God created us to live extraordinary lives without struggle - a life above the power of sin, a product of grace. Man failed by disobeying and could not live an upright life. The salvation Jesus wrought restored man to the life he was expected to live. As recipients of God’s grace, we are empowered to live in a new way. Have you received the power to live this new life, or are you still entangled by sexual immorality, lying, and deception? The grace of God is potent to train you to renounce impiety and worldly passions. ED.ii. LOT'S FATAL DECISIONS "Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah — from the Lord out of the heavens. Thus He overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land." - Genesis 19:24-25 Abraham was blessed by God and because his nephew Lot was with him, Lot was also blessed. Both had large flocks. At one point the shepherds of both flocks started to fight because there was not enough space. Abraham then let Lot choose to go either to the left or to the right. Lot saw that the Jordan area was good and made his first fatal choice. Lot chose the best for himself. It was his first step towards Sodom. It did not occur to him to consult the Lord first. So many Christians today do the same and make their own choices based on what they see, instead of asking for the Lord's guidance. Many follow the money. The evil one mainly whispers to young people: 'If you go for the money, you can achieve everything.' However, God's way is always the best way. Lot's second fatal decision is to pitch his tents nearby Sodom. 'Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord' (Genesis 13:13). Once you take one step in the wrong direction, it will not be long before you are completely on the wrong track. Lot's third fatal step is in Genesis 14:12, it says that 'he was living in Sodom.' So, it did not take long before Lot lived in the city of Sodom. God had to destroy Sodom because of the wickedness. It was because of Abraham's prayer for Lot and his family that God gave them an opportunity to flee the city. Dear reader, one day God will destroy this world as He did with Sodom and Gomorrah. Sermon Title: "FEED MY SHEEP, NOT YOUR AGENDA" Key Texts: Ezekiel 34:1-10, John 21:15-17, 1 Peter 5:2-4, Hebrews 12:14, 2 Timothy 4:3-4 INTRODUCTION The Lord is asking the same question today He asked Peter: “Do you love me? Feed my sheep.” John 21:17 But in this last age, many shepherds have left the sheep to chase the world. And many sheep have left holiness to chase prosperity. Both are losing the eternal gift. 1. WARNING TO SHEPHERDS: YOU LEFT THE HEART OF THE LORD Ezekiel 34:2-4 — “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep? The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed... and you have not sought the lost.” God’s heart for His people is: Feed them the Word, not opinions Heal the broken, not use them Seek the lost, not ignore them But some shepherds today have “given into the world and its things.” Jeremiah 23:1 — “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. Why? Because it’s not sanctified. Ministry without holiness becomes business. John 10:13 — The hireling sees the wolf and flees because he cares nothing for the sheep. God’s warning: Ezekiel 34:10 — “I am against the shepherds, and I will require my sheep at their hand.” 2. WARNING TO THE CHURCH: YOU LEFT HOLINESS FOR PROSPERITY The message says: “saved church not clinging to holiness bcos jealous, hatred, gossip and not obeying the word... itching ears for prosperity gospel instead of soul eager for sanctification gospel.” This is exactly what Paul warned: 2 Timothy 4:3-4 — “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” Holiness is being traded for hype. Hebrews 12:14 — “Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” Signs of a church that left holiness: Jealousy and hatred - Galatians 5:19-21 works of the flesh Gossip - Proverbs 16:28 separates close friends Disobedience to the Word - James 1:22 “be doers of the word” Prosperity over the Cross - 1 Peter 2:2 “long for the pure spiritual milk” When we chase blessings more than the Blesser, we lose the eternal gift: sanctification and seeing God. 3. GOD’S CALL BACK: RETURN TO THE SHEPHERD 1 Peter 5:2-4 — “Shepherd the flock of God that is among you... And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.” To Shepherds: Repent. Return to feeding, not fleecing. Acts 20:28 — “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock.” To the Church: 1 Peter 1:15-16 — “As he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.” Holiness is not legalism. It is love. It is being set apart for God. Psalm 51:10 — “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” CLOSING PRAYER Father, forgive us. Forgive shepherds who fed themselves and left Your sheep. Put back in us the heart of the Lord for Your people. Forgive Your church for chasing prosperity and ignoring sanctification. Create in us clean hearts. Let us hunger for Your Word, not myths. Let us love holiness, not gossip and jealousy. Make us a people ready for Jesus. In His Name, Amen. This is Ezekiel 34:2-4 season. Here is DAILY BREAD FOR THE LAST DAYS : TODAY'S WORD Text: Jeremiah 23:1-2 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! declares the Lord... You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them.” Also: 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions...” MESSAGE: SHEPHERDS, RETURN TO THE HEART OF GOD The Lord is crying over His sheep in these last days. 1. THE WARNING TO SHEPHERDS God says “Woe” to shepherds who feed themselves instead of the flock. When a shepherd chases the world and its things - money, fame, titles - he leaves the sheep hungry. When he preaches prosperity gospel but not holiness gospel, he trades eternal gifts for temporary bread. John 10:12 “The hireling... sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees.” A flock that is not sanctified is a flock that will be lost. Because “without holiness no one will see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14 2. THE WARNING TO THE CHURCH Saved church, wake up! Jealousy, hatred, gossip, disobedience to the Word... this is not the garment of Christ Colossians 3:8-10. When we cling to itching ears and reject sound doctrine, we become easy prey. God’s will is not just prosperity in the pocket. It is sanctification of the soul 1 Thessalonians 4:3. Jesus did not die to make us rich. He died to make us HOLY. 3. STRENGTHENING & ENCOURAGEMENT But there is hope. 1 Peter 5:4 “And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.” To every faithful shepherd: Keep feeding the Word. Keep calling to repentance. To every sheep: Return to the Word. Love holiness more than miracles. Love Jesus more than blessings. PRAYER: Father, raise up shepherds after Your own heart Jeremiah 3:15. Purify the pulpit. Purify the pew. Let us not trade eternity for earth. Sanctify us by Your truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen. ACTION TODAY: For Shepherds/Teachers: Check your message. Is it pointing people to Jesus and holiness, or just to prosperity? For All: Forgive anyone you have bitterness toward today. Protection from Harm and Evil I pray for Your divine hedge of protection around them Lord—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Guard them from accident, illness, temptation, and the schemes of the enemy. For you said in your Word: "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore." (Psalm 121:7–8) 4. Godly and Wise Friendships Surround them with friends who encourage them, sharpen them, and walk in righteousness Lord. Protect them from unhealthy influences, and give them the courage to be a light to those around them. Again, you said in your Word Lord: "He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed." (Proverbs 13:20) 5. Purity and Integrity Father God, Keep their hearts, minds, and bodies pure. Give them the strength to stand against peer pressure and societal expectations, choosing integrity even when no one is watching. Your Word states: "How can a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed according to Your word." (Psalm 119:9) 6. Emotional Health and Peace of Mind Guard their minds against anxiety, fear, depression, and confusion. Lord, Fill them with the peace that surpasses understanding, and let them rest securely in their identity in Christ. I stand on your Word: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6–7) 7. Purpose and Calling Unveil Your purpose for their lives. Show them the unique spiritual gifts, talents, and passions You have placed inside them, and give them the desire to use those gifts to serve You and others. I believe what you say in your Word: "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10) 8. Respect and Obedience toward Authority Father, I ask you to Teach them by your Holy Spirit to honor their parents, teachers, leaders, and mentors. Give them a teachable spirit that receives instruction, discipline, and counsel with grace and humility. Your Word plainly states: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with promise." (Ephesians 6:1–2) 9. A Spirit of Kindness and Compassion And Lord God, Fill their hearts with genuine love for others. Give them eyes to see those who are hurting or lonely, and grant them a generous, compassionate spirit that reflects Your mercy. Again I believe what your Word says: "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32) 10. Resilience and Perseverance When trials, failures, or disappointments come, Father give them the grit and faith to bounce back. Help them understand that challenges refine their character and strengthen their hope. I stand on what is written in your Word: "We also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope." (Romans 5:3–4) 11. Courage and Boldness Make them strong and courageous in a world that often opposes Your truth. Give them the boldness to share their faith and stand up for what is right, without fear or shame. Lord God, As you Word states: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9) 12. Self-Discipline and Diligence Father, I am trusting you to Instill in them a strong work ethic, whether in their schooling, chores, or responsibilities. Help them steward their time, resources, and bodies with discipline and self-control. Again, I stand on your Word: "Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men." (Colossians 3:23) 13. A Heart of Gratitude and Joy Lord, I pray that you Keep their hearts free from discontentment, envy, and entitlement. Plant a deep sense of joy in their souls and a habit of giving thanks to You in all circumstances. As your Word states: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18) 14. Divine Guidance for Their Future And Lord, I pray for their future—their education, careers, relationships, and ultimate life choices. Lead them step-by-step along the path You have ordained for them, keeping them from wrong turns. I stand on what your Word says: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5–6) 15. Godly Future Spouses and Households Looking ahead to the years to come, Father God I ask that You prepare the hearts of their future spouses, if it be Your will. May they build families rooted in Christ, passing down a legacy of faith for generations to come. Again I agree with what your say in your Word Lord: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15) And in closing Father, I place these children securely in Your hands.(Name them). Work in them and through them, and grant me the grace, wisdom, and patience to love, guide, and support them as well in your sight. I trust and ask your Holy Spirit to guide me in this great and all important endeavor and I thank you and praise you for these precious young lives you have blessed me with and I give them over to your watchful eyes, love and care this day. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. MESSAGE: To understand what a covenant is, it is helpful first to understand what a contract is, as it is a more familiar concept. A contract is a written and signed agreement between two or more parties which outlines the expectations and responsibilities of all the parties involved in an interaction. The moment a contract is signed, all parties involved are bound by it, and typically, the contract will outline the consequences of what will happen if any party breaches the agreement. Such consequences may include penalties, damages, and other similar outcomes. A covenant is also a contract, but one that is signed with body fluids, mostly blood. This means that when body fluids, especially blood, are involved in a contract, a covenant has been established. For example, in Genesis 17:1-14, God entered into a covenant with Abraham, and to sign that covenant, every male that was born into Abraham's household was to be circumcised, beginning with Abraham himself, even though he was almost 100 years old at the time. A covenant is no joking matter, primarily because the penalty for breaking it is usually death. This is why today's teaching is very important. When a man and a woman come together to exchange body fluids, particularly through sex, they are entering into a covenant. They may not know it, but they have become bonded with each other. This is why it is important for a husband and a wife to only have sexual relationships with each other, because the devil usually takes advantage of extramarital sexual intercourse to pass on demons between those who indulge in it. Many years ago, a boy was barking like a dog and was brought to me for deliverance. When I investigated the matter, I discovered that he had been sleeping with a dog in his house. In other words, he had entered into a covenant with that dog, and the devil had obviously attacked him through that. In the same vein, when a fellow sleeps with someone who is not his or her spouse, certain things will be passed from that fellow to them, and you can be sure that they are not good things because the act that was committed was contrary to God's will. Beloved, do not neglect the Almighty God's instructions about keeping yourself sexually pure. Do not allow the devil access into your life by engaging in illicit sexual acts. I pray that the Lord will continually empower you to overcome all forms of sexual temptation, in Jesus' name. KEY POINT: Illicit sexual relations establish covenants that the devil can exploit. Thank You for breaking me free from the covenant of death into the covenant of life sealed by the blood of Jesus. 3.Father, thank You for the blood of Jesus that speaks better things than the blood of animals. Thank You for the atonement of the blood of Jesus for my cleansing and healings, in Jesus' name. 4.Father, now that I'm joined in the new covenant by the blood of Jesus, please help me to be faithful in keeping my own part of the covenant, to keep myself holy in all manner, in Jesus' name. 5.Father, please help all Christian couples to be faithful to each other and their marital vows, in keeping themselves sexually pure, in Jesus' name. 6.Father, please save the homes of all Your children from sexual immorality and deliver any couple that are under the control of demons, in Jesus' name. 7.Father, please deliver all our youths from sexual immorality and perversion. A husband came home from work one day and the house was an absolute mess. Clothes were strewn all over the floor, washing up filled the sink, the kids were crying, the beds were unmade, the bathroom smelled badly and the TV set was blaring. When he asked his wife what was going on, she replied, ‘You know how you ask me every night what I did all day? Well, today I didn’t do it.’ If you’re a stay-at-home mum or dad, God considers your work to be important. It’s more important to the future than just about any other profession—because you’re determining the quality of the next generation. Martin Luther said, ‘What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord.’ One day God will say, ‘Well done,’ to parents who cared for children—bathing them, feeding them, cleaning up after them—when they were tired and thought nobody was looking. Somebody is looking. Somebody is keeping track. It is worth it! You are the one who makes your work significant—not the other way round. When you discover the gifts God has given you and the passions He has placed within you, and put them to work in the service of values you deeply believe in—you are ‘working for God’ in the truest sense. So each day ask God to make your work go well. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me *Timeless Truth:*_"But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city"_ (Hebrews 11:16). *INTRODUCTION* Jim Reeves, in one of his classics, composed an all time beautiful and inspired song about heaven. "I have heard of a land; On a faraway strand 'Tis a beautiful home of the soul; Built by Jesus on high There we never shall die 'Tis the land where we never grow old. When our work here is done; And the life crown is won; And our troubles and trials are o'er; All our sorrow will end And our voices will blend With the loved ones who've gone on before". The children of Israel ate manna in the wilderness and not one of them fell sick for 40 years and neither did their cloth fade according to the Scriptures. The food of heaven and the environment of heaven will be such that the inhabitants will never grow old, but remain young, healthy and fresh throughout eternity. Every attempt by any mortal to describe heaven is like a blind man describing the colour of a beautiful house. It is easier to think and plan for what you see than what you don't see no matter how real. Hence, there is need for constant reminder, refocusing and reconsecration to make heaven, less our vision of the invisible and eternal things give way to the vision of visible temporary things. *"For truly, if they (the heroes of faith) had been mindful of that country (the world) from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned"* (Hebrews 11:15). *1. The Admonition on Faith* a. Man is consciously or unconsciously a slave to what he believes whether true or false. The person who does good or evil believes that it will pay him. The person who serves God or does otherwise believes that is the best thing to do, all things being equal. The only person who could experientially and authoritatively speak about heaven is the person who lived there for an innumerable number of years and had visited the earth. Jesus Christ challenged the faith of His disciples to fully and truly believe, not only in the reality of heaven, but what heaven offers. The thought of Jesus Christ leaving them for heaven was disturbing and troublesome. However, the thought of heaven is comforting above all troubles on earth. *"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me"*. b. Jesus Christ said He came from heaven. Moses claimed He saw God come from heaven on the mount of Sinai. At the mount of transfiguration, three apostles said they saw the glory of heaven on Jesus, Elijah and Moses. John the Apostle emphatically said *"I John saw heaven open"*. Revelation also said that as God alone created the universe without any assistance from the angels, God Himself created heaven. *"Whose Builder and the Maker is God"*. When there is faith in God and consequently in heaven, all earthly glory and sorrows fade into insignificance. *Question* Is heaven and its glory real to you? Are you focused on making it by all means? *2. The Assurance for the Faithful* There is a Revelation about heaven that no other prophet could give except an eye witness. There is an abundance of accommodation for all the saints of God. *"In my Father's house are many mansions"*. Jesus invoked His undeniable truthfulness and integrity to give us a solid assurance. *"If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you"*. Jesus is saying that there is no need to deceive His disciples. Part of the present preoccupation of Christ is building a beautiful and eternally durable unimproveable mansion for each of God's people. The cosmos is roughly 7 x10 to power 23 times larger than our planet, rendering Earth an invisible speck in the vast cosmic ocean. This is different from the part of the cosmos that humans' lenses cannot observe so far. John said *"there was no more seas"*. So the space for building mansions is inexhaustible by all the saints that ever lived. b. Every saint should therefore, be assured that there is an unfading and most beautiful accommodation ever, designed and built by God awaiting him for eternal dwelling. Which one is more real to you? Dream or what you see in the physical. As what you see on earth is more real than what is dreamt, much more, the life of heaven is incomparably more real than what is experienced on the planet earth. Everything in heaven is perfect that no man on earth and creature in heaven would be able to improve on it. *Question* Are you excited about heaven? *3. The Advent of the Forerunner* a. Jesus came from heaven and He is the firstborn from among the dead. He is the first to die, buried, resurrected and gone to heaven with a resurrected body. He also promised to come back to the earth with His resurrected glorified body. *"And if I go and prepare a place for you"*. Did He truly go as promised? Since He fulfilled the promise to go to heaven He will no doubt fulfill other promises attached. *"I will come again"*. He did not say He "may come again". He was very definite and certain. When He comes again for the Church, represented by the disciples He was speaking to, what will He do? *"And receive you unto myself"*. He did not say he would come and take them, but rather come and receive them. This is Rapture being referred to in which Jesus in the sky will receive the saints to heaven as a host comes out of his chamber to receive His special guest or visitors to his house. (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17). *"That where I am, there ye may be also"*. *Question* Are you always watchful to make sure you are ever ready? *4. The Answer to the Forgetful* You will be surprised at the kind of question the once doubting Thomas was asking. *"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?"*. He was there when Nicodemus was lectured by Christ on how to get to heaven. He was there when Jesus preached the longest sermon on the Mount as to the qualification for heaven. He was there when Jesus said *"No man has seen God at all times"*. Preachers should not assume that their followers fully understand the spiritual things they are teaching. Spiritual truth must be repeatedly read and taught over and over until it turns to conviction. Jesus is the only true way to heaven. *Question* What makes someone qualified for heaven? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, I praise You for the best alternative to this earth You have provided for me. He speaks words of comfort to His troubled disciples. He tells them not to be afraid because His Father's house is big enough to accommodate all those who are qualified, and that He is going to prepare the place for them. More than that, He promises to return and bring them to be with Him forever. When Thomas questions the way to this place, Jesus makes a life-changing declaration: "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).* *Heaven is not an accidental destination. It is a prepared place for prepared people. Jesus makes it clear that He is the only Way to this eternal home. Today, many believe that all roads lead to heaven, but Christ's words leave no room for confusion. Only those who accept Him and live for Him will enter the place He has prepared.* *This truth should give us confidence and peace as believers in Christ's return. Just as a traveller finds joy knowing a home awaits at the end of his journey, we too should endure life's trials knowing that heaven is real and waiting for us. However, this is also a call for readiness, as only those who are prepared in Christ will enter there. Heaven is not for the undecided or the uncommitted; it is for those who know and follow Christ. He urged Timothy to cleanse himself from what is dishonourable so that he may become a vessel fit for a noble purpose. This illustrates the call for believers to separate themselves from sin, false teachings, and unworthy associations, so that they may live in purity and be useful instruments in God's hands. Living in purity involves fleeing youthful passions and actively pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace. You must also avoid watching sensual musical videos, obscene movies, music with erotic lyrics, and lust. This requires self-control, which is necessary for anyone who intends to live a life of purity. How is your lifestyle? ED.ii. THE DIABOLIC TRINITY IN THE END TIMES "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8 There are three major end time main players who form a diabolical trio. The reason we talk about this is because we all need to know what is to come. Just as God is a Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, there is also a diabolical trinity, namely: the evil one, the antichrist and the false prophet. The Lord God did not leave us in ignorance about what is to happen. These three have different personalities. The evil one There are people who do not believe that the evil one - the first person of this trinity - exists. However, as God exists, there is also an opponent who is now more than ever out to destroy humanity. He is looking for a prey to destroy (see 1 Peter 5:8). The antichrist The second person of the diabolical trinity in this end time is the antichrist. We read about this in Revelation 13:1-8. In the Bible he is called the beast. The antichrist will rise during the last big empire - the restored Roman Empire - from the image of Daniel (see Daniel 2). When the feet of that image become visible, the power will be given to this leader. He will emerge as a diabolical dictator. He will not allow God to be worshiped and will place himself in the temple in Jerusalem. The false prophet In the time of the antichrist, the false prophet will also appear. We read about him in Revelation 13:11-14. He will seduce people by performing miracles and signs. During this time the false prophet will persuade people to believe in the antichrist. When these three appears on stage, a terrible time will come. But Jesus Christ will also return on the clouds to end this period. The Kitchen Newsletter Good day, Welcome to The Kitchen, where we explore, prepare and serve the contents in the Body of the Word as the delicacies of God—to create the form of the Father on the earth, to make the earth in His likeness, and to take charge of the economic destinies of nations for God. Relax, and let's journey through the scriptures to see the Body of the Word. There is a dimension of Scripture that invites us to look beyond words on a page and to contemplate the Person whom the Scriptures reveal. This is where our journey into the Body of the Word begins. The Apostle John, on the island of Patmos, received a revelation of Jesus Christ. He did not merely hear a voice; he saw the One who spoke. “I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me…” — Revelation 1:12 What John saw was remarkable: someone “like a Son of Man,” standing among the golden lampstands. He saw His robe, His golden sash, His head and hair, His eyes, His feet, His voice, His right hand, His mouth and His face. His eyes were “like blazing fire.” His feet were “like bronze glowing in a furnace.” His voice was “like the sound of rushing waters.” His face was “like the sun shining in all its brilliance.” — Revelation 1:12–17 This gives us an extraordinary picture. The Word of God is a living Person. The Word has an appearance. The Word has a body. The Word can be seen. Ezekiel likewise describes the figure seated upon the throne as having “the appearance of a man” (Ezekiel 1:26). And Hebrews gives us the understanding what this means: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” — Hebrews 1:3 Therefore, when Scripture gives us detailed descriptions of the Body of the Word, those descriptions are not insignificant details. They direct our attention toward the Person of the Word of God and, through Him, toward the revelation of the invisible God. Paul says that God gives us: “the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 4:6 The face of Christ becomes a window through which the glory of the invisible God is made known. The Scriptures Must Be Unfolded Jesus said something very important: “These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.” — John 5:39 The Scriptures are therefore not merely information about religious history. They testify about a Person. And when those Scriptures are unfolded, they produce light: “The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” — Psalm 119:130 This means that revelation is not simply the accumulation of more biblical information. It is the unfolding of what has been written until the Person being revealed becomes clearer. Consider one example. John saw the eyes of the Word and described them as “like blazing fire” (Revelation 1:14). Ezekiel also describes the appearance of the One seated on the throne in terms of fire (Ezekiel 1:27). Then Scripture tells us: “Our God is a consuming fire.” — Hebrews 12:29 Fire therefore becomes a language through which Scripture helps us contemplate something about God. And this is where the revelation becomes provocative. What does the fire tell us? Isaiah speaks of the Lord with the language of consuming fire: “His tongue is a consuming fire.” — Isaiah 30:27 The picture is one of intensity, passion and consuming desire. The revelation of the Body of the Word, therefore, begins to open our understanding of the desire, appetite, passion and zeal of God. God is not presented in Scripture as an impersonal force without desire. He has zeal. He has longings. He has purposes. He has pleasure. He has passions. And the revelation of the Body of the Word gives us a framework through which these dimensions of God's Person can be contemplated. The Body of the Word and the Hunger of the Father Here the language becomes particularly striking. If the Body of the Word is revealed as blazing fire, and fire communicates the intensity of divine desire, then the Body of the Word can be contemplated as the aggressive hunger of the Father—the consuming desire of God centred upon the Body of the Word. This takes us into the language of food. God commanded concerning the bread of the Presence: “Put the bread of the Presence on this table before me at all times.” — Exodus 25:30 Jesus then declares: “I am the bread of life.” — John 6:35 And again: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” — John 6:51 The language of bread, food, table and nourishment therefore becomes part of the biblical vocabulary through which we contemplate the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word becomes the food before the Father. The Body of the Word becomes the table of divine appetite. The Body of the Word becomes the place where the hunger of the Father is revealed. Song of Songs gives us another striking image: “Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies.” — Song of Songs 7:2 The imagery is agricultural, nutritional and bodily. It invites us to see Scripture not merely as abstract theology but as a language filled with pictures—bread, wine, wheat, fire, garments, eyes, faces, tables and bodies. These images become avenues through which the Person of the Word is unfolded. The Zeal of God Isaiah says: “He put on righteousness as his breastplate… he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.” — Isaiah 59:17 Notice the language. Zeal is a garment. God is described as wearing zeal. And if the garments of God can be read alongside the revelation of the Body of the Word, then the garment becomes another doorway into understanding the Person of the Word and the emotions expressed through Him. This brings us to a profound question: What does God feel? What is His longing? What gives Him pleasure? What provokes His zeal? What brings Him joy? What grieves Him? What does He desire to see in humanity? What does He search for? The revelation of the Body of the Word opens these questions. The Emotions of God The emotions of God are not presented here as human emotions projected onto God. Rather, Scripture itself gives us language for speaking about God's zeal, compassion, pleasure, anger, grief, longing and delight. The Body of the Word becomes a rich portal for exploring these dimensions of God's Person. The detailed descriptions become like containers of revelation. John sees eyes like blazing fire. He sees a face shining like the sun. He hears a voice like rushing waters. He sees feet like glowing bronze. He sees a mouth from which comes a sharp double-edged sword. These are not random images. They are biblical descriptions through which the Word of God is unveiled. And as the Scriptures are unfolded, they give light. That light enables us to see more deeply into the Person of the Father revealed in the Son. The Holy Spirit Searches the Deep Things This is where the ministry of the Holy Spirit becomes essential. Jesus said: “When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth… He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.” — John 16:13–15 The Holy Spirit does not lead us away from the Person of the Word of God. He reveals The Word of God. He takes what belongs to Christ and makes it known. Paul adds: “The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” — 1 Corinthians 2:10 There are depths in God that cannot be reached merely by intellectual observation. The Spirit searches. The Spirit unfolds. The Spirit illuminates. The Spirit makes known. And the Body of the Word becomes one of the great territories through which these depths are explored. The Body of the Word as the Lamp of God Return again to the eyes. “His eyes were like blazing fire.” — Revelation 1:14 Jesus said: “The eye is the lamp of the body.” — Matthew 6:22 The imagery of the eye and lamp therefore gives us another dimension of the revelation. The Body of the Word, represented by blazing eyes, becomes associated with illumination and searching. God sees. God examines. God searches. Psalm 11:5 says: “The Lord examines the righteous.” Psalm 14:2 says: “The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.” This is a remarkable thought. What is the divine search looking for? Understanding. God is looking for people who understand. And within the revelation we are exploring, He is looking for the understanding of the Body of the Word—the knowledge of Christ that enables us to see the Father more deeply. The lamp is searching. The eyes are blazing. The Scriptures are being unfolded. The Spirit is searching the deep things. And light is being produced. Perhaps, then, the question is not simply: “Do I read the Bible?” The deeper question is: “What do I see when the Scriptures are unfolded?” Do I merely see words? Or do I encounter the Person to whom the words testify? Do I merely collect information? Or am I receiving revelation? Do I merely study Scripture? Or is the Scripture unveiling the Person of the Word and, through Him, the glory of the invisible Father? This is the invitation of the Body of the Word. To look again. To search deeper. To unfold the Scriptures. To see Christ. To know the Father. Father, thank You for the revelation of Yourself to us through Jesus Christ. Give us eyes to see, hearts to understand and minds capable of receiving the light that comes from the unfolding of Your Word. The Kitchen Newsletter Good day, Welcome to The Kitchen, where we explore, prepare and serve the contents in the Body of the Word as the delicacies of God—to create the form of the Father on the earth, to make the earth in His likeness, and to take charge of the economic destinies of nations for God. Relax, and let's journey through the scriptures to see the Body of the Word. There is a dimension of Scripture that invites us to look beyond words on a page and to contemplate the Person whom the Scriptures reveal. This is where our journey into the Body of the Word begins. The Apostle John, on the island of Patmos, received a revelation of Jesus Christ. He did not merely hear a voice; he saw the One who spoke. “I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me…” — Revelation 1:12 What John saw was remarkable: someone “like a Son of Man,” standing among the golden lampstands. He saw His robe, His golden sash, His head and hair, His eyes, His feet, His voice, His right hand, His mouth and His face. His eyes were “like blazing fire.” His feet were “like bronze glowing in a furnace.” His voice was “like the sound of rushing waters.” His face was “like the sun shining in all its brilliance.” — Revelation 1:12–17 This gives us an extraordinary picture. The Word of God is a living Person. The Word has an appearance. The Word has a body. The Word can be seen. Ezekiel likewise describes the figure seated upon the throne as having “the appearance of a man” (Ezekiel 1:26). And Hebrews gives us the understanding what this means: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” — Hebrews 1:3 Therefore, when Scripture gives us detailed descriptions of the Body of the Word, those descriptions are not insignificant details. They direct our attention toward the Person of the Word of God and, through Him, toward the revelation of the invisible God. Paul says that God gives us: “the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 4:6 The face of Christ becomes a window through which the glory of the invisible God is made known. The Scriptures Must Be Unfolded Jesus said something very important: “These are the very Scriptures that testify about me.” — John 5:39 The Scriptures are therefore not merely information about religious history. They testify about a Person. And when those Scriptures are unfolded, they produce light: “The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” — Psalm 119:130 This means that revelation is not simply the accumulation of more biblical information. It is the unfolding of what has been written until the Person being revealed becomes clearer. Consider one example. John saw the eyes of the Word and described them as “like blazing fire” (Revelation 1:14). Ezekiel also describes the appearance of the One seated on the throne in terms of fire (Ezekiel 1:27). Then Scripture tells us: “Our God is a consuming fire.” — Hebrews 12:29 Fire therefore becomes a language through which Scripture helps us contemplate something about God. And this is where the revelation becomes provocative. What does the fire tell us? Isaiah speaks of the Lord with the language of consuming fire: “His tongue is a consuming fire.” — Isaiah 30:27 The picture is one of intensity, passion and consuming desire. The revelation of the Body of the Word, therefore, begins to open our understanding of the desire, appetite, passion and zeal of God. God is not presented in Scripture as an impersonal force without desire. He has zeal. He has longings. He has purposes. He has pleasure. He has passions. And the revelation of the Body of the Word gives us a framework through which these dimensions of God's Person can be contemplated. The Body of the Word and the Hunger of the Father Here the language becomes particularly striking. If the Body of the Word is revealed as blazing fire, and fire communicates the intensity of divine desire, then the Body of the Word can be contemplated as the aggressive hunger of the Father—the consuming desire of God centred upon the Body of the Word. This takes us into the language of food. God commanded concerning the bread of the Presence: “Put the bread of the Presence on this table before me at all times.” — Exodus 25:30 Jesus then declares: “I am the bread of life.” — John 6:35 And again: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” — John 6:51 The language of bread, food, table and nourishment therefore becomes part of the biblical vocabulary through which we contemplate the Body of the Word. The Body of the Word becomes the food before the Father. The Body of the Word becomes the table of divine appetite. The Body of the Word becomes the place where the hunger of the Father is revealed. Song of Songs gives us another striking image: “Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies.” — Song of Songs 7:2 The imagery is agricultural, nutritional and bodily. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TITLE: WARS AND CONFLICTS – PEACE AND PRAYER. We live in a generation filled with wars, conflicts, violence, terrorism, family disputes, political unrest, tribal hatred, and spiritual battles. Nations are fighting nations. Communities are divided. Homes that should be places of peace have become battlefields. Many people are asking, "Where is peace?" The answer is not found merely in stronger weapons or better negotiations. Lasting peace begins with God. While the world prepares for war, God's people must prepare for prayer. The Church is called to be a light in darkness, an ambassador of peace, and a house of prayer for all nations. > "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." — Matthew 5:9 Key Bible Verses 1. 2 Chronicles 7:14 > "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray... then will I hear from heaven... and will heal their land. God's prescription for healing a troubled nation begins with humble prayer. National transformation starts with spiritual transformation. 2. Philippians 4:6–7 Paul teaches believers not to be consumed by fear and anxiety but to bring every concern before God in prayer. The result is God's peace, which guards both heart and mind. 3. James 4:1–2 James reveals that many conflicts begin with selfish desires, pride, envy, and uncontrolled passions. External wars often reflect internal battles. 4. Psalm 122:6 > "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem..." God commands His people to pray for cities, nations, leaders, and communities. Point 1: Every War Has a Spiritual Dimension Not every conflict begins on the battlefield. Many begin in the human heart. Satan delights in division because a divided people become weak. Whether in marriages, churches, communities, or nations, the enemy seeks to sow confusion. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 that our ultimate struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil. Lesson: Fight spiritual battles with spiritual weapons. Point 2: Prayer Is More Powerful Than Panic Fear never solves problems. Prayer invites God's intervention where human strength reaches its limit. When believers pray: Heaven responds. Hearts change. Wisdom is released. Peace replaces fear. God makes a way where there seems to be none. Instead of spreading fear, Christians should spread faith. Point 3: God Calls Believers to Be Peacemakers Peace is not weakness. Peacemakers bring reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing. Jesus did not merely preach peace; He became our Peace. Christians should avoid: Gossip Bitterness Revenge Tribal hatred Religious intolerance Unforgiveness Instead, we should promote love, truth, justice, and forgiveness. Point 4: Revival Begins When God's People Pray Throughout Scripture, national revival followed sincere prayer. When the Church returns to prayer: Families are restored. Communities change. Leaders receive wisdom. Crime decreases. Hope returns. Prayer may not immediately stop every war, but it changes people, and changed people change nations. Biblical Case Study: King Jehoshaphat Text: 2 Chronicles 20 Three powerful armies came against Judah. Humanly speaking, defeat was certain. Instead of relying solely on military strength, King Jehoshaphat proclaimed a national fast and called everyone to seek God. As the people worshipped and prayed, God fought for them. Their enemies turned against one another, and Judah won the battle without fighting in the usual way. Lesson: Some victories come not by human strength but through prayer, faith, and obedience. Practical Action Steps 1. Make daily prayer a priority. 2. Pray regularly for your family, community, and nation. 3. Refuse to spread hatred, rumours, or division. 4. Forgive those who offend you. 5. Become an ambassador of Christ's peace wherever you go. 6. Support efforts that promote justice, reconciliation, and unity. Deep Spiritual Insights Peace is first a condition of the heart before it becomes the condition of a nation. Prayer does not eliminate every battle, but it brings God's presence into every battle. God's greatest victories often begin on praying knees. A believer who prays consistently becomes a channel of God's peace in a troubled world. Questions for Reflection 1. Am I promoting peace or contributing to conflict? 2. How often do I pray for my nation and its leaders? 3. Is there anyone I need to forgive today? 4. When problems arise, do I panic first or pray first? 5. What practical step can I take this week to become a peacemaker? Powerful Prayer Points 1. Father, let Your peace rule in my heart through Christ Jesus. 2. Lord, heal every family, church, and community divided by conflict. 3. Father, frustrate every plan of violence, terrorism, and bloodshed in our nation. 4. Grant wisdom, integrity, and justice to our leaders. 5. Raise believers who will stand in the gap through faithful prayer. 6. Destroy every spirit of hatred, bitterness, and revenge. 7. Let revival begin in Your Church and spread across our land. 8. Lord Jesus, make me an instrument of Your peace everywhere I go. Call to Action The world does not need more hatred—it needs more people who know how to pray. It does not need more voices fueling division—it needs disciples who reflect the peace of Christ. Today, choose to become a peacemaker. Commit yourself to a life of prayer. Stand in the gap for your family, your church, and your nation. As you do, trust that God is able to calm every storm, heal broken hearts, and establish His peace where conflict once reigned.
