• Matthew 19:13-26

    After his treatise on divorce and marriage, Jesus is tired as the disciples are trying to limit the numbers of those approaching them. Again, Jesus emphasizes the importance of the Child and tells them that His kingdom only belongs to those who are as children. So Jesus lays hands on them, imparting blessings we will never know upon them.

    Then as He leaves there, He is approached by a man with the energy of an eager student speaking to his favorite professor asking what's going to be on the test. What good thing must I do to get eternal life? Jesus can see the eager attitude and this man's heart that he isn't truly willing to do what it takes to receive eternal life so he tells him simply, “Keep the commandments”

    At this the man probably felt good, “keep the commandments“? I could do that in my sleep. What else?
    And it's at this question that Jesus looks at him and sees his heart. Sees what it is that would make this man a true follower of Jesus and sees the first thing that will stop his progress.

    Which ones? The man asks and Jesus listed a few, do not murder being the first. I mean it's not all that difficult to not murder someone. And with the eager enthusiasm as a young student would have confidently asks a question you can just hear the tone of as Jesus has answered this man positively the previous three times he asked a question. You can almost hear the smugness as he asks,

    Is there anything else I lack?

    And Jesus addresses the one issue that will keep this man from obtaining eternal life, go, sell all you own to give to the poor and come follow me. And the young man walked away sad because he was rich. There's a saying I never really understood until recently “the poor are some of the most generous people on earth.”

    And I've seen it displayed over and over again. A homeless man offers a dollar to someone in more need than he is. While a rich man seals up his wallet and tucks it away when asked. But Jesus is cautioning his disciples about the rich.

    First, He is not saying that all rich people are condemned as some have done so based on a religion featuring a progressive political agenda that is not what He ever intended. Second, He's essentially saying that following Him will cost the disciple everything.

    If what you have, you cling to, it may be necessary to sell all you have. Any thing(s) that may get in the way of total dedication to Him must be cut off and eliminated.

    It truly is a heavy cost to follow Him. In some countries, following Him costs your life. In this country it's becoming more and more difficult to follow Him if you follow with biblical vigor and faith. For all it costs something, for some, it costs everything.

    [13] Then some children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. [14] But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [15] After laying His hands on them, He departed from there. [16] And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?” [17] And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” [18] Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; [19] Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [20] The young man *said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?” [21] Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” [22] But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. [23] And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. [24] And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” [25] When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” [26] And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    FRIDAY JULY 31, 2O26.
    "CONTROL YOUR TONGUE "

    '…If we could control our tongues, we…could also control ourselves in every other way.’  James 3:2 NLT

    THE SAYING goes, ‘We are like cats; we lick ourselves with our tongues!’ When someone spreads gossip, mark that person carefully. Why? Because if they talk to you about somebody else, they’ll talk to somebody else about you. The Bible warns us about three things: 1) a hasty tongue. ‘Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him’ (Proverbs 29:20 NKJV). If you take time to get the facts, much of the time you’ll speak differently. Hannah prayed so passionately for a child that Eli the high priest thought she was drunk. When the disciples saw Jesus walking toward them on the Sea of Galilee, they thought He was a ghost. So think, or better yet, pray before you jump to conclusions. 2) a flattering tongue. ‘…There is no faithfulness in their mouth…they flatter with their tongue’ (Psalms 5:9 NKJV). Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be genuine. When you flatter people, you manipulate them for your own ends. Don’t do that. Give it to them straight. If you love them, be truthful with them. 3) a judgmental tongue. Jesus said, ‘Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you’ (Matthew 7:1-2 NKJV). If you live long enough, you’ll be guilty of many of the same things you’re so quick to condemn in others. The truth is, how you deal with other people determines how God deals with you.

    FRIDAY 31ST JULY, 2026```

    *PREPARATIONS FOR THE MASTER* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```TEXT:LUKE 22:7-12```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat" (LUKE 22:8).*_

    *One of the most enduring and longest placed dining tables in the world is in the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India. The palace was built by Nawab Viqar-ul-Umra, and it was completed in 1894. The dining table was crafted with the finest materials available at that time. It is 108-foot-long and is designed to seat 101 guests. The table is part of the furniture still used today at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, which has been converted to a luxury hotel. It takes an uncommon table to entertain uncommon guests.*

    *It was Passover time and for Jesus, it would be His last with His disciples. He wanted to celebrate it in an uncommon way. He instructed them to go and prepare a place for the feast, though, unknown to them, He had by divine power, already put arrangements in place. Getting the work done well will take their willingness, faith in His word and implicit obedience to His instructions for them to make a success of their assignment. Jesus sent Peter and John on this special assignment and wonderfully enough, on this occasion, Peter did not ask questions. He went as instructed and found the words of Jesus true to the letter.*

    *There is nothing on earth that can take our Lord by surprise. John says Jesus "needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man" (John 2:25). He knew the houses and spaces available for Him. He knew the locations and available "large rooms" furnished to receive Him. But He did not take chances by keeping the guests wondering when He would come. He sent an advance party to get all things ready.*

    *The Lord Jesus is coming again and He wants you to be ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. He has gone to prepare a place for the elect and He wants us to be watchful and prepared for the glorious occasion. Peter and John did not hesitate to carry out His plan to get the table for the feast ready. He has great expectations that you will carry out His instructions. Will you let Him down?*

    *RESTITUTION* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```TEXT:LUKE 19:1-10```
    ``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold" (LUKE 19:8).*_

    *The _Collins Dictionary_ defines restitution as one, "the act of giving back something that has been lost or stolen;" two, "the act of compensating for loss or injury by reverting as far as possible to the position before such injury occurred;" and three, "the return of an object or system to its original state, especially a restoration of shape after elastic deformation."*

    *This three-layer definition of restitution provides a clear picture of what restitution entails in the Christian faith. Restitution is important because it shows how repentance and conversion come with a broken and contrite spirit. The example of Zacchaeus in the Bible demonstrates that becoming a disciple of Christ requires restoring to others what has been taken wrongfully.*

    *Restitution concretises your repentance and it also makes people around you to know about the grace of God which could help you to be desirous of amending your ways. Seek to amend your ways today by restoring things taken from others wrongfully and by restoring peaceful relationship with those you offended. Seek counsel from mature believers to handle cases that may implicate others.*

    ```CHALLENGE:``` _*Make your restitution without further delay.*_
    ```Key Verse:``` _*"Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering" (Leviticus 6:5).*_

    John borrowed a story book from the library and forgot to return it. In church, years after he left primary school, he heard a message on restitution. He made up his mind to take the book back to his former school. The head teacher of the school was very happy with John.

    When we become saved, God expects us to make right all our wrongs. Perhaps you took something that does not belong to you, return it to the rightful owner. If you told a lie or bore false witness against an innocent person or gossiped about your pastor, friend or teacher, then, you must do your restitutions and make things right with them.

    The verse three (3) of our text says, *"Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein". You must return all that does not belong to you to the rightful owners and confess to people you have wrongfully accused. When you do these, God will bless you with peace, joy and progress.*

    *OBEDIENCE UNTO DEATH*

    *TEXT:* LUKE 22:7-12.

    7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
    8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
    9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
    10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
    11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
    12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross"_ (Philippians 2:8).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Willing and joyful obedience to God and His Word is one of the clearest distinguishing marks of a child of God. An unconverted person will see obedience as a burden and when he may be willing he may not have the power to obey. When someone is genuinely converted, all forms of resistance and reluctance in obeying God are given a deadly blow. The more consecrated he is, the more tender his heart is and the more surrendered to the will, word, way and wisdom of God. Obedience is the practical proof of love for God. As the hour of His suffering drew near, Jesus did not avoid the Father’s will; He moved steadily toward the cross even when it was not convenient. In this passage we see obedience displayed first by the Saviour, then by His servants and finally by those who would become obedient saints. True discipleship is not selective obedience, but complete surrender, even when the path leads to sacrifice.

    *1. The Obedient Saviour*

    *"Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”* The law of the passover had been in existence for thousands of years since the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt. It is easy to see the ceremonial law as outdated and Jesus could easily have waived it off as inconsequential. Rather, Jesus took it seriously as something that must be obeyed since it had not been abrogated by God. There is also the psychological trauma that He could have used as an excuse for not obeying this law of passover. He knew that the Passover pointed to His own death as the Lamb of God and the thought of it could be very distressing. Yet, He was obedient unto death; He did not resist the divine timetable. His obedience was deliberate, timely and total.
    b. Obedience to the Word of God should be total and there should not be any excuse when the Word of God is clear. He teaches us that obedience is not merely doing what is easy; it is submitting to God’s will even when it involves suffering. There is no record of spots in the character of Jesus though He passed through most emotionally tasking situations and circumstances. We are to follow His example and this will take determination, consecration and prayer for grace.

    *Question*

    Am I willing to obey God when obedience demands sacrifice, inconvenience or personal loss?

    *2. The Obedient Servants*

    a. Jesus sent Peter and John with specific instructions concerning the Passover preparation. *"Go and prepare us the passover that we may eat"*. They were told what to do, where to go and whom to follow. That kind of commandment was strange. The disciples were always with Jesus and they never saw or heard Him telling someone about using his house for passover. It was natural for people like Peter not to "play the fool" but rather ask questions from Christ so as to be more certain. Surprisingly, they did not ask Jesus for clarifications, argue, delay or substitute their own ideas; they simply obeyed. Actually, the instructions were detailed enough that without any question they could easily follow the instructions of Jesus. But it would require faith in the Omniscience and Omnipresence of Jesus to obey.
    b. Pride and unbelief are two major drivers of disobedience. He who will follow Jesus must have faith in Christ as the faithful Lord of heaven and earth. He is Omnipotent and Omniscient. There must be humility too. It is the humility of Christ that made Him submit to God's Word and paid the ultimate price for the salvation of mankind. Obedient servants trust the wisdom of their Master even when they do not fully understand His instructions. God often guides step by step and blessing follows those who respond promptly.

    *Question*

    Do I obey God promptly or do I delay until His command agrees with my own plans?

    *3. The Obedient Saint*

    There was no evidence that Jesus had ever met this owner of the house on one on one. He might have been among those multitudes that have heard of Jesus and perhaps followed Jesus. He is a type of secret saint or secret disciple of Christ. The owner of the house responded positively when the disciples conveyed the Master’s request. He made available a large furnished upper room for the Lord’s use. This unnamed man became an example of a saint whose possessions, home and resources were surrendered for God’s purpose. Obedience is
    not limited to dramatic acts; it includes the faithful dedication of what we have to the service of Christ and willingness to give up anything the Master asks for, no matter how precious.

    *Question*

    Is my life, my home, my time and my substance fully available for the Lord’s use? Is there any aspect of the Word of God that you waive aside because you are not willing to obey?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord Jesus, give me a heart that delights to obey You completely .
    2.Father, remove every spirit of disobedience, delay and self-will from my life .
    3.I consecrate my life, family, home and resources for Your service and keep me obedient unto the end .
    4.Circumcise the heart of Your children and purge them from secret, silent and sinning disobedience .

    *HYMN:* Trust and Obey

    *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* PHILIPPIANS 1-4.

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

    Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14

    It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, but why he does it. ⏤ A.W. Tozer

    O You who dwell in the heavens, we lift our eyes to You. The morning calls us again to worship You, and we gladly come to Your feet with our praise. It is fitting that we should bring You our hearts' worship. We have been called from death, as it were, for in our sleep we were like the dead. Our waking is a new beginning of life. We give ourselves to You for another day. We dedicate this day to You and want to make it entirely Yours. We want to make it a holy day, without blemish. We don't want to do anything to stain its white page. We want to write on this little page of ours only beautiful things—a record of worthy deeds, faithfulness, kindness, and unselfishness.

    But we know that we can only make this day white and worthy with Your help. We are naturally selfish—but may You fill us with Your love so that we will do only loving things today. Preserve us from impatience, from outbursts of temper, from quarrelsomeness, and from all harsh and bitter speech. Help us as a family to live together with affection, bearing with one another, restraining anger and unkind feelings, and showing only thoughtfulness, gentleness, and sweetness of spirit. Help us to make our home a place of love where no sharp or unkind words are spoken, where each person thinks only of the others' happiness. Make our home one where Jesus Himself would be glad to be a constant guest.

    Then may our home today be a center of holy influence that spreads light, warmth, and cheer to other homes. There are homes without Your love—without the blessing of Your love revealed and understood. May the influence of our home help to make these homes truer. We ask this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

He went as instructed and found the words of Jesus true to the letter.* *There is nothing on earth that can take our Lord by surprise. John says Jesus "needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man" (John 2:25). He knew the houses and spaces available for Him. He knew the locations and available "large rooms" furnished to receive Him. But He did not take chances by keeping the guests wondering when He would come. He sent an advance party to get all things ready.* *The Lord Jesus is coming again and He wants you to be ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. He has gone to prepare a place for the elect and He wants us to be watchful and prepared for the glorious occasion. Peter and John did not hesitate to carry out His plan to get the table for the feast ready. He has great expectations that you will carry out His instructions. Will you let Him down?* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*The Christian that fails to prepare for the coming glory will have a sad story.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *PHILIPPIANS 1-4*📜📜 Preparations For The Master https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 175: HE IS COMING AGAIN; GHS 176: CHRIST RETURNETH; AND GHS 174: JESUS IS COMING AGAIN* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna31stJuly2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [30/07, 9:00 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```FRIDAY 31ST JULY, 2026``` *RESTITUTION* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:LUKE 19:1-10```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold" (LUKE 19:8).*_ *The _Collins Dictionary_ defines restitution as one, "the act of giving back something that has been lost or stolen;" two, "the act of compensating for loss or injury by reverting as far as possible to the position before such injury occurred;" and three, "the return of an object or system to its original state, especially a restoration of shape after elastic deformation."* *This three-layer definition of restitution provides a clear picture of what restitution entails in the Christian faith. *1. The Obedient Saviour* *"Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”* The law of the passover had been in existence for thousands of years since the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt. *Question* Am I willing to obey God when obedience demands sacrifice, inconvenience or personal loss? *2. The Obedient Servants* a. *Question* Do I obey God promptly or do I delay until His command agrees with my own plans? *3. The Obedient Saint* There was no evidence that Jesus had ever met this owner of the house on one on one. Obedience is not limited to dramatic acts; it includes the faithful dedication of what we have to the service of Christ and willingness to give up anything the Master asks for, no matter how precious. *Question* Is my life, my home, my time and my substance fully available for the Lord’s use? Is there any aspect of the Word of God that you waive aside because you are not willing to obey? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord Jesus, give me a heart that delights to obey You completely 🙏. 2.Father, remove every spirit of disobedience, delay and self-will from my life 🙏. 3.I consecrate my life, family, home and resources for Your service and keep me obedient unto the end 🙏. 4.Circumcise the heart of Your children and purge them from secret, silent and sinning disobedience 🙏. *HYMN:* Trust and Obey *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* PHILIPPIANS 1-4. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14 It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, but why he does it. ⏤ A.W. Tozer O You who dwell in the heavens, we lift our eyes to You. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/26/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.

    Guard Your Thoughts
    Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Proverbs 4:23 (MSG)

    What you think constantly matters because it is your thoughts that shape your reality. If you don't control them, the world will control you instead. Your mind is a storehouse of information, the powerhouse for gathering of ideas, the labour room where visions are born, and the workshop where everything about your life is worked out.

    Your thinking also determines your victory when faced with challenges that look more than you can naturally cope. Battles are won or lost in the realm of thoughts before they are acted out in the physical arena. No matter how equipped you are, it is the state of your mind that will determine your success. You need to think positively, creatively and triumphantly even when external circumstances appear negative. You will overcome! This is your day.

    Wisdom Fountain: “You either control your mind or it controls you.”
    Prayer: Father Lord, I pray for the power and strength to guard my mind. Empower me with Your Holy Spirit to take every wrong thought captive. When negative, anxious, or harmful thoughts try to enter, give me the wisdom to spot them immediately. Give me the courage to cast down anything that does not honour You. Fill my mind with Your peace, Your truth, and Your light in Jesus’ name.

    TITLE: "FINISHING WELL: A LIFE THAT LEAVES AN ETERNAL LEGACY"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    1 Chronicles 29:28 (KJV) And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

    Revelation 14:13 (KJV) And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "The greatest success in life is not merely how long we live, but how faithfully we live so that our works continue to speak after we are gone."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    Every believer desires to live a meaningful life, but God also desires that we finish well. King David's life, despite its imperfections, ended with a testimony of God's goodness and faithfulness. The Bible says he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour. These expressions describe more than material prosperity; they portray a life that fulfilled God's purpose and ended with dignity.

    The phrase "good old age" reminds us that a fulfilled life is measured not merely by years but by walking faithfully with God throughout life's journey. Longevity becomes a blessing when it is accompanied by wisdom, obedience, and fruitful service.

    David was also full of days, meaning he lived a complete life under God's divine purpose. He invested in God's kingdom, prepared the way for the next generation, and left behind a legacy of worship, leadership, and devotion. A fulfilled life is one that positively influences others and advances God's purposes beyond one's lifetime.

    Revelation 14:13 shifts our attention from earthly achievements to eternal reward. Those who die in the Lord are called blessed because they enter into everlasting rest after faithfully serving Christ. Their earthly struggles end, but their works follow them. This does not teach salvation by works, for salvation is by God's grace through faith. Rather, it reminds us that every act of obedience, every sacrifice made for Christ, every soul impacted, and every seed of kindness sown carries eternal significance.

    Life is temporary, but what is done for Christ is eternal. Therefore, believers should live each day intentionally—serving faithfully, loving sincerely, walking humbly, and preparing others to continue God's work. The true measure of success is not what we accumulate but the legacy of faith we leave behind and the eternal reward that awaits those who remain faithful to the end.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S)

    2 Timothy 4:7–8 (KJV)
    I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    Psalm 116:15 (KJV) Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. A successful life is one that faithfully fulfils God's purpose from beginning to end.

    2. True legacy is measured by lives transformed and God's kingdom advanced, not by earthly possessions.

    3. Every act of obedience done for Christ has eternal value and will never be forgotten by God.

    4. Those who remain faithful to Christ have the assurance of eternal rest and heavenly reward.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Live each day with eternity in view. Serve God faithfully, bless others intentionally, and invest your time in works that honour Christ and leave a godly legacy.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, help me to live faithfully, finish well, and leave a legacy that glorifies You. May my life and works bring honour to Christ both now and for eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

    I choose to live faithfully and finish well. My life will glorify God, bless generations, and produce eternal fruit. I shall leave a legacy of faith, and my labour in the Lord will never be in vain. Amen.

    TITLE: "Living a Life of Noble Purpose"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    Isaiah 32:8 (KJV) "But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand."

    Titus 2:7 (KJV) "In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,"

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "A noble life is built by noble choices, and a godly example leaves a legacy that outlives its owner."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    God desires His children to be people of noble character whose lives are marked by generosity, integrity, and good works. Isaiah declares that a noble person plans noble things and remains steadfast because of those honourable decisions. Our actions are often the result of the values we have cultivated in our hearts. When our motives are pure, our lives become a blessing to others.

    Paul instructed Titus to set an example in every area of life. Sound teaching must be accompanied by a lifestyle of sincerity, dignity, and integrity. People are more likely to believe the message of the gospel when they see it reflected in the lives of those who proclaim it. Our daily conduct either strengthens or weakens our witness for Christ.

    Imagine a respected community leader who is known for fairness, honesty, and generosity. When disagreements arise, people naturally seek that person's counsel because years of consistent character have earned their trust. Likewise, believers who consistently practise kindness, truthfulness, and humility become trusted witnesses whose lives point others to Christ.

    Every day presents opportunities to choose what is noble rather than what is convenient. Whether at home, at work, in school, or in ministry, let your words, attitudes, and actions reflect the character of Jesus. A life of good works may not always receive immediate recognition, but it will always bring glory to God and leave an enduring influence on others.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES

    Matthew 5:16 (KJV) "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

    Philippians 4:8 (KJV) "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. Noble character begins with godly thinking.

    2. Good works give credibility to our Christian witness.

    3. Integrity and sincerity honour God.

    4. Consistent godly living influences others positively.

    5. A Christ-like life leaves a lasting legacy.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Choose one act of kindness today.

    Be truthful in your words and actions.

    Look for opportunities to serve others.

    Live in a way that honours Christ.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, help me to live with integrity and noble purpose. Let my life reflect Christ and become a blessing to everyone I meet. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

    I will live a life of noble purpose. My character reflects the nature of Christ. I am an example of good works. God will use my life to bless others. Everything I do will bring glory to God.

    TITLE: "Leading with Integrity and Godly Example"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    Psalm 78:72 (KJV) "So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands."

    1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV) "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "The greatest leaders are remembered not only for what they achieved, but for the godly character they displayed."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    King David's leadership was marked by two outstanding qualities: integrity of heart and skill in action. He cared for God's people with sincerity and led them with wisdom. His effectiveness did not come merely from his abilities but from a heart devoted to God. Excellence in leadership begins with character before it is expressed through competence.

    Paul gave Timothy similar counsel. Though Timothy was young, he was not to allow his age to become an excuse or a limitation. Instead, he was to become an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. God measures leadership by influence and character rather than age, status, or position.

    Imagine a newly appointed teacher entering a classroom for the first time. The students may initially question the teacher's ability because of a youthful appearance. However, as the teacher consistently demonstrates fairness, preparation, respect, and genuine care, confidence grows, and the class responds positively. In the same way, a believer earns lasting influence through a life that consistently reflects Christ.

    Whether you lead a family, a ministry, a classroom, a business, or simply influence friends and neighbours, remember that people are watching your example. Let your words encourage, your actions inspire, and your character honour God. When integrity and godliness guide your life, God will use you to impact others for His Kingdom.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES

    Proverbs 11:3 (KJV) "The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them."

    Matthew 5:16 (KJV) "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. Integrity is the foundation of effective leadership.

    2. God values character as much as ability.

    3. Every believer is called to be a godly example.

    4. Influence grows through consistent faithfulness.

    5. A Christ-like life brings glory to God and inspires others.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Speak words that encourage others.

    Act with honesty in every situation.

    Be a positive example wherever you go.

    Let your decisions reflect Christ.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, give me a heart of integrity and help me to be a faithful example in my words, actions, and character. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

    I will lead with integrity and wisdom. My life reflects the character of Christ. I am a godly example to others. God strengthens my influence for His glory.
    Everything I do will honour the Lord.

    TITLE: "Growing in Wisdom to Impact the World"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    1 Kings 10:24 (KJV) "And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart."

    Colossians 1:28 (KJV) "Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:"

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "Godly wisdom is not given for personal admiration but to transform lives and bring glory to God."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    King Solomon became renowned throughout the world because God placed extraordinary wisdom in his heart. Leaders and rulers travelled great distances, not to admire his wealth alone, but to hear the wisdom that God had given him. His influence was rooted in a gift that originated from the Lord.

    The Apostle Paul presents an even greater purpose for wisdom. He explains that Christian wisdom is meant to lead people into spiritual maturity in Christ. Every sermon preached, every lesson taught, every act of discipleship, and every word of counsel should help believers grow into the likeness of Jesus.

    Imagine a skilled teacher who patiently explains difficult concepts until every student understands. Years later, many of those students become successful professionals who positively influence society. The teacher's greatest achievement is not recognition but the lasting impact made in the lives of others. Likewise, God gives His people wisdom so they can build others, strengthen the Church, and extend His Kingdom.

    Seek wisdom that not only improves your own life but also equips you to serve others. Whether you are a parent, teacher, pastor, leader, student, or worker, let your words, decisions, and actions reflect God's wisdom. As you faithfully use what He has entrusted to you, your influence will point others to Christ and produce fruit that will endure.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES

    James 3:17 (KJV) "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."

    Proverbs 2:6 (KJV) "For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding."

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. God is the source of true wisdom.

    2. Wisdom should be used to serve and build others.

    3. Spiritual maturity comes through sound biblical teaching.

    4. Godly influence leaves an eternal impact.

    5. A humble heart is the best vessel for divine wisdom.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Ask God for wisdom each day.

    Share biblical truth with someone.

    Apply God's wisdom in your decisions.

    Use your knowledge to encourage others.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, fill me with Your wisdom and use my life to strengthen others and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

    God's wisdom guides my life. I will grow in Christ and help others grow. My words will bring encouragement and truth. My life will positively influence my generation. Everything I do will glorify God.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    MONDAY JULY 20, 2026.
    "WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?"

    ‘Grey hair is a crown of splendour; it is attained by a righteous life.’
    Proverbs 16:31 NIV

    WE ALL live for something; the question is, what? Ben Patterson writes in ‘The Grand Essentials’: ‘I have a theory about old age…I believe when life has whittled us down, when joints have failed and skin has wrinkled and capillaries have clogged and hardened, what is left of us will be what we were all along in our essence. Exhibit A: a distant uncle. All his life, he did nothing but find new ways to get rich. He spent his [last years] very comfortably, drooling and babbling constantly about the money he had made. When life whittled him down to his essence, all that was left was raw greed. This is what he had cultivated in a thousand little ways over a lifetime. Exhibit B: My wife’s grandmother. When she died in her mid-eighties, she had already been senile for several years. What did this lady talk about? The best example I can think of was when we asked her to pray before dinner. She would reach out and hold the hands of those sitting beside her, a broad, beatific smile would spread across her face, her dim eyes would fill with tears as she looked up to heaven and her chin would quiver as she poured out her love to Jesus. That was Edna in a nutshell. She loved Jesus and she loved people. She couldn’t remember our names, but she couldn’t keep her hands from patting us lovingly whenever we got near her. When life whittled her down to her essence, all there was left was love…for God and love for people.’ What are you living for?

    *TRANSFORMING GRACE* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```TEXT:1 CORINTHIANS 1:26-31```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called" (1 CORINTHIANS 1:26).*_

    *In his book _Understanding Church Growth,_ The Christian writer, Donald McGavran, used the phrase "redemption lift" to describe the transformative power of the gospel on people's lives, especially their socioeconomic condition. A more recent work by Rodney Stark, titled, _America's Blessings,_ relying on sociological data, concluded that compared to less religious and nonreligious individuals, people of faith are better off. He believes that a person renewed by the gospel increasingly acts in a self-controlled and selfless manner, engages in less criminal behaviour and experiences higher marital happiness and lower divorce rates, while producing more and better-behaved children.*

    *In today's Bible passage, Apostle Paul believes that the gospel of Christ has positively transformed the lives of the Corinthian Christians. This is because God did not consider the smallness or stature of the Corinthian believers before saving them from the power of sin. Paul reminds the Corinthians of their humble beginning in the journey of faith and how God's transforming grace turned their lives around. God can make giants of anyone no matter his or her poor beginning.*

    *Paul believes that God usually does not apply worldly methods to spiritual things. "God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise" (1 Corinthians 1:27). The Bible is full of stories of people like the shepherd boy, David, who was brought from obscurity to the throne. Who would have imagined that a man like Zacchaeus would voluntarily surrender his loot to repair the financial damage done to many families? God transforms sinners to saints effortlessly so that no one will claim any credit for the changes in their lives.*

    *The Christian life is a new life where old things do not dictate our progress any more. This is a new life where redemption transforms us from weaklings to giants. The blessedness of knowing Jesus as Lord and Saviour transcends every limitation there might be in our lives, making us into spiritual giants who can effortlessly, gratefully sing, _"Amazing Grace"!_*

    *Retaliation is the act of harming someone because he or she has harmed us. Another word for it is revenge. Our text tells the story of the defilement of Dinah by Shechem and the cruel act of vengeance carried out by her brothers on Shechem, his father and the adult males in the land.*

    *According to Tim Lahaye, "Sadness and heartache always result when anyone disobeys God's command regarding sexual purity." Many people paid with their lives for the wrong done by one man.*

    *Two lessons can be learned from the story. One, Shechem's sin of fornication with Jacob's daughter, Dinah, brought him an untimely death. Sin brings death, physical, spiritual and eternal, if not repented of.*

    *Two, two wrongs cannot make a right; Jacob's sons took vengeance on Shechem and his family, including the whole city. They killed innocent males who had no involvement in the incident that led to their sister's defilement. This collective punishment is wrong.*

    *We should avoid retaliation and let God fight for us (Romans 12:19). Pray to be sanctified to forgive freely.*

    ```QUOTE:``` _*Avoid retaliation.*_
    ```CHALLENGE:``` _*Have a forgiving heart like our Lord Jesus.*_

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" (John 1:5).*_
    An important aspect of life is influence. Each one of us has influence over someone in this world. It is obvious that the more you lead, the more opportunities for influence you will have. Both positive and negative influences have been recorded in the history of mankind. Good people have an effect on others for good, and bad people have some influence that turn out bad.
    Everybody is being influenced by someone or something no matter who you are, nobody is an island. We see it all around us; everyone is contributing something to influence others. The question is not if we will influence others, but rather what quality of influence we will generate in the lives of others.
    *As Christians, we should be positive influencers. We should influence others for Christ. Let others see Jesus in you, let them see Him in your attitude, lifestyle, behaviour, and from the way you treat others. Someday, we will stand before the Lord Jesus and give an account of how we spent our lives. It would be wise to live in such a way that the Lord is able to say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant!"*
    MONDAY, 20TH JULY, 2026.
    *UNMERITED CHOICE*
    *TEXT:* 1 CORINTHIANS 1:26-31.
    26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
    27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
    28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
    29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
    30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
    31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast"_ (Ephesians 2:8,9).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    God is not partial for He is *"not a respecter of any"*. If God is partial, He will cease to be God. The voice of God is loud enough for every person, including the deaf, to hear. However, many close their ears to His voice that they might not hear. Of all the people who hear, only few respond. God cannot force anyone to respond for that will be contrary to His nature and plan of creating man as a free moral agent. Those who hear and respond appropriately are chosen and are called the chosen of God. *"Many are called few are chosen"*. Those who are chosen are those who are elected and those that are elected are those that are justified and those that are justified are those that are glorified. The call of God to salvation and eternal inheritance is a general appeal to all. Nobody merits that call. It is free for all. By implication and deduction, those who respond and take the needful action and get saved don't merit it either, and neither do they earn it by any means. Paul the Apostle gave the reasons why God did it so. *"That no flesh should glory in his presence"*. The wise, educated and enlightened cannot boast of their wisdom as the reason for their choice by God and neither can the foolish justify himself as to why they opted not to be saved. The door of salvation is open to all, the decision is left to individuals.
    *1.God's Unexpected Believers' Choice*
    a. If a great man is expected to choose those who will be his companion or marry, it is expected that he will look for the wise, brilliant, educated and resourceful people. However, God is looking for those He will make great and wise. The Corinthian believers were reminded to reflect on their own calling. Humanly speaking, not many of them were wise, influential or of noble birth. *"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: "*. They did not respond to the call of God because of their earthly wisdom, wealth, might and nobility; and as a result they were not chosen by God. Yet God deliberately chose the foolish, the weak, the lowly and the despised, who humbly responded to Him, to shame the wise and the mighty. *"And base things of the world, and things that are despised, hath God chosen, yea the things which are not, to bring to nought things that are"*. Those that are despised as nobody, when they chose God and His salvation are cleansed, glorified and gifted as children of God to reflect the glory of God, have the knowledge of His will and be carriers of His mighty power. God's method of choosing people is completely different from man's. While people often value social status, wealth, intelligence, and influence, God looks upon the heart and calls those who will depend entirely on His grace. To those people He imparts His grace and glory. His choice is not based on human qualification, but on His sovereign love and purpose.
    b. Who are the people Jesus Christ chose to be His disciples? Mostly, unlettered men who decided to respond to the call of Jesus Christ. They eventually, got transformed by Jesus Christ and became life changers, solutions to problems that are beyond men and became pillars in the present kingdom and eternal kingdom. This truth should encourage every believer who feels insignificant or overlooked. God's election demonstrates that His power is perfected in human weakness, ensuring that all the glory belongs to Him alone. Only the humble, the meek and the lowly, regardless of their status, are those that the gates of heaven will be opened to now and in eternity.
    *Questions*
    Do you appreciate that God's choice of you was based on His grace rather than your achievements?
    Are you depending on human qualifications more than God's enabling power?
    *2.Glorying Unexpected of the Beloved Chosen*
    a. "*Where is the boasting then?"* *"For if Abraham were justified by works (merit), he hath whereof to glory; but not before God"* (Romans 4:2).
    God's gracious choice leaves no room for human boasting. Salvation is entirely His work from beginning to end. Every believer stands before God solely because of His mercy and not because of personal merit. The Lord intentionally, excludes human pride so that all glory belongs to Him. As "*He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord*." The Christian's confidence is therefore, not in educational attainment, financial success, family background, or spiritual accomplishments, but in the Lord Jesus Christ who has accomplished redemption. Those who understand the grace of God remain humble, grateful and devoted to giving Him all the praise.
    b. No matter the spiritual height anybody has attained, no matter the gift of God a person has, humility and lowliness should continually, guard the mind of the person. *"That, no flesh should glory in His presence"*. *". For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? ?"*. If you are proud as if you earn your salvation, you are likely not to be saved or you have lost it.
    *Questions*
    Is there anything in your life that causes you to boast instead of glorifying Christ? In what practical ways can you glorify the Lord rather than yourself?
    *3. God's Unlimited Blessing Through Christ*
    Christ is God's complete provision and perfect solution for every believer.
    *"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption"* (1 Corinthians 1:30).
    Through Him we receive wisdom to know God's will being the Wisdom of God Himself (1 Corinthians 1:24). True, lasting and eternal wisdom only comes from Christ. Any human wisdom that does not have Christ as the source is foolishness and will not last. He only gives righteousness that will stand accepted before God and sanctification to live holy lives. No human effort can produce the true righteousness of God in man; only Jesus can. He only is the Redeemer from all sins and all evils. Everything required for salvation and victorious Christian living is found in Christ alone. Believers need not seek acceptance or spiritual completeness elsewhere because God has already provided every spiritual blessing in His Son. Therefore, our confidence, hope, strength and future are securely anchored in Jesus Christ.
    *Questions:*
    Are you relying fully on Christ as your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption? Which aspect of Christ's provision do you need to embrace more fully today?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Father, thank You for choosing me by Your grace; help me to remain humble and faithful to Your calling
    2.Lord, remove every form of pride from my heart and teach me to glory only in Christ.
    3.Heavenly Father, enable me to depend daily upon Christ for wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption
    4.Lord, enable all Your children and let our lives continually reflect Your grace so that others may glorify You through our testimony .
    [It is of] the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness. ⏤ Lamentations 3:22-23
    Begin each day with private prayer, with great earnestness. ⏤ George Whitefield
    Father, as the brightness of a new day comes to us, we pause to receive Your blessing. We want to make this a fresh start in our lives. We want to forget the past—our mistakes and sins, our sorrows, and our struggles.
    We begin this new day asking for the grace to live in a way that honors You and blesses the world.
    As we go about our tasks today, we ask for Your special presence with us. We hold onto Your promises. You’ve said, "As your days, so shall your strength be!" and "I am with you always, even to the end of the world!" We wait for these promises to be fulfilled. We need Your guidance and help at every step. We are weak, but You can make us strong to endure. Fill us with Your Spirit so that we can bring something of the love of Jesus to everyone we meet. We want to live in this world as those who belong to Heaven, carrying Heaven’s love in our hearts and Heaven’s light in our faces.
    Knowing our weakness, we cast our lives with all their burdens on You and ask You to keep us. Watch over each of us and bring us all together again this evening, if it is Your will. But if our circle is broken, if any of us are taken away from this earth, receive us into the Father’s house, where we will never have to leave.
    We pray for those who will have a hard day today—the poor, the sick, the tempted, those in the darkness of sorrow. Show Yourself to them in tender love.
    Hear our morning prayers. Keep us from all evil. Help us to faithfully do every duty. We ask all this in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY MONDAY JULY 20, 2026. "WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?" ‘Grey hair is a crown of splendour; it is attained by a righteous life.’ Proverbs 16:31 NIV WE ALL live for something; the question is, what? Ben Patterson writes in ‘The Grand Essentials’: ‘I have a theory about old age…I believe when life has whittled us down, when joints have failed and skin has wrinkled and capillaries have clogged and hardened, what is left of us will be what we were all along in our essence. Exhibit A: a distant uncle. All his life, he did nothing but find new ways to get rich. He spent his [last years] very comfortably, drooling and babbling constantly about the money he had made. When life whittled him down to his essence, all that was left was raw greed. This is what he had cultivated in a thousand little ways over a lifetime. Exhibit B: My wife’s grandmother. When she died in her mid-eighties, she had already been senile for several years. What did this lady talk about? The best example I can think of was when we asked her to pray before dinner. She would reach out and hold the hands of those sitting beside her, a broad, beatific smile would spread across her face, her dim eyes would fill with tears as she looked up to heaven and her chin would quiver as she poured out her love to Jesus. That was Edna in a nutshell. She loved Jesus and she loved people. She couldn’t remember our names, but she couldn’t keep her hands from patting us lovingly whenever we got near her. When life whittled her down to her essence, all there was left was love…for God and love for people.’ What are you living for? Bible In A Year: Acts 24-25; Matt 11:1-9; Ps1; Pro 16:10-15. A more recent work by Rodney Stark, titled, _America's Blessings,_ relying on sociological data, concluded that compared to less religious and nonreligious individuals, people of faith are better off. He believes that a person renewed by the gospel increasingly acts in a self-controlled and selfless manner, engages in less criminal behaviour and experiences higher marital happiness and lower divorce rates, while producing more and better-behaved children.* *In today's Bible passage, Apostle Paul believes that the gospel of Christ has positively transformed the lives of the Corinthian Christians. This is because God did not consider the smallness or stature of the Corinthian believers before saving them from the power of sin. Paul reminds the Corinthians of their humble beginning in the journey of faith and how God's transforming grace turned their lives around. God can make giants of anyone no matter his or her poor beginning.* *Paul believes that God usually does not apply worldly methods to spiritual things. "God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise" (1 Corinthians 1:27). The Bible is full of stories of people like the shepherd boy, David, who was brought from obscurity to the throne. Who would have imagined that a man like Zacchaeus would voluntarily surrender his loot to repair the financial damage done to many families? God transforms sinners to saints effortlessly so that no one will claim any credit for the changes in their lives.* *The Christian life is a new life where old things do not dictate our progress any more. This is a new life where redemption transforms us from weaklings to giants. The blessedness of knowing Jesus as Lord and Saviour transcends every limitation there might be in our lives, making us into spiritual giants who can effortlessly, gratefully sing, _"Amazing Grace"!_* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*The amazing thing about grace is that it admits and transforms the weak, the worldly and the wicked.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *EXODUS 12-16*📜📜 Transforming Grace https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 129: GRACE GREATER THAN OUR SIN; GHS 125: WONDERFUL GRACE OF JESUS; AND GHS 136: AT CALVARY* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna20thJuly2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [19/07, 9:52 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```MONDAY 20TH JULY, 2026``` *RETALIATION* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️😠😡❌🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:GENESIS 34:25-31```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house" (GENESIS 34:30).*_ *Retaliation is the act of harming someone because he or she has harmed us. Another word for it is revenge. Our text tells the story of the defilement of Dinah by Shechem and the cruel act of vengeance carried out by her brothers on Shechem, his father and the adult males in the land.* *According to Tim Lahaye, "Sadness and heartache always result when anyone disobeys God's command regarding sexual purity." Many people paid with their lives for the wrong done by one man.* *Two lessons can be learned from the story. One, Shechem's sin of fornication with Jacob's daughter, Dinah, brought him an untimely death. Sin brings death, physical, spiritual and eternal, if not repented of.* *Two, two wrongs cannot make a right; Jacob's sons took vengeance on Shechem and his family, including the whole city. They killed innocent males who had no involvement in the incident that led to their sister's defilement. This collective punishment is wrong.* *We should avoid retaliation and let God fight for us (Romans 12:19). Pray to be sanctified to forgive freely.* 💬 ```QUOTE:``` _*Avoid retaliation.*_ 🏆 ```CHALLENGE:``` _*Have a forgiving heart like our Lord Jesus.*_ 🙏🏽🙏🏽 ```PRAYER:``` _*Take my heart, oh Lord! Each one of us has influence over someone in this world. It is obvious that the more you lead, the more opportunities for influence you will have. Both positive and negative influences have been recorded in the history of mankind. Good people have an effect on others for good, and bad people have some influence that turn out bad. Everybody is being influenced by someone or something no matter who you are, nobody is an island. We see it all around us; everyone is contributing something to influence others. The question is not if we will influence others, but rather what quality of influence we will generate in the lives of others. *As Christians, we should be positive influencers. We should influence others for Christ. Let others see Jesus in you, let them see Him in your attitude, lifestyle, behaviour, and from the way you treat others. Someday, we will stand before the Lord Jesus and give an account of how we spent our lives. It would be wise to live in such a way that the Lord is able to say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant!"* 🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 ```🅿️rayer:``` _*Lord, help me to be a positive influence to those around me.*_ 🙏🏽 ```📖 Further Reading:``` *Matthew 5:13-16* Positive Influence https://dailymanna.app// *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#SincereMilk20thJuly2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [19/07, 9:53 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* MONDAY, 20TH JULY, 2026. *UNMERITED CHOICE* *TEXT:* 1 CORINTHIANS 1:26-31. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. *Timeless Truth:*_"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast"_ (Ephesians 2:8,9). *INTRODUCTION* God is not partial for He is *"not a respecter of any"*. If God is partial, He will cease to be God. The voice of God is loud enough for every person, including the deaf, to hear. However, many close their ears to His voice that they might not hear. Of all the people who hear, only few respond. God cannot force anyone to respond for that will be contrary to His nature and plan of creating man as a free moral agent. Those who hear and respond appropriately are chosen and are called the chosen of God. *"Many are called few are chosen"*. Those who are chosen are those who are elected and those that are elected are those that are justified and those that are justified are those that are glorified. The call of God to salvation and eternal inheritance is a general appeal to all. Nobody merits that call. It is free for all. By implication and deduction, those who respond and take the needful action and get saved don't merit it either, and neither do they earn it by any means. Paul the Apostle gave the reasons why God did it so. *"That no flesh should glory in his presence"*. The wise, educated and enlightened cannot boast of their wisdom as the reason for their choice by God and neither can the foolish justify himself as to why they opted not to be saved. The door of salvation is open to all, the decision is left to individuals. *1.God's Unexpected Believers' Choice* a. If a great man is expected to choose those who will be his companion or marry, it is expected that he will look for the wise, brilliant, educated and resourceful people. However, God is looking for those He will make great and wise. The Corinthian believers were reminded to reflect on their own calling. Humanly speaking, not many of them were wise, influential or of noble birth. *"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: "*. They did not respond to the call of God because of their earthly wisdom, wealth, might and nobility; and as a result they were not chosen by God. Yet God deliberately chose the foolish, the weak, the lowly and the despised, who humbly responded to Him, to shame the wise and the mighty. *"And base things of the world, and things that are despised, hath God chosen, yea the things which are not, to bring to nought things that are"*. Those that are despised as nobody, when they chose God and His salvation are cleansed, glorified and gifted as children of God to reflect the glory of God, have the knowledge of His will and be carriers of His mighty power. God's method of choosing people is completely different from man's. While people often value social status, wealth, intelligence, and influence, God looks upon the heart and calls those who will depend entirely on His grace. To those people He imparts His grace and glory. His choice is not based on human qualification, but on His sovereign love and purpose. b. Who are the people Jesus Christ chose to be His disciples? Mostly, unlettered men who decided to respond to the call of Jesus Christ. They eventually, got transformed by Jesus Christ and became life changers, solutions to problems that are beyond men and became pillars in the present kingdom and eternal kingdom. This truth should encourage every believer who feels insignificant or overlooked. God's election demonstrates that His power is perfected in human weakness, ensuring that all the glory belongs to Him alone. Only the humble, the meek and the lowly, regardless of their status, are those that the gates of heaven will be opened to now and in eternity. *Questions* Do you appreciate that God's choice of you was based on His grace rather than your achievements? Are you depending on human qualifications more than God's enabling power? *2.Glorying Unexpected of the Beloved Chosen* a. "*Where is the boasting then?"* *"For if Abraham were justified by works (merit), he hath whereof to glory; but not before God"* (Romans 4:2). God's gracious choice leaves no room for human boasting. Salvation is entirely His work from beginning to end. Every believer stands before God solely because of His mercy and not because of personal merit. The Lord intentionally, excludes human pride so that all glory belongs to Him. As "*He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord*." The Christian's confidence is therefore, not in educational attainment, financial success, family background, or spiritual accomplishments, but in the Lord Jesus Christ who has accomplished redemption. Those who understand the grace of God remain humble, grateful and devoted to giving Him all the praise. b. No matter the spiritual height anybody has attained, no matter the gift of God a person has, humility and lowliness should continually, guard the mind of the person. *"That, no flesh should glory in His presence"*. *". For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? ?"*. If you are proud as if you earn your salvation, you are likely not to be saved or you have lost it. *Questions* Is there anything in your life that causes you to boast instead of glorifying Christ? In what practical ways can you glorify the Lord rather than yourself? *3. God's Unlimited Blessing Through Christ* Christ is God's complete provision and perfect solution for every believer. *"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption"* (1 Corinthians 1:30). Through Him we receive wisdom to know God's will being the Wisdom of God Himself (1 Corinthians 1:24). True, lasting and eternal wisdom only comes from Christ. Any human wisdom that does not have Christ as the source is foolishness and will not last. He only gives righteousness that will stand accepted before God and sanctification to live holy lives. No human effort can produce the true righteousness of God in man; only Jesus can. He only is the Redeemer from all sins and all evils. Everything required for salvation and victorious Christian living is found in Christ alone. Believers need not seek acceptance or spiritual completeness elsewhere because God has already provided every spiritual blessing in His Son. Therefore, our confidence, hope, strength and future are securely anchored in Jesus Christ. *Questions:* Are you relying fully on Christ as your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption? Which aspect of Christ's provision do you need to embrace more fully today? *Prayer Points* 1.Father, thank You for choosing me by Your grace; help me to remain humble and faithful to Your calling🙏 2.Lord, remove every form of pride from my heart and teach me to glory only in Christ🙏. 3.Heavenly Father, enable me to depend daily upon Christ for wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption🙏 4.Lord, enable all Your children and let our lives continually reflect Your grace so that others may glorify You through our testimony 🙏. *HYMN:* All things in Jesus *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EXODUS 12-16. 2.
