• Can we be active in church and still be ignoring what God is asking us to change?

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/15/when-leadership-becomes-corrupt-the-warning-of-micah-39-12/

Micah 3:9–12 gives us a sobering picture of leaders who had the right religious language but the wrong priorities.

Rulers were influenced by bribes. Priests allowed money to shape their ministry. Prophets pursued personal gain. Yet they still confidently believed that because the Lord was among them, judgment could never come.

They confused God’s presence with God’s approval.

    That warning still matters today.

Church attendance, ministry involvement, biblical knowledge, giving, leadership positions, and years of Christian service are all valuable—but none of them can replace genuine obedience to God.

Micah forces us to ask some difficult questions:

Where has money, comfort, approval, or influence begun affecting our decisions?

Are we willing to obey God when obedience becomes costly?

Are we using religious activity as evidence that everything in our spiritual lives must be okay?

    And perhaps most importantly:

What has God entrusted to me, and am I handling it faithfully?

  • The Church was never meant to simply blend into the culture around it.

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/12/the-church-of-the-living-god-standing-firm-as-a-pillar-of-truth/

Paul calls the Church “the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” — 1 Timothy 3:15

That means we have been entrusted with something far greater than maintaining buildings, programs, traditions, or Sunday services. We have been entrusted with the truth of God.

We are called to know it. Live it. Guard it. Proclaim it. And faithfully pass it to the next generation.

The Church does not create truth. God has already spoken. Our responsibility is to stand firmly on His Word while pointing people toward Jesus.

And in a world where beliefs seem to change almost daily, the Church desperately needs Christians who are grounded, faithful, humble, loving, and unwilling to compromise the Gospel.

A pillar is meant to stand.
    So Church, stand.
    Stand on the Word.
Stand in grace.
Stand in truth.
Stand in love.

Stand beneath the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

  • What have you already decided you will not compromise?
Long before Daniel stood in the lions’ den, he stood firm at the king’s table.

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/10/dare-to-be-a-daniel-living-with-conviction-in-a-culture-of-compromise/

Daniel 1:8 tells us that Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself. Before the great public tests of his faith ever came, Daniel had already settled something in his heart: his loyalty belonged to God.

That same decision matters for us today.

Our culture constantly pressures us to blend in, stay quiet, lower our standards, and treat biblical conviction as unnecessary. But faithfulness to Christ means deciding that God’s Word will have greater authority in our lives than popularity, convenience, opportunity, or cultural approval.

    The small decisions matter.
    Integrity matters.
Truth matters.
Holiness matters.
Obedience matters.

The Daniel who eventually stood before lions first learned to stand faithfully in an ordinary decision at a dinner table.

My latest blog, “Dare to Be a Daniel: Living With Conviction in a Culture of Compromise,” looks at Daniel 1:8 and what his example teaches us about developing conviction before the pressure comes.

  • What can God accomplish through one ordinary person who simply says yes?

    https://youtu.be/cCvZ5O6cCOg

In Acts 9:10–19, Ananias receives a difficult assignment from the Lord: go and minister to Saul—the man feared for persecuting followers of Jesus.

Ananias had questions. He understood the danger. He was afraid. But when God said, “Go,” he obeyed.

In this message, “The Unsung Catalyst: Ananias and Radical Obedience,” we discover how God uses faithful believers to participate in life-changing transformation. Ananias may not have been famous, but his obedience helped prepare Saul to become the apostle Paul.

You do not need a large platform to make an eternal difference. You simply need to be available when God calls.

Watch the full message, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and consider this question:

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/01/when-god-breaks-through-hope-restoration-and-the-coming-king-in-micah-212-13/

Micah 2:12–13 reminds us that judgment is not God’s final word for His people—hope is.

The Lord gathers His people like a shepherd, breaks through every barrier that holds them captive, and leads them forward as their King.

In a world filled with confusion, fear, and brokenness, this passage points us to the faithfulness of God and the saving power of Christ. He is still the Shepherd who gathers, the Breaker who delivers, and the King who leads.

Take a few moments to read this new blog and be encouraged by the reminder that no obstacle is too great for the Lord to overcome.

  • What are the warning signs of a dying church?

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/07/31/seven-symptoms-of-a-dying-church-and-the-hope-of-revival/

Churches rarely drift overnight. More often, decline happens slowly as unhealthy patterns become normal. In this new post, I look at seven symptoms of a dying church—from continuous conflict and prolonged meetings to protecting traditions more than pursuing the mission of Christ.

But this is not a message of hopelessness. A dying church is never beyond the reach of a living Savior. Jesus still calls His people to wake up, strengthen what remains, and return to Him.

“Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die.” — Revelation 3:2

If you’ve ever wondered how churches lose their spiritual vitality—and how renewal can begin—this post is for you.

  • Trustworthy leadership is not built in big moments alone—it is developed through ordinary obedience, day by day.

It shows up in keeping your word, owning your mistakes, staying teachable, handling responsibility well, and serving even when no one notices.

Real leadership begins with character long before it is ever seen on a platform.

  • This post highlights Ananias as the ordinary disciple whose courageous obedience helped change the course of Saul’s life—and church history. ([A Guy And His Bible][1])

**What if the assignment you are afraid to accept is the very assignment God will use to change someone’s life?**

When we read Acts 9, our attention usually goes straight to Saul’s dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. But behind Saul’s transformation stands an often-overlooked disciple named **Ananias**.

Ananias wasn’t a famous apostle, influential leader, or powerful preacher. He was an ordinary believer who was listening when God called his name.

And the assignment God gave him was terrifying:

Go find Saul—the man who had been persecuting Christians—and minister to him.

Ananias had questions. He knew Saul’s reputation. He understood the danger. But eventually, his faith became greater than his fear.

    He went.

He placed his hands on the man who had once been his enemy and welcomed him with two powerful words:

    **“Brother Saul.”**

That moment reminds us that radical obedience does not always happen on a stage. Sometimes it looks like walking down an unfamiliar street, entering an uncomfortable room, forgiving an enemy, encouraging a struggling person, or reaching out when everything inside us wants to stay away.

Ananias could not see everything God was preparing to do through Saul—but he obeyed the part God placed in front of him.

You may never know how far one simple act of obedience will reach.

Who might be waiting on the other side of your “yes”?

  • Can a person be saved without truly living as a disciple of Jesus Christ?

    https://youtu.be/vNYr9CKgUyY

Salvation and discipleship are closely connected, but they are not exactly the same. Salvation is God’s gift of eternal life, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the daily commitment to follow Jesus, obey His Word, surrender every area of our lives to Him, and become more like Him.

In this video, we examine four important differences between salvation and discipleship:
    • Salvation is a gift; discipleship is a commitment.
• Salvation happens at conversion; discipleship happens daily.
• Salvation rests on what Christ has done; discipleship responds to what Christ says.
• Salvation changes our spiritual status; discipleship transforms our character.

We are not saved because we follow Jesus perfectly. We are saved because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. However, those who have received His saving grace are called into a lifetime of following Him.
Discipleship is not perfection—it is direction. It is a life that continually turns toward Jesus, even after failure.

As you watch, consider these questions:

    - Have I genuinely placed my faith in Jesus Christ?
    - Am I following Jesus only when it is convenient?
    - What area of my life have I not fully surrendered to Him?
    - Is my character becoming more like Christ?
    - What act of obedience is Jesus calling me to take today?
