• St. Mary Magdalene

St. Mary Magdalene is mentioned in all the New Testament Gospels and she is also called Mary of Magdala. She was a very close disciple of Jesus and she was present at the foot of the cross on which Jesus was crucified as mentioned in the Gospels of Matthew 27:56, Mark 15:40 and John 19:23. She was also present when the holy body of Jesus was buried in the tomb by Joseph of Aramathea as per Matthew 27:61 and also Mark 15:47. She also went to the tomb of Jesus (also with others) on the early morning of the third day of Jesus' death and found the tomb empty. In the tomb it was informed to her by \'two men in clothes that gleaned like lightening\' that Jesus has resurrected. She immediately ran away and informed St. Peter and St. John about the resurrection of Jesus. They did not believe her but ran toward the tomb of Jesus and found the tomb empty and left the tomb in confusion. It seems Mary Magdalene also followed the two apostles but reached the tomb later after the two apostles left the tomb. On reaching the tomb she started weeping. Jesus, standing behind her and asked \'Woman why are you crying, who are you looking?\' She, thinking that the person must be the gardener, requested him to return the body of Jesus, if he had taken it from there. Then Jesus said \'Mary\'. She turned and said to him \'Rabbouni\'. Jesus gave the rare privilege of appearing first to Mary Magdalene only, after His resurrection (John 20:11\-18). She got this privilege of meeting the resurrected Jesus because she waited at the tomb for some long time to know about Jesus, unlike the two apostles who left the tomb quickly with confusion. Some historians say that after 14 years of the death of Jesus, the Jews put Mary Magdalene and some other Christians in a boat without any sails or oars. They drifted out to the sea and reached the shores of Southern France. Mary Magdalene spent the rest of her life there in a cave known as Sainte\-Baume. She was given the holy Eucharist daily by the angels and that was her only food. Legend says that she was transported miraculously to the chapel of St. Maximin just before her death and there she received her last sacraments. Pope Benedict\-XVI spoke about Mary Magdalene in his address before the Angelus, referring her as \'a disciple of the Lord who plays a lead role in the Gospel\'.

  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel

The title "Our Lady of Mount Carmel" is given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in her role as the patroness of the Carmelite Order. The feast is also known as the "Scapular Feast" because of its association with the brown scapular, a symbol worn by members of the Carmelite Order. According to tradition, the Holy Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, a Prior General of the Carmelites, on July 16, 1251, and gave him the brown scapular. This event became a significant part of Carmelite spirituality, as the scapular symbolizes Mary's special protection over those who wear it.

The brown scapular is considered a form of Mary's own garment, and it offers both spiritual grace and protection. Carmelites believe that the Virgin Mary serves as a model of virtue and contemplative prayer. The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was first celebrated by the Carmelite Order between 1376 and 1386 to commemorate their victory over adversaries and the official approval of their name and constitution by Pope Honorius III in 1226.

The Carmelite Order traces its origins back to the Old Testament prophets Elijah and Elisha, who are believed to have lived on Mount Carmel, located in present-day Israel. This connection to Mount Carmel reflects the deep Carmelite tradition of prayer and contemplation.

One notable event associated with this title occurred on October 13, 1917, during the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima. The visionaries at Fatima reported seeing Our Lady of Mount Carmel during this miraculous event, further cementing her importance in the Church.

The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was eventually extended to the entire Latin Church by Pope Benedict XIII on September 24, 1726. This celebration honors Mary's guidance and protection, especially for the Carmelite community and all those who wear the scapular in devotion to her.

  • St. Benedict

He was born around the year 480 A.D. in a distinguished family of a Roman noble, in Umbria, Italy. He was a twin with his sister St. Scholastica. He studied in Rome and wanted to live a secluded life away from the busy city life, to avoid watching marching armies, sufferings of people. He left Rome with his aged nurse and settled down at Enfide, near the church of St. Peter. Later he met a monk Romanus of Subiaco, whose monastery was in the mountains. Romanus gave St. Benedict the habit of a monk. Benedict lived a life of a hermit for three years in a cave in the mountain. He became a very respectable monk and people used to gather around him for spiritual guidance. When the abbot of a nearby monastery died, the monks came to St. Benedict and requested him to take over the abbot of the monastery and Benedict gave consent reluctantly and became the abbot knowing well that the manners of the monks are different from his views. Benedict made many reforms in the monastery and introduced many reforms for the monks. The monks did not agree with the reforms of St. Benedict and tried to kill him by poisoning. Once the monks added poison in the drink given for St. Benedict but when St. Benedict prayed before drinking, the cup shattered. In another occasion the monks gave poisoned bread to him but when St. Benedict prayed before eating the bread, a bird called raven suddenly came in and took away the poisoned bread and miraculously saved the life of St. Benedict. Disgusted about the behavior of the monks, St. Benedict returned to his cave for hermit life and attracted by his sanctity many people came to him again for solace. He founded 12 monasteries in the vicinity of Subiaco and later founded the famous Benedictine Monastery of Monte Cassino, on the hill top between Rome and Naples. He died at the Monte Cassino Monastery due to high fever, on March 21, 547. He wrote the \'Rule of Benedict\' with 73 chapters about how to live a Christ-centric spiritual life and about how to run a monastery efficiently. He contributed more to the rise of monasticism and his rules are the fundamental document for many religious communities even today.

  • Sacred Heart of Jesus

    Feast of the Sacred Heart:

    Date and Celebration:
    - The Feast of the Sacred Heart is celebrated annually 19 days after Pentecost, always on a Friday. It honors the Sacred Heart of Jesus, depicted in art as a flaming heart surrounded by thorns, pierced by a lance, and topped with a cross, symbolizing His love and sacrifice.

    Origins and Revelation:
    - The devotion to the Sacred Heart began with the mystical experiences of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun born on July 22, 1647. She reported visions of Jesus Christ starting on December 27, 1673, where He revealed His Sacred Heart and expressed His desire for this devotion to be widespread.
    - In her second vision on June 6, 1675, Jesus disclosed His deep love for humanity despite its ingratitude. These revelations led to the private observance of the feast in her convent in 1686 and the establishment of a chapel in Paray-le-Monial in 1688.

    Papal Endorsement:
    - The feast gained official recognition when Pope Pius XII endorsed it through his encyclical "Haurietis aquas" on May 15, 1956. Pope Benedict XVI reaffirmed its significance in a letter dated May 15, 2006, to the Superior General of the Society of Jesus.

    Significance:
    - The Feast of the Sacred Heart emphasizes Jesus' immense love and compassion for humanity. It serves as a reminder of His sacrifice and divine mercy, highlighting His unwavering love and the call for believers to reflect on and respond to this love.

  • The Sabbath Truth # 11
Mark of the Beast & the Sabbath

On the previous page we found that the mark of the beast is Satan's counterfeit law that goes against the law of God. We also saw that the Roman Catholic Church (the Antichrist system) boasted about changing the Sabbath Day of God from the seventh day to the first. Could this be the mark of the beast? Well the Papal church did say it was her "mark" of authority to change God's Law.

"As Pope Benedict says, Sunday is not just a suspension of ordinary activities, but a time when 'Christians discover the Eucharistic form that their lives are meant to have.' The way we celebrate Sunday will affect the way we live the remainder of the week and is a mark of Christian identity from generation to generation."

    (Cardinal Sean P. O'Malley, Pastoral Letter, November 20, 2011)

"Question. Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals of precept?

Answer. Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her.- she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority." (Doctrinal Catechism, Rev. Stephen Keenan (Kenedy, New York), p. 174)

    Sabbath and the Mark Linked

If you study the little horn power in Daniel 7, you will find an antichrist system who thinks it has power to change God's Laws. This little horn antichrist power is none other than the Papal Church of Rome (Roman Catholic Church). Now if we look at a verse in Revelation 14, we will see a connection with the Sabbath Commandment.

Revelation 14:6-7 ...'And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.'

The three angels of Revelation 14 represent God's people (messengers) on earth proclaiming His truth during these end times. Notice the words that this messenger uses above - "worship him that made heaven, earth, the seas and waters". Does God have a law that tells us who it is we worship and obey? Exodus 20:11 ...'For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.'

Do you see the connection there? This message of Revelation 14, which also warns about receiving the mark of the beast (Rev. 14:9-10), is pointing us back to creation and the 4th commandment. Why?

Because the sabbath commandment points us to our Creator God and is the only commandment which tells us who it is we worship.

So when we honor the TRUE Bible sabbath (seventh day sabbath, Saturday). We are giving honor, worship and obedience to "Yehovah" as the TRUE God, who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.

So which command of God is Satan going to counterfeit? The sabbath commandment of course! Through counterfeiting this commandment and introducing a false sabbath day, Satan diverts worship from the TRUE God, Creator of the heavens and earth, to himself! This is vital to grasp! Please look at this with open eyes and ask God to guide you to His truth. This is so important.

There is a group of people known as Gods remnant church on earth, who are represented by these angels in Revelation 14, and they are giving a warning to the world to worship the God who created the heavens, the earth and the seas, and to keep the seventh day Sabbath Commandment.

This issue of the mark of the beast is all to do with worship. Who will we choose to worship and obey? Will we choose to worship and obey God, and keep His Commandments, including the Sabbath commandment? Or will we choose to worship satan by obeying the Roman Catholic Church and keep her sunday sabbath instead?

REMEMBER!! It is only those who keep God's Commandments and the faith of Jesus that do not receive the mark of the beast, as confirmed in Revelation 14:12

Revelation 13:16 ...'And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.'

So the mark is in the forehead or hand. Now apply this to the Sabbath.

Exodus 20:8 .....'Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

Where do we remember? In our FOREHEADS (our minds).

Exodus 20:9-10 .....'Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.'

With what do we work? Our HANDS!

Are you seeing this important truth? Those who make a free will decision in their minds to give their allegiance to the beast (Roman Catholic Church) and keep their sunday sabbath instead of "remembering" and keeping God's seventh day Sabbath will receive the mark of the beast in their foreheads. Those who simply bow under economic pressure of not being able to "buy or sell", will receive the mark in their hand.

And just look at the state of the world today. Look at the economic troubles of the nations. Unemployment, debt. Look at how people rely so much on the lifestyles they have built up. Entertainment, food, having a good time. Satan is bringing about a position in this world where people will welcome the mark of the beast with open arms, in order to continue "buying and selling".

Do those who keep sunday as Sabbath have the mark of the beast now? No, because Sunday needs to be enforced by law in order to become the mark. And God still has many of His people within the Roman Catholic Church, and the other fallen churches, and is calling His people out of these sunday keeping churches

Revelation 18:4 ...'And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.'

So if God has people still in the Roman Catholic Church and other sunday keeping protestant churches, then they do not have the beast's mark yet. But when the National Sunday Law is enforced in America and throughout the world, then we will have a big decision to make. Do we reject that law, no matter how bad it gets and keep God's Law and receive His seal? Or do we accept the Sunday Law of the Papal church and receive the beast's mark? Friend, very soon we will all have a choice to make, and some are already making that choice, because Sunday laws have already been passed in certain places. No matter how much pressure you are put under, eternity is waiting for you if you just trust in God and keep His Commandments, including the seventh day Sabbath commandment, and keep the faith of Jesus Christ.

Please open your eyes to this truth and "Worship Him who made the heavens, the earth, and all that is in them."
