“Lord, We Thank You for Everything!”

Scripture...
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” — Psalm 107:1 (KJV)

Heavenly Father,
On this Thankful Thursday morning, before we ask You for anything, we want to thank You for everything.
Thank You for waking us up this morning. Thank You for watching over us through the night. Thank You for the breath in our bodies, the activity of our limbs, and the soundness of our minds. Thank You that when our eyes opened this morning, we were given another opportunity to experience Your grace, walk in Your purpose, and declare Your goodness.
Your Word says:
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
So today, Lord, we choose to rejoice. We may not have everything we want, but we thank You because You have been faithful to provide what we need.
Thank You for What We Saw—and What We Never Saw
Father, we thank You not only for the blessings we recognize, but also for the things You protected us from that we never knew were coming.
Thank You for dangers seen and unseen.
Thank You for doors You closed because something harmful was on the other side.
Thank You for delays that frustrated us but protected us.
Thank You for people You removed because they could not go where You were taking us.
Thank You for the accidents that did not happen, the sickness that did not overtake us, the plans of the enemy that did not prosper, and the traps that never caught us.
Your Word declares:
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” — Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
The weapon may have formed, but it did not win!
The storm came, but it did not destroy us!
The enemy attacked, but he could not cancel Your purpose!
We are still here because Your hand has been upon us.
Thank You for Your Mercy
Father, thank You for mercy.
Thank You that You did not give us what our mistakes deserved.
Thank You for forgiving us when we confessed our sins. Thank You for cleansing us, restoring us, correcting us, and giving us another opportunity to get it right.
Your Word says:
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)
New mercy this morning!
Not yesterday's mercy.
Not leftover mercy.
But fresh mercy for a brand-new day.
Lord, forgive us for every sin—those committed knowingly and unknowingly, in our words, thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Create in us clean hearts and renew right spirits within us.
Thank You for Jesus
Most of all, Father, thank You for Jesus!
Thank You for the cross.
Thank You for the blood.
Thank You for salvation.
Thank You for redemption.
Thank You that the grave could not hold Him.
Thank You that Jesus got up with all power in His hands!
Your Word declares:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” — John 3:16 (KJV)
Jesus, thank You for loving us when we were unlovable. Thank You for reaching for us when we were running from You. Thank You for being our Savior, Lord, Advocate, Shepherd, Deliverer, and Friend.
Thank You Even in Difficult Seasons
Father, teach us to thank You even when life does not make sense.
Your Word says:
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)
It does not say that everything that happens is good. It tells us that in everything, we can still give thanks.
So even in the valley, we thank You.
Even while waiting, we thank You.
Even when our prayers have not yet been answered, we thank You.
Even when we cannot trace Your hand, help us to trust Your heart.
We believe:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” — Romans 8:28 (KJV)
Father, take what was meant to break us and use it to build us. Take our tears and produce testimony. Take our trials and develop endurance. Take our disappointments and redirect us toward Your purpose.
Lord, Touch Those Who Need Healing
This morning we lift up everyone who is sick in body, troubled in mind, emotionally wounded, exhausted, grieving, or discouraged.
You declared:
“For I am the LORD that healeth thee.” — Exodus 15:26 (KJV)
Lord, stretch forth Your healing hand.
Touch those dealing with cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, lupus, dementia, Alzheimer's, chronic pain, and every disease and condition.
Strengthen weakened bodies. Restore energy. Give doctors wisdom. Guide surgeons' hands. Let medications work as intended. Bring peace to caregivers and families.
We pray for those fighting battles in their minds—anxiety, fear, depression, loneliness, grief, confusion, and despair. Let the peace of God guard their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Lord, Provide for Every Need
Father, remember those looking for employment. Open the right doors.
Remember those who need promotions and increases.
Remember families struggling financially.
Remember those facing bills they do not know how they will pay.
Remember those worried about food, housing, transportation, or other necessities.
Your Word promises:
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
Father, make a way where there appears to no way.
Give wisdom concerning finances. Provide resources. Create opportunities. Send favor. Connect people with the right opportunities at the right time.
Bless Our Families
Lord, cover our families.
Protect our marriages. Strengthen husbands and wives. Draw parents and children closer together. Heal broken relationships. Restore communication. Bring forgiveness where there has been hurt.
Protect our children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, grandparents, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended families.
Let Joshua's declaration become the declaration of our homes:
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
Save those who do not know Jesus. Draw back those who have wandered away. Let our homes become places of prayer, peace, love, forgiveness, worship, and the presence of God.
Order Our Steps Today
Father, as we go into this Thursday, order our steps.
Your Word says:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” — Psalm 37:23 (KJV)
Guide our conversations.
Guide our decisions.
Guide us on the highways.
Guide us at work.
Guide us in our homes.
Guard our mouths so that our words bring life and not destruction.
Give us discernment so that we recognize what comes from You and what does not.
When temptation comes, give us strength to say no.
When opportunity comes, give us wisdom to know whether to say yes.
When trouble comes, remind us that You are already there.
We Thank You in Advance
Father, before we see the answer, we thank You.
Before the door opens, we thank You.
Before the healing manifests, we thank You.
Before the breakthrough comes, we thank You.
Before the financial situation changes, we thank You.
Before our loved ones come to Christ, we thank You.
Because our thanksgiving is not based only on what You do—it is based on who You are.

Today we declare:

What Should a Believer Truly Dread?

Bible Text: Matthew 10:28 (KJV)

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

There is a reality that every believer must eventually come to understand concerning the journey of faith here on earth and at the end of the journey appointed by God.

It is not death alone that we should dread, but spiritual death, physical death, and eternal damnation in hell. This is most crucial.

Human beings naturally fear physical death because it means leaving this present life—our families, possessions, plans, relationships, ambitions, and everything familiar. But according to the teaching of Scripture, physical death is not the ultimate tragedy.

Jesus Himself redirected the attention of His disciples from those who can kill the body to the greater reality of what can happen to the soul.

A person can be physically alive and yet spiritually dead. Ephesians 2:1 speaks of those who were “dead in trespasses and sins.” Spiritual death is separation from the life of God because of sin.

Isaiah 59:2 says:

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God.”

This is why the condition of the soul must never be treated lightly. A person may be successful, respected, wealthy, educated, and apparently doing well in life, yet still be spiritually dead.

The most important question is not simply, “How am I doing in this world?”

It is, “What is the condition of my soul before God?”

Physical death is certain. Hebrews 9:27 says:

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

There is something after this.

This present world is not our final destination. We are pilgrims here. Peter calls us “strangers and pilgrims” (1 Peter 2:11).

Therefore, how we live here matters. Our possessions, success, suffering, temptations, relationships, decisions, and use of time must all be viewed in the light of eternity.

The Scriptures do not present hell as something to be ignored because it is uncomfortable. Jesus spoke about it seriously. Matthew 25:46 speaks of “everlasting punishment” and “life eternal.”

This is why eternal damnation is far more dreadful than physical death. Physical death ends earthly existence, but eternal judgment concerns what follows beyond this life.

There is no earthly opportunity after death to reverse one's eternal condition.

As saints of God, we should therefore not live in terror of death, but there must be a holy seriousness concerning separation from God, disobedience to His truth, spiritual deception, unrepentant sin, and ultimately eternal judgment.

Jesus said:

“Abide in me, and I in you.”
— John 15:4

We must not allow our faith to be merely something we profess with our mouths. We are called to remain in Christ, to walk in holiness, obedience, watchfulness, and faithfulness.

Hebrews 12:14 says:

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”

Ultimately, the deepest need of humanity is not merely to know about God, but to truly know Him.

Jesus said:

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
— John 17:3

We must come to understand who God is, what sin is, what Christ has accomplished, what salvation means, what holiness requires, and what eternity holds.

The truth must become more than information. It must become our reality.

The awareness of eternity should not make us careless about this life. It should make us more serious about how we live it.

Paul said:

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
— Philippians 1:21

Therefore, the question is not merely whether we will die.

The question is: How are we living before God while we are alive?

Every believer must come to the true reality of what should be most dreaded on this earthly pilgrimage. Physical death is real, but it is not the final reality for those who are in Christ.

The greater realities are spiritual death, separation from God, and eternal damnation.

Earthly life is temporary. Eternity is permanent. The grave is not the conclusion of the human story, because Scripture declares that after death comes judgment.

May the good Lord bring every person to the true understanding of who He is, the seriousness of eternity, the reality of salvation, and the knowledge of His truth in Jesus Christ.

*TAKE HEED WHAT YOU HEAR*

Scripture:
“And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.” — Mark 4:24 (KJV)

*Reflection – Be Careful What You Allow Into Your Heart*

Jesus teaches us in Mark 4:24 to pay careful attention to what we hear. Not every voice deserves our attention, and not every message deserves a place in our hearts.

What we repeatedly hear can influence our thoughts, attitudes, decisions, faith, and ultimately our lives. Therefore, Christ calls us to become intentional listeners—people who listen to God's Word, receive it with faith, and put it into practice.

The second part of the verse reminds us that spiritual understanding grows when we faithfully respond to what God has already revealed. When we value God's truth and live by it, He gives us greater understanding and deeper spiritual maturity.

Today, let us ask: What voices are shaping my life? Am I listening more to fear or faith? To discouragement or God's promises? To human opinions or the truth of Scripture?

*Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that my ears are attentive to the voice of God. I shall hear His Word with understanding, receive it with faith, and obey it with a willing heart.

I declare that every voice of fear, discouragement, confusion, negativity, and deception that seeks to weaken my faith shall not control me. I choose to listen to the voice of truth, wisdom, faith, hope, and righteousness.

Today, I receive grace to discern what I should hear and what I should reject. The Holy Spirit shall sharpen my spiritual discernment and protect my heart from influences that are contrary to God's will.

I declare that God's Word shall take root deeply within me. It shall shape my thoughts, guide my decisions, influence my relationships, and direct my actions.

I proclaim that as I faithfully apply God's Word, greater wisdom and understanding shall be given to me. I shall grow spiritually, mature in faith, and become more effective in fulfilling my God-given purpose.

Today, I declare God's wisdom over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. I shall hear the right counsel, recognize the right opportunities, and make decisions that align with God's purpose.

I declare that I shall not allow negative words spoken about me to define my identity. My identity is rooted in Christ, and my confidence comes from God's Word.

I proclaim that my mouth shall also become a source of life. I will be careful not only about what I hear but also about what I speak. My words shall encourage, strengthen, heal, and point people toward Christ.

Today, I receive grace to become a doer of God's Word and not merely a hearer. What God teaches me shall produce visible transformation in my character and conduct.

I declare that every good seed of God's Word planted in my heart shall produce fruit. My faith shall grow, my wisdom shall increase, my discernment shall deepen, and my life shall become increasingly fruitful.

I will hear God's Word.
I will receive God's Word.
I will obey God's Word.
I will grow through God's Word.
And I will become a blessing to others through God's Word.

Begin with God's Word: Spend time reading Scripture before filling your mind with social media, news, or other voices.

Read Mark 4:1–25: Meditate especially on Jesus' teaching about hearing and receiving God's Word.

Declare: “I take heed to what I hear. My ears are open to God's truth, and my heart is ready to obey His Word.”

Check your influences: Identify one negative voice, habit, or source of information that has been affecting your faith and reduce its influence.

Speak life: Intentionally encourage at least one person today with words of faith, hope, and love.

Apply what you hear: Ask yourself, “What is God asking me to do with what I have learned?” Then take one practical step.

End with thanksgiving: Thank God for His Word and ask Him for greater wisdom and understanding.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving me Your Word to guide, correct, strengthen, and transform my life.

Lord Jesus, help me to take heed to what I hear. Give me discernment to recognize Your voice and wisdom to reject every voice that is contrary to Your truth.

Guard my heart from fear, confusion, discouragement, bitterness, gossip, deception, and every negative influence that can weaken my faith.

Let Your Word take deep root in my heart. Give me understanding as I read Scripture and grace to put what I learn into practice.

Give me wisdom concerning my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and future. Help me hear the right counsel and make decisions that honor You.

QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

"When God goes before you, no battle is greater than His power."

DAY'S REFLECTION

Life sometimes brings battles we cannot avoid—opposition, difficult circumstances, uncertainty, disappointment, and situations that seem beyond our control. In such moments, God's Word gives us a powerful assurance: we are not fighting alone.

Deuteronomy 20:4 declares that "the LORD your God is he that goeth with you." The word "goeth" reminds us that God does not send His people into battle and abandon them. He goes with them. His presence gives us courage when circumstances create fear.

The Scripture also says that God goes with us "to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." This does not mean that believers will never face opposition. Rather, it assures us that our ultimate confidence is in God's power, justice, and ability to deliver. Some battles require our action and obedience; others require us to stand still and allow God to intervene.

This is exactly what Moses told Israel at the Red Sea in Exodus 14:14: "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Israel was trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army. Humanly speaking, there seemed to be no escape. Yet God was about to demonstrate that an impossible situation was not beyond His ability.

"Hold your peace" means to remain calm and trust God rather than allowing fear and panic to control you. There are times when our greatest act of faith is to stop worrying, pray, obey God's instructions, and wait for Him to act.

In everyday life, we may encounter situations where we have done everything within our ability and still see no solution. Such moments remind us that God's power is greater than human limitations. We should not respond with panic, bitterness, or despair. Instead, we should place the matter before God and trust Him for direction and deliverance.

Today, remember that the battle belongs to the Lord. Do what He requires of you, but do not carry what only He can carry. God goes before you, God stands with you, and God is able to fight for you.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: GOD'S COVENANT OF PROSPERITY

MEMORIZE:
"But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

BIBLE READING: JOB 36:11-12
11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

MESSAGE:
When you enter into a covenant with the Owner of the earth and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1), the One who owns all the gold and the silver (Haggai 2:8), He will prosper you and add no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22).

The devil often lures people into entering into a covenant with him by promising them great wealth. However, such prosperity always comes with many sorrows. I recall the story of a man who went to a herbalist and entered into a covenant with demonic forces so that he could become incredibly wealthy for seven years, after which he would die. He swallowed a charm the herbalist gave him, but he didn't get rich; instead, he had a seven-year countdown to his death. A few days before the seven years expired, the man ran into the church and told us his story. We told him to give his life to Jesus Christ, and He would protect him. He agreed, and we prayed a simple prayer with him. Right there, in the presence of everyone in the church, he vomited what he had swallowed. We rejoiced with him, and for a while after that, he attended church services regularly. After some time, however, he stopped coming, so we decided to conduct a follow-up. When we visited him, he said that the herbalist had told him he had swallowed the first charm incorrectly, so he gave him another one to swallow. Before long, he became wealthy. When the seven-year period stipulated by the covenant was close to expiring, he thought to himself, "The covenant is here in Nigeria. I will travel to London, and the demons won't be able to reach me there." Unfortunately, he died on a plane as he flew to London. Only God's covenant of prosperity will make a fellow rich and add no sorrow with it.

Malachi 3:10 is a vital part of God's covenant of prosperity. When you pay your tithe, God will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing upon you that will be so great that you will not have enough room to contain it. Furthermore, Proverbs 3:9-10 encourages us to honour God with our firstfruits. God doesn't need money; He can provide for anything He wants to do, but He asks to be honoured. Beloved, once you are in covenant with God, He will always provide for you and make sure that you never lack. May your life always reflect the blessings of the Lord, in Jesus' name

“𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘳,
𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.”

Life’s burdens can feel too heavy to carry alone. Trials, temptations, grief, and tears can weigh down even the strongest believer. We are often taught to handle our problems privately and never show weakness. Yet God never designed His people to walk in isolation. Whether we are hiding our struggles or overlooking someone else’s, the question is not whether burdens exist—but whether we will carry them together.

Paul writes in 🕮 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟔:𝟐, “𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘺𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳'𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵.” The command is simple but weighty. The Christian life is not merely about enduring our own trials; it also calls us to help fellow believers through seasons when their burdens become too heavy. Grace received should become grace extended.

A single branch may break under fruit’s weight, but many together can bear much more. So it is with the church. Sometimes we need someone to pray with us, weep with us, encourage us, or lovingly correct us. Some burdens become lighter when they are carried together. Biblical fellowship is not merely sitting beside one another—it is standing with one another.

Scripture repeatedly calls us to this kind of compassionate care. We are commanded to “𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘱” (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟐:𝟏𝟓), and to “𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥, 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬, 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘯” (𝟏 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏𝟒), We are not only called to walk together; but we are called to be a burden-bearer.

We are to “𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴” (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟐:𝟒). Don’t be a spectator tossing water bottles from the stands—enter the race. A simple prayer, timely encouragement, listening ear, or faithful presence can beautifully express Christ’s love. True fellowship means getting our hands dirty in the trenches of another’s grief.

Christ carried the burden we could never carry ourselves. Isaiah declared, “𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘧𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴” (𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝟓𝟑:𝟒). At Calvary, Jesus bore our sins and suffered in our place. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to the Scriptures (𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟓:𝟑–𝟒). We carry one another because our Saviour first carried our greatest burden—our sin.

Who around you is carrying something too heavy to bear alone? Have you become so occupied with your own concerns that you no longer notice the hurting beside you? You don't need Christ merely to carry your own burdens—you need Him to teach you how to carry others with His love. Look around. Someone may not need another sermon today—they may need someone willing to carry together.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank You for carrying us through burdens we could never bear alone. Forgive us for overlooking those who are hurting around us. Give us compassionate hearts, willing hands, and faithful spirits to encourage, strengthen, and help one another for the glory of Christ. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Heaven Will Be Worth the Wait

There is a day coming for every child of God when faith will become sight, hope will become reality, and the long journey home will finally be over. Whatever trials we endure in this present life, whatever tears we shed, whatever prayers seem to wait unanswered, there is a glorious promise before us: Heaven will be worth the wait.

The Bible does not describe eternity as an endless existence floating upon clouds. It presents something far greater—a restored creation, the presence of God, the glory of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of our bodies, the reunion of God’s people, and a world where sin, suffering, death, and sorrow are gone forever.

The Greatest Gift: We Will See Jesus

Above everything else, Heaven is glorious because Jesus will be there.

Paul wrote that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Jesus Himself promised His disciples:

“I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
—John 14:3, KJV

Imagine that moment.

The One whom we have trusted without seeing, we will finally see face to face. The One whose name we have worshiped, whose Word we have believed, and whose grace has carried us through our darkest days will stand before us in glory.

The Apostle John tells us:

“We shall see him as he is.”
—1 John 3:2

Every question about faith will be answered by His presence. Every doubt will disappear. Every struggle will seem small compared with the glory of being with Christ.

Jesus is not merely the One who gets us to Heaven.

Jesus is the treasure of Heaven.

We Will See Our Loved Ones Again

For those who have died in Christ, death is not the final goodbye.

The Christian hope is resurrection.

Paul comforted believers who were grieving their departed loved ones, telling them that Christians should not grieve “even as others which have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13). He then described the great day when Christ returns and the dead in Christ are raised.

“And so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
—1 Thessalonians 4:17

What a promise.

The Christian does not believe that death permanently destroys the relationships God has given us. We look forward to the resurrection and the gathering together of God’s people in the presence of Christ.

Can we imagine embracing a loved one again—without sickness, without separation, without the fear that another goodbye is coming?

The reunion will not be marked by hospitals, funerals, tears, or graves.

It will be life.

And it will be eternal.

No More Death, Sorrow, or Pain

Perhaps one of the most beautiful promises concerning eternity is found in Revelation:

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.”
—Revelation 21:4

Think about everything that causes us grief in this present world.

There will be no more death.

No more funeral services.

No more cancer wards.

No more broken hearts.

No more loneliness.

No more betrayal.

No more fear.

No more sin.

No more crying ourselves to sleep.

God Himself will wipe away the tears.

The hands that created the universe will personally comfort His children.

The New Heaven and the New Earth

Scripture points beyond simply going to Heaven. God’s ultimate plan is the renewal of creation.

John saw:

“a new heaven and a new earth.”
—Revelation 21:1

The Christian hope is not ultimately an escape from God’s creation but the redemption and renewal of creation.

Peter likewise speaks of looking for:

“new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
—2 Peter 3:13

Imagine a world where righteousness dwells completely.

No corruption.

No injustice.

No violence.

No exploitation.

No pollution.

No decay.

No sin.

Everything will finally exist as God intended it to exist.

The curse will be gone, and creation itself will be brought into glorious freedom.

The New Jerusalem

And then Scripture gives us one of the most breathtaking visions in all of the Bible—the New Jerusalem.

John saw the holy city descending from Heaven:

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
—Revelation 21:2

The description is magnificent: gates of pearl, foundations adorned with precious stones, streets of pure gold, and the glory of God illuminating the city.

But even these incredible descriptions point toward something greater.

God Himself will dwell with His people.

Revelation says:

“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them.”
—Revelation 21:3

The greatest beauty of the New Jerusalem will not be its gold.

It will not be its gates.

It will not be its walls.

It will be the presence of God.

And there will be no temple in the city, because:

“the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
—Revelation 21:22

The Lamb is Jesus Christ.

The One who died for us will be at the center of eternity.

We Will Finally Understand

There are things we cannot understand now.

There are prayers we do not understand.

There are disappointments whose purpose remains hidden.

There are losses that still hurt.

There are seasons when we wonder why God allowed something to happen.

But Heaven will bring clarity.

Paul wrote:

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face.”
—1 Corinthians 13:12

One day we will see clearly.

We will understand that God never abandoned His children.

We will understand the meaning of grace.

We will understand the purpose of perseverance.

And perhaps many things that caused us to weep on earth will appear completely different when viewed from eternity.

Heaven Will Make This Journey Worth It

Paul, who suffered imprisonment, persecution, beatings, rejection, hunger, danger, and hardship, wrote:

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
—Romans 8:18

That is an extraordinary statement.

Paul was not saying that suffering is insignificant.

He was saying that future glory is infinitely greater.

Whatever you are facing today, it will not last forever.

The sickness will not last forever.

The grief will not last forever.

The struggle against sin will not last forever.

The tears will not last forever.

This present age is not the end of the story.

There is a resurrection coming.

There is a Kingdom coming.

There is a New Jerusalem coming.

There is a new heaven and a new earth coming.

And, most importantly, Jesus is coming.

Keep Going

Sometimes the Christian life feels long.

Sometimes the road is difficult.

Sometimes faith feels like walking through darkness while holding onto a promise.

But keep going.

Keep trusting Christ.

Keep praying.

Keep believing.

Keep your eyes on eternity.

The writer of Hebrews tells us to run the race with endurance, “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:1–2).

The finish line is closer than it has ever been.

And when we finally cross it, we will discover that every sacrifice made for Christ was worth it.

Every prayer was worth it.

Every act of obedience was worth it.

Every tear was worth it.

Every moment when we chose Christ over the world was worth it.

Because on the other side of this life is not emptiness.

There is glory.

There is resurrection.

There is reunion.

There is righteousness.

There is the New Jerusalem.

There is the new heaven and the new earth.

And there is Jesus.

The Best Is Yet to Come

Christian, do not let the temporary darkness of this world make you forget the eternal light that is coming.

Jesus promised to prepare a place for His people.

He promised to return.

He promised resurrection.

God promised to make all things new.

And John heard the voice from the throne proclaim:

“Behold, I make all things new.”
—Revelation 21:5

One day, the journey will be over.

One day, faith will become sight.

One day, we will stand in the presence of the One who loved us enough to die for us.

One day, we will see those who have gone before us in Christ.

One day, there will be no more graves to visit because death will be gone.

One day, there will be no more tears to shed because God Himself will wipe them away.

One day, we will enter the fullness of the inheritance Christ purchased for us.

And when that day comes, we will understand something with absolute certainty:

Heaven was worth the wait.

Until then, keep your eyes upon Jesus.

The road may be difficult.

The night may be long.

But morning is coming.

Christ is coming.

And for those who belong to Him, the best is yet to come.

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
—Revelation 22:20

THE CROSS OF CALVARY 🏽

WEDNESDAY, 19TH AUGUST, 2026

TEXT: JOHN 9:1–41

KEY VERSE:

«“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” — John 9:5 (KJV)»

JESUS — THE ONE WHO OPENS BLIND EYES

John 9 introduces us to a man who had been blind from birth. His condition became an opportunity for Jesus to reveal the power and glory of God.

The disciples asked whether his blindness was caused by his own sin or the sin of his parents. But Jesus redirected their attention from blame to purpose.

«“Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” — John 9:3»

Sometimes we focus so much on “Why did this happen?” that we fail to ask, “What can God do through this?”

Jesus is still able to bring light into places where people see only darkness.

THREE TRUTHS FROM JOHN 9

JESUS CAN TURN IMPOSSIBLE SITUATIONS INTO TESTIMONIES. 🏽

The man had never seen.

Humanly speaking, his condition seemed permanent.

But one encounter with Jesus changed his story.

What people may consider hopeless is never beyond the reach of Christ.

Your present situation is not necessarily the final chapter of your life.

God can still write a testimony.

SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS IS GREATER THAN PHYSICAL BLINDNESS.

The man received physical sight, but the religious leaders who could physically see were spiritually blind.

They witnessed the miracle but refused to recognize Jesus.

This teaches us that it is possible to have healthy physical eyes and yet have a heart that cannot see the truth.

We need more than physical sight.

We need spiritual eyes to recognize Christ, understand His Word and follow His ways.

«“One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.” — John 9:25»

What a testimony!

The man did not have an answer for every theological argument.

He simply knew what Jesus had done for him.

Your testimony is evidence of God's work in your life.

TRUE SIGHT LEADS US TO WORSHIP JESUS. 🏽

When Jesus found the man after he had been rejected, Jesus revealed Himself to him.

The man responded:

«“Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.” — John 9:38»

This is the ultimate purpose of spiritual revelation.

When God opens your eyes to who Jesus is, your response should be faith, surrender and worship.

We do not seek miracles merely for the miracle.

We seek Christ.

We do not follow Jesus only because of what He can give us.

We follow Him because He is Lord.

TODAY'S REFLECTION

There are different kinds of blindness.

Some people are blind to God's goodness.

Some are blind to their own condition.

Some are blind to the truth of God's Word.

Some are blind to the opportunities God has placed before them.

And some are blind to the presence of Jesus.

Today, ask God:

“Lord, open my eyes.”

Open my eyes to see Your goodness.

Open my eyes to see my weaknesses.

Open my eyes to understand Your Word.

Open my eyes to recognize Your direction.

Open my eyes to see Jesus more clearly.

Never allow familiarity, pride or unbelief to make you spiritually blind.

The man in John 9 moved from blindness to sight, from rejection to acceptance, and from ignorance to worship.

May that also be your testimony.

I was blind, but now I see!

🏽 PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Jesus Christ, the Light of the world.

Lord, open my spiritual eyes. Remove every blindness that prevents me from seeing You clearly and understanding Your Word.

Help me to recognize Your presence even when circumstances are difficult.

Where I have been confused, give me clarity.

Where I have been spiritually blind, give me revelation.

Where I have been discouraged, give me hope.

Where I have been rejected, remind me that I am accepted in Christ.

Let my life become a testimony of Your transforming power.

May I never allow the opinions of people to make me deny what You have done in my life.

Give me grace to believe, follow and worship Jesus faithfully.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. 🏽

CALVARY BLESSING

May the Lord open your eyes to see His goodness.

May He give you spiritual understanding.

May His Word illuminate your path.

May every form of spiritual blindness be removed.

May your testimony become stronger with each passing day.

And may your life continually declare:

“I once was blind, but now I see!”

See Jesus.
Follow Jesus.
Trust Jesus.
Worship Jesus.
