"LEARN TO WAIT" ‘They that wait upon the Lord...’ Isaiah 40:31KJV THE WORD ‘wait’ can give us a picture of two things. The first is of a waiter at your table attending to your needs. The second is making a request of a judge or someone in power. Your success depends on approaching them the right way, and on their willingness to grant your request. Since they hold the power, you must be patient and wait for them. Are you getting the idea? Our problem is twofold. First, we want God to wait on us, instead of the other way round. Second, we don’t want to wait for anything! We drive to work listening to the radio and talking on the phone; some of us even put ourselves and others at risk by text-messaging. Vance Havner points out that in the Old West if someone missed a stagecoach they said, ‘That’s okay, another one will come around in three or four weeks. Now we don’t even want to wait for a revolving door.’ What God does in you while you are waiting is often more important than what you’re asking God to do. Waiting on God brings rewards that nothing else will. Here are a few of them: 1) Vindication. ‘Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong… Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart’ (Psalms 37:1-4 NIV). 2) Strength. ‘Wait on the Lord…and He shall strengthen your heart…’ (Psalms 27:14 NKJV). 3) Deliverance. ‘I…waited for God…He lifted me out of the ditch…’ (Psalms 40:1-2 TM). Does He need our blessings? To "bless the Lord" means to praise, worship, and speak well of God's greatness and goodness from a deeply grateful heart. The opposite of blessing God is to speak negatively of God, blame, insult, complain against or even curse Him. While humans usually receive blessings from God, we "bless" Him in return by honoring, thanking and adoring Him for who He is and what He has done.  Psalm 103 is a beautiful hymn of praise in which David calls his soul to remember the goodness, mercy and faithfulness of God. The Lord is not only the source of our blessings; He is Himself the Bountiful Giver who forgives, heals, redeems, satisfies, and crowns His children with lovingkindness. As we reflect on His goodness, our appropriate response is to bless His holy name with a grateful heart. *1. Call to Bless the LORD* a. How do you feel when people commend, appreciate or speak well of you right in your presence or in the presence of others? You feel encouraged, satisfied and happy. God feels the same as the Person who created us in His image. David begins by addressing himself: *“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.”* He didn't say bless the LORD with his lips. That, as good as it can be, may be mechanical and for people to see. But he said his soul would bless the LORD. The blessings must be from his inner being and must affect all that is within him. It should be wholehearted praise. b. He repeats the command, *“Bless the LORD,”* emphasizing that worship must come from the whole person. He warns himself not to forget God’s benefits. *"And forget not all his benefits"*. It is possible, human and natural to forget some of His benefits, but it is ingratitude to forget ALL. A recollection of a few of His benefits should cancel all forms of complaints due to hardship and delayed blessings. Many times, we remember our problems more readily than God’s goodness; but thanksgiving becomes powerful when we deliberately recall His blessings. Every breath, provision, protection, opportunity, and answered prayer is evidence of His mercy. We should, therefore, bless God not merely with our lips but with our entire being. *Question* Am I deliberately remembering and praising God for His benefits, or have I allowed my challenges to make me forget His goodness? *2. Covenant Blessings from the LORD* a. The divine covenant blessings are those blessings God gives to those who have come into covenant relationship with Him through the Lord Jesus. Such blessings are not for the general populace. David identifies some of the covenant benefits of the Lord: *“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things.”* Our greatest blessing is forgiveness. This forgiveness doesn't put into consideration the gravity of the sin, the foolishness of the offender, etc. It is freely and fully forgiven once there is evidence of repentance. He restores our relationship with Him and gives us a new beginning. He is also our Redeemer, preserving us from destruction and surrounding us with lovingkindness and mercy. He satisfies our lives with good things so that we may experience renewed strength like the eagle. The healings we received freely are part of God's covenant blessings. The irony of life is that many erroneously think they are mere general blessings and as a result, they are weak in pleasing the Lord. b. God's blessings are not accidental; they flow from His covenant faithfulness. Therefore, let us trust Him, appreciate His benefits and remain faithful to Him. Deliberate efforts should constantly be made to recall the uncommon benefits we have received from the Lord. *Question* Which of God's covenant benefits have I received that I should consciously thank Him for today? *3. The Character of the Bountiful LORD* God is not a hypocrite. His blessings flow from His nature and character. The remaining verses reveal the character of our Bountiful LORD. He is righteous and just, defending the oppressed (v.6). He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy (v.8). He does not treat us according to our sins, but removes our transgressions far from us (vv.10–12). His compassion is like that of a loving father toward his children (v.13). God understands our frailty because He remembers that we are dust (v.14). Though human life is temporary, *“the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting”* (v.17). His throne is established in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all (v.19). The psalm, therefore, ends with a universal call for angels, heavenly hosts and all God's works to bless His holy name (vv.20–22). The appropriate response to such a generous and compassionate God is continual praise, obedience, trust and thanksgiving. Attention was then shifted to His throne in heaven, where the angels worship Him and do all His commandments. His dominion is universal and His Kingdom rules over all.* *David, the psalmist, wrote this psalm from his wealth of experience as Israel's king. He could tell and sing of God's mercies because he experienced them. He spoke from personal experience when God took Him from following the sheep as a shepherd to set him up as king in Israel. He saved him from the many battles he had to fight to maintain as well as expand the nation's territory. And when he fell into sin, with the devastating consequences on his family and kingship, he cried to God in penitence and received forgiveness. David knew that God's kingdom is not like that of man. He reigns and rules over the entire universe.* *Like David, we should recall, remember and count our blessings, naming them one by one. We must deliberately focus our attention on the wonderful things He has done for us and stop worrying over the unresolved problems in our lives. Choose Humility (Philippians 2:3–4) Pride doesn't always look obvious. Sometimes pride sounds like: “I don't need anyone.” Sometimes it looks like refusing to apologize. Sometimes it is always needing to be right. Sometimes it is comparing yourself with others. Sometimes it is wanting recognition for everything you do. And sometimes pride can even enter our relationship with God when we begin believing that we know better than Him. But Jesus calls us to a different way of living. The Bible says: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” Humility doesn't mean thinking you are worthless. It means understanding that you are not the centre of everything. You can recognize your gifts without looking down on others. You can succeed without becoming arrogant. You can be knowledgeable without believing you know everything. You can receive recognition without making recognition your identity. And you can lead while still being willing to serve. Jesus is the greatest example of humility. He had every reason to receive glory. Yet He chose to serve. He washed His disciples' feet. He welcomed people others overlooked. He touched the hurting. He listened. He taught. And ultimately, He humbled Himself and gave His life on the cross for us. Think about that. The Son of God chose the path of sacrifice. If Jesus was willing to serve, we should never consider ourselves too important to serve others. Sometimes humility means saying: “I was wrong.” Sometimes it means: “I need help.” Sometimes: “I don't know.” Sometimes: “I'm sorry.” Sometimes: “How can I help you?” Those words don't make you weak. They can demonstrate strength of character. Pride asks: “What can I get?” Humility asks: “What can I give?” Pride asks: “Why aren't people noticing me?” Humility asks: “How can I make someone else's life better?” Pride wants the platform. Humility is willing to serve even when nobody is watching. This is especially important in a world where social media can make everything about visibility. Followers. Likes. Views. Comments. Recognition. It is easy to begin measuring your value by how much attention you receive. But remember: God sees what people don't see. He sees the quiet act of kindness. He sees the prayer nobody heard. He sees the sacrifice nobody noticed. He sees the person you helped without posting about it. He sees your heart. So don't serve only when people are watching. Don't do good only when you can receive recognition. Serve because you love God. Serve because Christ first served you. And when you succeed, remember where your abilities came from. When God opens a door, be grateful. When He gives you an opportunity, remain humble. When you achieve something, celebrate without looking down on those who haven't reached the same place yet. Your success should give you an opportunity to lift others, not make you feel superior to them. And if someone else succeeds before you, don't allow jealousy to take over. Celebrate them. Learn from them. Encourage them. Your journey doesn't become less valuable because someone else's journey looks different. Humility also means being teachable. Never become so confident that you cannot receive correction. Never become so experienced that you stop learning. Never become so successful that you stop listening. A humble heart remains open to growth. Most importantly, remain humble before God. You don't have to pretend that you have everything figured out. Come to Him honestly. Ask for wisdom. Ask for correction. Ask Him to reveal areas of your heart that need to change. Because the goal isn't simply to look humble. The goal is to become more like Christ. True greatness in God's kingdom is not about how many people serve you. It is about how faithfully you serve others. Today, look for one opportunity to put someone else first. Encourage someone. Help someone. Listen to someone. Apologize if necessary. Give without expecting recognition. And when nobody notices, remember: God does. Be Careful Who You Follow Scripture Judges 18:30 (NKJV) Then the children of Dan set up for themselves the carved image; and Jonathan the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land. A False Religion Can Never Replace True Worship Judges 18 continues the spiritual decline that began in the previous chapter. The tribe of Dan had not fully taken possession of the inheritance God had given them, so instead of trusting the Lord, they sought an easier path. Rather than depending on God's promises, they relied on human wisdom and military strength to secure a new territory. As the men of Dan traveled, they came to Micah's house, where they found the Levite serving as a priest over Micah's private shrine. Instead of rejecting the idols and false worship, they stole Micah's carved images, household idols, ephod, and priest, believing these things would bring God's blessing wherever they went. The Levite willingly abandoned Micah because serving an entire tribe seemed like a greater opportunity than serving one family. His decision was motivated by personal advancement rather than faithfulness to God. After conquering the peaceful city of Laish, the tribe of Dan established idol worship there and appointed the Levite and his descendants as priests. What began as one family's compromise became the official religion of an entire tribe. This chapter demonstrates how compromise spreads. One person's disobedience influenced a family, then a priest, and eventually an entire tribe. When God's truth is abandoned, false worship quickly takes its place. Believers today face similar dangers. Culture continually offers substitutes for true worship—success, possessions, popularity, pleasure, and personal opinions. Yet anything that replaces complete devotion to God becomes an idol. God calls His people to remain faithful to His Word, even when compromise appears easier or more successful. True worship is not determined by convenience or popularity but by obedience to the Lord. Reflection Questions 1. Is there anything in my life competing for the place that belongs only to God? 2. Am I making decisions based on God's Word or on what seems easiest or most beneficial? 3. What kind of spiritual influence am I leaving on my family and those around me? Prayer Heavenly Father, keep my heart devoted to You alone. Protect me from compromise and from anything that would become an idol in my life. Help me to seek Your will instead of the easiest path. May my life point others toward faithful worship and obedience to Your Word. Give me discernment to recognize false teaching and courage to remain faithful to Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Life That Reveals God Has a Greater Impact Than Lips That Merely Speak About Him! The Christian life is not merely about speaking about God; it is also about revealing through our lives that God lives within us. It is not only important how beautifully we speak about the name of God. What truly matters is whether people can see God through our conduct, words, decisions, relationships, forgiveness, integrity, and love. Jesus said: > “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) Notice this the purpose of our good works is not for people to glorify us, but for them to glorify our Heavenly Father. Our lives must become a living testimony. If we speak about love, that love must be revealed in the way we forgive even those who hurt us. If we speak about faith, it must be revealed by trusting God even when circumstances are against us. If we speak about holiness, it must be revealed by living a holy life even when no one is watching. If we speak about God's grace, it must be revealed by showing grace even to those who have wronged us. Our lives should never contradict the message our lips proclaim. Joseph did not spend his time in Egypt merely preaching about God. Yet through his integrity, purity, wisdom, and fear of God, those around him recognized that the hand of God was upon his life. Daniel was the same. He did not simply say that he trusted God; even under pressure, he refused to compromise his prayer life. His life became the evidence of his faith. The world often sees our lives before it listens to our preaching. Therefore, every day we must ask ourselves: When someone looks at my life, do they see me or do they see Christ living within me? Glorifying God is not something we do only during Sunday worship. It must happen at home, at work, in our relationships, in solitude, in trials, and in times of success everywhere and at all times. More powerful than what you say is the way you live; your life is the strongest testimony of your faith. Let us proclaim God with our words and glorify Him through our lives. Hepsi Sam ✍️

DBF-001-031 continues with John 2:10. The master of the feast recognizes that something unusual has happened: the best wine has been kept until now. We should keep the focus on Christ’s provision and avoid turning the verse into a promise of material abundance. DAILY BREAD FELLOWSHIP DBF-001-031 Today’s Scripture John 2:10 (ESV) “And said to him, ‘Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.’” Opening the Scriptures The master of the feast had tasted the wine, but he did not know where it had come from. He called the bridegroom and expressed his surprise. Normally, the better wine was served first. Yet at this wedding, the master believed that the best had been kept until later. What he did not know was that the bridegroom had not provided this wine. Jesus had. The master could recognize the quality of the gift, but he did not recognize its source. The servants knew. Behind what appeared to be an unexpected provision stood the power and authority of Jesus Christ. John is steadily directing our attention away from the wedding itself and toward Jesus. Living God’s Word Today There is a danger in receiving God’s gifts while forgetting the Giver. Every day we receive things we can easily take for granted. Food. Shelter. Family. Friendship. Strength for another day. Opportunities to serve. Most importantly, for those who belong to Christ, forgiveness of sin and eternal life. Scripture reminds us: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.” — James 1:17 Yet we must also be careful about what this miracle does not teach. Jesus turning water into wine does not promise Christians wealth, comfort, success, or an easy life. The apostles themselves would later suffer greatly for following Christ. The greatest gift at Cana was not the wine. The greatest gift was Christ Himself. That remains true today. God may give us much or little in this world. Our circumstances may change. Health can fail. Possessions can disappear. Human relationships can disappoint us. But the Christian’s greatest treasure cannot be measured by earthly prosperity. We have Christ. In Him we have something infinitely greater than temporary comfort: reconciliation with God, forgiveness of sin, and the certain hope of eternal life. The master of the feast enjoyed the gift without knowing its source. Let us not make the same mistake. Recognize God’s goodness. Give thanks for His daily provision. But never become so occupied with God’s gifts that you forget the God who gives them. Treasure Christ above everything He gives. Question for Today Do you value God’s gifts more than you value God Himself? Respond: “Christ is my greatest treasure.”

The Lord does not work with these, for He will not give to any human being the glory that belongs to His own name. He makes the humble trustful servant His representative—the one who will not lift himself up, and think of himself more highly than he ought to think. The life of such an one will be dedicated to God as a living sacrifice, and that life He will accept and use and sustain.... – {UL 243.3} Our life is not our own. It is Christ’s life. All is His, and we are to spend our powers in doing the will of God. Watch and pray; spend and be spent in doing His will from the heart. Carry every entrusted capability as a sacred treasure, to be used in imparting to others the knowledge and grace received.... – {UL 243.4} Nehemiah, after gaining so great an influence over the [Persian] monarch in whose court he lived, and over his people in Jerusalem, instead of ascribing praise to his own excellent traits of character, his remarkable aptness and energy, stated the manner just as it was. He declared that his success was due to the good hand of God that was upon him. He cherished the truth that God was his safeguard in every position of influence. For every trait of character by which he obtained favor, he praised the working power of God.... And God gave him wisdom, because he did not exalt himself. The Lord taught him how to use the gifts entrusted to him to the very best advantage, and under the supervision of God, these talents gained other talents.... – {UL 243.5} Every jot of influence is to be appreciated as the gift of God. The eye of the mind is to be single to the glory of God. Then the sense of responsibility will increase. Our talents will be put out to the exchangers to increase and double. There are hundreds of men and women who, if they had a proper appreciation of the heavenly trust, would go diligently and earnestly to work to use what they have.—Letter 83, August 17, 1898, to a leading minister in Australia. – {UL 243.6}

Did you know? Nothing in this world is more valuable than knowing Jesus Christ personally. Success, possessions, and achievements may satisfy for a season, but they cannot save the soul or give the hope of eternal life. Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"(John 14:6). God has already shown the depth of His love by giving His only Son, "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"(John 3:16). To know Christ is more than agreeing with facts about Him—it is trusting Him, following Him, and allowing Him to transform every part of our lives. As Paul wrote, "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord" (Philippians 3:8). When Jesus becomes the center of our lives, we receive forgiveness, peace with God, and the sure hope of eternal life, a treasure far greater than anything this world could ever offer.

Everyday they laid a few bricks; and soon they had a wall 🧱. Many people think 🤔 of success as a quantum leap but it is not 🚫. Think 🤔 of your success like a house 🏠 you are building 🏢. You put one brick on top of the other until you get a house 🏡. Be more interested in WHO YOU ARE BECOMING rather than what to do.Your success will be more lasting that way. If you focus on what to do it will have a temporary effect. When you BECOME a better person your results will reflect the new person you have become. If you improve your skills 1 percent every day in any area of your life, you will be 365 percent better in that area a year by this time. This means everyday you must wake up with the intention of BECOMING better than yesterday. The day will come when you will then see the compounded effect of what you have been bdoing. The Bible says the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day (Proverbs 4:18). This means it's all about getting better and better day by day. Have a lovely day 💘💘💘💖💖

I decree that this week shall not end the way it began. By the time these seven days are complete, I shall have visible evidence of progress, answered prayers, divine favor, and fresh testimonies, in Jesus' name.
