Choosing your spouse. Choosing trust. Choosing appreciation. Choosing friendship. Choosing romance. Choosing forgiveness. These are not merely feelings. They are decisions. There will be days when love feels effortless. There will also be days when love requires discipline. On those days, remember your covenant. Remember God's grace. Remember why you began. And remember that Christ calls us to love—not only when it is convenient, but as a reflection of His own love for us. 📖 God's Word "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." — Colossians 3:14 ❤️ Today's Love Action Tell your spouse: "I choose you, and I choose to keep growing with you." Give God Control (Proverbs 3:5–6) One of the hardest things to do is let go. We want to control our future. Our plans. Our relationships. Our careers. Our finances. Our reputation. Even the things we pray about. We often tell God what we want and then quietly expect Him to follow our plan. But trusting God means something deeper. It means being willing to say: “Lord, I trust You—even when Your plan is different from mine.” The Bible says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Notice the instruction: Trust. Not partially. Not only when everything makes sense. With all your heart. Sometimes we struggle to trust God because we want to know exactly what will happen next. But faith doesn't require knowing the entire future. Faith means trusting the One who already knows it. Think about Peter when Jesus called him to step out of the boat. The water was still there. The storm was still around him. But Peter had to decide whether he would trust Jesus enough to take the step. Sometimes God is asking you to take a step before you have all the answers. Maybe you need to start something. Maybe you need to stop something. Maybe you need to forgive. Maybe you need to wait. Maybe you need to surrender a dream. Maybe you need to give God control of a relationship, career decision, or future you have been trying desperately to manage yourself. Surrender doesn't mean giving up on life. It means giving up the illusion that you have to control everything. There are things you can control: Your choices. Your attitude. Your obedience. Your words. Your effort. Your response. But there are also things you cannot control: Other people's decisions. Tomorrow. The economy. Every outcome. Every opportunity. Every circumstance. Trying to control what belongs outside your control will eventually leave you exhausted. So give those things to God. Pray about them. Do your part faithfully. Then trust Him with the results. And remember: Surrender is not weakness. It is an expression of faith. Jesus demonstrated the ultimate example of surrender in the garden of Gethsemane. Facing the cross, He prayed to the Father and submitted to God's will. That obedience brought salvation to humanity. The cross reminds us that God's plan can accomplish something far greater than what we can see in the moment. Maybe you don't understand your current season. Maybe you're asking: “Why is this happening?” Instead of only asking God to change the situation, try asking: “Lord, what are You teaching me through this?” Sometimes God changes the circumstances. Sometimes He changes us. And sometimes He does both. Whatever you're facing today, don't carry it as though everything depends on you. Give God your fears. Give Him your plans. Give Him your mistakes. Give Him your future. Give Him your unanswered questions. And then trust Him one day at a time. You may not know what tomorrow holds. But you know who holds tomorrow. Release what you cannot control and trust the God who can. Today, take a quiet moment and pray: “Lord, I surrender my plans, my fears, and my future to You. Help me trust Your wisdom more than my own understanding. Lead me where You want me to go, and give me the courage to follow. Daily devotion for August 21st The Need For A Sacrifice We assume the responsibility. For the holy offerings; for sin offerings to make atonement for Israel; and for all the duties of the house of our God. Nehemiah 10:32-33 The people recognized the need for offerings and sacrifices. The history of Israel clearly reveals that this nation emphasized shedding the blood of animals and offering up their crops and grain to God. By so doing they were never allowed to forget the cost of redemption. Blood shed means a death has occurred. God is teaching His people that their problem with sin within is of such a serious nature it cannot be solved by merely instructing the mind. Only death can cure it. These bloody offerings prepared the way for the death of Jesus and even our remembrance of that death at the Lord's table. We ought to meditate on this every day. We should never allow ourselves to forget the cost of our redemption. It took all that God had to open a door that we might return to Him. As Peter put it, For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect (1 Peter 1:18-19). Very closely related to the blood offerings was the promise of these people to bring the firstfruits of their crops, herds, flocks, and even their sons to God. What they were doing was recognizing the ownership and rights of God in their lives. A corresponding truth for us today is, You are not your own; you were bought at a price (1 Corinthians 6:19b-20a). God owns us. We do not own ourselves. The world says, You are your own. If you are pregnant and you do not want the baby, you can kill it, because you have a right to do what you please with your own body. But the Bible says, No, you are not your own. You do not have a right to do anything you like with the body God gave you. This is true in other aspects of life as well. We are not our own. We have no right to determine what we are going to do with our lives or even whom we are going to marry, apart from God's limitations. We have certain choices granted to us, but not all choices. One of the important aspects of becoming a Christian is to recognize the rights of God and to live our lives within the limits He establishes. This is what this great passage is teaching. It is the way by which Israel recognized frequently and continually that their lives were not their own. They too were bought with a price. They belonged to God. He has the right to direct their affairs and make many choices for them. Thank You, Lord, for this reminder that I am not my own; I have been bought with a price. I surrender my life to You, knowing that You have redeemed me with the precious blood of Christ

MEANING OF SACKCLOTH AND ASHES. Sackcloth and ashes originates from biblical texts and is used to symbolize: MOURNING,(*Deep sorrow and grief) REPENTANCE, (*Desire to change) AND HUMILITY.(*Humbled to Father in shame) Wearing sackcloth, is uncomfortable and course fabric. Usually made from goats hair. Sitting in ashes were traditional practices during times of great spiritual and physical distress or showing their penance for sins. In the Bible, figures such as Job and the people of Israel used sackcloth and ashes to express their sorrow and seek forgiveness from Father. This showed a deep sense of remorse and the desire to turn away from their iniquity. These biblical stories of mourning, repentance, and humility show someone who is experiencing regret for transgressions by taking responsibility for their actions, and bowing down to the heavenly Father. Demonstrating the act of being nothing but dirty ashes. The child was born through adultery and murder. God did not let it live. THE DEATH OF DAVID’S SON 2 Samuel 12:15-23 KJV 15 AND NATHAN DEPARTED Unto his house. The Two Witnesses (Revelation 11:3-6) As having the power to prophesy for 1,260 days while clothed in sackcloth.(*shortened by Christ in Matthew 24:22-24/ Revelation 9 to 150 days. The 7 years given to Satan was deduced to those 5 months/140 days. The 2 Witnesses time was given in days and when shortened to days they are given about a week longer to prepare and warn the house of Isreal.) THE TWO WITNESSES Revelation 11 KJV 1 AND THERE WAS GIVEN ME A REED Like unto a rod: and the angel stood, Saying, Rise, and measure The temple of God, And the altar, And them that worship therein. 2 BUT THE COURT Which is without the temple leave out, And measure it not; For it is given unto the Gentiles: And the holy city shall they tread Under foot forty and two months. (*Shortened by Christ, Matthew24, to 5 months of Revelation 9, for the elections sake, so they could stand.) 3 AND I WILL GIVE POWER Unto my TWO witnesses, And they shall prophesy A thousand two hundred And threescore days, Clothed in sackcloth.(*Repentance) 4 THESE ARE THE TWO OLIVE TREES, And the two candlesticks Standing before the God of the earth. 5 AND IF ANY MAN WILL HURT THEM, Fire proceedeth out of their mouth, And devoureth their enemies: And if any man will hurt them, He must in this manner be killed. 6 THESE HAVE POWER TO SHUT HEAVEN, That it rain not In the days of their prophecy: And have power over waters To turn them to blood, And to smite the earth with all plagues, As often as they will. THE WITNESSES RESURRECTED 11 AND AFTER THREE DAYS AND AN HALF The spirit of life from God Entered into them, And they stood upon their feet; And great fear fell upon them Which saw them. 12 AND THEY HEARD A GREAT VOICE From heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; And their enemies beheld them. 13 AND THE SAME HOUR WAS THERE A great earthquake, And the tenth part of the city fell, And in the earthquake Were slain of men SEVEN THOUSAND: And the remnant Were affrighted, And gave glory to the God of heaven. (*The 7000 fallen angels that take over the government's of the world with their new world order will die forever.) 14 THE SECOND WOE IS PAST; And, behold, The third woe cometh quickly. 👉Sackcloth is a symbol of humility and sorrow, indicating their role as prophets of repentance in a time of great tribulation of the apostasy of God's people. The sackcloth worn by the Two Witnesses provokes their somber mission, calling for the repentance of the nations and pointing out their eminent demise. The 2 serve as messengers of God's judgment, calling people to repentance. They are granted the power to perform miraculous signs, such as shutting the sky to prevent rain and turning waters into blood, emphasizing their authority as God's representatives. After their testimony, they are killed, signifying the rejection of their message. Like that of Jesus message they will lay in the street 3 days and half. They are later resurrected and taken up to heaven, symbolizing the ultimate vindication of God's

Building Blocks To Growing In Jesus… SENSITIVITY AND SUBMISSION TO GOD’s WORD Proverbs 3:1-2 — "My son, don't forget my instruction. Let your heart guard my commands, because they will help you live a long time and provide you with well-being." Psalm 119:105 — "Your word is a lamp before my feet and a light for my journey." Walking the path of faith requires a steady anchor and a discerning heart. In a world full of shifting opinions, loud voices, and subtle spiritual errors, God has not left us to guess. He has given us His living, active Word as a reliable standard to guide our steps, protect our minds, and draw us closer to Him. True spiritual sensitivity begins when we approach the Scriptures with a humble and teachable spirit. Instead of forcing our own desires onto the text, we allow the Bible to search our hearts, correct our motives, and shape our character unfolding a life of genuine obedience and daily renewal. This kind of submission is not a burden; it is an act of deep trust in a loving Father who knows what is best for us. When we hide God's truth in our hearts, we build a natural defense against deception arming our minds with discernment and anchoring our souls against the shifting tides of the world. We learn to spot the counterfeits—messages that flatter human pride, promise cheap grace, or distort the character of Jesus Christ. Grounded in Scripture, we can test every teaching against the unchanging truth of the Gospel. Ultimately, submitting to God's Word transforms how we live each day. It moves us from merely hearing spiritual truths to actively putting them into practice through love, obedience, and service. As we let His word be a lamp to our feet, we walk with confidence, knowing we are anchored in the truth that never fails. The key to having true sensitivity to God’s Word involves our having true discernment working in our lives on a daily basis: True discernment always uses the Bible as the final authority. It is not based on gut feelings, cultural trends, or personal intuition. How it works: Just as a bank teller is trained to spot counterfeit bills by studying real currency exhaustively, a believer sharpens discernment by deeply knowing the absolute truth of God's Word. Discernment is not merely an intellectual skill; it is a spiritual fruit made possible by a close walk with God. How it works: The Holy Spirit actively lives inside every believer to act as an internal compass, giving a sense of spiritual alignment or warning when something contradicts God's character. Truth always produces godliness, humility, love, and a high view of Jesus Christ. Error eventually produces pride, division, exploitation, or unrepentant sin. How it works: When evaluating a teaching, movement, or leader, look past the initial presentation or emotional appeal to examine the long-term character and spiritual fruit it leaves behind. CLOSING PRAYER: Heavenly Father, grant me a discerning heart anchored deeply in Your unchanging Word. Protect my mind from deception, and let Your Holy Spirit guide my every step. Help me to test all things with your wisdom Lord, walk in humble obedience, and reflect the love of Jesus Christ in a world so easily lost in the dark. Amen.

3 WAYS TO DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN YOUR PROPHETIC CALLING The prophetic gift is not something we should treat casually. What God places within us must be cultivated through spiritual discipline, intimacy with Him, and the right spiritual environment. If you desire to mature in the prophetic, you must intentionally build a life capable of carrying what God entrusts to you. ## 1. Give Yourself to Prayer and Fasting Prayer develops our intimacy with God, while fasting helps bring our flesh under submission. The prophetic becomes clearer when our hearts are continually turned toward the Lord. A prophetic gift cannot be sustained by gifting alone. We need a life of prayer that keeps our hearts sensitive to the Holy Spirit and a life of consecration that teaches us to put God's desires above our own appetites. There are times when God calls us into deeper levels of prayer and fasting because He is preparing us to receive, discern, and carry greater spiritual responsibility. *If you want greater sensitivity to the voice of God, make room for deeper consecration.* ## 2. Establish Yourself in the Word of God The prophetic must always be anchored in Scripture. Revelation should never become an excuse to neglect the written Word of God. The Bible teaches us how to recognize God's character, test what we hear, and distinguish truth from our own emotions, desires, assumptions, or deception. Scripture gives us the foundation by which prophetic impressions and revelations can be examined. The more deeply the Word of God is established in you, the stronger your spiritual discernment becomes. > *“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”* > > — Psalm 119:11, KJV Don't seek revelation while neglecting the Book that teaches you how to recognize truth. ## 3. Surround Yourself With the Right Spiritual Atmosphere The environment around you can influence what develops within you. There are environments that can weaken your spiritual hunger, and there are environments that can awaken gifts and desires that God has placed inside you. We see an example of this in the life of Saul. When he encountered the company of prophets, Scripture tells us that the Spirit of God came upon him and he prophesied among them. *1 Samuel 10:10–11* This shows us the importance of spiritual atmosphere. What surrounds you matters. Make room in your life for prayer, worship, the Word, sound biblical teaching, genuine fellowship, and people who sincerely pursue the presence of God. The right environment does not replace your personal relationship with God, but it can encourage, strengthen, and help develop what He has already placed within you. ### BUILD A LIFE THAT CAN CARRY THE FIRE If you desire to grow in the prophetic, don't focus only on receiving prophetic experiences. *Build the character, discipline, prayer life, biblical foundation, and consecration necessary to carry what God gives you.* The greater the fire God entrusts to you, the greater the responsibility to maintain the altar. *Cultivate the presence. Guard the Word. Strengthen your prayer life. Choose your atmosphere wisely. And allow the Holy Spirit to mature what God has placed within you
