• Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SUNDAY 23RD AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    PURSUIT OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.

    *TEXT:*
    EPHESIANS 4:13-14.
    13. until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
    14. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.

    *TOPIC:*
    PURSUIT OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
The Holy Spirit bestows special gifts on believers to equip and edify them for spiritual maturity. The goal is for believers to attain the "unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God", growing into the fullness of Christ (v. 13). Paul contrasts this maturity with spiritual immaturity (v. 14). Warning against being misled by false teachings and deceptive doctrines. Instead, believers are to speak the truth in love, growing up in every way into Christ, who is the Head of the body. Many, especially the young, are misled by human philosophies. For example, relativism - which teaches that there is no absolute truth, what is true for you may not be true for me. Are you growing in the faith? Maintain a consistent life of Prayer, Bible Study, and Christian Fellowship to grow in maturity.

    *REFLECTION:*
    Desire spiritual nourishment.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to crave spiritual growth. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
"If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    EZEKIEL 29-30.

ED.ii. WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

"Be filled with the Spirit." - Ephesians 5:18

According to the Bible, the Holy Spirit is a Person. Let this message penetrate your mind. When Jesus speaks about the Holy Spirit, Jesus always refers to 'He'. HE is not a thing but a person. We see in the Bible that the Holy Spirit has a mind, emotions and a will. The Holy Spirit speaks. Revelation 2:7 says: 'Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'

The Holy Spirit intercedes. Romans 8:26 says: 'The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.'

The Holy Spirit testifies. John 15:26 says: 'The Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father — He will testify about Me.'

The Holy Spirit shows the way. John 16:13 says: 'But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.'

The Holy Spirit leads. Romans 8:14 says: 'For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.'

The Holy Spirit gives instructions. Acts 16:6 says: '…having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.'

The Holy Spirit appoints. Acts 20:28 says: 'Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers.'

The Holy Spirit is also a Person to whom you can lie. Read the history of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11. You can insult (see Hebrews 10:29), blaspheme (see Matthew 12:31) and grieve the Spirit (see Ephesians 4:30).

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person and is everywhere. Today God still wants to fill His children with His Holy Spirit!

    Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. ⏤ Psalm 23:1-3

God loves importunate prayer so much that He will not give us much blessing without it. ⏤ Adoniram Judson

O Lord, You are our Shepherd; we will lack nothing. You make us lie down in green pastures and lead us beside still waters. You have been our Shepherd today. We have been in Your pastures as we have read Your word and worshiped with Your people.

We bow at Your throne with grateful hearts at the close of this day. We gather up the precious fragments of this day to carry with us, to feed upon in the days ahead. You have kept our feet from stumbling, our eyes from tears, and our souls from death.

We have walked with Jesus, and our hearts have burned within us as He talked with us along the way.

We ask You to fix deep in our hearts all the good impressions, lessons learned, and influences that have touched our lives today. Too often, we make sincere resolves and promises while our hearts are warmed with love, only to forget them tomorrow. Fix this Sunday's teachings so deeply in our minds that we never lose them. May we be stronger in faith, more earnest in purpose, and more holy in thought and feeling because of our communion with You this day.

Ever-living God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps—take charge of our bodies and souls during the dark hours of the night. Give us refreshing rest and sleep. Let tomorrow be sweet and holy, made so by the blessings of Sunday flowing into it. May we carry the fragrance of this day into the world’s life. And to Him who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory forever and ever. Amen.

  • *TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - SUNDAY, 23RD AUGUST, 2026.*

*COME UNTO ME, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST*

12th Sunday after Trinity | 4th Sunday in August.

    Scripture:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV).

*Reflection – Jesus Is Our Place of Rest*

Life can become overwhelming. There are burdens we carry because of responsibilities, expectations, disappointments, unanswered prayers, family concerns, ministry demands, work, studies, and the uncertainties of tomorrow.

Jesus does not tell the weary to struggle harder. He gives a gracious invitation:

    “Come unto me.”

Christ does not promise that we will never face difficulties. Instead, He promises that when we bring our burdens to Him, He will give us rest.

The rest Jesus gives is deeper than physical relaxation. It is the rest of a heart that knows it is no longer carrying everything alone. It is peace in the midst of pressure, confidence in the midst of uncertainty, and strength to continue when we feel weak.

Today, whatever burden you are carrying, bring it to Jesus. Do not carry what Christ is asking you to surrender.

Your burden may be heavy, but His grace is sufficient.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that I come to Jesus Christ with every burden, concern, fear, and uncertainty in my life. I refuse to carry alone what I can surrender to my Savior.

I declare that the rest of Christ is entering every troubled area of my life. His peace shall replace anxiety, His strength shall replace weakness, and His hope shall replace discouragement.

I proclaim that every burden weighing heavily upon my heart shall be surrendered to the Lord. I release the burdens of fear, disappointment, uncertainty, financial pressure, family concerns, ministry responsibilities, work, business, studies, and the future into God's capable hands.

Today, I receive divine strength to continue the journey. Where I have become weary, the Lord shall renew me. Where I have become discouraged, He shall restore my joy. Where I have become confused, He shall give me direction.

I declare peace over my family and household. May every unnecessary tension, anxiety, misunderstanding, and heaviness give way to the peace of Christ.

I declare grace over my ministry and service to God. I shall not serve from exhaustion or seek to carry God's work in my own strength. I receive fresh grace, wisdom, strength, and spiritual renewal.

I proclaim divine rest over my work, business, and studies. The Lord shall give me wisdom to manage my responsibilities, strength to complete my assignments, and favor to accomplish what He has placed in my hands.

I declare that I shall not be controlled by tomorrow's uncertainties. God holds my future, and I choose to trust Him one day at a time.

Today, I reject the lie that I must solve everything by myself. I acknowledge my dependence on God and receive His grace for every challenge before me.

I declare that the Lord shall restore my emotional, spiritual, and physical strength according to His will. He shall lead me beside still waters and restore my soul.

I proclaim that my home shall be a place of peace, my heart shall be a dwelling place of God's presence, and my life shall reflect the calm confidence of someone who trusts in Christ.

    I come to Jesus.
    I surrender my burdens.
    I receive His rest.
    I receive His strength.
    I receive His peace.
I will not be overwhelmed, because Christ is with me.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

    *Action Steps for today:*
Begin with Jesus: Before you begin carrying today's responsibilities, spend time in prayer and surrender your burdens to Christ.

Read Matthew 11:28–30: Meditate on Jesus' invitation to the weary and His promise of rest.

Declare: “I come to Jesus, I surrender my burdens, and I receive His rest and peace.”

Make a burden list: Write down the things troubling your heart and consciously hand each one over to God in prayer.

Stop carrying what belongs to God: Do your part faithfully, but leave the outcome in God's hands.

Rest in God's presence: Set aside quiet time today for prayer, worship (attend church service), Scripture reading, and reflection.

Encourage someone who is weary: Share Matthew 11:28 with someone who needs to be reminded that Jesus cares about their burdens.

End the day with thanksgiving: Thank Jesus for carrying you through the day and for every evidence of His grace.

    *Sunday Prayer:*
    Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your gracious invitation: “Come unto me.”

Today, I come to You with everything that is weighing upon my heart. I bring my fears, worries, responsibilities, disappointments, unanswered questions, and every burden I cannot carry by myself.

    Lord, give me Your rest.

Quiet every storm within me. Replace anxiety with peace, confusion with clarity, fear with faith, and weakness with strength.

I surrender my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, finances, plans, and future into Your hands. Teach me to do what I can faithfully and trust You with what is beyond my control.

Restore my soul. Renew my strength. Refresh my spirit. Give me wisdom for every responsibility and grace for every challenge.

Help me not to run away from You when I am tired, but to run toward You.

Let Your presence fill my home. Let Your peace rule in my heart. Let Your grace sustain me throughout this new week.

    Jesus, I come to You.
    Jesus, I trust You.
    Jesus, I surrender to You.
    Jesus, I receive Your rest.

In Your mighty name I pray. Amen.

    *Sunday Blessing:*
May the Lord Jesus give you rest from every burden that has been weighing upon your heart.

May His peace fill your home and household. May His strength sustain you in your ministry, work, business, studies, and every responsibility entrusted to you.

May God give you wisdom to know what to carry and what to surrender. May He renew your strength when you are weary and restore your joy when you are discouraged.

May every storm around you become an opportunity to experience the peace of Christ within you.

As you enter the coming week, may you go forward not in your own strength, but in the strength of the Lord.

    Come to Jesus.
    Surrender your burdens.
    Receive His rest.
    Walk in His strength.
    Abide in His peace.

  • Depending on God After Victory

    Scripture

    Judges 15:18 (NKJV)

Then he became very thirsty; so he cried out to the LORD and said, You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant; and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

    Depending on God After Victory

Victory can sometimes become one of the greatest tests of our faith. Before a battle we often pray with urgency, but after a victory we can easily forget how dependent we still are on God.

In Judges 15, Samson experienced an incredible victory over the Philistines because the Spirit of the Lord empowered him. Yet immediately afterward, he became exhausted and overwhelmed with thirst. At that moment, Samson realized that the same God who gave him victory was also the One who could sustain his life.

Instead of trusting in his own strength, Samson cried out to the Lord. He acknowledged that the victory was not his own achievement but God's deliverance. His strength had limits, but God's power did not.

God answered Samson's prayer by providing water, refreshing him, and restoring his strength. This reminds us that God not only equips us for the battle but also cares for us after the battle. He is concerned with both our victories and our weaknesses.

Many believers experience spiritual victories only to become weary afterward. Ministry, serving others, overcoming temptation, or walking through difficult seasons can leave us physically, emotionally, and spiritually drained. God never intended for us to live on yesterday's strength. He invites us to seek Him daily for fresh grace, renewed strength, and continual dependence upon Him.

The Christian life is not sustained by past victories but by a present relationship with the Lord. Every day we need His wisdom, His strength, and His provision. Success should never replace surrender, and victories should always lead us back to worship.

    Reflection Questions

    1. After seasons of victory, do I continue to depend on God for daily strength?

    2. Am I giving God the glory for the victories He has brought into my life?

    3. Where do I need God's refreshing and renewal today?

    Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for every victory You have given me. Help me never to rely on my own strength or become prideful because of past successes. Teach me to remain fully dependent on You every day. Refresh my spirit when I am weary, renew my strength when I feel exhausted, and remind me that every good thing comes from Your hand. May every victory draw me closer to You and deepen my trust in Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Depending on God After Victory Scripture Judges 15:18 (NKJV) Then he became very thirsty; so he cried out to the LORD and said, You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant; and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? Depending on God After Victory Victory can sometimes become one of the greatest tests of our faith. Reflection Questions 1. After seasons of victory, do I continue to depend on God for daily strength? 2. Am I giving God the glory for the victories He has brought into my life? 3. Where do I need God's refreshing and renewal today? Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for every victory You have given me.

    DATE: THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST 2026

    TOPIC: GOD'S COVENANT OF PROSPERITY

    MEMORIZE:
"But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: JOB 36:11-12
11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

    MESSAGE:
When you enter into a covenant with the Owner of the earth and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1), the One who owns all the gold and the silver (Haggai 2:8), He will prosper you and add no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22).

The devil often lures people into entering into a covenant with him by promising them great wealth. However, such prosperity always comes with many sorrows. I recall the story of a man who went to a herbalist and entered into a covenant with demonic forces so that he could become incredibly wealthy for seven years, after which he would die. He swallowed a charm the herbalist gave him, but he didn't get rich; instead, he had a seven-year countdown to his death. A few days before the seven years expired, the man ran into the church and told us his story. We told him to give his life to Jesus Christ, and He would protect him. He agreed, and we prayed a simple prayer with him. Right there, in the presence of everyone in the church, he vomited what he had swallowed. We rejoiced with him, and for a while after that, he attended church services regularly. After some time, however, he stopped coming, so we decided to conduct a follow-up. When we visited him, he said that the herbalist had told him he had swallowed the first charm incorrectly, so he gave him another one to swallow. Before long, he became wealthy. When the seven-year period stipulated by the covenant was close to expiring, he thought to himself, "The covenant is here in Nigeria. I will travel to London, and the demons won't be able to reach me there." Unfortunately, he died on a plane as he flew to London. Only God's covenant of prosperity will make a fellow rich and add no sorrow with it.

Malachi 3:10 is a vital part of God's covenant of prosperity. When you pay your tithe, God will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing upon you that will be so great that you will not have enough room to contain it. Furthermore, Proverbs 3:9-10 encourages us to honour God with our firstfruits. God doesn't need money; He can provide for anything He wants to do, but He asks to be honoured. Beloved, once you are in covenant with God, He will always provide for you and make sure that you never lack. May your life always reflect the blessings of the Lord, in Jesus' name

    PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to honour You with the resources You bless me with.

    BIBLE READING IN ONE YEAR:
    JEREMIAH 50

    AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMNAL 26 - THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING
1 There shall be showers of blessing:
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Savior above.

    REFRAIN
    Showers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need:
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,
    Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. [Refrain]

3 There shall be showers of blessing:
    Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come and now honor Thy Word.
    [Refrain]

4 There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call! [Refrain]

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD'S GRACE

    *TOPIC:*
    DILIGENCE: PATHWAY TO GREATNESS.

    *TEXTS:*
    PROVERBS 12:24; 22:29.
    *12:24.*
    24. Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labour.

    *22:29.*
    29. Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank.

    *TOPIC:*
    DILIGENCE: PATHWAY TO GREATNESS.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Diligence means consistent, earnest, and skilful effort that leads to excellence and advancement. According to Proverbs, those who work hard and refine their skills will stand out, serving before influential people and rising to postions of honour, whether in secular or gospel ministry. True promotion is a reward for diligent effort, not the result of ambition or manipulation. Christian youths must eschew laziness and embrace hard work as a core value. Diligence glorifies God. Wasting time on entertainment and social media without developing one's potential is contrary to godly wisdom. How diligent are you in your studies, skills, career, house chores, community, and church work? Do not be nonchalant. Discover and maximise your potential diligently.

    *REFLECTION:*
    Diligence breeds excellence.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, deliver me from laziness, in Jesus' name.

    EZEKIEL 1-3.

    ED.ii. TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE

"All who have this hope in Him purify themselves, just as He is pure." - 1 John 3:3

The Bible always speaks about two types of people, ways or choices: sheep and goats, corn and chaff, wise and foolish virgins, a wide and a narrow path, a man walking in the light or a man walking in the darkness, a sinner or a righteous person. The Bible says that God wants to bring people from darkness into His wonderful light. Each time you see these two categories of people. The Bible speaks of people who are damned and people who are saved; lost and redeemed people; people who have strayed from the straight road and who belong to the flock; carnal and spiritual people.

The contrast that the Bible indicates between one group and the other is quite large. You stand either on one side or on the other. You choose heaven or hell. You choose death or life. You cannot be saved a little or go to heaven a little. You cannot be pregnant for just a little bit either. Either you are pregnant, or you are not. You are a Christian or you are not. You walk in the light or in the darkness. You are far from God because of sin or your sins are forgiven, and you have entered the presence of God. It is either the one or the other!

    Born again is essential

A person has to experience a change within. Rebirth is to take place. The Bible calls it 'being born again'; to go from the old to the new creation. If you are not born again you cannot see the Kingdom of God, let alone enter it. This is essential for all believers. Jesus says that if we give our heart to Him and allow Him, He will come to us.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17 we read: 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!'

    2. Evening Prayer.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ⏤ James 1:17

Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies. ⏤ John Milton

Lord, we humbly come before You, asking that You hear our prayers, our confession, our requests, and our praise, which we offer to You through Jesus Christ our Lord. We have gone astray and wandered from Your ways, like lost sheep. We have followed too much the desires of our own hearts. We have broken Your holy laws. We have left undone the things we should have done and have done things we should not have done. There is nothing good in us. But You, O Lord, have mercy on us as miserable offenders, and for Jesus' sake, give us the grace to turn away from every evil path and to live in a way that brings glory to Your holy name.

What can we give You, O Giver of all good things, for Your kindness to us as a family? We thank You for the comforts of our home, for the opportunities we have for learning, for our health and happiness, for prosperity, and for all the blessings of Your providence, including the love that unites us as a family.

Help us, O Father, to live in a way that is worthy of all Your favors and gracious kindness. May our hearts be filled with love and gratitude. May our lips speak Your praise. May our lives truly reflect the gratitude we feel.

Sanctify all the blessings of this day. Bless the preaching of Your Word and all the services in which we participated. May Your blessing follow all the work of Your people today in every church and Sunday school. Now grant us restful and refreshing sleep, and may the blessings of this Sunday carry us through the new week. We ask this in Jesus Christ. Amen.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Today is it. Today we pick up the littles (and the grown-ups) from the airport. Today I will become a 57-year-old toddler. More so than normal. Today my positive is the start of a month-long play date. I will need a vacation after this vacation…haha. My mom said it best yesterday: my heart says that I am a kid, my mind says we will worry about it later, and my body tells me that I am a fool. All are correct. Just to be upfront here.

The enemy has a way of making all things that are good and wonderful seem as if there is a catch, a hook, a deception, or a possibility for failure and dismay. He is very good at using logic to show the pitfalls, create chaos, and change the visual of what is before us. He is subtle in his ways. He is persuasive and convincing. His points and thoughts appear valid. It is extremely easy to see his point of view. We are so conditioned to look for the other shoe to drop that when it does, we fall into this muddle mess of ‘I knew it’. Yesterday he did that with me. I got a feeling that our rental reservation was lost, and I could not find an email with the confirmation. As we ate dinner, my mind focused on what we were going to do if they did not have the vehicle we needed … it happened the last time we rented from them and serious changes had to be made. Fast forward … the van was there. We drove it home. I lost peace for no reason. For a short period of time, the enemy won a battle with me. I allowed my fear to control my faith.

Many who know me know that this is a rarity. I know my God. I know His power. I know His promises. And even when this company failed the last time, God provided a way.

To those who struggle with finding your positive … that is the enemy. A positive does not have to be a massive anything; a positive can simply be that your day was rough, yet you made it through and did not get fired. Your positive can be that the rain was soft and refreshing, dulling the humidity. Your positive can be that though your area was ravaged by the storm, your property got minimal damage. Your positive can be that your coffee pot produced another round of wonderful morning nectar. Your positive can be that you prayed before you got up or before you went to bed. Your positive can be that there is food in the fridge and cupboards. Your positive can be that your son/daughter wanted to cuddle. Your positive can be that you woke up rested. Your positive can be that the laundry is finished. Your positive can be that you found the money you needed for gas in a pair of pants that you just washed. The positive can be that your pet gave you kisses. Your positive can be that the morning air feels calming. Your positive can be … your positive can be anything. It does not have to be massive or explosive in design. Your positive is just that … any positive. Just as a positive can be what you receive … your positive could also be what you give. Your positive could be that you stopped and helped someone on the side of the road. Your positive could be that you were able to help someone pay for their groceries. Your positive could be that you gave someone a hug. Your positive could be that your smile calmed someone down. Your positive … your positive … Your positive is a gift, both received and given. Your positive shows His love for you and IN you.

As you go through your day today, I challenge you to see only the positive. Even in the middle of the chaos and dark … there are positives. You just need to be willing to open your eyes and see them.

Last night, a gentleman who really wants to help me promote the books but respects my current thought process gave me some ideas to think about. Another positive. A new vision. A new potential direction. A positive for the Kingdom.

    Be blessed today my friends.

**Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. –Matthew 22:37

Good morning to everyone.

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY 8TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD'S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    ANSWERING THE CALL OF GOD.

    *TEXT:*
    ISAIAH 6:8-10.
8 Then I heard the voice of the LORD as He was asking, “Whom will I send? Who will go for Us?” “Here I am!” I replied. “Send me.”
9 “Go!” He responded. “Tell this people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
    Mat 13:14 Mar 4:12 Luk 8:10 Joh 12:40 Act 28:26 Rom 11:8 [Psa 69:23] [Jer 5:21] [Eze 12:2]
10 Dull the mind of this people, deafen their ears, and blind their eyes. By doing so, they won’t see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.”
    Jer 5:21 [2Co 3:14] [2Co 4:4]

    *TOPIC:*
    ANSWERING THE CALL OF GOD.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
God, in His sovereignty, has a divine purpose for every individual and desires our obedience to fulfill it. Isaiah's prompt and wholehearted response to God's call serves as a model, especially for young people. Although many fear that the call to ministry is humiliating and an obstruction to their dreams, on the contrary, it is a high and glorious calling. God's call is for everyone to serve in the area for which they are predestined. Therefore, be sensitive to recognise your area of call and serve Him with a passion and with a sense of accountability to the one who called you. What are your hopes and plans for life? Ensure they do not conflict with God's will. Besides, do not be self-centered to miss His call or direction. Is anyone confused about his call? Prayerfully seek counsel.

    *REFLECTION:*
God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called.

    *PRAYER:*
Oh Lord, help me to respond to my call.

    JEREMIAH 26-29.

    ED.ii. DELIVERED FROM SLAVERY

"Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the Lord brought you out of it with a mighty hand." - Exodus 13:3

It was quite important for the Israelites to celebrate this day of freedom and liberation. They commemorated this day during the Easter celebration. It was to be passed on from generation to generation. The Israelites had to continuously teach their children about this and talk about it (see Deuteronomy 11: 19-21).

    Spiritual freedom

We read throughout the book of Numbers that the living God had delivered the people of Israel from slavery. If God imprinted on His people's minds so strongly to always commemorate and remember that they were freed from slavery, how much more should God's children continually remember that they were freed from slavery by the blood of Jesus Christ? 'I am free from the burden of the evil one. I am free! I am free from the burden of sin.'

How does someone who just came out of jail feel? Freedom is a great thing. However, spiritual freedom is even more important than the physical one. It is better to be in prison with a liberated spirit than to be outside and bound by the power of the evil one. Paul says in Romans 6:17-18: 'At one time you were held by the power of sin. But now you obey with all your heart the teaching that was given to you. Thank God for this! You were made free from the power of sin. Being right with God has power over you now.'

Dear readers, do you still remember being a slave to sin? Do you still remember when Jesus delivered you from this? You are no longer a slave, but free from the power of sin. Jesus shouted: 'My task is fulfilled.' By doing this, Jesus broke the power of sin and is able to free everyone who comes to Him in faith and accepts Him as their personal Savior and Redeemer.

    Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were ]not [so,] I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ⏤ John 14:2

Our prayers lay the track down which God’s power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, his power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails. ⏤ Watchman Nee

Our Father, as another week comes to a close, we are reminded that we are now closer to our eternal home than ever before—closer to our Father’s house with its many rooms, closer to the great white throne, closer to the crystal sea, closer to the end of life where we will lay down our burdens. Beyond the shadows of death lies Heaven.

Help us to believe in the unseen things of our Christian faith and to not fear any night that leads to the dawn of Your glory. It may be that we are nearer to our heavenly home than we realize. Father, strengthen our trust. Let our spirits be firm in faith when the hour of death comes, knowing that our feet are set on the solid rock of a living faith.

We ask You to accept and bless our week. If this week is the last one we live in this world, we leave it now with You, asking for Your gracious forgiveness for anything wrong in our conduct, words, or attitudes. We place our lives in Your hands, trusting in Your mercy. We sin many times each day. Our hope is always in Your grace. Take our week and cleanse it. May all its experiences work for our good. May the lessons we’ve learned be well remembered and never forgotten. May the work we’ve done be blessed.

Grant us sweet, refreshing sleep tonight, and prepare us for a quiet and good Sunday filled with Your love and grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.
