📖 DON’T JUST READ THE BIBLE. UNDERSTAND IT. We live in a world filled with Bible verses on social media, coffee mugs, T-shirts, signs, and inspirational graphics. ➡️ What comes before and after the verse?
➡️ How does this passage fit into the larger story of Scripture?
➡️ How should this truth change the way I live? Paul told Timothy to work hard so that he could correctly explain the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15, NLT). Bible study should move us beyond simply reading Scripture toward truly understanding and applying it. READ.

A prepared table represents God's provision, peace, and care. David did not say God removed his enemies first. Instead, God gave him peace and blessing while they were still present. **Encouragement:** You may be surrounded by problems, criticism, or people who oppose you, but God is able to provide for you right in the middle of your circumstances. There are moments when God calls us forward even when we feel uncertain, unprepared, or afraid. https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/21/strong-and-courageous-moving-forward-in-obedience-and-faith/ In Joshua 1:6–9, God repeatedly tells Joshua, “Be strong and courageous.” But Joshua’s courage was never supposed to come from confidence in himself. It came from knowing God had made a promise, God had given His Word, and God would be with him wherever he went. The same is true for us. We may not know everything waiting around the corner. We may face responsibilities that feel bigger than us, decisions that make us uncomfortable, or circumstances we never expected. But we can still move forward in faith. Courage grows when we remember God’s promises.
