• Don’t Give Up on God (Galatians 6:9)

    There are moments when you feel tired.

    Tired of praying.

    Tired of waiting.

    Tired of trying.

    Tired of fighting the same battles.

    Tired of seeing other people move forward while you seem to be standing still.

    And sometimes the easiest thought is:

    “Maybe I should just give up.”

    But God's Word reminds us:

    “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

    Read that again:

    If we do not give up.

    Following Jesus doesn't mean you will never become tired.

    Faith doesn't mean you will never experience disappointment.

    Being a Christian doesn't mean every prayer will be answered immediately.

    There will be seasons when you have to keep walking even when you cannot see the destination.

    Think about a farmer.

    A farmer plants a seed, but doesn't see the harvest immediately.

    There is a season of waiting.

    A season of watering.

    A season of working.

    A season when nothing seems to be happening above the ground.

    But beneath the surface, something is happening.

    Your spiritual life can be like that.

    You may pray and feel like nothing is changing.

    You may read God's Word and wonder whether your situation will ever improve.

    You may serve others without seeing the impact.

    You may share your faith and wonder whether anyone is listening.

    Don't assume that nothing is happening simply because you cannot see the results yet.

    God can be working in ways you don't understand.

    Your responsibility is to remain faithful.

    Keep praying.

    Keep trusting.

    Keep serving.

    Keep learning.

    Keep loving.

    Keep obeying.

    Keep sharing Jesus.

    And when you fall, get back up.

    Peter failed Jesus.

    David made serious mistakes.

    Elijah became discouraged.

    Moses became frustrated.

    Many people in Scripture experienced moments of weakness.

    But their weakness wasn't the end of their story.

    God's grace met them there.

    Maybe today you feel like you've failed God too many times.

    Remember:

    Failure is not an invitation to run away from God.

    It is an invitation to return to Him.

    Confess.

    Repent.

    Receive His grace.

    Get back up.

    Keep walking.

    Sometimes perseverance doesn't look dramatic.

    Sometimes it simply means getting out of bed and praying again.

    Opening your Bible again.

    Going to church again.

    Trying again.

    Forgiving again.

    Serving again.

    Believing again.

    Taking one more step.

    And another.

    And another.

    You don't have to finish the entire journey today.

    Just take the next faithful step.

    There may be people around you who are also struggling silently.

    Your perseverance can encourage them.

    When they see you continue trusting God through difficult seasons, they may discover that faith isn't about having a perfect life.

    It's about having a faithful God.

    And ultimately, our hope isn't based on our ability to remain strong.

    Our hope is based on Jesus.

    He endured rejection.

    He endured suffering.

    He endured the cross.

    And He rose again.

    Because Christ overcame, we have reason to keep going.

    So if you're tired today, rest—but don't quit.

    If you need help, ask for it.

    If you need prayer, pray.

    If you need encouragement, reach out to another believer.

    But don't walk away from God because the road is difficult.

    The harvest may not be visible yet.

    Keep sowing.

    Keep trusting.

    Keep believing.

    At the right time, God will bring about what He has planned.

    Don't give up in the season when you cannot yet see the harvest. God is still working.

    What is one area of your life where you need to keep trusting God instead of giving up?

    COME TO JESUS AND DRINK!

    TEXT: JOHN 7:1–53

    KEY VERSE:

    «“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” — John 7:37 (KJV)»

    John 7 reveals Jesus ministering in the midst of opposition, unbelief, confusion, and division.

    People had different opinions about Him. Some questioned His identity. Others criticized Him. Some wanted to arrest Him. Yet Jesus continued to teach and proclaim the truth.

    Then, on the final and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried:

    «“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”»

    This was more than an invitation for physical water.

    Jesus was speaking to the deepest thirst of the human heart.

    The world cannot satisfy the soul. Only Jesus can.

    THREE LESSONS FROM JOHN 7

    COME TO JESUS WHEN YOUR SOUL IS THIRSTY.

    Jesus said:

    «“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” — John 7:37»

    Everyone experiences a thirst that material things cannot satisfy.

    You may have money and still be empty.

    You may have friends and still feel lonely.

    You may have success and still lack peace.

    You may have possessions and still desire something more.

    The soul was created for God.

    Therefore, don't try to satisfy a spiritual thirst with worldly things.

    Come to Jesus.

    He gives peace to the troubled heart.

    He gives hope to the discouraged.

    He gives forgiveness to the sinner.

    He gives purpose to the lost.

    He gives eternal life to those who believe.

    THE HOLY SPIRIT FLOWS FROM A LIFE CONNECTED TO CHRIST.

    John 7:38–39 says:

    «“He that believeth on me... out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”»

    John explains that Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit.

    God does not want us merely to receive His blessing; He wants His life to flow through us to others.

    You should not be a container that only receives.

    You should become a channel that gives.

    Receive God's love—and show it.

    Receive His grace—and extend it.

    Receive His Word—and share it.

    Receive His comfort—and comfort others.

    Receive the Gospel—and preach it.

    A life filled with Christ should become a blessing to others.

    DON'T ALLOW PEOPLE'S OPINIONS TO KEEP YOU FROM JESUS.

    John 7 is filled with different opinions about Jesus.

    Some said He was a good man.

    Others said He deceived people.

    Some recognized that He was the Christ.

    Others questioned where He came from.

    Even among the people, there was division because of Him.

    This reminds us that people will always have opinions about Jesus.

    But your salvation cannot be based on people's opinions.

    You must personally know Christ.

    Don't reject Jesus because someone else rejected Him.

    Don't abandon your faith because someone mocks you.

    Don't compromise because you want people's approval.

    Know whom you believe.

    SEARCH THE WORD FOR YOURSELF

    The people questioned Jesus' teaching because they were unfamiliar with His authority.

    Jesus said:

    «“My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.” — John 7:16»

    This teaches us the importance of knowing God's Word.

    Don't build your faith solely on what someone tells you.

    Study Scripture.

    Pray for understanding.

    Test what you hear.

    Know the truth.

    A believer who knows God's Word is less likely to be carried away by deception.

    Don't just hear the Word—search it, understand it, and live it.

    JESUS CAN SATISFY WHAT THE WORLD CANNOT

    There is a thirst inside humanity that money cannot quench.

    The Samaritan woman in John 4 needed Living Water.

    The crowd in John 6 needed the Bread of Life.

    And in John 7, Jesus again offers Himself as the One who satisfies the thirsty soul.

    The message is consistent:

    JESUS IS ENOUGH.

    When you have Christ, you have the greatest treasure.

    When everything else changes, Christ remains.

    When people leave, Christ remains.

    When circumstances become difficult, Christ remains.

    When the world cannot answer your questions, Christ remains.

    Come to Jesus and drink.

    LET THE RIVERS FLOW THROUGH YOU

    Jesus did not say that the living water would remain stagnant.

    He said:

    «“Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”»

    A river flows.

    Therefore, don't keep your Christianity hidden.

    Let your faith be visible.

    Let your kindness speak.

    Let your character testify.

    Let your words carry grace.

    Let your life preach Christ.

    Someone around you may be spiritually thirsty.

    Your testimony may encourage them.

    Your prayer may strengthen them.

    Your invitation may bring them to church.

    Your witness may lead them to salvation.

    Let the living water flow!

    JESUS WILL ALWAYS BRING A DECISION

    John 7 shows that people were divided because of Jesus.

    Some believed.

    Some doubted.

    Some opposed Him.

    Some wanted to arrest Him.

    Jesus still demands a response today.

    You cannot remain neutral forever.

    The question is not merely:

    “What do people say about Jesus?”

    The question is:

    “WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?”

    Is He your Saviour?

    Is He your Lord?

    Is He your King?

    Are you following Him?

    Are you obeying His Word?

    ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

    The world offers temporary satisfaction, but Jesus offers Living Water that becomes a river within us. Come to Him, drink deeply, and let His life flow through you.

    🏽 PRAYER

    Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for giving us Jesus Christ, the source of Living Water.

    Lord Jesus, I come to You with every thirst, emptiness, weakness, and need in my heart. Fill me with Your presence and satisfy my soul with what only You can provide.

    Holy Spirit, work deeply within me. Let rivers of living water flow through my life.

    Help me not to be controlled by the opinions of people. Give me courage to stand for Christ even when others reject or misunderstand Him.

    Give me a deeper hunger for Your Word and greater understanding of Your truth.

    Use my life as a channel of Your love, grace, and Gospel. Let someone encounter Jesus because of my words, actions, and testimony.

    May I never look to the world for what only Christ can provide.

    In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. 🏽

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - MONDAY, 24TH AUGUST, 2026.*

    *FAITH THAT REACHES OUT TO JESUS*

    Scripture:
    “For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.” — Mark 5:28–29 (KJV).

    *Reflection – One Touch Can Change Everything.*

    In Mark 5, we meet a woman who had suffered for twelve years. She had endured a painful and exhausting situation, but she refused to allow her circumstances to destroy her hope.

    When she heard about Jesus, she said within herself, “If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” She moved toward Jesus in faith, reached out, touched His garment, and immediately experienced a change.

    Her story teaches us that faith takes action. She did not merely hear about Jesus; she moved toward Him. She did not allow the crowd, her past, or the length of her struggle to stop her.

    Today, you may have been waiting for an answer for a long time. You may have prayed repeatedly and wondered when your situation would change. Do not give up.

    Keep reaching out to Jesus.

    Your breakthrough may come in a way you did not expect, but your confidence must remain in Christ.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
    Today, I declare that my faith is alive and active. I will not allow the length of my struggle to destroy my expectation. I will continue to reach out to Jesus Christ.

    I declare that every situation that has resisted human solutions is surrendered into the hands of the Almighty God. The Lord shall intervene according to His perfect will and timing.

    Today, I receive fresh faith to believe God again. Where disappointment has weakened my expectation, may the Lord renew my confidence. Where delay has made me tired, may He strengthen my heart.

    I declare divine intervention over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May the Lord touch every area that needs His transforming power.

    I proclaim that no crowd, obstacle, discouragement, or past experience shall prevent me from pursuing Jesus. I will keep praying. I will keep believing. I will keep trusting. I will keep moving forward.

    I declare that every legitimate expectation according to God's will shall receive divine attention. The Lord shall make a way where He has ordained a way, and He shall give me grace to trust Him where I must wait.

    Today, I reject hopelessness. I reject the belief that nothing can change. I reject the voice that tells me to give up.

    I declare that my faith shall overcome fear, my hope shall overcome discouragement, and my trust in God shall overcome uncertainty.

    I proclaim restoration over every area of my life that has experienced loss, weakness, stagnation, or disappointment. May God restore my joy, renew my strength, and establish me according to His purpose.

    I declare that my testimony shall encourage others. What God does in my life shall become evidence that faith in Christ is never misplaced.

    Today, I reach out to Jesus with confidence.

    I will not give up.
    I will not turn back.
    I will keep believing.
    I will keep trusting.
    I will keep reaching for Jesus.

    Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
    Begin with faith: Thank Jesus because He is still able to intervene in every situation.

    Read Mark 5:25–34: Meditate on the faith and determination of the woman who reached out to Jesus.

    Declare: “By faith, I reach out to Jesus. My hope is in Him, and I will not give up.”

    Bring one long-standing concern to God: Pray about it again—not from desperation, but from renewed faith.

    Take a faith-filled step: Do something constructive today toward a God-honoring goal you have been postponing.

    Encourage someone: Remind someone who has been waiting for a breakthrough that they should continue trusting God.

    End with thanksgiving: Thank God for what He has already done and trust Him for what is still to come.

    *Prayer:*
    Heavenly Father,
    I thank You for the example of the woman who reached out to Jesus in faith.

    Lord Jesus, today I reach out to You with every need, burden, desire, and expectation in my heart. Give me faith that refuses to give up.

    Where I have been discouraged, renew my hope. Where I have experienced disappointment, restore my confidence. Where I have waited for a long time, give me patience and strength.

    Touch every area of my life that needs Your intervention. Touch my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and future.

    Lord, I surrender my timeline to You. Help me to trust Your wisdom and Your perfect timing.

    Give me courage to keep moving toward You even when the journey is difficult. Let my faith become stronger through every challenge.

    May my life become a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may my testimony encourage others to trust You.

    Jesus, I reach out to You today. Let Your grace be sufficient for me and let Your perfect will be accomplished in my life.

    In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

    *Blessing for today:*
    May the Lord strengthen your faith today. May He give you courage to keep reaching toward Him even when circumstances appear difficult.

    May divine intervention come into every area of your life that needs God's touch. May the Lord renew your hope, restore your joy, strengthen your family, establish your work, bless your ministry, and guide your steps.

    May every season of waiting produce deeper faith and greater dependence on God.

    May your faith produce a testimony that will encourage many others to seek Jesus.

    Your faith shall not fail.
    Your hope shall remain alive.
    Christ shall sustain you.
    Your testimony shall come according to God's perfect will.

    “IF I MAY TOUCH BUT HIS CLOTHES, I SHALL BE WHOLE.” — MARK 5:28

    Keep reaching out to Jesus. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Your story is still in God's hands.

    Good morning beloved and do have a blessed, faith-filled, peaceful, and testimony-producing day
    Shalom!

  • **JESUS IS CALLING TODAY**

    Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?

    This question from Jesus, in Luke 6:46, needs to touch your heart deeply. We live in a time when much is said about the love of Jesus, about blessing, healing, and prosperity, but little is said about repentance, obedience, and holiness.

    It is true that Jesus is love, for those who also love him (Proverbs 8:17), but the same Jesus who said come to me also declared that if you want to follow him, you must deny yourself and take up your cross daily. Following Christ has a cost: dying to sin and living for Jesus. He himself said that whoever loves him keeps his commandments.

    I ask you, you who say you are a Christian: are you truly following Jesus, or just using his name?

    The Word of God does not call sin a weakness; it calls it sin, and it confronts the attitude of those who claim to be Christian yet live out, day to day, practices such as lying, greed, envy, pride, hatred, adultery, sexual immorality, idolatry, theft, addictions, corruption, slander, and hypocrisy. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 6, lists several of these practices. But right after, he reminds us that some of the believers in Corinth had once lived this way, and were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of Jesus.

    Jesus says to you: repent and turn away from sin.

    Jesus told the parable of the rich man who built bigger barns, thinking he had many years ahead, and God said to him: Fool, this very night your soul will be required of you; then who will own what you have prepared?

    You may have a house, a car, a job, a good salary, plans but what does it profit you to gain the whole world and lose your soul?

    If you are in Jesus Christ, you are a new creation, and the evil one cannot touch you or your household.

    The book of Acts 3:19 says: Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.

    Jesus does not look only for those who call him Lord, but for those who follow him and do what he commands, being doers of the word and not hearers only. Your life is short, eternity is real. Do not treat grace as a license to sin, and do not put it off until tomorrow.

    If today you hear his voice, do not harden your heart.

  • Good morning brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2O26.
    "WELCOME THIS CHANGE"

    ‘…have your sandals on and your walking stick in your hand...’ Exodus 12:11 NCV.

    THE BOY Scout motto is ‘Be prepared,’ and it’s a good one. In Exodus, God told Israel, ‘…eat…fully dressed as if you were going on a trip…have your sandals on and your walking stick in your hand.’ In other words, ‘Be ready when I tell you to move!’ Maybe there’s an area in your life where God is telling you it’s time to move, but fear is making you hold back. Don’t! Change is just evidence of growth. What worked yesterday can be tomorrow’s recipe for failure. You can’t become who you are destined to be, if you insist on staying as you are. John Patterson said, ‘Only fools and dead men don’t change…Fools won’t, and dead men can’t.’ Change isn’t the enemy. Once you start seeing yourself as a lifelong learner looking for ways to grow and improve, change becomes your friend. Learn from the people you meet, pursue new ideas, strategies, and ways to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Jim Penner says: ‘Our bodies change no matter how hard we exercise…Our homes change as our needs ebb and flow. Our places of employment change as the winds of economic forces blow and new opportunities come…friendships change as family needs and employment pull us away…While many changes become enjoyable new seasons…sometimes they’re painful. But no matter what season of change you’re experiencing…you can find comfort in Malachi 3:6, ‘I am God…I haven’t changed…’ (TM). His mercies endure forever…and it’s an awesome feeling knowing He loves and directs you just like He directed all His people who came before you.’

    *EXPLOITS THROUGH CONQUERING FAITH*

    *TEXT:* JOSHUA 11:10-23.

    10 And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
    11 And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
    12 And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
    13 But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
    14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
    15 As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
    16 So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
    17 Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
    18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
    19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
    20 For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
    21 And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
    22 There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
    23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions"_ (Hebrews 11:32-33).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    William C. Martin (1878) penned down this song relevant to the topic of discussion.
    "In the warfare that is raging
    For the truth and for the right,
    When the conflict, fierce, is raging
    With the powers of the night,
    God needs people brave and true:
    May He then depend on you?
    Refrain:
    May the Lord depend on you?
    Loyalty is but His due;
    Say, O spirit, brave and true,
    That He may depend on you".
    God's covenants to Israel were majorly earthly and therefore, their warfares to possess their promises were physical. For the New Testament, the covenant is mostly spiritual and heavenly and therefore the warfares of the New Testament saints are spiritual. *"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."* (2 Corinthians 10:4). Lessons on Old Testament physical warfares are meant to teach the New Testament saints some important features of spiritual warfare which is a major part of successful and victorious Christian living.
    Joshua and Israel faced formidable kings, fortified cities and numerous enemies, yet God gave them victory. Their exploits demonstrated that conquering faith rested on obedience to God's authority and instructions with perseverance until the battle was completely won. When faith is anchored in God, no enemy can ultimately withstand His purpose for His people.

    *1. Determined Destruction Accomplished*

    a. God had concluded from the time of Abraham that the Amorites would be obliterated when their iniquities reached the peak when God could no more tolerate them (Genesis 15:15,16; Exodus 34:11-13). The time now came to start possessing the land as promised, but they must fight for it, for it would not come on a platter of gold. All the promises of God have been paid for by the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. However, the adversary is always there to contest against those blessings and believers must be ready to contend and possess it as God has given us assurance of victory as legitimate owners of the blessings. Our Lord Himself said, *"the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force"* (Matthew 11:12). The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 were commended for their violence of faith, courage and determination as they fought spiritual warfares. The violence of believers is spiritual and had to do with violence and force of faith. Nobody will be able to possess his possessions here on earth and enter heaven eventually if he does not learn to be brave and violent in spiritual warfare against the flesh, fiends, faithlessness, fear and foolishness.
    b. Joshua did not leave unfinished what God had commanded him to accomplish. Hazor, the head of the northern kingdoms, was captured and destroyed and its king was put to death. The destruction was decisive because Joshua understood that partial obedience could jeopardize the victory God had promised. Conquering faith is determined faith—it does not retreat because the opposition is strong or the assignment is difficult. What God commands must be pursued with courage and perseverance. Joshua, with courageous faith, moved along the will and Word of God and destroyed those that God had condemned to destruction because they refused to repent.

    *Question*

    Are there areas of your life where God expects you to exercise determined faith and completely overcome persistent opposition?

    *2. Done According to the Divine Authority*

    a. The destruction of the Canaanites by Joshua in the text took about 7 years though it was recorded as if they all happened in rapidity. God had told them that they would conquer the land *"little by little"*. (Exodus 23:30, Deuteronomy 7:22). You don't expect those formidable enemies to be overcome without giving a strong fight and resistance. Spiritual wars, like the physical wars are at times protracted. In order to overcome the adversary, there is a need to maintain a persistent and untiring warfare disposition and attitude for Satan and his agents will not give up without a strong and persistent resistance. So, fight manfully onward and never give up but persist until you laugh last. God has destined and programmed you for total victory. The "little by little" approach also gave the Canaanites the opportunity to repent and seek for mercy like Rahab and her household and the Gibeonites did.
    Joshua acted according to the command of the LORD. Those who perished must have been adamant because it had been settled that Israel would destroy all of them just like Rahab confessed (Joshua 2:9-11). All those who perished perished because they chose to and not for lack of opportunity to repent. Rahab and her household, the Giebeonites and the Shechemites decided not to perish and they did not because they did the needful. Those people refused to repent, their hearts were hardened through rejection of mercy. This hardening of men’s hearts is when God gives man up to his sin after the person refused the mercy of God (Romans 1:24-28).
    b. How could Joshua have overcome? Israel was not trained in the art of warfare at the time. Second, Israel did not have horses and chariots to fight, whereas the Canaanites had in abundance. Yet, God told them that it was a battle of faith and therefore, they should not fear the better equipped and stronger adversaries. *"And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire"*. It was like the case of little David versus the giant Goliath. Spiritual battles, while doing the needful, do not look at the size and the arrogance of the adversaries. With faith in God, their horses and chariots will be defeated. *"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God"* (Psalm 20:7). Can you imagine a poorly trained and inexperienced army of Israel defeating better trained
    coalition of nations in their multitudes with their horses and chariots? Obeying God's Word and instruction is always a guarantee of victory regardless of the might and the arsenal of the adversaries. Joshua did not depend on personal wisdom or military strength; he carried out God's instructions. Verse 15 emphasizes that Joshua did everything the LORD commanded Moses, and Moses had commanded Joshua. True exploits are accomplished under divine authority. Faith becomes powerful when it is joined with obedience. The victory was not merely Joshua's achievement; it was God's purpose being fulfilled through a yielded servant. We too must learn to follow God's Word even when His instructions challenge our natural reasoning.

    *Question*

    Are your decisions and actions being governed by God's Word and divine authority?

    *3. The Defeat of the Dreaded Adversaries*

    The Anakims were the most dreaded adversaries of Israel while they were in the wilderness. In fact, the spies (10 of them) sent said they were like grasshoppers compared to the Anakims (Numbers 13:27-33). It was the fear of those people that made Israel to be punished in the wilderness with 40 years of wandering and deaths. God delayed this fight to be their last fight so that Israel would have, from experience, learnt the art of warfare. They did not know that God had His own strategy of training them to be fit for the warfare against those terrorizing adversaries. When God gives a promise, don't look at your weakness and be asking how possible. God has His own plan to make you fit enough to deal with the enemy before He Himself takes over. "The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow" and victory is certain.
    b. The promise of Deuteronomy 9:1–3, which specifically predicts the defeat of the fearsome Anakites, is fulfilled(Joshua 11:21–23). Those who once appeared invincible were overcome by the power of God. Joshua's victory teaches us that yesterday's giants need not determine today's destiny. Through conquering faith, intimidating obstacles can become testimonies of God's faithfulness. Finally, the land had rest from war. When God's people trust Him, obey His commands and persevere in faith, victory and divine rest become possible.

    *Question*

    What “giant” or dreaded adversary are you allowing to intimidate you instead of confronting it through faith in God?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, give me conquering faith to overcome every persistent opposition standing against Your purpose for my life.
    2.Father, help me to walk in complete obedience to Your Word and submit every decision to Your divine authority .
    3.O Lord, bring down every giant and defeat every dreaded adversary confronting my progress, destiny and calling .
    4.Father, grant Your children lasting victory and divine rest after every battle and let their lives become testimonies of Your mighty exploits .

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle" (JOSHUA 11:19).*_
    *Mercy from God is that vital element that no one can earn, deserve or merit. It is an inalienable deed that underpins God's dealings with fallible humankind, saved or unsaved. When all else fails, God's mercies will never fail.*
    *The Canaanites and other nations in the Promised Land engaged in battle against Joshua and the Israelites without seeking a peace agreement, despite their unfavourable position. In this chapter, Joshua faced a coalition of Canaanite forces, defeating them before turning his attention to the northern region. The city of Hazor was captured and burned, with its spoils taken by the Israelites. Joshua then advanced towards the hills and southern territories, continuing the conflict until the entirety of the land was subdued and allocated to the tribes of Israel. The account raises challenging questions regarding the nature of a loving God permitting such violence, particularly the killing of women and children. This narrative has sparked criticism towards the Scripture, leading to inquiries about the justness of these holy wars and casting doubt on divine benevolence, consequently perplexing many readers.*
    *The text emphasises that the people in the land repeatedly heard about God's actions but chose to resist and did not seek mercy, with the Gibeonites being the only exception, although through deceit. Instead of pursuing peace, they relied on military might, having engaged in idol worship and iniquity for centuries, including horrific sacrifices. Ultimately, God's judgment deemed it necessary to cleanse the land of those viewed as rebels and enemies, as the people were prepared to oppose Him rather than embrace His ways.*
    *No one can fight against God and expect to win. It is an effort in futility when we roll out our battle gear instead of pleading and repenting. God delights in mercy. He's not interested in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn to Him in repentance and live. "As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live..."*
    *Dispute over paternity can be resolved through a DNA test and lay to rest such controversy. Likewise, holiness puts to silence every debate on who a child of God is. God is holy, and anyone who professes to be His child must possess this very nature of God - holiness. An unholy life has no resemblance to God and no usefulness to the world.*
    *"Be ye holy" is God's command. Heaven is a holy place. The God of heaven is a Holy Being. The angels are holy creatures. Everything in heaven is holiness. It is impossible to get to heaven if we die unholy. The Holy Bible clearly states that: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).*
    *Holiness is not optional; it is mandatory for all who desire to see God and live with Him in eternity. To be holy simply means to be purged from inward and outward sins. Consecration, strong thirst, and hunger for the experience in desperate prayer will allow God to accomplish it in your life.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. ⏤ Romans 12:1
    He who runs from God in the morning will scarcely find Him the rest of the day. ⏤ John Bunyan
    Almighty God, the Father of us all, in whom we live and move and have our being—we worship You and give thanks to Your great and holy name. Our hearts are full of memories of Sunday. May we be like those who have walked among fragrant flowers, carrying the scent on our very garments. May we be more joyful, more trusting, more holy, more loving, and more prayerful because of the holy influences that saturated our lives yesterday.
    You are the God of the evening and the morning. Every day reveals where You have walked in love. We thank You for this day that now shines upon us. We need Your presence with us through all its hours, for we don’t know what they hold for us:
    what duties,
    what problems that must be solved,
    what decisions that must be made,
    what responsibilities that must be met,
    what surprises of joy or sorrow,
    what temptations,
    what conflicts,
    what dangers.
    We don’t know—but You do, and we’re not afraid to leave it all in Your hands. Bless us with peace, wisdom, and strength for whatever lies ahead. Take our hands and guide us.
    We consecrate ourselves to You this day, O God, for life and service. We are Yours, and we present ourselves as a living sacrifice to You. We want to live only for You. Help us to renounce all claims on ourselves and truly be Yours. If we are called to any hard duty, task, or service—give us the grace to accept Your will cheerfully and to do what pleases You. Work deeply in us by Your Spirit, continuing the renewal of our nature, and building us up in holiness and righteousness, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
"WELCOME THIS CHANGE" ‘…have your sandals on and your walking stick in your hand...’ Exodus 12:11 NCV. THE BOY Scout motto is ‘Be prepared,’ and it’s a good one. In Exodus, God told Israel, ‘…eat…fully dressed as if you were going on a trip…have your sandals on and your walking stick in your hand.’ In other words, ‘Be ready when I tell you to move!’ Maybe there’s an area in your life where God is telling you it’s time to move, but fear is making you hold back. Don’t! Change is just evidence of growth. What worked yesterday can be tomorrow’s recipe for failure. You can’t become who you are destined to be, if you insist on staying as you are. John Patterson said, ‘Only fools and dead men don’t change…Fools won’t, and dead men can’t.’ Change isn’t the enemy. Once you start seeing yourself as a lifelong learner looking for ways to grow and improve, change becomes your friend. Learn from the people you meet, pursue new ideas, strategies, and ways to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Jim Penner says: ‘Our bodies change no matter how hard we exercise…Our homes change as our needs ebb and flow. Our places of employment change as the winds of economic forces blow and new opportunities come…friendships change as family needs and employment pull us away…While many changes become enjoyable new seasons…sometimes they’re painful. But no matter what season of change you’re experiencing…you can find comfort in Malachi 3:6, ‘I am God…I haven’t changed…’ (TM). His mercies endure forever…and it’s an awesome feeling knowing He loves and directs you just like He directed all His people who came before you.’ Bible In A Year: Ezek 1-4, Matt 21:1-11, Ps 119:161-168, Pro 19:3-8. [23/08, 7:59 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* MONDAY, 24TH AUGUST, 2026. *EXPLOITS THROUGH CONQUERING FAITH* *TEXT:* JOSHUA 11:10-23. 10 And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms. 11 And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire. 12 And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded. 13 But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn. 14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe. 15 As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. 16 So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same; 17 Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them. 18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. 19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle. 20 For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. 21 And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. 22 There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained. 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. *Timeless Truth:*_"And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions"_ (Hebrews 11:32-33). *INTRODUCTION* William C. Martin (1878) penned down this song relevant to the topic of discussion. "In the warfare that is raging For the truth and for the right, When the conflict, fierce, is raging With the powers of the night, God needs people brave and true: May He then depend on you? Refrain: May the Lord depend on you? Loyalty is but His due; Say, O spirit, brave and true, That He may depend on you". God's covenants to Israel were majorly earthly and therefore, their warfares to possess their promises were physical. For the New Testament, the covenant is mostly spiritual and heavenly and therefore the warfares of the New Testament saints are spiritual. *"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."* (2 Corinthians 10:4). Lessons on Old Testament physical warfares are meant to teach the New Testament saints some important features of spiritual warfare which is a major part of successful and victorious Christian living. Joshua and Israel faced formidable kings, fortified cities and numerous enemies, yet God gave them victory. Their exploits demonstrated that conquering faith rested on obedience to God's authority and instructions with perseverance until the battle was completely won. When faith is anchored in God, no enemy can ultimately withstand His purpose for His people. *1. Determined Destruction Accomplished* a. God had concluded from the time of Abraham that the Amorites would be obliterated when their iniquities reached the peak when God could no more tolerate them (Genesis 15:15,16; Exodus 34:11-13). The time now came to start possessing the land as promised, but they must fight for it, for it would not come on a platter of gold. All the promises of God have been paid for by the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. However, the adversary is always there to contest against those blessings and believers must be ready to contend and possess it as God has given us assurance of victory as legitimate owners of the blessings. Our Lord Himself said, *"the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force"* (Matthew 11:12). The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 were commended for their violence of faith, courage and determination as they fought spiritual warfares. The violence of believers is spiritual and had to do with violence and force of faith. Nobody will be able to possess his possessions here on earth and enter heaven eventually if he does not learn to be brave and violent in spiritual warfare against the flesh, fiends, faithlessness, fear and foolishness. b. Joshua did not leave unfinished what God had commanded him to accomplish. Hazor, the head of the northern kingdoms, was captured and destroyed and its king was put to death. The destruction was decisive because Joshua understood that partial obedience could jeopardize the victory God had promised. Conquering faith is determined faith—it does not retreat because the opposition is strong or the assignment is difficult. What God commands must be pursued with courage and perseverance. Joshua, with courageous faith, moved along the will and Word of God and destroyed those that God had condemned to destruction because they refused to repent. *Question* Are there areas of your life where God expects you to exercise determined faith and completely overcome persistent opposition? *2. Done According to the Divine Authority* a. The destruction of the Canaanites by Joshua in the text took about 7 years though it was recorded as if they all happened in rapidity. God had told them that they would conquer the land *"little by little"*. (Exodus 23:30, Deuteronomy 7:22). You don't expect those formidable enemies to be overcome without giving a strong fight and resistance. Spiritual wars, like the physical wars are at times protracted. In order to overcome the adversary, there is a need to maintain a persistent and untiring warfare disposition and attitude for Satan and his agents will not give up without a strong and persistent resistance. So, fight manfully onward and never give up but persist until you laugh last. God has destined and programmed you for total victory. The "little by little" approach also gave the Canaanites the opportunity to repent and seek for mercy like Rahab and her household and the Gibeonites did. Joshua acted according to the command of the LORD. Those who perished must have been adamant because it had been settled that Israel would destroy all of them just like Rahab confessed (Joshua 2:9-11). All those who perished perished because they chose to and not for lack of opportunity to repent. Rahab and her household, the Giebeonites and the Shechemites decided not to perish and they did not because they did the needful. Those people refused to repent, their hearts were hardened through rejection of mercy. This hardening of men’s hearts is when God gives man up to his sin after the person refused the mercy of God (Romans 1:24-28). b. How could Joshua have overcome? Israel was not trained in the art of warfare at the time. Second, Israel did not have horses and chariots to fight, whereas the Canaanites had in abundance. Yet, God told them that it was a battle of faith and therefore, they should not fear the better equipped and stronger adversaries. *"And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire"*. It was like the case of little David versus the giant Goliath. Spiritual battles, while doing the needful, do not look at the size and the arrogance of the adversaries. With faith in God, their horses and chariots will be defeated. *"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God"* (Psalm 20:7). Can you imagine a poorly trained and inexperienced army of Israel defeating better trained coalition of nations in their multitudes with their horses and chariots? Obeying God's Word and instruction is always a guarantee of victory regardless of the might and the arsenal of the adversaries. Joshua did not depend on personal wisdom or military strength; he carried out God's instructions. Verse 15 emphasizes that Joshua did everything the LORD commanded Moses, and Moses had commanded Joshua. True exploits are accomplished under divine authority. Faith becomes powerful when it is joined with obedience. The victory was not merely Joshua's achievement; it was God's purpose being fulfilled through a yielded servant. We too must learn to follow God's Word even when His instructions challenge our natural reasoning. *Question* Are your decisions and actions being governed by God's Word and divine authority? *3. The Defeat of the Dreaded Adversaries* The Anakims were the most dreaded adversaries of Israel while they were in the wilderness. In fact, the spies (10 of them) sent said they were like grasshoppers compared to the Anakims (Numbers 13:27-33). It was the fear of those people that made Israel to be punished in the wilderness with 40 years of wandering and deaths. God delayed this fight to be their last fight so that Israel would have, from experience, learnt the art of warfare. They did not know that God had His own strategy of training them to be fit for the warfare against those terrorizing adversaries. When God gives a promise, don't look at your weakness and be asking how possible. God has His own plan to make you fit enough to deal with the enemy before He Himself takes over. "The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow" and victory is certain. b. The promise of Deuteronomy 9:1–3, which specifically predicts the defeat of the fearsome Anakites, is fulfilled(Joshua 11:21–23). Those who once appeared invincible were overcome by the power of God. Joshua's victory teaches us that yesterday's giants need not determine today's destiny. Through conquering faith, intimidating obstacles can become testimonies of God's faithfulness. Finally, the land had rest from war. When God's people trust Him, obey His commands and persevere in faith, victory and divine rest become possible. *Question* What “giant” or dreaded adversary are you allowing to intimidate you instead of confronting it through faith in God? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, give me conquering faith to overcome every persistent opposition standing against Your purpose for my life. 2.Father, help me to walk in complete obedience to Your Word and submit every decision to Your divine authority 🙏. 3.O Lord, bring down every giant and defeat every dreaded adversary confronting my progress, destiny and calling 🙏. 4.Father, grant Your children lasting victory and divine rest after every battle and let their lives become testimonies of Your mighty exploits 🙏. *HYMN:* May The Lord Depend On You. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* DANIEL 11-12. It is an inalienable deed that underpins God's dealings with fallible humankind, saved or unsaved. When all else fails, God's mercies will never fail.* *The Canaanites and other nations in the Promised Land engaged in battle against Joshua and the Israelites without seeking a peace agreement, despite their unfavourable position. In this chapter, Joshua faced a coalition of Canaanite forces, defeating them before turning his attention to the northern region. The city of Hazor was captured and burned, with its spoils taken by the Israelites. Joshua then advanced towards the hills and southern territories, continuing the conflict until the entirety of the land was subdued and allocated to the tribes of Israel. The account raises challenging questions regarding the nature of a loving God permitting such violence, particularly the killing of women and children. This narrative has sparked criticism towards the Scripture, leading to inquiries about the justness of these holy wars and casting doubt on divine benevolence, consequently perplexing many readers.* *The text emphasises that the people in the land repeatedly heard about God's actions but chose to resist and did not seek mercy, with the Gibeonites being the only exception, although through deceit. Instead of pursuing peace, they relied on military might, having engaged in idol worship and iniquity for centuries, including horrific sacrifices. Ultimately, God's judgment deemed it necessary to cleanse the land of those viewed as rebels and enemies, as the people were prepared to oppose Him rather than embrace His ways.* *No one can fight against God and expect to win. It is an effort in futility when we roll out our battle gear instead of pleading and repenting. God delights in mercy. He's not interested in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn to Him in repentance and live. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. ⏤ Romans 12:1 He who runs from God in the morning will scarcely find Him the rest of the day. ⏤ John Bunyan Almighty God, the Father of us all, in whom we live and move and have our being—we worship You and give thanks to Your great and holy name. Our hearts are full of memories of Sunday. May we be like those who have walked among fragrant flowers, carrying the scent on our very garments. May we be more joyful, more trusting, more holy, more loving, and more prayerful because of the holy influences that saturated our lives yesterday. You are the God of the evening and the morning. Every day reveals where You have walked in love. We thank You for this day that now shines upon us. We need Your presence with us through all its hours, for we don’t know what they hold for us: what duties, what problems that must be solved, what decisions that must be made, what responsibilities that must be met, what surprises of joy or sorrow, what temptations, what conflicts, what dangers. We don’t know—but You do, and we’re not afraid to leave it all in Your hands. Bless us with peace, wisdom, and strength for whatever lies ahead. Take our hands and guide us. We consecrate ourselves to You this day, O God, for life and service. We are Yours, and we present ourselves as a living sacrifice to You. We want to live only for You. Help us to renounce all claims on ourselves and truly be Yours. If we are called to any hard duty, task, or service—give us the grace to accept Your will cheerfully and to do what pleases You. Work deeply in us by Your Spirit, continuing the renewal of our nature, and building us up in holiness and righteousness, through Jesus Christ our Savior.   • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS:
    SERMON TOPIC:
    HOW CAN YOU PRAY SO THAT GOD HEARS YOU?
    Main Text: Psalm 66:18–20; 1 John 5:14–15
    Supporting Texts: Matthew 6:5–13; James 5:16; Proverbs 15:29; Mark 11:24–25
    GOD IS STILL LISTENING.
    One of the deepest questions a believer can ask is:
    “When I pray, does God really hear me?”
    You may have prayed for months and seen no answer. You may have cried in secret, knelt beside your bed, prayed in church, prayed while travelling, prayed when nobody knew what you were going through—and still wondered, “God, are You hearing me?”
    Here is the good news:
    God hears prayer.
    But the Bible also teaches us that there is a way to approach God in prayer.
    Prayer is not merely talking loudly.
    Prayer is not using many religious words.
    Prayer is not trying to manipulate God.
    Prayer is fellowship with the Father.
    Jesus said:
    «“Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” — Matthew 6:8»
    So the question is not simply, “How much do I pray?”
    The deeper question is:
    “How do I position my heart when I pray?”
    1. PRAY WITH A SINCERE AND HUMBLE HEART
    God is not impressed by religious performance. He looks at the heart.
    Psalm 51:17 says:
    «“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart…”»
    David understood something important: God values the condition of the heart more than the appearance of the prayer.
    You can pray beautiful words with a proud heart and miss the heart of prayer.
    But you can come before God with tears, weakness, and simple words and experience His presence.
    Jesus' illustration
    In Luke 18:9–14, Jesus told the story of two men who went to the temple to pray.
    One was a Pharisee. He boasted about himself.
    The other was a tax collector. He simply cried:
    «“God be merciful to me a sinner.” — Luke 18:13»
    Jesus said the humble man went home justified.
    Spiritual lesson
    God is not looking for impressive prayers; He is looking for surrendered hearts.
    Come to God honestly.
    If you are hurting, tell Him.
    If you are confused, tell Him.
    If you have failed, confess it.
    If you are afraid, tell Him.
    Prayer begins when pretending ends.
    2. PRAY WITH FAITH
    James 1:6 says:
    «“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.”»
    Faith does not mean that you dictate to God what He must do.
    Faith means that you trust who God is, even when you do not understand what He is doing.
    Mark 11:24 says:
    «“What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”»
    Faith says:
    “Father, I believe You are able.”
    And when the answer does not come immediately:
    “Father, I still trust You.”
    Faith does not disappear because the answer is delayed.
    Remember the three possible answers to prayer:
    YES — God grants the request.
    WAIT — God is working, but the timing is different.
    NO — God knows something you do not know.
    A “no” from God is not proof that God has abandoned you.
    Sometimes God's refusal is protection.
    Sometimes His delay is preparation.
    Sometimes His silence is developing your spiritual maturity.
    3. PRAY ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL
    One of the most powerful scriptures on prayer is:
    «“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” — 1 John 5:14»
    Notice the words:
    “According to His will.”
    Prayer is not about making God's will submit to ours.
    Prayer is about bringing our desires into alignment with God's will.
    Jesus demonstrated this in Gethsemane.
    He prayed:
    «“Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” — Luke 22:42»
    Jesus was facing the cross, yet He surrendered to the Father's will.
    That is mature prayer.
    A child may say:
    “God, give me what I want.”
    But spiritual maturity says:
    “God, give me what You know is best.”
    A powerful prayer to learn:
    “Lord, if this desire is from You, establish it. If it is not from You, remove it. And if I must wait, give me grace to wait.”
    4. DEAL WITH UNFORGIVENESS AND SIN
    We must be careful here.
    The Bible does not teach that every unanswered prayer means a person has committed some hidden sin.
    Job suffered greatly without being guilty of the accusations brought against him.
    However, Scripture clearly teaches that deliberate, unrepentant sin can affect our relationship and fellowship with God.
    Psalm 66:18 says:
    «“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”»
    And Isaiah 59:2 says:
    «“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God…”»
    God is merciful, but we should not treat sin casually.
    What about unforgiveness?
    Jesus taught:
    «“And when ye stand praying, forgive…” — Mark 11:25»
    You cannot continuously ask God for mercy while deliberately refusing to show mercy to others.
    Forgiveness does not mean saying that what happened was acceptable.
    Forgiveness means releasing vengeance into God's hands.
    Ask yourself:
    “Is there somebody I need to forgive?”
    “Is there something God has been asking me to surrender?”
    “Am I asking God to bless something He has already told me to leave?”
    5. PRAY WITH PERSISTENCE
    Some answers require persistent prayer.
    Jesus taught this through the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1–8.
    The purpose of the parable was clear:
    «“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” — Luke 18:1»
    Do not stop praying simply because you have not yet seen the answer.
    Daniel gives us another powerful example.
    In Daniel 10, Daniel prayed and fasted. His answer was delayed, but heaven had heard him from the beginning.
    The angel told him:
    «“From the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand… thy words were heard.” — Daniel 10:12»
    Think about that!
    Daniel was praying on earth while heaven was already responding.
    The delay did not mean God had ignored him.
    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:
    HANNAH — A WOMAN WHO POURED OUT HER SOUL
    Hannah's story in 1 Samuel 1 is one of the clearest pictures of persistent prayer.
    She was deeply troubled because she had no child.
    She went to the house of the Lord and prayed.
    She didn't simply perform a religious ritual.
    She poured out her soul before God.
    Eli initially misunderstood her.
    But Hannah kept praying.
    Eventually, God answered her prayer and gave her Samuel.
    Her story teaches us:
    1. You can bring your deepest pain to God.
    2. People may misunderstand your prayer, but God understands your heart.
    3. Delay does not mean denial.
    4. God can turn tears into testimony.
    Hannah went into the presence of God carrying sorrow.
    She came out carrying peace.
    The circumstances had not immediately changed—but something had changed inside her.
    That is one of the miracles of prayer.
    Sometimes prayer changes the situation.
    Sometimes prayer changes the person going through the situation.
    And sometimes God does both.
    WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT GOD "HEARS" PRAYER?
    When Scripture says God hears prayer, it means far more than God simply detecting our words.
    It means God attends to, receives, and responds according to His wisdom and will.
    God hears the prayer of His children.
    Proverbs 15:29 says:
    «“The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”»
    And James 5:16 declares:
    «“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”»
    Your prayer may look small on earth, but it is not small when it reaches heaven.
    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS
    1. SET A CONSISTENT PRAYER TIME
    Do not pray only when there is an emergency.
    Build a prayer life.
    2. BEGIN WITH WORSHIP
    Before presenting your shopping list to God, acknowledge who He is.
    “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…” — Matthew 6:9
    DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS
    1. God's silence is not necessarily God's absence.
    You may not hear anything, but God may still be working.
    2. Prayer is not primarily about getting things; it is about knowing God.
    The greatest answer to prayer is not always a possession.
    Sometimes it is God Himself.
    3. Prayer changes the atmosphere of the person praying.
    You may enter prayer anxious and leave with peace.
    4. God's answer may be different from your expectation.
    Never limit God to one method of answering.
    5. The strongest prayer is surrendered prayer.
    “Lord, have Your way” is one of the deepest expressions of faith.
    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
    1. When I pray, am I seeking God's will or only demanding my own will?
    2. Is there any known sin I need to confess?
    3. Is there someone I need to forgive?
    4. Have I stopped praying because my answer is delayed?
    5. Do I genuinely trust God when His answer is different from what I expected?
    6. Is my prayer life based on relationship with God or only on emergency needs?
    7. What prayer have I abandoned that God may be asking me to continue bringing before Him?
    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS
    1. PRAYER FOR A DEEPER PRAYER LIFE
    Father, awaken in me a fresh hunger for prayer. Take away spiritual laziness and teach me to seek Your face consistently, in Jesus' name.
    2. PRAYER FOR A PURE HEART
    Lord, search my heart. Reveal anything that is displeasing to You and give me grace to repent and walk in righteousness.
    3. PRAYER FOR FAITH
    Father, increase my faith. When answers are delayed, help me trust You. When I cannot see the way, help me believe that You are still working.
    4. PRAYER FOR GOD'S WILL
    Lord, deliver me from insisting on my own way. Align my desires with Your purpose and give me grace to say, “Your will be done.”
    5. PRAYER FOR PERSISTENCE
    Father, give me strength not to faint in prayer. Help me continue believing until Your appointed time.
    6. PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS
    Lord, give me grace to forgive those who have hurt me. Heal my heart and remove bitterness from my spirit.
    7. PRAYER FOR DIVINE ANSWERS
    Father, concerning every legitimate request I have brought before You, let Your perfect will be established. Open the right doors, close the wrong doors, and lead me according to Your purpose.
    8. PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY
    Holy Spirit, teach me to recognize Your voice. Help me distinguish Your leading from my emotions, fears, and human desires.
    DON'T JUST PRAY—BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
    Beloved, prayer is not a religious emergency button.
    Prayer is relationship.
    Do not wait until everything is falling apart before you seek God.
    Pray when you are happy.
    Pray when you are confused.
    Pray when you have money.
    Pray when you have nothing.
    Pray when the door opens.
    Pray when the door closes.
    Pray when you understand.
    Pray when you don't understand.
    And above all, pray with a heart that trusts God.
    Remember:
    A delayed answer is not necessarily a denied prayer.
    God's silence is not necessarily God's absence.
    God's “no” is not a rejection of you.
    And God's “wait” is not a waste of your time.
    There is a God who hears.
    There is a God who sees.
    There is a God who knows.
    There is a God who answers.
    So keep praying. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Keep walking with God.
    FINAL DECLARATION
    I will not give up in prayer.
    I will not allow delay to destroy my faith.
    I will seek God's face, not merely His hands.
    I will surrender my will to His will.
    I will forgive.
    I will believe.
    I will persevere.
    And I will trust the God who hears me.
    In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
    TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: HOW CAN YOU PRAY SO THAT GOD HEARS YOU? Main Text: Psalm 66:18–20; 1 John 5:14–15 Supporting Texts: Matthew 6:5–13; James 5:16; Proverbs 15:29; Mark 11:24–25 GOD IS STILL LISTENING. One of the deepest questions a believer can ask is: “When I pray, does God really hear me?” You may have prayed for months and seen no answer. You may have cried in secret, knelt beside your bed, prayed in church, prayed while travelling, prayed when nobody knew what you were going through—and still wondered, “God, are You hearing me?” Here is the good news: God hears prayer. But the Bible also teaches us that there is a way to approach God in prayer. Prayer is not merely talking loudly. Prayer is not using many religious words. Prayer is not trying to manipulate God. Prayer is fellowship with the Father. Jesus said: «“Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” — Matthew 6:8» So the question is not simply, “How much do I pray?” The deeper question is: “How do I position my heart when I pray?” 1. PRAY WITH A SINCERE AND HUMBLE HEART God is not impressed by religious performance. He looks at the heart. Psalm 51:17 says: «“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart…”» David understood something important: God values the condition of the heart more than the appearance of the prayer. You can pray beautiful words with a proud heart and miss the heart of prayer. But you can come before God with tears, weakness, and simple words and experience His presence. Jesus' illustration In Luke 18:9–14, Jesus told the story of two men who went to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee. He boasted about himself. The other was a tax collector. He simply cried: «“God be merciful to me a sinner.” — Luke 18:13» Jesus said the humble man went home justified. Spiritual lesson God is not looking for impressive prayers; He is looking for surrendered hearts. Come to God honestly. If you are hurting, tell Him. If you are confused, tell Him. If you have failed, confess it. If you are afraid, tell Him. Prayer begins when pretending ends. 2. PRAY WITH FAITH James 1:6 says: «“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.”» Faith does not mean that you dictate to God what He must do. Faith means that you trust who God is, even when you do not understand what He is doing. Mark 11:24 says: «“What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”» Faith says: “Father, I believe You are able.” And when the answer does not come immediately: “Father, I still trust You.” Faith does not disappear because the answer is delayed. Remember the three possible answers to prayer: YES — God grants the request. WAIT — God is working, but the timing is different. NO — God knows something you do not know. A “no” from God is not proof that God has abandoned you. Sometimes God's refusal is protection. Sometimes His delay is preparation. Sometimes His silence is developing your spiritual maturity. 3. PRAY ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL One of the most powerful scriptures on prayer is: «“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” — 1 John 5:14» Notice the words: “According to His will.” Prayer is not about making God's will submit to ours. Prayer is about bringing our desires into alignment with God's will. Jesus demonstrated this in Gethsemane. He prayed: «“Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” — Luke 22:42» Jesus was facing the cross, yet He surrendered to the Father's will. That is mature prayer. A child may say: “God, give me what I want.” But spiritual maturity says: “God, give me what You know is best.” A powerful prayer to learn: “Lord, if this desire is from You, establish it. If it is not from You, remove it. And if I must wait, give me grace to wait.” 4. DEAL WITH UNFORGIVENESS AND SIN We must be careful here. The Bible does not teach that every unanswered prayer means a person has committed some hidden sin. Job suffered greatly without being guilty of the accusations brought against him. However, Scripture clearly teaches that deliberate, unrepentant sin can affect our relationship and fellowship with God. Psalm 66:18 says: «“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”» And Isaiah 59:2 says: «“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God…”» God is merciful, but we should not treat sin casually. What about unforgiveness? Jesus taught: «“And when ye stand praying, forgive…” — Mark 11:25» You cannot continuously ask God for mercy while deliberately refusing to show mercy to others. Forgiveness does not mean saying that what happened was acceptable. Forgiveness means releasing vengeance into God's hands. Ask yourself: “Is there somebody I need to forgive?” “Is there something God has been asking me to surrender?” “Am I asking God to bless something He has already told me to leave?” 5. PRAY WITH PERSISTENCE Some answers require persistent prayer. Jesus taught this through the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1–8. The purpose of the parable was clear: «“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” — Luke 18:1» Do not stop praying simply because you have not yet seen the answer. Daniel gives us another powerful example. In Daniel 10, Daniel prayed and fasted. His answer was delayed, but heaven had heard him from the beginning. The angel told him: «“From the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand… thy words were heard.” — Daniel 10:12» Think about that! Daniel was praying on earth while heaven was already responding. The delay did not mean God had ignored him. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: HANNAH — A WOMAN WHO POURED OUT HER SOUL Hannah's story in 1 Samuel 1 is one of the clearest pictures of persistent prayer. She was deeply troubled because she had no child. She went to the house of the Lord and prayed. She didn't simply perform a religious ritual. She poured out her soul before God. Eli initially misunderstood her. But Hannah kept praying. Eventually, God answered her prayer and gave her Samuel. Her story teaches us: 1. You can bring your deepest pain to God. 2. People may misunderstand your prayer, but God understands your heart. 3. Delay does not mean denial. 4. God can turn tears into testimony. Hannah went into the presence of God carrying sorrow. She came out carrying peace. The circumstances had not immediately changed—but something had changed inside her. That is one of the miracles of prayer. Sometimes prayer changes the situation. Sometimes prayer changes the person going through the situation. And sometimes God does both. WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT GOD "HEARS" PRAYER? When Scripture says God hears prayer, it means far more than God simply detecting our words. It means God attends to, receives, and responds according to His wisdom and will. God hears the prayer of His children. Proverbs 15:29 says: «“The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”» And James 5:16 declares: «“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”» Your prayer may look small on earth, but it is not small when it reaches heaven. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. SET A CONSISTENT PRAYER TIME Do not pray only when there is an emergency. Build a prayer life. 2. BEGIN WITH WORSHIP Before presenting your shopping list to God, acknowledge who He is. “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…” — Matthew 6:9 3. CONFESS YOUR SINS Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart. Psalm 139:23–24 4. PRAY SCRIPTURE Use God's Word as the foundation of your prayers. 5. ASK SPECIFICALLY Instead of only saying, “Lord, bless me,” tell God what you are trusting Him for. 6. LEARN TO LISTEN Prayer is not a one-way conversation. After speaking, become quiet before God.     *TOPIC:*
    PURSUIT OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
    *TEXT:*
    EPHESIANS 4:13-14.
    13. until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
    14. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
    PURSUIT OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
    *THE MESSAGE:*
    The Holy Spirit bestows special gifts on believers to equip and edify them for spiritual maturity. The goal is for believers to attain the "unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God", growing into the fullness of Christ (v. 13). Paul contrasts this maturity with spiritual immaturity (v. 14). Warning against being misled by false teachings and deceptive doctrines. Instead, believers are to speak the truth in love, growing up in every way into Christ, who is the Head of the body. Many, especially the young, are misled by human philosophies. For example, relativism - which teaches that there is no absolute truth, what is true for you may not be true for me. Are you growing in the faith? Maintain a consistent life of Prayer, Bible Study, and Christian Fellowship to grow in maturity.
    *REFLECTION:*
    Desire spiritual nourishment.
    *PRAYER:*
    Lord, help me to crave spiritual growth. Amen.
    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
    "If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."
    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    EZEKIEL 29-30.
    ED.ii. WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
    "Be filled with the Spirit." - Ephesians 5:18
    According to the Bible, the Holy Spirit is a Person. Let this message penetrate your mind. When Jesus speaks about the Holy Spirit, Jesus always refers to 'He'. HE is not a thing but a person. We see in the Bible that the Holy Spirit has a mind, emotions and a will. The Holy Spirit speaks. Revelation 2:7 says: 'Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'
    The Holy Spirit intercedes. Romans 8:26 says: 'The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.'
    The Holy Spirit testifies. John 15:26 says: 'The Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father — He will testify about Me.'
    The Holy Spirit shows the way. John 16:13 says: 'But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.'
    The Holy Spirit leads. Romans 8:14 says: 'For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.'
    The Holy Spirit gives instructions. Acts 16:6 says: '…having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.'
    The Holy Spirit appoints. Acts 20:28 says: 'Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers.'
    The Holy Spirit is also a Person to whom you can lie. Read the history of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11. You can insult (see Hebrews 10:29), blaspheme (see Matthew 12:31) and grieve the Spirit (see Ephesians 4:30).
    The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person and is everywhere. Today God still wants to fill His children with His Holy Spirit!
    Evening Prayer for today.
    EP.i. Evening Prayer
    A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. ⏤ Psalm 23:1-3
    God loves importunate prayer so much that He will not give us much blessing without it. ⏤ Adoniram Judson
    O Lord, You are our Shepherd; we will lack nothing. You make us lie down in green pastures and lead us beside still waters. You have been our Shepherd today. We have been in Your pastures as we have read Your word and worshiped with Your people.
    We bow at Your throne with grateful hearts at the close of this day. We gather up the precious fragments of this day to carry with us, to feed upon in the days ahead. You have kept our feet from stumbling, our eyes from tears, and our souls from death.
    We have walked with Jesus, and our hearts have burned within us as He talked with us along the way.
    We ask You to fix deep in our hearts all the good impressions, lessons learned, and influences that have touched our lives today. Too often, we make sincere resolves and promises while our hearts are warmed with love, only to forget them tomorrow. Fix this Sunday's teachings so deeply in our minds that we never lose them. May we be stronger in faith, more earnest in purpose, and more holy in thought and feeling because of our communion with You this day.
    Ever-living God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps—take charge of our bodies and souls during the dark hours of the night. Give us refreshing rest and sleep. Let tomorrow be sweet and holy, made so by the blessings of Sunday flowing into it. May we carry the fragrance of this day into the world’s life. And to Him who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Loving and Gracious in All Things
    “There are those people who would say, ‘I’d rather deal with somebody who is rude, antagonistic and sarcastic, but when it really matters, is there for us in the big challenges of life.’
    But when one reads the Holy Bible, Old and New Testament, the character of God is such that He expects us not only to be loving and gracious on the big things, but also on the little things. To be loving and gracious only when it really matters, or only when it is convenient, is not the character of Christ. We must be loving and gracious in all things—big and small.”
    Christian Character Is Revealed in the Little Things
    It is easy to admire someone who stands beside us during a great crisis. Faithfulness in difficult times matters. But Christianity calls us to something deeper.
    God does not ask us to love only when the circumstances are serious. He calls us to love in the ordinary moments of everyday life.
    Jesus said:
    “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” — Luke 16:10
    The little things matter because the little things reveal the heart.
    How do we speak when we are irritated?
    How do we treat someone who inconveniences us?
    How do we respond when someone disagrees with us?
    How do we speak about people who aren’t present?
    These things may seem insignificant to the world, but they are not insignificant to God.
    Love Is Not Selective
    Jesus gave His followers a standard far higher than simply being decent when it is convenient:
    “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you.” — John 13:34
    Christ’s love was not reserved for emergencies. It was woven into everything He did.
    Paul says:
    “Let all your things be done with charity.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14
    Notice the word all.
    Not some things.
    Not the important things.
    All things.
    Our speech, our attitudes, our reactions and our relationships are all opportunities to reflect Christ.
    Paul also says:
    “Let your speech be always with grace.” — Colossians 4:6
    Always.
    Not only when we are preaching.
    Not only when we are dealing with someone we love.
    Not only when someone is watching.
    Always.
    Even When People Are Difficult
    Christian love is tested most when people are difficult.
    Jesus said:
    “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you.” — Matthew 5:44
    This does not mean Christians must tolerate abuse or refuse to confront wrongdoing. But even when we must establish boundaries or correct someone, we are not permitted to abandon Christlike love.
    Proverbs tells us:
    “A soft answer turneth away wrath.” — Proverbs 15:1
    And Paul commands:
    “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” — Ephesians 4:32
    Kindness is not weakness. Grace is not weakness. Forgiveness is not weakness.
    These are marks of someone being transformed by Christ.
    The Fruit of the Spirit Should Be Seen Every Day
    Paul describes the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit:
    “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.” — Galatians 5:22–23
    Notice how many of these qualities are revealed in ordinary interactions.
    Longsuffering. Gentleness. Goodness. Meekness.
    A person may demonstrate extraordinary courage during a crisis and still need the Holy Spirit to teach them patience in everyday life.
    Someone may sacrifice greatly for another person and yet continually wound others with their words.
    Christianity is not merely about doing great things occasionally. It is about becoming a person whose ordinary life reflects Jesus Christ.
    Christ in the Big and the Small
    Paul writes:
    “Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” — Colossians 3:17
    Whatever you do.
    That includes the dramatic moments of life—and the mundane ones.
    So yes, be the person who stands beside someone when tragedy strikes.
    Be the person who answers the call when someone is hurting.
    But also:
    Be kind when nothing important is happening.
    Be patient when you are irritated.
    Speak graciously when you could speak harshly.
    Forgive the small offenses.
    Refuse to return sarcasm with sarcasm and hostility with hostility.
    Because the Christian calling is not simply to be loving when “it really matters.”
    It is to be loving because Christ lives in us.
    Jesus said:
    “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” — John 13:35
    The world should see Christ not only in how we respond to life’s greatest tragedies, but in how we behave on an ordinary Tuesday afternoon.
    Love in the big things.
    Love in the little things.
    Grace in the big things.
    Grace in the little things.
    Mercy in the big things.
    Mercy in the little things.
    Because there are no insignificant moments when we are called to represent Jesus Christ.
    “Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14
    That is the Christian life: not occasional goodness, but a life increasingly shaped by the character of Christ.
    Loving and Gracious in All Things “There are those people who would say, ‘I’d rather deal with somebody who is rude, antagonistic and sarcastic, but when it really matters, is there for us in the big challenges of life.’ But when one reads the Holy Bible, Old and New Testament, the character of God is such that He expects us not only to be loving and gracious on the big things, but also on the little things. To be loving and gracious only when it really matters, or only when it is convenient, is not the character of Christ. We must be loving and gracious in all things—big and small.” Christian Character Is Revealed in the Little Things It is easy to admire someone who stands beside us during a great crisis. Faithfulness in difficult times matters. But Christianity calls us to something deeper. God does not ask us to love only when the circumstances are serious. He calls us to love in the ordinary moments of everyday life. Jesus said: “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” — Luke 16:10 The little things matter because the little things reveal the heart. How do we speak when we are irritated? How do we treat someone who inconveniences us? How do we respond when someone disagrees with us? How do we speak about people who aren’t present? These things may seem insignificant to the world, but they are not insignificant to God. Love Is Not Selective Jesus gave His followers a standard far higher than simply being decent when it is convenient: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you.” — John 13:34 Christ’s love was not reserved for emergencies.   • DO YOU KNOW WHO JESUS IS?
    Knowing His Name Is Not the Same as Knowing Him!
    Key Scripture — Acts 19:14–16 (KJV)
    “And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”
    Thought Of The Day...
    There is a tremendous difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Jesus.
    Acts 19 gives us a powerful and sobering picture of this truth. The seven sons of Sceva had heard about the miracles taking place through the Apostle Paul. They had witnessed or heard reports of demons being cast out and lives being transformed through the name of Jesus.
    They saw the results, but they did not understand the relationship behind the results.
    They wanted the authority Paul demonstrated without possessing the relationship Paul had.
    They attempted to use the name of Jesus almost like a spiritual formula. Earlier in the passage they said:
    “We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.”
    — Acts 19:13 (KJV)
    Notice their language.
    They did not say, “Jesus whom we know.”
    They said, “Jesus whom Paul preacheth.”
    Jesus was Paul's testimony, but He had not become their personal testimony.
    And that raises a serious question for every believer:
    Do you know Jesus for yourself?
    It is possible to grow up in church and still only know about Jesus.
    It is possible to know Scripture and still not truly surrender to Jesus.
    It is possible to sing about Jesus, preach about Jesus, teach about Jesus, shout about Jesus, and even use the name of Jesus—yet lack a genuine relationship with Him.
    Christianity was never intended to be secondhand.
    You cannot survive spiritually forever on your mother's relationship with God, your father's prayers, your pastor's anointing, your bishop's revelation, your spouse's faith, or your grandmother's testimony.
    Eventually, you must know Him for yourself.
    Paul could say:
    “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings…”
    — Philippians 3:10 (KJV)
    Paul wasn't satisfied merely knowing facts about Christ. His desire was, “That I may know Him.”
    “JESUS I KNOW, AND PAUL I KNOW; BUT WHO ARE YE?”
    These may be some of the most sobering words in Acts.
    The evil spirit responded:
    “Jesus I know.”
    There was no confusion in the kingdom of darkness concerning Jesus.
    The demons knew exactly who He was.
    During Jesus' earthly ministry, an unclean spirit cried:
    “I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.”
    — Mark 1:24 (KJV)
    James gives us another sobering reminder:
    “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
    — James 2:19 (KJV)
    Simply acknowledging that Jesus exists is not the same as belonging to Him.
    But then the spirit said something else:
    “Paul I know.”
    Why was Paul recognized?
    Because Paul's life demonstrated that he belonged to Jesus.
    Paul wasn't borrowing somebody else's faith. He had encountered Christ for himself. His authority did not come from merely repeating Jesus' name; it flowed from his relationship with and commission from Jesus.
    Then came the devastating question:
    “BUT WHO ARE YE?”
    In other words, You are using the name, but where is your relationship with the One whose name you are using?
    The sons of Sceva discovered that the name of Jesus is not a magical phrase.
    There is power in the name of Jesus because of who Jesus is.
    Jesus declared:
    “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
    — Matthew 28:18 (KJV)
    His name represents His person, His authority, His victory, His lordship and His kingdom.
    We must never reduce the name of Jesus to something we merely shout when we are in trouble. His name belongs to the Savior to whom we surrender our lives.
    DO YOU KNOW THE JESUS YOU CALL ON?
    Jesus is more than a name mentioned at the end of a prayer.
    He is the Son of God.
    “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
    — Matthew 16:16 (KJV)
    He is the Savior.
    “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
    — Luke 19:10 (KJV)
    He is the Way to the Father.
    “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
    — John 14:6 (KJV)
    He is the Resurrection and the Life.
    “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
    — John 11:25 (KJV)
    He is Lord.
    “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
    — Philippians 2:11 (KJV)
    The question is not merely, “Have you heard about Him?”
    The question is:
    Have you trusted Him?
    Have you surrendered to Him?
    Are you following Him?
    Are you walking with Him?
    Does your life belong to Him?
    YOU CANNOT BORROW SOMEBODY ELSE'S ANOINTING
    The sons of Sceva tried to imitate what they saw Paul doing.
    But spiritual authority cannot be copied like a technique.
    You can imitate someone's preaching style.
    You can imitate someone's prayer language.
    You can imitate someone's worship.
    You can repeat someone's favorite Scriptures.
    But you cannot imitate their relationship with God.
    Jesus said:
    “Abide in me, and I in you… for without me ye can do nothing.”
    — John 15:4–5 (KJV)
    Our strength comes from abiding in Christ.
    The greatest danger is not weakness that drives us toward Jesus. The greater danger is trying to operate spiritually while disconnected from Him.
    The seven sons discovered this painfully.
    The possessed man “overcame them, and prevailed against them.”
    They entered believing they had authority they did not possess and left “naked and wounded.”
    There is a warning here:
    Never attempt to substitute religious activity for genuine relationship with Christ.
    YOUR PRIVATE WALK MATTERS
    Before Paul stood publicly in authority, he had privately surrendered his life to Jesus.
    Our public Christianity must be supported by a private relationship with God.
    Who are you when there is no microphone?
    Who are you when there is no congregation?
    Who are you when nobody sees you praying?
    Who are you when temptation comes?
    Who are you when life becomes difficult?
    Do you still trust Jesus when there is nobody around to applaud your faith?
    Jesus said:
    “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed.”
    — John 8:31 (KJV)
    Real discipleship is demonstrated through continued fellowship, obedience, faith and dependence upon Christ.
    KNOW HIM BEFORE THE BATTLE COMES
    Don't wait until trouble arrives to try to discover who Jesus is.
    Know Him now.
    Know Him in prayer.
    Know Him through His Word.
    Know Him in worship.
    Know Him through obedience.
    Know Him when everything is going well so that when everything begins falling apart, you already know where your help comes from.
    David could face Goliath because David already knew God before Goliath appeared.
    Daniel could face the lions because Daniel knew God before he entered the den.
    The three Hebrew boys could face the fiery furnace because they knew God before Nebuchadnezzar heated it.
    Paul could endure persecution because he knew the Christ for whom he suffered.
    And when your day of testing comes, you need more than something somebody told you about Jesus.
    You need to be able to declare:
    I KNOW HIM FOR MYSELF!
    Job said:
    “For I know that my redeemer liveth…”
    — Job 19:25 (KJV)
    There are some storms where somebody else's testimony will not be enough.
    You need your own history with God.
    You need memories of prayers He answered.
    You need moments when His Word carried you.
    You need times when you experienced His grace.
    You need the confidence to declare:
    I know who Jesus is because I have walked with Him for myself!
    THE QUESTION STILL STANDS
    Acts 19 leaves us with a question that should cause every believer to examine his or her heart:
    DO YOU KNOW WHO JESUS IS?
    Not just the Jesus your pastor preaches.
    Not just the Jesus your parents taught you about.
    Not just the Jesus you heard about in Sunday School.
    But Jesus Christ for yourself.
    And perhaps an even deeper question is:
    DOES YOUR LIFE SHOW THAT YOU KNOW HIM?
    Jesus said:
    “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
    — John 10:27 (KJV)
    Knowing Jesus should produce following Jesus.
    Following Jesus should produce obedience.
    Obedience should produce transformation.
    And transformation should cause our lives to testify that we have been with Jesus.
    PRAYER...
    Father, in the name of Jesus,
    Thank You for revealing Your Son to us. Lord, forgive us for every time we have been satisfied with simply knowing about Jesus instead of developing a deeper relationship with Him.
    We don't want secondhand faith. We don't want borrowed convictions. We don't want to depend solely upon somebody else's prayers, testimony or relationship with You.
    Lord Jesus, we want to know You for ourselves.
    Draw us closer to You. Give us a hunger for Your Word, a desire for prayer, a heart of worship and a spirit willing to obey Your voice.
    Search our hearts and remove everything that has created distance between us and You.
    Teach us not merely to speak Your name but to honor Your name with the way we live.
    When temptation comes, remind us who You are.
    When storms arise, remind us who You are.
    When fear attacks, remind us who You are.
    When the enemy challenges our faith, help us stand firmly upon the authority of Your Word.
    May our lives testify that we belong to Jesus Christ.
    And Lord, let our greatest desire always be the cry of Paul:
    “That I may know him.”
    We want to know You more deeply, love You more completely, trust You more confidently, obey You more faithfully, and represent You more boldly.
    In the mighty, matchless, powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
    Amen.
    DECLARATION...
    I DECLARE that I will not live on borrowed faith!
    I know who Jesus is!
    Jesus is my Savior.
    Jesus is my Redeemer.
    Jesus is my Lord.
    Jesus is my Deliverer.
    Jesus is my Rock.
    Jesus is my Strength.
    Jesus is my Hope.
    Jesus is my King!
    I will seek Him, follow Him, obey Him and grow deeper in my relationship with Him.
    I refuse to merely know about Jesus.
    I WILL KNOW HIM FOR MYSELF!
    And when life asks me, “Do you know who Jesus is?”
    My faith, my testimony, my obedience and my life will answer:
    YES! I KNOW HIM FOR MYSELF!
    “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection…” — Philippians 3:10 (KJV)
    Life can become overwhelming. There are burdens we carry because of responsibilities, expectations, disappointments, unanswered prayers, family concerns, ministry demands, work, studies, and the uncertainties of tomorrow.
    Jesus does not tell the weary to struggle harder. He gives a gracious invitation:
    “Come unto me.”
    Christ does not promise that we will never face difficulties. Instead, He promises that when we bring our burdens to Him, He will give us rest.
    The rest Jesus gives is deeper than physical relaxation. It is the rest of a heart that knows it is no longer carrying everything alone. It is peace in the midst of pressure, confidence in the midst of uncertainty, and strength to continue when we feel weak.
    Today, whatever burden you are carrying, bring it to Jesus. Do not carry what Christ is asking you to surrender.
    Your burden may be heavy, but His grace is sufficient.
    *Prophetic Declaration:*
    Today, I declare that I come to Jesus Christ with every burden, concern, fear, and uncertainty in my life. I refuse to carry alone what I can surrender to my Savior.
    I declare that the rest of Christ is entering every troubled area of my life. His peace shall replace anxiety, His strength shall replace weakness, and His hope shall replace discouragement.
    I proclaim that every burden weighing heavily upon my heart shall be surrendered to the Lord. I release the burdens of fear, disappointment, uncertainty, financial pressure, family concerns, ministry responsibilities, work, business, studies, and the future into God's capable hands.
    Today, I receive divine strength to continue the journey. Where I have become weary, the Lord shall renew me. Where I have become discouraged, He shall restore my joy. Where I have become confused, He shall give me direction.
    I declare peace over my family and household. May every unnecessary tension, anxiety, misunderstanding, and heaviness give way to the peace of Christ.
    I declare grace over my ministry and service to God. I shall not serve from exhaustion or seek to carry God's work in my own strength. I receive fresh grace, wisdom, strength, and spiritual renewal.
    I proclaim divine rest over my work, business, and studies. The Lord shall give me wisdom to manage my responsibilities, strength to complete my assignments, and favor to accomplish what He has placed in my hands.
    I declare that I shall not be controlled by tomorrow's uncertainties. God holds my future, and I choose to trust Him one day at a time.
    Today, I reject the lie that I must solve everything by myself. I acknowledge my dependence on God and receive His grace for every challenge before me.
    I declare that the Lord shall restore my emotional, spiritual, and physical strength according to His will. He shall lead me beside still waters and restore my soul.
    I proclaim that my home shall be a place of peace, my heart shall be a dwelling place of God's presence, and my life shall reflect the calm confidence of someone who trusts in Christ.
    I come to Jesus.
    I surrender my burdens.
    I receive His rest.
    I receive His strength.
    I receive His peace.
    I will not be overwhelmed, because Christ is with me.
    Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
    *Action Steps for today:*
    Begin with Jesus: Before you begin carrying today's responsibilities, spend time in prayer and surrender your burdens to Christ.
    Read Matthew 11:28–30: Meditate on Jesus' invitation to the weary and His promise of rest.
    Declare: “I come to Jesus, I surrender my burdens, and I receive His rest and peace.”
    Make a burden list: Write down the things troubling your heart and consciously hand each one over to God in prayer.
    Stop carrying what belongs to God: Do your part faithfully, but leave the outcome in God's hands.
    Rest in God's presence: Set aside quiet time today for prayer, worship (attend church service), Scripture reading, and reflection.
    Encourage someone who is weary: Share Matthew 11:28 with someone who needs to be reminded that Jesus cares about their burdens.
    End the day with thanksgiving: Thank Jesus for carrying you through the day and for every evidence of His grace.
    *Sunday Prayer:*
    Lord Jesus,
    Thank You for Your gracious invitation: “Come unto me.”
    Today, I come to You with everything that is weighing upon my heart. I bring my fears, worries, responsibilities, disappointments, unanswered questions, and every burden I cannot carry by myself.
    Lord, give me Your rest.
    Quiet every storm within me. Replace anxiety with peace, confusion with clarity, fear with faith, and weakness with strength.
    I surrender my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, finances, plans, and future into Your hands. Teach me to do what I can faithfully and trust You with what is beyond my control.
    Restore my soul. Renew my strength. Refresh my spirit. Give me wisdom for every responsibility and grace for every challenge.
    Help me not to run away from You when I am tired, but to run toward You.
    Let Your presence fill my home. Let Your peace rule in my heart. Let Your grace sustain me throughout this new week.
    Jesus, I come to You.
    Jesus, I trust You.
    Jesus, I surrender to You.
    Jesus, I receive Your rest.
    In Your mighty name I pray. Amen.
    *Sunday Blessing:*
    May the Lord Jesus give you rest from every burden that has been weighing upon your heart.
    May His peace fill your home and household. May His strength sustain you in your ministry, work, business, studies, and every responsibility entrusted to you.
    May God give you wisdom to know what to carry and what to surrender. May He renew your strength when you are weary and restore your joy when you are discouraged.
    May every storm around you become an opportunity to experience the peace of Christ within you.
    As you enter the coming week, may you go forward not in your own strength, but in the strength of the Lord.
    Come to Jesus.
    Surrender your burdens.
    Receive His rest.
    Walk in His strength.
    Abide in His peace.
