    Another candle on the cake. Another year has passed.

    Is a birthday merely a worldly custom, or can it become an occasion that truly honors Christ?

    You've celebrated every birthday you've ever had. But have you ever stopped to ask:
    — 𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘥𝘢𝘺?

    Before answering too quickly, let's sit under one verse and allow it to search our hearts.

    𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟎:𝟑𝟏 (KJV)
    “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘵, 𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘬, 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘴𝘰𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘦 𝘥𝘰, 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥.”

    Paul wasn't speaking only about worship services or special religious occasions. He was talking about everything—ordinary moments, daily activities, celebrations, and yes, even birthdays.

    Here is the challenging truth:
    If you're not celebrating your birthday to God's glory, you're not celebrating it according to His purpose. That may be difficult to hear, but it's a question every believer should consider.

    The Birthday Checklist That Changes Everything
    — Look at the glass you're holding during your celebration. 𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘰𝘥?
    — Look at the clothes you're wearing. 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?
    — Look at the music, movies, conversations, guests, and activities surrounding your birthday. Ask yourself: "𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥?"

    Let's be honest. How many of us can confidently say that our last birthday celebration was truly centered on honoring Him?

    This isn't meant to rob us of joy.
    It's meant to sanctify our joy.

    Some people argue that birthdays are neutral because they are rarely mentioned in Scripture. Yet the two birthday celebrations specifically recorded in the Bible should make us pause.

    Pharaoh's birthday was associated with an execution.

    Herod's birthday eventually led to the beheading of John the Baptist.

    Does this mean birthdays are evil? 𝐍𝐨.
    But it does remind us that a celebration without God at the center can quickly become a platform for pride, self-indulgence, and sin.

    That is why Paul's command in 𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟎:𝟑𝟏 is so important. It transforms a self-focused day into a God-centered one.

    𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 "𝐃𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝"?
    Scripture gives us clear guidance.
    — To glorify God means:
    — To act with gratitude. Recognizing every breath and every year of life as a gift from Him.
    — To walk in humility. Refusing to make everything about ourselves.
    — To seek His approval. Valuing God's pleasure above likes, comments, and human praise.
    — To live in obedience. Aligning our choices with His Word.

    𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟑:𝟏𝟕 (KJV)

    Your birthday can become an act of worship, or it can become an act of self-indulgence.

    This can drift into legalism. Scripture gives believers liberty in matters not explicitly forbidden, while calling us to honor God in all things.

    Romans 14:5–6 (KJV):
    “One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.”

    Colossians 2:16 (KJV):

    1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (KJV):
    “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

    Galatians 2:20 (KJV):

    TITLE: "ARISE AND SHINE: LET YOUR LIGHT GLORIFY GOD"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV) "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

    Isaiah 60:1 (KJV) "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee."

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "Do not hide the light God has placed in you; let your life point others to Christ."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    Jesus declares in Matthew 5:14, "Ye are the light of the world." Light reveals what is hidden, provides direction, and dispels darkness. As believers, we are called to reflect the light of Christ through our character, words, choices, and good works.

    A light is valuable only when it is visible. Jesus therefore says that a city on a hill cannot be hidden and that a lamp should not be placed under a bushel—a container that would cover its brightness. In practical life, hiding our faith may mean remaining silent when we should speak truth, refusing to help when we can, or living in a way that does not reflect Christ.

    Jesus does not say that our light should shine so people will praise us. He gives the purpose clearly: "that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Our good works should direct people's attention beyond ourselves to God. Christian influence is most powerful when Christ receives the glory.

    Isaiah 60:1 gives a similar command: "Arise, shine." To arise means to get up from discouragement, passivity, fear, or spiritual weakness. To shine means to reflect God's glory in the environment where He has placed us. The reason we can shine is that "thy light is come." Our light does not originate in ourselves; it comes from God.

    Life will bring dark seasons—disappointment, uncertainty, rejection, pressure, and difficult circumstances. Yet darkness is precisely when light becomes most noticeable. You may not be able to change everything around you, but you can choose to remain a source of hope, kindness, truth, faith, and encouragement.

    Today, do not hide what God has placed in you. Arise from discouragement. Shine through your conduct. Serve others with love. Speak words of faith. Let your life become a visible testimony of God's goodness.

    When your light shines, people should not merely see you—they should see the glory of your Father.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S)

    Philippians 2:15 (KJV) "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"

    Ephesians 5:8 (KJV) "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:"

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. Believers are called to reflect Christ's light wherever they are.

    2. Your good works should point people to God, not to personal glory.

    3. Spiritual light becomes especially valuable during seasons of darkness.

    4. We must arise from fear, discouragement, and passivity and walk boldly in God's purpose.

    5. A consistent Christian life can influence others toward Christ.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Let Christ's light shine through your words, character, kindness, and good works today.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, let Your light shine through my life. Help me arise above every discouragement and reflect Christ so that others may see Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    Friday, 14th August, 2026 TITLE: "ARISE AND SHINE: LET YOUR LIGHT GLORIFY GOD" ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV) "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Isaiah 60:1 (KJV) "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "Do not hide the light God has placed in you; let your life point others to Christ." DAY'S REFLECTION Jesus declares in Matthew 5:14, "Ye are the light of the world." Light reveals what is hidden, provides direction, and dispels darkness. MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) Philippians 2:15 (KJV) "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;" Ephesians 5:8 (KJV) "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:" LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS) 1. • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    MONDAY AUGUST 3, 2O26.
    " WHAT IS A PARENT TO DO?"

    'But his sons did not walk in his ways...’ 1 Samuel 8:3 NIV

    AT TIMES every parent despairs over their child’s decisions and actions. ‘I did my best to bring them up correctly; did I fail as a parent?’ Failure is a fact of life—and of parenting—and nobody does it perfectly! Parents assume a heavier load of guilt than they deserve. Consider some Bible examples of real-world parenting: Isaac had, at best, a 50 percent success rate with his sons, Jacob and Esau. Aaron struck out completely with Nadab and Abihu. Manoah’s boy Samson didn’t win the ‘son-of-the-year award’! And Samuel, a recognised moral and spiritual giant, watched his sons reject his example and teaching and pursue lives of bribery and shame. Since Adam, children ‘doing their own thing’ have broken their parents’ hearts! So what is a parent to do? 1) Realise you’re not responsible for their decisions. They make their own choices. Condemning yourself just discourages you, and it undermines your ability to be the parent they need. The Bible says, ‘…Salvation is of the Lord’ (Jonah 2:9 NJKV). He saves and delivers—not you. 2) Pray for them and give them to God. Anxiety and frustration will only make you the kind of parent they don’t enjoy being around, and who can’t enjoy them. You’re not built to carry such a load; your heavenly Father is, and He wants to carry it for you! (1 Peter 5:7). 3) Remember that God loves them more than you do! He gave His only child to save yours. He knows their heart, and how to reach it and turn it toward Him. So give your child to Him!

    *JESUS: THE LORD OVER ALL* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽🏽

    ```TEXT:LUKE 4:33-44```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them" (LUKE 4:40).*_

    *The Greek word for "Lord" translates to _Adonai_ in Hebrew. In modern parlance, it means "supreme Lord", an incommunicable name of God, and the substitute for Jehovah, a name the Jews would not pronounce. It is in this sense that Christ is 'the Lord, the Lord of lords, the Lord God'. Lord, in the sense in which God alone can be Lord speaks of His dominion over all things. Christ validates this in Capernaum.*

    *Stepping out of Nazareth with defiance, Christ came into Capernaum with singleness of mind to pursue his tripartite ministry of teaching, healing and preaching. In the synagogue, on the Sabbath day, Christ stood tall as the Conqueror of sin, sickness and Satan; the Controller of demons and fallen angels and of course a compassionate consummate Saviour who speaks peace and hope to humanity.*

    *In His towering yet meek posture, power meets with pity and that resulted in a stream of miracles, which confirmed His divinity. He stood as the Lord over all. The tone of authority and sternness rested fully in Him. He has pity on the convicted who sincerely seeks redemption and with the same breath turns to unclean, defiling spirits with a poignantly severe countenance. Even the acknowledgement of His divinity as "The Holy One of God", or "Jesus of Nazareth", or "Christ the Son of God" were not dignified with any form of approval. He will not have His name soiled by such lips.*

    *Significantly, for you as a Christian pilgrim today, Christ's ministry in Capernaum is a model on which authentic ministries and ministrations must be built. First, since Jesus placed an uncommon emphasis on the preaching of the word, so must you do today and so walk in His steps. It is the word that converts sinners, edifies saints and wings the power that heals, delivers and liberates from satanic yokes. Secondly, since Jesus unswervingly devoted Himself to His mission to preach the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:43, 44), so must every Christian who is a beneficiary of the atonement at Calvary. Thirdly, just as Jesus resisted every distraction from His central calling, so must you also remain undistracted by the miracles, signs and wonders of the day. The Great Commission coupled with holiness of life must tower over and above every other concern, legitimate or otherwise. Finally, the agency of miracles then and now remains the same. It is always the spoken word, NOT water, oil, candle or garments, gymnastics or any hocus-pocus. Cling to Christ's model and He will be Lord over all in your life, family and ministry.*

    ``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly" (MATTHEW 6:6).*_
    *A spiritual legend, John Wesley says: "God does nothing except in response to believing prayer." God, our Creator has given us all things that relate to our lives and godliness. However, our prayer must follow a godly pattern for it to be acceptable and potent. Those who engage in prayer and fasting for show like the Pharisees cannot please God, and their prayers are worthless before Him.*
    *The state of your heart is very important when you pray. You should never make prayer a thing of competition as the Lord will reject such. Praying to God in secret indicates a practice of privacy and intimacy with God. It goes with total surrendering of your life, actions and dealings to God. Prayers with anger and malice are abominable before God.*
    *Remember, the Lord is interested in a prayer from a broken and contrite heart. It is important to note that God does not answer the prayer of a sinner, except if it is a prayer of repentance. Do you have a relationship with God? Repent of your sins for your prayers to be effective.*
    *"STUDY TO BE QUIET"* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽
    ```1 THESSALONIANS 4:11,12```

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you" (1 Thessalonians 4:11).*_
    One of the reasons for going to school is to study; to learn what you do not know and what will be beneficial to you in future. You will be very ignorant if you have not attended a school and studied.
    You study many subjects, but they all combine to make you one "learned" person. However, we do not study everything from school. There are some habits or virtues that you must teach yourself.
    Today, we learn on the need to be quiet, do your own business (assignments), work with your own hands, and not disturb others. Quietness is a good habit we must learn or study if we are to grow up and be responsible adults.
    It is not others that cause you to disturb; or not to keep quiet and pay attention. It is because you choose to show undue interest in what others do or say. It takes a great deal of self-control to be quiet and remain so. Some children keep quiet and concentrate on their work only for a moment.
    Of course, you must be quiet before you can work well with your own hands. You lose attention or concentration immediately you begin to talk about other things, except about what you are doing. That is why your teacher always insists that you keep quiet in the class.
    *You will run into many problems if you fail to obey the instruction of the Bible: "study to be quiet". You will end up being a busybody. You will not be able to gainfully use your time, work hard and succeed. From this moment, listen more, talk less!*
    *PROOFS OF THE ULTIMATE POWER AND AUTHORITY OF CHRIST*
    *TEXT:* LUKE 4:33-44.
    33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
    34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
    35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
    36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
    37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
    38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
    39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
    40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
    41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
    42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
    43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
    44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
    *Timeless Truth:*
    _"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father"_ (Philippians 2:10,11).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Courts naturally assume a witness called by the defense is meant to help the accused. When that witness instead supports the accuser, the testimony is viewed as inherently honest because it goes against the witness's apparent allegiance. It completely destroys the specific line of defense the witness was brought to prove, leaving the accused’s story isolated or contradicted. The prosecution can heavily rely on this testimony during closing arguments to show that even the defendant’s own chosen witness knows the truth of the charges. The ministry of Jesus Christ was marked by undeniable demonstrations of His supreme power and divine authority. The fact that even demons, diseases and every force of darkness are all confessing to the power and authority of Jesus are strong and undeniable proofs that Jesus is truly Lord over all.
    *1. Honest Confession of the Demons*
    a. Right there *"in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean devil"*. This man was in the synagogue. As long as there was no fire of the Holy Spirit in the Synagogue, the man was comfortably "worshipping". In some denominations of today, there are such people who are talented and appear zealous for God, but have evil spirits inside them because the church is void of the fire of the Holy Spirit. Such people, in cooperation with demons, do a lot of undetected havoc in the House of God. As Jesus taught in the Synagogue, the demon inside him started making cowardly and honest confessions. He, like the damsel possessed by the spirit of divination in Acts 16:16-18, started manifesting. He confessed, *"I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God."* He *"cried with a loud voice"* like a person manifesting the gift of prophecy. His confession was a combination of truth and falsehood as expected of corrupting demons. Jesus is truly the Holy One of God. However, the accusation that Jesus came to destroy them before their time was meant to put Jesus in a wrong perspective. The fact that Jesus did not destroy, but only cast them out, showed that the demon was actually ignorant or was deliberately lying. Satan is an incurable pathological liar who will always mix lies with truth so as to deceive the gullible. *"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."*
    b. It should not be surprising then that Jesus rebuked him and said *"hold thy peace"* though it appeared the demon was saying something positive about Christ. They will always try to win one's confidence with known truth before sneaking in poisons of errors. It is therefore, dangerous to base our doctrines and beliefs on the confession of those possessed with demons. The Word of God is the ultimate truth given to man on earth. It is the Word of God and His work that have been divinely decreed to glorify God and not unclean demons. Are these not the same demons who confess to the Lordship of Christ, but later go and deceive many that Jesus is not Lord? Are these not the demons that deceived a whole Jewish nation that Jesus is not the Messiah they were looking for? Our faith should rest only on the sufficient Word of God.
    Sadly, while demons acknowledged Christ's authority, many human beings still reject Him.
    *Question*
    Do you have the practical and experiential knowledge of Christ as the Lord of all, including you?
    *2.The Humiliating Christ's Dominion*
    a. The text is showing the total and absolute dominion of Christ over demons. It was a humiliating demonstration that if those demons have their way they would have loved to avoid such a scenario. Jesus commanded him to shut up and *"come out of him"*. Don't deal gently with demons; speak to them with the authority of Jesus. The demon had to surrender and come out shamefully. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit with absolute authority. The demon obeyed immediately without resistance, proving that Satan's kingdom is completely subject to Christ's dominion. The people were astonished because His words carried divine authority unlike anything they had witnessed before.
    b. Christ's dominion is supreme over every demonic force, every stronghold and every work of darkness. No power can withstand His command. When believers use the name of Jesus to cast out demons, the demons must. *"At the name (or authority) of Jesus, every knee must bow"*, either in heaven, on earth or underneath the earth (Philippians 2:10, 11). All witchcraft, sorcery, evil works of darkness are all works of demons. Believers should learn to use the name of Jesus to deal with those forces of darkness with unwavering and persistent authority and faith.
    *Question*
    Am I living daily in the confidence of Christ's absolute authority over every power of darkness?
    *3. Healer and Conqueror over all Diseases*
    a. Modern medicine attributes all physical and mental illnesses to natural, biological, genetic and environmental causes. Medical causes of illness include pathogens, genetics and environmental factors.
    Also, psychosomatic effects such as high stress and emotional distress can manifest as physical symptoms. The fact that there are many medically incurable (or unknown cure) sickness and diseases, that are cured by simple prayer in the name of Jesus, is an indication that many sicknesses and diseases have spiritual undertones.
    Jesus rebuked Simon's mother-in-law's fever, just like He rebuked a demon and she was instantly healed and began serving others. Also, to Jesus were brought *all kinds of sick individuals to Him, and He healed them*. Though Jesus is not against medical healing, He never referred any sick to the hospitals of those days; He healed them all. No disease was beyond His power.
    b. His compassion matched His authority. Christ remains the Great Physician who heals physically according to His will, restores spiritually, and delivers completely from the bondage of sin. His power is sufficient for every need of His children. Has Jesus changed? (Hebrews 13:8).
    *Question*
    Have I brought every sickness, burden and impossible situation to the Great Healer in faith?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to recognize and submit completely to Your supreme power and authority .
    2.Father, give me spiritual fire that I will be a threat to demons and their works .
    3.Great Physician, let Your healing and deliverance touch be more manifested in my ministry .
    4.Let the power of the Holy Spirit manifest mightily in Your Church so that spiritually camouflaging people will not have a hiding place in the congregation .
    *HYMN:* Christ Jesus hath the power
    *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 6-7.
    2. Morning prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. ⏤ Psalm 119:105
    The Scriptures are God’s voice to us in our present hour. ⏤ A.W. Tozer
    Our Father, bless Your word to us, which we have read together this morning. We thank You that it brings us the very counsel of Your will. May it stay in our hearts all day. May it be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path as we go forth. May its truth shine within us, showing us Your will, what Your thoughts concerning us are, and what You would have us do. We thank You for this heavenly light You have given us. Without it, we could never find our way home through the tangled paths. Without it, we would not know that You love us or think of us. Help us to receive Your words always with meekness and humility. Help us to walk in the way You have made clear to us.
    We ask You to fill us with Your love this morning as we begin the day, so that wherever we go, our faces may shine with something of the light of Your face. We have no light of our own. Our lamps are empty unless You fill them. We ask You to give us Your grace, to fill our little lamps, that they may burn brightly. We do not want to be in darkness in this world—but desire to be lights, and we will shine if we have Your grace in us. Fill us with Your holy light.
    We yearn to be blessings today to each other and to everyone we meet. Give us something to carry to others—something of Your love and grace. Lay Your hand upon us and give us each a Father’s blessing, first for ourselves and then to share with our neighbors and friends.
    Keep us all from evil. Let us not sin willfully against You this day. Bring us all together in the evening when our work is done, if it be Your will. We ask all these favors in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
He will not have His name soiled by such lips.* *Significantly, for you as a Christian pilgrim today, Christ's ministry in Capernaum is a model on which authentic ministries and ministrations must be built. First, since Jesus placed an uncommon emphasis on the preaching of the word, so must you do today and so walk in His steps. It is the word that converts sinners, edifies saints and wings the power that heals, delivers and liberates from satanic yokes. Secondly, since Jesus unswervingly devoted Himself to His mission to preach the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:43, 44), so must every Christian who is a beneficiary of the atonement at Calvary. Thirdly, just as Jesus resisted every distraction from His central calling, so must you also remain undistracted by the miracles, signs and wonders of the day. The Great Commission coupled with holiness of life must tower over and above every other concern, legitimate or otherwise. Finally, the agency of miracles then and now remains the same. It is always the spoken word, NOT water, oil, candle or garments, gymnastics or any hocus-pocus. Cling to Christ's model and He will be Lord over all in your life, family and ministry.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Jesus Christ is valued above all and He is Lord over all.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *JOHN 6-7*📜📜 Jesus: The Lord Over All https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 214: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS' NAME!; GHS 73: JESUS ONLY IS OUR MESSAGE; GHS 211: CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS; AND GHS 115: LIFT HIM UP* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna3rdAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [02/08, 8:31 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```MONDAY 3RD AUGUST, 2026``` *PRAYER PATTERN* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🗣️🙏🏽🙌🏽 📜📜```TEXT:MATTHEW 6:5-15```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly" (MATTHEW 6:6).*_ *A spiritual legend, John Wesley says: "God does nothing except in response to believing prayer." God, our Creator has given us all things that relate to our lives and godliness. However, our prayer must follow a godly pattern for it to be acceptable and potent. Those who engage in prayer and fasting for show like the Pharisees cannot please God, and their prayers are worthless before Him.* *The state of your heart is very important when you pray. You should never make prayer a thing of competition as the Lord will reject such. Praying to God in secret indicates a practice of privacy and intimacy with God. It goes with total surrendering of your life, actions and dealings to God. Prayers with anger and malice are abominable before God.* *Remember, the Lord is interested in a prayer from a broken and contrite heart. It is important to note that God does not answer the prayer of a sinner, except if it is a prayer of repentance. Do you have a relationship with God? You will be very ignorant if you have not attended a school and studied. You study many subjects, but they all combine to make you one "learned" person. However, we do not study everything from school. There are some habits or virtues that you must teach yourself. Today, we learn on the need to be quiet, do your own business (assignments), work with your own hands, and not disturb others. Quietness is a good habit we must learn or study if we are to grow up and be responsible adults. It is not others that cause you to disturb; or not to keep quiet and pay attention. It is because you choose to show undue interest in what others do or say. It takes a great deal of self-control to be quiet and remain so. Some children keep quiet and concentrate on their work only for a moment. Of course, you must be quiet before you can work well with your own hands. You lose attention or concentration immediately you begin to talk about other things, except about what you are doing. That is why your teacher always insists that you keep quiet in the class. *You will run into many problems if you fail to obey the instruction of the Bible: "study to be quiet". You will end up being a busybody. You will not be able to gainfully use your time, work hard and succeed. I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. 36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about. 38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. 39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. 42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. 43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. 44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee. *Timeless Truth:* _"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father"_ (Philippians 2:10,11). *INTRODUCTION* Courts naturally assume a witness called by the defense is meant to help the accused. When that witness instead supports the accuser, the testimony is viewed as inherently honest because it goes against the witness's apparent allegiance. It completely destroys the specific line of defense the witness was brought to prove, leaving the accused’s story isolated or contradicted. The prosecution can heavily rely on this testimony during closing arguments to show that even the defendant’s own chosen witness knows the truth of the charges. The ministry of Jesus Christ was marked by undeniable demonstrations of His supreme power and divine authority. The fact that even demons, diseases and every force of darkness are all confessing to the power and authority of Jesus are strong and undeniable proofs that Jesus is truly Lord over all. *1. Honest Confession of the Demons* a. Right there *"in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean devil"*. This man was in the synagogue. As long as there was no fire of the Holy Spirit in the Synagogue, the man was comfortably "worshipping". In some denominations of today, there are such people who are talented and appear zealous for God, but have evil spirits inside them because the church is void of the fire of the Holy Spirit. Such people, in cooperation with demons, do a lot of undetected havoc in the House of God. As Jesus taught in the Synagogue, the demon inside him started making cowardly and honest confessions. He, like the damsel possessed by the spirit of divination in Acts 16:16-18, started manifesting. He confessed, *"I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God."* He *"cried with a loud voice"* like a person manifesting the gift of prophecy. His confession was a combination of truth and falsehood as expected of corrupting demons. Jesus is truly the Holy One of God. However, the accusation that Jesus came to destroy them before their time was meant to put Jesus in a wrong perspective. The fact that Jesus did not destroy, but only cast them out, showed that the demon was actually ignorant or was deliberately lying. Satan is an incurable pathological liar who will always mix lies with truth so as to deceive the gullible. *"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."* b. It should not be surprising then that Jesus rebuked him and said *"hold thy peace"* though it appeared the demon was saying something positive about Christ. They will always try to win one's confidence with known truth before sneaking in poisons of errors. It is therefore, dangerous to base our doctrines and beliefs on the confession of those possessed with demons. The Word of God is the ultimate truth given to man on earth. It is the Word of God and His work that have been divinely decreed to glorify God and not unclean demons. Are these not the same demons who confess to the Lordship of Christ, but later go and deceive many that Jesus is not Lord? Are these not the demons that deceived a whole Jewish nation that Jesus is not the Messiah they were looking for? Our faith should rest only on the sufficient Word of God. Sadly, while demons acknowledged Christ's authority, many human beings still reject Him. *Question* Do you have the practical and experiential knowledge of Christ as the Lord of all, including you? *2.The Humiliating Christ's Dominion* a. The text is showing the total and absolute dominion of Christ over demons. It was a humiliating demonstration that if those demons have their way they would have loved to avoid such a scenario. Jesus commanded him to shut up and *"come out of him"*. Don't deal gently with demons; speak to them with the authority of Jesus. The demon had to surrender and come out shamefully. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit with absolute authority. The demon obeyed immediately without resistance, proving that Satan's kingdom is completely subject to Christ's dominion. The people were astonished because His words carried divine authority unlike anything they had witnessed before. b. Christ's dominion is supreme over every demonic force, every stronghold and every work of darkness. No power can withstand His command. When believers use the name of Jesus to cast out demons, the demons must. *"At the name (or authority) of Jesus, every knee must bow"*, either in heaven, on earth or underneath the earth (Philippians 2:10, 11). All witchcraft, sorcery, evil works of darkness are all works of demons. Believers should learn to use the name of Jesus to deal with those forces of darkness with unwavering and persistent authority and faith. *Question* Am I living daily in the confidence of Christ's absolute authority over every power of darkness? *3. Healer and Conqueror over all Diseases* a. Modern medicine attributes all physical and mental illnesses to natural, biological, genetic and environmental causes. Medical causes of illness include pathogens, genetics and environmental factors. Also, psychosomatic effects such as high stress and emotional distress can manifest as physical symptoms. The fact that there are many medically incurable (or unknown cure) sickness and diseases, that are cured by simple prayer in the name of Jesus, is an indication that many sicknesses and diseases have spiritual undertones. Jesus rebuked Simon's mother-in-law's fever, just like He rebuked a demon and she was instantly healed and began serving others. Also, to Jesus were brought *all kinds of sick individuals to Him, and He healed them*. Though Jesus is not against medical healing, He never referred any sick to the hospitals of those days; He healed them all. No disease was beyond His power. b. His compassion matched His authority. Christ remains the Great Physician who heals physically according to His will, restores spiritually, and delivers completely from the bondage of sin. His power is sufficient for every need of His children. Has Jesus changed? (Hebrews 13:8). *Question* Have I brought every sickness, burden and impossible situation to the Great Healer in faith? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to recognize and submit completely to Your supreme power and authority 🙏. 2.Father, give me spiritual fire that I will be a threat to demons and their works 🙏. 3.Great Physician, let Your healing and deliverance touch be more manifested in my ministry 🙏. 4.Let the power of the Holy Spirit manifest mightily in Your Church so that spiritually camouflaging people will not have a hiding place in the congregation 🙏. *HYMN:* Christ Jesus hath the power *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 6-7. 2. Morning prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. ⏤ Psalm 119:105 The Scriptures are God’s voice to us in our present hour. ⏤ A.W. Tozer Our Father, bless Your word to us, which we have read together this morning. We thank You that it brings us the very counsel of Your will. May it stay in our hearts all day. May it be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path as we go forth. May its truth shine within us, showing us Your will, what Your thoughts concerning us are, and what You would have us do. We thank You for this heavenly light You have given us. Without it, we could never find our way home through the tangled paths. Without it, we would not know that You love us or think of us. Help us to receive Your words always with meekness and humility. Help us to walk in the way You have made clear to us. We ask You to fill us with Your love this morning as we begin the day, so that wherever we go, our faces may shine with something of the light of Your face. We have no light of our own. Our lamps are empty unless You fill them. We ask You to give us Your grace, to fill our little lamps, that they may burn brightly. We do not want to be in darkness in this world—but desire to be lights, and we will shine if we have Your grace in us. Fill us with Your holy light. We yearn to be blessings today to each other and to everyone we meet. Give us something to carry to others—something of Your love and grace. Lay Your hand upon us and give us each a Father’s blessing, first for ourselves and then to share with our neighbors and friends. Keep us all from evil. Let us not sin willfully against You this day. Bring us all together in the evening when our work is done, if it be Your will. We ask all these favors in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/29/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
    Can you believe these temperatures? I have actually put on jeans because it is too cool for me. Haha. Did not see that coming.
    One of the neat things about social media is that you can have fun with your picture. There are these games that you can play that are “What are you like in animal form, good and bad?” “If you were a bird, which one would you be?” “What is your spirit flower?” The list goes on. Well, last night I played a couple, and the ‘glamour’ shots that they envisioned for me were hilariously beautiful and totally not happening at all at the same time. Haha. I love seeing what the AI algorithm thinks of my picture in these different scenarios. It is fun. But … anyone who knows me … the true me … knows that it is completely false - A mask.
    This mask is meant for humor and enjoyment. Unfortunately, there are other masks out there that are for hiding the dark that lives in our lives. We have this unique way of portraying ourselves in a positive light so that no one will know the true darkness that hides in the shadows of our steps. It is not until we light the life-giving candle of Jesus Christ in our lives that we can shed our masks.
    There are many umbrellas that we all walk under throughout our lives. The enemy is in many, if not all of them, to some degree … even the one held by Christ. Stick with me here. Through our lives, we are guided by circumstances. This is the catalyst for that. Because of that, I did this. He said this, so I replied that. And so on. Circumstances and scenarios drive our steps. In that, we put on masks to make ourselves look better than we truly are. I go to church; therefore, I must always be happy, and nothing is ever wrong in my life … Mask. If I show distress of any kind, then the person I am trying to lead to Christ will run away … Mask.
    The enemy is constantly whispering his logical explanations over each step we make. Common sense explanations that truly hold water for thought. Making it seem as though the mask is the very thing that we need to keep up appearances and do God’s will. He makes very compelling arguments. Meanwhile, the mask is creating a lie. By keeping our troubles in the dark, we set those up around us for failure. Our struggles, our honesty, our transparency … that is what allows for the Light to shine out the darkness. Our ability to allow others to see the deepest truths of our lives is what will show them how we are still standing … because of the Love of Christ and our faith in him.
    The enemy would have us believe that if Jane knows about what I did ten years ago, she will tell the pastor and the pastor will not allow me to volunteer anymore because I am a bad person. If Jane knows what I did, I will be the gossip point for the whole community, and my reputation will be ruined. If Jane finds out my secrets, she will walk away from me, and I will have no one. If Jane … (fyi…I do not know anyone named Jane…fictional name for this purpose) The enemy will convince me to bury our secrets to protect ourselves. Sometimes in that protection we end up building barriers which in turn end up as lies so that no one knows. Those lies compound and create even bigger issues.
    This is not a call to stand on the street corner and confess your every sin of life. This is not a call for you to invite disruptive people into your life. This is a call for you to remove the mask of darkness, allow the Light to be your reflection, and when those secrets surface … face them head-on. “Yes, that was me then. But not anymore.” Once you do that and stand on it, darkness will no longer have any power over you. Today, I encourage you to find the mask that you are hiding behind and remove it. Your face is beautiful in the light of His love.
    Be blessed.
    **The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. – Romans 13:12
    TITLE: "Shining as Lights in a Dark World"
    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)
    Daniel 12:3 (KJV) "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."
    Philippians 2:15 (KJV) "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"
    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON
    "The brightest light is not seen at noon but in the darkest night. God calls His people to shine where His truth is needed most."
    DAY'S REFLECTION
    God has always desired His people to stand out as examples of righteousness. Daniel prophesied that those who walk in wisdom and lead others to righteousness will shine like the brightness of the heavens forever. Their influence is not temporary but carries eternal significance because it points people toward God.
    Paul echoes this truth by urging believers to live blameless and pure lives in a morally confused world. Christians are called to be lights, reflecting the character of Christ through integrity, love, truth, and compassion. Our testimony often speaks louder than our words.
    Consider a lighthouse standing on a rocky coastline during a storm. It cannot stop the wind or calm the sea, but its steady light guides ships safely through danger. In the same way, believers may not remove every difficulty around them, but by living faithfully they can guide others toward hope, truth, and salvation in Christ.
    Every conversation, decision, and act of kindness is an opportunity to shine for God's glory. The world does not need believers who simply blend in; it needs disciples who faithfully reflect Christ wherever they are. As you remain rooted in God's Word and empowered by His Spirit, your life will become a beacon that leads others to Him.
    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES
    Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV) "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
    Proverbs 11:30 (KJV) "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise."
    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)
    1. God calls every believer to live as a light in the world.
    2. Wisdom is demonstrated by leading others to righteousness.
    3. A godly lifestyle has lasting influence.
    4. Integrity and compassion glorify God.
    5. Faithful witness brings eternal rewards.
    EVERYDAY ACTION
    Reflect Christ in your words and actions.
    Encourage someone with God's truth.
    Be intentional about sharing your faith.
    Let your conduct honour God.
    PRAYER
    Heavenly Father, help me to shine as a light in this world. Give me wisdom to lead others to You and let my life bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
    DECLARATION
    I am a light in this world. God's wisdom directs my life. My conduct reflects Christ. I will influence others for righteousness. My life will glorify God and point many to Him.
    UNDERSTANDING DIVINE LEADING (2)
    "The Spirit itself (Himself) bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." (Romans 8:16)
    God communicates with His children primarily through their regenerated human spirit.
    Nowhere in Scripture does God promise to lead us through our intellect, emotions, or physical senses.
    Proverbs 20:27 declares:
    "The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly."
    Notice that it is the spirit of man, not the mind or the body that God enlightens and guides.
    The Holy Spirit bears witness with our regenerated spirit. His leading comes as an inward witness, a quiet conviction, or a gentle prompting within our hearts; not merely through our feelings or reasoning.
    Many times, because of religious traditions or a lack of understanding, people say, "Something told me," or "I just had a feeling." In reality, when it is consistent with God's Word, it is often the Holy Spirit bearing witness with our spirit.
    To walk effectively in divine guidance, we must remain conscious of our true identity.
    Man is essentially a spirit; he has a soul and lives in a body.
    At salvation, your spirit was recreated to fellowship with the Holy Spirit. As you grow in God's Word and maintain communion with Him, you become increasingly sensitive to His leading.
    God will continually direct your life by communicating with your regenerated spirit through His Holy Spirit.
    Declare This:
    I am a child of God, and I am led by His Spirit. My regenerated spirit is sensitive to the inward witness of the Holy Spirit. I discern His voice clearly, walk confidently in His guidance, and never miss His direction for my life, in Jesus' name. Amen.
  • Shine Your Light (Matthew 5:14–16)
    The world doesn't need more darkness.
    It needs light.
    Jesus looked at His followers and made an incredible statement:
    “You are the light of the world.”
    He didn't say, "You might become the light."
    He said, "You are the light."
    As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect His love, truth, and hope wherever we go.
    Think about a single candle in a dark room.
    It doesn't remove every shadow instantly.
    But it changes the atmosphere.
    In the same way, your life can bring hope to someone who feels hopeless.
    Your kindness can brighten someone's difficult day.
    Your integrity can inspire trust.
    Your words can encourage a discouraged heart.
    Your faith can point someone toward Jesus.
    Jesus also said that no one lights a lamp and then hides it.
    In the same way, don't hide the faith God has placed in your heart.
    Let people see Christ through the way you live.
    Be honest when others choose shortcuts.
    Be compassionate when others ignore those in need.
    Be forgiving when the world encourages revenge.
    Be joyful even in difficult seasons because your hope is found in Christ.
    Your light is not meant to draw attention to you.
    Its purpose is to point people to God.
    Every good deed done in love...
    Every encouraging word...
    Every act of generosity...
    Every moment of faithfulness...
    Can become a testimony that leads others to glorify your Heavenly Father.
    Today, ask yourself:
    Am I shining the light of Christ in my home, school, workplace, church, and online?
    Don't hide your light.
    Let it shine brightly.
    Someone may find hope because they saw Jesus reflected in you.
    How can you shine the light of Christ for someone today?
    PREPARE WISELY FOR THE OPPORTUNITIES AHEAD
    Scripture Reading:
    Ecclesiastes 11:2 (TPT)
    "Divide your investments among many ventures, for you never know what kind of bad luck might happen in this world."
    Wisdom teaches us to prepare for the future while making the most of the opportunities available to us today. Ecclesiastes reminds us of the importance of diversification and wise stewardship because no one knows everything that tomorrow may bring.
    As we navigate these changing times, we must be willing to learn, adapt, and remain open to new opportunities. A rigid mindset can limit a person's ability to recognize possibilities, while wisdom enables us to explore, grow, and respond appropriately to changing circumstances.
    Do not limit yourself to only one area of knowledge, skill, or enterprise. You may not become an expert in every field, but you can develop an understanding of different opportunities and learn how various areas work. Remain curious, teachable, and willing to explore new directions.
    The principle of diversification can also apply to how we manage our resources. Where appropriate, learn the value of saving, planning, and making responsible financial decisions. Do not place everything you have in one direction without considering the risks involved. Seek knowledge, count the cost, and make decisions with wisdom.
    We are living in a rapidly changing world, especially with the growth of technology and artificial intelligence. Therefore, it is important to remain informed and develop relevant skills. Explore how emerging technologies may create new opportunities for learning, work, business, and investment—but always approach every opportunity with wisdom, careful research, and responsible judgment.
    Most importantly, remember that our confidence is not in money, markets, technology, or human systems. Our confidence is in God, who gives wisdom, creativity, strength, and the ability to recognize and steward opportunities.
    Be flexible, remain teachable, plan wisely, and prepare for the future. As you look in different directions, trust God to guide your steps and give you the wisdom to recognize the opportunities He places before you.
    Prayer:
    Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom You make available to us through Your Word and Your Spirit. Help us to recognize opportunities, manage our resources wisely, remain teachable, and prepare responsibly for the future. Give us discernment to make sound decisions and the courage to explore new possibilities according to Your will. May we faithfully steward every opportunity and resource You place in our hands. In Jesus' name, Amen.
  • TODAY'S MESSAGE
    SERMON TOPIC:
    BE A VOICE FOR PEACE IN YOUR NATION.
    A Voice That Can Change a Nation
    Beloved, every nation rises or falls because of the voices that shape it. Some voices spread hatred, violence, division, and fear, while others bring healing, hope, reconciliation, and peace.
    Today, our nation and many nations of the world are facing insecurity, tribal conflicts, political tension, economic hardship, terrorism, kidnapping, and increasing hatred. In moments like these, God is not only looking for people who will complain—He is looking for people who will become His voice of peace.
    As believers, we are ambassadors of Christ. Wherever we go, we carry Heaven's message of peace. God has called us to be peacemakers, not troublemakers.
    The question is: What kind of voice are you in your family, church, workplace, community, and nation?
    Key Bible Texts
    Matthew 5:9
    > "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
    Jesus did not say blessed are the peace lovers, but blessed are the peacemakers. Peace must be intentionally created. God's children actively build bridges where others build walls.
    Romans 12:18
    > "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."
    God expects believers to pursue peace wherever possible.
    Jeremiah 29:7
    > "Seek the peace and prosperity of the city... Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
    God instructed His people to pray for the peace of the land where they lived because the well-being of the nation affects everyone.
    Psalm 34:14
    > "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it."
    Peace is not passive. It must be pursued with determination.
    1. Peace Begins in the Heart
    A troubled heart produces troubled words.
    Many wars begin in human hearts before they appear in society.
    Jesus gives peace that the world cannot offer.
    When Christ rules your heart, your words become instruments of healing instead of destruction.
    Before changing your nation, allow God to change your heart.
    2. Your Words Can Build or Destroy a Nation
    Proverbs teaches that life and death are in the power of the tongue.
    Many conflicts spread because people circulate lies, hatred, tribal prejudice, and false information.
    A Christian should never become a distributor of division.
    Ask yourself:
    Does what I post promote peace?
    Do my conversations unite or divide?
    Do I encourage forgiveness or revenge?
    Your voice should always reflect Christ.
    3. Pray for Your Nation Instead of Cursing It
    Complaining has never transformed a nation.
    Prayer invites God's intervention.
    When believers stop praying, darkness gains ground.
    The early church prayed.
    The prophets prayed.
    Daniel prayed for his nation.
    Nehemiah prayed before rebuilding Jerusalem.
    If Christians will sincerely pray, God can heal the land.
    4. Become an Agent of Reconciliation
    Everywhere Jesus went, He reconciled people to God.
    God has now entrusted believers with the ministry of reconciliation.
    Forgive quickly.
    Settle conflicts.
    Encourage unity.
    Speak wisdom during crises.
    Where others spread hatred, spread love.
    5. Be the Light in Times of Darkness
    Darkness never overcomes light.
    One candle can illuminate a dark room.
    One peaceful believer can calm an entire family.
    One righteous church can influence a community.
    One praying generation can preserve a nation.
    Never underestimate the influence of one surrendered believer.
    Biblical Example:
    Abigail Prevented Bloodshed (1 Samuel 25)
    David was ready to destroy Nabal's household after being insulted.
    Abigail acted with wisdom, humility, and courage.
    She spoke peacefully.
    She brought reconciliation.
    She prevented unnecessary bloodshed.
    One wise woman changed the course of history.
    Likewise, God can use one believer to stop conflict and preserve lives.
    Modern Illustration
    In many communities, violence has been prevented because pastors, community leaders, traditional rulers, and ordinary believers chose dialogue instead of revenge.
    Families have been restored because one person decided to forgive.
    Churches have remained united because someone chose humility over pride.
    Never underestimate the power of one peaceful voice.
    Practical Action Steps
    Pray daily for your nation and its leaders.
    Refuse to spread false news and divisive messages.
    Speak respectfully, even when you disagree.
    Forgive those who offend you.
    Promote unity across ethnic, political, and denominational lines.
    Teach your children the value of peace.
    Be known as someone who settles conflicts rather than creates them.
    Deep Spiritual Insight
    Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the presence of God's rule.
    Where Jesus reigns, peace follows.
    When believers become true ambassadors of Christ, they carry Heaven's atmosphere into homes, workplaces, schools, churches, and nations.
    The peace of a nation often begins with the transformed hearts of God's people.
    Questions for Reflection
    1. Am I contributing to peace or division?
    2. Are my words healing or hurting others?
    3. Do I pray consistently for my nation?
    4. Am I quick to forgive?
    5. Can God trust me to be His ambassador of peace?
    Prayer Points
    1. Father, fill my heart with Your perfect peace.
    2. Lord, make me an instrument of reconciliation everywhere I go.
    3. Every spirit of hatred, violence, and division operating in my nation, be destroyed in Jesus' name.
    4. Father, heal every wounded community and restore unity.
    5. Give wisdom to our leaders to govern with justice and compassion.
    6. Protect our security personnel and grant them courage and discernment.
    7. Deliver our nation from terrorism, kidnapping, corruption, and bloodshed.
    8. Let revival sweep across our land and turn hearts back to You.
    9. Raise believers who will boldly stand for truth, righteousness, and peace.
    10. Let Your peace reign in our homes, churches, communities, and nation, in Jesus' mighty name.
    Call to Action
    Beloved, our nation does not merely need louder opinions—it needs godly voices. Refuse to add fuel to the fire of hatred. Choose to speak life instead of death, unity instead of division, hope instead of despair, and peace instead of conflict.
    As followers of Christ, let us become peacemakers in our homes, churches, communities, and nation. May our words, prayers, and actions reflect the Prince of Peace, so that through us many will experience God's transforming love.
    "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." (Matthew 5:9)
    May the Lord make you a voice for peace in your generation, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
  • Keeping and Passing the Faith
    Written By Victor Bowen
    “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
    2 Timothy 2:2 (ESV)
    A campfire only lasts if someone keeps feeding it. Years ago, I watched the final night of a retreat end with church members quietly lighting candles from one central flame. One by one, the light spread across the room until every candle burned brightly. No one lost their flame by sharing it. The light only multiplied.
    That image returns to me whenever I read Paul’s words to Timothy.
    Paul was nearing the end of his life. He wasn’t building a platform or protecting his legacy. He was thinking generationally. The gospel had been entrusted to him, and now he was entrusting it to Timothy, who would one day entrust it to others. The mission of Jesus was never meant to stop with one person or one generation.
    We often think of spiritual legacy in dramatic terms — preaching to crowds, writing books, leading ministries. But Scripture shows us that legacy is usually formed through ordinary faithfulness. Moses walked with Joshua. Elijah mentored Elisha. Lois and Eunice quietly shaped Timothy’s faith at home. Their influence stretched far beyond what they could see in the moment.
    When I think about my own walk with Jesus, I realize how much of my faith was passed to me through simple acts of obedience from others. Someone prayed for me consistently. Someone opened Scripture with me. Someone modeled repentance instead of pretending to have it all together. Someone showed me what it looked like to depend on the Holy Spirit in everyday life.
    None of those people were famous. But their faithfulness still bears fruit.
    Sometimes we underestimate the impact of investing in one person. We may never know how God will multiply one conversation, one prayer, or one act of encouragement. The Kingdom often grows quietly, like seeds beneath the soil. But the Holy Spirit delights in using ordinary believers who are willing to pour into others.
    Discipleship is not about having all the answers. It is about walking closely with Jesus and inviting others to do the same. As we remain rooted in Scripture, dependent on prayer, and surrendered to the Spirit, God forms a legacy that outlives us.
    The question is not whether we have influence. We all do. The question is what we are passing on.
    *Jesus, thank you for the people who faithfully passed their faith on to me. Help me to walk closely with you and to invest intentionally in others. Fill me with your Spirit so that my life points people toward you. Teach me to think beyond myself and to live for the generations that follow. Amen. *
    Throughout this Day:
    Think about one person who has shaped your faith. Reach out and thank them. Then ask God to show you one person you can intentionally encourage or disciple this week.
