When a Christian goes to work each day, God holds them accountable for adding, enhancing and improving things in their workplace. Jesus told the story of three men who were each given money. One was given five bags of it, another two, and another one. The first two ‘…went and traded with them, and gained…’ (Matthew 25:16 NAS). They showed skill, initiative, and made 100 percent profit. So they were commended by their master. But the third man just punched the clock, called in sick, didn’t train, try, dare, or do. So his job review didn’t go too well. And Jesus said something that ought to make us all sit up and take notice: ‘To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.’ That means if your attitude and work ethic are poor, you’re in trouble with God. So, let’s stop and think about your job. If Jesus were your supervisor, would you do your work any differently? How would you answer the phone, type documents, treat your employees, or teach your pupils if Jesus were checking your work? As a citizen of God’s kingdom you need to periodically review your attitude on the job, solicit feedback on how you can grow, demonstrate love and grace to those you work with, make your company profitable, and enjoy the work you do. The promises of being "revived after two days" and "restored on the third day" symbolised God's readiness to bring spiritual renewal to those who returned to Him.* *Christians today have important lessons to learn. True healing, whether it is healing from guilt, broken relationships, spiritual dryness or backsliding, begins with repentance. It is not just about feeling remorse but about acknowledging your sins, seeking God's forgiveness, and making a decisive turn toward Him.* *In our modern world, temptations and sin often pull people away from God. All these show man's deliberate responsibilities in order to keep the blessings of God for a long time . In 1948, a released christian newsletter during the time of revivalist Abraham Branham reads. “All the great outpourings of the past have had their outstanding truths. Luther’s truth was Justification by Faith. Wesley’s was Sanctification. The Baptists taught the premillennial coming of Christ. The Missionary Alliance taught Divine Healing. The Pentecostal outpouring has restored the Baptism of the Holy Ghost to its rightful place. But, the next great outpouring is going to be marked by all these other truths plus such a demonstration of the nine gifts of the Spirit as the world, not even the Apostolic world, has ever witnessed before. This revival will be short and will be the last before the Rapture of the Church.” The consolation and joy is that whatever great and wonderful experiences we have enjoyed in the past can still be restored by God if man does the needful. This is the message of Hosea to Israel and the godly. *1. Call to Return to God* a. Adam, representing the man of all ages, started with God, but departed from God and many woes followed. In order to vacate the woes, the message of God is simple, return to God. All the woes, challenges, calamities, anguish, backslidings and challenges of man have only one divine prescription: Return to God. Returning to God requires turning or change. Man is generally, reluctant to change. This is one of Newton's Laws of Motion. Willingness to turn is generally, where the problem of man lies. The turning to God requires acceptance of wrongs towards God, decisions with appropriate steps and asking God for forgiveness without self justification. It involves deliberate action of repentance. Repentance from what cause the loss of good old blessings, including repentance from sin, unforgiving spirit, bitterness against neighbours and perhaps God, love of the world, selective obedience to the command of God in any area etc., are just what God is looking for before He pours down His blessings afresh. God did not see that turning or repentance in Adam and Eve. Both of them were busy giving excuses and blaming each other. Neither fully admitted his/her obvious wrong and neither fully repented and returned to God. The repercussion was that they never got the blessing they lost back. They were driven from the beautiful, blessed and blissful garden. If they had returned to God with words of soberness and repentance, the story would have been different for them and the whole humanity. All lost blessings from God are only returned after turning and repentance from the root cause. b. The message of God is the same. *"Come, and let us return unto the LORD"*. Stop the blame game. Stop the murmuring and complain. The promise of God for the repentant is valid at all times and in all generations. *"For he hath torn, and he will heal us"*. When your garment of glory is torn, when your shining regalia of blessings is torn, when the source of your joy is torn, the immediate and uncompromisable demand of God and solution is to turn to God. *"He hath smitten, and he will bind us up"*. This is a word of assurance for those who take the courage to turn from their evil ways, carelessness and compromise. *Question* Assess your life where you have departed from God and your old consecration to God and His word. Are you willing to turn? Start today. *2. Comforting Revival Through Grace* a. Has Israel not gone too far to an irredeemable damnable and bitter experience? God, through Hosea says NO. When there is possibility and willingness to turn, the promise to restore and revive is always unbreakable. Jesus said, *"the scripture cannot be broken."* Hosea used the picture of Calvary and the resurrection of Jesus on the third day to show the reality and restoration of revival for dead bones. *"After two days will he revive us"*. After two days is the third day including all other days after the third day. It shows the beginning of revival on the third day and the continuity of revival after the third day. *"In the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight"*. The resurrection of Jesus Christ has assurably made possible the restoration of any dead soul and experiences even when it appears they are already stinking spiritually in the grave. b. The parable of dead bones in Ezekiel 37 shows that revival and restoration is possible when the Word of God is given a prominent and final say in the life of an individual, family, church or nation. All the revivals the Church has experienced in different ages at a time of total darkness were as a result of giving the Word of God the first and unquestionably place. The same applies to any individual that needs revival. Taking the Word of God at face values drives to repentance including burdened and persistent prayers. Once this is done, the rain will definitely fall and there will be repentance and restoration. *Question* Are you desirous of revival and restoration of past glories in your life? From the explanation above, what is your decision? *3. Continuous Refreshment unto Glory* a. Why blessings are lost and revival is gone is because of lack of continuity in the Old faith and consecration that brought the revival in the first place. Jesus said, *"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples in deed"*. Disciples in deeds are different from disciples in the mouth to profession. Continuity is the key. *"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD"*. Continuous following leads to deeper knowledge and deeper knowledge is manifested by continuous following. *"His going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth"*. The former rain is to prepare the ground for planting while the latter rain is to prepare the crop for harvesting. It is the harvesting that is generally seen, but not the planting time of rigour and sacrifice. He that sows, though not seen by many should sow in hope because harvesting is certain. Rain of the Holy Spirit is needed to sow the seed of repentance, intercession and consecration while rain of the Holy Spirit is also needed to enjoy the harvest of refreshment, restoration and revival. Continuity in sowing the seed of the Word of God and wetting it with tears of prayers and acts of consecration will bring the abundant rain and there will be overflowing joy, revival and restoration again. *Question* Are you determined to continue getting deeper into the Word, prayer and consecration without giving up until the rain falls and there are blessings and visitations from heaven again? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, open my eyes to areas that I need to turn to you afresh and make me willing to pay the price of turning 🙏. 2.Give me the rain of the Spirit that will help me to sow with tears and deeper consecration until the abundant rain falls on my soul, nation and church 🙏. 3.I ask for power and determination to continue seeking your face without giving up and backing out 🙏. 4.Father, send the rain and awaken your Church to true restoration and revival 🙏. *HYMN:* Come Holy Spirit. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 9-12. 2. Help us today, O Jesus, to overcome every temptation. Stand by us and do not let us fall into darkness in any moment of trial. We are also grateful that You know all about sorrow. You have experienced every depth of human pain. There is no sorrow unknown to You, no grief that You cannot understand. Life brings us sorrows, sometimes very deep ones. No human friend can fully understand them. Our loved ones want to help us but cannot take away our pain or give us true comfort. Earth has no sufficient consolation for us. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC CONTENTMENT IN AN AGE OF MATERIALISM. THEME : Learning to be satisfied with God while living in a world that constantly tells us, “You need more.” Key Text: 1 Timothy 6:6–8 > “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1. WHEN IS ENOUGH REALLY ENOUGH? We live in an age where “more” has become a god. More money. More clothes. More followers. More cars. More houses. More recognition. More likes. More possessions. The world keeps telling us: “When you get that car, you will be happy.” “When you build that house, you will be fulfilled.” “When you become famous, you will finally matter.” But after getting one thing, we discover that we immediately want another. That is the trap of materialism. Materialism says, “I have more, therefore I am more.” But Jesus says: > “A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” — Luke 12:15 You can have a beautiful house and still have a broken home. You can have money in your account and emptiness in your soul. You can have thousands of followers and still feel completely alone. You can own many things without allowing those things to own your heart. Contentment is not the absence of ambition. Contentment is the ability to pursue God's purpose without allowing possessions to become your master. 2. WHAT IS BIBLICAL CONTENTMENT? Contentment is a settled confidence that God is enough, even while we are trusting Him for more. Contentment does not mean: You should stop working. You should stop dreaming. You should stop improving yourself. You should refuse legitimate opportunities. You should remain in poverty when God gives you wisdom and opportunity to prosper. Rather, contentment means: “I will work for more, but I will not worship more.” “I will pursue success, but success will not become my god.” “I will appreciate what I have while trusting God for what I don't yet have.” Paul declared: > “For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” — Philippians 4:11 Notice the word learned. Contentment is learned. Nobody automatically becomes content. It requires spiritual maturity. 3. KEY BIBLE VERSES A. 1 Timothy 6:6–8 — GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN Paul says: > “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” Paul does not say money is evil. The Bible says: > “The love of money is the root of all evil.” — 1 Timothy 6:10 The problem is not having possessions. The problem is possessions having you. Money is a useful servant but a terrible master. When money becomes your identity, you become its slave. B. Hebrews 13:5 — GOD'S PRESENCE IS GREATER THAN POSSESSIONS > “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Notice God's solution to covetousness: His presence. Why should I not destroy myself trying to possess everything? Because I already possess something greater: God is with me. If God is with you, you are not empty. C. Matthew 6:33 — SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM > “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Jesus did not say: “Seek possessions first.” He said: “Seek the Kingdom first.” When priorities are right, possessions find their proper place. 4. FOUR DANGERS OF MATERIALISM POINT ONE: MATERIALISM MAKES US CONFUSE POSSESSIONS WITH PURPOSE Some people spend their entire lives acquiring things without discovering why God gave them life. They know what they want to own, but they don't know what they were created to accomplish. Your purpose is bigger than your possessions. You were not born merely to: Buy a car Build a house Wear expensive clothes Travel around the world Accumulate wealth You were created to know God, serve Him, love people, fulfill your assignment, and leave an impact. Jesus asked: > “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36 Never exchange your soul for things that will eventually perish. POINT TWO: MATERIALISM CREATES THE NEVER-ENOUGH SYNDROME Materialism says: “Just one more.” You buy one phone. Then another model comes out. You want it. You buy one car. Then you see another one. You want it. You get one house. Then you start comparing your house with somebody else's. This produces a dangerous cycle: Desire → acquisition → temporary satisfaction → comparison → dissatisfaction → another desire. Ecclesiastes 5:10 says: > “He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver.” There is a level of wealth that money cannot solve. If your heart is empty, increasing your possessions will not automatically fill it. Only God can satisfy the deepest hunger of the human soul. POINT THREE: CONTENTMENT PROTECTS US FROM COMPARISON Social media has made comparison easier than ever. You see someone's wedding. Someone else's car. Someone's ministry. Someone's business. Someone's vacation. Someone's new house. Someone's achievement. And suddenly you look at your own life and say: “I am behind.” But remember: You are comparing your real life with someone else's public presentation. You don't know their struggles. You don't know their sacrifices. You don't know what happens behind the camera. The Bible says: > “But they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” — 2 Corinthians 10:12 Comparison can make you despise a blessing because it does not look like somebody else's blessing. Thank God for what He has given you. Improve where you can. Grow where you must. But don't allow comparison to steal your gratitude. POINT FOUR: CONTENTMENT TEACHES US TO SEE POSSESSIONS AS STEWARDSHIP Everything we have ultimately belongs to God. Psalm 24:1 says: > “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof.” Your money belongs to God. Your house belongs to God. Your talents belong to God. Your time belongs to God. Your influence belongs to God. Your opportunities belong to God. Therefore, the question is not merely: “How much do I have?” The greater question is: “What am I doing with what God has placed in my hands?” God does not bless us merely to make us comfortable. He blesses us so that we can become channels of blessing. 5. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY — THE RICH FOOL. Jesus told the story in Luke 12:13–21. A rich man's land produced abundantly. He said: > “I will pull down my barns, and build greater.” His entire conversation was about my crops, my barns, my goods, my soul. But God said: > “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee." What was the man's problem? He had possessions but no eternal perspective. He had storage for his wealth but no preparation for his soul. He planned for retirement but failed to prepare for eternity. He accumulated things but neglected God. Jesus concluded: > “So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” The lesson: It is possible to be rich toward the world and poor toward God. 6. DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS 1. CONTENTMENT IS NOT LAZINESS A contented Christian can still be hardworking. Joseph was content in God's presence even in prison, yet he eventually became a ruler. Paul worked. David worked. Proverbs praises diligence. Contentment does not kill ambition. It purifies ambition. 2. GRATITUDE IS THE ANTIDOTE TO GREED When you constantly focus on what you don't have, you become blind to what God has already done. Start counting your blessings. You may discover that you have been complaining about things you once prayed for. 3. YOUR VALUE DOES NOT COME FROM WHAT YOU OWN You are valuable because you were created in God's image. Your worth is not determined by your bank balance. Not by your clothes. Not by your followers. Not by your car. Not by your academic qualifications. Not by your social status. Your identity must be rooted in Christ. 4. GOD CAN GIVE YOU MORE WITHOUT ALLOWING MORE TO DESTROY YOU God is not against prosperity. But God wants prosperity with purpose. He wants blessing without bondage. Increase without idolatry. Wealth without wickedness. Success without losing your soul. The blessing is dangerous when the blessing becomes more important than the Blesser. 7. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. Practice daily gratitude Every day, intentionally thank God for at least three things. 2. Stop unnecessary comparison You don't need to compete with everybody. 3. Live within your means Don't destroy your financial future trying to impress people. 4. Learn to distinguish NEEDS from WANTS Ask yourself: “Do I need this, or do I simply desire this because somebody else has it?” 5. Give generously Giving breaks the grip of materialism. 6. Invest in eternal things Invest in: God's Kingdom People Your character Your family Your spiritual growth Your God-given assignment 7. Enjoy what God has given you Contentment means appreciating today's blessing while preparing responsibly for tomorrow. 8. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. What possession occupies my thoughts more than God does? 2. Am I pursuing success or worshipping success? 3. Do I compare my life with others? 4. If God does not give me everything I desire, will I still worship Him? 5. Am I grateful for what I already have? 6. Does my money serve God's purpose or merely my pleasure? 7. If everything I owned disappeared tomorrow, would Christ still be enough for me? That last question deserves serious reflection. 9. POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1 Father, deliver my heart from greed, covetousness, and unhealthy materialism, in Jesus' name. 2 Lord, teach me to appreciate what You have given me without losing my desire to fulfill my purpose. 3 Father, remove every spirit of comparison from my heart. Help me to celebrate Your work in my life. 4 Lord, let money never become my master. Give me wisdom to use every blessing for Your glory. 5 Father, give me the grace to seek Your Kingdom above material possessions. 6 Lord, make me rich toward You and useful to humanity. 7 Father, give me contentment in every season—when I have much and when I have little. 10. STRONG CLOSING — WHAT DO YOU REALLY NEED? Beloved, the world will never stop telling you: “You need more.” But the Holy Spirit is asking: “Do you have Me?” You may not have everything you want. But if you have Christ, you have the greatest treasure. You may not live in the biggest house. But you can have the presence of God in your home. You may not drive the most expensive car. But you can walk in God's purpose. You may not have millions in your account. But you can possess something money cannot buy: peace with God, joy in your heart, purpose in your life, and hope for eternity. So pursue excellence. Work hard. Build. Create. Dream. Invest. Grow. Prosper. But never allow material things to become your master. Have possessions, but don't let possessions have you. Seek success, but don't sacrifice your soul for it. Desire increase, but remain grateful in the process. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TOPIC: HOPE FOR THE YOUTHS. There Is Still Hope! We are in a period where many young people are battling fear, unemployment, addiction, depression, immorality, broken homes, and uncertainty about the future. Many have lost hope because of repeated disappointments. Some believe they have no future, while others are searching for meaning in the wrong places. But God's message to every young person today is this: "There is hope for you!" Your present situation does not determine your final destination. God has not forgotten you. The God who raised Joseph from prison, David from the wilderness, Esther from obscurity, and Daniel from captivity is still raising young men and women today. No matter how dark your night may be, dawn is coming. Key Bible Texts Jeremiah 29:11 > "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This promise was given to people living in difficult circumstances. God assured them that captivity was not the end of their story. Likewise, today's struggles are not the end of your journey. Joel 2:28 > "Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy... your young men shall see visions." God has a divine assignment for the youth. Young people are not merely the future of the Church—they are part of God's work today. 1 Timothy 4:12 > "Let no one despise your youth..." Paul encouraged Timothy to become an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Youth is not a limitation; it is an opportunity to glorify God. 1. Hope Begins When You Know God Has a Purpose for Your Life Many young people compare themselves with others and feel like failures. But God never created anyone without purpose. David was forgotten by his family, yet God had already chosen him to become king. Your background cannot cancel God's purpose. Lesson: Never measure your future by your present condition. 2. Hope Grows Through Right Choices Many destinies are destroyed not because God failed, but because wrong decisions were made. Choose: God over sin. Wisdom over foolishness. Discipline over laziness. Pray consistently. Avoid destructive friendships. Learn useful skills and continue developing yourself. Honour your parents and spiritual leaders. Stay sexually pure. Refuse drugs, cultism, internet fraud, and violence. Believe that your future is in God's hands. Deep Spiritual Insights Hope is confidence in God's promises, not wishful thinking. God often prepares people privately before promoting them publicly. Your trials may be God's training ground. Every believer carries a divine purpose that no circumstance can destroy. Destroy every addiction and sinful habit fighting my destiny. 6. Open doors of education, employment, ministry, and divine opportunities. 7. Grant me wisdom to make godly decisions every day. 8. Let my generation experience genuine revival. 9. Make me a vessel of honor in Your Kingdom. 10. Let my life glorify Jesus until the very end. Call to Action Young people, the future is not lost. God is still calling, preparing, and empowering a generation that will stand for righteousness in a corrupt world. Do not surrender your destiny to despair. Do not allow temporary failures to define your future. Fix your eyes on Jesus, remain faithful, and keep moving forward.
