  • Moving Forward After Deception

"And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me." — Genesis 31:7

Jacob did not minimize what happened. He acknowledged the painful reality of deception. It was not a single misunderstanding or isolated disappointment. His wages were changed ten times—a repeated pattern of broken trust, uncertainty, and injustice.

Deception carries weight. It can consume years, alter plans, strain relationships, and leave deep emotional and spiritual wounds. It often raises difficult questions:

How did I not see it?
Could I have done something differently?

Scripture does not pretend these experiences are light or insignificant.

Yet Jacob's testimony does not end with "ten times." It ends with "but God."

"...but God suffered him not to hurt me."

This is the heart of someone who has been previously deceived yet continues to praise the Lord. Such a person does not become defined by the untoward experience, nor remain imprisoned by bitterness or regret. Instead, he recognizes that God's sovereign hand was present even during the season of deception.

The scars may remain, and the lessons may be costly, but God's preserving grace proves greater than the deception itself. What others intended for harm did not ultimately prevent God's purpose from being fulfilled.

Rather than endlessly reliving the interruption, he moves forward to what the Lord had already prepared before that intermission. The enemy may delay, distract, or deceive, but he cannot overturn God's purposes for those who trust in Him.

This does not mean ignoring the lessons of the past. Scripture repeatedly calls believers to test every spirit, examine every teaching, and grow in discernment. But biblical discernment is meant to lead us closer to Christ, not into lifelong suspicion, fear, or despair.

    A grateful heart says:

"I was deceived, but the Lord did not abandon me."

    A humble heart says:

"I have learned to depend more fully on God's Word."

    A hopeful heart says:

"The Lord's purposes for my life are still before me."

Our testimony, then, is not merely that deception existed, but that the Lord Jesus Christ remained faithful through it all. He preserves His people, matures them through trials, and leads them onward in His perfect time.

Like Jacob, we can honestly acknowledge the pain of being deceived—even ten times—while joyfully declaring:

"But God suffered him not to hurt me."

The final word belongs not to deception, but to the faithfulness of God.

  • wait on God
Waiting on the Lord is not wasted time; it is preparation time.

When you feel stuck in a season of waiting, it can be easy to lose heart. However, biblical waiting is an active, hopeful pause that builds your spiritual endurance..

Why Waiting on the Lord Matters :It shifts your focus: It moves your eyes from your problems to God's power.

It renews your strength: Like an eagle resting before flight, waiting restores your energy.

It aligns your timing: God sees the whole map; He moves when the time is exactly right..

It protects you: Sometimes a "wait" is actually God shielding you from an unseen danger

.A Prayer for the Waiting Season

Dear God,Some days, this waiting feels heavy and long. My heart feels anxious, and I want to rush ahead.

Please help me to rest in Your perfect timing today.Give me the strength to stay patient.

Fill my mind with peace when doubt creeps in. I choose to believe that Your plans for me are good, even when I cannot see the next step.

    Strengthen my heart right now.
Remind me that You are working behind the scenes. In Jesus' name, Amen.

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - MONDAY, 17TH AUGUST, 2026.*

*I WILL WAIT FOR MY CHANGE TO COME*

    Scripture:
“If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” — Job 14:14 (KJV).

*Reflection – Your Waiting Season Is Not Your Final Season:*
Job 14:14 expresses the heart of someone passing through a difficult season but refusing to give up hope. Job understood that life has appointed seasons, and he chose to wait for his change.

There are moments when we pray and do not immediately see the answer. There are seasons when progress appears slow, doors seem closed, and circumstances do not look the way we expected. But delay does not mean denial, and a difficult season does not mean that God has abandoned us.

Today, God is reminding you that your present condition is not necessarily your final destination. Continue to trust Him. Continue to pray. Continue to work faithfully. Continue to believe.

Your appointed time is in God's hands, and He is able to bring change when the time is right.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that my waiting shall not be wasted. I will wait upon the Lord with faith, patience, and confidence, knowing that He is working even when I cannot see what He is doing.

I declare that my change shall come. Every season of stagnation, delay, disappointment, limitation, and frustration shall give way to a new season according to God's perfect purpose for my life.

Today, I receive grace to remain faithful while I wait. I shall not abandon my faith because of temporary difficulties. I shall not allow disappointment to make me forget God's promises.

I declare that the Lord is preparing me for the next chapter of my life. He is developing my character, strengthening my faith, increasing my wisdom, and preparing me for opportunities that are aligned with His purpose.

I proclaim a new season over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May God bring renewal wherever there has been weariness, restoration wherever there has been loss, and progress wherever there has been stagnation.

I declare that every legitimate prayer I have committed into God's hands shall receive His perfect response. Where God says yes, may the door open. Where He says wait, may I receive grace to wait. Where He says no, may I have the wisdom to trust His better plan.

Today, I refuse to be defined by my past. My previous failures shall not determine my future. My disappointments shall not cancel my destiny. My mistakes shall not prevent God from accomplishing His purpose in my life.

I declare that new opportunities shall arise according to God's will. New strength shall come upon me. New ideas shall flow. New doors shall open. New testimonies shall emerge.

I proclaim that my hope in God shall remain alive. Like Job, I shall continue to trust the Lord even in difficult seasons. My faith shall survive the waiting period, and my testimony shall glorify God.

    My waiting has a purpose.
    My season will change.
    My hope is alive.
    My God is faithful.
    My change shall come!

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
Begin with thanksgiving: Thank God for sustaining you through every season of your life.

Read Job 14:1–14: Reflect on Job's perseverance and his decision to wait on God.

Declare: “I will wait for my appointed time; my change shall come according to God's perfect will.”

Surrender your timeline: Give God your expectations, deadlines, and unanswered prayers.

Keep working faithfully: Do not allow waiting to become an excuse for inactivity. Continue doing what God has placed in your hands.

Encourage someone: Remind someone who is going through a difficult season that their present situation is not the end of their story.

End with praise: Thank God in advance for the change, restoration, and testimony He is preparing.

    *Prayer:*
    Heavenly Father,
Thank You because You are the God who holds my times and seasons in Your hands. Thank You for sustaining me through every difficult and uncertain season.

Lord, give me grace to wait patiently for my appointed time. When I become tired, strengthen me. When I become discouraged, renew my hope. When I cannot understand what You are doing, help me to trust Your wisdom.

Bring change into every area of my life that needs Your intervention. Bring restoration where there has been loss, progress where there has been stagnation, healing where there has been brokenness, and renewed strength where there has been weariness.

Bless my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. Let Your perfect will be accomplished in every area of my life.

Help me not to compare my journey with the journey of others. Teach me to trust Your timing and remain faithful to You while I wait.

I believe that my story is not over. My season will change. My hope is in You.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

    *Blessing for today:*
May the Lord strengthen you in every waiting season. May He give you patience without frustration, faith without fear, and hope without disappointment.

May every season of delay turn into a season of divine fulfillment. May the Lord renew your strength, restore your joy, establish your plans according to His will, and bring beautiful changes into every area of your life.

May your family, ministry, work, business, studies, and destiny experience fresh grace and divine advancement (Amen).

The season may be challenging, but God is still faithful. Keep trusting. Keep praying. Keep working. Keep believing.

    Your waiting has a purpose.
    Your faith will not fail.
    Your season will change.
    Your testimony shall come.

“I WILL WAIT... TILL MY CHANGE COME.” — JOB 14:14

    Living Expectantly
My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. Psalm 62:5 (NKJV)

Living expectantly is faith on tiptoe. It means believing with God that life is worth living.
Your expectation puts a demand on His presence and pulls virtue out of Him. If you have no expectation, your faith has nothing to rest on, and God can do no more than you exhibit faith for.

The two enemies of expectation are self-satisfaction and distractions. Self-satisfaction alerts God that we don’t want another touch. God will not invade the small world of the self-satisfied. Distractions are traitors who keep us in bondage to the unimportant. Distracted saints live with no expectation towards God because their time is occupied with lesser things. Expectation however is the key to the move of the Holy Spirit among the saints. Those who expect nothing never leave disappointed. So, be excitedly and hopefully expectant always. This is your day.

Wisdom Fountain: "To live expectantly is to walk with your eyes open to miracles, treating every ordinary moment as a doorway to the extraordinary."
Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your wonderful promises and the greatness of Your faithfulness. Open my eyes to see Your hand at work in the everyday moments of my life and empower my faith to look for Your goodness with excitement and joy. Align my desires with Your perfect will and strengthen me to wait with patience and an active, hopeful spirit in Jesus’ name.

“Ash-pe-naz, in your honest judgment, do you think I will get out of this room?” the sick king asked in a shaky, sickly voice.

“Take some water, my Lord," Ashpenaz responded. After a while Ashpenaz continued, “You will not only survive this ailment but live for many years to come. You have been faithful in your service to the people and have not failed in your commitment to the gods, and they cannot abandon you now at your hour of need.” He ended on a note that connoted confidence.

“Nothing could be farther from the fact,” said the king in agreement. “However, ‘Is that the truth?'" He asked rhetorically and continued, “I have an army of 12,000 soldiers headed by my venturesome son and a shrine filled with gods from various nations. However, can any of these gods or soldiers stop the angel of death from striking at his time?"

Each of his breaths was deep and heavy and seemed to be his last. He moved his body to sit in a slant position while resting his back on his pillow.

“Ashpenaz, it’s good to be motivational and hopeful, but let’s face reality. I am going to die any moment from now, and you know that’s true," the king said unapologetically.

He took a deeper breath and continued, “You have been loyal and faithful to me and the kingdom; you are the most trustworthy servant in my realm. That’s why I want you to listen to me carefully as I commit my last request to you.”

Ashpenaz moved his chair closer and listened with keen interest. “Ashpenaz!” the king called emphatically with audible stress in his speech.

“At your service, my lord,” he replied faithfully. “I am handing over my son, Nebuchadnezzar, unto your wise guidance. I want you to be a father to him. I know he’ll make an excellent king, but he’ll do better under your watch."

"He had been on the field from his tender age and knows a great deal about battles and conquests well enough, but he hardly spends time with the Senate and the people. I want you to advise him on kingdom matters and manage-nage-ment, and also summon the senate and the royal household. I want to have a parting word with them before…"

He was interrupted by his cough. Ashpenaz offered him another cup of water.
Having taken the cup of water, the king tried to continue his words, but the cough watered down his strength to speak further. He coughed the entire evening and all night long; the cough persisted.

As his custom was, Ashpenaz wasted no time in carrying out instructions; immediately, he sent out letters to each member of the senate through the Heart Watchers. A body that was once an infamous cult group that was lately drafted into the Shinar’s government as a recognized system by the king, in replacement of the popular palace messengers, on the advice of his son.

The Heart Watchers were anonymous; it was made up of 10 ninjas and 15 secret military agents who were trained as couriers, for espionage and assassinations—it was headed by a captain.

They were contracted only for clandestine operations and were known to operate in high secrecy, with an unbroken record of not leaving a single known trace during their operation since their inception. A popular impression about its members is that they were the reincarnation of past war legends.

Nebuchadnezzar proved himself worthy of this appointment by forcefully advancing the nation’s territory. He practically transformed the military by introducing novel intelligent hierarchy and idealistic strategies to the Shinar Army.

One of the new innovations was a list of 10 decrees made to be read out loud to the soldiers each morning. At first, the soldiers were critical of his far-fetched methodologies, but the numerous far-reaching successes that resulted from his mode of operation were rewarded by an unreserved vote of confidence from them to him.

The new commander was not only brilliant and tactful, but also courageous, aggressive, and composed. He fought day and night, year in and year out, dethroning generals and rulers for the sake of his state.

Prior to his era, the soldiers had been fighting with manageable morale. But his ever high spirit boosted the soldiers’ spirits, and this presented him before the soldiers, including seasoned senior officers who were once his trainers, as a worthy role model.

As a matter of fact, every soldier and officer under his command willingly submitted their loyalty to him; he was indeed a king in the making. They now refer to him as a king even though his father, King Nebopolassar, was still on the throne.

His father found no fault in this because everything had been working just as he had planned it. He knew he could have a long, sound sleep as long as his son was in charge.

The past few months had been tough for him; he had been diagnosed with sibtu sa napisti, an ailment akin to tuberculosis, which had resulted from his carefree lifestyle even though it was believed to be caused by wicked spirits. Heaven knows that he was an addicted cannabis smoker, an unrepentant alcoholic and a hard drug patriot in the noon of his life.

He had not sat on the throne seat for about five months in a row but had been confined to his bed with Ashpenaz sitting beside him to constantly offer him hopeful words, convey the king’s intentions and instructions while intimating him on the state of the nation.

By the way, the king’s private room was built inside the palace, and only the king, the chief of staff, and the heir to the throne were allowed into this room; it was called the Eternal Portal. The room was supposed to be the bridge between the physical realm and the spiritual realm.

It was one of the national monuments of Shinar; it had a spacious section where tombs were built for dead kings. Whenever a king’s ailment was tending towards death, he would be moved into a compartment of this room. If he survives the sickness, he will return to continue the kingdom business, but if he dies, he will be buried in the king's sepulcher.

Kaptain Lamblion JC

WHY THE PRODIGAL SON FED THE SWINE

"So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything."- Luke 15:15–16

When Jesus told the parable of the Prodigal Son, His audience would have gasped at Luke 15:15. For a young Jewish man, taking a job feeding pigs wasn't just a tough break or a temporary career setback—it was absolute, total degradation. Under the Mosaic Law, swine were ceremonial unclean animals (Leviticus 11:7). To handle them, live among them, and crave their food meant touching the absolute bottom of spiritual, social, and cultural ruin.

How did a beloved son, who started with a full inheritance and infinite potential, end up in a muddy pigpen?

The job of swine feeding wasn't an accident. It was the natural destination of a specific spiritual trajectory.

    Distance Distorts Identity.
The young son asked for his inheritance early, effectively wishing his father dead, and took off for a "far country." In that distant land, he squandered his wealth in wild living.

When you distance yourself from the Father's house, you gradually lose your sense of identity. As long as the money lasted, the son thought he was the life of the party. But when the famine hit and his pockets ran dry, the world showed its true colors. The "far country" never values you as a son; it only values what you bring to the table. When your resources are gone, the world will happily assign you to the mud.

    Pride Prefers Self-Reliance Over Surrender.
Notice what the son did when the famine struck: “He went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country.”

Even in severe need, his instinct was self-preservation, not repentance. He didn't say, "I should go back to my father." He said, "I can fix this myself; I'll get a job."

Sometimes God allows our self-reliance to exhaust itself. The pigpen became necessary because the son's pride was still driving the bus. He had to reach a point where his best efforts yielded nothing but swine food before he was willing to look home.

    Hunger Exposes False Pleasures.
The text notes a heartbreaking detail: "He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything."

The husk pods of the carob tree were coarse, barely digestible fodder used for livestock. Sin always promises a feast, but it leaves you desperate for literal garbage. The very things that once repulsed him were now things he envied. The swine feeding job was the ultimate mirror showing him what his choices had yielded: empty pods that could never satisfy a human soul.

The Turning Point: "He Came to Himself."

The story doesn't end in the mud. Verse 17 contains four of the most hopeful words in Scripture: "When he came to himself..."

The pigpen served a divine purpose. It was the instrument that broke through his delusion. In the silence of the field, surrounded by unclean animals, the illusion shattered. He realized:

The world's famine could not be cured by the world's jobs.

Even the hired servants in his father's house had more than enough to eat.

He was made for sonship, not swine feeding.

The pigpen was the place where rock bottom became the solid foundation upon which he rebuilt his relationship with his father.

    1. Where are you looking for fulfillment? Are you trying to satisfy a soul-hunger with "carob pods"—things that were never designed to truly feed you?

    2. Are you relying on self-preservation instead of grace?

Is there an area of your life where you are trying to "hire yourself out" to fix a problem, rather than bringing it to the Father in surrender?

    3. Recognizing the Father’s heart: The moment the son turned around, the father ran to meet him—not with a lecture about swine, but with a robe, a ring, and a celebration.

"Father, forgive me for the times I wander into distant places, seeking life outside of Your presence. Thank You that when my self-reliance fails and I find myself in the mud, You don't abandon me there. Give me the wisdom to recognize when I am trying to fill my heart with things that cannot satisfy. Grant me the humility to turn around, knowing that Your grace is always ready to welcome me home. In Jesus' name, Amen."

  • John 3:16: The One Verse That Changed the World

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16 (KJV)

If someone asked, “Can you explain the whole Christian faith in one sentence?” many Christians would point to John 3:16. It is one of the most quoted verses in history, translated into hundreds of languages, displayed in stadiums, printed in millions of Bibles, and memorized by children and adults alike. Yet despite its popularity, it is often read so quickly that its depth is overlooked.

This verse is part of a conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus, a respected Jewish teacher who came to Jesus at night searching for answers. Nicodemus knew religion, Scripture, and tradition, but Jesus showed him that knowing about God is not the same as knowing God. Jesus explained that every person needs a spiritual rebirth—a new life that only God can give.

    Then comes John 3:16.

The first words, “For God so loved…”, reveal the starting point of the gospel. Christianity does not begin with human beings trying to earn God’s approval. It begins with God taking the first step toward us. His love is not based on our success, our morality, or our achievements. He loved us while we were still sinners, broken and unable to save ourselves.

Notice that the verse says God loved “the world.” In the Bible, this does not mean God approves of every action or lifestyle. Rather, it means His offer of salvation is extended to people from every nation, background, and social class. No one is beyond the reach of God’s grace if they come to Him through Christ.

The next phrase is perhaps the greatest act of love ever recorded:

”…that He gave His only begotten Son.”

Love is measured by what it is willing to give. God did not merely send advice, another prophet, or a list of rules. He gave His Son. Jesus willingly entered our world, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. The cross was not an accident; it was the center of God’s plan of redemption.

    The verse then says,

    ”…that whosoever believeth in Him…”

This is one of the most hopeful words in the Bible: “whosoever.” It means the invitation is open to everyone. Rich or poor. Young or old. Religious or skeptical. Your past does not disqualify you from responding to Christ. But biblical belief is more than agreeing that Jesus existed. It is placing your trust in Him, following Him, and receiving Him as Lord and Savior.

Jesus also speaks honestly about the human condition:

    ”…should not perish…”

Modern culture often tells us that people are basically fine and simply need more education, more money, or more opportunities. The Bible goes deeper. It teaches that humanity’s greatest problem is separation from God because of sin. That separation has eternal consequences. Jesus does not ignore this reality; He came to rescue us from it.

Finally, the verse ends with hope:

    ”…but have everlasting life.”

Eternal life is not merely living forever. According to the New Testament, it begins the moment a person places their faith in Christ. It is a restored relationship with God that continues beyond death into eternity. It is a life marked by forgiveness, purpose, peace, and the promise that death is not the end.

For young people today, John 3:16 speaks directly into a world searching for identity and meaning. Many are told that their value depends on appearance, popularity, achievements, or online approval. Jesus offers something different. He says your worth is not determined by how many people notice you but by the fact that God loved you enough to give His Son for you.

This verse also challenges us. God’s love is not permission to live however we please. The same Jesus who welcomed sinners also called people to repentance, faith, and a transformed life. Grace is free, but it is never cheap—it cost Christ His life.

After centuries of study, theologians from many Christian traditions continue to agree on one central truth: John 3:16 is the heart of the gospel. It reveals God’s initiative, Christ’s sacrifice, humanity’s need, the call to faith, and the promise of eternal life. Entire libraries have been written about this single verse, yet its central message remains wonderfully simple.

    God loves.

    God gave.

    We believe.

    We receive.

That is why John 3:16 continues to speak across generations. It is not merely a famous Bible verse—it is an invitation from God to every human heart.

    Continue in the Faith

After facing intense opposition, persecution, and even being stoned and left for dead, Paul did not allow suffering to stop his mission. Instead, he returned to the churches he had planted to strengthen and encourage new believers. His message was both honest and hopeful: following Christ would involve trials, but they were to continue faithfully because God's kingdom was worth every hardship.

Paul did not promise an easy Christian life. Rather, he reminded the disciples that difficulties are a normal part of following Jesus. Trials are not evidence that God has abandoned His people. Instead, they are often the very circumstances through which He strengthens our faith, deepens our dependence on Him, and shapes us into the likeness of Christ.

This verse encourages believers to remain steadfast when facing challenges. Whether the trial is disappointment, illness, rejection, financial difficulty, or spiritual opposition, God is present and faithful through it all. The hardships we experience today are temporary, but the promises of God are eternal. As we continue trusting Him, He supplies the grace and strength we need for each step of the journey.

When we keep our eyes on Christ instead of our circumstances, we discover that He is faithful to sustain us. Every trial becomes another opportunity to experience His power, grow in perseverance, and testify to His unfailing love.

    Reflection Questions

    1. How has God strengthened my faith through past trials?

    2. Am I trusting God's promises even when my circumstances are difficult?

    3. How can I encourage another believer who is facing hardship today?

    Prayer

Lord God, thank You for walking with me through every trial. Strengthen my heart to continue faithfully, even when the path is difficult. Help me to trust Your purpose, rely on Your strength, and remain steadfast in my faith. Use my life to encourage others to persevere and keep their eyes on You. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    ● Spend time thanking God for His faithfulness during past difficulties.

    ● Encourage someone who is going through a trial with Scripture and prayer.

    ● Choose to trust God's promises today instead of focusing on your circumstances.

    Takeaway Thought

God uses life's trials to strengthen those who faithfully continue following Him.
