• Many people know John 3:16, but the conversation does not stop there. In John 3:17-21, Jesus reveals the heart of the Gospel: He did not come into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

    https://youtu.be/yilvkDn5v_0

In this message, Patrick looks at the powerful truth that Jesus came as our Rescuer, Redeemer, and Savior. Humanity was already lost in sin, already separated from God, and already in need of rescue. But God, in His great love and mercy, sent His only Son so that we could be saved, forgiven, restored, and made whole.

This sermon walks through three important truths from John 3:17-21:

**1. Jesus Came to Save, Not Condemn**
Jesus did not come to create a problem; He came because there already was one. Sin separated mankind from God, but Christ came to rescue sinners and offer salvation through His sacrifice on the cross.

**2. Every Person Must Choose What to Do With Jesus**
Eternity is divided by one question: What have you done with Jesus Christ? Biblical faith is more than knowing facts about Jesus. True saving faith means trusting Him, relying on Him, surrendering to Him, and receiving Him as Lord and Savior.

**3. The Light Reveals What Is In Our Hearts**
Jesus is the Light of the world. His truth exposes what darkness tries to hide. Some reject the Light because they love darkness, but those who belong to God come to the Light, confess sin, repent, and walk in obedience.

This message is a reminder that the Gospel demands a response. Jesus came to save. The invitation is open. The Light is shining. Will you come to Christ?

    **Reflection Questions:**
Have you trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior?
Are there areas of darkness you are refusing to bring into the light?
Is your life moving closer to Christ or further from Him?

Jesus did not come to condemn you. He came to save you. Come to the Light. Come to Christ. Discover the grace, forgiveness, and new life that only He can give.

  • BORN AGAIN OR NEW CREATION?

"Born again," as spoken by Jesus in John 3:3-5, is not directly applied to the Dispensation of Grace. It is crucial to rightly divide the Word of Truth and understanding that different terminologies and doctrines were revealed for Israel and the Body of Christ in their respective dispensations,

Here is a deeper exploration of this IDEA.

    1. Born Again in Israel's Program
    Context of John3:
Jesus was addressing Nicodemus, a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews. . The discussion centered around Israel's spiritual condition and their requirements to enter the Kingdom of God. (3:3)
The "Kingdom of God" here refers to the earthly Messianic Kingdom promised to Israel--a fullfillment of Old Testament prophecies. (Isaiah 9:6; Ezekiel 36:25-27).

    The New Birth
Being "born again" involved spiritual regeneration necessary for Jews to inherit this kingdom.
It was part of the new covenant . which God promised especially to Israel:
Ezekiel 36:26-27: "And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules."
Jeremiah writes that the future New Covenant includes internalization of God's laws and forgiveness of sins (31:31-34).
The requirement to be "born of the water (baptism?) of the Spirit." (John 3:5) connects us with Israel's need for cleansing (thru water baptism) and renewal (by the baptism of the Holy Spirit).

    2. No Born Again in the Dispensation of Grace
Paul's gospel and the new creation:
In the Dispensation of Grace, believers are not described as
"born again" but as a new creature
2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
This transformation is not tied to the prophetic promise of Israel but is a result of being placed in the Body of Christ through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:1-4)

    Distinct identity in Christ.
Under grace there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile (Galatians 3:28; Ephesians 2:14-16). All believers are united un Christ and sealed with the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13-14)."The new creation) reflects an unique spiritual position as member sof the Body of Christ, not a national or covenential identity like Israel.

    Different Terminology Same Source
The term "born again" is absent from Paul's epistles because the focus is not entering Israel's kingdom but being part of a heavenly calling. (Philippians 3:20; Ephesians 2;6)

    3. Why This Matters in Right Division.
    Israel's program v. the church's program.
Born Again: Pertains to Israel's future redemption and Kingdom inheritance. .
New Creation: PERTains t the Church's spiritual identity and heavenly calling.
Mixing these terms leads to confusion about GODs' distinct plan for Israel and the Church.

    Gospel Differences
The gospel of the kingdom preached by Jesus and the twelve (Matthew 10:5-70) focused on repentance and preparation for Israel's Messianic Kingdom.
The Gospel of Grace, revealed to Paul (Ephesians 3:1-9), emphasizes salvation though faith alone for all who believe in Christ's finished work (Ephesians 2:8-9)

    4. Verses to Consider
    Galatians 3:28 (the Church)
    John 3:3-5 (Israel)
    2 Corinthians 5:17 (the Church)
    Ezekiel 36:26-27 (Israel)

    5. Conclusion
In the Dispensation of Grace, believers are new creatures, not "born again'" The "born again" terminology under the New covenant and relates to their future restoration and entry into the earthly kingdom. For the body of Christ, our position is tied to the heavenly places and distinct from Israel's prophetic hope.

  • From Trial to Resurrection

In this study, we take time to ponder our Redeemer’s immense sacrifice and victory for us - His trial, death, and resurrection- and what all of this tells us about the infinite depths of divine love for its creation. Especially for the fallen race of humans, each one made in God’s own image. Each one priceless to His great heart of love.

The fact that the Godhead would be willing to suffer the penalty of sin for each wayward child, so we would never have to know the ultimate price to be paid, is something more wonderful than even the brightest mind can fully wrap itself around. God’s hatred of sin is indeed strong, but His love for the sinner is stronger than death, and all the hosts of evil have never been able to conquer it.

May we allow this love to transform us, as we look into its depths, and lead us to give our whole hearts to our Loving Heavenly Father.

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

    John 3:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭

“After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus.

And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.”

    John 19:‭38‬-‭42‬ ‭

Many minds were busy with thoughts started by the scenes of Calvary. From the crucifixion to the resurrection many sleepless eyes were constantly searching the prophecies, some to learn the full meaning of the feast they were then celebrating, some to find evidence that Jesus was not what He claimed to be; and others with sorrowful hearts were searching for proofs that He was the true Messiah. Though searching with different objects in view, all were convicted of the same truth,—that prophecy had been fulfilled in the events of the past few days, and that the Crucified One was the world’s Redeemer. Many who at that time united in the service never again took part in the paschal rites. Many even of the priests were convicted of the true character of Jesus. Their searching of the prophecies had not been in vain, and after His resurrection they acknowledged Him as the Son of God.

Nicodemus, when he saw Jesus lifted up on the cross, remembered His words spoken by night in the Mount of Olives: “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” #John3:14, 15.

On that Sabbath, when Christ lay in the grave, Nicodemus had opportunity for reflection. A clearer light now illuminated his mind, and the words which Jesus had spoken to him were no longer mysterious. He felt that he had lost much by not connecting himself with the Saviour during His life. Now he recalled the events of Calvary. The prayer of Christ for His murderers and His answer to the petition of the dying thief spoke to the heart of the learned councilor. Again he looked upon the Saviour in His agony; again he heard that last cry, “It is finished,” spoken like the words of a conqueror. Again he beheld the reeling earth, the darkened heavens, the rent veil, the shivered rocks, and his faith was forever established. The very event that destroyed the hopes of the disciples convinced Joseph and Nicodemus of the divinity of Jesus. Their fears were overcome by the courage of a firm and unwavering faith.

Never had Christ attracted the attention of the multitude as now that He was laid in the tomb.
