• IN CHRIST, YOU HAVE PEACE

    “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 KJV

    Beloved, as Jesus prepared to go to the Cross, He assured His disciples that in Him, they would have peace. The word ‘peace’ comes from the Hebrew word ‘Shalom,’ which signifies completeness, nothing broken, nothing missing. In Him, we have that perfect peace! Jesus is free from sickness, poverty, and sin; therefore, you too are free from them.

    The world is full of tribulation, yet in Christ, you have peace. So, do not fear or be anxious. Be of good cheer, for Jesus has already taken care of it all. He has stripped the world of its power to harm you. The enemy may bring challenges against your life, but Jesus lifts you up and protects you.

    The Bible declares in 1 John 5:4: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” As a child of God, you are a world overcomer. The systems and struggles of the world are already under your feet. Do not allow the world to intimidate or discourage you. In Christ, you are above every worldly system because you are born of God.

    The enemy cannot trip you. Sin cannot dominate your life because you know who you are. You cannot fail, and you cannot be overtaken by sickness, for the seed of God resides in you. The seed of God and sin cannot coexist. The seed of God and failure cannot coexist. The seed of God and sickness cannot coexist.

    You carry the seed of God in you. The evil one cannot touch you. In all things, you are more than a conqueror. In Him, you have peace. You will not die; you will live and prosper in the fullness of His victory.

    Further Reading: John 16:20-33, Isaiah 26:3.

  • THE HIGH COST OF UNVETTED TRUST: BIBLICAL WISDOM ON NATIONAL, SPIRITUAL, AND MINISTERIAL BOUNDARIES

    1/ Proverbs 20:16 in the NASB 1995 reads: "Take his garment when he becomes surety for a stranger; And for foreigners, hold him in pledge." While modern ears might find this instruction severe, Scripture is providing an essential lesson on stewardship, governance, and spiritual boundaries.

    2/ On a physical and economic level, standing as surety means guaranteeing the debt of another person. Biblical wisdom warns that co-signing for a stranger without collateral or proof of character is financial recklessness. Entrusting capital to unproven individuals invites ruin for households, corporations, and entire nations.

    3/ Today, political movements frequently weaponize Old Testament commands to love the stranger, selectively stripping those verses of their original context. Ancient biblical law did extend hospitality to foreigners, but it explicitly required assimilation, obedience to the law of the land, and a commitment to the nation's God and moral order.

    4/ Socialist and progressive ideologies warp these scriptures to justify open-ended state funding and unchecked immigration. True Christian charity is voluntary, sacrificial, and wise. Forcing taxpayers to act as financial guarantors for unvetted foreigners is not compassion; it is state-mandated recklessness that violates biblical principles of stewardship.

    5/ When leaders compel a country to assume responsibility for individuals who have not demonstrated worthiness or a commitment to assimilate, they destroy the foundation of the nation state. A government that bankrupts its own citizens to fund unproven entities abdicates its primary duty: to protect and serve its own household first.

    6/ On a spiritual level, this verse addresses the guardrails of the mind and heart. In scripture, garments represent our moral standing, thoughts, words, and choices. When you become surety for a stranger spiritually, you are allowing unvetted ideas, worldly philosophies, or destructive habits to take host in your soul.

    7/ This same betrayal occurs within controlling and abusive Christian ministries. When spiritual leaders twist the Word of God by blending it with Greek philosophy, secular ideologies, or humanistic psychology to dominate others, they give in to their own evil inclination. By substituting man's wisdom for divine truth, they cross over into the realm of spiritual idolatry.

    8/ These abusive systems surrender the pure garments of faith to foreign deceptions. By replacing biblical truth with psychological manipulation and authoritarian control, they abandon true shepherdhood and lead believers onto the other side of spiritual corruption.

    9/ God calls His people to be generous, but never naive. Genuine compassion always operates within the framework of order, law, and absolute truth. Whether in national policy, church leadership, or personal faith, true strength requires discerning boundaries over reckless sentimentality and subtle heresy.

    TOPIC: NOTHING WITHOUT HIM

    KEY VERSE:
    "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." - (John 15:5).

    READ: John 15:1-5 (KJV)

    MESSAGE:
    Humanity has witnessed incredible feats over the centuries, especially in the fields of science and technology. While these developments have improved the standard of living across the world, it has equally fuelled or, at the most, reinforced atheistic and contemptuous dispositions of despisers of God. Some folks, indeed, think that God should completely stay away from the affairs of earthlings. They can boast of transgender surgery that changes sex identity at birth to something that God did not intend, all in an attempt to part ways with Him. Unknown to such warped minds, they are only trying to deform or alter what God has created. The effective way of parting ways with God would have been to create their own man or woman before meddling with their features, but not from the dust of the soil which He created. This is simply impossible!

    Our Lord Jesus Christ was unequivocal about man's grave inability to exist or function without Him. Just as man and his habitat could not have come into existence without Him, so we would always lean on Him, not only for sustenance, but also for survival. We live at the pleasure of God. Our breath comes from Him. Nature, through its atmosphere, land, vegetation, oceans, and rivers, from which we draw what we consume in food, manufacturing, and industry, belongs to Him. The feeble man is humiliatingly overwhelmed by his Creator.

    Thus helplessly exposed, man must not be arrogant or presumptuous because of any inventions, whose feats and contraptions are toys as they stand in contrast to the great galactic formations overlooking our planet. We must revere the One Who brought them forth. It's contemptuous to contemn Him by telling Him we have had enough of Him, and that we can take care of ourselves.

    Everyone needs God and His unfailing love and laws more than ever before to deliver them from the trap and deadly consequences of sin. We need more of Christ's presence to dominate our souls, government structures, homes, schools, public places, and worship centres. We need His peace in a troubled world on the brink of collapse. We need Him also to usher us into the hereafter of eternal joy.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    SUNDAY AUGUST 2, 2O26.
    "TAKE THE PLUNGE (2)"

    ‘…Underneath are the everlasting arms...’ Deuteronomy 33:27 NKJV

    PICTURE THIS: A father and his two small children are playing. He’s in the swimming pool, and he invites them to run and jump into his arms. One does, the other doesn’t. The one who doesn’t, watches gleefully, applauds, and jumps up and down. But when her dad invites her to do the same she shakes her head and backs away. Is that you? Living on the edge of the pool, never taking the plunge, happy to experience life vicariously through others? Preferring to take no risk, rather than any risk? For fear of the worst, you never enjoy the best. You say, ‘But I’m not sure what I’m jumping into!’ Read this: ‘Underneath are the everlasting arms.’ Foolishness is closing your eyes and jumping before you know there’s even water in the pool, or that your father has said, ‘Come, I’ll catch you.’ Faith is knowing that the only way to conquer your fear of the water is to take the leap, because the One who is calling you has been there for you from the moment you became His child. Nothing is more important to Him than your safety, the development of your faith, and your total success in life. God told Joshua, ‘…arise, go over this Jordan…to the land which I am giving Eunice Gankpe …Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go’ (Joshua 1:2, 7 NKJV). Note the words, ‘Arise, go, be strong.’ In other words: take the plunge!

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham" (John 8:39).*_
    Has someone ever told you that you resemble one of your parents? That can only happen if that person has known your parents before. However, that remark may only be true about your physical appearance, but not in your conduct.
    There are some children, of course, whose physical appearance and conduct are entirely different from those of their parents. That means, good and godly parents can produce bad and wicked children, like the case of Eli and his sons.
    Jesus knows who Abraham was (John 8:58). The Lord said He could not see any part of the character of the children of Israel that resembled that of Abraham they claimed to be their father. How could they claim to be children of Abraham who feared, obeyed and loved God, and yet go against the way and the will of God? Jesus concluded that they were children of the devil and not of Abraham (John 8:44).
    One's behaviour betrays him or her. No one can hate Christ, disobey His word, reject Him as Saviour and even want to kill Him, and claim to be a child of God. There are many people who use religion as a cover-up to hate and reject Christ. That is because they do not know the true God at all.
    *Are you one of those children who say they are children of God, friends of Jesus, but their behaviours are sinful and ungodly? It is only through your Christ-like and righteous life that others can know whether you are a true friend of Jesus or not.*
    *ABIDING IN CHRIST: THE SECRET OF A FRUITFUL LIFE*
    *TEXT:* JOHN 15:1–5
    1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
    2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
    3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
    4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
    5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
    *TimelessTruth:*
    _Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord._ (1 Corinthians 15:58).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    George Washington Carver (1864–1943), the renowned agricultural scientist and devoted Christian, transformed farming in the southern United States by encouraging crop rotation and better soil management. He often spent time in prayer before beginning his research, believing that wisdom came from God. Carver once remarked, "I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour." One of the lessons farmers understand is that a branch separated from the vine cannot bear fruit, regardless of how healthy it once appeared. Its life depends entirely upon its connection to the vine. The branch does not struggle to produce fruit; it simply remains connected, and the life of the vine flows through it.
    Jesus used this familiar agricultural picture in John 15 to teach one of the greatest truths of the Christian life: fruitfulness is the result of abiding in Him. *"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.*
    ( Jeremiah 17:7–8)
    Our effectiveness in Christian living does not depend upon our talents, education or strength, but upon our continual fellowship with Christ.
    His followers, are not merely to admire the Vine, but to abide in it. The Christian life is not sustained by occasional moments of devotion, but by a continual relationship with Christ. The branch has no independent life. Its strength, nourishment and fruitfulness all come from the vine. Likewise, believers flourish only as they remain connected to Jesus through faith, obedience, prayer and His Word.
    This passage challenges us to examine our lives:
    Are we merely attached to Christ outwardly or are we truly abiding in Him?
    Are we busy with religious activity while neglecting personal fellowship with the Saviour?
    Is the fruit of the Spirit becoming increasingly evident in our character and conduct?
    God is more concerned with fruitfulness than mere busyness. A fruitful life glorifies Him, blesses others and bears lasting eternal value. When difficulties come, remember that the Father's pruning is not punishment, but preparation. He lovingly removes what hinders growth so that we may bear more fruit. May we daily abide in Christ, depend upon His strength and allow His life to be seen through ours.
    *1. The Source of Fruitfulness*
    a. Jesus identifies Himself as the True Vine and His Father as the Vinedresser.
    Jesus alone is the true source of spiritual life and lasting fruit. The Father lovingly removes unfruitful branches and prunes fruitful ones to increase their productivity.
    b. God's purpose is not merely that believers exist, but that they bear much fruit for His glory. God desires every believer to grow spiritually. His discipline and pruning are expressions of His love, preparing us for greater usefulness.
    *Questions*
    Am I allowing God to remove attitudes, habits or priorities that hinder my spiritual growth? Is my life producing spiritual fruit that brings glory to God?
    *2. The Secret of Fellowship*
    a. Jesus calls His disciples to remain in Him continually.
    The disciples had been made clean through Christ's teaching. Abiding is a daily, deliberate choice to remain in close fellowship with Christ.
    *Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving*
    (Colossians 4:2).
    b. Spiritual life flourishes through constant dependence upon Jesus. A fruitful Christian life is maintained by regular prayer, Bible study, worship and obedience.
    *Questions*
    What practical habits help me remain closely connected with Christ each day. Am I spending time with Christ consistently or only when difficulties arise?*
    *3. The Strength of Dependence*
    a.Jesus declares that apart from Him, believers can do nothing of eternal value. Every ability for effective Christian living comes from Christ.
    Apostle Paul declared: *“I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)* Fruitfulness begins when believers surrender completely to Christ's leadership.
    b. Those who abide in Christ bear much fruit because His life flows through them.
    Lasting spiritual success is not achieved through self-effort, but through continual dependence upon Christ.
    *Questions*
    Am I relying on my own strength or on Christ's power in my daily life and ministry? Can others see evidence of Christ's life and character in me?
    *Prayer Points*
    1. Lord Jesus, help me to abide in You daily through prayer, obedience and Your Word.
    2. Father, produce in my life the fruit of the Holy Spirit that glorifies Your name.
    3. Lord, give me grace to accept Your loving discipline so that I may become more useful in Your service.
    4. Heavenly Father, keep me from relying on my own strength and teach me to depend entirely upon Christ.
    *Hymn:* I am Thine Oh Lord.
    *THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 4-5.
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ⏤ Psalm 118:24
    The soul needs Sabbath to rest and recharge. ⏤ Wesley L. Duewel
    O God, we thank You for this holy Sunday. It is Your day, honored and made sacred by You from the beginning. It was made even more holy by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is full of holy hopes as it reminds us of the eternal rest in Heaven. We thank You for all that this day means to us in our personal lives and for the blessings it has brought to our home. We thank You for its quiet rest, that we can cease from our weekday toil and spend the day with You.
    May You make this a day of real blessing to us. May Heaven’s windows be opened, and may holy blessings be poured upon us. Bless our home life today. May we grow closer together as a family. May our affection be sweetened. Fill our hearts with Your love—then we will love each other as we should. Bless our home conversation. May it be beneficial to us, ministering grace to our hearts, and may it be worthy of the day. Help us to shut out of our lives anything that is worldly or unworthy of You. May Your Spirit fill our home, bringing gentle, enriching influences.
    Bless our worship in Your house. Go with us and help us to honor You in the public services. Open our eyes to see wonderful things in Your word. Sanctify the worship and instruction we receive in the sanctuary. May we be so blessed in our hearts by waiting on You that we will be ready for good service all week.
    Help us also to be a blessing to others today. Fill us with Your Spirit so that every life that touches ours will receive a blessing from us.
    We ask all these Sunday blessings from Your hand, humbly, faithfully, and joyfully, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀💝🌺🎁🌹🎀 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY SUNDAY AUGUST 2, 2O26. "TAKE THE PLUNGE (2)" ‘…Underneath are the everlasting arms...’ Deuteronomy 33:27 NKJV PICTURE THIS: A father and his two small children are playing. He’s in the swimming pool, and he invites them to run and jump into his arms. One does, the other doesn’t. The one who doesn’t, watches gleefully, applauds, and jumps up and down. But when her dad invites her to do the same she shakes her head and backs away. Is that you? Living on the edge of the pool, never taking the plunge, happy to experience life vicariously through others? Preferring to take no risk, rather than any risk? For fear of the worst, you never enjoy the best. You say, ‘But I’m not sure what I’m jumping into!’ Read this: ‘Underneath are the everlasting arms.’ Foolishness is closing your eyes and jumping before you know there’s even water in the pool, or that your father has said, ‘Come, I’ll catch you.’ Faith is knowing that the only way to conquer your fear of the water is to take the leap, because the One who is calling you has been there for you from the moment you became His child. Nothing is more important to Him than your safety, the development of your faith, and your total success in life. God told Joshua, ‘…arise, go over this Jordan…to the land which I am giving [you] …Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go’ (Joshua 1:2, 7 NKJV). Note the words, ‘Arise, go, be strong.’ In other words: take the plunge! Bible In A Year: Deut 28-29, Matt 13:47-58, Ps 119:1-8, Pro 17:3. While these developments have improved the standard of living across the world, it has equally fuelled or, at most, reinforced atheistic and contemptuous dispositions of despisers of God. Some folks, indeed, think that God should completely stay away from the affairs of earthlings. They can boast of transgender surgery that changes sex identity at birth to something that God did not intend, all in an attempt to part ways with Him. Unknown to such warped minds, they are only trying to deform or alter what God has created. The effective way of parting ways with God would have been to create their own man or woman before meddling with their features, but not from the dust of the soil which He created. This is simply impossible!* *Our Lord Jesus Christ was unequivocal about man's grave inability to exist or function without Him. Just as man and his habitat could not have come into existence without Him, so we should always lean on Him, not only for sustenance, but also for survival. We live at the pleasure of God. Our breath comes from Him. Nature, through its atmosphere, land, vegetation, oceans, and rivers, from which we draw what we consume in food, manufacturing, and industry, belongs to Him. The feeble man is humiliatingly overwhelmed by his Creator.* *Thus helplessly exposed, man must not be arrogant or presumptuous because of any inventions, whose feats and contraptions are toys as they stand in contrast to the great galactic formations overlooking our planet. We must revere the One Who brought them forth. It's contemptuous to contemn Him by telling Him we have had enough of Him, and that we can take care of ourselves.* *Everyone needs God and His unfailing love and laws more than ever before to deliver them from the trap and deadly consequences of sin. We need more of Christ's presence to dominate our souls, government structures, homes, schools, public places, and worship centres. We need His peace in a troubled world on the brink of collapse. That can only happen if that person has known your parents before. However, that remark may only be true about your physical appearance, but not in your conduct. There are some children, of course, whose physical appearance and conduct are entirely different from those of their parents. That means, good and godly parents can produce bad and wicked children, like the case of Eli and his sons. Jesus knows who Abraham was (John 8:58). The Lord said He could not see any part of the character of the children of Israel that resembled that of Abraham they claimed to be their father. How could they claim to be children of Abraham who feared, obeyed and loved God, and yet go against the way and the will of God? Jesus concluded that they were children of the devil and not of Abraham (John 8:44). One's behaviour betrays him or her. No one can hate Christ, disobey His word, reject Him as Saviour and even want to kill Him, and claim to be a child of God. There are many people who use religion as a cover-up to hate and reject Christ. That is because they do not know the true God at all. *Are you one of those children who say they are children of God, friends of Jesus, but their behaviours are sinful and ungodly? It is only through your Christ-like and righteous life that others can know whether you are a true friend of Jesus or not.* 🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 ```🅿️rayer:``` _*Lord, in all my desires and lifestyle, help me to be like You.*_ 🙏🏽 ```📖 Further Reading:``` *Titus 1:14-16* Children Unlike Their Father https://dailymanna.app// *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#SincereMilk2ndAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [01/08, 8:46 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* SUNDAY, 2ND AUGUST, 2026 *ABIDING IN CHRIST: THE SECRET OF A FRUITFUL LIFE* *TEXT:* JOHN 15:1–5 1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. *TimelessTruth:* _Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord._ (1 Corinthians 15:58). *INTRODUCTION* George Washington Carver (1864–1943), the renowned agricultural scientist and devoted Christian, transformed farming in the southern United States by encouraging crop rotation and better soil management. He often spent time in prayer before beginning his research, believing that wisdom came from God. Carver once remarked, "I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour." One of the lessons farmers understand is that a branch separated from the vine cannot bear fruit, regardless of how healthy it once appeared. Its life depends entirely upon its connection to the vine. The branch does not struggle to produce fruit; it simply remains connected, and the life of the vine flows through it. Jesus used this familiar agricultural picture in John 15 to teach one of the greatest truths of the Christian life: fruitfulness is the result of abiding in Him. *"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.* ( Jeremiah 17:7–8) Our effectiveness in Christian living does not depend upon our talents, education or strength, but upon our continual fellowship with Christ. His followers, are not merely to admire the Vine, but to abide in it. The Christian life is not sustained by occasional moments of devotion, but by a continual relationship with Christ. The branch has no independent life. Its strength, nourishment and fruitfulness all come from the vine. Likewise, believers flourish only as they remain connected to Jesus through faith, obedience, prayer and His Word. This passage challenges us to examine our lives: Are we merely attached to Christ outwardly or are we truly abiding in Him? Are we busy with religious activity while neglecting personal fellowship with the Saviour? Is the fruit of the Spirit becoming increasingly evident in our character and conduct? God is more concerned with fruitfulness than mere busyness. A fruitful life glorifies Him, blesses others and bears lasting eternal value. When difficulties come, remember that the Father's pruning is not punishment, but preparation. He lovingly removes what hinders growth so that we may bear more fruit. May we daily abide in Christ, depend upon His strength and allow His life to be seen through ours. *1. The Source of Fruitfulness* a. Jesus identifies Himself as the True Vine and His Father as the Vinedresser. Jesus alone is the true source of spiritual life and lasting fruit. The Father lovingly removes unfruitful branches and prunes fruitful ones to increase their productivity. b. God's purpose is not merely that believers exist, but that they bear much fruit for His glory. God desires every believer to grow spiritually. His discipline and pruning are expressions of His love, preparing us for greater usefulness. *Questions* Am I allowing God to remove attitudes, habits or priorities that hinder my spiritual growth? Is my life producing spiritual fruit that brings glory to God? *2. The Secret of Fellowship* a. Jesus calls His disciples to remain in Him continually. The disciples had been made clean through Christ's teaching. Abiding is a daily, deliberate choice to remain in close fellowship with Christ. *Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving* (Colossians 4:2). b. Spiritual life flourishes through constant dependence upon Jesus. A fruitful Christian life is maintained by regular prayer, Bible study, worship and obedience. *Questions* What practical habits help me remain closely connected with Christ each day. Am I spending time with Christ consistently or only when difficulties arise?* *3. The Strength of Dependence* a.Jesus declares that apart from Him, believers can do nothing of eternal value. Every ability for effective Christian living comes from Christ. Apostle Paul declared: *“I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)* Fruitfulness begins when believers surrender completely to Christ's leadership. b. Those who abide in Christ bear much fruit because His life flows through them. Lasting spiritual success is not achieved through self-effort, but through continual dependence upon Christ. *Questions* Am I relying on my own strength or on Christ's power in my daily life and ministry? Can others see evidence of Christ's life and character in me? *Prayer Points* 1. Lord Jesus, help me to abide in You daily through prayer, obedience and Your Word.🙏 2. Father, produce in my life the fruit of the Holy Spirit that glorifies Your name.🙏 3. Lord, give me grace to accept Your loving discipline so that I may become more useful in Your service.🙏 4. Heavenly Father, keep me from relying on my own strength and teach me to depend entirely upon Christ.🙏 *Hymn:* I am Thine Oh Lord. *THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 4-5. 2. Morning Prayer for today.     All to god's glory.
    “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31, NKJV).
    Read for This Week’s Study: 1 Corinthians 8; Acts 15:20; 1 Cor. 9:1–6; 1 Cor. 10:5–22; Deut. 6:4, 5; Mark 12:28–31.
    First Corinthians 8–10 brings the discussion on sexuality (in chapters 5–6) to a conclusion at the same time that it introduces Paul’s answers to specific questions asked through a letter (1 Cor. 7:1) from the Corinthians. These answers will dominate the remainder of 1 Corinthians.
    The transitional nature of 1 Corinthians 7 indicates that sexual immorality (chapters 5–7) and idolatry (chapters 8–10) are related topics. Indeed, they are often mentioned together in the New Testament (see Acts 15:20, 29; Acts 21:25; 1 Cor. 6:9; Eph. 5:5; Col. 3:5; Rev. 21:8; Rev. 22:15).
    In general, while in 1 Corinthians 5–7 Paul deals with the problem of sexual immorality, in 1 Corinthians 8–10 his main concern is the issue of idolatry. He states that Christians must flee from both (1 Cor. 6:18, 1 Cor. 10:14).
    Last week, we saw that by being a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19, 20), one can flee from sexual immorality. This week, we will see that one can flee from idolatry by doing “all to the glory of God” (1 Cor. 10:31, NKJV).
  • God’s Blueprint for the Family
    In a world where truth is often redefined to fit our desires, God’s Word remains unchanging. From the beginning, God created Adam and Eve—not by accident, but by divine design. Marriage was established by God as the lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, united in love, faithfulness, and commitment. From this union, families are nurtured, children are raised, and God’s love is reflected to the world.
    A biblical marriage is never a license for control, abuse, or fear. A husband is not called to dominate his wife, nor is a wife called to live in fear of her husband. Scripture calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the Church—sacrificially, patiently, and selflessly (Ephesians 5:25). Wives are called to respect and support their husbands, and both are called to submit to one another in reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21). Physical, emotional, verbal, or sexual abuse has no place in a home that bears the name of Christ. Love never humiliates, manipulates, or destroys—it protects, forgives, and builds up.
    The Bible consistently presents marriage as the covenant union of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6). It also teaches that sexual intimacy belongs within that covenant and calls believers to holiness in every area of life. Christians who follow Scripture seek to uphold this teaching not because they believe themselves to be better than others, but because they believe God’s design is wise, good, and life-giving.
    At the same time, the gospel reminds us that every human being is created in the image of God and is deeply loved by Him. Every one of us has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), and every one of us is invited to receive His grace through Jesus Christ. The Church is called to speak the truth with love, extending compassion, dignity, and the hope of the gospel to all people.
    Our culture may change, but God’s Word does not. His design for marriage, family, and holy living is not meant to limit us but to lead us into lives of faithfulness, peace, and lasting joy. The strongest homes are not built on shifting opinions but on the unchanging foundation of Christ.
    SEEK CHRIST FIRST IN EVERY CHALLENGE
    Scripture Reading:
    1 Corinthians 11:3 (AMPC)
    "But I want you to know and realize that Christ is the Head of every man, the head of a woman is her husband, and the Head of Christ is God."
    God established order in the family to promote love, unity, and mutual care. When His design is honored, relationships flourish; when it is ignored, unnecessary conflict and confusion often follow.
    In marriage, seasons may come when one spouse appears stronger than the other financially, emotionally, or professionally. However, temporary circumstances should never become an excuse to dominate, manipulate, or disregard the biblical principles of love, honor, and mutual submission to Christ. Marriage is a covenant built on service, respect, and partnership—not competition for control.
    When disagreements or disappointments arise, it is tempting to seek sympathy from friends, relatives, or others before seeking God's direction. While there are times when wise, trusted counsel is appropriate, our first response should be to bring our burdens before the Lord in prayer. Christ, who is the Head of every man and the Lord of every home, is able to guide, convict, restore, and transform hearts in ways that human opinion cannot.
    Before speaking about your spouse to others, take the matter to God. Pray with faith, ask for wisdom, and trust Him to work in both your heart and your spouse's heart. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words, attitudes, and actions. Many conflicts are resolved more effectively when they are surrendered to Christ rather than fueled by public complaints or uncontrolled emotions.
    Let your home be built on prayer, humility, forgiveness, and unwavering confidence in God's wisdom. As you submit your challenges to Him, He will lead you in the path of peace and strengthen your marriage according to His perfect will.
    Prayer:
    Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom found in Your Word. Teach me to honor Your design for my home and to seek You first in every challenge I face. Fill my heart with humility, patience, and love, and help me to trust You to work in every situation. May my marriage and my family reflect Your peace, Your order, and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Christ, who is the Head of every man and the Lord of every home, is able to guide, convict, restore, and transform hearts in ways that human opinion cannot. Before speaking about your spouse to others, take the matter to God. Pray with faith, ask for wisdom, and trust Him to work in both your heart and your spouse's heart. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words, attitudes, and actions. Many conflicts are resolved more effectively when they are surrendered to Christ rather than fueled by public complaints or uncontrolled emotions. Let your home be built on prayer, humility, forgiveness, and unwavering confidence in God's wisdom. As you submit your challenges to Him, He will lead you in the path of peace and strengthen your marriage according to His perfect will. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom found in Your Word. Teach me to honor Your design for my home and to seek You first in every challenge I face. Fill my heart with humility, patience, and love, and help me to trust You to work in every situation. May my marriage and my family reflect Your peace, Your order, and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen. Bible Reading: Psalm 1:1–3; Jeremiah 17:17–19 Wisdom Capsule: Proverbs 3:14 (MSG) "She's worth far more than money in the bank; her friendship is better than a big salary."
    THE GREAT DEBATE: SHOULD CHRISTIANS LISTEN TO SECULAR MUSIC?
    Message Written by Evang Bright Ikedichi
    This is one of the most controversial topics in the Body of Christ today.
    Some believers say there is nothing wrong with listening to secular music as long as the lyrics are clean and uplifting.
    Others believe Christians should completely avoid secular music because it can influence the mind, emotions, and spiritual life in ways that draw people away from God.
    So what does the Bible actually teach?
    Before we answer that question, we must understand something important.
    Music is not just sound.
    Music is one of the most powerful forces on earth. It affects emotions, shapes thinking, influences behavior, and can even impact spiritual atmosphere.
    Throughout Scripture, music was used to worship God, celebrate victories, express repentance, and communicate spiritual truths.
    When David played his harp, the evil spirit troubling Saul departed for a season. This shows that music can affect the spiritual environment around a person.
    Because music carries influence, believers must be careful about what they continually allow into their hearts and minds.
    The real issue is not simply whether a song is labeled "Christian" or "secular."
    The deeper question is this:
    What message is the music promoting?
    Does it glorify God or glorify sin?
    Does it encourage holiness or encourage worldliness?
    Does it strengthen your faith or weaken your spiritual sensitivity?
    Many secular songs promote pride, immorality, greed, revenge, lust, violence, drunkenness, and rebellion against God's standards.
    When believers repeatedly feed their minds on such messages, those messages can gradually shape their thoughts and attitudes.
    The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:8 to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.
    This verse gives Christians a powerful filter for evaluating every form of entertainment, including music.
    At the same time, it is important to avoid legalism.
    Not every song produced by a non-Christian artist automatically promotes evil.
    Some songs discuss family, kindness, perseverance, hard work, love, and positive values without directly opposing biblical principles.
    This is why wisdom and discernment are necessary.
    A believer should not merely ask, "Is this music popular?"
    The better question is, "What is this music producing inside me?"
    Does it increase my love for God?
    Does it strengthen my spiritual walk?
    Or does it stir desires, attitudes, and behaviors that pull me away from Christ?
    The danger comes when music begins to dominate a believer's heart more than God's presence.
    Many Christians can spend hours listening to music every day but struggle to spend a few minutes reading the Bible or praying.
    That should concern us.
    Anything that consistently pulls our affection away from God deserves careful examination.
    The Bible says we should guard our hearts because out of them flow the issues of life.
    What enters the heart repeatedly will eventually influence the direction of life.
    This does not mean believers should live in fear.
    It means believers should live with discernment.
    Every Christian must honestly evaluate the music they consume and ask whether it is helping them grow spiritually or slowly weakening their hunger for God.
    The goal is not merely avoiding bad music.
    The goal is becoming more like Christ.
    When that becomes the priority, many decisions become much easier.
    The question is not simply whether Christians can listen to secular music.
    The greater question is whether the music we listen to is drawing us closer to God or further away from Him.
    TEACHING SUMMARY
    Music is a powerful influence that can shape thoughts, emotions, attitudes, and spiritual sensitivity. Christians should not evaluate music merely by labels but by its message, influence, and effect on their relationship with God.
    Believers are called to exercise wisdom and discernment, ensuring that what they listen to aligns with biblical values and supports spiritual growth. The ultimate standard is whether the music strengthens faith, promotes holiness, and helps believers become more like Christ.
    Let us learn and reason together.
    Do you believe Christians should completely avoid secular music, or should they use biblical discernment when choosing what to listen to?
    Has music ever positively or negatively influenced your spiritual life?
  • Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…
    Over the past year many of the devotions I have written have included this verse. We have looked at each virtue separately, depending upon the theme for that month. And today we look at it again, this time focusing on peace.
    All of the virtues collectively are called the fruit of the Spirit. They are not fruits, plural. Together they are one fruit. And that fruit comes from and through the Holy Spirit. This fruit is produced naturally in believers who make the effort to stay connected to their faith and grow through His grace. These qualities also reflect God’s character. And they cannot be produced individually on their own. Anything that we produce on our own is nothing compared to that which the Spirit gives. Jesus told us He does not give as the world gives (John 14:27). What He gives is so much more, so much better, more valuable than anything we can imagine or experience.
    The Greek word used for peace is once again eirene which we have learned about numerous times. The peace we experience within the fruit of the Spirit is more than just an absence of conflict or trouble. It is a completeness, wholeness, and well-being with God and others. This peace is a calm assurance that remains steady during life's challenges because we know Who we rely on and Who is faithful to bring us through those challenges.
    One author put it this way: “When a person is dominated by eirene (“peace”), he has a calm, inner stability that results in the ability to conduct himself peacefully, even in the midst of circumstances that would normally be very nerve-racking, traumatic, or upsetting.” (https://renner.org/article/joy-and-peace/)
    Isn’t that comforting? We can go about our business knowing that God’s peace rules in our lives. As long as we remain in Him, we can be filled with His fruit of peace. It doesn’t matter how chaotic life may get, His peace will dominate as long as we remember to seek Him.
    Today let’s walk into our day filled with peace. Ask God to bless you with the fruit of peace in every situation and circumstance you encounter today. And don’t forget to thank Him for being the peace in the midst of uncertainty and chaos.
