• Acts 27:

    "1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
    2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
    3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
    4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
    5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
    6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
    7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
    8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
    9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
    10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
    11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
    12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
    13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
    14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
    15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
    16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
    17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
    18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
    19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
    20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
    21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
    22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
    23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
    24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
    25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
    26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
    27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
    28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
    29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
    30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
    31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
    32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
    33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
    34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
    35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
    36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
    37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
    38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
    39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
    40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
    41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
    42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
    43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
    44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land."

    TOPIC: GOD'S COVENANT OF PROSPERITY

    MEMORIZE:
    "But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: JOB 36:11-12
    11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

    12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

    MESSAGE:
    When you enter into a covenant with the Owner of the earth and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1), the One who owns all the gold and the silver (Haggai 2:8), He will prosper you and add no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22).

    The devil often lures people into entering into a covenant with him by promising them great wealth. However, such prosperity always comes with many sorrows. I recall the story of a man who went to a herbalist and entered into a covenant with demonic forces so that he could become incredibly wealthy for seven years, after which he would die. He swallowed a charm the herbalist gave him, but he didn't get rich; instead, he had a seven-year countdown to his death. A few days before the seven years expired, the man ran into the church and told us his story. We told him to give his life to Jesus Christ, and He would protect him. He agreed, and we prayed a simple prayer with him. Right there, in the presence of everyone in the church, he vomited what he had swallowed. We rejoiced with him, and for a while after that, he attended church services regularly. After some time, however, he stopped coming, so we decided to conduct a follow-up. When we visited him, he said that the herbalist had told him he had swallowed the first charm incorrectly, so he gave him another one to swallow. Before long, he became wealthy. When the seven-year period stipulated by the covenant was close to expiring, he thought to himself, "The covenant is here in Nigeria. I will travel to London, and the demons won't be able to reach me there." Unfortunately, he died on a plane as he flew to London. Only God's covenant of prosperity will make a fellow rich and add no sorrow with it.

    Malachi 3:10 is a vital part of God's covenant of prosperity. When you pay your tithe, God will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing upon you that will be so great that you will not have enough room to contain it. Furthermore, Proverbs 3:9-10 encourages us to honour God with our firstfruits. God doesn't need money; He can provide for anything He wants to do, but He asks to be honoured. Beloved, once you are in covenant with God, He will always provide for you and make sure that you never lack. May your life always reflect the blessings of the Lord, in Jesus' name

    PRAYER POINT:
    Father, please help me to honour You with the resources You bless me with.

    HYMNAL 26 - THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING
    1 There shall be showers of blessing:
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Savior above.

    REFRAIN
    Showers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need:
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
    But for the showers we plead.

    2 There shall be showers of blessing,
    Precious reviving again;
    Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain. [Refrain]

    3 There shall be showers of blessing:
    Send them upon us, O Lord;
    Grant to us now a refreshing,
    Come and now honor Thy Word.
    [Refrain]

    4 There shall be showers of blessing:
    Oh, that today they might fall,
    Now as to God we're confessing,
    Now as on Jesus we call! [Refrain]

    INVITATION TO DIVINE WISDOM

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

    "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault…" James 1:5 NIV.

    One of the greatest gifts God gives to His children is wisdom, that is, the privileged ability to see life from His perspective and make decisions that align with His will. Wisdom, from every sense responsibility, is more than knowledge or intelligence; it is in proper perspective, divine insight, spiritual understanding, and the capacity to choose rightly in every situation.

    Many frustrations in life come from decisions made without wisdom. Opportunities are missed, relationships break, time is wasted, and unnecessary battles arise. But when a person operates with God’s wisdom, confusion fades into insignificance and clarity takes its rightful place.

    The young King Solomon knew this, which was the reason he sought for wisdom above riches or power. His life demonstrated that when you get wisdom, everything else aligns.
    A peep into God’s wisdom shows the numerous benefits for His children who subscribe to it. It guards you from deception, and helps you to properly discern people and opportunities. It keeps you from repeating perennial mistakes, and directs you to the right path when there seem to be no clarity.
    God's wisdom plants you on the pedestal for long-term peace and successful endeavours.

    God is inviting you today to ask for His wisdom. He does not withhold it, but gives it liberally to as many as His children who ask. Seek wisdom and you will walk securely.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

    LORD Jesus, thank You for the privilege and invitation to ask for Your divine wisdom today. Guide my thoughts, decisions, and steps as I walk in, and operate in Your supernatural understanding.
    .

  • DAILY DEVOTION…Thursday August 20, 2026

    Colossians 2:6-7…"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude."

    Standing Firm in Christ

    Think about a massive, ancient oak tree. When a violent storm hits, the tree doesn’t topple over. Why? Because underneath the soil lies a hidden, sprawling network of roots that dig deep into the earth, anchoring it firmly to the ground.
    Paul uses this exact imagery to describe how we are meant to live out our Christian faith. He reminds us that the way we started our journey with Jesus—by simple, humble faith—is the exact same way we must continue it every single day. Spiritual growth isn’t about discovering hidden secrets or chasing after the latest cultural trends; it is about sinking our roots deeper into the person of Jesus Christ.
    When our roots are firmly planted in His Word, we find the stability we need to survive life's storms. We are "built up" and "established." This means our faith isn't fragile or easily shaken by doubt, unexpected trials, or deceptive philosophies (Ephesians 4:14). Instead, we become strong, steady, and secure in our identity.
    But Paul adds a beautiful indicator of a healthy, deeply-rooted faith: an overflow of gratitude. A complaining heart is often a sign of shallow roots. When we are constantly pulling nourishment from God's grace, love, and faithfulness, thankfulness naturally bubbles up and pours out of our lives. Gratitude becomes our default response, shifting our focus from what we think we lack to the immense riches we already possess in Christ. Stay grounded in Him today, and let His truth stabilize your soul.

    4 Key Spiritual Truths Gleaned from Colossians 2:6-7…

    1. The Daily Walk Mirrors the Beginning: The same simple faith and total dependence required for salvation is the exact standard required for daily Christian living (Galatians 3:3).
    2. Roots Determine Stability: A believer's capacity to withstand the storms and deceptions of life is directly connected to how deeply they are anchored in Christ (Jeremiah 17:7-8).
    3. Growth is Continuous and Structural: Being "built up" is an ongoing, lifelong process where the Holy Spirit aligns every area of our lives to the foundation of Jesus (1 Corinthians 3:11).
    4. Gratitude is the Ultimate Health Check: An overflowing heart of thankfulness is the natural, undeniable fruit of a spiritually mature and established faith (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

    THE BIBLE: God’s Compass For Our Daily Living
    DAILY DEVOTION…Thursday August 20, 2026 Colossians 2:6-7…"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude." Standing Firm in Christ Think about a massive, ancient oak tree. 4 Key Spiritual Truths Gleaned from Colossians 2:6-7… 1. The Daily Walk Mirrors the Beginning: The same simple faith and total dependence required for salvation is the exact standard required for daily Christian living (Galatians 3:3). 2. • AFTER MULTIPLE HEALTH STRUGGLES AND PERSONAL SETBACKS, MIKA DELA CRUZ SHARES WHY SHE BELIEVES SEEKING JESUS CHANGED HER LIFE,

    Actress Mika Dela Cruz opened up about one of the most difficult seasons of her life and how her faith became a turning point during a time when several problems seemed to come one after another.

    She recalled dealing with career uncertainty, learning difficulties, the loss of her father, financial setbacks from business, and multiple health concerns, including Hashimoto’s disease, liver related problems, hyperlipidemia, PCOS and gallstones.

    During the same difficult period, Mika and Nash Aguas also went through a breakup. According to Mika, Nash encouraged her to stop centering her life around their relationship and instead seek Jesus.

    One message stayed with her deeply:
    “Alam mo gaano kasakit, yung sabihin sa taong mahal mo, na alam mong mahal ka rin, na wag kang mahalin. Mahalin mo si Jesus. Subukan mong i seek si Jesus.”

    Mika said she eventually took that advice seriously and began intentionally seeking Jesus. For her, that became the beginning of a major change, not only spiritually, but also emotionally and physically.

    She later returned for medical follow ups expecting another routine check. Mika said she was surprised when she received encouraging results, including a liver finding that was described as “internally resolved.” She also shared that some of the other health concerns she had been dealing with had improved.
    In her latest post, Mika wrote:

    “I will never forget this moment. I thought it was just another follow up check to monitor… wasn’t expecting to find out good news about my health status.”

    She also expressed the belief that has become central to her testimony:
    “Wala talagang sakit na hindi niya kayang palitan ng pagmamahal niya, na yun ang mag heal sayo.”

    For Mika, the journey was never only about physical recovery. She says her faith helped restore her peace, change the direction of her life and give her what she now describes as a second chance filled with purpose and joy.
    What began as one of the hardest chapters of her life became, for Mika, a testimony of faith, healing and restoration.

    In this episode, Pastor Joseph and Rev. Michael discuss the spiritual danger of feeding Christians only the comfortable and popular portions of Scripture. They explore the responsibility of preachers to proclaim the whole Word of God—including the hard teachings that challenge our beliefs, confront our sin, and may even disturb us—and why the flock needs truth, not merely what it wants to hear.
