PROVERB OF THE DAY

(Proverbs 27)

1. Do not boast about tomorrow,
For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

2. Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth;
A stranger, and not your own lips.

3. A stone is heavy and sand is weighty,
But a fool’s wrath is heavier than both of them.

4. Wrath is cruel and anger a torrent,
But who is able to stand before jealousy?

5. Open rebuke is better
Than love carefully concealed.

6. Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

7. A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb,
But to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

8. Like a bird that wanders from its nest
Is a man who wanders from his place.

9. Ointment and perfume delight the heart,
And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel.

10. Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend,
Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity;
Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.

11. My son, be wise, and make my heart glad,
That I may answer him who reproaches me.

12A prudent man
foresees evil and hides himself;.
The simple pass on and are punished.

13. Take the garment of him who is surety for a stranger,
And hold it in pledge when he is surety for a seductress.

14. He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning,
It will be counted a curse to him.

15. A continual dripping on a very rainy day
And a contentious woman are alike;

16. Whoever restrains her restrains the wind,
And grasps oil with his right hand.

17. As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

18. Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit;
So he who waits on his master will be honored.

19. As in water face reflects face,
So a man’s heart reveals the man.

20. Hell and Destruction are never full;
So the eyes of man are never satisfied.

21. The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold,
And a man is valued by what others say of him.

22. Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain,
Yet his foolishness will not depart from him.

23. Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,
And attend to your herds;

24. For riches are not forever,
Nor does a crown endure to all generations.

25. When the hay is removed, and the tender grass shows itself,
And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in,

26. The lambs will provide your clothing,
And the goats the price of a field;

27. You shall have enough goats’ milk for your food,
For the food of your household,
And the nourishment of your maidservants.

THANKFUL THURSDAY MORNING PRAYER!
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” — Psalm 107:1 (KJV)
Heavenly Father, in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we come before You this Thursday morning with grateful hearts.
Before we ask You for anything, we simply want to say THANK YOU!
Thank You for waking us up this morning. Thank You for another day of life. Thank You for breath in our bodies, strength to rise, and another opportunity to experience Your grace and mercy.
Your Word declares:
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
Lord, everything may not be the way we want it to be, but You are still good.
Some of us woke up carrying burdens nobody knows about. Some are worried about their families. Some are concerned about their health. Some are struggling financially. Some are grieving the loss of someone they love. Some are dealing with problems in their marriages and relationships. Some are concerned about their children. Some are waiting on employment or a better opportunity. Some are fighting battles in their minds. And some are simply tired from everything life has brought their way.
But this morning, we choose gratitude over complaining, faith over fear, and worship over worry.
Your Word tells us:
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)
Father, thank You for the prayers You have answered, and thank You for the prayers where the answer is still on the way.
Thank You for the doors You opened, and thank You for the doors You closed because You knew what was on the other side.
Thank You for what You allowed, and thank You for what You prevented.
Thank You for protecting us from dangers seen and unseen.
Thank You for the times we didn't know how we were going to make it—but somehow You made a way!
Lord, somebody needs healing this morning. Touch bodies from the crowns of their heads to the soles of their feet. Strengthen those who are weak. Comfort those experiencing pain. Bring peace to troubled minds and encouragement to discouraged hearts.
For Your Word declares:
“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD.” — Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV)
Father, remember those who are grieving. When the house feels different, when memories bring tears, and when loneliness becomes overwhelming, wrap Your loving arms around them.
Remind them:
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4 (KJV)
Lord, bless our families. Restore broken relationships. Bring parents and children together. Strengthen marriages. Heal misunderstandings between siblings. Remove bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, division, and confusion.
Teach us to love one another, forgive one another, pray for one another, and appreciate one another while we still have the opportunity.
Father, somebody is worried about finances. Bills are due. Prices are high. Resources may be limited. Someone needs employment, a promotion, increased income, or simply enough to make it through.
But we stand upon Your Word:
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
Provide, Lord. Open doors. Give wisdom concerning finances. Create opportunities that no person can shut.
Father, we pray for those struggling silently with anxiety, fear, depression, loneliness, disappointment, and discouragement.
Your Word says:
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
So this morning, we give You what we cannot carry.
We give You our children.
We give You our marriages.
We give You our health.
We give You our finances.
We give You our careers.
We give You our unanswered questions.
We give You our fears about tomorrow.
Lord, we put it all in Your hands!
Father, draw those who do not know Jesus into a saving relationship with You. Let hearts be softened, lives transformed, and souls saved. Restore those who have walked away and remind them that there is still room at Your table.
And Lord, as we go through this Thursday, order our steps.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” — Psalm 37:23 (KJV)
Go before us into every workplace, classroom, hospital room, doctor's office, courtroom, meeting, highway, and home.
Protect those traveling.
Give wisdom to those making difficult decisions.
Give strength to caregivers.
Give peace to families facing uncertainty.
Give hope to those waiting for an answer.
Give courage to those beginning again.
And give endurance to those who are simply trying to make it through another day.
Most of all, Lord, keep us thankful.
When we are tempted to focus on what we don't have, remind us of what You have already provided.
When we become discouraged by how far we still have to go, remind us how far You have already brought us.
When life becomes difficult, remind us that we are never walking alone.
“For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” — Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
So today we declare:
THANK YOU, LORD, FOR LIFE!
THANK YOU FOR GRACE!
THANK YOU FOR MERCY!
THANK YOU FOR PROTECTION!

THURSDAY DECLARATION...
Today, I choose gratitude over worry. I will thank God in every circumstance. I believe He is working even when I cannot see it. My family is covered, my steps are ordered, my needs will be supplied, and God will give me strength for whatever this day brings. This is the day the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it! In Jesus' name, Amen!

*TODAY'S PROPHETIC DECLARATION - THURSDAY, 27TH AUGUST, 2026.*

*ASK WISELY, SEEK GOD'S WILL*

Scripture:
“And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me in a charger the head of John the Baptist.” — Mark 6:25 (KJV).

*Reflection – Not Every Desire Should Become a Request*

Mark 6:25 is part of the tragic account of Herod's birthday celebration, when Herodias' daughter made a request for the head of John the Baptist. Her request was driven by hatred and manipulation, and it ultimately contributed to a terrible injustice.

This passage reminds us that desire without wisdom can lead to destruction. Not everything we want is good for us, and not every opportunity to ask for something should be taken.

As God's children, we must learn to bring our desires before Him and ask:

“Lord, is this truly Your will for me?”

Our prayers should not simply be about getting everything we want. They should also be about allowing God to shape what we want.

Today, ask God for wisdom before opportunity, discernment before decision, and God's will before personal desire.

*Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that God gives me wisdom to discern what is right, beneficial, and pleasing to Him. I shall not be controlled by impulsive desires or pressured into decisions that are contrary to God's will.

I declare that before I make important requests, decisions, commitments, or promises, I shall seek God's wisdom and direction.

Today, the Lord shall purify my desires. May He remove every ambition that would take me away from His purpose and replace it with desires that glorify His name.

I declare that my words shall be guided by wisdom. I shall not use my words to destroy, manipulate, insult, discourage, or harm others. My mouth shall become an instrument of grace, truth, encouragement, and peace.

I proclaim divine discernment over my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and destiny. May God help me recognize what is good, what is dangerous, what is timely, and what is not His will for me.

I declare that I shall not allow anger, bitterness, envy, revenge, pride, or pressure to determine my actions. The Holy Spirit shall govern my heart and guide my decisions.

Today, I receive grace to say “No” to opportunities that appear attractive but would compromise my values, character, or relationship with God.

I declare that God shall give me the wisdom to recognize the difference between an open door and a tempting distraction. I will not pursue everything simply because it is available to me.

I proclaim that my prayers shall increasingly align with God's purposes. Instead of demanding my own way, I will trust the Lord to give me what is truly best according to His wisdom.

I declare that every decision I make today shall be guided by truth, wisdom, love, integrity, and prayer.

May my life never become a source of harm to others through careless words or selfish desires. Instead, may I become a vessel through which God's goodness, compassion, and truth flow.

I will ask wisely.
I will speak carefully.
I will choose prayerfully.
I will act righteously.
I will seek God's will above my own.

Begin with prayer: Ask God for wisdom and discernment before making decisions today.

Read Mark 6:14–29: Reflect on the consequences of Herodias' bitterness, Herod's impulsiveness, and the misuse of power.

Declare: “Lord, purify my desires and guide my decisions according to Your perfect will.”

Think before speaking: Before making a request, promise, response, or commitment, pause and consider its consequences.

Examine your desires: Ask yourself, “Is what I want consistent with God's Word, love, wisdom, and righteousness?”

Reject destructive emotions: Refuse to allow anger, revenge, jealousy, pride, or bitterness to control your actions.

Seek godly counsel: When facing an important decision, pray and seek advice from mature and trustworthy believers.

End with thanksgiving: Thank God for His wisdom and ask Him to continue directing your steps.

*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your Word, which teaches me wisdom and helps me understand the consequences of my choices.

Lord, give me a discerning heart. Teach me to distinguish between what I want and what You desire for me.

Purify my motives and desires. Remove from me every ambition, anger, bitterness, pride, envy, or selfish desire that can lead me away from Your purpose.

Guard my mouth. Let my words bring life rather than destruction, encouragement rather than discouragement, and peace rather than conflict.

Give me wisdom in my family, ministry, work, business, studies, relationships, and every decision I make.

Help me not to pursue every opportunity simply because it is available. Give me discernment to know which doors are from You and which ones I should leave closed.

When I am under pressure, help me remain calm. When I am angry, help me exercise self-control. When I am uncertain, help me wait for Your direction.

Lord, let my desires become aligned with Your will. May I never allow personal ambition to become more important than obedience to You.

Give me the wisdom to ask wisely, speak carefully, and act righteously.

We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. God gives us what we need to serve Him.

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.”

Do what is right, and they will honor you. The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.”

You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law. This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.”

Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God. For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead. So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.’” Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.”

*Jesus Standing in our Place. We’ve got to be assured of Living for Him.
It’s about our Heart.

“So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall. I know and am convinced on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong. And if another believer is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don’t let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died. Then you will not be criticized for doing something you believe is good. For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.”

You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right. But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.”

*Trust God… it’s about the Heart. Relationship with God, relationship with one another…

Human beings are not each other’s enemies… then who is humanity’s true enemy?

In our lives, there are people who speak against us, hurt us, deceive us, or oppose us. Because of this, we may think, “This person is my enemy.”

But the Bible reveals a deeper spiritual truth.

Ephesians 6:12 says:

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

What is Satan’s purpose?

He wants to create hatred, jealousy, conflict, unforgiveness, and division between people.

Because if you see another human being as your enemy, you may begin to hate that person.

But when you understand this spiritual truth, you can say:

“I will not hate this person; I will pray for them, and I will not give Satan’s work a place in my life.”

What did Jesus teach?

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
— Matthew 5:44

Therefore, our battle is not about defeating people; it is about refusing to fall for Satan’s deception.

Our weapon is not hatred—it is love.
Our weapon is not revenge—it is forgiveness.
Our weapon is not fear—it is faith.
Our weapon is not violence against people—it is God’s Word and prayer.

Remember:

Do not consider human beings your enemies.
Recognize the work of Satan.
Stand firm in God’s truth.
And pray even for those who have hurt you.

Because Christ has not called us to conquer people, but to overcome darkness with the light.

You can attend church every Sunday and still be far from God.

You can sit in the front row, carry your Bible, sing every worship song, shout “Amen!” to every prayer, and still have a heart that has not truly surrendered to God.

Church attendance is good. But church attendance alone is not spiritual maturity.

Imagine someone who goes to the gym every single day.

They wear gym clothes.
They take pictures in the gym.
They know the names of all the machines.
They even tell people, “I am always at the gym.”

But they never exercise.

Will their body change? No.

They were physically present, but they were not participating.

That is how some people are spiritually.

They are always in church… But they don’t pray.

They hear the Word… But they don’t obey it.

They sing about forgiveness… But they refuse to forgive.

They preach about love… But they hate people.

They shout about holiness… But secretly live a completely different life.

They know Bible verses… But they don’t know the God behind the verses.

And this is where we need to be brutally honest with ourselves.

You can be a church member and still be spiritually immature.

You can know the language of Christianity without carrying the character of Christ.

You can know when to say “Praise the Lord” while your heart is full of pride, bitterness, lust, jealousy, unforgiveness and selfishness.

And sometimes, the most dangerous person is not the person who knows nothing about God… It is the person who knows the Word, hears the Word, teaches the Word, but refuses to live the Word.

Because knowledge without obedience can become self-deception.

Spiritual maturity is not measured by how many years you have been going to church. It is seen in how you behave when nobody is watching.

Can you control yourself when temptation comes?

Can you forgive when you have been deeply hurt?

Can you walk away from sin even when nobody would ever know?

Can you say “no” to something you desperately want because you know God is saying no?

Can you love people who cannot do anything for you?

Can you admit when you are wrong?

Can you humble yourself?

Can you obey God even when obedience is painful?

That is where spiritual maturity begins.

Because Christianity is not just about being found in church. It is about allowing Christ to be found in you.

And maybe this is the question we need to stop asking: “Did I go to church today?”

And start asking: “Did I become more like Christ today?”

Because one day, God will not be impressed by the number of Sundays you occupied a church seat.

He will look at the life you lived after you left that seat.

So please… Don’t just be a regular churchgoer. Be a growing Christian.

Don’t just hear the Word. Live it.

Don’t just carry the Bible. Let the Bible change you.

Because the greatest evidence that you have been with God is not how loudly you worship in public… It is how differently you live when nobody is watching.

Think about that.

Choose Humility (Philippians 2:3–4)

Pride doesn't always look obvious.

Sometimes pride sounds like:

“I don't need anyone.”

Sometimes it looks like refusing to apologize.

Sometimes it is always needing to be right.

Sometimes it is comparing yourself with others.

Sometimes it is wanting recognition for everything you do.

And sometimes pride can even enter our relationship with God when we begin believing that we know better than Him.

But Jesus calls us to a different way of living.

The Bible says:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”

Humility doesn't mean thinking you are worthless.

It means understanding that you are not the centre of everything.

You can recognize your gifts without looking down on others.

You can succeed without becoming arrogant.

You can be knowledgeable without believing you know everything.

You can receive recognition without making recognition your identity.

And you can lead while still being willing to serve.

Jesus is the greatest example of humility.

He had every reason to receive glory.

Yet He chose to serve.

He washed His disciples' feet.

He welcomed people others overlooked.

He touched the hurting.

He listened.

He taught.

And ultimately, He humbled Himself and gave His life on the cross for us.

Think about that.

The Son of God chose the path of sacrifice.

If Jesus was willing to serve, we should never consider ourselves too important to serve others.

Sometimes humility means saying:

“I was wrong.”

Sometimes it means:

“I need help.”

Sometimes:

“I don't know.”

Sometimes:

“I'm sorry.”

Sometimes:

“How can I help you?”

Those words don't make you weak.

They can demonstrate strength of character.

Pride asks:

“What can I get?”

Humility asks:

“What can I give?”

Pride asks:

“Why aren't people noticing me?”

Humility asks:

“How can I make someone else's life better?”

Pride wants the platform.

Humility is willing to serve even when nobody is watching.

This is especially important in a world where social media can make everything about visibility.

Followers.

Likes.

Views.

Comments.

Recognition.

It is easy to begin measuring your value by how much attention you receive.

But remember:

God sees what people don't see.

He sees the quiet act of kindness.

He sees the prayer nobody heard.

He sees the sacrifice nobody noticed.

He sees the person you helped without posting about it.

He sees your heart.

So don't serve only when people are watching.

Don't do good only when you can receive recognition.

Serve because you love God.

Serve because Christ first served you.

And when you succeed, remember where your abilities came from.

When God opens a door, be grateful.

When He gives you an opportunity, remain humble.

When you achieve something, celebrate without looking down on those who haven't reached the same place yet.

Your success should give you an opportunity to lift others, not make you feel superior to them.

And if someone else succeeds before you, don't allow jealousy to take over.

Celebrate them.

Learn from them.

Encourage them.

Your journey doesn't become less valuable because someone else's journey looks different.

Humility also means being teachable.

Never become so confident that you cannot receive correction.

Never become so experienced that you stop learning.

Never become so successful that you stop listening.

A humble heart remains open to growth.

Most importantly, remain humble before God.

You don't have to pretend that you have everything figured out.

Come to Him honestly.

Ask for wisdom.

Ask for correction.

Ask Him to reveal areas of your heart that need to change.

Because the goal isn't simply to look humble.

The goal is to become more like Christ.

True greatness in God's kingdom is not about how many people serve you. It is about how faithfully you serve others.

Today, look for one opportunity to put someone else first.

Encourage someone.

Help someone.

Listen to someone.

Apologize if necessary.

Give without expecting recognition.

And when nobody notices, remember:

God does.

THE POWER OF UNITY

Together We Are Stronger

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE

Psalm 133:1 (KJV) “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

1. UNITY BRINGS STRENGTH

Unity produces peace, strength and progress.

Where there is unity, there is strength.

2. UNITY DOESN'T MEAN UNIFORMITY

We may have different opinions and gifts, but we can still have one heart and one purpose.

You don't have to agree on everything to walk together.

3. AVOID DIVISION

Pride, gossip, jealousy and unforgiveness destroy relationships.

Proverbs 16:28 (KJV) “A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.”

Don't be the source of division.

4. UNITY ATTRACTS BLESSING

Psalm 133:3 (KJV) “...for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”

Where God's people walk in unity, God commands blessing.

5. BE A BUILDER OF UNITY

1. Forgive.
2. Love.
3. Communicate honestly.
4. Pray for others.
5. Promote peace.

KEY LESSON

1. Unity brings strength.
2. Division brings weakness.
3. Forgiveness protects relationships.
4. Love overcomes differences.
5. Unity creates room for blessing.

FINAL CHARGE

Be a bridge, not a wall. Be a peacemaker, not a troublemaker.

Build unity.
Protect relationships.
Walk together in love.

SHORT PRAYER

Father, give me a heart that values unity and peace. Remove pride, jealousy, bitterness and unforgiveness from me. Help me to love, forgive and respect others. Make me a builder of unity wherever I go. In Jesus' name, Amen.
