The Advent Truth. There is a difference between struggling with sin and settling into sin. A struggle means there is a WAR. You fall, you hate that you fell, you confess it, you get back up, and by the grace of Christ you keep fighting. “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again” (Proverbs 24:16). But we need to stop calling deliberate, planned, cherished disobedience a “struggle” simply because the word makes us feel better about it. Jesus did not die merely to forgive us while leaving us enslaved to the very sins that nailed Him to the cross. The angel said, “Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Grace does not make sin safe. Paul asked the question plainly: “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid” (Romans 6:1-2). Biblical repentance is more than feeling guilty afterward. It is a change of mind that produces a change of direction. Yes, Christians can stumble. Yes, Christians can have deeply rooted sins that take earnest warfare, prayer, discipline, and dependence upon Christ to overcome. But there is an enormous difference between falling in battle and making peace with the enemy. God knows the difference. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). And here is the good news: you do not have to remain a slave. Jesus says, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Don't lower God's standard because you've fallen short of it. Run to Christ. Confess it. Forsake it. Get back up. Surrender again. We don't need a gospel that teaches us how to become comfortable in bondage. We need the Gospel that sets captives free.

Kind of like ‘God in a box.’ But when it comes to Christ, no box works. His contemporaries designed an assortment of boxes for Him, but He didn’t fit in any of their boxes. They called Him a revolutionary, but He paid taxes. They labelled Him a country carpenter, but He confounded scholars. They came to see His miracles, but He refused to entertain them. He was a Jew who attracted Gentiles, a rabbi who gave up on synagogues, a holy man who hung around with prostitutes. In a male-dominated society, He recruited females. In an anti-Roman culture, He opted not to denounce Rome. He talked like a king yet lived like a pilgrim. People tried to put Him in a ‘box,’ but they couldn’t. And we can’t either; indeed we must not! ‘…Skilled living gets its start in the Fear-of-God, insight into life from knowing a Holy God…’ (Proverbs 9:7-12TM). Most of our fears are unhealthy. They rob us of peace and joy. But the fear of the Lord does the opposite. One author writes: ‘There is nothing neurotic about fearing God. The neurotic thing is not to be afraid, or to be afraid of the wrong thing. That is why God chooses to be known to us, so that we may stop being afraid of the wrong thing. Sherkat,  "are constellations of beliefs, practices and institutions used to describe a common type of religiosity. Religious traditions are broad understandings of the supernatural produced in societies and practiced by groups and individuals". For the sake of continuity, religious traditions are codified in texts considered sacred by individuals and institutions that adhere to and produce that form of religion. Once a conviction is formed on religious traditions, it is very difficult for adherents to give them up for another revelation even when common sense says it is wrong. It has a blinding effect especially, when it is wrong. For example, in the Christian faith, you can see some traditions that worship idols, but never see anything wrong with it, but only explain away such idol worship as traditions handed over by the "elders". Some of the Jews had that problem in the Early Church. The legalistic traditions of the law of Moses was so much built into their conviction that giving it up totally for the gospel was a problem to them. All explanations by enlightened and anointed Christ appointed Apostles fell into deaf ears. At best they were willing to believe the gospel subject to the legalistic tradition. They saw their legalistic traditions as more superior to the gospel and they were willing to continue in it in addition to the gospel. The Galatians believers were almost relapsing into the law of Moses and Paul the apostle had to set out the danger of exalting or mixing any religious traditions with or above the pure gospel. *1. The Past Graceless Life* a. There is always a clear inward and outward distinction between life before Christ and life after Christ. A reminder of this transformative experience in Christ is always needful so as not to lose faith. Paul the apostle reminded them that when they knew not God, they *"did service unto them which by nature are no gods"*. If you cannot see this transformational and supernatural distinction in your life, it is likely you are just practicing religion and have not experienced the new life in Christ. Before knowing Christ, the Galatians were enslaved to false gods and powerless spiritual systems. Apostle Paul reminded them that ignorance of the true God results in bondage. A life without Christ is a graceless life because no amount of religion can save the soul apart from the redeeming grace of Jesus. We too must never forget the pit from which God's mercy brought us out from, lest we become proud or drift into lifeless religion. b. The transforming gospel of Jesus Christ delivers sinners not only from the bondage of sin, but also from the bondage of empty religious traditions. The Galatian believers had received salvation by grace through faith, yet they were being tempted to return to legalistic practices as though human observances could perfect what Christ had accomplished. Paul the apostle lovingly warned them that abandoning the simplicity of the gospel for religious rituals is a dangerous spiritual relapse. Every believer must continually stand in the liberty of Christ and resist every tradition that replaces grace with legalism. There are also religious and denominational traditions that make the gospel of Christ of no effect in the life of a person. Inasmuch as you glue to those traditions that contradict the gospel message, the new life in Christ will continue to elude you. When the pure gospel is made to cohabit with denominational or religious traditions that do not put Christ in its rightful place, the gospel will lose its transforming power. *Question* What are some of the religious or denominational traditions that make salvation experience impossible in the life of a religious person? Have you remembered that it was God's grace, not religious performance, that brought you into salvation? *2. The Pure Gospel Lost* a. Apostle Paul expresses deep concern that those who had known God were turning again to weak and beggarly religious observances. Why call those traditions as religious and beggarly elements? They are weak because those Mosaic rules and rituals have zero power to save, justify or change a human heart. They are beggarly because they are "poverty-stricken" or bankrupt and offer no spiritual riches compared to Christ. They are called elements because they are merely elementary things given in the law of Moses to reveal the necessity of Christ without really maturing in Christ. b. They began emphasizing special days, months, seasons and years as though these could secure righteousness before God. The danger was not in observing days itself, but in trusting such practices as a means of acceptance with God. Whenever Christ is replaced by rituals, the purity of the gospel is compromised and spiritual growth is hindered. *Question* Is your confidence resting in Christ alone or in religious activities that cannot transform the heart? *3. The Persuasion to Part with Legalism* a. With tenderness, Paul the apostle pleads, *“Be as I am,”* calling the Galatians back to the freedom of grace. Apostle Paul was entrenched in *"the traditions of the elders"* which he even claimed to be more fanatical than all his equals. When he received Christ, he received Him solely and totally without adding the rudiments of the law of Moses or legalistic traditions. He parted ways with those things totally. He admonished them to do the same because it is in doing that, that they can enjoy the life of Christ to the fullest. Rather than condemning them harshly, he appeals through love and reminds them of the sacrificial relationship they once shared during his ministry among them. *"I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain"*. When you got saved by faith in Christ alone and you begin to attach some things as additions that will make salvation complete, your faith has shifted from Christ and you lose your salvation and the presence of Christ within. True spiritual leadership persuades people away from legalism and continually points them back to Christ. Glib-tongued Judaizers invaded the Galatian Church and swayed the nascent assembly off the pure New Testament faith Paul had laboured to teach and impart.* *Would Paul be cowed down, cave in or contend with the detractors of faith? It hurt him to see these Gentile Christians drawn into the spider-web of Judaizing Christians once again. Paul, after the manner of a passionate pastor, pleads with the Galatians in this letter not to return to their former spiritual slavery but rather break away from every Pharisaic bondage and enjoy the liberty Christ gave them freely. In spite of the challenge, Jochebed was willing to risk everything for her child's safety. She hid him for the first three months and trusted God in the face of danger and uncertainty. She took another bold step of faith by placing him in a basket by the bank of River Nile. By divine arrangement, Moses was found and adopted by Pharaoh's daughter. He still ended up with his mother who taught him the values of faith, courage, selflessness, humility and resilience, thereby preparing him for his role as a future leader. *Jochebed knew her God, and because she did not give up too soon, God rewarded her courage with a son who did exploits for God. You too must be courageous to stand for the word of God, no matter the challenge. Newton never forgot how God mercifully spared his life, saved his soul and delivered him from wasteful living and a blasphemous lifestyle. He lived the rest of his life juxtaposing what he had previously been with the transformation God had wrought in him. To keep this memory alive, he wrote out the fifteenth verse of the fifteenth chapter of Deuteronomy in bold letters and fastened it to the wall of his study.* *Had the Galatians exercised Newton's wisdom and spiritual intelligence, a thrilling testimony would have trailed their Christian walk. They had spent their lives, plumbing the depths of human sin and degradation of idolatry, before Paul reached them with the gospel. They responded positively to the gospel, became truly converted and free from an idolatrous lifestyle. Of them, Paul said they "received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus". But their experiences became short-lived. Glib-tongued Judaizers invaded the Galatian Church and swayed the nascent assembly off the pure New Testament faith Paul had laboured to teach and impart.* *Would Paul be cowed down, cave in or contend with the detractors of faith? It hurt him to see these Gentile Christians drawn into the spider-web of Judaizing Christians once again. Paul, after the manner of a passionate pastor, pleads with the Galatians in this letter not to return to their former spiritual slavery but rather break away from every Pharisaic bondage and enjoy the liberty Christ gave them freely. He wants them to understand their new identity - saints saved by grace, void of any allegiance to a race, culture or tradition.* *These are instructive scriptures for both shepherds and the flock in the fold. While shepherds and leaders of God's people diligently labour and watch over the flock, fencing out all modern Judaizers, every believer has the responsibility to resist the subtle penetration of the enemies of the cross and make an intelligent choice between Judaizers and the Justifier. In spite of the challenge, Jochebed was willing to risk everything for her child's safety. She hid him for the first three months and trusted God in the face of danger and uncertainty. She took another bold step of faith by placing him in a basket by the bank of River Nile. By divine arrangement, Moses was found and adopted by Pharaoh's daughter. He still ended up with his mother who taught him the values of faith, courage, selflessness, humility and resilience, thereby preparing him for his role as a future leader. *Jochebed knew her God, and because she did not give up too soon, God rewarded her courage with a son who did exploits for God. You too must be courageous to stand for the word of God, no matter the challenge. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: THE REAL REASON BARABBAS WAS SET FREE AND NOT JESUS. Main Text: Matthew 27:15–26; Mark 15:6–15; Luke 23:13–25; John 18:38–40 There are moments in Scripture that make us stop and ask, “How could this happen?” Jesus was innocent. Barabbas was guilty. Jesus healed the sick. Barabbas was a criminal. Jesus preached love, forgiveness, and the Kingdom of God. Barabbas was associated with rebellion and violence. Yet the crowd shouted: “Release Barabbas!” And concerning Jesus: “Crucify Him!” It looks like injustice won. But here is the deeper truth: Barabbas was not simply released because Jesus lost the argument. Barabbas was released because Jesus was going to take his place. The story of Barabbas is actually a picture of the Gospel. Barabbas represents the guilty sinner. Jesus represents the innocent Savior. Barabbas walked away free because Jesus walked toward the cross. And that is the mystery of grace: The guilty goes free because the innocent One takes his place. 1. BARABBAS WAS GUILTY, BUT JESUS WAS INNOCENT Pilate examined Jesus and repeatedly found no sufficient reason to condemn Him. Luke 23:22 says: «“I have found no reason for death in Him.”» Jesus was innocent. But Barabbas had committed serious crimes. Mark 15:7 tells us that Barabbas had been involved in rebellion and murder. So, humanly speaking, the choice should have been obvious. But the crowd chose Barabbas. Why? Because the cross was not an accident. Jesus had already declared that He came to give His life for others. Mark 10:45 says: «“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”» Jesus knew why He came. He came to become the substitute. Spiritual Insight Sometimes we ask, “Why did Jesus have to die?” The answer is partly found in Barabbas. Someone had to bear the consequence of sin. And Jesus willingly took that place. 2. BARABBAS RECEIVED WHAT JESUS DESERVED This is the shocking part of the story. Barabbas deserved punishment. Jesus deserved no punishment. Yet Barabbas walked out of prison. Jesus walked toward Golgotha. Barabbas went free. Jesus was condemned. Barabbas was released. Jesus was crucified. This is substitution. The guilty person goes free because the innocent person takes his place. Isaiah 53:5 declares: «“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.”» Notice the language: Our transgressions. Our iniquities. Our punishment. The cross was personal. Jesus was not dying because He had sinned. He was dying because we had sinned. Think About This Barabbas probably did not understand everything that was happening. He may have walked out of that prison wondering how he escaped death. But we know something he may not have understood: Another Man died in his place. And spiritually, that is our story. We were guilty. Christ took our place. 3. THE RELEASE OF BARABBAS REVEALS THE DEPTH OF GOD'S GRACE Grace is not God pretending that sin does not matter. Grace is God dealing with sin through the sacrifice of Christ. Romans 5:8 says: «“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”» That means Jesus did not wait for us to become perfect before He loved us. He loved us while we were still sinners. Barabbas did not earn his freedom. He did not negotiate his release. He did not pay the governor. He simply received an unexpected release. That is grace. Grace is receiving what you could never earn because someone else paid the price. You cannot boast about salvation. You cannot say, “I saved myself.” No. Jesus saved you. 4. THE CROWD CHOSE BARABBAS, BUT GOD WAS WORKING THROUGH THE CROSS The crowd thought they were making the final decision. But heaven had already established a redemptive purpose. Acts 2:23 says that Jesus was delivered according to the “determined purpose and foreknowledge of God.” This does not mean the people were innocent. Their choices were still sinful. But God was able to accomplish His redemptive plan through what sinful people intended for evil. This is one of the mysteries of God's sovereignty. People thought: “We are getting rid of Jesus.” God was accomplishing: “I am providing salvation for humanity.” The cross looked like defeat. But it became victory. The grave looked like the end. But resurrection was coming. Never Judge God's Work Too Early There may be seasons in your life when everything looks like it is going in the wrong direction. But remember Calvary. Friday looked like defeat. Sunday revealed the victory. Do not conclude the story while God is still writing it. 5. BARABBAS IS A PICTURE OF EVERY SINNER WHO RECEIVES SALVATION We often read the story and say: “Why did they release Barabbas?” But there is another question: “What if I were Barabbas?” What if you were the one sitting in that prison? What if you knew punishment was coming? What if you knew you were guilty? Then suddenly, the story becomes personal. Barabbas walked out because Jesus took his place. And every person who comes to Christ in genuine faith can say: “I deserved judgment, but Christ took my place.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 says: «“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”» That is the Gospel. Jesus took our place so that we could receive His righteousness. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: THE CROSS Look at the sequence. Barabbas: Guilty. Jesus: Innocent. Barabbas: Imprisoned. Jesus: Free. Barabbas: Released. Jesus: Condemned. Barabbas: Walked away. Jesus: Walked toward the cross. Barabbas: Lived because another died. Believers: Receive eternal life because Christ died and rose again. The cross is therefore more than a religious symbol. It is the place where justice and mercy met. Justice says sin must be dealt with. Mercy says sinners can be saved. At the cross, Jesus bore the judgment so that mercy could reach us. PRACTICAL LESSONS FOR CHRISTIANS. 1. Never take salvation for granted. You were not saved because you were better than someone else. You were saved by grace. Therefore, remain humble. 2. Stop trying to earn God's love You cannot work your way into salvation. Serve God because you love Him, not because you are trying to purchase His acceptance. 3. Forgive others If Christ has forgiven you, you must learn to extend forgiveness to others. 4. Live like someone who has been set free Barabbas walked out of prison. The believer has also been delivered from the dominion of sin. Do not keep living like a prisoner when Christ has made you free. 5. Tell someone about Jesus Your testimony may be simple: “I was guilty, but Jesus took my place.” That is powerful enough. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. Have I truly understood what Jesus accomplished for me on the cross? 2. Am I trying to earn God's acceptance instead of receiving His grace? 3. Do I live like someone who has been set free? 4. Have I truly repented of my sins? 5. Who can I tell about the saving grace of Jesus Christ? 6. Do I extend to others the same mercy I have received from Christ? POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Prayer of Thanksgiving Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to take my place. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. I will never take my salvation for granted. In Jesus' name, Amen. 2. Prayer of Repentance Lord Jesus, forgive me for every sin, disobedience, pride, and rebellion in my life. Cleanse me and help me walk faithfully with You. Amen. 3. Prayer for Freedom Every chain of sin, addiction, fear, and spiritual bondage in my life, break in the name of Jesus. I declare that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Amen. 4. Prayer for Grace Father, help me to understand the depth of Your grace and to live every day with gratitude for what Christ has done for me. Amen. 5. Prayer for Others Lord, use my life to bring other Barabbases to Jesus—people who feel condemned, rejected, broken, and far from You. Let my testimony point them to the cross. Amen. DEEP SPIRITUAL TRUTH Here is the heart of the message: Barabbas was released, not because he was innocent, but because another took his place. And that is the Gospel. We are not saved because we are perfect. We are saved because Jesus is perfect. We are not accepted because we deserve it. We are accepted because Christ paid the price. We are not standing before God because of our righteousness. We stand because of His righteousness. The cross says: “Your sin is serious, but God's grace is greater.” CALL TO ACTION Today, do not simply admire the story of Barabbas. See yourself in it. You were guilty. Christ took your place. You were condemned. Christ bore the condemnation. You were far from God. Christ opened the way back to the Father. The question is not merely: “Why was Barabbas released?” The deeper question is: “What will I do with the Jesus who took my place?” Will you continue living for yourself? Or will you surrender your life completely to Him? Will you keep returning to the prison of sin? Or will you walk in the freedom Christ purchased for you? Jesus took your place. Now give Him your life. «“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36» You are not free because you were innocent. You are free because Jesus became your substitute. POLICE WERE SENT FOR SMITH WIGGLESWORTH. When I was in Switzerland the Lord was graciously working and healing many of the people. I was staying with Brother Reuss of Goldiwil and two policemen were sent to arrest me. The charge was that I was healing the people without a license. Mr. Reuss said to them, "I am sorry that he is not here just now. He is holding a meeting about two miles away, but before you arrest him let me show you something." Brother Reuss took these two policemen down to one of the lower parts of that district, to a house with which they were familiar, for they had often gone to that place to arrest a certain woman, who was repeatedly put in prison because of continually being engaged in drunken brawls. He took them to this woman and said to them, "This is one of the many cases of blessing that have come through the ministry of the man you have come to arrest. This woman came to our meeting in a drunken condition. Her body was broken, for she was ruptured in two places. While she was drunk, the evangelist laid his hands on her and asked God to heal her and deliver her." The woman joined in, "Yes, and God saved me, and I have not tasted a drop of liquor since." The policemen had a warrant for my arrest, but they said with disgust, "Let the doctors do this kind of thing." They turned and went away and that was the last we heard of them. We have a Jesus that heals the broken-hearted, who lets the captives go free, who saves the very worst. Dare you, dare _you, spurn this glorious Gospel of God for spirit, soul and body? Dare you spurn this grace? I realize that this full Gospel has in great measure been hid, this Gospel that brings liberty, this Gospel that brings souls out of bondage, this Gospel that brings perfect health to the body, this Gospel of entire salvation. We will also have a heavenly palace where the living God is. There are many people, including Christians, who tremble in fear of the King, the living God, they fear to stand before His throne. They are afraid of what God will do to them. Will He be angry because of the sins they have committed? This is how they think, because they believe that God is an angry and stern God. Do not be afraid for God Today I want to tell you that God is a God of love and grace. He does not want anyone to perish. He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. You do not have to be afraid if you know that you are a child of God. When the time comes and the Lord calls you to come to His palace, do not be afraid to let go of the earth and courageously enter your King's palace. When Mephibosheth entered the palace, he fell before king David's feet and exclaimed: 'What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?' We will also have a heavenly palace where the living God is. There are many people, including Christians, who tremble in fear of the King, the living God, they fear to stand before His throne. They are afraid of what God will do to them. Will He be angry because of the sins they have committed? This is how they think, because they believe that God is an angry and stern God. Do not be afraid for God Today I want to tell you that God is a God of love and grace. He does not want anyone to perish. He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. You do not have to be afraid if you know that you are a child of God. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Devotional message: Yesterday, we saw that true rest is found when we come to Jesus. Today, we go a step further: Jesus does not only invite us to come to Him for rest; He calls us to take His yoke upon us.What does it mean to take the yoke of Christ? A yoke was a wooden bar used to join animals together so that they could work and move in the same direction. Once yoked together, the animals could not simply choose their own direction independently. They had to move together under the direction of the one leading the work. Spiritually, taking the yoke of Christ speaks of surrender, submission, discipleship, and learning to walk according to His will.When you come to Jesus, you receive rest. But when you take His yoke, you surrender the right to make yourself the ultimate authority over your life.You begin to say:“Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.”This is exactly what Jesus demonstrated in His earthly life. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed:Luke 22:42 (NKJV)“Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” The Christian life is therefore not simply about receiving Jesus as Saviour while continuing to govern our lives according to our own desires. The world also offers many “yokes.” The pursuit of wealth, recognition, pleasure, human approval, ambition, and worldly success can become burdens that people carry throughout their lives. Jesus offers another way.He says:“My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”This does not mean following Christ will never involve sacrifice, discipline, persecution, or difficult decisions. Jesus Himself told His disciples to take up their cross and follow Him.Rather, His yoke is “easy” because we are no longer carrying the burden of trying to be our own saviour, determining our own ultimate purpose, or living separated from the One who created us. There is a profound rest that comes from knowing:“I belong to Him. My life is in His hands. How to Persevere in Prayer How do you persevere in prayer? You have to make an effort, because it is not easy. It is easy to start; the difficult part is finishing, because of the opposition that arises along the way. The enemy will always oppose men and women of prayer. This opposition can happen in many ways: through pain in the body, through situations around us, and even through people close to us. People will be attacked, you will be saddened, troubled, distressed, humiliated, and persecuted. So, do not forget: many of these struggles are part of the journey of a life of prayer. And this should serve as encouragement to warriors. You must keep going! But how do you persevere? Do what Paul taught: “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.” Many people want to pray while living according to the flesh, and because of this, the journey seems impossible. But when we are in the Spirit, when we walk and live in the Spirit, we receive life and have life to give. We must make an effort and not be ignorant of Satan’s schemes. Yet, hallelujah, we must remain patient in tribulations. This is how we will continue. If you do not renounce your own life and your own will, and if you do not enter this war determined to fight the good fight, you will give up. The burden will become too great, because sin brings bondage and weakness. Therefore, it is necessary to renounce sin. The Word says: “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.” And so you will continue fighting, abstaining from everything that weakens your walk and making every effort to remain steadfast. Understand this: the struggles, adversities, and opposition you encounter are part of the journey of those who are true warriors. But you have the armor of God in your hands! So I challenge you: move forward against them! Glory to God! Go into battle as David went against Goliath. Do not allow yourself to be intimidated by the Goliaths of life, nor by the Sauls who may cross your path. You need to have the same attitude as Caleb when he returned from spying out the land together with Joshua and the other men. Caleb said, in other words: “They will be our bread. Let us only be strong, and the Lord will deliver them into our hands.” Hallelujah! This is the secret to perseverance. If I do not tell you the truth, you may become frustrated. The battles will come because of your prayer life. The counterattacks will come, and they may be very intense, because the devil does not want anyone to persevere in prayer. That is why you find many people who started but did not finish. Jesus taught that when someone goes into battle, they must first count the cost, to determine whether they have what it takes to see it through to the end. In the same way, when someone is going to build a house, they must calculate the cost to determine whether they will be able to finish it. Otherwise, they will begin building and will not be able to finish. And everyone who passes by will begin to mock them, saying: “This man began to build, but he was not able to finish.” The world is full of people who began building their houses but did not finish. Many ended up becoming a source of shame and disgrace. No! You must be a courageous man! You must be a giant in faith, able to face the giants of this world and overcome the Sauls who arise along the way. Do not be afraid. Do not give up. Do not abandon prayer. Keep fighting. Keep praying. Keep persevering. Because the one who perseveres to the end will see the hand of God.

TUESDAY MORNING FAMILY PRAYER! “Lord, Cover Our Family, Heal Our Bodies, Save Our Souls, and Supply Our Needs!” Heavenly Father, On this Tuesday morning, we come before Your throne with grateful hearts. Before we ask You for anything, we thank You for everything. Thank You for waking us up this morning. Thank You for life, strength, grace, mercy, and another opportunity to call upon Your holy name. Your Word declares: “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV) Father, this morning we place our entire family into Your hands. Every mother, father, husband, wife, son, daughter, grandchild, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, and extended family member—we cover them in prayer. Lord, go where we cannot go. Touch those we cannot reach. Speak to hearts when our words are not enough. Protect our families from dangers seen and unseen, and let Your presence rest upon every household represented in our family. Your Word says: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” — Proverbs 18:10 (KJV) Father, be our strong tower! LORD, HEAL OUR FAMILY! Father, we lift before You every family member who is struggling physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Some are dealing with sickness in their bodies. Some are carrying pain that others cannot see. Some are fighting battles in their minds. Some are exhausted, discouraged, overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. But God, You know exactly where they are and exactly what they need! You declared: “For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD.” — Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV) So, Father, we ask You to restore health! Touch minds that are troubled. Touch bodies that are hurting. Touch hearts that are broken. Strengthen those who are weak. Comfort those who are grieving. Encourage those who feel discouraged. Give rest to those who are weary. Lord Jesus, heal, deliver, restore, and set free! Your Word declares: “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” — Psalm 107:20 (KJV) Father, send Your Word into every situation! Where there is sickness, send healing. Where there is bondage, send deliverance. Where there is confusion, send clarity. Where there is fear, send peace. Where there is despair, send hope. Where there is weakness, send strength. We stand upon Your Word and believe that nothing is too hard for You! LORD, SAVE OUR FAMILY! Father, our prayer is not only for physical healing—we are crying out for souls to be saved! We lift every family member who does not yet know Jesus Christ personally. Lord, draw them to You. Remove spiritual blindness. Break down hardened hearts. Remove every distraction, excuse, false teaching, and influence that keeps them from surrendering completely to Christ. Jesus said: “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.” — John 6:44 (KJV) Father, draw our family! Let somebody become hungry for Your Word. Let somebody become tired of living without You. Let somebody realize that possessions, accomplishments, relationships, and money cannot fill the place that belongs to Jesus. Let the question rise within their hearts: “What must I do to be saved?” And just as Paul and Silas answered: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” — Acts 16:30–31 (KJV) Father, let salvation come into our households! Your Word declares: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13 (KJV) Let our family members call upon Jesus! Let them repent. Let them believe. Let them surrender. Let them be transformed. We are praying not merely that they will know about Jesus, but that they will know Jesus and develop a genuine relationship with Him. Lord, save our sons and daughters. Save our grandchildren. Save our siblings. Save our extended family. Let there be a spiritual awakening throughout our bloodline. LORD, OPEN DOORS OF EMPLOYMENT AND FINANCIAL PROVISION! Father, we lift every family member searching for employment. Some have submitted applications and are waiting. Some are looking for better opportunities. Some need promotions. Some need pay increases. Some are working but still struggling to make ends meet. Some are carrying financial burdens that nobody else knows about. Father, open doors that no man can shut! Heal old wounds, misunderstandings, disappointments, and offenses. Where pride has entered, bring humility. Where anger has entered, bring forgiveness. Where communication has broken down, bring understanding. Where distance has developed, bring reconciliation according to Your will. Protect us traveling to work, school, appointments, and wherever this day may take us. Keep Your hand upon our children and grandchildren. Watch over our elderly family members. Strengthen our caregivers. Comfort those who are grieving. Encourage those who are discouraged. Restore those who have fallen. Save those who are lost. Heal those who are sick. Provide for those who are struggling. And unite our families through the love of Jesus Christ. We declare the words of Psalm 133:1 (KJV): “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” TUESDAY FAMILY DECLARATION... Today, we declare that our family belongs to God! We declare healing over the sick, peace over troubled minds, deliverance over those in bondage, salvation over the lost, employment for those seeking work, increase for those needing provision, and restoration over our relationships. We declare that Jesus Christ will be lifted up in our homes. We will love God first and love one another. We declare that God is our Healer, our Deliverer, our Savior, our Provider, our Protector, and our Keeper! And we believe that the God who began a good work in our family is faithful to complete it! IT WAS LIKE A DREAM When God Turns Captivity Into a Testimony Key Scripture: Psalm 126:1–6 There are times when God transforms your life so profoundly that it feels almost surreal. Psalm 126:1 tells us, “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.” Some breakthroughs are so remarkable that the pain of yesterday fades into the background. God has the power to shift you from sorrow to joy, from being overlooked to being embraced, from feeling stuck to experiencing growth, and from a long wait to a season of fulfillment. Take Joseph’s story, for instance. He went from being thrown into a pit to becoming a slave, then from slavery to prison, and finally from prison to the palace (Genesis 37; Genesis 39–41). Just picture waking up one day as a prisoner and realizing that God has set you up to be second in command in Egypt. It must have felt like a dream come true. Similarly, David’s journey was nothing short of miraculous—he went from tending sheep in the fields to reigning as the king of Israel (1 Samuel 16:11–13; 2 Samuel 5:3–4). When God intervenes in your life, He can elevate your status, transform your circumstances, and reshape your future in ways you never saw coming. Maybe you find yourself in a season where change feels elusive. Your prayers might seem unanswered, doors may appear firmly shut, and your dreams could feel out of reach. But remember, just because things are delayed doesn’t mean they’re denied. God can turn a situation around in an instant. Psalm 126:2 reminds us, “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.” The very mouth that once cried can become a source of testimony. The eyes that shed tears can become witnesses to God’s inYour current chapter isn’t the end of your story. Keep planting seeds of faith, keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting in God. Psalm 126:5 reminds us, “Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.” One day, you might find yourself looking back at those moments of sorrow and saying, “Look at what the Lord has accomplished!” What God is about to do in your life could be so incredible that it’ll be hard to put into words. Your next testimony might be so amazing that all you can say is: IT WAS LIKE A DREAM! Closing Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who changes our circumstances. We trust that You can turn our tears into laughter, our sadness into joy, and our bondage into freedom. Lord, please remember everyone who is waiting for a breakthrough. Shift their situations according to Your perfect plan. Open doors that no one can close, restore what has been lost, and bring hope where disappointment has taken root. Father, let our stories be so extraordinary that we will know for sure it was Your hand at work. May those who have seen our struggles also witness Your unwavering faithfulness. We declare that our season is shifting. Tears will transform into testimonies, waiting will lead to fulfillment, and what seems impossible will become a testament to Your power. Soon, we will look back and say, “It was like a dream!” In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
