Behold, I am with you all the days, until the completion of the age. Matthew 28:20 ᴊɴᴅ As we earnestly look to the blessed coming of our Lord Jesus to take His own to Himself, we do feel and know that “while present in the body we are absent from the Lord, (for we walk by faith, not by sight)” (2 Cor. 5:6–7). Yet, our blessed Lord told us, “I am with you all the days, until the completion of the age” (Mt. 28:20). If our eyes cannot see Him just yet, is our spiritual vision adjusted properly to see His presence with us? It is worthy of our attention to see in various passages that Jesus is “in the midst.” For example, we see Him in the midst of the two or three gathering to His name (Mt. 18:20), in the midst of the thieves at Golgotha (Lk. 23:32–33), in the midst of His own after His resurrection (Jn. 20:19, 26), in the midst of the seven candlesticks which represent the assemblies (Rev. 1:13, 20), and He walks in their midst (Rev. 2:1). He alone is worthy to have this prominent place. When we consider the eternal purpose of God and what will happen when this present creation’s history will be over, we also learn something interesting: “When all things shall have been brought into subjection to Him, then the Son also Himself shall be placed in subjection to Him who put all things in subjection to Him, that God may be all in all” (1 Cor. 15:28). In the eternal state, in the new heavens and new earth, God will be all in all—He will be everything for all that will be there. It is hard to find words to describe this amazing greatness and purpose. But already seeing Christ in the midst and knowing that God will be all in all in the age of ages, what an encouragement we have to already make a reality in our lives that Christ be in the midst of everything! He is the answer to all our questions and needs, and He is absolutely sufficient for everything. If we have Him, what else are we missing? August 22 - Jesus’ Availability to Jairus #LifeOfChrist “Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples” (Matthew 9:19). Jesus was always willing to go out of His way to serve others in the Father’s name. This trait was certainly evident as Christ reached out to Jairus with accessibility and availability. There were certainly many other needy people in the region near Jairus, but the urgency of the synagogue leader’s circumstances demanded that Jesus go to Jairus’s home. From a distance the Lord could have sent the power to raise the man’s daughter from the dead. He chose, however, to manifest selfless love and compassion by following the grieving Jairus to his home. God is sensitive not only to the needs of the many but to the cry of individuals in need. The Holy Spirit’s work through Philip in Acts 8 illustrates this principle. In the midst of a highly profitable ministry in Samaria, an angel dispatched the evangelist to Gaza (v. 26). Right away Philip met the Ethiopian eunuch, the royal official who served the queen of Ethiopia. When the Holy Spirit prompted Philip to approach the man, the evangelist found an eager seeker about the things of God and was able to lead him to saving faith in Christ (vv. 35–37). God sometimes leads us, as He often led His own Son and the early disciples, to temporarily set aside a larger ministry to focus on the need of one person—and He wants us to be available. After all, Jesus did promise that every single individual who genuinely “comes to Me I will certainly not cast out” (John 6:37). Ask Yourself Who comes to mind when you think of someone God has called you to influence at this point in time? Avoid the temptation to withhold yourself from others, not wanting to get involved in the messiness of their needs and problems, when Jesus has called you to compassion.

Queenship of Mary The Feast of the Queenship of Mary is a celebration in the Catholic Church that honors Mary, the mother of Jesus, as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. This feast was officially established by Pope Pius XII on October 11, 1954, through an important Church document called an encyclical titled Ad Caeli Reginam ("To the Queen of Heaven"). The idea of Mary being a queen goes back much further in Christian tradition, but this feast made it an official part of Catholic practice. Title "Theotokos" – Mother of God One of the key teachings about Mary is that she is called the "Theotokos," a Greek word meaning "God-bearer" or "the one who gives birth to God." Catholics believe that as a loving mother, Mary prays for and cares for all people, guiding them toward her Son, Jesus. In the Book of Revelation (12:1), Mary is described in a vision as "a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head." This image is seen as a symbolic representation of Mary as Queen of Heaven. The crown of twelve stars is often understood to represent the twelve tribes of Israel, showing her connection to the people of God. Mary's Role in Salvation Mary’s role in salvation is deeply tied to her being chosen to be the mother of Jesus. When God sent His only Son into the world, He chose Mary to be the vessel through which Jesus would be born. This makes her central to God’s plan for the salvation of humanity. She accepted God’s will with humility and faith, saying "yes" to becoming the mother of Jesus (known as the Annunciation), which Catholics believe played a crucial role in bringing about the salvation of the world. The Immaculate Conception Another important belief about Mary is the Immaculate Conception. This teaching says that Mary was conceived in her mother’s womb (Saint Anne) without original sin. Original sin is believed to be the state of sin that all humans are born into due to the fall of Adam and Eve. However, because Mary was chosen to be the mother of Jesus, God gave her a special grace to be free from original sin from the moment of her conception. Lifeline Today Saturday August 22 Loving the Word of God Oh, how I love Your law! it is my meditation all the day. Psalm 119:97 (NKJV) Four steps to loving the Word start with trusting the God of the Word. If you don’t really regard God as fully and entirely trustworthy, you will not love hearing Him speak to you. The second step is studying the Word. If God’s Word really is true, then you ought to commit yourself to be a diligent student of the Word through reading, memorizing, meditating, and embracing it with your mind as well as your hearts. The third step is using or applying the Word. It is one thing to believe and know the Word, it is another thing to rely on it for direction, counsel, strength, light in the darkness, victory, and comfort in affliction. The Bible is a living book. It is the ‘place’ where the God of the universe meets with us and manifests Himself to us. The fourth step is obeying the Word. The Word is commandment to obey, promise to claim and truth to believe. Anyone who claims he loves God but despises His Word is living a life of contradiction. This is your day. Wisdom Fountain: “The Word of God shapes our steps and feeds our hearts like sweet honey.” Prayer: Heavenly Father, create in me a deep and lasting hunger for Your Holy Word. Soften my heart, remove distractions, and give me a true passion to read, cherish, and live out Your truth every single day in Jesus’ name.
