalonians 1, “to give you who are troubled rest with us.” I get rest to my spirit now in waiting for Christ, knowing that when He comes He will have everything His own way; for the coming of the Lord, which will be trouble to the world, will be to the saints’ full and everlasting rest. It is not right to be weary of the service and conflict. Oh, no! Rather let me be victorious every day, but still it is not rest to be fighting.

I shall know it all better when I am in the glory, my soul will be enlarged, and more capable of enjoying what God really is; but it is the same kind of joy that I have now, as I shall have when He comes to be glorified in His saints.

    J. N. Darby

Jesus, our Lord, with joy we waitTo see Thy blessed face;Though weak on earth our present state,Our strength is in Thy grace.

    Pursue Purity
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

One major attribute that will attract people to you is the state of your heart; how pure it is. Moral purity is like an aroma, a fragrance that releases the beauty of God’s holiness. If we are to succeed by faith, we must also live a corresponding life of purity and holiness. Purity is vital to faith. There cannot be faith in the heart unless there is holiness in the life.

You pursue purity by exposing your conscience constantly to the Word of God. As you do, your heart grows strong and insists on doing right, condemns wrongdoing, causes remorse over sin and rewards righteousness with peace. Your inward purity which is reflected in your outward action singles you out for favour where others are rejected. Purity has to do with moral discipline that starts from self. No matter how gifted you are, your gift will never reach their maximum potential without the application of self-discipline. This is your day.

Wisdom Fountain: "Keep your heart pure. A pure heart is necessary to see God in each other. If you see God in each other, there is love for each other, then there is peace."
Prayer: Heavenly Father, create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Purify my thoughts, my motives, and my desires. Help me to turn my eyes away from worthless things and guard my words. Give me the strength to resist temptation and to run from things that lead me away from You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so my actions bring honour to Your name in Jesus' name.

  • THE PILGRIMS GUIDE

    WEDNESDAY AUGUST 26, 2026

    STRENGTHENED THROUGH HIS SPIRIT

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man." Ephesians 3:16 NKJV.

There is an aspect of weakness that rest, in its physiological curativeness cannot cure and encouragement cannot fix. It is the weariness that resonates within the inner being of a being when the heart feels tired, the mind feels heavy, and the spirit feels drained. That is why Paul the apostle, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit from the context of our foundational Scripture (Ephesians 3:1-21) desires inner strength for God's children, not just outward relief.

When God strengthens your inner being, fear loses control, discouragement fades, and endurance rises. You may still face pressure, but you will not collapse under it. You may still walk through challenges, but they will not break you. This same inner strength is what sustained David in the wilderness, Jeremiah in persecution, and Paul in affliction. It is the strength availed by the Holy Spirit, it is quiet, steady, and powerful.

As you align yourself to God’s will for your life, He renews your inner being through His Spirit, and causes you to rise with fresh strength for your assignments.

Send an invite to the Holy Spirit now, to strengthen your inner being.
Would you? If it has to be, it's up to you.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

LORDJesus, strengthen me in my inner being by Your Spirit. Renew my resolve to align with Your will for me, and uphold me by Your power.

    FURTHER READING:

    1 Samuel 30:6; Jeremiah 15:20-21; 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.

  • Why does a Christian need to cultivate Biblical discernment?
Three reasons why you need Biblical discernment:

Sometimes you hear the right voice (a believer) say the wrong thing. When this happens, if you exercise Biblical discernment, then you’ll understand that the person simply mis-spoke. We’re all human and we all make mistakes. Mis-stating something doesn’t make someone a bad person. It simply means that they’re human…like you.
Sometimes you hear the wrong voice (a non-believer) say the right thing. When this happens, if you exercise Biblical discernment, then you’ll understand that the person didn’t say the right thing to help you; they said what they said to try to mislead you because…
The wrong voice NEVER says the right thing for the right reason.
Now that I’ve stirred up a hornets nest, let me make some clarifications.

The insights I’ve shared in this post only apply to true Christians - followers of Jesus - who live the way they live to glorify God and point people to the Savior, Jesus Christ. And just to be perfectly clear: Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. In fact, He’s the only Savior, which means that there is NO way to connect to God the Father apart from Jesus.
The Biblical discernment I’m referring to is developed over time by making God’s Word (the Bible) a priority, along with praying regularly and fellowshipping regularly with other believers. Biblical discernment is NOT available to unbelievers. So if you want Biblical discernment, but you have not yet surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus, then your next step is to do what the Bible tells us we have to do to connect with the Father through Jesus:
Believe in God the Father and in His only Son, Jesus Christ.
Confess that Jesus is Lord and that the Father raised Him from the dead.
Repent of your sin (your wrongdoing - we’ve all done wrong).
Surrender control of your life to Jesus, who will then become the Lord of your life.
Accept by faith the forgiveness that God offers freely through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
Believe that you are now justified before God (put in right-standing with God), and that He’s forgiven you of EVERY wrong thing you’ve ever done.
Believe God’s Holy Spirit is now living in you (that’s a mystery, but it’s true), and purpose in your heart to live as God intends, with the help of His Spirit.
Learn to enjoy being in God’s “forever family”, and share with others what’s happened to you. Discover God’s gifts to you, and then use them to make a difference in the lives of other people. Become an ambassador for Jesus! Tell everyone you meet about how He’s changed your life and given you a purpose (a reason for living).
I hope these insights inspire & motivate you to open yourself up to all that God is and all that He has for you! God bless!

  • REPROBATE: WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?

These questions were asked today: "What is a reprobate? What's so bad about being a reprobate?"

First of all, let's define the term: depraved; morally corrupt; rejected by God. So, what's the big deal? Glad you asked:
    * You don't know you're a reprobate because the Holy Spirit never again convicts you of your sin and of your need for a Savior.
    * There's no coming back to a place of repentance, again because you're never convicted.
    * You live the rest of your life thinking that everything is okay between you & God, but it's not. You're actually on your way to hell, and there's nothing you can do about it.

So, what's the takeaway for us who are born again, who desire to have a Godly influence on others? Whenever you encounter someone who is very cold (or even hostile) toward the Gospel, warn them that they may have already crossed a line. And then plead with them to lose sleep over their eternal state, and call out to Jesus for mercy. We're not God, so we can't say if someone has gone too far, but we can warn them about the cliff they're headed to.

  • Matthew 22:11-14 NIV “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless. “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

God morning and praise God. I hope you are blessed and having a great morning.

Long ago in the East, a host of a banquet would provide special garments to his invited guests. These were to his own honor and pride. He would therefore expect all his invited guests to be in that specific attire. Do you think he would allow them who refused to be in his probably expensive, clean and beautiful attire to remain in the banquet? Won't that be a great dishonor to him having spent alot only for someone to participate wearing his or her own garment of choice?

Jesus Christ uses this to illustrate how it will be for those who accepted Him but wants to do it under their own terms. Those who want to remain in sin but also in Christ. Those who accepted the Gospel but have willingly refused to be transformed by it. They want to be luke warm, not cold not hot. They want to love Jesus by their own lips whilst their actions shows otherwise. Those who have refused to bear fruit of Spirit but instead are bearing fruits of flesh.

In another place the Bible describes them this way Romans 1:21 NIV "For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. "

Gospel is tranformartive but to those who genuinely accept it and from henceforth take-up their cross and follow Jesus. You cannot tell us you belong to Jesus but also to your old sinful nature. You cannot belong to light and darkness at the same time. Gospel is nothing about mingling with crowd but rather a deep personal relationship with God. It is about true repentance, faith and submission to the ways of God. It is nothing about following your church traditions and what not but rather a deep relationship of submission and obedience to God.

The end of those that are lukewarm is clear. They will be cast out of God's presence at the judgement day. Matthew 7:23 NIV Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Brethren, be among the chosen not just those who accepted invitation. It'll be very painful if you wasted all your time lying on salvation. Make it true today through true and genuine repentance and it's tranformartive power.

God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom.

  • PRAYERS THAT WILL ASSASSINATE THE ENEMY
    • I confess that I am a child of God.
    • I declare that I’m born again by the finished work of the cross of Jesus Christ.
    • I am the head and not the tail, in the name of Jesus.
    • Devil, today and tomorrow and forever I’m reigning with Christ, seated in the heavenly places.
    • Satan, listen to me. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
    • Today my life is hidden in Christ that I should live and not die. I will declare the works of the Lord forever, in Jesus’ mighty name.
    • Today I will see the goodness of the Lord upon my life, my family, my ministry, my purpose, and my destiny in the land of the living.
    • My authority and my identity live in Christ Jesus, my Lord and my Savior.
    • I confess I have been made to overcome, triumph, and win every fight, every battle, and every war in Christ Jesus, my King, my Lord, and my Savior. Amen.
    • Yesterday, today, and tomorrow no weapon formed against me will prosper. Every demonic war, battle, and fight, and every tongue that speaks against my purpose, my destiny, and my season will be burned by the fire of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ unmatchable name. Amen.
PRAYERS THAT WILL ASSASSINATE THE ENEMY • I confess that I am a child of God. Amen.
