A Childlike Faith By Jill Morikone August 24th, 2026 “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3 It was time for my phone call with my nephews. My sister’s children—all boys—live in North Carolina. Since we don’t get to see them as often as we like, our phone time became a special time to learn about their lives. Caleb, who was five years old, usually saved his time for last. He picked up the phone, and I prepared to hear about his Lego set or what the cat did that day. His first words, however, stopped me in my tracks: “Auntie Jill, I’m so happy because I asked Jesus into my life.” A lump formed in my throat. “Oh, sweetheart, I’m so proud of you!” I fought to keep the tears out of my voice. “That’s the best decision you’ll ever make.” His childish voice prattled on. “I can’t read the Bible yet, but when I want to be mean to my brothers, I ask Jesus to help me. I love God more than anything else, and I get to talk to Him every night!” The conversation turned quickly to something else, but his words burned in my mind. Was that the secret to walking with Jesus? Later, I thought about the simplicity of his faith, as I talked to a woman on the phone. “If I could only know Jesus forgives me. Do you think He’d accept me after what I’ve done?” As she talked, I heard a childish voice in my mind—Auntie Jill, I’m so happy because I asked Jesus into my life! Then, a coworker stopped by my desk. “I’m so irritated by this woman!” Again, I heard a little voice—When I want to be mean, I ask Jesus to help me. Toward evening, I received an e-mail: “I know I shouldn’t because I’m married, but I’m having feelings for someone else.” Again, I heard Caleb’s voice, I love Jesus more than anything else! Is that the secret to walking with Jesus? A childlike faith—Jesus has accepted and forgiven me. A childlike request—Help me, Jesus! Give me victory. A childlike love—I love Jesus above everything else. Father, restore in me the faith of a child.

Everyday they laid a few bricks; and soon they had a wall 🧱. Many people think 🤔 of success as a quantum leap but it is not 🚫. Think 🤔 of your success like a house 🏠 you are building 🏢. You put one brick on top of the other until you get a house 🏡. Be more interested in WHO YOU ARE BECOMING rather than what to do.Your success will be more lasting that way. If you focus on what to do it will have a temporary effect. When you BECOME a better person your results will reflect the new person you have become. If you improve your skills 1 percent every day in any area of your life, you will be 365 percent better in that area a year by this time. This means everyday you must wake up with the intention of BECOMING better than yesterday. The day will come when you will then see the compounded effect of what you have been bdoing. TEEN MISSIONARIES GET MARRIED AFTER MEETING ON A MISSION TRIP, 24 HOURS LATER THIER LIVES WERE TAKEN. A Young Christian couple who dedicated their lives to missionary work had just stepped into marriage when their story took a devastating turn. They met while serving as missionaries in South Africa, both passionate about sharing the Gospel and living out their faith on the mission field. Their love grew quickly, rooted in their shared calling and devotion to God. Soon, they were engaged-and believed they were stepping into a lifelong journey of ministry together as husband and wife. They held a simple courthouse wedding surrounded by close family. It was a moment of joy, faith, and new beginnings. But just one day after saying "I do," tragedy struck. The newlyweds were involved in a fatal car crash, cutting their marriage story down to less than 24 hours. One passed away at the scene, and the other later died in the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. What should have been the start of a lifetime together became a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile life truly is. Yet even in the sorrow, those who knew them continue to speak of their deep faith and devotion to Jesus. Their lives may have been short, but their testimony of love for Christ continues to speak. In the midst of grief, many are reflecting on a deeper biblical truth found in Isaiah 57:1: ' "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; devout people are taken away, while no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil." Though their time on earth was brief, their legacy of faith, love for Christ, and missionary devotion continues to speak.

God has given us the capacity to come in his Holiness everyday. Demons will flee away when we start bowing before the Lord KJV James: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." The devil in his arrogance will leave us as soon as we start to humble and submit ourselves to the Lord. We don't have to depend on others to get the best that God has reserved for us. It is our commitment and dedication in humbleness which will lead us deeper and deeper into his presence.

Don’t Give Up on God (Galatians 6:9) There are moments when you feel tired. Tired of praying. Tired of waiting. Tired of trying. Tired of fighting the same battles. Tired of seeing other people move forward while you seem to be standing still. And sometimes the easiest thought is: “Maybe I should just give up.” But God's Word reminds us: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Read that again: If we do not give up. Following Jesus doesn't mean you will never become tired. Faith doesn't mean you will never experience disappointment. Being a Christian doesn't mean every prayer will be answered immediately. There will be seasons when you have to keep walking even when you cannot see the destination. Think about a farmer. A farmer plants a seed, but doesn't see the harvest immediately. There is a season of waiting. A season of watering. A season of working. A season when nothing seems to be happening above the ground. But beneath the surface, something is happening. Your spiritual life can be like that. You may pray and feel like nothing is changing. You may read God's Word and wonder whether your situation will ever improve. You may serve others without seeing the impact. You may share your faith and wonder whether anyone is listening. Don't assume that nothing is happening simply because you cannot see the results yet. God can be working in ways you don't understand. Your responsibility is to remain faithful. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep serving. Keep learning. Keep loving. Keep obeying. Keep sharing Jesus. And when you fall, get back up. Peter failed Jesus. David made serious mistakes. Elijah became discouraged. Moses became frustrated. Many people in Scripture experienced moments of weakness. But their weakness wasn't the end of their story. God's grace met them there. Maybe today you feel like you've failed God too many times. Remember: Failure is not an invitation to run away from God. It is an invitation to return to Him. Confess. Repent. Receive His grace. Get back up. Keep walking. Sometimes perseverance doesn't look dramatic. Sometimes it simply means getting out of bed and praying again. Opening your Bible again. Going to church again. Trying again. Forgiving again. Serving again. Believing again. Taking one more step. And another. And another. You don't have to finish the entire journey today. Just take the next faithful step. There may be people around you who are also struggling silently. Your perseverance can encourage them. When they see you continue trusting God through difficult seasons, they may discover that faith isn't about having a perfect life. It's about having a faithful God. And ultimately, our hope isn't based on our ability to remain strong. Our hope is based on Jesus. He endured rejection. He endured suffering. He endured the cross. And He rose again. Because Christ overcame, we have reason to keep going. So if you're tired today, rest—but don't quit. If you need help, ask for it. If you need prayer, pray. If you need encouragement, reach out to another believer. But don't walk away from God because the road is difficult. The harvest may not be visible yet. Keep sowing. Keep trusting. Keep believing. At the right time, God will bring about what He has planned. Don't give up in the season when you cannot yet see the harvest. God is still working. A FAITH FIGHT 1 TIMOTHY 6:12 NRS 12 Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Too many people have the idea that if something is God's will for them to have that it will just automatically happen without any effort or involvement on their part. Not so! We have to cooperate with God. We must believe what He says. We must resist doubt and fear. To walk in the fullness of blessing God desires for us, we must fight the good fight of faith. Israel was our example. 1 CORINTHIANS 10:11 NRS 11 These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down to instruct us, on whom the ends of the ages have come. They had to fight the giants in the land to possess what God said was already theirs. The promised land belonged to them already because God had given it to them. But it was still inhabited by others (including giants), who had to be driven out before they could enjoy what was theirs. Since the Bible talks about the "good fight of faith," you know that standing in faith may often involve a struggle. There is a reason the Bible tells us to hold fast our confession of faith (Hebrews 4:14, 10:23). God knew we would be tempted to doubt because of the circumstances we would see in our lives. God knew that faith would be a struggle. So we should not be surprised at the fiery trials that happen to us. The devil is trying to steal our faith by trying to get us to doubt God's faithfulness to His Word. 1 PETER 4:12 NRS 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. We may have to fight with our own logic. It may tell us it is impossible for things to work out, that God's Word will not work for us, that we should not expect good things to happen to us. But victory in and through Jesus is the plan of God. It is possible. We must continue in faith. That is the fight we must engage in. SAY THIS: I will maintain my faith in God's Word no matter what life throws at me. I will do whatever it takes to maintain my faith in God. God bless you!

Morning Family, how easy have we missed the mark in our walk with Christ. Smoking, drinking, clubbing, prostitution etc aren't the things that are leading us to eternal damnation. Now hear my heart, good cannot come from these things but instead of these it is hatred, envy, jealousy, ill feelings towards each other. These are the things which will get us to hell. Ephesians 4:26 Do not let the sun go down whistle you are still angry. Matthew 22:39 Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Matthew 18:21-22 Peter asks Jesus how many times we should forgive someone who does wrong to us. Jesus replied " I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." Matthew 5:44 "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecut you." John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. Truely I say to you that we have all fallen short of this and my prayer is that we do not let the sunset today without making amends, so that the Deciever will not gain a foothold. James 4:7 (KJV) BIBLE READING: LUKE 11:24-26 24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. 25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. 26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. MESSAGE: The devil has two types of captives: the willing captives and the unwilling captives. An unwilling captive is someone who has entered either willingly or unwillingly into the trap of the devil but now wants to be delivered. Such a fellow will be set free from the devil’s hold when an anointed child of God prays for him or her. A willing captive, on the other hand, is someone who also gets into the devil’s hold either willingly or unwillingly but refuses to repent or be delivered because of the perceived benefits he or she is getting by serving satan. Even if such a fellow is forcefully delivered, he or she will return to the devil’s camp, and this time around, the bondage will be much worse because the demon(s) that were previously cast out will be multiplied sevenfold (Matthew 12:43-45). Many years ago, we discovered that a witch was among us in the church. We prayed for her to be delivered; however, she remained in bondage. We then asked her if she wanted to be free, and she said, “No. Do you want me to lose the power that I use to control my husband?” Such thinking is very unfortunate because those who serve the devil are headed for eternal damnation if they do not repent. A woman whose children were dying one after the other went to seek help from a prophet because she needed him to pray to God for their protection. While waiting for him, his wife asked her why she wanted to see her husband. She explained why she had come, and the prophet’s wife gave her a kolanut to eat, telling her it would solve her problem and that she didn’t need to wait for her husband again. When she went to sleep that night, she suddenly found herself among some witches in the spirit realm. They welcomed her and promised to protect her children if she joined them. She agreed based on their promise, and after some time, it became her turn to supply the blood that the coven would drink. At that point, she surrendered her husband to be sacrificed. More time passed, and it became her turn again to supply blood. This time, however, the witches asked her to sacrifice her children. That was when she decided to seek God’s help to save her children from the devil’s plan. Thank God she came to the church, and God delivered her. Beloved, the devil offers nothing good or lasting. For everything he gives, he takes a thousandfold in return. I pray that God grants you the grace to avoid his traps, and if he currently has any hold over you and you are willing to be set free, I decree your liberty now, in Jesus’ name.
