He recognized that every changed life, every new church, and every victory belonged to the Lord alone. Paul's example teaches us that true servants of Christ give glory to God instead of seeking recognition for themselves. God is the One who changes hearts, opens doors, and produces spiritual fruit. We are simply His willing servants, privileged to participate in His work. August 26 🌿 “WHO GOD IS TO ME” MY HOPE 📖 Psalm 71:5 (LLV) — “For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You have been my trust since my youth.” Hope is often spoken of as something we wish will happen. “I hope things get better.” “I hope everything works out.” “I hope tomorrow will be easier.” But biblical hope is different. It is not a wish. It is confidence placed in Someone. “For You are my hope, O Lord GOD.” The psalmist does not say, “My hope is that my circumstances will improve.” His hope is God. Then he looks backward. “You have been my trust since my youth.” There is something beautiful about faith that has lived long enough to remember. Years bring memories. Some joyful. Some painful. Some we would gladly live again. Others we are simply grateful to have survived. But when we look back, we can often see something we could not see while we were living through them. God was there. Through doors that opened. Through doors that closed. Through prayers answered as we hoped. Through prayers answered in ways we did not understand. Through beginnings. Through endings. Through laughter. Through tears. God was there. And yesterday's faithfulness becomes today's reason for hope. The psalmist does not pretend the future holds no uncertainty. Later he prays, “Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” He knows life changes. Strength fades. Tomorrow contains things we cannot predict. But God does not change with our seasons. The God who held us when we were young does not become less faithful as the years pass. So hope does not require us to know what happens next. Hope says, “I know who will be there.” Perhaps that is why this is the right place to finish our journey. We have called Him: My Rock. My Shepherd. My Light. My Refuge. My Strength. My Keeper. The One who walks with me. My Hiding Place. And now, after remembering all those things, we can look toward whatever comes next and say: You are my hope. A new beginning can face an unknown tomorrow because it remembers a faithful yesterday: I may not know what lies ahead, but I know the God who will be there. Reflection: When I look back over my life, where can I see God's faithfulness giving me reason to trust Him with what still lies ahead? Prayer: Heavenly Father, You have been faithful through every season of my life. Thank You for the times I recognized Your hand and for the times You were working when I could not see it. When tomorrow feels uncertain, help me remember yesterday's faithfulness. You have been my trust, and You remain my hope. 26 August 2026 Holy Is His Name Psalm 99:3 (AMP) “Let them praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He.” There is something powerful about simply declaring the holiness of God. Psalm 99:3 calls us to praise His “great and awesome name” because He is holy. God is not like anyone or anything else. His character is perfect, His ways are righteous, and His presence is worthy of our deepest reverence. When we truly recognize who He is, praise becomes more than something we sing—it becomes the natural response of a heart that has encountered His greatness. Sometimes life can become so busy that we focus more on our problems than on the One who is greater than every problem. But when we lift our eyes toward God and remember His holiness, our perspective changes. Our circumstances may not immediately change, but our hearts become anchored in the One who never changes. Today, pause and remember: God is holy. God is worthy. God is faithful. God is still on the throne. Let your worship not depend on how you feel or what you are facing. Praise Him because of who He is. Prayer Heavenly Father, I praise Your great and awesome name today. You alone are holy, righteous, and worthy of all honor. Forgive me for the times when I have allowed my circumstances to become bigger in my heart than You. Help me to see You for who You truly are. Wednesday, 26th August, 2026 TITLE: "ABIDE IN GOD: DWELL IN HIS PRESENCE, REMAIN IN HIS STRENGTH" ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) Psalm 91:1–2 (KJV) "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." John 15:4 (KJV) "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "Your strength, safety, and fruitfulness begin with remaining close to God." DAY'S REFLECTION The Christian life is not designed to be lived independently of God. We need His presence, strength, guidance, and grace every day. Psalm 91:1 gives us a beautiful picture of this relationship: "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." The word "dwelleth" means to live, remain, or make one's home in a place. It is more than visiting occasionally. God desires us to develop a consistent relationship with Him rather than seeking Him only when trouble comes. The "secret place" speaks of intimate fellowship with God—a place of prayer, worship, meditation on His Word, and communion with Him. To "abide under the shadow of the Almighty" speaks of resting in His presence and depending on His power and protection. The psalmist therefore confidently declares, "He is my refuge and my fortress." A refuge is a place of safety, while a fortress provides protection against attack. The writer's confidence was not in his circumstances but in his relationship with God: "my God; in him will I trust." Jesus gives us the same principle in John 15:4: "Abide in me, and I in you." He uses the relationship between a branch and a vine to explain spiritual dependence. A branch cannot produce fruit by itself. It must remain connected to the vine. Likewise, we cannot produce lasting spiritual fruit through human effort alone. We need continuous connection with Christ. To abide means to remain, continue, dwell, and stay connected. Life experience teaches us that disconnection brings weakness. A phone may be fully functional, but without connection to its power source, its battery eventually runs down. Similarly, believers who neglect prayer, God's Word, worship, and fellowship with Christ can become spiritually weak and vulnerable. Abiding in Christ does not mean that problems will never come. It means that when problems come, we do not face them alone. We have a refuge. We have a fortress. We have the presence of the Almighty. Today, do not merely visit God's presence—dwell there. Do not only seek Christ when you need something—abide in Him daily. Stay connected to Christ, and let His presence become your place of strength, peace, protection, and fruitfulness. When a Nation Rejects God Scripture Judges 19:30 (NKJV) And so it was that all who saw it said, No such deed has been done or seen from the day that the children of Israel came up from the land of Egypt until this day. Consider it, confer, and speak up! The Tragic Results of Spiritual Compromise Judges 19 is one of the darkest chapters in all of Scripture. It does not describe God's approval of human actions but exposes the devastating consequences of a nation that had turned away from Him. The chapter demonstrates what happens when people reject God's authority and choose to live according to their own desires. The account begins with a Levite seeking to reconcile with his concubine. As they traveled home, they refused to stay in a foreign city and instead chose an Israelite town, expecting safety among God's covenant people. Tragically, they found that the moral condition of Israel had become no different than the wicked nations around them. The men of Gibeah committed shocking acts of violence and depravity, revealing how far the nation had fallen. Sin that had once been unthinkable had become accepted. The chapter ends with the Levite sending pieces of the woman's body throughout Israel, shocking the nation and forcing the people to recognize the seriousness of their spiritual collapse. The final verse records the people's response: they acknowledged that nothing like this had ever happened since Israel came out of Egypt. They were called to consider what had happened, seek wisdom together, and respond. Judges 19 teaches that when God's truth is abandoned, moral confusion and spiritual darkness follow. A society cannot reject God's standards without experiencing painful consequences. Sin always destroys individuals, families, communities, and eventually entire nations. For believers today, this chapter is a solemn reminder to remain faithful to God's Word. We must never become comfortable with sin or allow culture to redefine what God has already declared to be true. Christ calls His people to be light in a dark world, living holy lives that reflect His righteousness and His compassion. While this chapter reveals the depth of human depravity, the rest of Scripture reveals God's answer. Jesus Christ came to rescue sinners, restore broken lives, and transform hearts through His grace. Where sin abounds, God's grace is greater for all who repent and trust in Him. Reflection Questions 1. Am I allowing God's Word to shape my values more than the culture around me? 2. Have I become comfortable with attitudes or behaviors that God calls sin? 3. How can I be a light for Christ in a world that desperately needs His truth? Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing both the seriousness of sin and the greatness of Your grace. Guard my heart from compromise and help me to stand firmly upon Your truth. The question is not whether we know the truth—but whether we are entrusting it to others who will carry it forward. True legacy is investing in others’ faith, not just our own accomplishments. Biblical ministry is not a dead end—it is a chain of faithful hands passing the truth onward, multiplying the Gospel through generations. A torch is not lit to be hidden in a drawer. Its purpose is to be carried forward, lighting the way for others. So it is with the truth of God's Word. We are not spiritual warehouses, storing truth on our shelves while others remain in darkness. What God has entrusted to us was never meant to stop with us. Scripture teaches discipleship through multiplication: “𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘯, 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰” (𝟐 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟐:𝟐). “𝘎𝘰 𝘺𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟐𝟖:𝟏𝟗). “𝘏𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴… 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴” (𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟏𝟏–𝟏𝟐). Disciples are not made by addition alone, but by multiplication—passing the Word through faithful hands to reach the ends of the world. But investing in others requires patience. People do not mature overnight. A gardener does not plant a seed and expect fruit by sunset. Do not abandon the seed because the harvest is not visible yet. Teaching, correcting, encouraging, praying, and walking alongside believers may seem slow, but faithful investment shapes lives for eternity. We are called not just to gather listeners but to develop faithful followers of Christ. Before calling us to entrust truth, Christ entrusted it to us. He “𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳” (𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝟏𝟎:𝟒𝟓). Now, as stewards, we do not keep truth to ourselves but pass it on. This truth is the Gospel of Jesus Christ (𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟓:𝟑–𝟒). Paul entrusted it to Timothy, and Timothy to others—the Gospel came to us through faithful witnesses, and it must not stop with us. The call to invest in others is a divine mission impacting generations. Are you ready to pass on faith’s legacy? Do not be a spiritual warehouse storing truth that never leaves your shelves. You need Christ not just for knowledge, but to acknowledge that you are called to be a faithful steward of what He entrusts. Receive the truth. Live it. Entrust it. Multiply the faith. One faithful life can influence many more. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank You for entrusting us with the truth of Your Word. Forgive us for hoarding what You have called us to share. Teach us to invest faithfully in others, to multiply faithful believers, and to carry the Gospel forward until Christ returns. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
