BIBLE STUDY — February 11 | Leviticus 10
INTRODUCTION
Leviticus chapter 10 is one of the most sobering passages in Scripture. Immediately after God reveals His glory through fire in Leviticus 9, this chapter shows that God is holy and must be approached on His terms, not ours. Nadab and Abihu’s actions teach that sincerity without obedience is not acceptable worship. This chapter helps beginners understand the seriousness of holiness, leadership responsibility, and reverent worship.
CONTEXT SUMMARY
Aaron and his sons have just been consecrated, and God has visibly accepted their ministry. In that sacred moment, two priests act outside God’s command. Their judgment establishes an eternal principle: God’s presence is glorious, but never casual. The chapter also sets priestly standards for discernment, sobriety, instruction, and responsibility in worship.
