The Incredible Journey gives away three free Christian books per week per person.
If you are in Australia or New Zealand you can get 3 books free and you don't even need to pay for shipping.
If you live outside Australia and New Zealand you can get the same books as an ebook.

Because of things that have happened between then and now, I am more of a baby Christian than I was back then, I am 25 now.
I am out of the habit of prioritising God when it comes to my entertainment, then a couple of days ago I remembered what I believed when I was 17; that if someone would just surround themselves with Christian entertainment instead of worldly entertainment eventually they would become a strong Christian.
I recently decided to put my old opinion to the test by making my main source of entertainment from Christian sources, I am already learning things about God and the Bible that I've never thought about or realised before. When I was 17 years old I used to mainly entertain myself with Christian entertainment, I would feel guilt if I watched anything that had nothing to do with God. - I found this video VERY useful, it talks about the different ways we can sin with our tongue. To put a light on how we may be misusing our tongue so we realise what we are doing and stop. I admit that I actively do most of these that are mentioned in the video, now that I know how serious it can be I will think twice before I do these things again.

I thought it was in the Bible because it was seen as acceptable and those chapters have made me give up Christianity for a time and it almost did it to me again, until I did some research into why it was in the Bible.
These are the verses that disturbed me:
Judges 19:22-30
While they were celebrating, behold, men of the city, certain worthless and evil men, surrounded the house, pounding on the door; and they spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, "Bring out the man who came to your house so that we may have relations with him."
Then the man, the master of the house, went out and said to them, "No, my fellow citizens, please do not act so wickedly. Since this man has come to my house, do not commit this sacrilege. Here is my virgin daughter and this man's concubine. I will bring them out now; abuse and humiliate them and do to them whatever you want, but do not commit this act of sacrilege against this man."
But the men would not listen to him.
So the man took the Levite's concubine and brought her outside to them; and they had relations with her and abused her all night until morning; and when daybreak came, they let her go.
At daybreak the woman came and collapsed at the door of the man's house where her master was, until it was light.
When her master got up in the morning and opened the doors of the house and went out to go on his way, he saw his concubine lying at the door of the house, and her hands were on the threshold.
He said to her, "Get up, and let us go." But there was no answer.
Then he put her on the donkey; and the man left and went home.
When he arrived at his house, he took a knife, and taking hold of his concubine, he cut her limb by limb into twelve pieces, and sent her throughout all the territory of Israel.
All who saw the dismembered parts said, "Nothing like this has ever happened or been seen from the day that the sons of Israel came up from the land of Egypt to this day. Consider it, take counsel, and speak!"
I was very angered by these verses because the man is supposed to protect the woman, not be a coward and allow the woman to be treated the way she was.
So I asked the AI on my browser about that verse and what it said helped me to understand that God was not happy or agreeable to what happened.
This is the question I asked, "Why was it considered okay for the husband to not protect his concubine from being raped?"
The answer: It was NOT considered morally acceptable or "okay" within the biblical narrative for the husband (the Levite) to fail to protect his concubine.
The story of Judges 19 is presented as a horrific example of the moral chaos and depravity that existed in Israel at the time.
The book of Judges repeatedly emphasizes the phrase, "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes" (Judges 17:6, 21:25).
This refrain frames the entire narrative, indicating that the Levite's actions were a symptom of a society that had rejected God's leadership and moral law. The text does not endorse his behaviour; rather, it exposes the depths of human wickedness when divine authority is ignored.
The Levite's decision to push his concubine out to the mob was driven by cowardice and self-preservation, not cultural acceptance.
The narrative highlights his callousness. After she died, he showed no grief or remorse, treating her body as an object to be cut into twelve pieces to provoke a political response.
While the text does not record an immediate punishment for the Levite, his actions are portrayed negatively. His name is not even mentioned, which some commentators view as a form of dishonor.
This answer really helped me to understand that this was not considered acceptable behaviour for a man to preserve himself by allowing a woman to suffer instead.
I hope this post finds you well and has helped others to understand this part of the Bible better too.

- This needs to be read by everyone, what a wonderful sermonThis needs to be read by everyone, what a wonderful sermonThe Power of Words
From the very beginning, God spoke, and it happened.
“Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. Genesis 1:3
His Word brought creation into being. The Bible teaches that we are made in God’s image Genesis 1:27, and because of that, our words also carry incredible power.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
Every day we have a choice. We can speak words that bring life, hope, healing, and encouragement, or words that wound, discourage, and destroy.
When I was growing up there was a saying:
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.”
The truth is, that simply isn’t true.
My son Tyson, while preparing a sermon, gave that old saying a beautiful new ending:
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but the Word of God will heal my soul.”
What a powerful revelation.
Words matter.
Many of us still carry words that were spoken over us as children.
“You’ll never be enough.”
“You can’t do it.”
“No one will ever love you.”
“There’s something wrong with you.”
Those weren’t just careless comments. They became deep wounds that many carry into adulthood. Those wounds can shape our identity, affect our relationships, and even make it difficult to believe that God truly loves us or that people can be trusted.
But God speaks a different language.
Romans 4:17 says that God “calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” He speaks His promises before we can see them. He declares identity before we feel worthy of it. He calls us redeemed before we feel forgiven.
When we begin to speak words that agree with God’s Word, we are planting seeds of truth that will eventually produce fruit in our lives.
The opposite is also true. When we continually speak fear, doubt, shame, and unbelief, we strengthen the very lies that seek to keep us captive.
God invites us to replace those lies with His truth.
To exchange fear for faith.
Shame for acceptance.
Hopelessness for hope.
Bondage for freedom.
Isaiah 55:11 gives us this incredible promise:
“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
God’s Word never returns empty.
It always accomplishes His purpose.
Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus demonstrated the power of words.
He healed with words.
“Be healed.”
He forgave with words.
“Your sins are forgiven.”
He cast out demons with words.
“Come out!”
He resisted temptation with words.
“It is written…”
He calmed storms with words.
“Peace, be still.”
He raised the dead with words.
“Lazarus, come out!”
Where others saw impossibility, Jesus spoke life.
His words changed hearts, bodies, minds, circumstances, and even nature itself.
Then Jesus made an astounding promise:
“Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do…” John 14:12
We have no power in our own words alone. Our authority comes when our words agree with His Word. As we speak the promises of God over our lives, our families, our circumstances, and those around us, we become vessels through whom His life flows.
So whose words will you choose to believe today?
The words of the enemy that say:
“You’ll never be enough.”
“You’ll never change.”
“There’s no hope.”
Or the words of your heavenly Father, who says:
“You are chosen.”
“You are loved.”
“You are forgiven.”
“You are My workmanship.”
“You are a new creation.”
Speak His Word.
Believe His Word.
Stand on His Word.
For His Word will accomplish everything He has sent it to do.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 24 Views1

- I wanted to share this video, it is a beautiful funeral of a very strong brother in Christ whom I knew since I was a child. He has always been in the children's ministry, when I was a child I knew him as the guy with the guitar. Last year when I returned to church I walked for 2 hours from my place to go to church and while everyone else was discouraging me from doing that, Pastor Luke Walford was the one who said, "God will definitely bless you for your efforts!"
Sadly he died near the end of last year from a shark attack.
This is a very spiritually encouraging video about how he lived and how he served God with joy in his heart.

- I love the Vision weekly memory Bible verses, this one in particular is a very helpful one in my case, it is good for Christians new and old to remember that it is by God’s grace we are saved and our actions cannot earn it, it is a free gift.
