• “Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,” — Hebrews 12:1 (CSB)

The Christian life is pictured as a race that requires perseverance, discipline, and endurance. We are called to put aside not only sin, but anything that weighs us down and keeps us from faithfully following Christ. The believers who came before us remind us that a life of faith can be lived even through hardship and uncertainty. God has given each of us a race to run—so lay down the weight, keep moving forward, and don’t quit.

  • Let God’s Peace Guard Your Heart (Philippians 4:6–7)

There are seasons when your mind feels full of questions.

What if things don't work out?

What if I lose this opportunity?

    What if my plans fail?

    What will happen tomorrow?

Sometimes uncertainty can steal the peace we have today.

But God's Word gives us a different way to respond.

    The Bible says:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

    Notice the instruction:

    Pray.

When you don't know what to do, pray.

When you're worried about tomorrow, pray.

When you are waiting for an answer, pray.

When circumstances are beyond your control, pray.

Prayer doesn't mean pretending that problems don't exist.

It means refusing to face those problems as though you are facing them alone.

God already knows what you're carrying.

He knows the concerns you haven't told anyone.

He knows the questions you keep asking yourself.

He knows the battles happening inside your heart.

And He invites you to bring them to Him.

But Paul gives us another important instruction:

    Give thanks.

That can be difficult when life isn't going according to plan.

    Yet gratitude changes our focus.

Instead of only looking at what is missing, we begin remembering what God has already done.

    Thank Him for life.

    Thank Him for His grace.

Thank Him for the people He has placed around you.

Thank Him for the lessons you've learned.

Thank Him for the doors He has opened.

Thank Him for the times He protected you without you even realizing it.

Most importantly, thank Him for Jesus.

Because our greatest hope isn't found in having a perfect life.

Our greatest hope is found in knowing Christ.

God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to die for our sins and make reconciliation with Him possible.

That truth doesn't change when circumstances change.

And then comes one of the most beautiful promises in Scripture:

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

God's peace doesn't always mean the storm disappears immediately.

    Sometimes the situation remains.

The bills still need to be paid.

The decision still needs to be made.

    The answer still hasn't arrived.

    The future is still uncertain.

But something inside you can change.

Instead of being controlled by fear, you can learn to trust.

Instead of constantly asking, “What if?”

    You can begin saying:

    “God is with me.”

Instead of thinking, “I must control everything,”

    you can say:

“I will do my part and trust God with the rest.”

Peace doesn't come from knowing exactly what tomorrow will bring.

Peace comes from knowing who holds tomorrow.

So today, don't carry tomorrow's problems with today's strength.

You have enough grace for today.

    Bring your worries to God.

    Pray honestly.

    Give thanks.

    Read His Word.

And trust Him one step at a time.

If the worry returns, pray again.

If the fear returns, trust again.

If the uncertainty returns, remember God's faithfulness again.

You don't have to figure everything out today.

    God is still working.

Give God your worries, and let His peace guard your heart while you trust Him with what you cannot control.

What is one concern you need to stop carrying alone and place into God's hands today?

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - SUNDAY, 23RD AUGUST, 2026.*

*COME UNTO ME, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST*

12th Sunday after Trinity | 4th Sunday in August.

    Scripture:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV).

*Reflection – Jesus Is Our Place of Rest*

Life can become overwhelming. There are burdens we carry because of responsibilities, expectations, disappointments, unanswered prayers, family concerns, ministry demands, work, studies, and the uncertainties of tomorrow.

Jesus does not tell the weary to struggle harder. He gives a gracious invitation:

    “Come unto me.”

Christ does not promise that we will never face difficulties. Instead, He promises that when we bring our burdens to Him, He will give us rest.

The rest Jesus gives is deeper than physical relaxation. It is the rest of a heart that knows it is no longer carrying everything alone. It is peace in the midst of pressure, confidence in the midst of uncertainty, and strength to continue when we feel weak.

Today, whatever burden you are carrying, bring it to Jesus. Do not carry what Christ is asking you to surrender.

Your burden may be heavy, but His grace is sufficient.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that I come to Jesus Christ with every burden, concern, fear, and uncertainty in my life. I refuse to carry alone what I can surrender to my Savior.

I declare that the rest of Christ is entering every troubled area of my life. His peace shall replace anxiety, His strength shall replace weakness, and His hope shall replace discouragement.

I proclaim that every burden weighing heavily upon my heart shall be surrendered to the Lord. I release the burdens of fear, disappointment, uncertainty, financial pressure, family concerns, ministry responsibilities, work, business, studies, and the future into God's capable hands.

Today, I receive divine strength to continue the journey. Where I have become weary, the Lord shall renew me. Where I have become discouraged, He shall restore my joy. Where I have become confused, He shall give me direction.

I declare peace over my family and household. May every unnecessary tension, anxiety, misunderstanding, and heaviness give way to the peace of Christ.

I declare grace over my ministry and service to God. I shall not serve from exhaustion or seek to carry God's work in my own strength. I receive fresh grace, wisdom, strength, and spiritual renewal.

I proclaim divine rest over my work, business, and studies. The Lord shall give me wisdom to manage my responsibilities, strength to complete my assignments, and favor to accomplish what He has placed in my hands.

I declare that I shall not be controlled by tomorrow's uncertainties. God holds my future, and I choose to trust Him one day at a time.

Today, I reject the lie that I must solve everything by myself. I acknowledge my dependence on God and receive His grace for every challenge before me.

I declare that the Lord shall restore my emotional, spiritual, and physical strength according to His will. He shall lead me beside still waters and restore my soul.

I proclaim that my home shall be a place of peace, my heart shall be a dwelling place of God's presence, and my life shall reflect the calm confidence of someone who trusts in Christ.

    I come to Jesus.
    I surrender my burdens.
    I receive His rest.
    I receive His strength.
    I receive His peace.
I will not be overwhelmed, because Christ is with me.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
Begin with Jesus: Before you begin carrying today's responsibilities, spend time in prayer and surrender your burdens to Christ.

Read Matthew 11:28–30: Meditate on Jesus' invitation to the weary and His promise of rest.

Declare: “I come to Jesus, I surrender my burdens, and I receive His rest and peace.”

Make a burden list: Write down the things troubling your heart and consciously hand each one over to God in prayer.

Stop carrying what belongs to God: Do your part faithfully, but leave the outcome in God's hands.

Rest in God's presence: Set aside quiet time today for prayer, worship (attend church service), Scripture reading, and reflection.

Encourage someone who is weary: Share Matthew 11:28 with someone who needs to be reminded that Jesus cares about their burdens.

End the day with thanksgiving: Thank Jesus for carrying you through the day and for every evidence of His grace.

    *Sunday Prayer:*
    Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your gracious invitation: “Come unto me.”

Today, I come to You with everything that is weighing upon my heart. I bring my fears, worries, responsibilities, disappointments, unanswered questions, and every burden I cannot carry by myself.

    Lord, give me Your rest.

Quiet every storm within me. Replace anxiety with peace, confusion with clarity, fear with faith, and weakness with strength.

I surrender my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, finances, plans, and future into Your hands. Teach me to do what I can faithfully and trust You with what is beyond my control.

Restore my soul. Renew my strength. Refresh my spirit. Give me wisdom for every responsibility and grace for every challenge.

Help me not to run away from You when I am tired, but to run toward You.

Let Your presence fill my home. Let Your peace rule in my heart. Let Your grace sustain me throughout this new week.

    Jesus, I come to You.
    Jesus, I trust You.
    Jesus, I surrender to You.
    Jesus, I receive Your rest.

In Your mighty name I pray. Amen.

    *Sunday Blessing:*
May the Lord Jesus give you rest from every burden that has been weighing upon your heart.

May His peace fill your home and household. May His strength sustain you in your ministry, work, business, studies, and every responsibility entrusted to you.

May God give you wisdom to know what to carry and what to surrender. May He renew your strength when you are weary and restore your joy when you are discouraged.

May every storm around you become an opportunity to experience the peace of Christ within you.

As you enter the coming week, may you go forward not in your own strength, but in the strength of the Lord.

    Come to Jesus.
    Surrender your burdens.
    Receive His rest.
    Walk in His strength.
    Abide in His peace.

  • Dear Father,

I have questions from a Scripture which says, “if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others.” It states that Noah was a preacher of righteousness, which could mean, the people who were destroyed were not left without a word to turn them from their unrighteousness. Still, only Noah and his family were saved.

Does this really mean there was no one else who, on the strength of his relationship with You, received information that could have saved himself and his family too? Was it a matter of the voice of the majority often carrying the greatest influence? I would like to infer that the ark was no secret at all. For something that had never existed before, its construction may have been public knowledge. And yet, not one more soul was saved. Or perhaps this was about the arrogance of intelligence--that dismisses as unreasonable anything that is beyond the natural.

It’s sad to communicate this, Father. I see the very same pattern in the world today: preachers of righteousness, seen as fools for committing to build for a cause the world does not yet understand. “Why should we prepare for a flood when we’ve never even seen rain?” Living as though all they know is all there is to know about a life they have no idea how they came about living. And others who know, but would rather ride the train of the majority. How difficult can it be to seek You out for ourselves? Yet, while in uncertainty, we make decisions and leave matters of eternity to chance.

What if, just what if, the flood was true, and the fire the Bible prophesies is also true? Perhaps history will repeat itself again.

  • A brotherhood that tested every piece of my soul in combat never prepared me for the pain of having my family stuck in limbo.

My name is Jesse Preston. I spent 14 years on Active Duty in the U.S. Army, Airborne and Air Assault qualified. I served three combat tours in Iraq between 2003 and 2010, and a tour in South Korea in 2007. I bled, sacrificed, and gave over a decade of my life in service to the United States because I believed in honor, loyalty, and standing up for what is right.

Now, I am fighting the hardest battle of my life—and it isn’t on a battlefield. It’s for my own family.

Since November 2023, I have been living abroad because I refuse to abandon my wife, Miheret Beksissa, and our baby daughter, Jessica. Imagine if I had listened to the system and waited back home in America alone, staring at an empty nursery, thousands of miles away from my infant child and the woman God gave me to protect. A combat veteran doesn’t leave his family behind.

We did everything right. We followed every single law. We poured our hard-earned money—over $4,000 just to begin the I-130 and DS-260 with our lawyer, paid every required government fee, and paid another $1,500 for our daughter’s CRBA and U.S. passport. Jessica is a U.S. citizen. Miheret was approved for her immigrant visa through our marriage.

Our journey started in January 2024, and we were so close to coming home. But because immigrant visas for Ethiopians were paused under the current administration policy, our life is on hold. The process is dragging out indefinitely, leaving us stranded in uncertainty.

We are devout, faithful Christians who just want to raise our daughter in the country I wore the uniform to defend. Every day, I look at my daughter and my wife, and my heart breaks knowing that the very system I served is keeping us from starting our life together on American soil.

Please, brothers and sisters, pray for us. Pray that the doors are opened, that red tape is cut, and that our family can finally go home to America together. If this touches your heart, please share our story.

    Pray for us!
A brotherhood that tested every piece of my soul in combat never prepared me for the pain of having my family stuck in limbo. Remembering God’s Faithfulness

    Psalm 77:12 (AMP)
“I will remember the deeds of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.”

There are moments when life feels overwhelming and our hearts become filled with questions. In those moments, it is easy to focus on what God has not done yet instead of remembering everything He has already done.

Psalm 77:12 gives us a powerful spiritual practice: remember.

David intentionally chooses to look back at God’s faithfulness. He remembers His works, His miracles, His protection, and His goodness. Remembering changes our perspective. It reminds us that the God who carried us yesterday is still the God who is carrying us today.

Maybe you are facing something right now that feels bigger than your strength. Before fear tells you that God has forgotten you, stop and remember.

    Remember the doors He opened.
    Remember the prayers He answered.
Remember the times He provided when you didn't know how things would work out.
Remember the moments when He gave you strength to keep going.

Your current situation may be uncertain, but God's character has not changed.
Sometimes faith is simply saying, “I don't understand what God is doing right now, but I remember what He has done before.”

Your memories of God's faithfulness can become fuel for your faith in today's uncertainty.

    Prayer
Father, help me to remember Your goodness when I am tempted to focus on my problems. Remind me of every time You have carried me, provided for me, protected me, and answered my prayers. When I cannot see what You are doing, help me trust who You are. Let the memories of Your faithfulness strengthen my faith today. I choose to remember Your wonders and praise You for Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    Today’s Thought
When you don't know what God is doing, remember what God has already done.

    Declaration
I will remember God's faithfulness. I will not allow today's uncertainty to erase yesterday's miracles. The God who was faithful before will remain faithful today and tomorrow.

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - FRIDAY, 21ST AUGUST, 2026.*

    *PEACE, BE STILL!*

    Scripture:
“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” — Mark 4:39 (KJV).

*Reflection – Jesus Is Lord Over Every Storm*

The disciples were in a boat when a great storm arose. Although Jesus was with them, they became afraid and wondered if they would survive. Jesus arose, rebuked the wind, and commanded the sea: “Peace, be still.”

    The storm obeyed Him.

This reminds us that the presence of a storm does not mean the absence of God. Sometimes we may find ourselves in situations that seem beyond our control, but Jesus remains with us in the boat.

There may be storms in our family, ministry, work, business, studies, finances, relationships, or future. Yet the same Christ who calmed the sea is still Lord over every circumstance.

The greatest miracle is not only that Jesus can change the storm around us; He can also give us peace within us while we wait for the storm to pass.

Today, refuse to allow fear to have the final word. Speak faith over your situation and trust the One who has authority over every storm.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over every storm in my life. No situation is greater than His authority, and no problem is beyond His ability to handle.

I declare “Peace, be still!” over every storm troubling my heart, family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny.

Every storm of fear, anxiety, confusion, disappointment, delay, opposition, and uncertainty shall come under the authority of Jesus Christ.

I declare that every troubling wind blowing against my peace shall cease according to God's perfect will. Every raging situation shall receive divine intervention, and every troubled circumstance shall give way to God's peace.

Today, I receive supernatural peace in my heart. I will not be controlled by fear because Jesus is with me. I will not be overwhelmed by what I see because I know that God is greater than my circumstances.

I declare that the Lord shall calm every situation that is beyond my human ability to control. Where I cannot change circumstances, He shall give me grace to trust Him and wisdom to respond correctly.

I proclaim peace over my family and household. May every conflict, misunderstanding, tension, and anxiety give way to reconciliation, understanding, love, and divine peace.

I proclaim peace over my ministry, work, business, and studies. May confusion become clarity, difficulty become opportunity, and pressure become a testimony of God's faithfulness.

I declare that I shall not abandon my faith because of temporary storms. I will continue to pray, believe, work, and trust God until the calm comes.

Today, I receive courage to remain in the boat with Jesus. I will not jump into dangerous waters because of fear. I will remain steadfast and trust the One who is with me.

I declare that after every storm, there shall be a testimony. What was designed to frighten me shall become an opportunity for me to experience God's power more deeply.

    Jesus is in my boat.
Jesus is greater than my storm.
Jesus has authority over my circumstances.
    Jesus is my peace.
    Therefore, I will not fear.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
Begin with worship: Thank Jesus because He is Lord over every situation you may face today.

Read Mark 4:35–41: Meditate on how Jesus responded to the storm and the fear of His disciples.

Declare: “Jesus is with me in the boat. Therefore, I will not fear. Peace, be still!”

Identify your storm: Write down one situation that is troubling you and surrender it completely to Jesus in prayer.

Choose faith over fear: Whenever anxiety rises today, deliberately replace fearful thoughts with God's promises.

Speak peace: Be careful not to add fuel to conflict through angry or negative words. Let your words promote peace.

End the day with thanksgiving: Thank God for His presence with you, whether the storm has already ceased or you are still waiting for the calm.

    *Prayer:*
    Lord Jesus,
Thank You because You are with me in every storm of life. Thank You because no situation is greater than Your authority.

Today, I bring every storm in my life before You. Speak Your word of peace over my heart, my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and future.

Where there is confusion, speak peace.
Where there is fear, speak peace.
Where there is conflict, speak peace.
Where there is uncertainty, speak peace.
Where there is discouragement, speak peace.

Lord, calm every storm that is according to Your will to be calmed, and give me strength to remain faithful through every storm You permit me to face.

Deliver me from anxiety and fear. Teach me to trust You even when I cannot understand what is happening around me.

Help me remember that Your silence does not mean Your absence. You are with me, and You remain Lord over the storm.

Give me faith like the disciples needed and help me grow into deeper confidence in Your power.

Jesus, speak into every storm of my life today: “Peace, be still!”

Let Your peace fill my heart and let my life become a testimony of Your faithfulness.

    In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

    *Blessing for today:*
May the Lord Jesus arise on your behalf and speak peace into every storm surrounding your life.

May every troubling situation receive divine intervention. May peace reign in your heart, your family, your ministry, your work, your business, your studies, and your relationships.

May God give you grace to remain calm when circumstances are difficult, wisdom to know what to do, and faith to trust Him when you cannot see the way forward.

May every storm become a testimony, every battle produce greater faith, and every difficult season reveal the mighty power of God.

Jesus is greater than your storm.
His peace shall guard your heart.
    His authority shall prevail.
    Your testimony shall emerge.

“PEACE, BE STILL.” — MARK 4:39

May the peace of Christ rule in your heart and household today.

Good morning beloved and do have a blessed, peaceful, and victorious day
    Shalom!
