• OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

    DATE: THURSDAY 27TH AUGUST 2026

TOPIC: REFUEL, RECHARGE, RELOAD, PART 1

    MEMORIZE:
"And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel." Hebrews 12:24 (KJV)

BIBLE READING: LEVITICUS 17:11, MATTHEW 26:27-29

    LEVITICUS 17:11
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

    MATTHEW 26:27-29
    27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

    MESSAGE:
God created man such that he would constantly need refuelling. That is why He made sure that every day would be followed by a night so that, if you have worked very hard during the day, you can sleep and refuel your energy at night. Also, after you have eaten breakfast and worked for some time, you are expected to take a break for lunch to refuel. The Almighty God created hunger to remind you that you are running low on energy, so you can go ahead and recharge by eating. In the same way batteries must be recharged from time to time so they can remain effective, you must constantly recharge yourself spiritually so that you will not become spiritually ineffective.

Whenever you begin to run low on spiritual energy, there will be a hunger in your spirit, and you will feel the need to refill. When that hunger comes, please don't ignore it. Start fasting and praying immediately to recharge your spiritual energy. If you allow the hunger to persist, you will become weak, and this may cause you to faint in the day of adversity (Proverbs 24:10).

God, in His infinite mercy, has also provided the Holy Communion as a very effective way for Christians to refuel spiritually. The wine of the Holy Communion represents the blood of Jesus, and since the life of the flesh is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11), then the life of Jesus is in His blood. You cannot drink the blood of Jesus worthily and remain weak. People who belong to occult groups understand the power of blood. When members of the occult want to receive more power, they are asked to make sacrifices that involve blood. The greater the power they seek, the greater the sacrifices required. In most cases, those who rise to the highest levels of such groups are asked to drink the blood of their victims for quicker and greater empowerment. As children of God, when we partake of the Holy Communion, we partake of the blood of our risen Lord. Today's memory verse tells us that the blood of Jesus speaks better things than that of Abel. When you are weak, the blood of Jesus will speak strength and might into you.

Beloved, never wait until you are completely drained of your spiritual strength. Whenever you find yourself getting weak spiritually, partake of the Holy Communion to recharge yourself, and you will receive fresh energy from the endless life of Christ.

    KEY POINT:
Partaking of the Holy Communion will refuel your spiritual energy.

HYMNAL 8 - I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR
    1. I need thee every hour most gracious Lord; no tender voice like thine can peace afford.

    CHORUS:
I need thee, oh, I need thee; Every hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now my saviour; I come to thee!

    CHORUS:

    3. I need thee every hour in joy or pain; come quickly and abide or life is vain.

    CHORUS:

    4. I need Thee every hour
Teach me Thy will; And Thy rich promises In me fulfill.

    CHORUS:

    5. I need Thee every hour,
Most Holy one; Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son!

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    PRIORITISE MISSION.

    *TEXTS:*
    MATTHEW 24:14; MARK 13:10.
    *MATTHEW 24:14.*
    14. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
    *MARK 13:10.*
    10. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

    *TOPIC:*
    PRIORITISE MISSION.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Jesus made it clear that the gospel of the kingdom must be proclaimed to all nations before His return. The ultimate goal of missions is to establish the Lordship of Christ across the earth, not through force, but through the willing submission of hearts to His saving grace. Only through faith in Christ and His redemptive work can humanity be delivered from the bondage of sin, self, and Satan to serve God truly. As recipients of God's mercy and grace, we cannot remain silent about it. The good news is too powerful to be kept to ourselves. Like the young Karl Kumm of blessed memory, mission must be our priority. Be actively engaged through proclamation, prayers, and giving. Take the gospel to the dark corners of your world - home, neighbourhood, school, and workplace.

    *REFLECTION:*
This gospel of the kingdom must be preached.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, revive my passion for lost souls. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    EZEKIEL 37-39.

    ED.ii. DAVID AND MEPHIBOSHETH

"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah." - Revelation 11:15

When Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul, was told to come to king David's palace, he must have trembled all over his body. He must have thought David wanted revenge on him for what his grandfather Saul had done to him. When Mephibosheth entered the palace, he fell before king David's feet and exclaimed: 'What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?'

We will also have a heavenly palace where the living God is. There are many people, including Christians, who tremble in fear of the King, the living God, they fear to stand before His throne. They are afraid of what God will do to them. Will He be angry because of the sins they have committed? This is how they think, because they believe that God is an angry and stern God.

Do not be afraid for God

Today I want to tell you that God is a God of love and grace. He does not want anyone to perish. He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

You do not have to be afraid if you know that you are a child of God. When the time comes and the Lord calls you to come to His palace, do not be afraid to let go of the earth and courageously enter your King's palace. When you enter as Mephibosheth did, Jesus Christ will be standing there. Throw yourself at His feet, this is all you have to do and He will do the rest! He is a good God.

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content. ⏤ Philippians 4:11

Prayer is not so much an act as it is an attitude—an attitude of dependency, dependency upon God. ⏤ Arthur Pink

Almighty God, who has ordered our lives and appointed the place where we live—grant us the grace to accept cheerfully and to occupy contentedly the station in life that You, in Your providence, have assigned to us. Help us to see its sacredness because it is Your fatherly choice for us and Your gift to us.

Surely, the place You have prepared for us, and where You have set us, must be the best place for us—the place where we can best grow as Christians, where the atmosphere is most healthy for us, and where the experiences are best suited to develop our character. It must also be the place where we can do the best service for You. Help us to accept it with confidence and to live in it without discontent.

Sometimes we are tempted to complain. We think others are more favored, have easier lives, less care and toil, and more ease and comfort. We imagine that if we could trade places with others, we could live more sweetly and make more of our lives.

Forgive us for this sin of discontentment with our place in life. You know what is best for us. You know where we can be of the most use to You and others, where the work is that You have for us to do.

So, we earnestly pray, our Father, for the spirit of cheerful acceptance of Your plan and Your way for us. Help us to accept Your guidance and to do the things that come to us day by day from Your hand. Then, at the end, we can rejoice in the blessing of those who have done Your will and served our generation. We ask all this through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Amen.

Good evening, brethren. 1. Evening devotion for today. ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST* (COCIN DEVOTIONAL) *DATE:* WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST, 2026. *SUB-THEME:* YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE. *TOPIC:* PRIORITISE MISSION. *TEXTS:* MATTHEW 24:14; MARK 13:10. *MATTHEW 24:14.* 14. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. *MARK 13:10.* 10. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. *TOPIC:* PRIORITISE MISSION. *THE MESSAGE:* Jesus made it clear that the gospel of the kingdom must be proclaimed to all nations before His return. *REFLECTION:* This gospel of the kingdom must be preached. *PRAYER:* Lord, revive my passion for lost souls. Amen. *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:* 2 TIMOTHY 2:21. "If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work." *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:* EZEKIEL 37-39. ED.ii. DAVID AND MEPHIBOSHETH "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah." - Revelation 11:15 When Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and grandson of Saul, was told to come to king David's palace, he must have trembled all over his body. He must have thought David wanted revenge on him for what his grandfather Saul had done to him. When Mephibosheth entered the palace, he fell before king David's feet and exclaimed: 'What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?' We will also have a heavenly palace where the living God is. There are many people, including Christians, who tremble in fear of the King, the living God, they fear to stand before His throne. They are afraid of what God will do to them. Will He be angry because of the sins they have committed? This is how they think, because they believe that God is an angry and stern God. Do not be afraid for God Today I want to tell you that God is a God of love and grace. He is a good God. https://www.theblessingdevotional.com 2. Evening Prayer for today. EP.i. • I thank You, Father God, for the blessings and the provision of the blood of Jesus.
I stand on the ground of the blood of Jesus to proclaim victory over spiritual weariness and depletion in my life, in the name of Jesus.
Let all demonic, satanic assignments that are trying to paralyze me and steal my spiritual strength and deplete my anointing in this battle, this fight, and this war shrivel up and die in the blood of Jesus.
Let the blood of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ revive me and reenergize me from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, in Jesus’ mighty name.
I apply the blood of Jesus to every area of my life, completely and fully, this year, from the beginning to the end and everything in the middle, so that no weapon, no devil, no witch or warlock, and no satanic force will be able to accomplish any demonic assignment that they tailor-made, custom-made, or demonically engineered against me. Let them drown in the blood of Jesus. Amen.
I speak, by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, spiritual strength, power, and might in the anointing from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. May the blood of Jesus Christ cover me, my family, my loved ones, my ministry, my purpose, and my destiny, in Jesus’ unmatchable, almighty name.
Let the blood of Jesus quicken all that is dead and lukewarm within me, in the name of Jesus Christ forevermore.

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - WEDNESDAY, 26TH AUGUST, 2026.*

    *HOPE IN THE LORD*

    Scripture:
“Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.” — Psalm 130:7 (KJV).

*Reflection – Our Hope Is in the Lord*

Psalm 130 is a cry from the depths, yet it moves from distress to confident hope. The Psalmist reminds God's people that their hope should not be placed in circumstances, people, possessions, or human strength, but in the Lord.

Why can we hope in God?

Because mercy belongs to Him, and with Him there is plenteous redemption.

God does not merely have enough mercy for a few situations. His mercy is abundant. He is able to redeem what appears lost, restore what has been broken, and bring hope into situations that seem beyond recovery.

Today, whatever you are facing, don't allow your circumstances to determine the level of your hope. Put your hope in the Lord.

Your situation may change. People may disappoint you. Plans may fail. But God's mercy remains, and His power to redeem is unlimited.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*

Today, I declare that my hope is in the Lord. I will not put my ultimate confidence in circumstances, human beings, possessions, or my own strength. My trust is in the Almighty God.

I declare that the abundant mercy of God speaks over my life today. Where I have fallen short, may His mercy restore me. Where I have made mistakes, may His grace teach and redirect me. Where I have experienced disappointment, may His mercy renew my hope.

I proclaim plenteous redemption over every area of my life. May the Lord redeem lost opportunities, wasted seasons, broken dreams, difficult experiences, and every situation that needs His restoring hand.

I declare redemption over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May God bring restoration according to His perfect will.

Today, I refuse to surrender to hopelessness. I will not allow yesterday's disappointment to determine tomorrow's expectation. I believe that God is still working, even when I cannot see the full picture.

I declare that every season of waiting shall produce spiritual maturity, deeper faith, wisdom, and greater dependence upon God.

I proclaim that the Lord shall renew my strength. When I am tired, He shall sustain me. When I am discouraged, He shall lift me. When I am confused, He shall guide me. When I am weak, He shall be my strength.

Today, I declare that God's mercy shall follow me. His goodness shall surround me, and His favor shall accompany me wherever He sends me.

I declare that no failure, disappointment, delay, or difficult season shall have the final word concerning my life. God's redemption is greater than my past, and His mercy is greater than my mistakes.

I receive grace to wait patiently for God's intervention. I will not force doors He has not opened, and I will not abandon my faith because the answer has not yet arrived.

My hope shall remain alive because the Lord is faithful.

    I hope in the Lord.
    I trust in His mercy.
    I believe in His redemption.
    I wait for His timing.
    I expect His faithfulness.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
Begin with thanksgiving: Thank God for His mercy and unfailing faithfulness.

Read Psalm 130: Meditate on how the Psalm moves from crying out to God toward confident hope.

Declare: “My hope is in the Lord, for with Him there is mercy and abundant redemption.”

Surrender your past: Give God your regrets, failures, disappointments, and painful experiences. Trust Him to redeem your story.

Pray for someone who has lost hope: Ask God to strengthen someone who is going through a difficult season.

Practice patience: If you are waiting for an answer from God, refuse to allow anxiety to make you abandon faith.

End with praise: Thank God in advance for His mercy, redemption, and faithfulness.

    *Prayer:*
    Heavenly Father,
Thank You because You are my hope and my Redeemer. I thank You because Your mercy is abundant and Your power to redeem is beyond measure.

Lord, I place my complete hope in You today. Forgive me for the times I have allowed circumstances to become greater than my confidence in You.

Let Your mercy speak over every area of my life. Where I have made mistakes, restore me. Where I have experienced loss, comfort me. Where I have become discouraged, renew my hope.

Redeem my time, my opportunities, my efforts, my relationships, and every good purpose You have ordained for my life.

Remember my family, ministry, work, business, studies, and destiny. Let Your perfect will be accomplished in each area.

Give me patience while I wait for Your intervention. Help me trust You even when I cannot understand what You are doing.

Lord, let my life become a testimony of Your abundant mercy and redemption. Turn difficult seasons into testimonies and use every experience to draw me closer to You.

My hope is in You, Lord. I will trust Your mercy, wait for Your timing, and believe in Your redemption.

    In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

    *Blessing for today:*
May the Lord fill your heart with unshakable hope today. May His abundant mercy speak over you, your household, and everything that concerns you.

May God redeem every wasted season, restore every good thing according to His will, and transform every difficult experience into a testimony of His faithfulness.

May He strengthen you while you wait, guide you when you are uncertain, and give you peace when circumstances are beyond your control.

May your family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny experience God's redeeming power.

    Your hope will not die.
    God's mercy will sustain you.
    His redemption is abundant.
Your waiting will not be wasted.
    Your testimony shall glorify God.

“LET ISRAEL HOPE IN THE LORD: FOR WITH THE LORD THERE IS MERCY, AND WITH HIM IS PLENTEOUS REDEMPTION.” — PSALM 130:7.

Keep your hope in the Lord. His mercy is abundant, His redemption is plentiful, and His faithfulness never fails.

Good morning beloved and do have a blessed, hopeful, peaceful, and testimony-filled day
    Shalom!

TITLE: "ABIDE IN GOD: DWELL IN HIS PRESENCE, REMAIN IN HIS STRENGTH"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

Psalm 91:1–2 (KJV) "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."

John 15:4 (KJV) "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

"Your strength, safety, and fruitfulness begin with remaining close to God."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

The Christian life is not designed to be lived independently of God. We need His presence, strength, guidance, and grace every day. Psalm 91:1 gives us a beautiful picture of this relationship: "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

The word "dwelleth" means to live, remain, or make one's home in a place. It is more than visiting occasionally. God desires us to develop a consistent relationship with Him rather than seeking Him only when trouble comes.

The "secret place" speaks of intimate fellowship with God—a place of prayer, worship, meditation on His Word, and communion with Him. To "abide under the shadow of the Almighty" speaks of resting in His presence and depending on His power and protection.

The psalmist therefore confidently declares, "He is my refuge and my fortress." A refuge is a place of safety, while a fortress provides protection against attack. The writer's confidence was not in his circumstances but in his relationship with God: "my God; in him will I trust."

Jesus gives us the same principle in John 15:4: "Abide in me, and I in you." He uses the relationship between a branch and a vine to explain spiritual dependence. A branch cannot produce fruit by itself. It must remain connected to the vine.

Likewise, we cannot produce lasting spiritual fruit through human effort alone. We need continuous connection with Christ. To abide means to remain, continue, dwell, and stay connected.

Life experience teaches us that disconnection brings weakness. A phone may be fully functional, but without connection to its power source, its battery eventually runs down. Similarly, believers who neglect prayer, God's Word, worship, and fellowship with Christ can become spiritually weak and vulnerable.

Abiding in Christ does not mean that problems will never come. It means that when problems come, we do not face them alone. We have a refuge. We have a fortress. We have the presence of the Almighty.

Today, do not merely visit God's presence—dwell there. Do not only seek Christ when you need something—abide in Him daily.

Stay connected to Christ, and let His presence become your place of strength, peace, protection, and fruitfulness.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S)

Psalm 16:8 (KJV) "I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. God's presence should be our permanent dwelling place, not an occasional refuge.

    2. Trusting God brings confidence in the midst of uncertainty.

    3. Spiritual strength comes from remaining connected to Christ.

    4. Like a branch depends on the vine, we depend on Jesus for spiritual fruitfulness.

    5. Prayer and God's Word help us maintain intimate fellowship with Christ.

    6. Abiding in Christ produces stability, peace, strength, and lasting fruit.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

Spend intentional time with God today through prayer and His Word, and consciously depend on Christ in every decision.

    PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me dwell in Your presence and abide in Christ every day. Be my refuge and fortress, strengthen my faith, and make my life fruitful for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The Lord is my refuge and fortress. I remain connected to Christ, and His strength, peace, and life flow through me. I will bear lasting fruit for His glory. Amen.

    TOPIC: FEAR GOD, PART 2

    MEMORIZE:
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: DANIEL 1:8-20
8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

11 Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,

12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

14 So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.

16 Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.

17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18 Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.

20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

    MESSAGE:
Yesterday, I discussed some benefits of having the fear of God, and today I will discuss how having the fear of God can give you access to the secrets of His heart.

The Bible says in Psalm 25:14 that the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will reveal His covenant to them. God shares His secrets with those who fear Him, just like we humans tend to confide in those who believe in us and hold us in high regard.

Abraham was someone who feared the Lord, and in turn, he was given access to the secrets of God's heart. When God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, He said, "...Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do," (Genesis 18:17). God can only say such about the people who fear Him because He knows that they will cherish His secrets.

Daniel was another person who gained tremendous insights because of how he feared and honoured God. He was taken into captivity at a young age, but his fear of the Lord led him to remain faithful to Him. The Bible says in Daniel 1:8 that he purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the portion of the king's meat. He honoured God by being faithful to Him even in a foreign land and also led his companions to do the same. God, in turn, honoured his decision by making him and his companions ten times better than their peers (Daniel 1:20). When the king had a dream that none of the magicians in the land could tell or interpret, God revealed it to Daniel (Daniel 2:19).

Beloved, when you fear God, you will never lack spiritual knowledge and insight because God will always make sure that you have access to it. Today's memory verse says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, and Psalm 111:10 also says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Everyone who feared the Lord in the Bible had access to uncommon knowledge. If you want to access that kind of knowledge, you have to fear God. If you want God to give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches in secret places, just as He promised in Isaiah 45:3, you must honour Him with your thoughts, decisions, and actions. I pray that the Almighty God will give you access to the secrets of His heart as you honour Him with your life, in Jesus' name.

    KEY POINT:
Those who fear God have access to uncommon insights and knowledge.
