• One of the things I love about Psalm 23 is that David doesn’t say, “I have everything figured out.”

    He says:

    “The Lord is my shepherd.”

That means I don’t have to know every step.

I just need to know who is leading me.

Sometimes faith isn’t having a complete map.

Sometimes faith is trusting the Shepherd with the next step.

  • THE POWER OF A GOD-GIVEN VISION

Did you know that our marriage began with something that looked like a simple story we created and acted out?

At that moment, we did not realize that there was a prophetic message hidden behind it. The words we wrote on paper, the conversations that sounded like jokes but carried deep meaning, and the vision we shared together became instruments that God used to prepare our future.

Because many times, before God brings something into the visible realm, He first reveals it in the spirit.

A vision from God is not just a dream or an imagination. It is a seed He places in the heart to guide us toward His divine purpose.

So today, I want to ask you:

    What has God shown you?
What promise has He placed inside your heart?
What vision has He entrusted to you?

Do not allow that vision to die within you. Speak it in faith. Write it down. Pray over it. Walk according to His will, and allow God to bring it to manifestation in His perfect timing.

This is what God did with Abraham.

Before he became the father of many nations, God changed his identity and taught him to see beyond his present reality.

    God said to him:

“I have made you the father of many nations.”
    (Genesis 17:5)

Abraham received the promise before he saw the fulfillment.

And today, we can witness the faithfulness of God through his descendants and the nation of Israel.

The same principle applies to us.

You may not yet see what God has placed inside your spirit, but if it comes from Him, He is able to bring it to pass at the appointed time.

    Receive the vision.
    Hold on to faith.
And allow God to write your story.

  • BEWARE OF TRADING OBEDIENCE WITH AMBITION

Ambition is the strong desire to achieve success, greatness, recognition, wealth, or influence.

While ambition is not inherently evil, it becomes dangerous when it causes us to disobey God. Many people start their journey with God sincerely but later allow personal desires, career goals, financial pursuits, fame, or position to replace obedience to God's will.

God blesses obedience, not selfish ambition. Whenever ambition demands that we compromise God's instructions, we must choose obedience over personal gain.

The tragedy of many believers is not that they lack ambition, but that they have traded obedience for ambition.

    1 Samuel 15:22-23 (KJV)
"And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry..."

What Does It Mean to Trade Obedience for Ambition?

It means placing personal desires above God's commands.

It means pursuing what you want instead of what God wants.

It means seeking success at the expense of righteousness.

    Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

God never intended ambition to lead us; His Word should lead us.

Biblical Examples of People Who Traded Obedience for Ambition

    1. King Saul

    1 Samuel 15:1-24
God instructed Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites. Instead, Saul spared King Agag and kept the best animals.

Saul's ambition to please people and appear successful caused him to disobey God.

    Result:

    He lost God's favor.

    He lost his kingdom.

    He lost his destiny.

    Lesson:
Partial obedience is complete disobedience before God.

    2. Balaam

    Numbers 22-24
Balaam knew God's instruction, but his desire for reward and honor tempted him.

    2 Peter 2:15
"...who loved the wages of unrighteousness."

    Lesson:
Greed and ambition can corrupt spiritual judgment.

    3. Judas Iscariot

    Matthew 26:14-16
Judas traded loyalty to Christ for thirty pieces of silver.

His ambition for money caused him to betray Jesus.

    Result:

    Regret

    Destruction

    Eternal shame

    Lesson:
Nothing gained through disobedience is worth losing God's presence.

Signs You Are Trading Obedience for Ambition

    1. When Success Matters More Than Faithfulness

    Luke 16:10
"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much."

    God measures faithfulness before success.

    2. When You Ignore God's Conviction

The Holy Spirit warns believers when they are moving in the wrong direction.

    Isaiah 30:21
"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it..."

Ignoring God's voice repeatedly hardens the heart.

    3. When You Justify Sin for Advancement

Some people lie, cheat, manipulate, or compromise because they want promotion, money, or influence.

    Proverbs 10:9
"He that walketh uprightly walketh surely."

    4. When Human Approval Becomes More Important Than God's Approval

    Galatians 1:10
"For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

Many people lose their spiritual direction because they fear disappointing people.

Why Obedience Is Better Than Ambition

    1. Obedience Attracts God's Favor

    Deuteronomy 28:1-2
"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God... all these blessings shall come on thee..."

    Blessings follow obedience.

    2. Obedience Preserves Destiny

    Joseph remained obedient despite temptations.

    Genesis 39:9
"How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"

His obedience eventually brought him to the palace.

    3. Obedience Brings Lasting Rewards

    John 14:23
"If a man love me, he will keep my words..."

Temporary success obtained through disobedience cannot compare with eternal rewards.

How to Protect Yourself from Ambition-Driven Disobedience

    1. Seek God's Will Daily

    Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart..."

    Always ask:
"Lord, is this Your will or merely my desire?"

    2. Develop a Heart of Submission

    James 4:7
    "Submit yourselves therefore to God."

    Submission protects us from self-will.

    3. Value Character Above Achievement

    Proverbs 22:1
"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches..."

Your integrity is worth more than any promotion.

    4. Be Willing to Wait on God's Timing

    Habakkuk 2:3
"...though it tarry, wait for it..."

Many people compromise because they are unwilling to wait.

    The Greatest Example: Jesus Christ

    Luke 22:42
"Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."

Jesus chose obedience over personal comfort.

    Philippians 2:8-9
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death..."

Because of His obedience, God highly exalted Him.

    Conclusion

Your greatest enemy is not failure; it is success obtained outside the will of God.

Ambition without obedience can destroy destiny.

Every believer must decide whether to pursue personal desires or follow God's instructions.

King Saul chose ambition and lost the kingdom.

Jesus chose obedience and gained eternal glory.

    Remember:

    Obedience is better than sacrifice.

    Obedience is better than popularity.

    Obedience is better than promotion.

    Obedience is better than ambition.

Choose God's will over personal ambition, and He will lead you into His divine purpose.

    Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me never to trade obedience for ambition. Give me the grace to seek Your will above my own desires. Let my success never come at the cost of disobedience. Create in me a humble and submissive heart that delights in following You. May Your purpose be fulfilled in my life, in Jesus' name. Amen.

  • Avoiding Errors That Cancel Divine Promises

    Numbers 14:1–4, 22–23 (KJV)

“Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles… and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers…”

    INTRODUCTION

God is a promise-keeping God. Throughout Scripture, He reveals Himself as faithful, unchanging, and true to His word (Numbers 23:19).

However, while God’s promises are sure, human behavior can delay, hinder, or completely cancel the fulfillment of divine promises in an individual’s life.

Many people are called, chosen, anointed, and promised greatness—yet never arrive at their God-ordained destination because of avoidable errors. This sermon is a call to identify, understand, and avoid errors that nullify divine promises.

    1. Unbelief and Doubt

    Hebrews 3:18–19
“So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

Unbelief is one of the most dangerous spiritual errors. The Israelites were promised the Promised Land, but their constant doubt and fear caused God to swear that they would never enter.

You cannot enjoy what you do not believe.

    Indicators of unbelief:

    Complaining instead of trusting

    Fear replacing faith

Looking at problems more than God’s power

Faith is the currency for accessing divine promises (Hebrews 11:6).

    2. Disobedience to Divine Instructions

    1 Samuel 15:22–23

“To obey is better than sacrifice…”

King Saul lost his throne not because he was not chosen, but because he partially obeyed God. Partial obedience is full disobedience in God’s sight.

Every divine promise is tied to divine instructions.

    When obedience stops, fulfillment stops.

    3. Impatience and Fleshly Shortcuts

    Genesis 16:1–4
Abraham was promised a son, but impatience led him to produce Ishmael, creating generational conflict.

Impatience pushes people to help God—and that often creates long-term problems.

Waiting is not wasted time when God is involved (Isaiah 40:31).

    4. Sin and Compromise

    Joshua 7:10–12
Achan’s hidden sin caused Israel’s defeat at Ai.

One tolerated sin can block many blessings.

God’s promises do not override God’s holiness.

    5. Dishonor and Lack of Respect for Authority

    Exodus 20:12

“Honour thy father and thy mother…”

Many divine promises are conditional upon honor—honor for God, spiritual authorities, parents, and divine order.

What you dishonor, you disconnect from.

    6. Murmuring and Negative Confession

    Numbers 14:28

“As truly as I live… as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you.”

The Israelites spoke themselves out of destiny.

Your mouth can cancel what God has promised.

Speak in alignment with God’s word, not your situation (Proverbs 18:21).

    7. Lack of Perseverance

    Galatians 6:9

“Let us not be weary in well doing…”

Many people quit too early—just before fulfillment.

Promises are not for quitters but for endurance-driven believers.

HOW TO PRESERVE AND FULFILL DIVINE PROMISES

Walk daily in faith and trust God’s word

    Obey God fully and promptly

    Maintain holiness and repentance

    Practice patience and divine timing

    Speak positively and prophetically

    Honor divine structures

    Persevere through trials

    CONCLUSION

Divine promises are real, powerful, and guaranteed—but they are not automatic.

God is faithful, yet He requires responsibility from man. Many destinies are not destroyed by Satan but by avoidable errors.

Let us make a conscious decision to walk wisely, obey completely, believe consistently, and wait patiently—so that nothing cancels what God has promised us.

    CLOSING PRAYER

“Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive grace to avoid every error that can cancel Your promises in my life. Strengthen my faith, align my heart with obedience, purify my walk, and lead me into full fulfillment of Your word. Amen.”

  • GLORIOUS SUNDAY SERMON OF
    18TH JANUARY 2026

    LESSON: GENESIS 12:1-5

TOPIC: WHEN GOD INTERRUPTS YOUR PLANS:

    TEXT:
A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 ( NKJV).

    INTRODUCTION:
We all stepped into this year carrying plans, prayers, and pictures in our minds of how life should unfold. Some of those pictures were bold. Some were quiet and personal. But along the way, God sometimes steps into our carefully drawn paths and gently redirects our steps Proverbs 16:9. Not to confuse us. Not to punish us. But to invite us into something deeper than what we first imagined. In that moment, the heart is faced with a simple but weighty question: do we trust our plans more than we trust His purpose Jeremiah 29:11 ?
Be immensely blessed by the word in Jesus name.

    EXPOSITION:
[1]. THE COMFORT OF OUR OWN BLUEPRINT:
Our plans often grow out of what we can measure, predict, and control. We plan around our strengths, our resources, and what feels safe to manage. There is comfort in that. It gives us a sense of stability. But God’s direction is less about our comfort and more about our becoming Romans 8:29. Sometimes, He allows our carefully drawn lines to blur, not to unsettle us, but to remind us that our lives were never meant to be self-directed projects. They were always meant to be journeys guided by His hand Proverbs 3:5–6.

[2]. DIVINE INTERRUPTIONS ARE NOT DISTRACTIONS:
When God enters a person’s story, He rarely brings a full explanation with Him. Abraham left home without a map Genesis 12:1. Mary accepted a calling that raised questions she could not answer Luke 1:38. Joseph obeyed through dreams that complicated his life rather than simplifying it Matthew 1:19–24. At first, God’s interruptions often feel like loss, delay, or confusion. But with time, they reveal themselves as doorways into a purpose we could not have reached on our own Isaiah 55:8–9.

[3]. OBEDIENCE IN THE MIDDLE OF UNCERTAINTY:
There is a quiet kind of faith that continues to walk even when the road is not clear. It prays when answers seem slow. It serves when the future feels blurred. In those moments, obedience becomes more than a duty. It becomes a declaration that God is still good, even when the way forward is not yet visible 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:8.

    CONCLUSION:
A STORY WITH PURPOSE HOPE & MEANING:
This year may not look like the picture you painted in your mind. But it can still become the story God is writing with your life. And His stories, even in the unexpected, always carry purpose, hope, and meaning Romans 8:28.

    Prayer:
Lord, teach us to release our plans into Your hands (Psalm 37:5). Give us grace to trust You when You interrupt our expectations, and courage to follow You even when the way is unclear. Amen.

    Goodwill Message:
May this week bring peace to your heart, clarity to your steps, and strength to walk steadily in God’s perfect will (Isaiah 26:3; Psalm 119:105).

    HAPPY GLORIOUS SUNDAY
    HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK.

THIS WEEK, YOU ARE HIGHLY FAVORED!
    SHALOM.

    JESUS LOVES YOU; AND,
    HE TRULY CARES FOR YOU.

    PLAN INTERRUPTION OR NOT!
    JESUS IS COMING BACK AGAIN!!
REPENT AND BE READY FOR HIM!!!

GLORIOUS SUNDAY SERMON OF 18TH JANUARY 2026 LESSON: GENESIS 12:1-5 TOPIC: WHEN GOD INTERRUPTS YOUR PLANS: TEXT: A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 ( NKJV). INTRODUCTION: We all stepped into this year carrying plans, prayers, and pictures in our minds of how life should unfold. EXPOSITION: [1]. THE COMFORT OF OUR OWN BLUEPRINT: Our plans often grow out of what we can measure, predict, and control. [2]. DIVINE INTERRUPTIONS ARE NOT DISTRACTIONS: When God enters a person’s story, He rarely brings a full explanation with Him. [3]. OBEDIENCE IN THE MIDDLE OF UNCERTAINTY: There is a quiet kind of faith that continues to walk even when the road is not clear. It prays when answers seem slow. It serves when the future feels blurred. In those moments, obedience becomes more than a duty. It becomes a declaration that God is still good, even when the way forward is not yet visible 2 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 11:8. CONCLUSION: A STORY WITH PURPOSE HOPE & MEANING: This year may not look like the picture you painted in your mind. But it can still become the story God is writing with your life. And His stories, even in the unexpected, always carry purpose, hope, and meaning Romans 8:28. Prayer: Lord, teach us to release our plans into Your hands (Psalm 37:5). Give us grace to trust You when You interrupt our expectations, and courage to follow You even when the way is unclear. Amen. Goodwill Message: May this week bring peace to your heart, clarity to your steps, and strength to walk steadily in God’s perfect will (Isaiah 26:3; Psalm 119:105). HAPPY GLORIOUS SUNDAY HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK. THIS WEEK, YOU ARE HIGHLY FAVORED! SHALOM. JESUS LOVES YOU; AND, HE TRULY CARES FOR YOU. PLAN INTERRUPTION OR NOT! JESUS IS COMING BACK AGAIN!! REPENT AND BE READY FOR HIM!!! 🙋With Love from Pastor M O Glorious, CAC Palace of Mercy, Royal District, Restoration Zone. 56 Zone B CDA, Damolapa, Laketu, Lucky Fibre, Ikorodu North, Lagos state, Nigeria. • We cannot love the world and love God. A choice has to be made. May God help us to bid the world and its ways goodbye. I'd rather be on God's side anytime, anyway.
