LOST IN THE CHURCH: [GETTING LOST IN CHURCH] Part Seven Worshipping the Word of God/Scripture. The Word of God, together with the Church, are among the things given to us for the purpose of salvation, to bring people to God, although they themselves are not God. Therefore, I can say that the Word of God is like a signpost pointing us to where Christ is. When a person ends up building his life upon the Word of God without going to Jesus Christ, this becomes the foundation of one of the greatest deceptions of religious spirits and idolatry in the Church. If you read John chapter five, you will see how the Lord spoke to those who had fallen into this kind of deception: > “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” John 5:39–40 Today, many people have ended up in religious institutions, while others have ended up in Scripture, yet they have never truly come to Jesus to receive life. Jesus did not come to establish any religion or bring a system of laws to the world; rather, He came to restore the RELATIONSHIP between humanity and God—the relationship that was lost in Eden. It is within this relationship that salvation and eternal life are found. > “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3 A person can know all the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, and may even teach them with great skill and accuracy, yet never have encountered or truly known the Lord. It may be easy for someone to explain things about the Lord based on what they have heard from other people. However, it is completely different to know the Lord personally. Jesus is the Way and the Life. There is no way for anyone to come to the Father except through Him. And when He says that He is the Way, many people picture a dusty road, a gravel road, or a paved road. But the Way He is talking about here is a Person. To know the way to heaven is to know a Person. And you cannot truly know Him without having a relationship with Him. > “Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:23 It is entirely possible for someone to preach, teach the Word of God, cast out demons, and perform many works of the Kingdom, yet still not know the Lord—and likewise, not be known in Heaven. It is easy for a person to build a name for himself and become famous on earth, but it is very different to be known in Heaven. Many of the things we glorify on earth are often considered worthless before God. Therefore, it is possible for someone to be well-known in Heaven while having no name or recognition on earth. Glorifying the Word More Than the One Who Gave the Word There has been a very strange tendency among people to glorify the Word of God more than God Himself, who gave the Word. In this way, many people hold on to what God said yesterday against what He is saying today. For example, it is possible for God to say “Yes” yesterday concerning a particular matter and say “No” today, according to His will and timing. If we have not learned how to walk with the Lord, it is very easy to cling to a dead word, which undoubtedly becomes an idol. In this way, we have many churches today that have died because they continue holding on to a dead word. The Apostle Peter is one of the examples in Scripture of someone who almost made such a painful mistake. He resisted the Lord’s command concerning the animals, relying on the earlier word from the same God who had declared those animals unclean. However, by His great mercy, the Lord corrected Peter and told him: > “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” Acts 10:15 #ToBeContinued..! Mwl. THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST 2026 Topic: You Are Not Behind Bible Reference “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” Zechariah 4:10 (NLT) A Short Story Samuel was twenty seven, and he had started wondering whether he was already too late. Some of his friends had built successful businesses. Others had secured good jobs, bought cars, travelled to different countries, or started families. Whenever he opened social media, it seemed as though everyone was moving forward except him. Samuel had a small business that was barely growing. He was also learning a new skill, but the progress felt painfully slow. One afternoon, he sat with a friend and said, “I think I have wasted too much time. Maybe I should have achieved more by now.” His friend looked at him and asked, “Who told you that your life must follow their timetable?” Samuel became quiet. He realized that most of his frustration was not coming from his actual situation. It was coming from constantly comparing his journey with other people's journeys. That evening, he returned home and looked at the small notebook where he had written his goals months earlier. He noticed something he had forgotten. He had actually made progress. It was not dramatic. It was not something he could proudly display on social media. But he had learned new skills, become more disciplined, grown spiritually, and taken steps he had once been afraid to take. For the first time in a long while, Samuel thanked God for the little he had. He decided that instead of spending his energy asking why he was not where someone else was, he would focus on becoming faithful with where God had placed him. Today's Message Comparison can make you despise your own journey. You look at someone else's finished product and compare it with your beginning. You see their achievement but do not see the years of preparation, sacrifice, failure, and waiting behind it. God does not measure your life by another person's timeline. The Bible tells us not to despise small beginnings. Something may look small today and still become significant tomorrow. Do not be ashamed of starting small. Do not be discouraged because your progress is not yet visible to everyone. Your responsibility is to be faithful with what God has placed in your hands today. You are not behind simply because someone else arrived before you. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep praying. Keep working. Keep trusting God. Your journey is your journey. What To Do Today 1. Stop comparing your progress with what you see on social media. 2. Write down three areas where you have genuinely grown. 3. Identify one small step you can take toward your goal today. 4. Thank God for where you are while trusting Him for where you are going. Prayer Lord, deliver me from the pressure of comparison. Can I not do with you as this potter? says the Lᴏʀᴅ. Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand. Jeremiah 18:6 Let’s observe a potter at work: First, he takes a lump of clay and kneads it to make it pliable. Then, he places it on the potter’s wheel and shapes it. As he presses one hand into the interior, giving it the desired volume, he holds it with the other from the outside, smoothing, refining and shaping the clay. It takes much skill and experience to form a useful vessel out of a shapeless mass. God is the potter who has shaped humans (the clay) according to His intention and wisdom. The patriarch Job expresses it to God: “Your hands have made me and fashioned me ... Remember, I pray, that You have made me like clay” (Job 10:8–9). But sin has corrupted everything. The vessel has became unusable for God; it is “marred” and no longer serves its purpose (Jeremiah 18:4). The problem doesn’t lie with God – He is a perfect potter! – but with us. What now? The clay is still in the hand of God. When sinners repent by acknowledging God’s judgment of “uselessness” over their lives, He starts anew with us: He will make from the same lump of clay a vessel for His honour. Everyone who has turned to God and has believed in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, has eternal life. A treasure has, so to speak, been placed into the vessel, making it valuable to God now. Yet the potter’s work is not finished. When believers feel pressure because of grief, illness or other difficulties weighing them down, it is God’s hand shaping their character: this is in order that we might please Him. Hello, I would like to share with you the message from 18 août 2026 from “The Good Seed” daily calendar. Your word is truth. (John 17:17) Reliable The archaeologist William Ramsay (1852-1916) was known for carefully studying the events described in the New Testament, especially in the Acts of the Apostles and in the Pauline Epistles. When he first travelled to Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), many cities mentioned in Acts were not known, and even less was known about their history.  The Acts of the Apostles was the only historical document, and Ramsay, who was sceptical, fully expected his research to expose Luke, the writer of Acts, as hopelessly inaccurate. Therefore, he set out to thoroughly examine this book of the Bible. He devoted his life to excavating the ancient cities and documents of Asia Minor.  After a lifelong study, however, he concluded: “Further study … showed that the book [Acts of the Apostles] could bear the most minute scrutiny as an authority for the facts of the Aegean world, and that it was written with such judgment, skill, art, and perception of the truth as to be a model of historical statement.” Ramsay further stated, “I set out to look for truth on the borderland between Greece and Asia, and found it here [in Acts of the Apostles]. You may press the words of Luke in a degree beyond any other historian’s and they stand the keenest scrutiny and the hardest treatment.”  When Ramsay turned to the Apostle Paul’s letters, which critics labelled as forgeries, he concluded that all thirteen of Paul’s New Testament letters were authentic.  All reports of the Bible are reliable because God’s Word is truth! Gideon had no idea what God was purpose, Gideon feel small weak and unworthy and afraid but God saw, not what Gideon was but what he become through Him that's how God sees you. We live in a time when fear and doubt often hold people captive, but the message of Gideon story is clear. When God's calls Gideon means God saw something different, he didn't need to be the strongest or the bravest he just needed to trust obey. You may feel weak, afraid or insignificant you may think your past mistakes or failures have disqualified you from God's purpose but the Lord says "I am with you mighty warrior" Mighty warrior means showed extreme bravery in battle, skill in battle unwavering determination, valor loyalty and ability to inspire a soldier. When God is with you, you are never defeated He takes the ordinary and does the extraordinary. Remember your weakness is perfect place for God to show His strength, the Lord is with you! He will fight your battles, strengthen your heart and make you victorious in His name. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TOPIC: WHEN FAITH MEETS FINANCIAL PRESSURE. Key Scripture: «“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19» There are moments when faith is easy to confess—but difficult to practice. It is easy to say, “God will provide,” when there is food in the kitchen, money in the account, and every bill is under control. But what happens when the rent is due, school fees are waiting, your business is struggling, your salary is not enough, and you have more needs than resources? That is when faith meets financial pressure. Financial pressure can test your patience, your decisions, your relationships, and even your confidence in God. But hear this clearly: Financial pressure is real, but it does not mean that God has abandoned you. The presence of financial difficulty does not mean the absence of God's presence. Sometimes God changes our circumstances immediately. At other times, He gives us wisdom, strength, discipline, opportunities, and endurance to walk through the season. The question is not only, “How will I get money?” The deeper question is: “How will I remain faithful to God while I am under financial pressure?” 1. FINANCIAL PRESSURE MUST NOT DESTROY YOUR FAITH Matthew 6:31–33 Jesus said: «“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’”» Jesus understood that human beings have genuine needs. He did not say that food, clothing, shelter, or financial needs are unimportant. Rather, He warned us not to allow our needs to become greater than our trust in God. The danger of financial pressure Financial pressure can produce: - Fear - Anxiety - Depression - Desperation - Wrong decisions - Dishonesty - Unnecessary debt - Comparison with others - Loss of spiritual focus But faith says: “I may not know how the provision will come, but I know the God who is my provider.” Faith does not deny the problem. Faith refuses to make the problem bigger than God. 2. FAITH DOES NOT MEAN REFUSING TO PLAN One dangerous misunderstanding among Christians is that faith means doing nothing. No. Faith and wisdom must work together. Proverbs 21:5 says: «“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.”» Joseph is an excellent biblical example. When God revealed that seven years of abundance would be followed by seven years of famine, Joseph did not simply say, “God will take care of us.” He developed a strategy. He stored grain during the years of plenty. When the famine came, Egypt was prepared. Spiritual lesson: Pray like a believer, but plan like a wise steward. Ask God for provision—but also ask Him for wisdom. If you are financially pressured: - Review your spending. - Reduce unnecessary expenses. - Avoid unnecessary debt. - Learn a skill. - Improve your business. - Look for legitimate opportunities. - Save when possible. - Seek wise counsel. - Keep accurate financial records. God can answer prayer through wisdom, work, relationships, opportunities, creativity, and disciplined stewardship. 3. NEVER ALLOW DESPERATION TO PUSH YOU INTO SIN Financial pressure can create dangerous temptations. Someone may say: “I have no choice.” But as a child of God, you always have a choice about your character. You may be under pressure, but you don't have to become dishonest. You may be struggling, but you don't have to steal. You may need money, but you don't have to deceive people. You may be desperate, but you don't have to abandon biblical principles. Proverbs 10:9 «“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.”» Your financial situation may change tomorrow. But the consequences of a wrong decision can remain for years. Never sacrifice your destiny to solve a temporary financial problem. Do not gain money and lose your peace. Do not gain wealth and lose your testimony. Do not solve a financial problem by creating a spiritual problem. 4. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEEDS, WANTS, AND PRESSURE Sometimes financial pressure is caused by genuine poverty. But sometimes it is intensified by comparison. Social media has created a dangerous environment where people constantly see what others are buying, wearing, driving, building, and achieving. You begin to think: “I must have this.” But not everything you desire is something you need. 1 Timothy 6:6 «“But godliness with contentment is great gain.”» Contentment does not mean laziness. Contentment means: “I will thank God for what I have while faithfully working toward what I need.” Don't allow somebody else's lifestyle to become your financial prison. You don't have to compete with everyone. You don't have to impress people. You don't have to buy what you cannot afford simply because others have it. Learn to live within your means while trusting God for increase. 5. REMEMBER THAT GOD CAN USE A DIFFICULT SEASON TO TEACH YOU Some lessons are difficult to learn when everything is comfortable. Financial pressure can teach: - Discipline - Contentment - Creativity - Patience - Responsibility - Compassion - Humility - Better stewardship - Dependence upon God Romans 5:3–4 «“Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”» This does not mean we should celebrate poverty or refuse legitimate prosperity. It means that God can produce something valuable in us even during difficult seasons. You may be praying for God to change your financial situation. And while you are waiting, God may also be changing you. He may be teaching you how to manage the blessing you are asking Him to give you. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: THE WIDOW OF ZAREPHATH Read 1 Kings 17:8–16. The widow was facing severe economic hardship. She had only a small amount of flour and oil. She was preparing what she believed would be her final meal. Then Elijah appeared. God instructed her to act in faith. She obeyed. And God sustained her household throughout the famine. What can we learn? The widow had little—but she was obedient. She did not have abundance before she obeyed. Sometimes faith begins with what is already in your hand. You may say: “I don't have much.” Ask: “What do I have?” Perhaps you have: - A skill - A business idea - A talent - Education - Experience - A phone - Creativity - Relationships - Time - A small business - An opportunity you have overlooked Do not despise small beginnings. What looks small in your hand can become significant when surrendered to God and managed wisely. DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS 1. Your bank balance is not your identity. You are more than your financial situation. Having little money does not make you worthless. Having much money does not make you superior. Your ultimate identity is found in Christ. 2. Provision is not always instant. Sometimes God provides a miracle. Sometimes He provides an opportunity. Sometimes He provides wisdom. Sometimes He provides people. Sometimes He provides strength to endure until the door opens. 3. Faith must produce responsible action. James 2:17 teaches that faith without works is dead. Therefore: Pray—but work. Trust—but plan. Believe—but learn. Wait on God—but don't waste your opportunities. 4. Financial pressure is a test, not necessarily a verdict. A difficult season does not mean your story is over. Your current condition is not necessarily your final destination. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. Pray specifically. Don't only say, “Lord, bless me.” Ask: “Lord, give me wisdom to manage what I have and show me legitimate opportunities for increase.” 2. Create a simple budget. Know: - What comes in. - What goes out. - What is necessary. - What can be reduced. - What debts must be addressed. 3. Stop financial comparison. Don't destroy your finances trying to maintain an appearance. 4. Develop yourself. Learn something that can increase your value and earning capacity. 5. Avoid dishonest shortcuts. Your integrity is worth more than temporary money. 6. Give according to biblical wisdom and your actual capacity. Giving should be an expression of love and obedience—not reckless financial irresponsibility or manipulation. 7. Seek wise counsel. Don't make major financial decisions simply because you are emotionally pressured. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. Am I trusting God or allowing fear to control my financial decisions? 2. Am I managing what God has already placed in my hands? 3. Do I have unnecessary expenses that I need to eliminate? 4. Am I comparing my life with others? 5. Have I allowed financial pressure to weaken my prayer life? 6. What skill or opportunity am I currently overlooking? 7. Am I maintaining integrity even when money is scarce? 8. What financial lesson might God be teaching me in this season? POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Father, strengthen my faith when I face financial pressure. 2. Lord, give me wisdom to manage every resource You have placed in my hands. 3 Father, open legitimate doors of opportunity, employment, business, and increase for me. 4. Lord, deliver me from fear, desperation, greed, and financial decisions that can destroy my future. 5. Give me the discipline to distinguish between my needs and my unnecessary desires. 6. Father, give me creative ideas and the courage to act upon them. 7. Lord, provide for every genuine need in my household according to Your will. 8. Give me grace to remain generous, honest, content, and faithful even in difficult seasons. 9. Father, let this financial season produce wisdom, maturity, discipline, and testimony in my life. 10. Lord, let my financial testimony become a testimony of Your faithfulness and not a reason for me to compromise my faith. CALL TO ACTION Beloved, financial pressure can be heavy. But don't let pressure make you forget your Provider. Don't let an empty account produce an empty faith. Don't let delayed provision produce disobedience. Don't let comparison make you despise your journey. And don't let desperation push you into a decision that will destroy tomorrow just to solve today's problem. Trust God. Work diligently. Plan wisely. Live within your means. Keep your integrity. Develop yourself. Pray continually. And remember the promise: «“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19» Your financial pressure is real, but so is God's grace. Your resources may be limited, but God's wisdom is unlimited. Your present season may be difficult, but God is still God. Faith does not promise that you will never face financial pressure. Faith gives you the strength to face it without losing God, your character, or your hope. Final Declaration I will not be ruled by fear. I will not compromise my faith. I will not waste what God has placed in my hands. I will walk in wisdom. I will work diligently. I will trust God faithfully. "WORKING IN THE KINGDOM (2)" ‘To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given...’ Matthew 25:29 NLT YOUR VALUE in a job is determined by the value you add to the job. When a Christian goes to work each day, God holds them accountable for adding, enhancing and improving things in their workplace. Jesus told the story of three men who were each given money. One was given five bags of it, another two, and another one. The first two ‘…went and traded with them, and gained…’ (Matthew 25:16 NAS). They showed skill, initiative, and made 100 percent profit. So they were commended by their master. But the third man just punched the clock, called in sick, didn’t train, try, dare, or do. So his job review didn’t go too well. And Jesus said something that ought to make us all sit up and take notice: ‘To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.’ That means if your attitude and work ethic are poor, you’re in trouble with God. So, let’s stop and think about your job. If Jesus were your supervisor, would you do your work any differently? How would you answer the phone, type documents, treat your employees, or teach your pupils if Jesus were checking your work? As a citizen of God’s kingdom you need to periodically review your attitude on the job, solicit feedback on how you can grow, demonstrate love and grace to those you work with, make your company profitable, and enjoy the work you do. Their prayers were anchored in repentance and a return to the Lord. Soon, other believers joined them in prayer. That honest moment of repentance sparked a spiritual breakthrough, and soon people across the island began confessing their sins, turning back to God, and experiencing profound spiritual healing.* *In our text, the prophet calls God's people to repentance. The passage begins with a heartfelt plea for repentance and return to the Lord. It reflects Israel's realisation that they had strayed from God and were suffering the consequences of their rebellion. Yet, despite their waywardness, God desired to restore and revive them if they genuinely repented. The promises of being "revived after two days" and "restored on the third day" symbolised God's readiness to bring spiritual renewal to those who returned to Him.* *Christians today have important lessons to learn. All these show man's deliberate responsibilities in order to keep the blessings of God for a long time . In 1948, a released christian newsletter during the time of revivalist Abraham Branham reads. “All the great outpourings of the past have had their outstanding truths. Luther’s truth was Justification by Faith. Wesley’s was Sanctification. The Baptists taught the premillennial coming of Christ. The Missionary Alliance taught Divine Healing. The Pentecostal outpouring has restored the Baptism of the Holy Ghost to its rightful place. But, the next great outpouring is going to be marked by all these other truths plus such a demonstration of the nine gifts of the Spirit as the world, not even the Apostolic world, has ever witnessed before. This revival will be short and will be the last before the Rapture of the Church.” The consolation and joy is that whatever great and wonderful experiences we have enjoyed in the past can still be restored by God if man does the needful. This is the message of Hosea to Israel and the godly. *1. Call to Return to God* a. Adam, representing the man of all ages, started with God, but departed from God and many woes followed. In order to vacate the woes, the message of God is simple, return to God. All the woes, challenges, calamities, anguish, backslidings and challenges of man have only one divine prescription: Return to God. Returning to God requires turning or change. Man is generally, reluctant to change. This is one of Newton's Laws of Motion. Willingness to turn is generally, where the problem of man lies. The turning to God requires acceptance of wrongs towards God, decisions with appropriate steps and asking God for forgiveness without self justification. It involves deliberate action of repentance. Repentance from what cause the loss of good old blessings, including repentance from sin, unforgiving spirit, bitterness against neighbours and perhaps God, love of the world, selective obedience to the command of God in any area etc., are just what God is looking for before He pours down His blessings afresh. God did not see that turning or repentance in Adam and Eve. Both of them were busy giving excuses and blaming each other. Neither fully admitted his/her obvious wrong and neither fully repented and returned to God. The repercussion was that they never got the blessing they lost back. They were driven from the beautiful, blessed and blissful garden. If they had returned to God with words of soberness and repentance, the story would have been different for them and the whole humanity. All lost blessings from God are only returned after turning and repentance from the root cause. b. The message of God is the same. *"Come, and let us return unto the LORD"*. Stop the blame game. Stop the murmuring and complain. The promise of God for the repentant is valid at all times and in all generations. *"For he hath torn, and he will heal us"*. When your garment of glory is torn, when your shining regalia of blessings is torn, when the source of your joy is torn, the immediate and uncompromisable demand of God and solution is to turn to God. *"He hath smitten, and he will bind us up"*. This is a word of assurance for those who take the courage to turn from their evil ways, carelessness and compromise. *Question* Assess your life where you have departed from God and your old consecration to God and His word. Are you willing to turn? Start today. *2. Comforting Revival Through Grace* a. Has Israel not gone too far to an irredeemable damnable and bitter experience? God, through Hosea says NO. When there is possibility and willingness to turn, the promise to restore and revive is always unbreakable. Jesus said, *"the scripture cannot be broken."* Hosea used the picture of Calvary and the resurrection of Jesus on the third day to show the reality and restoration of revival for dead bones. *"After two days will he revive us"*. After two days is the third day including all other days after the third day. It shows the beginning of revival on the third day and the continuity of revival after the third day. *"In the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight"*. The resurrection of Jesus Christ has assurably made possible the restoration of any dead soul and experiences even when it appears they are already stinking spiritually in the grave. b. The parable of dead bones in Ezekiel 37 shows that revival and restoration is possible when the Word of God is given a prominent and final say in the life of an individual, family, church or nation. All the revivals the Church has experienced in different ages at a time of total darkness were as a result of giving the Word of God the first and unquestionably place. The same applies to any individual that needs revival. Taking the Word of God at face values drives to repentance including burdened and persistent prayers. Once this is done, the rain will definitely fall and there will be repentance and restoration. *Question* Are you desirous of revival and restoration of past glories in your life? From the explanation above, what is your decision? *3. Continuous Refreshment unto Glory* a. Why blessings are lost and revival is gone is because of lack of continuity in the Old faith and consecration that brought the revival in the first place. Jesus said, *"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples in deed"*. Disciples in deeds are different from disciples in the mouth to profession. Continuity is the key. *"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD"*. Continuous following leads to deeper knowledge and deeper knowledge is manifested by continuous following. *"His going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth"*. The former rain is to prepare the ground for planting while the latter rain is to prepare the crop for harvesting. It is the harvesting that is generally seen, but not the planting time of rigour and sacrifice. He that sows, though not seen by many should sow in hope because harvesting is certain. Rain of the Holy Spirit is needed to sow the seed of repentance, intercession and consecration while rain of the Holy Spirit is also needed to enjoy the harvest of refreshment, restoration and revival. MESSAGE What a person will become during his or her sojourn on earth will not depend solely on the fellow's efforts. African elders have an adage that says, Hustling and bustling does not translate to wealth. This is true because, for instance, dockworkers who offload cargo from a ship from sunrise to sunset typically would earn only a fraction of what the Chief Executive Officer of a wharf, who sits in an air- conditioned office, sipping tea and merely signing documents, would earn. At the end of a month, the fellow's salary might even be more than what a hefty, hardworking dockworker will earn in a whole year! Today's Bible reading makes it clear that the fact that a fellow can run swiftly does not mean that he or she will win a race, and the fact that a fellow is strong does not mean that he or she will defeat an enemy. The passage goes on to say that bread is not to the wise, neither are riches to men of understanding. This means that a fellow's advanced level of education alone will not determine how wealthy he or she will become. I recall that I was in Redemption Camp (now Redemption City) sometime between 1983 and 1984, spending time alone with God, and crying to Him. I said, "God, I'm not asking for clothes, a car, or a house. I was minding my business as a lecturer at the university when You asked me to come and serve You. I agreed, and I really want to serve You; however, I need power to do Your work. I don't want to be an ordinary pastor; I want to excel." In desperation, I added, "God, it is either You empower me, or You take me home." My prayer touched Him, and that night, the entire campground shook due to an earthquake that sent tremors as far as ljebu Ode, a town several kilometres away. The Lord visited me and empowered me with His anointing to excel. Beloved, you need God's anointing to excel. It is God who gives power to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), it is only His anointing that can teach you everything you need to now (1 John 2:27), and it is only through Him that you can do all things (Philippians 4:13).
