• Ryan Thompson, an MLB pitcher and brother-in-law to Kayleigh McEnany, just took a stand. He refused to wear the Pride hat and defended what the rainbow actually means—God's covenant with Noah, not a political symbol.

That's conviction. That's faith. In a league that's gone soft on everything, he stood firm on what matters.

Millions of Christians have his back. Let him know.

  • In this episode of A Guy and His Bible, Patrick talks about the growing pressure on Christian athletes to stay quiet, compromise, or simply go along with the culture.

Major League Baseball warned players after Bible verses were written on Pride Night hats. The York Revolution chose to forfeit a game and publicly rebuke players who would not wear Pride Night jerseys. These moments are bigger than baseball. They reveal a deeper spiritual issue: when the world celebrates what God’s Word calls sin, will the Body of Christ remain silent, or will we stand with truth and grace?

This is not about hatred. This is not about attacking people. This is about whether Christians are still allowed to live out their convictions publicly, speak the Word of God boldly, and refuse to bow when culture demands conformity.

The Bible calls us to speak the truth in love, but it still calls us to speak. Silence is not faithfulness when truth is being pushed aside. As believers, we must be willing to stand firm, not with arrogance, not with cruelty, but with courage, compassion, and conviction.

In this video, we look at what these situations say about our culture, the responsibility of Christian athletes, and why the Church must not retreat from the public square.

Texas Rangers remain only MLB team without Pride Night: 'Our commitment is to make everyone feel welcome'
All MLB teams have their own Pride Night to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community except one: the Texas Rangers. The organization explained why that is, while its fan base supports it.

  • Opening Scriptures before the Message

Isaiah 55:11 MLB Guideposts Parallel 1973 so shall My word be, which goes forth from My mouth; it shall not come back to Me uselessly, but it shall do what I purpose and accomplish what I commissioned it.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness,

so that the man of God may be well-fitted and adequately for all good work.

2 Peter 1:19-21 So we have the prophetic message reaffirmed, to which you do well to pay attention as you would to a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawns and the Daystar arises in your hearts,

with this most clearly understood, that no prophetic Scripture can be explained by one's unaided mental powers.

Because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

Job 38:1-3 THEN THE LORD answered Job out of a whirlwind:

Who is this that obscures purpose by thoughtless words?

Gird up your loins like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.

Job 40:6-7 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind:

Gird up now your loins like a man; I will question you, and you must inform Me.

Job 42:4-7 Now therefore hear me, and I will speak, Shall I question Thee anymore? Thou hast informed me.

    Heretofore I had heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now My eye sees Thee;

wherefore, I retract and repent in dust and ashes."

After the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite: My indignation is kindled against you and against your two friends; for you have not, as My servant Job, spoken the truth about Me.

Romans 10:14-17 Now then, how can they invoke Him in whom they have no faith? And how can they believe in One of whom they have not heard? Again, how can they listen without a preacher?

But how can they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "How lovely are the feet of those who publish the good news!"

Not all, however, have heard the good news, as Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"

Faith, then, results from hearing, and hearing is through the message of Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 I will deliver you from your people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you

for the opening of their eyes and their turning from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, to obtain forgiveness of sins and their allotted portion among those made holy through faith in Me.'

Romans 15:4-7 All those writings of long ago were written for our instruction, so that through the patience and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

And may the God who gives patience and encouragement grant you such mutual understanding in agreement with Christ Jesus

that together as with one voice you may praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accept one another, therefore, just as Christ accepted you, for the glory of God.

  • It has been an interesting week. To be honest, I like competition. I have my whole life. I competed in weightlifting when I was 72 (young), Unfortunately, wokeism is now prevalent in all sports. MLB transferred the all-star game to Colorado because of supposed wokeism. Sports teams fly pride flags, refused to honor the national anthem, and now the Olympics. Competitors work towards competing against the best in the world at their particular craft for years. And then there is the opening ceremony-which was designed by Satan himself. This blasphemous display of everything LGBTQ+ was, as President Trump said, “disgraceful”. The sad thing is that we Christians did not stand up and NO MORE. Corporations (except only one) were afraid to say NO MORE. Churches were afraid to say NO MORE. I don’t watch baseball anymore. I love football, but I have to say NO MORE. I like NASCAR, but even they are subject to this woke nonsense. DEI is the watchword- nonsense or idiocy -diversity, equity, inclusion. The lieutenant governor of N. Carolina says it best. DEI is for discipline, excellence, intelligence. Folks, I am afraid that the Christian warriors are stuck in a foxhole, afraid to get up, stand up, for Christ. I know that in the end, God wins. But what about the meantime? Do we look at pure satanism and say, oh well, I’m going to wait for Jesus to come back and not do anything? Friends, I’m pretty sure that is not what Jesus said. He said “GO!” and he said he would be with us when we do. Mostly, the Olympics is about the spectators, not the participants. Christianity should be the reverse. There are enough of us being spectators (just not biblical) as our nation continues its downward slide into judgment by the most high God. The time is NOW for us to repent, stand up, and GO in the power of the Holy Spirit, if it only 3 or 300 or 3 thousand or 3 million. It is time! Your choice: spectator or participant?
