• Jesus Paid The Price (Romans 5:8)

    How much are you worth?

The answer is found at the cross.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus didn't wait for you to become perfect.

He loved you in your brokenness.
He loved you in your failures.
He loved you when you were far from Him.

The cross is proof of God's love.

    Every nail.
    Every wound.
    Every drop of blood.

Jesus willingly paid the price so you could be forgiven and have eternal life.

You don't have to earn God's love.
You don't have to prove your worth.

    The cross already settled that.

    You are deeply loved.
    You are greatly valued.
    You are worth dying for.

Today, take a moment to reflect on what Jesus did for you.

The greatest act of love in history was done for your salvation.

What does the cross mean to you personally?

    Greatness Through Sacrifice

Mark chapter 10 records a conversation where the disciples were discussing positions of honor and greatness in the kingdom of God. James and John had asked Jesus for places of prominence beside Him, revealing that they still viewed greatness through the lens of status and authority.

Jesus responded by completely redefining greatness. He explained that true greatness in God’s kingdom is found in serving others rather than being served. Then He pointed to Himself as the ultimate example.

The Son of Man, the promised Messiah and King, did not come demanding service and recognition. Instead, He came to serve humanity and ultimately to give His life as a ransom for many. The word ransom refers to the price paid to free someone from bondage. Through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus paid the price for sin so that people could be reconciled to God.

This verse reveals both the mission and the heart of Christ. His authority was expressed through humility, compassion, and sacrifice. The King of glory became a servant for the sake of others.

For believers today this passage challenges worldly ideas of success and importance. In God’s kingdom, greatness is measured by humility, love, and willingness to serve. Following Jesus means adopting His attitude and placing the needs of others before selfish ambition.

The life of Christ shows that true leadership is rooted in sacrificial love.

    Reflection Questions

    1. How does the example of Jesus challenge my understanding of greatness

    2. In what ways can I serve others more intentionally

    3. How does Christ’s sacrifice shape the way I live and treat others

    Prayer

Lord Jesus thank You for coming to serve and to give Your life for me. Help me to follow Your example of humility and love. Teach me to serve others with sincerity and compassion so that my life reflects Your heart. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    - Look for practical ways to serve someone today without seeking recognition

    - Choose humility over selfish ambition in relationships and decisions

    - Reflect often on the sacrifice Christ made for your salvation

    Takeaway Thought

True greatness is found not in being served but in serving others with the heart of Christ.

  • YOU ARE NOT THE OWNER OF YOUR LIFE

Many people live as if they own their lives—making decisions without consulting God, pursuing personal desires, and ignoring divine purpose.

But the truth from Scripture is clear: you are not your own. Your life belongs to God because He created you and redeemed you.

Understanding this truth is the foundation of a life that pleases God.

    1. GOD IS YOUR CREATOR – YOU BELONG TO HIM

Genesis 1:27 – God created man in His own image.

Isaiah 64:8 – “We are the clay, and thou our potter…”

You did not create yourself. Just as a product belongs to its manufacturer, your life belongs to God.

    Implication:

You don’t have absolute control over your life.

Your purpose is defined by God, not by culture or personal ambition.

    2. YOU WERE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE

1 Peter 1:18-19 – You were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ.

Acts 20:28 – The church was purchased with His blood.

Jesus paid the ultimate price for your life through His death. That means your life is no longer yours—it belongs to Him.

    Implication:

    You cannot live carelessly.

Your body, choices, and lifestyle must honor God.

    3. LIFE WITHOUT GOD’S CONTROL LEADS TO DESTRUCTION

Proverbs 14:12 – “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Luke 15:11-24 – The prodigal son wasted his life when he chose independence.

When you live as the “owner” of your life, you disconnect from divine direction and expose yourself to failure and regret.

    4. TRUE LIFE BEGINS WHEN YOU SURRENDER TO GOD

Matthew 16:25 – “Whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”

Romans 12:1 – Present your body as a living sacrifice.

Surrender is not loss—it is gain. When you give your life to God, He gives you purpose, peace, and direction.

    5. HOW TO LIVE AS GOD’S PROPERTY

    a. Submit Daily to God

James 4:7 – Submit yourselves therefore to God.

    b. Seek God’s Will in Every Decision

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Acknowledge Him in all your ways.

    c. Live to Glorify God

1 Corinthians 10:31 – Do all to the glory of God.

    d. Follow the Leading of the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:14 – As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

    CONCLUSION

You are not the owner of your life—God is. He created you, redeemed you, and has a purpose for you. The best decision you can make is to surrender your life fully to Him.

Stop living for yourself. Start living for God.

    ALTAR CALL

If you have been living your life your own way, today is the day to surrender.

    Pray:

“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that my life is not mine. I surrender everything to You. Take control of my life, lead me, and use me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
