• THE SPIRITUAL TRUTHS OF EACH BEATTITUDE…

The Beatitudes, delivered by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-12), are far more than a moral code or a list of pleasant virtues. They map out a radical spiritual inversion—a pathway where worldly weakness becomes divine strength and the values of the human ego are completely upended by the reality of the Kingdom of Heaven.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
The Spiritual Truth: Spiritual Bankruptcy is the Gate to Grace.
Insight: To be "poor in spirit" means recognizing your utter inability to save, justify, or sustain yourself spiritually on your own terms. It strips away self-sufficiency and spiritual pride. The paradox is that you can only inherit divine richness when you admit your spiritual destitution.

    2. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
The Spiritual Truth: Holy Sorrow Prepares the Heart for Divine Joy.
Insight: This mourning refers not just to general grief or bereavement, but to deep contrition over personal sin and the brokenness of the world. In a culture that desperately pursues endless distraction and superficial happiness, this truth teaches that facing the weight of human suffering and our own shortcomings creates an empty space that only divine comfort can fill.

    3. "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."
The Spiritual Truth: Surrendered Power is True Strength.
Insight: Meekness (prautes) is often misunderstood as weakness or timidity, but in the ancient world, it described a wild stallion that had been broken and trained to respond to the slightest touch of its master's reins. It is power under control. The meek do not need to manipulate, dominate, or defend themselves because they trust God to vindicate them, ultimately inheriting the renewed creation.

    4. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
The Spiritual Truth: Desire Determines Destiny.
Insight: Most people hunger for comfort, approval, status, or security. This beatitude points to a relentless, visceral appetite—like a starving person craving food—for alignment with God's justice, character, and righteousness. Spiritual fullness is not given to the self-satisfied, but to those whose deepest craving is union with the divine good.

    5. "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."
The Spiritual Truth: Grace Given is Grace Received.
Insight: Mercy is withholding judgment and extending active compassion where it is completely unearned. Spiritually, we cannot truly comprehend or hold onto the mercy we’ve received from God if we hoard it from others. Extending forgiveness and empathy is the mirror that reflects our own participation in God's forgiving nature.

    6. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."
The Spiritual Truth: Internal Singleness of Purpose Leads to Divine Vision.
Insight: Purity here does not mean flawless perfection; it means integrous and undivided. A pure heart is one whose motives are transparent, unclouded by hypocrisy, double-mindedness, or hidden agendas. When the lens of the heart is wiped clean of ego-driven distortions, God stops being a theological concept and becomes a lived reality you can perceive everywhere.

    7. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
The Spiritual Truth: Active Reconciliation Mirrors the Family Likeness.
Insight: Peacemaking is vastly different from mere "peacekeeping" (which often just sweeps conflict under the rug to keep things quiet). Peacemakers actively step into hostility, brokenness, and division to bridge gaps, absorbing conflict to restore harmony. By doing this, they act like their Father, bearing the unmistakable family resemblance.

    8. "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
The Spiritual Truth: Friction is the Proof of Alignment.
Insight: When a life completely aligns with transcendent truth and selfless love, it inevitably clashes with a world system built on self-preservation and compromise. This beatitude reframes suffering not as a sign of divine abandonment, but as the ultimate badge of honor—proof that your life is echoing a reality higher than this world.

  • WHY SPEAK IN TONGUES? Part 2 of 4.
The Christian's Three-fold Ministry in Tongues.

The purpose of this study is to enable those who have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit to understand why they should continue to pray in the Spirit regularly each day. Many Spirit-filled believers do not continue to pray in tongues because they have never been informed that they should, thinking that speaking in tongues was merely the evidence that they had been baptized in the Spirit. Because of this they have not only missed many spiritual blessings which accompany the glorious release of the spirit that praying in tongues gives, but they have also failed to fulfill the ministry that God has provided them through their baptism in the Spirit.

Every Spirit-filled believer, as a consequence of his baptism in the Holy Spirit and his ability to pray in tongues, has been supernaturally endowed with a three-fold charismatic ministry of prayer in the Spirit. This ministry involves: personal ministry for oneself, devotional ministry to God, and an extended ministry on behalf of others.

    1. Personal ministry in tongues for oneself.
The importance of personal ministry to oneself through prayer in the Spirit cannot be overemphasized, inasmuch as God has, by this means, provided us with the supernatural ability to minister to ourselves spiritually as often as we desire. Through praying in tongues the believer is able to minister divine strength and rest to his own spirit, increase his faith, and intercede in the Spirit on his own behalf. In fact, there are three specific areas where prayer in the Spirit enables the charismatic believer to minister to himself.

    A. Self-edification.
He that speaketh in a tongue edifieth himself I Corinthians 14:4.

Self-edification is an essential ministry which God has provided for the Spirit-filled Christian through his ability to pray in the Spirit. Certainly he can also be edified through reading God's Word and by prayer with the understanding, but the personal ministry in tongues has been ordained by God to accomplish a spiritual work in the Christian which is impossible by any other means.

Some Christians without the charismatic experience, and because of erroneous teaching on the subject, will occasionally raise the objection that Paul seems to emphasize the value of prophecy over speaking in tongues in I Corinthians 14. On the contrary, with regard to personal ministry to oneself, the Scriptures show that speaking in tongues is more essential to the believer's edification than prophecy (I Corinthians 14:2,4,14-15,18; Jude 20).

It is only with reference to our ministry to the church that the Apostle stresses the obvious advantage of prophesying over speaking in tongues without interpretation, because of the need for the Body of Christ to understand what is being said by the Spirit (note I Corinthians 14:4-5,19,28, "in the church"). However, the Apostle carefully points out that if the tongues which are spoken are also interpreted, then tongues are equivalent to prophecy and serve the same function (14:5,13,27).

As any unprejudiced reader can see, the Scriptures clearly show that prophecy edifies the church, and through tongues the believer edifies himself. With regard to personal ministry to oneself, praying in the Spirit is the divinely ordained means by which the believer edifies himself.

Paul indicates in I Corinthians 14:2,4,14-15 that when he prayed in tongues it was his spirit, not his intellect, which prayed to God. The Lord knows that, just as your body needs food to be strengthened and your mind needs to be encouraged by the Word and prayer, so too your spirit needs to be edified or strengthened by praying in the Spirit each day. This is precisely what Spirit-filled Christians are admonished to do in Jude 20. You are encouraged to pray in the Spirit regularly, for in so doing God states that you are "building up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost."

Self-edification through praying in tongues is a necessary important ministry which God has provided for the believer that praying with the understanding or intellect cannot give. It is the most direct and effective means whereby the inner man is strengthened spiritually, and the believer's faith is built up to enable him to endure trial, resist Satan, overcome temptation, and faithfully fulfill his place in the Body of Christ.

The Scriptures show us that although faith cometh by hearing the word (Romans 10;17), it is strengthened and increased by "praying in the Holy Spirit" (Jude 20; I Corinthians 14:4). Regular and consistent prayer in the Spirit is the primary means by which the deep, inward work of the Holy Spirit is done in the believer. Without question many of the trials which have overwhelmed you, and the temptations which you failed to resist successfully, as well as the fear, worry, and anxiety which have oppressed you, are directly related to your neglect of regular, daily prayer in the Spirit. If, therefore, you desire to be strong in the faith, and walk in victory over every trail and adverse circumstances, then avail yourself of the supernatural means by which God has made this possible, for "he that speaks in an unknown* tongue edifieth himself."

    B. Spiritual Rest.
With stammering lips and another tongue will he speak...This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing:... --Isaiah 28:11-12.

God has provided a spiritual rest for the believer which cannot be obtained by any means other than praying in the Spirit. The Apostle Paul shows in I Corinthians 14:21-22 that the "rest" of which God speaks in Isaiah 28:11-12 is with reference to speaking in tongues. When the Spirit-filled believer faces trial and adversity; when he is tempted to doubt and worry; when he is tempted to panic during some crisis or emergency; when problems seem as if they are about to overwhelm him; when, in his warfare with the forces of darkness, he finds himself weary or discouraged; he can minister to himself through the Spirit and enter into a place of spiritual rest and victory which is unknown to those without the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Through the baptism in the Spirit, God has provided a supernatural rest of the believer. The modern church's neglect of the experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and its unwarranted opposition to speaking in tongues, will help to explain why the offices of so many pastors and psychiatrists are filled with Christians who are desperately crying out for help with serious problems, or for deliverance from fears, worries, and anxieties, as well as from habits, addictions, and obsessions of every kind.

*The term unknown does not occur in the original, but was added by the translators. These are true languages (although unknown to the speaker) which the Spirit-filled believer speaks supernaturally; they are recognizable as such by those who speak any of these particular languages or tongues, as Acts 2:6,11; 10:46 clearly indicate.

Innumerable Christians find themselves spiritually unfruitful, confused, and frustrated. Why is this? It is the result of the sin of neglect of the Holy Spirit. The church has made the "Blessed Comforter" a doctrine in its creed, instead of a personal experience, which Christ insisted the believer must receive if he is to be spiritually strong and fruitful, and victorious over the powers of darkness (John 14:12-26; Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4; Mark 16:16-18; I Corinthians 12; 140.

The institutional church spends a good deal of time trying to defend its unscriptural position that a Christian receives the baptism in the Holy Spirit (automatically and inevitably and without tongues) at the time of his conversion, and that the baptism is not a definite spiritual experience subsequent to salvation.

It contends, moreover, that speaking in tongues is not for this dispensation, completely ignoring the plain fact that the Scriptures teach to the contrary (Isaiah 28:11-12 Mark 16:17; Acts 2:1-4 with 38-39; Romans 8:26-27; I Corinthians 12:1ff.; 14:1-5,27-28,39; Ephesians 6:18; Jude 20).

What God intends for us to see in these passages goes completely beyond all petty arguments as to whether or not Christians today can have the baptism of the Holy Spirit without speaking in tongues, for He stresses here the essential need for Christians to speak in tongues. It is to be the means by which the believer enters into spiritual "rest," witnesses effectively, making intercession on behalf of himself and others, worships God in the Spirit, and builds himself up in the faith.

God has provided a "rest" for the believer so that when he faces weariness, sickness, and trial, when he is tempted to doubt, fear, or panic in an emergency, when emotional stress or problems tend to overwhelm him, he can minister to himself by praying in the Spirit. The obvious importance of this cannot be gainsaid.

In one instance, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the ability to pray in tongues enabled a grief-stricken wife and mother to endure the shock of a traumatic experience which was so severe that at first it almost drove her to insanity. Through this tragic experience she learned the value and purpose of praying in tongues, and was able to enter into a spiritual place of rest which praying with the intellect did not give and could not provide.

She said, "My husband's recent death from cancer, after a prolonged illness, left me with the care of our son and daughter. While still recovering from my bereavement, I experienced another loss even more tragic. Returning home from church one evening, I failed to see my twelve year old son, who had stayed home that night. A short time later I opened the closet door and was horrified to find him hanging there strangled to death.
The shock, coming so soon after my husband's death, nearly drove me out of my mind for a while. However, I was able to remain relatively calm during the funeral, after which I felt compelled to excuse myself and get away from my relatives who were with me at home. All this pent-up grief and pain had to come out, and I knew that it was going to be released through the Spirit. Realizing my relatives would not understand if I began praying or travailing in tongues, and would probably think I was beside myself with grief, I left the house so I could be alone. As I walked and prayed in the Spirit, all my pent-up troubles and grief poured forth from my lips in other tongues as my spirit sought relief from this great burden.

"I continued walking and praying for some time, while all my pain and grief poured out as a great flood in other tongues. Then, after a while, I began to experience a great peace and assurance, and found that I was being strengthened spiritually. As I prayed in tongues, my heart commenced to rejoice and praise the Lord to such an extent that I had to cover my face with a scarf upon entering the house for fear that my relatives would think that I had lost my mind to find me rejoicing at such a time as this."

This illustrates perfectly how, through prayer in the Spirit, a
Spirit-filled believer was able to enter into the spiritual rest which God has provided for the Christian. God has made this supernatural rest available through the experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit; and that Christian is poor indeed who, because of pride of wrong teaching on the matter, allows Satan to rob him of the baptism in the Spirit, and this personal ministry to himself through prayer in the Spirit. Churches are filled with people who have failed to enter into their rest for the same reason Israel failed to enter into her rest--unbelief (Hebrews 3:18; I Corinthians 14:21).

Multitudes of Christians, because of their rejection of the baptism of the Spirit, will never know the spiritual rest that a Spirit filled Christians may experience, for example, in time of trial, and temptation, or when some crisis confronts them, or when their hearts are burdened or almost overwhelmed with grief. There are times when the Spirit-filled Christian cannot pray as he ought with the intellect because he is undergoing a physical attack. Satan invariably suggests the worst about the condition, but as the Christian prays in the Spirit, his mind is free from the enemy's attempts to assault with doubts and fears.

Frequently, when traveling on a plane or train with others who are drinking and smoking, and the air is filled with worldly conversation so that it is almost impossible to concentrate upon spiritual things in order to pray with the understanding, the Spirit-filled believer finds that he can close his eyes to all these distraction and relax as he enters into a spiritual rest by praying in the Spirit. When he is tired in both mind and body, and too weary to concentrate, the believer can pray with his spirit, for there is no weariness or reluctance in the Spirit. This is the significance of Jesus' words to His disciples who had fallen asleep when He had asked them to watch and pray, saying, "the spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41).

In such instances as these, as well as others, those without the baptism in the Holy Spirit, who pray only with the mind, or who pray when the circumstances are favorable generally cannot pray, and are unable to enter into rest. Many times we have had the privilege of seeing those who were confused and bewildered, or depressed and defeated, immediately transformed into radiant, joyful Christians upon receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit and entering into this glorious spiritual rest in the Lord as they began to speak in tongues. Truly, "this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing'' (Isaiah 28:12). Edited. Shared.
    To be Continued.

Lord willing, more will be posted soon. All glory to Jesus alone.

❤️ Lord willing, more will be posted soon. All glory to Jesus alone.

  • I was in Primary 5 when the mother of my childhood bossom friend died of breast cancer. I witnessed how his father spent enormous resources to save her life, but all to no avail. I was there for him at the period of his bereavement and mourning. I expressed compassion, empathy & sympathy for his family. Sense of humanity is so dear in my heart. Since then, the mystery of cancer often resonate in my mind & I often wonder about the risk factors and the mitigating factors because the reality is that every human being has carcinogenic tendency. The risk factors is what differs in each one of us. Cancer is a plague to human lives. We can conquer cancer with a unity of purpose.

    When Your Dream Dies

Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure. Job 14:1-2

“Dear Dr. Sala, where was God when my dream died? I thought I could trust Him. Now I’m not sure!” No, you were not the one who penned those words. Chances are, though, sometime or another, that thought has risen from your troubled heart, whether you voiced it aloud or just you thought about it.

A friend of mine faced that issue when his wife needed surgery and the doctors said, “There is a chance that she might not make it.” She didn’t. “People told me that the Lord had revealed to them she would be OK,” he later recounted with anger. His dream died along with his wife.

Ruth’s dream died after her husband took retirement, and the extended vacation that they had planned together for years never happened. “If only I hadn’t asked him to dig the garden,” she lamented, thinking that it was the exertion of spading the roses that really caused his heart to fail.

The death of a dream is never an easy thing to deal with, especially when you think that God in His might and power could have made your dream come true. Long ago, Job struggled with this issue. He lost his children, his home, his business, and the love of his wife, who said, “Job, just curse God and die!” His dream was shattered. But he neither cursed God nor blamed Him for the death of his dream.

When your dream dies, you can hold on to God and find Him a refuge and strength when your world comes tumbling down. But how do you do it?

Guideline #1: Vent your emotions without having to place blame for what happened on anyone. The doctor made a mistake. The drunk shouldn’t have been on the road. The prescription should have been in a safe spot. The death of a dream doesn’t have to be the end of your life. Harsh words hurled in anger won’t restore your loss. Revenge is shallow payment for seeing your dream wither and die.

Guideline #2: Strive to hold on what you know in your heart is true. No, you didn’t plan on what happened. Nobody did. The fact that God doesn’t shield you from the bad things that happen in a broken world doesn’t mean that you are not loved, that you’re not esteemed, you are not valued in His sight. Job cried out, “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him” (Job 13:15). That’s tough faith. It was a decision to hold on to what he knew is true—that God is a faithful God who walks with us through the dark hour.

Guideline #3: Turn to God instead of turning on God. “When I am afraid, I will trust in you,” said David. No, others don’t know the depths of your pain or loss. I have heard literally hundreds of people including pastors and bereavement counselors say, “I never knew how tough it was until I had to go through this experience myself.” It’s also true that you never taste of the grace of God so deeply as when you face the darkest night of your soul.

Guideline #4: Focus on the future, looking beyond your dream to the reality of heaven. OK, you missed that six-weeks-on-the-road vacation that you had talked about for years. You won’t be able to buy the new car because your stock collapsed. Your dream won’t be realized, but at some point, you have to look beyond that to the reality of spending eternity in the presence of God with the one you love.

When our dreams ebb and fade, God is there and we can still find His presence which sustains and strengthens and helps us to go on. Thank God you can hold on to Him when your dream dies. Many have done it, friend, and you can too. Going on is the only path to the future.

NOTE.- Not alone for Mary and her friends did Jesus weep. Looking down through the ages, He saw the tears and the heartaches which death would bring to mankind in this sin-stricken world. His heart was touched with human woe, and He wept with those that wept.

    23. Whatever may come, what blessed assurance has every one who loves God?

    28. In what respect is the reaping of God's people to differ from their sowing?

"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." Ps. 126:5,6.

SOMETIME when all life's lessons have been learned,

And sun and moon forevermore have set,

The things that our weak judgments here have spurned,

The things o'er which we grieved with lashes wet,

Will flash before us, out of life's dark night,

As stars shine most in deepest tints of blue,

And we shall see how all God's ways were right,

And how what seemed reproof was love most true.

    -MAY RILEY SMITH.

BE of good cheer! I know sometime

Life's song will run in perfect rhyme.

Somewhere, I know, all things will be

    Attuned to perfect harmony.

    Sometime, somewhere, each sad refrain

Shall be its own surcease of pain.

    The compensation love will send

    Will be in bringing friend to friend;

And all the heartaches that we bore,

In God's good time will be no more.

    -ROBERT LEE WALDEN.

    A Note Of Joy
This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness

    Ecclesiastes 2:24b-26a
The true message of this book is that enjoyment is a gift of God. There is nothing in possessions, in material goods, in money; there is nothing in people themselves that can enable them to keep enjoying the things they do. But it is possible to have enjoyment all your life if you take it from the hand of God. It is given to those who please God.

Wisdom and knowledge have been mentioned before as things you can get from under the sun, but they will not continue. To have added to them the ingredient of pleasure, of continual delight unceasing throughout the whole of life, you must take it from the hand of God. The person who pleases God is given the gift of joy.

It is wonderful to realize that this book teaches us that God wants us to have joy. In his first letter to Timothy, Paul said, [He] richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17). It is God's desire and intent that all the good things of life that are mentioned here should contribute to people's enjoyment; but only, says this Searcher, if you understand that enjoyment does not come from things or people. It is an added gift of God, and only those who please God can find it.

How do you please God? In many places in Scripture we are told that without faith it is impossible to please God. It is faith that pleases Him, belief that He is there and that everything in life comes from His hand. Underscore in your minds the word all. Pain, sorrow, bereavement, disappointment, as well as gladness, happiness, and joy—all these things are gifts of God. When we see life in those terms, any and every element of life can have its measure of joy—even sorrow, pain, and grief. These things were given to us to enjoy.

This is also the message of Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. It is also the message of Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Father, all things come from Your hands. I thank You that You sent Your Son that I might have Your joy within me.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: ⏤ Philippians 3:20

The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. ⏤ E.M. Bounds

O God, most merciful—bless us this morning. Lay Your hand upon us with a Father’s blessing. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be upon us and in us all day long. Let Your word dwell in our hearts richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing us. May it be so deeply rooted in us that it keeps us from sin. May the power of Your Spirit rest upon us throughout this day, cleansing and purifying our thoughts, feelings, and all our inner life, and compelling us to walk in holiness in all we say and do.

Please guide us today, O God, and keep us in all our experiences. Guard us from carelessness. Let us not drift away from the holy truths we have been taught, nor from Jesus Christ our Savior. Let us not become entangled in the affairs of this world in a way that causes us to lose any of the sanctity of our lives. Though we are in the world, let us not be of it. Help us to maintain a godly life amid all that is ungodly. May our citizenship always be visibly in Heaven, even though we dwell on this earth. May we be true pilgrims, looking for a city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Let us not love this world as if we were going to stay in it forever.

Grant a personal blessing to each one in our family. Our needs are different. Tenderly care for those of us who are weak. Shelter any of us who will be exposed to temptation today, and let us not fall. If any unforeseen trouble or sorrow lies in our path, prepare us for it, that we may not be caught off guard and fall into sin. May we each carry out into the world a power of love and grace that will bless everyone we meet. We ask all this for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

*In life, it is very easy to take some things for granted when things seem to be going well for us. Unfortunately, many people, even Christians fail to realise how the mercies and love of God have beautified their lives hitherto. Even when faced with the most life-threatening situations, the sweet psalmist of Israel, David, made gratitude to God and thanksgiving the hallmark of his life and career.*

*Our text presents David's prayer of thanksgiving as an example for us. He had won all battles and God had given him rest. He had built a palace for himself among other blessings. Although he was not happy that his plan to build a house for God was not approved by God, David, however, drew comfort from the promise of God that He had established his kingdom forever and that his son would build the house.*

*In appreciation of God's goodness for establishing his dynasty, David poured his heart with a profound sense of thanksgiving unto Him. David believed that the battles he won were through God's efforts. He noted that God raised him from a very low estate to a great preferment; He gave him success and victory over his enemies and crowned him as king in place of Saul. God not only gave him power and dominion in Israel but also bestowed on him honour and reputation among other nations. He then prayed for the performance of God's other promises.*

*As we reflect on the journey so far, this season serves as a fitting moment to raise our Ebenezer to God and show worthy gratitude to Him. We should speak highly and honourably of the Lord's favours to us. We should build our faith and hope upon the sureness of God's promises. He knows our needs and the best to give to us. Ours is to anchor our faith on His promises, with the assurance that He will never fail.*

    3. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
    MONDAY DECEMBER 1, 2025.
    "CHRIST-LIKE-NESS"

‘We share in His sufferings…that we may also share in His glory.’ Romans 8:17 NIV

GOD’S NUMBER-ONE goal for you isn’t comfort, it’s Christ-like-ness! And to reach it you’ll have to undergo some of the same experiences that Jesus went through—like being misunderstood by your family, ridiculed by church members, rejected by the world, and disappointed by the people who say they love you. The Bible says we’ve been called to ‘share in his sufferings…that we may also share in his glory.’ So how do we do this? In three ways: 1) Stay focused on God’s plan, not your pain. ‘Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith’ (Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT). Corrie ten Boom said, ‘If you look within, you’ll feel depressed, if you look without, you’ll be distressed, but if you look to Christ, you’ll be at rest.’ 2) Don’t give in to short-term thinking. Look at Jesus, ‘Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross’ (v. 2 NLT). Keep your eye on the finish line. You don’t get the trophy until the race is over, so make up your mind to ‘stay the course’ and finish strong. 3) Start praying the right way. When you understand that God’s objective is to make you more like Christ, you’ll start praying fewer ‘comfort me’ prayers and more ‘conform me’ ones. Instead of asking, ‘Why me, Lord?’ you’ll ask, ‘What do You want me to learn, Lord?’ James writes, ‘Let the process go on until…you have become men [and women] of mature character’ (James 1:4 PHPS). That’s how you become more Christ-like.

Tragedy is a disastrous event especially one involving great loss or injury. Job experienced it in different ways - loss of servants, sheep, sons and daughters.*

*For you in particular, you need to know that there are degrees of tragedy for young people. It could be examination failure, bereavement, denial of legitimate rights, distortion of life's dream, financial instability, trauma, and ill-health.*

*Inability to initiate appropriate strategies to triumph over tragedies has caused loss of lives to many youths. Some resort to unbelief, blasphemy, murmuring, and so on when they face challenges of life. Job did not blame God but sought God's face in prayer and maintained the language of faith as he confessed: "blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1:21).*

*To triumph over tragedy, you must make Jesus your Lord and personal Saviour, develop spiritual stamina through studying of and meditating on God's Word, and maintaining a righteous life.*

    1. Morning Prayer

Thou wilt keep Moses Ishaku in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. ⏤ Isaiah 26:3

Trust the past to God's mercy, the present to God's love, and the future to God's providence. ⏤ St. Augustine

Father, days come and go, bringing change and decay, but You remain the same forever. A thousand years in Your sight are like a single day. With You, there is no past or future; all time is present to You. Yet in our small lives, we need daily blessings. The memories of our past sorrows cast shadows on our present, and our fears for the future often cast shadows on our path.

We are grateful that You see and know everything—past, present, and future—and that we can safely leave it all in Your hands. Help us to live faithfully in this little day that is ours, leaving the past and future with You, without worrying. So, we ask for Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, enabling us to be true and faithful in all our duties.

We ask You, O Lord, to give us the strength and wisdom we need for today’s responsibilities and experiences. Let nothing surprise or dishearten us. Hold our hand through every situation. Give us wisdom to answer every question and make every decision in a way that pleases You. Strengthen us to resist temptation, no matter how subtly it approaches. Increase Your love within us so that we may be patient with everyone we meet, compassionate toward those who are sorrowful, cheerful with those who are discouraged, and helpful to those who are weak.

Send us out to do Your work so that everything we do today is for You. Breathe upon us as we wait here in Your presence and give us Your blessing as our Father. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

. . . ye might have life through his name.
    —John 20:31

“Is life worth living?” To scores of people life has ceased to be worth living. To all of you I have good news. God did not create you to be a defeated, discouraged, frustrated, wandering soul, seeking in vain for peace of heart and peace of mind. He has bigger plans for you. He has a larger orb and a greater life for you.

The answer to your problem, however great, is as near as your Bible, as simple as first-grade arithmetic, and as real as your heartbeat. Upon the authority of God’s Word, I tell you that Christ is the answer to every baffling perplexity which plagues mankind. In Him is found the cure for care, a balm for bereavement, a healing for our hurts, and a sufficiency for our insufficiency.

    Prayer for the day

Teach me, Lord, as today I read Your Word, that the life You would have me live is one of joy and fulfillment.

    b. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
    TUESDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2025.
    "ARE YOU BEARING FRUIT?"

‘He came seeking fruit on it and found none.’ Luke 13:6 NKJV

JESUS SAID: ‘A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’’ But he answered and said to him, ‘‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilise it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down’’’ (vv. 6-9 NKJV). How long have you been serving the Lord? What are the tangible ‘fruits’ of your service to Him? We’re not all capable of the same level of productivity. Jesus taught that some of us have thirtyfold potential, some sixtyfold, and some a hundredfold (Matthew13:8). It’s your faith and your gifting that determine your level of productivity. For example, God doesn’t expect a ‘thirtyfolder’ to produce a sixtyfold harvest. He’s not an unreasonable taskmaster. But if this parable teaches us anything, it’s that God won’t let you just sit on your hands and do nothing. The words, ‘cut it down’, are a sobering reminder of this. God is patient. He will work with you year after year in an attempt to bring you to the place of spiritual maturity where you can fulfil the purpose for which He brought you into His kingdom. But if after all His efforts you refuse to produce fruit, He will go elsewhere and find what He’s looking for. The main thing is, in the end, God’s purposes will be fulfilled!

*GODLY STRATEGIC PLANS AGAINST SATANIC PLOTS*

    *TEXT:* NEHEMIAH 4:13-20.

13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.
16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.
17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.
18 For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.
19 And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another.
20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.

*Timeless Truth:*_"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices"_ (2 Corinthians 2:11).

    *INTRODUCTION*

The fact that human demeanor, either good or bad, can be predicted and explained psychologically is an indication that there is a spirit behind the actions for which man is under influence to be subject to. The spirit behind all evils is embedded in human nature and it is the nature of Satan; while the Spirit behind all actions that are truly good is after the nature of God under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The plots of the enemy against the returning Israel is quite explainable and it is nothing new because the nature of the depraved and the corrupted man manifests the same way in all ages. It is the nature of the devil. When there is a good thing happening to others, that nature has the tendency to kick and oppose. Bitter attacks and opposition can come through the household of faith. This is the most subtle and dangerous kind of attack because one may not be expecting it. It can also come from hallowed relationships like husband and wife, and also household of birth. Jesus said, *"a man's foes shall be they of his own household"* (Matthew 10:36). It can come as a result of hatred of neighbours and acquaintances while hallucinations of strangers who might not even have come into contact with you may be the source of dangerous and cruel attacks. The text has to do with the hateful and deadly plan of attack due to the hatred of neighbours against the people of God. The response of Nehemiah shows much wisdom which believers and the Church of God must learn from.

    *1. Satanic Plots*

    a. Israel, after 70 years in captivity, was legally and lawfully returned to their land by the ruling empire and authority of that day. Unlike other surrounding nations, their city was insecure and they thought it wise, under the leadership of Nehemiah, to secure themselves by building walls round the city with due permission of the reigning empire. This initiative made Sanballat and Tobiah, with some other people, to plot how to stop that move even if blood had to be shed. That plot leaked and Nehemiah took effective preventive and protective measures which eventually, neutralized their plans. *"And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work"*.
    b. Why were these neighbours very bitter and breathing violence against the building protective and security walls for their city since they also had it for their cities? Could they claim to be good neighbours? This heart and actions of bitter hatred and violent envy against people who are making progress will only stop when Satan is removed from circulation. As long as Satan is still in circulation and man still possesses some or full measure of the nature of Satan, expect cruel hatred and attacks from expected and unexpected sources. Never take anything or anybody for granted. Thus, Jesus told His disciples, *"be wise as serpents and be harmless as doves"* (Matthew 10:16). Love all like Jesus loved all and beware of man and walked with them in wisdom like Jesus did.

    *Question*

If you are a person of destiny, are you aware that there will always be satanic plots against your life and great destiny?

    *2. Strategic Plans*

    a. There is a great lesson to learn from Nehemiah as a believer and as the Church of Christ. Nehemiah adopted a double approach to security measures. He adopted both the spiritual and physical measures in neutralizing the adversaries. While adopting these methods, he did not stop the work knowing fully well that that was what the adversaries wanted to accomplish. He did not give them any chance to fulfil their purpose. *"I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows"*. He was wise enough to know their instruments of warfare and he adequately prepared for it so that they would not just kill his people like fools. We must know the devices of Satan and know how to neutralise him. He encouraged his people because there is little or nothing that the enemy can do against determined and courageous people. Also, there is little that discouraged and downhearted people can do against their adversaries even when the adversaries are weak. *"And I looked...and said unto the nobles, ...Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses"*. He asked half of the people to work, because the work must not stop, and asked half of them to hold weapons of war. *"And from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons"*.
    b. Nehemiah was known to be a man of prayer. However, he did not only appeal to the spiritual weapon of prayer. He balanced it with strategic plans that will neutralize the adversaries while ensuring that the work was not stopped. Attacks from adversaries and challenges should not be an excuse for passivity or idleness in the service of God or else Satan would have achieved his goal. Also, prayer, as important as it is, must not be taken as a substitute for strategic plans that will glorify Christ and neutralize the enemies. In fighting against the enemies of the gospel, there must be spiritual and physically proven, well thought out plans since God has not created us to be robots.

    *Question*

How wise are you in combining your spiritual and physical action approach to the challenges from the adversaries?

    *3. Saints Perfection*

    a. Their spiritual and physical strategies and counter plans would not have achieved much were it not that they were united. *"And the rulers were behind all the house of Judah"*. Everybody cooperated with Nehemiah and did his part without complaints or disunity. *"They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon"*. They all obeyed the instructions of Nehemiah because the instructions were borne out of the wisdom of God. He was not only a man of faith, prayers and strategies, he was also a minister of the Word using the Word of God to strengthen the people. *"Our God shall fight for us"*. A true christian leader is always equipped with the inspired and relevant Word of God for the people.
    b. This text can also be applied for saints' responsibility in building the broken wall of righteousness, prayer, holiness and obedience to the Word of God. All should be involved and the strategies must be well and prayerfully thought out.

    *Question*

Which broken wall in your church and nation are you actively involved in building?

    *Prayer Points*

1.Father, give me wisdom and grace to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves in dealing with all forms of adversaries .
2.Lord God, awaken Your Church to the ministry of building spiritual broken walls in the Church of Christ.
3.Lord, give me discernment to know the devises of Satan against my life and the right solution to tackle him always .
4.Lord, expose the subtle adversaries of Your people and equip them to conquer all of them .

    Text: Psalm 78.
    Message:
In his classic work Knowing God, J. I. Packer points out the difference between knowing about God and knowing God. He understood that it was possible for someone to have sound theology, know the Bible well, be involved in ministry, and yet not really have a relationship with God.

One way we can know God’s character is by reflecting on how He has related to His people. The psalmist in today’s reading recounts God’s history with His people so that the next generation would “put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds” (vv. 6–7). The goal is not just to learn history, but to trust in the God revealed by it. The psalmist reflects on God’s deliverance of Israel from Egypt. He reminds them how God defeated the Egyptian army and provided for His people in the wilderness (vv. 12–16). Instead of being grateful, Israel rebelled and complained (vv. 17–19). In His grace, God continued to provide for their needs and judged them for their sins (vv. 20–31). These acts were both designed to cause repentance. Yet, Israel continued to rebel. They grieved God again and again. In response to their ungratefulness and disloyalty, God showed Himself to be slow to anger, merciful, and forgiving (v. 38).

The psalmist reflects on the time period of the judges and early chapters of Samuel. He recounts God’s continued faithfulness and Israel’s obstinacy. God raised up David as king to serve as a faithful shepherd (vv. 65–72). On this side of history, we know David’s line also failed to be obedient, which led to exile. Yet, God promised that a Davidic king would reign on the throne of Israel forever (2 Sam. 7:11–16).
Good morning, brethren. 1. Do you pray in the morning? Our morning prayer focuses on "Trusting God's eternal nature." 2. Do you know that life is worth living? Are you bearing fruit? 3. Do you know Godly strategic plans against satanic plots? 4. Do you know God? To know more, read the message below: 1. Morning Prayer Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. ⏤ Isaiah 26:3 Trust the past to God's mercy, the present to God's love, and the future to God's providence. ⏤ St. Augustine Father, days come and go, bringing change and decay, but You remain the same forever. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/44/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion. 2a. Skip to content Rev. Billy Graham Books Post navigation Previous Post Previous Stumbling in Darkness b. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY TUESDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2025. "ARE YOU BEARING FRUIT?" ‘He came seeking fruit on it and found none.’ Luke 13:6 NKJV JESUS SAID: ‘A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. *INTRODUCTION* The fact that human demeanor, either good or bad, can be predicted and explained psychologically is an indication that there is a spirit behind the actions for which man is under influence to be subject to. *1. Satanic Plots* a. *Question* If you are a person of destiny, are you aware that there will always be satanic plots against your life and great destiny? *2. Strategic Plans* a. *Question* How wise are you in combining your spiritual and physical action approach to the challenges from the adversaries? *3.
