Micah 2:12–13 reminds us that judgment is not God’s final word for His people—hope is.

The Lord gathers His people like a shepherd, breaks through every barrier that holds them captive, and leads them forward as their King.

In a world filled with confusion, fear, and brokenness, this passage points us to the faithfulness of God and the saving power of Christ. He is still the Shepherd who gathers, the Breaker who delivers, and the King who leads.

Take a few moments to read this new blog and be encouraged by the reminder that no obstacle is too great for the Lord to overcome.

  • What are the warning signs of a dying church?

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/07/31/seven-symptoms-of-a-dying-church-and-the-hope-of-revival/

Churches rarely drift overnight. More often, decline happens slowly as unhealthy patterns become normal. In this new post, I look at seven symptoms of a dying church—from continuous conflict and prolonged meetings to protecting traditions more than pursuing the mission of Christ.

But this is not a message of hopelessness. A dying church is never beyond the reach of a living Savior. Jesus still calls His people to wake up, strengthen what remains, and return to Him.

“Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die.” — Revelation 3:2

If you’ve ever wondered how churches lose their spiritual vitality—and how renewal can begin—this post is for you.

  • Can a person be saved without truly living as a disciple of Jesus Christ?

    https://youtu.be/vNYr9CKgUyY

Salvation and discipleship are closely connected, but they are not exactly the same. Salvation is God’s gift of eternal life, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the daily commitment to follow Jesus, obey His Word, surrender every area of our lives to Him, and become more like Him.

In this video, we examine four important differences between salvation and discipleship:
    • Salvation is a gift; discipleship is a commitment.
• Salvation happens at conversion; discipleship happens daily.
• Salvation rests on what Christ has done; discipleship responds to what Christ says.
• Salvation changes our spiritual status; discipleship transforms our character.

We are not saved because we follow Jesus perfectly. We are saved because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. However, those who have received His saving grace are called into a lifetime of following Him.
Discipleship is not perfection—it is direction. It is a life that continually turns toward Jesus, even after failure.

As you watch, consider these questions:

    - Have I genuinely placed my faith in Jesus Christ?
    - Am I following Jesus only when it is convenient?
    - What area of my life have I not fully surrendered to Him?
    - Is my character becoming more like Christ?
    - What act of obedience is Jesus calling me to take today?

Share your thoughts in the comments: What area of discipleship is God currently working on in your life?

  • One of the greatest lessons we can learn in the Christian life is that contentment is not found in having more — it is found in knowing Christ.

In Philippians 4:10–20, Paul reminds us that contentment is learned, generosity is worship, and God faithfully provides for His people. Our circumstances may change, but Christ never does.

May we learn to be satisfied in Him, give with hearts of worship, and trust that our God will supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

  • For a long time, video was one of the main ways I shared what God was placing on my heart. But over time, I began to sense a shift.

    Writing has given me space.

    Space to think.
    Space to breathe.
    Space to grow.
Space to slow down and express things with greater clarity and purpose.

This move from video to writing is not about stepping away from connection. It is about leaning into a new season of communication, stewardship, and obedience. Sometimes the most faithful next step is not doing more. Sometimes it is slowing down, picking up the pen, and trusting God to use the words for whoever needs them.

I wrote more about this transition in my latest blog post:

  • Obedience to God does not always make life easier at first.

    Sometimes it stirs up opposition.
Sometimes it exposes what people have been trusting in.
Sometimes it forces us to choose between defending our idols or surrendering fully to the Lord.

In Judges 6:28–35, Gideon obeyed God even though he was afraid. His obedience became a witness. His weakness became a platform for God’s power. What began with a torn-down altar became the beginning of deliverance.

    Maybe you feel weak.
    Maybe you feel afraid.
    Maybe you feel unlikely.

But God does not need the strongest person in the room. He is still able to clothe weakness with His power and use obedience as a testimony.

  • Have you ever asked God to use your life while still holding on to something He has already asked you to surrender?

In Judges 6:19–27, before Gideon ever faced Midian, God first called him to tear down the altar of Baal in his own household. Victory did not begin on the battlefield. It began with surrender.

This passage reminds us that God often tears down idols before He builds leaders. He gives peace before victory, courage through obedience, and freedom through repentance.
Yahweh-Shalom — the LORD is Peace.
