2 Colossians 2:6-7 NASB Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, [7] having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. When we were born again, we were "firmly rooted." The foundation is secured, and we are safe in Christ. No one can pluck us up, because noone can ruin what the Lord has planted. Having eternal life, we now grow and mature in Him; "built up in Him." This confidence and reliance on Jesus alone for our salvation, and our continued right standing with God, is being "established in your faith." ➡️ What comes before and after the verse?
➡️ How does this passage fit into the larger story of Scripture?

We CAN'T reconcile ourselves to God. There's nothing from us that is worthy of the Father's favor. We may only submit ourselves to the reconciliation God freely offers through Christ and his FINISHED work at the cross. God made a way, through his Son, to make peace with us, despite how evil we have been or how terrible we can become, through the blood of Jesus on the cross. It is the obedience of Christ to submit to the cross and not our own obedience that saves us and goes on saving us. That's the gospel folks.
